Big Brother 28 goes full mayhem inside and outside the house as Summer of Stein returns, hosted by Rob with guest Eric Stein for an all-access recap. The house sits on edge after a unanimous 14-0 vote sends Ashley home, only for Rick Devens to win HoH and deliver what might be the wildest nomination ceremony yet. While the house blows up on the live feeds, the alumni start their own battles online, creating non-stop drama for fans and former houseguests alike.

This episode dives into the chaotic nomination fallout, with Angela donning the egg costume punishment and getting into a heated showdown with Jason. Eric and Rob hash out whether Angela rehearsed her performance and why the rarely seen live feed moment during nominations amped up the tension. Meanwhile, the vets and newbies scramble as Rome’s unpredictable gameplay and his partnership with Lyric shake up the pecking order, blurring alliance lines and sparking hilarious and tense diary room moments.

  • Eric points out Angela’s factual takedown of Jason and wonders if nomination speeches are now play-acted for the camera.
  • Rob notes the live feeds returning mid-ceremony as a shocking boost for fans and a rare production slip.
  • Eric reflects on alumni fights, saying the show’s environment and social media draw out lingering rivalries every season.
  • Both discuss if Rome’s exit would help or hurt the reset against the vets, and debate the future for Rome, Lyric, and their influencer ambitions.

With returnees wielding early power but newbies stirring the pot, Summer of Stein asks: can the underdogs disrupt the veteran alliance or is a steamroll inevitable? Get the full breakdown of every punchline and power move in this week’s Summer of Stein!

[00:00:08] watching the show for like this. That's right, the Summer of Stein is back.

[00:00:38] And we're so happy that our great friend has returned for another week. Here he is. It's Eric Stein. Eric, how are you? Well, I was doing great, but during that little intro, interlude, I was dancing with my egg and it started feeling like the structural integrity of the egg might be compromised. I felt a lot of liquid moving around and I thought that there may have been an explosion. That was about to happen. I got very nervous. I had to abandon the whole bit.

[00:01:08] Yes. Okay. All right. Are you okay? Do you need to wash your hands? Is there any issue of a risk of salmonella? I do not want to talk about any more bacteria, any more parasites. I think I finally cleared that. I'm slightly less clammy. I'm ready to roll. Okay. How are you doing? I am great. I'm thrilled to be here. I really am. I was trying to think of something snarky to say, but I am very excited that we are back and doing this.

[00:01:38] I was thrilled with the response to week one. And now all I need to do is mind the archives of my brain for more stories of Big Brother past, present, and future. And I'm ready to roll. Yes. Did you feel like that there were enough comments and feedback that was objectifying you? Did you want to see more of that?

[00:02:05] I do not want to see more of that. It was an appropriate amount, a few sprinkling in, but I did learn my new love language is saying that this man can't be 46 years old because those compliments really hit close to home. You mean I look 44? 42? 42? That is a thrill. I mean, I don't need to be objectified. Just say that I look even one third of one year younger than I actually am.

[00:02:33] Although I will say the good people at RHAP, they did provide me with a ring light so I didn't have to podcast in a world of darkness this week. However, I think the darkness may have been helping my age appearance because now that things are a little bit more illuminated, I think the comments might fry up. Only slightly more illuminated, unfortunately.

[00:03:00] Well, you'll have to talk to the staff. That's not my fault. Yes, yes. You didn't ask, you didn't request that we sent you the world's smallest light, right? Well, in all fairness, the tiny veto of lights that we sent you. I was like, I actually like the darkness, but I want to make Rob happy. So if you could send me like a very small light, that would be great. Yes, yes. Can we send Eric nine more tiny lights?

[00:03:30] See if that could maybe even improve his appearance even more. I did also get a Wi-Fi extender. So maybe I will only cut out, you know, eight to 20 times. Okay. All right. We are ready. It's a whole new world there. You know, this is this podcast is a big hit. So I got to up my game here a little bit. Okay. Well, I appreciate the effort that you're making.

[00:03:53] And Eric, it was such an interesting week here since the last time we spoke on the Summer of Stein season premiere. Of course, then we had our 14-0 vote of Ashley sending her out of the house. But then we had such an exciting night on Thursday into Friday when Rick Devins became the HOH and Pandemonium broke out in the house.

[00:04:17] The live feeds came back in media res for the end of a crazy, maybe the craziest nomination ceremony ever. So they say. So they say. And then when things started to slow down in the Big Brother house, the Big Brother alumni picked up the slack and we had a week of chaos outside of the house. So, so much going on in these Big Brother streets. I think Big Brother has finally reached its final form, right?

[00:04:47] It is. It's the mess that it was always destined to be. I love it. I love the mayhem in the house. I love the mayhem out of the house. That's what we're here for, right? No one is here to be bored. We're here to be entertained. So have at. And you know what? If I also like caring. I like people who care. You know, it's funny. When talking about last week's podcast, I think I finally self-identified who I am as a person.

[00:05:14] And it's that I give no shits whatsoever while also simultaneously giving so, so, so many shits about everything. It's a very weird juxtaposition. Yeah. And I, I therefore, I could care less about the alum who are fighting. I don't care what the fandom is ranting and raving about. Yeah. But I also care so much. Yes.

[00:05:39] You care the most, but you also, you, you care deeply, but you also realize that how much it's all effed. And because you realize like just how effed it all is, it makes you then say, what do I even care? So, you know, I work in. Yeah. Well, I work in network TV development as a creator on the unscripted side.

[00:06:05] And, you know, they probably don't want the fans to have this as a secret. But one of the things they actually look for in a hit show, take a 90 day fiance as you cover on the network, is that the viewers like to feel superior to the people that they are watching. They have found in their research that that is one of the core things that gets people going on social is to be able to pass judgment on others. Now, we all know I'm in these streets fighting people.

[00:06:35] We all know that that is pathetic after 19 years. 19 years ago, it was a hundred times worse. You know, I'm not above anybody else. But with the blessing of time on my side, I do feel a bit above it now. And I, therefore, can look down upon the mess and think, ha, these youngins, what a bunch of, you know. And so it helps me feel a little bit superior to them. And that's why I love it now. Yeah.

[00:07:04] And you've seen it all, right? You've seen it all. I've been around the BB blocks a few too many times. I've seen several things that I would like to unsee personally and on the show. Okay. All right. Well, let's get into what's going on this week and let's hear some of your thoughts on, of course, I mentioned it in the open.

[00:07:30] What a crazy week it was here in the Big Brother house where we ended up having our huge fight that ended up taking place that we saw at the nominations this week. Eric, in your opinion, was this indeed the craziest nomination ceremony ever?

[00:07:52] I definitely, my gut reaction to the announcer man saying that was that that is a preposterous claim. That is such hyperbole. But then also, I don't remember what is actually the craziest one. So if he says it is, then I say yes, it is. Yeah. Nothing really comes to mind. Maybe in Big Brother's Celebrity when Hadric Hall was doing some crazy stuff.

[00:08:20] But I don't remember a fight breaking out like this. I feel like that usually the nomination ceremony, it's very sacrosanct. We don't typically have a fight. Maybe fights have broken out at the veto. But the nominations, I almost feel like that we have not had this kind of bare knuckle brawl at the nominations.

[00:08:45] So it is very by the books in terms of when you're filming it on the production side. You know, this is one of their like temple beats. So it is very much let's sit, let's say the words, let's do what you need to do. So I think that like a lot of people are good soldiers at it. However, there is something that has sort of emerged the last few years, maybe going back to like BB24 or so, where people are sort of like, you know, mining for their moments. Yes.

[00:09:14] You know, so and we saw that with Ava numerous times. You know, we saw that with Keanu numerous times. And it did feel like there was an element here of we're at a ceremony. The cameras are rolling. I don't want to make any accusations of Angela. It does feel like perhaps she may have rehearsed some elements of this ahead of time. Well, we know.

[00:09:38] I mean, Angela on the live feeds that from Big Brother 26, many live feed viewers remember her rehearsing the speech that she gave to Matt Hardman. Like before she was like going over in her head before she actually did it. You know, I had an experience this earlier this year when I went to the Traders finale and the reunion show for the Traders.

[00:10:04] And in that environment, it wasn't in my for my not even like in my short time at the Traders castle. But at the reunion show, I just I really did feel like people were like, oh, why are you being like this? Of that? I felt like that people were really I was watching some like reality TV superstars like in their elements going for screen time.

[00:10:29] And I feel like that maybe that was playing out a bit here between Jason and Angela. Absolutely. And I mean, it it definitely was the right to people you wanted to see going at it here. You know, they they are ready for the barbs. There was something just particularly ludicrous about the whole situation. Obviously, she's in the costume.

[00:10:53] But Angela, the essence of who she is and Jason comes from a world where getting on each other in that way is is part of the culture. You know, it's it's part of the fun. So I thought that the biggest surprise was that she she ate him up. But I think that the reason I expected Jason to hold his own and come back a little bit stronger.

[00:11:17] I think the problem is that she was just factually, objectively, objectively correct, which made it hard for him to actually counterpoint. Yeah, because he was sort of on the spot. And it's like to go all in and start bad mouthing her is going to make him look worse, especially when he really doesn't have a leg to stand on in the argument. So I was pretty surprised because, you know, Angela, I don't think she was really like armed and ready beyond those first like two or three sentences.

[00:11:45] But so I was not expecting her to to get the W here. But this was definitely Angela's moment, in my opinion. Eric, so on Friday night, the feeds came back before the ceremony had even concluded a true rarity in Big Brother history here. Twenty six seasons in or twenty six years into Big Brother, twenty eight seasons into it. I think that the fans are used to seeing less, getting less.

[00:12:13] That was this a mistake that things came back so early or do you think that in any way that the powers that be were like, OK, this is gold. Show this to people. So it feels like the person who did it is probably fired now.

[00:12:31] However, that being said, it unintentionally or intentionally by the employee, unintentionally by the greater production ended up being, you know, a great teaser for the rest of the week. It built in excitement and made people want to see the episodes. So it's definitely was the right thing to do. But when does BB production ever do the right thing by the fans? Although we did discuss last week, we may be turning over a new leaf.

[00:12:56] You know, first they gave them an appearance by cherished legend Eric Stein. Then Howie Gordon came back. And maybe it's just that they now know what the fans want and are giving it to them. But that being said, it is the same producers it's been for the last 19 years. So that doesn't seem that plausible that they now want to make the fans happy. But maybe maybe maybe they maybe they tweak their medication or something. I don't know.

[00:13:23] It did seem like that Rick Devins tried to end the nomination ceremony like three or four times. And I do wonder if maybe that could have played a part in it. But from what I understand, and I'm not sitting by the feeds every week waiting for them to come back after nominations. It does not feel like that when the HOH says this nomination ceremony is over, that's the cue to turn the live feeds back on. Oh, no, definitely not.

[00:13:53] That's when they're out there. They go get their lunch, you know, whatever. So I do think this was a very pleasant surprise. The I like that they gave us the action. I liked also in the previously on how the announcer man said, if you need to go to the bathroom, hold it. This is a network CBS show. They're known for procedural dramas that cater to 60 year olds.

[00:14:22] And yet somehow this is this is where they are steering the show. And I like it. We need full ownership. This is this is my messaging last week. And I'm sticking to it. This show is stupid. We are stupid for devoting our time to watching it. And we should stop trying to deny it or defend it in any which way. And we should just say this is stupid. We're all stupid. And now we're going to enjoy this stupidity together.

[00:14:47] And I think it seems like someone in production actually got the message, which is insane. OK, Eric. So it played out on the TV show on Wednesday night. And a lot of the viewers who had seen this from the live feeds saw the back and forth. And we heard Rome say to Haley to not be a snarky B word.

[00:15:13] But we did not hear Haley's retort in the episode where she claimed that Rome has small balls. Now, it would be one thing if we cut the whole fight. It would be one thing if we didn't see Rome call Haley a snarky B word. Why, in your estimation, do you feel like that the producers did not show us Haley telling Rome that he had small balls? Yeah.

[00:15:43] Where do we draw the line? Like, listen, guys, you know, we can't be talking about it. People would have loved it. People would have been so happy. In your estimation, was this talking about his courage or was this talking about his actual anatomy? Do we think that this in which way were was she digging here?

[00:16:06] I mean, I felt like that the comment, if I had to guess, was specifically about that he lacked the intestinal fortitude. Not so much that she was giving any sort of a measurement on like the combine. Well, how Rome might be comparing to some others.

[00:16:33] Well, I'm just workshopping this theory, you know, in real time, but they do have a shared living space. You know, they are showering in the same space and so on and so forth. So what if it was pertaining to his anatomy and therefore they said, can't air this? We're not going to body shame anybody here. Ah, yeah. You know, that's that's fair.

[00:16:57] What if it was physical and that could potentially a young generation of men get a complex about and then and then they could be pursuing things like ball maxing? Should we stop ball shaming? I can't even say that I would be certain what small, medium or large should consist of. No. And I've been alive for a long time. I really.

[00:17:23] I mean, it's I guess it's it's hard to tell because I guess I have no real frame of reference of knowing, you know, I don't have like a really good comparison to be able to tell. I. I. I. I. I think this we may have figured out what the sensor problem was just saying, hey, listen, this is a touch a touchy area.

[00:17:50] We don't want people taking out the tape measures after this episode and calling us about this. And we're better off leaving this on the cutting room floor, exploring it another time. You know, after the season. I. You know, it's funny. Every single person who's cast on a reality show is capable of jumping into the mix on a fight like this. But historically, if you go back through Big Brother, every time there's a fight on Big Brother 10, you see Dan and Memphis giggling in the background.

[00:18:20] You know, I famously was laughing in the hot tub as two of my housemates were fighting above me. A good player is not going to join someone else's fight. They're going to sit back and think to themselves, I just got three more weeks in this house while these people go at it. So to jump into someone else's fight that does not even involve you in any way, shape or form is a great choice that we want from our reality TV contestants.

[00:18:50] I cannot. This is my like the point I am going to beat to death this summer. We want people who have no self-control, who say the first thing that comes to their head, good or bad, not strategic there. This is not the show that is looking for the best game bot to play Big Brother. This is looking for the person who's going to tell you you have small balls for no reason whatsoever. So I love this. I want more of it.

[00:19:20] I want more fights. I want more showmances that cross the line. I want horrible gameplay. I want back doors gone terribly awry. And I'm thinking we might have the group for it here. You know, this feels like this might be where the new generation of Big Brother. You said that you want showmances that cross the line. How do you mean showmances that cross the line?

[00:19:43] Well, listen, I was famously in a showmance many moons ago, and I know a little bit about showmancing in the Big Brother house. And you were respectful of the line. Well, you know, as you like to say, we do not yuck anybody's yum. This being said, I personally would probably not choose a shared spinning torture bed as the place that I would explore my feelings for someone.

[00:20:10] Now, maybe outside of the house, maybe not on camera, maybe if paid on camera, but not for free while these other people spin right next to me. That is not something that interests me. Do you think that maybe Rome is feeling a certain pressure now to disprove the small balls allegations? See? See? See? They're normal.

[00:20:38] I know we're going to get to him later. Would somebody with small balls do this? I do have some more thoughts about Rome and his fallen empire. Okay. All right. We'll talk more about Rome. But let's talk about Angela in the egg costume. And we saw her during the fight. We had a segment on Wednesday night about egg Angela. There was a question for you on Blue Sky that was, Eric, if you were in any egg costume, what type of egg would you be?

[00:21:08] I famously do not like eggs. I do not like the sulfury smell of them. Don't like them scrambled, hard-boiled. Yeah. I do think sunny side up looks funny. So I would like that. The thing is, I hate so much that they're doing all of these egg puns. But I also started our episode with one. Yeah. And I want to do so many more.

[00:21:34] And I once in after a food competition that involved pasta, I said it was positively a good time or something like that. And the part that makes me cringe so badly is that I know that if I was given this costume, that's all I would say all week. It's the only thing. My brain is hardwired against me. I would not want to do it.

[00:21:58] And it would just be horrible pun after horrible pun to the point where everyone would absolutely become loathsome towards the whole thing. I do think this is one of their more inspired punishments and costumes through the years. And I'm not sad to go back to the well on it.

[00:22:15] I will say that last week I very strongly declared that if Angela was eligible for a reward or a punishment, that under no circumstances would she have the punishment and she would most certainly come away with a coup d'etat. So I will say that did not pan out as I had exclaimed. So I'll take the L on that one. I think she's great for this.

[00:22:40] I laughed out loud when I saw a clip of her calling for all the king's horses and all the king's men to put her back together again after a fall. And it's a great costume for the LOLs. That being said, I don't love that we're doing it back to back summers. I think this is supposed to be the time traveling. We didn't travel really all that far to go back to this one. I'm still in camp. I want to see Angela in that red unitard.

[00:23:11] I'm not objectifying her. I am just saying that I would like to see a different punishment. Then they open the door to the costume closet. This was the first thing sitting here and they rolled it out. That being said, it's a perfect match of costume and person. So I can't hate on it. Instead of Angela getting Vince's egg costume, what would you think about Angela getting a Vince costume? Of getting the flannels, getting a beanie. Like, okay, he has a fake mustache.

[00:23:40] I think enough time has passed. I think that Vince is truly one of the great characters in Big Brother history. And what is so genius about him is that I don't necessarily know that in real life he even is that big of a personality. It's just something about how the experience affected him while he was there. Anybody in a Vince costume or doing a Vince impersonation would be – that's laugh out loud funny. Amazing. Yeah. He was really great.

[00:24:08] And especially over getting to watch him for 85 days, he was not a – a lot of these people that we think of as characters are sort of like two-dimensional characters. He was three-dimensional, Vince. And almost like a Walter White. Like, we explored all of the deep sides of Vince. And I think that he was a truly great television character. The fact that within him he could be both an incredible player and a god-awful player at the same time is very rare.

[00:24:38] I mean, normally you are one or the other. Like you said, he's a very multifaceted man. And the fact that he was able to nearly get himself into a showmance, you know, against his better judgment, but also was like collapsing it around himself in real time. It was just a level of excellence, but also complete self-sabotage and confidence and neuroses. And I'm – this is – these are not dicks. This is – I'm serious.

[00:25:08] This is everything you ever want in an unscripted character. Right. A real flawed person. Or a scripted character. Good and bad. Yeah, a scripted character would be unbelievable if you wrote his story. But by the time that he was on hour seven of part two of the final HOH, you would have been, you know, saying this is too unbelievable for words. You know, this cannot be fiction. Yeah. He is a true antihero. Yeah. I expect to see him there sometime later this summer.

[00:25:38] Okay. Let's then talk about after Angela the Egg. Okay, let's talk about Rome. And we may be hours away from Rome leaving the Big Brother house. And maybe at this time tomorrow I'm talking to Rome instead of you. But, Eric, are you rooting for Rome to be the second player evicted from the house? I am definitely not.

[00:26:06] I would like Rome there as a foil to the vet. It seems like he has completely melted down spectacularly already. You know, I was brought back to a time and place when you and I watched the disgraced Jackson Mickey saying, where's mama? I mean my mama. When this man was crying yesterday saying, I'm so sorry, mama. This woman is not your mom.

[00:26:36] You are the one who threw her under the bus. And I was thrilled to see Lala in the diary room afterwards saying, like, I don't know what he thinks he's apologizing for, but I don't accept. Why is he crying? Why am I consoling him? This man has completely lost it, gone off the reservation. Now, another thing about the fall of Rome. Oh, wait, hold on, Eric. Just for you. Please, mom. Cut from the same cloth, no doubt.

[00:27:06] We hope not. No, certainly not for Rome's sake. How does he feel about watermelon? Yeah, and it would guarantee him an appearance on God 101, which is always a good gig after the show. So, now, the thing is, you can't fall all that far if you are potentially going home in week two. I resent and reject the idea that Devins has put forth that, Rome, you're just too good at this. I'm so sorry, my friend. You have to go home.

[00:27:36] If anyone who is too good at Big Brother is not going home in week two, that's not how it works. I don't care what army you have allegedly assembled, and I'm not even sure he has assembled it. I don't care. If this man goes home this week, then he is about as effective of a Big Brother player as Pooch. So, that's how I come in. So, this is not the fall of the great leader of the Roman Empire.

[00:28:04] My Roman Empire is just thinking about him, you know, saying sorry to mama now. Eric, Rome is famously a pickleball instructor. Have you ever played pickleball? I have not, although it does feel like it would be my kind of sport. Like, I used to enjoy badminton and racquetball and stuff, and I love the fact that I wouldn't have to move very much. I do like also, I think, a nice sweatband would be good for the clamminess.

[00:28:31] So, I would be willing to take a lesson. I also wanted to say, I should have stopped you right then and there. If you do his exit interview tomorrow, just be sure that he doesn't start rapping about the elimination order. Because Rome had some problems with that a couple of years ago, and I just don't want any problems for you. Yeah. Did you catch this week where he gave the origin story of his name Rome?

[00:29:00] I did not, but I would love to hear the lore. So, Rome, much like Jackson, also known as Mickey, his real name is Jack, also known as Rome. And he told a story about how, and he had this in his opening package, about how he is a former nerd, reform nerd. He got very into Xbox, Xbox Live in particular.

[00:29:26] And I guess some popular kids invited him into an Xbox Live game. And they asked him, hey, what shape is Italy? And he said, a boot. And then when he said boot, they kicked him out of the Xbox Live game. And later in life, I guess he told that story to his current friend group. And they were like, oh my God, that's so classic.

[00:29:55] Italy, your name is Rome now. And that is how he ended up getting the name Rome instead of Jack. Jack. I don't know if you made that up, if he made that up, but somebody did. I might have a detail wrong, but to the best of my knowledge, that is the story he told on the live feeds. I don't know what to make of this man yet from what I've seen of him. He seems like he might be very multifaceted like Vince, potentially.

[00:30:26] I would like to see more of him. It does nothing for the show for him to go home other than line up a brutal steamroll. The thing is, I question what he is actually capable of doing if he stays. But we still need numbers on the opposing side or it's not going to happen. And I know we're going to lose one either way, but at least it feels like he has something, something going on. I don't know why.

[00:30:55] I feel like that maybe him going is something that helps avoid a steamroll. Maybe something that prevents it. Because I think that if Rome goes home, I think it actually makes things harder for the vets to strike at where, okay, Rome is still here. He's still doing things. He's still trying to get his people together. We're still looking at that.

[00:31:23] Whereas the target, I think, is a lot more of like, whoa, wait, what are we doing now? Where are we going now? Is Drew the target? Are we looking at ourselves? So I think that, and I defer to you, I think that it becomes trickier for what is the next move for the vets if Rome is gone, as opposed to if Rome stays. My present expectation for the season,

[00:31:53] I know we're not supposed to speak this name, but if you look at an alliance like Grateful, for example, or if you look at Paul and his minions, you know, on Big Brother 19, the problem is when you have a very large group and they hold a lot of the competitors and the challenge winners in it, eventually, yes, they will fracture and they will go after each other. But there's just so many of them to get rid of.

[00:32:23] So you do start to siphon off and the bottom goes, but ultimately, it's so hard to just finish the job on an alliance that big. And I think that we are probably just a couple more HOHs away from an inevitable conclusion where we're looking at a reality icon, one of the super fans, you know, one of the Kamu Chuck, you know, Haley group,

[00:32:53] and then maybe like a straggler or a purple person who has just sort of, you know, found their way at the end. I mean, at this point, you don't see a lot of HOHs being used on a Yash, you know, like that's not going to happen. So someone is going to be in the end of this game, but it's starting to feel to me like the winner pool is closing fast and it's from the existing power lines. Right. And I guess if Rome stays, he's somebody who could win an HOH.

[00:33:21] So I guess there is more possibilities there. Let's then talk about, all right, the rise of Rome as he and Lyric at different points this week escalated their relationship. And then at other points, fake the breakup in the house. I really do not like the still photo that has been selected for this slide. Yes. What am I looking at? Rome is about to have his tonsils checked

[00:33:51] based off of this still photo where he has his mouth open and his tongue sticking out. I am pro-showmance. I am, I'm channeling my, my inner Julie. You love, why not? You're single. Go on, have fun. You're locked in a house together. What else do you have to do? Right. Do, do I personally think it's a good idea to have it, you know, tank your game? Do I think it's believable to pretend that you're no longer in a relationship? The fact that,

[00:34:20] that the other guys were so quick to like, well, I'm going to start flirting with Lyric now. Here's my chance. It's like, are you kidding me? First of all, isn't it transparent what it is that they're doing? And, and also they were like lusting after her so badly that when given the slightest crack of an opportunity, they're like, sorry, bro. See you Rome. She's mine now. Like a very odd moving from the other gentlemen in the house. You know, but big brother,

[00:34:47] that there is this world that's created where it's kind of like in a movie where it's like, oh, we're the last people on earth. So it's like, okay, this person is available now. I have to take my shot here because I, they think that this is it. I have no other prospects. I mean, how do you think I landed Jessica? She had no other prospect. I actually had a diary room where I said, uh, well,

[00:35:16] as it compared to a 44 year old, uh, pervert, Dick at the time, and a, uh, and an ogre, Zach at the time, uh, it just so turns out that I was the best remaining option. You know, it's like you, you have, you, you, you only have what's in front of you. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, it makes a lot of sense that there's only so many available options here. Yeah. Although this, in this particular case, she does seem like a taken option.

[00:35:44] So it doesn't seem like the option I would be looking at, but you know, Hey, she came on the market seemingly. I am very interested in learning more about Lyric. Um, she is sort of presenting on camera as, as, as very young and, uh, occasionally like, um, a little bit on the surface level, but then also she is presenting some big game ideas this week.

[00:36:13] She's going out. She's, she got herself right in the mix. Um, I have heard a little bit more about her career and her academic background, and it seems like she is quite accomplished. I am wondering if like, she might be primed and ready for, for a spinoff, like a, like an Elle Woods type of character. You know, she's, she is, is also very multifaceted, right? I think that there's a lot going on with the house guests this year. Are you familiar with the work of Lyric's dad? So I am not,

[00:36:43] and I'm surprised. I, I, I heard about it. Um, and I would say 85% of my brain is filled with song lyrics, especially one hit wonders. But I, this one escaped me somehow. Yeah. I'm trying to bring up, I do know the song, uh, that he is a, a one hit wonder. Um, and the one hit wonder is, uh, nothing's going to change my love.

[00:37:11] I was going to try to, I was going to try to age shame this man. This is obviously a problem I have within myself. I was going to say, if he was a one hit wonder in the eighties and he was old enough to do that, he has a child, you know, he must've been an old father. And then I remembered that I have two young children and that I really am having a real difficulty with like wrapping my head around people's ages and, and understanding it as it pertains to me. And you too, some could say are a one hit wonder.

[00:37:40] I would say I'm a, uh, what would be the exact opposite? A no hit, nothing. No wonder involved. Maybe. What you see is what you get. And it's, it's not wondrous and it's, there's no hits involved. So we'll see if, Lyric can do anything, uh, without Rome. Um, I had also gotten on blue sky. Uh,

[00:38:03] some people wanted to hear about your thoughts on the prospects of Rome and Lyric becoming influencers after the season. I don't feel good about that. Um, you know, maybe, maybe, you know, it's the protective past houseguess in me. Maybe it's the fact that I'm, you know, old, old, like their parents. Um, but I don't think that that's a good choice. I feel, I am for firmly in the camp of, if you are an attorney,

[00:38:33] um, um, and I, we have seen some other recent examples of this in the, uh, alum pool. Uh, if you're an attorney, stay an attorney, do not make this your life. Otherwise, fast forward 19 years later, and you will be on a podcast with someone from survivor. You know, that is not the path that you want to be on. You need to go home, do your job, make money,

[00:39:01] do not become an influencer. Now, maybe I'm saying this because, um, what could I possibly influence? I have, no, there is, there is nothing. There's no, no tummy time tea I could sell, or I guess that was the old generation of influence, or I don't even know what they're influencing anymore. Yeah. but maybe, maybe they will have success influencing to me. And you know what? Giving up a lucrative career as a pickleball coach, I'm more open. Yeah. I'm trying to think of if,

[00:39:30] because both of them have done some, uh, influencing already, and we could take a look at some of their, uh, current work, but I'm trying to think of like, who was the last big brother figure who really broke out as an influencer? I guess, uh, maybe Haley Brocker a little bit, if that's her name. Yeah. Nicole Franzel sort of, right? A little bit. Sure. I don't, I don't, I don't really know.

[00:40:00] I don't really know also, are they influencers? Like, are they, are they actually selling things? Are there brand deals? Or is it just like, uh, content creation? Yeah. If you will call what they are doing that. Okay. All right. Well, here's some of the work that Rome, has been doing. Let's see if you, uh, have any, uh, thoughts on this, Eric. Don't like it already. All right, here we go. Here is, here's the current work of Rome. Uh,

[00:40:27] it says my future son-in-law is cooked already. Okay. This is, seems to be, uh, his thing. If my future daughter brings a boy home, and if my future daughter brings a boy home, if my future daughter brings a boy home, and if my daughter brings a boy home, if my future daughter brings a boy home, if my daughter brings a boy home, if my daughter brings a boy home, if my future daughter brings a boy home, if your daughter brings a boy home. Okay. Uh, what do you think of this hook that Rome is working with? I take back what I just said.

[00:40:57] Please do not quit your pickleball job. Sir, this is not it. This is not the way to go. This is also, I mean, what in the unholy hell am I looking at here? What is going on? Why is this an obsessive thought in this man's mind that he is, he is creating a fictional universe in which he's going to terrorize a future person who doesn't exist.

[00:41:25] A daughter who doesn't exist. Their partner who doesn't exist. And this is, this is his Roman Empire. This is all he can think about. Yeah. And some of these open, like the text on the screen, it says here, what do you know about the lost art of the mid range? What is he talking about? I can honestly say, I do not know what that sequence of words means. Uh, also like, is this, like this, this, this is kind of making me go back to wondering, you know, where we were going with small balls,

[00:41:55] because it seems to me that he is trying to bully a non-existent person. Like he is, he is, he is essentially, um, terrorizing and trying to like be a tough guy to someone that, a baby that has not yet been born. Yeah. He's painting himself as sort of like the, uh, Robert De Niro in some sort of like futuristic meet the parent situation. I have nipples. Can you milk me? 20s, right?

[00:42:24] This is not like this is even something that is really on the horizon for him. Mm-hmm. Yeah. I think there is a new meet the fuckers coming. So be on the lookout for that. Um, but yeah, he, there's some of these steps, uh, says here, but does he know who the goat of aura farming is? Uh, that's one of the questions. Um, he, then a lot of them say my future son-in-law is already done. It's already, my future son-in-law is already cooked. Really?

[00:42:56] You know, they, they, um, I guess what I've been wondering, you know, as they have some of these more, um, content forward casting choices, have these people always existed on survivor and big brother? And it's simply that content creation didn't exist. You know, like is that, is this really the equivalent of who we were out there with when we were playing? It was just that, like, they didn't have a, a, a vessel to put their creative ideas yet. Because I mean, I'm in some regard,

[00:43:26] it feels like a new archetype, the, the Zay and the mats. Yeah. And the, the, these guys. And then on the other hand, it's like, actually they're pretty reminiscent of the bozos that I was in there with as well. Yeah. So I don't know how they cast big brother back in the, the really old days, but for the longest time on survivor that you would have Lynn Spillman and her casting team, they would just like go to bars and go to hang out like at like restaurants and go to the Santa Monica pier.

[00:43:56] And they'd see people who were interesting and they would just say like, Oh, you should be on survivor. You should be on survivor. That now I think they're just doing that on social media of who looks interesting. Maybe we can recruit some people. Although I don't know necessarily how many people in this current cast are recruits. Yeah. I think that that all checks out. I mean, I'm, I'm kind of like racking my brain and it's like, this really is just sort of like Jason Scott all over again. Right. You know, it's like, it's just like the, the,

[00:44:25] the like 6.0 version, you know, a copy of a copy of a copy that's kind of like leaked out of itself along the way. Yeah. Okay. Let's go back to, talking about the news of the week. Okay. Oh, Eric, the big brother alumni are really going through it. So many issues have popped up. Eric,

[00:44:49] is there something in particular that's happening now that's causing so much big brother inter fighting? First of all, why is it that they look like ghosts in this picture? They're, they're not deceased. They're just fighting. Yeah. Um, but, but that being said, um, ah, there's a lot that goes into it. Um, and you know, there's, there's like the funny answer and then there's the real answer.

[00:45:18] And the, the real answer is the show comes back on. There are people living in your house. It starts to feel really fresh again. You thought that you had slightly detached yourself from it. And now you're waking up in cold sweats again and saying, but what if I just got that one question, right? In the HOH, this all could have been different. And then you see the person that you blame for it. And they're talking all kinds of crazy stuff online and you just snap.

[00:45:48] And I have, I have been there many, many, many times over the last 19 years. And a big part of me feels badly that they are, uh, in it right now and that it's so fresh. And then of course there is the other part of me that's like, but this is really entertaining. And these are great characters. And I'm so glad that we found that. I'm so glad that they're carrying the torch for us. And I hope that this leads to them being on a rival season.

[00:46:18] And I, I hope it never ends. It is great entertainment, um, in the same way you rubberneck a car crash. Um, but also I, I met some of the quarreling alum, uh, just a few weeks ago and they were really great. They were all really nice. And happy for the experience. And so I don't wish this for them. The faster they can resolve this,

[00:46:45] the faster that they'll move on and they'll feel some inner peace. That being said, um, it is very fresh and very raw. And I do sort of wish it for us. So that's, that's, I'm having very mixed feelings about it. Yeah. Where do you come down on this? Uh, you know, it's, it's interesting that this is all just, uh, bubbling up and that you make a good point about that. The return of the show, like this wasn't happening in February. Uh, there's something about the show being back on that is causing this to happen,

[00:47:15] but it just seems like that the alumni it, and beyond just Ashley and Morgan are very chippy right now. Well, I think that this is a bit of the chicken or the egg situation, right? Um, it's, it's like, I, I went on big brother and then I met the people from the seasons around me. And I, I thought these people are all completely insane. And then I thought to myself, am I the one outlier to all of this or, or am I completely insane?

[00:47:41] And did the show make them insane or were they already insane? And that's why they got cast on the show. And, and I'm going to just give you an example. So these, these individuals, they were on the show just one year ago. Okay. I joined chat BCC this summer to, uh, get a little bit more involved in the alumni conversation. See more at BB 28. Chat. And I was posting some very harmless,

[00:48:10] innocuous questions of some of the other people on the main host page. Buried deep within the separate live feed fan chat. I found a legendary big brother alum that added me and said, delete your account. Now, I'll tell you something. I'll tell you something. This person, they, they, they did not play last summer.

[00:48:39] They are also too old to be doing this. Also, nothing I said had anything to do with them. If you are 20 years out of this experience and someone posing completely harmless questions that have nothing to do with you, sets you off to the fact that you enter a secret location to be having these fights. Actually not a fight, a one-sided, uh, bullying that I could not even reciprocate because I did not know was there. Um,

[00:49:11] then it is possible that you've been stewing too long about these things and that you may need to move on. But I'm going to give grace to the people that are one year out of the experience. Uh, I, I just, I, I feel for them because, uh, when it doesn't go your way, you know, let's just call it like it is. When you win the show, everything that happened to get you there, it feels a little bit less painful because you won. You have the bragging rights.

[00:49:40] You have the money for everybody else. It, it is, it's a coulda, shoulda, woulda. And it's just how long do you live with that eating you up inside? And how much do you blame yourself? And how much do you blame someone else? And some of these people don't care. Some of them will go right back to their pickleball job. Some of them will become famous influencers. And for others, this was a big opportunity and it's, it's, it's going to haunt them for a while. And I, I, I, I'm being sincere in saying,

[00:50:08] I feel that I'm here for those people to help them sort through it. But that being said, um, just cause I understand it doesn't mean it's not entertaining. You know, it is entertaining. You know, we have D and Rick Devins in the big brother house to some, and it was sort of leading me to think about how, you know, we have so much alumni smoke in the big brother world, and this is nothing new. And I feel like that we don't typically have this in the survivor world. It's like,

[00:50:37] I can count on one hand. I feel like the time that the survivor alumni have really gotten into these types of social media battles. Do you have any reason why you feel like that it happens more with the big brother alumni? I don't know. That's a great question. Cause I, I wouldn't think that would be the case. It must just be what you were talking about before that. It's just sort of this incubator, you know, and it's a much longer duration and it's all inside of the bubble. And while on survivor,

[00:51:07] yes, these are your only connections at the time, but you at least have the interactions in person interactions with production. And you're also back to your family and friends sooner to parse through these feelings. And I think that they have, they just, you know, sort of bubble, bubble, bubble, bubble, bubble. And, and, and then they overflow at some point. And, you know, if your cup is halfway full and someone pours water into it, it doesn't overflow. But if it is right at the top and you pour more on top of it, it comes pouring out.

[00:51:35] And I think that the problem is that the big brother experience, it, it leaves you with a very full cup ready to pour over for a long time. I mean, listen, there are people I I'm, I'm just being honest here. Cause I could, I could say it, it rolls off my back and you know, I'm above this and I laugh at it all. There are people that to this day, when I see them say certain things, it irks the hell out of me. You know, you just do not want it to, to hear from these people because they are,

[00:52:06] unwelcome presences there. You know, they're you didn't sign up to know these people. I think that's part of the problem. Although that is not a difference from survivor, but it's like, I don't want this person in my life. I don't have people in my regular life who are going around bad mouthing me. I do think that part of it, if I was going to just try to figure out like why that is, I think that's so much of the big brother experience for the viewers and maybe for the players after the season is so much of it is online in terms of like,

[00:52:35] how so much of the show is consumed. And then people come right out of the house and then that they are really just, that they're the, this online fandom really flocks to people when they come out of the house. And there's a lot of that where they want to be the first person in your ear of, Oh, let me tell you what this person was saying. Let me tell you what this person was doing.

[00:52:58] And so I do think that there is like a lot of gasoline that gets poured onto the, any sort of like alumni controversy. I mean, I think that is a great point. I had been pretty far removed from the fandom for a hot minute until I am, came back at the end of last season in a little bit more of a big way.

[00:53:25] And what I have found is that the fandom at largest is extremely extraordinarily unwell. and, and I am not, is most likely not going to be the people who are watching this particular program. Yeah. Uh, that being said, yes, it is very unhealthy. The way that people treat this experience, they are watching complete strangers and they love them too much.

[00:53:54] They hate them too much. They follow what they are doing too much. They chime in on it too much. Anytime an alum speaks, they get in their comments about the one negative thing that they may have said or done 10 years ago that has no relevance to what they're talking about. Now there is too much of an appetite for gotcha moments. There is too much of a desire to, uh, fan the flames and to poke the bear and share feed clips. And, uh,

[00:54:21] also one of the things that I have never understood is if you don't like me, why are you commenting on something I post? I was on a TV show 20 years ago. Just lose my number. Don't follow me. You do not need to remark. I am nothing to you. I, I am a complete stranger from a very long time ago. And the fact that you feel like you need to comment on this speaks to a very serious problem, um, with your mental health. But then,

[00:54:51] so I do think you're onto something. I think, I think the fans are very much to blame. Uh, but then I was also reminded of something. I've always been a polarizing character, um, uh, in, in my life and not just on television, not just on social media, but, but in day to day living. And, um, I was reminded of a theory that I had about myself, um, recently as I've been getting, you know, uh, mostly very nice comments and then some negative comments. And I'm trying to figure out what's the difference.

[00:55:21] Why do some people seem to be really enjoying what I'm putting out there? And then other people seem to be hating it so much. And what I remembered was that smart people with a sense of humor and any taste whatsoever like me. And stupid morons tend to be like me. And stupid morons tend to not like me because the stupid morons cannot keep up with the speed of my cleverness and creativity and thoughts. So if you're watching the show,

[00:55:49] you have self-selected as a smart, creative person with a great sense of humor and great taste. So congratulations to you. You probably already knew this about yourself because you are sane and because you make jokes and because you have happiness in your life. And if you are not watching this or hear this and it's starting to make you really angry, you're thinking, I don't like what he's saying. That's not true about me. Then you have proven my point. So thank you. Yes.

[00:56:19] Okay. All right. Well, good to know. Yeah. I'm, you know, after one week of a couple of decent comments on the summer of Stenna, I'm feeling myself. Feeling it. You know? Okay. All right. Um, let's talk about, uh, Rick Devins in the house. And, uh, I wanted to get your thoughts on this dig that Jason made about Rick Devins. Here we go. I might just have to kiss a slouchy Adam Sandler wannabe ass.

[00:56:47] What do you think about the disparaging comment of calling Rick Devins a slouchy Adam Sandler wannabe ass? I mean, if that's describing Rick Devins, then how would he describe me? I have bad posture. I'm an Adam Sandler wannabe. I'm an ass. Yeah. do you think that, uh, that's, that's, save the insult for when he meets me at the bars after this. Yeah. Yeah. I feel like out of this panel, Rick Devins is,

[00:57:16] is the least Adam Sandler wannabe of the three of us. Absolutely. Absolutely. I mean, I, I, I guess I've also been called a, um, a slouchy Jason Biggs wannabe ass a few times. Uh, and Andy Samberg, you know, basically anyone of, of small to medium stature, uh, with a larger nose. Um, I don't know. I don't know though, if this is supposed to be about his brand of comedy or his appearance.

[00:57:47] Never once have I looked at Devins and thought to myself, this man reminds me of Adam Sandler. Yeah. Yeah. No, he does not really sure like, and I, and I too used to, especially way back, uh, when used to get out of like, uh, a Adam Sandler, uh, impersonator. I, I once, one time at universal studios was there with my wife and somebody who worked at universal studios, uh, told me that, uh,

[00:58:15] they won't tell anybody that Adam Sandler's brother is here. Um, but Rick Devins, I do think that Jason did kind of, in that Rick Devins does, I feel like have the Adam Sandler, like body type and wardrobe, uh, that, uh, neither of us have. Yeah, he does. He does have a little bit of a, um, a casualness about him. We'll say that, that, um, he, he does, he does give off like, uh,

[00:58:45] a vibe of like, you know, I'm here, I'm not trying too hard. And, um, you know, I think it's more the fact that, um, people don't like when people make jokes, um, when Rick is doing well, Jason is not doing well. I think that's really the core problem here. Yeah. It's just that, you know, Devins is, is in, not in danger. So he's able to joke around and be his natural self. And it's tough when you're on, on your back foot, you know, right from the very beginning,

[00:59:14] I'm sure Jason does not feel like he's able to like, give his best, um, self. I think it's a mediocre insult. I don't think Rick would be very offended by it. I think he might take it as a compliment potentially, but it's interesting that you would bring this up because I was thinking about big brother doppelgangers this week. Oh, because, um, I, I can't get over the fact that it appears as if melody is being portrayed by the famous actress, Amanda Seyfried in the house. I mean, this is like a very, very,

[00:59:44] very good lookalike. And it got me thinking, uh, uh, about other big brother doppelgangers through the years. I was thinking we had, um, Jack and Jason Momoa, my brother, Cody and John Travolta. We had, uh, Cassie Colvin and Olivia Wilde, uh, Liz Nolan and Julia Nolan. That's true. They, they look quite similar. You know, Mickey looks like Steve from Minecraft and, and Danny Brionis looks like that very pretty actress, Busy Phillips.

[01:00:14] Yes. Um, and you know, it, it just got me thinking that there have been many, uh, I, this is no one, you know, is going to know what I'm talking about here, but Lyric also looks just like one of the kids from step by step, almost, uh, almost identical. So I, you know, I just, I, I'm, I'm here for some doppelganger comedy. Um, I don't really see it with Devin's, but I'm, you know, it's like a five out of 10 insult. It's okay. Maybe that's a segment we could do in the future of, uh,

[01:00:44] big brother doppelgangers past and present. I would like that rate the doppelganger. Yeah. Okay. Then let's, uh, talk about, okay, I think I'm going to need, uh, some help here because, uh, we have, uh, Ashley talked about the lettuce from the big brother house. Now, Brandon, do we have a clip for this? And if we do, uh, could we, could we show it?

[01:01:15] Because, uh, I, I do not have the link to that clip. Yeah. I sent it in the, it's in the chat to the right. Do you want me to show it or you want to show it? Okay. If you have it, that might be quicker. Oh, Sam's got it. Okay. All right. I hear, here. I think I could do it. Okay. All right. So here is, um, Eric, we had, um, some news about the lettuce this week, uh,

[01:01:44] that they said that Taylor Farms was responsible for not Taylor in the house. Or Taylor Hall or Taylor Hall. Okay. All right. Here, here's a clip of, uh, let's, let's see what's going on here with, uh, Ashley talking about the lettuce. And set the rocket straight. This current house guy season of big brother, we were actually in fact informed of the diarrhea, cha, cha,

[01:02:11] cha bacterial bowel movements of the fruit herbs and or lettuce. Now, whether we chose yes or no to proceed in the eatery of it, it was fully up to us. And so whenever I was chowing down on a little lettuce, hold the lettuce, turkey, cheese, extra mayo sandwich. I, you know, did in fact hold the lettuce. I was like, man, this really sucks. I'm missing out on that crunch, that hydration. I really do quite enjoy. But however, as I'm making it, my fellow has got to like, girl, it's fine. Like, it's fine. I'm eating it.

[01:02:41] Girl, you better not be eating it. We share a bathroom, a toilet up in there. I do not want to have to clench because you can't do so. I feel like we were deprived of a, a, a potential big brother legend here. Right. She has such a good storyteller, such a way with words, such a funny way of describing it. I saw her, uh, this week talking about like jokes on my fellow house guests while they're all stuck in the house. I'm able to come out here and eat taco bell,

[01:03:09] which had just been reported as, uh, you know, potentially being a part of the, uh, parasite problem. I think she has a great sense of humor. Uh, and I am putting in a vote today before everyone forgets who she is. I want to see you go on the Oregon trail with Ashley trail, make it happen. Rob, you have a whole platform, get Pooja, get anybody. It's fine. Who else should go on the Oregon trail with Ashley trail? What is that?

[01:03:38] Who else should be in the Oregon trail? Who do you want to see her play the Oregon trail with? Oh, anybody. I think, you know, she should go into influencing and content creation. Yes. not Rome, not Rome. I didn't hear her say one word about an imaginary future in law that she's going to, you know, terrorize. Right. I feel like all of her content seems to be about what food she ate or

[01:04:05] didn't eat or wants to eat one day. She really seems to. Or very diarrhea forward. Yeah. Which is funny. Yeah. You know, it's content that works for everybody. It's relevant. Yeah. I like it. Food, lifestyle blogger. Let's make it happen. I love it. All right. And then I think we have another clip here. Mallory has what at home? Do I have a link for this one? You remember Mallory?

[01:04:34] They call her the pipe queen, Eric. I don't remember. Just like, I also am struggling with several of the other house guests who have not been given. I feel like we haven't seen Barrett or Taylor or Yash in several days since, since some of the storylines have shifted. I'm not sure what we're missing. Okay. All right. Here's a clip. Baller and Valerie. Mallory has what at home? Let's, let's play this clip. Guys,

[01:05:02] why can't we just all have boyfriends in here and just triple date the whole time? I got hoes at home. I'm trying to fucking win. Why can't we just... She says she has hoes at home? She did say that. So, I guess I'm interpreting that to mean that she does not need that to be the focus of her big brother experience. Or perhaps she's otherwise engaged and it would be inappropriate to do so. I mean, I say go Mallory, you know?

[01:05:32] Hey. Get it girl. Okay. All right. And then, what's this? Oh, we had, I guess, was this a triple kiss that happened here with Jason and Rome? That's nice. Seal the alliance with the kiss. Mm-hmm. Yeah. How'd Jason get in the mix here? I really don't know. It looks nice. Brandon, do you have a clip of this?

[01:06:02] Okay. All right. I guess we're, we're going to, all right, we're going to see the video. Okay, here we go. Let's, let's watch this. All right. Okay. All right. A Rome kiss of Jason. We're going to keep the love triangle. Okay. Wow. Imagine they were all on the block together too. That would be even better. Star-crossed lovers. Rome's face just gets dead serious afterwards.

[01:06:33] Where do they find this guy? I, I am sad that we are going to be losing someone from this group this week. The more big personalities better. I can't remember ever sealing an alliance with a three-way kiss. Did you and Max then? No, no, no, no, no. But, you know, back in, back in my survivor days and, you know, I,

[01:07:03] I w I was in an alliance with, uh, two young women and, and they would say things to me about, um, and I think that they felt like that, um, um, I, I was very easily manipulated and they would say things to me like, oh yeah. Yeah. Like after the season is over. Oh my God. I'm like, I don't believe, I don't believe anything. Uh, you all are saying to me.

[01:07:32] Um, but that, you know, but never on the, it was like, oh, always like later, but you could imagine what it would be like. You could imagine. I'm like, I don't know. I don't know about that. Okay. The, the, the, the part that it makes, makes me laugh the most is that here today I say to myself, like, that's kind of embarrassing for them. Like we would never fall for that. But then I transport myself back to us then. And I think, you know,

[01:08:01] that's probably was a pretty effective strategy by now. You're probably like, I know deep down, this is not going to happen. But what if there's like a 2% chance? Like what if I do the move they want me to do? And then it does. Right. Right. Okay. Eric, this week I have been told that you brought a game. Well, yes. Uh, you know, by, um, trade, I am a bit of a game designer, you know, and I, I thought it might be fun if we,

[01:08:29] we played a recurring segment where I brought you a game. Um, I will tell you about some of the games that were rejected from, from this week's puzzle. the first game I workshopped was called ABC or D, D the house guest. Yes. And it was a multiple choice game where the answer was always D. Um, for example, who is the winner of survivor 45? Was it a Angela B Barrett? C I don't know who starts with C or D D. And the answer was D D. But, uh,

[01:08:59] the great team at RHAP said, let's go a different route. Let's ratchet it up a notch. Okay. That's right. Oh, we went into, you know, now I'm a big TV fan. So I went into the annals of game shows past and I found one that felt particularly appropriate for this year's house guests. Okay. Are we ready to bring in Eric's game? Uh, it's called don't forget the lyric. And then there's small text. What does the small text say? It says,

[01:09:29] uh, finish the lyric quotes or song. So what, I don't know if you are familiar with, don't forget the lyrics, but basically they would play you a familiar song and they would cut out at some point and you would need to provide the missing lyrics. So that's what we're doing here today. But all of the great quotes and singing will be provided by our friend, the future influencer lyric. Okay. All right. I'm so interested to see where this goes. Okay. Are we ready to go to the first, the first? Well, to be honest with you,

[01:09:59] your guess is as good as mine, because while I did have the idea for the game, I can't, I can't say that I did all the work here. So, you know, I'm curious to see where it goes also. Okay. All right. And then Brandon, are you standing by to give any further instruction for us? I'm standing by. So the first slide you'll see will be the prompt. And then if you click again, you'll see the multiple choice options. Okay. All right. So Eric has the answer key. All right. Eric has the answer key. All right.

[01:10:28] I've watched them so many times myself when I personally vetted these quotes that I know the answers by heart. Okay. All right. Here we go. All right. So this is from, I guess, from one of lyrics, aforementioned social media videos. She says, I am your daughter. You listen to me. Give me your blank. I'm going shopping. Is this a song? How does this work, Eric?

[01:10:57] Well, I don't know. Yeah. The other ones are not songs. This is, is a song that lyric wrote herself. Okay. It is a parody of a Meghan Trainor song. And she, okay. She wrote it. Give me your daughter. That's exactly what I was going to say. I knew. You listen to me. He's just saying it for me. Give me your blank. I'm going shopping. Is it a wallet, please be debit card. See credit card.

[01:11:27] As the lights go off in my house or D life savings. You look great in the dark. Thank you. I'm so happy that, uh, an homage to me, that even through a power outage, the podcast, uh, continues. I see. Is your studio haunted? Potentially. Potentially. Generator checking in. Wow. Hmm. Okay. Nothing can take RHAP down. Eric, what is the answer?

[01:11:58] Oh, you have to guess, sir. Uh, oh, you know, you know, uh, give me your, okay. So let's see. I am your daughter. You listen to me. I don't like that. Give me your blank. I'm going shopping. Give me your life savings. That seems like a lot. Give me your, I don't think about that. I would say credit card. According to my answer key. I have it. Yeah. Okay. Give me your debit card. No kid is saying,

[01:12:27] can I have your debit card? No kid is saying, please also. so life savings. It's rude. All right. All right. So you're moving to round round two. Okay. All right. Here is, here is lyric. And here she is with Chuck. And she says, back home. I'm kind of on the blank side. Oh, I'm worried. I'm worried. Don't sell lyric.

[01:12:58] Did she say back home? I'm kind of on the, a bigger side. B quieter side. C the messier side. Or D the tanner side. I'm hoping that's like a full house reference. And not, I don't, I don't want to talk about anybody's skin color lyric. I hope it's not that. I'm going to say back home.

[01:13:28] I think that maybe she said to Chuck back home, she's on the, the quieter side. I hope that's what she said. I am sorry, sir. She is back home. It's kind of on the bigger side. Bigger side. I have no additional context. I have no idea what that means. I don't know if that's. Is there any context for lyric? I have the, I have the clip. She's telling Chuck about how a lot of the women where she lives are smaller than her is what the, is what the conversation was and,

[01:13:57] and Chuck and Yash are there and they can't believe it. They're really to hear that. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. I would, I, I do find that to be surprising revelation. She, she's quite petite. And, and I would probably five foot four, right? I'm not going to weigh in on this, but okay. We'll say that maybe this is a flirt game. Yeah. This could be sort of like when we talked about that, Ashley said last week, what?

[01:14:27] I didn't even know that there were live feeds in the house. And then everybody's like, what? Or Ashley saying, I never had a hamburger before where she's like, Oh yeah, back home. I'm a, I'm on the bigger side. And they're like, what? Not you. Come on. What are you talking about? Okay. She's a mastermind. All right. All right. Then we have Roman lyric in the bed. Rome says, I love you so much, baby. My beautiful girl, my baby.

[01:14:57] I'm so proud of you. How did the lyric respond? All right. Let's see what our options are here. Let me text this to my wife. I love you so much, baby. My beautiful girl, my baby. I'm so proud of you. I would be nearly certain that if I texted this out to, my wife, that she would be somewhere between deeply concerned and outright disgusted.

[01:15:26] I think she would either say, are you, is something wrong? Are you okay? Something wrong. Or she would say like, what did you do? Mm-hmm. Okay. All right. Um, we said, lyrics said, uh, okay. Lyrics said, me too. Lyrics said, me. Or lyric says, why? Why? Uh, I'm, I'm so proud of you too. Uh,

[01:15:57] and, I'm wondering if she said me too. She came back with the very romantic, why? Why do you think these things? Why do you think these things? You know what? I'm glad we played this game because now I'm thinking I might have become an unironic lyric stan. I, I, I think lyric may have these boys wrapped around a finger. You know, last week we were thinking that, uh, Amanda Seyfried was the one who was onto the next level gaming, but it's actually seeming like maybe lyric,

[01:16:27] uh, she could be really good. Maybe the one with some other things cooking here. I, I mean, I think that it's not the lettuce, the other, the people on the other side of the house. I think that lyric has the highest ceiling upside of being the big brother legend. I don't think it's going to be, I don't think it's going to be melody, Mallory, Taylor, Lala, Josh, Yash. Like it's not going to be any of these people.

[01:16:55] The one person that I think could be the generational big brother player is lyric thoughts. Maybe in the way that Raven was potentially. Oh no, I legit think she could be good. You think she's going to be a legit strategic force on the show? I think she's going to, uh, headed on a path to a, you know, seventh to ninth place finish. Most likely. We'll see. We'll see. I think that without Rome, I think that she could really do some damage. Cause what, what is she? The thing is though,

[01:17:24] what is she going to do in the context of this house to these people? Because it's all about the environment you're playing in. Right. And what, how is she going to bamboozle? And, and I know people say, Oh, she did this week. Eh. When she seduces Chuck. Angela and Devin's. These are, these people, they're not going to be it. Yes. Chuck. Sure. Sure. Right. I now pronounce you Chuck and lyric. That's the game for next week. To go with this game. Yes. Yes.

[01:17:54] All right. Adam Sandler, wannabe ass. Okay. All right. Uh, is this it? Is that the last one? I have no more slides. That was the last one. That was the whole game. Three, three rounds of don't forget the lyric. Okay. All right. Eric, we're heading into our live eviction tonight, a blockbuster. So much to look forward to coming up here in this big week. Uh, who do you think gets the BB time capsule? Do you have a prediction?

[01:18:22] I think it's probably going to be Devin's. That would be my guess. You know, a lot of times they're very influenced by the TV edit. We've seen an awful lot of him on the show so far coming off of back to back competition wins. Um, I think his, his fandom is still relatively intact. I don't think any of the newbies, uh, I did hear you guys sort of like theorizing that Rome might be a possibility.

[01:18:49] I do not think the core base of fans are there for Rome yet. Yes. Sometimes we like an, an underdog, but I don't know. I, I, I kind of feel like we're being edited to favor the overdogs. They do not really want the underdogs, uh, to be, you know, rooting against Angela. They, they spent their hard earned pennies to bring Angela back into the house. So I'm, I'm expecting Devin's. I, I must say, I did not like the way that on the one hand,

[01:19:18] it's somewhat more fair than they historically have done. But the fact that it's just at random, whether it would be a punishment or a prize, I thought was bizarre because you go to the trouble of having a fan vote and then it's, it's meaningless. You are, you are, you know, like electing the person to have a 50, 50 outcome, which does not seem to really be helping them. Now. I understand being in an egg costume, it's not in any way negatively affecting her game, which is good. It's not like weighted in a disproportionate way,

[01:19:48] but, uh, I, I still think though, somehow magically it will be Devin's and it will actually be a true prize this time. I just can't see it just being punishment, punishment, punishment. Although I supposedly, you know, at random. Yeah. I mean, I will say, and people can scoff that I did hear on, uh, from a, a reliable source that, that it, this is on the up and up and that there is, uh, a,

[01:20:18] they just wanted something that was quick and that's why they do it this way. It would be funny if, uh, the three most popular people go in and get all the punishments right away. And then, and then some more unusual or unlikely characters were to win some, uh, game changing stuff later on. I think that would be exciting. It was odd. It was very late in the episode when the segment happened. And then I was wondering like, how are we going to fit it all in? Doesn't she have a competition to play still? Yeah. It was very, very quick.

[01:20:45] It will be interesting if say D gets it and then Rick Devins gets it. And then it, then it'll be really open season of like, I mean, yeah, but if they get it and they actually get powers, I think it's curtains for the season. Unfortunately, I know that people are thinking that they showed some flaws, um, this week. And that's like, Oh, okay. You know, like they're not, you know, impenetrable, but they have a lot in their favor. They have a lot of experience and a lot of numbers on their side.

[01:21:15] And there needs to be someone who can stop it, you know? And if they get extra additional powers that can maybe correct a little bit of a mistake or a mess or overturn someone else's power or something like that. I, so, um, I'm, I'm hoping that there's a lot of mess and a lot of shenanigans because I'm not sure that this is going to be the season that we have the back and forth game that we're hoping. Yeah. Eric, uh, did anybody reach out to you from the, uh,

[01:21:43] cowboy Michael Cruz after last week's episode? I did have several people reach out to me regarding if I should reconsider and go on the cruise. Um, several alum approached me about sharing a cabin, um, and, and thought that perhaps I was being a little hasty about the whole situation. Um, I did not hear from any of the, uh, you know, the key figures, um, which, you know, I was, I was banking on that. They might not be listening. Okay.

[01:22:12] Summer of Stein week one. All right. Well, we are so excited to have you here two weeks in. We hope you come back next week for more Summer of Stein next Thursday. I am feeling good. I am happy to be here. Uh, I, I know my shtick is, is that of being, you know, dragged, uh, feet kicking and, and so forth, but I feel reinvigorated. Um, it's good to be back getting bullied by alum by having fans tell me I, I suck. Yeah. And, uh,

[01:22:42] and so on, so on and so forth. So I am, I am happy to be here, but I, I want some more action. I want some more action. You know, before we got on today, I thought, what even happened this week? You know, like, okay, they got into a fight, whatever. Devin's won a couple of competitions. Did you want to talk about the sitar man? Oh, the part that I thought was funniest about that is like, we abandoned after one week that we're going to bring the alum in. Like they, they couldn't have had rock star playing one or something, you know, like where, where, and then also since they have no idea who, how he is,

[01:23:12] you know, that they're sitting there thinking like, like big brother 17, you know, what's going on here? Do you think that we had an alumni sitting there, uh, who then flaked? Yeah. It's like Steve Moses was there or something. Well, I also feel that we kind of abandoned the premise of there being like a reason to do the timetable. Like it just seems like, okay, we're randomly going somewhere. Like we had the whole thing with the veto of how we came in and we need to go to the future.

[01:23:42] Will's taken over. We had like a very elaborate reason. And I don't know if there was any sort of context or pretext of why we needed to go to 1992 and go to a honky tonk bar. Why did we need to go to 1967? How it attaches to these puzzles in any way. It's like, they just decided like the art design was like, Oh, well, that's good. We'll just like draw some hippie stuff or whatever. I mean, this is the, the same show that once introduced a, uh,

[01:24:11] season long takeover that they abandoned two and a half weeks in and never mentioned again. It's not like, you know, they had a song for it and everything. So it is not, um, really, I don't know why we're surprised, but it is completely incoherent. Like, I think if we started, like maybe we need to get out of the whiteboard next week and start like drawing lines to where they're going and why, because the plot is definitely lost. We did maybe lose the plot. All right. But we have not lost the plot here on Summer Stein. Oh no, we lost the plot a long time ago, but that's, that's,

[01:24:40] that's what we're here for. Anything else you want to let people know, Eric? Uh, nope. I am feeling good. Happy to be here. Excited to see everyone next week. All right. Thanks so much for joining us. Uh, we will be live Thursday night. We've got Morgan Pope joining us for the live eviction show on Thursday night. Plus check out everything else that we had going on this week,

[01:25:03] including the slop where Chappelle and I and special guest Kat Dunn explored a lot of the big brother alumni drama and everything else going on in the big brother multiverse. Thank you so much for joining us. Take care of a good one. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye.
