Thomas Krottinger, another member of the Lagi tribe, brings a different flavor to Survivor 48. At 34, Thomas is a music executive from Los Angeles, originally from The Woodlands, Texas. His journey to Survivor began during the pandemic when he immersed himself in the show, watching 42 seasons in just nine months. Inspired by the game and the encouragement he gives to others to pursue their dreams, Thomas decided to take his own advice and apply for Survivor.
Thomas' career in A&R has honed his ability to navigate complex social dynamics, a skill he plans to utilize in the game. He describes his role as being behind the scenes, supporting artists, which parallels the strategic maneuvering required in Survivor. Thomas is keenly aware of the need to balance collaboration with competition, drawing on his experience in the music industry where he must work with others while also striving for personal success.
In preparation for the game, Thomas made significant lifestyle changes, such as giving up caffeine and alcohol, to ensure he is physically and mentally ready for the challenges ahead. He also focused on building his physical strength and endurance, recognizing the importance of being in peak condition for the demanding environment of Survivor.
Thomas identifies his love for people as both his greatest strength and potential weakness. While he believes his ability to connect with others will help him form alliances, he is wary of being perceived as a backstabber if he has to make tough decisions. His strategy includes aligning with big threats to shield himself and using his social skills to navigate the complex web of relationships on the island.
As Thomas steps into the Survivor arena, he is determined to play a game that reflects his values and experiences, aiming to leave a lasting impression and perhaps earn a spot in the future Survivor 50 season.
