Britney Haynes Talks BB28 Thursday Eviction Ep Recap, Week 8 Also available on YouTube. Big Brother 28 heads into another tense week as the Icons alliance continues to hold power, but cracks are starting to show. Rob Cesternino and Taran Armstrong are joined by Pooya and Britney Haynes for a Thursday night recap, diving into [β¦][00:00:08] Hey everybody, what's going on? Rob Sestrino back here for a huge Thursday night of Big Brother. The blind side didn't come, but we've got a great recap for you anyway. Here with us to talk about it, of course, Taron Offspring. Taron, how are you? I'm doing great, Rob. That was quite an episode. It was a very exciting blockbuster.
[00:00:33] I don't know how exciting the result was, but it was certainly an interesting episode with an interesting result, and there's a lot to talk about. Yes, a lot to break down on a big night. Let me also bring in, of course, getting ready to cover all of the live feed actions and shenanigans. Puyo Zambekeli. Puyo, how are you? Doing good. Always a pleasure to be here on a Thursday night. So, yeah, I'm excited to recap and maybe complain a little bit.
[00:01:01] We'll complain for sure because we have an incredible guest that we will have nothing to complain about, but we are blessed to be joined here. Fresh off of episode 1000, the great Brittany Haynes is here. Brittany, how are you? Hi, thanks for having me. I'm well. Ding, ding, ding, ding. Ding, ding, ding. Yes, yes. Yes. Brittany, how are you doing?
[00:01:26] I'm just great. Just wonderful. Excited. Thanks for having me. I appreciate it. Well, we're so thrilled to have you back to talk about everything from tonight. And what a big week it was celebrating the 1000 episodes of Big Brother. Yes, yes. I was very excited to go and see everybody, see people that I haven't seen in a million years. It was a lot of fun. It was a little exhausting, but it was a very good time. And I got to host a competition for the first time.
[00:01:55] It was very... You've never hosted a comp. No. One time I was bamboozled by production into believing that I was going to be hosting a competition. And really, I was there to celebrate two other individuals getting engaged. And I just got to carry in a vase of sunflowers. And it was a real buzzkill on my life. So being able to actually, for real though, like it wasn't a trick. I wasn't tricked. I wasn't deceived or fooled. I got to really host the comp. Very exciting.
[00:02:21] Okay. We have a million questions about all that and your experience last week. We also had an eviction tonight where it could have been Rick Devins, who unbeknownst to him, was this close to going home. What an exciting night of the blockbuster. But instead, it is Lala. And Taryn, Rick Devins has no idea he came... He was this close to going out of the house. So close. And I mean, that blockbuster was really close.
[00:02:52] So he's... Yeah, at this point still has no idea that not only was there a plan in place to blindside him, but that basically the entire house wanted to... It's literally... It's only Devins and Drew that don't have any idea how close this was. Yeah. Brittany, I need Rick Devins to somehow find out that this almost happened. Well, he will because everybody will want to throw everybody else into the bus or they'll at least like make accusations.
[00:03:19] But it's just annoying. There's no justice in this world. How do we even keep moving on? He volunteered to be on the block. What he deserved was then to be evicted as a result. It didn't happen because he's good at putting balls in a tube. What can you do? This is big brother. Yeah. Yeah, when we saw the comp today, it was like, okay, this is feeling like this is in Rick Devins' wheelhouse. Although Taylor made it way more closer than we expected. Yeah, she was. She did good. She was close.
[00:03:49] And I think that she got really tired at the end. Like you could tell that she was just exhausted from the trips up and down the stairs. But it was close. It was a nail-biter. I was in a real low point afterwards, but I bounced back. Yeah. Talk us through the low. You wanted to see one of the survivors go out? I'm not even that picky. I just want any icon to feel some heat. And frankly, as the game continues forward, their strength in numbers gets more and more powerful.
[00:04:17] And I see it as being more and more difficult to overcome as the weeks go on. Not to mention that Dee in particular is a very, you know, good at all of these competitions. I would be scared to go against her, frankly, in anything. And especially when she has potentially up to three chances to save herself. I think it's going to be really, really difficult to get rid of her. I just wanted the icons to feel some heat. And I wanted there to be Max Drama. I'm just team Max Drama.
[00:04:44] I'm not. It's not even a specific like, oh, I, you know, wanted this person to go. I'm just I'm just kind of sick of picking off of the other side. I get it. And there was heat, but Rick didn't feel it, which was the issue. Taryn, we did see, though, tonight that Rick Devins told us in the diary room for the first time that he was considering taking Drew and Barrett to the final five. And I do wonder if there could be some sort of icon civil war that's looming. Yeah, it was and apparently is. Right.
[00:05:13] So this is something that D was worrying about. There was a joke that Devins told in front of Drew and Barrett that was like, hey, don't forget about what Lyle about last week. Like what he did last week. And D was like that. That joke is a sign that he's not. And me and a lot of other people were like, come on. Devins has been talking to the camera and he wants to sit next to D in the final two. One little joke isn't going to change that.
[00:05:40] But it turns out he was right that that joke perhaps was a sign. And Devins really is thinking along those lines, which means Devins is looking to potentially take D out down the line. And he was definitely looking to take out Devins as early as night. So it'll be interesting. Yeah. Yeah. Are we in a position now where I got to hope for a Devins HOH just so that all the things get messier?
[00:06:05] If we're if we're rooting for Brittany's maximum mess, what is our maximum mess, Brad? Because let me tell you, it's not Yash winning because that's just that's not mess. That's just tragic is what's going to happen. You can't nominate anybody better. Right. Yash. Yash is going to continue to throw it. I think I don't think we're at any risk of him winning it because he's going to throw it knowing that he can't nominate the icons. Anyways, he's going to become essentially worthless in terms of an HOH competition for ever at this point.
[00:06:35] Well, this was the second week in a row that we got to see Barrett show up on Thursday. Tell us about how I'm ready to flip the vote. Here we go, baby. It's time for the blind side. And then for the second week in a row, the person that Barrett is ready to blind side ends up winning the blockbuster, preventing Barrett from. Yes. Yes. Brittany, what's your feeling about Barrett at this hour?
[00:07:02] Um, my affection is very cheap and Barrett talks really nicely about me. That's I love there. It's really easy, really easy and simple. He says all sorts of flattering things about me through as well. So naturally, um, I like these two individuals. However, um, I will say, you know, in terms of going after the icons, it's in my opinion, it took way too long for that side of the house to kind of come together on this idea.
[00:07:32] And like I said, going forward, numbers are just getting lower and lower and it's going to be more and more difficult. And I don't think that the icons like this week in particular, I don't think if one of them, when they show age, they will take the shot this week. I think that we'll have another like wasted week so that they can kind of pick away at those numbers. The only way that I see it kind of coming back on Barrett at this point would be if an icon won and was waffling between like a renom, I could see one of them selling out the other one. Right.
[00:08:00] Like I could see Drew saying, Hey, just so you know, Rick Devins, Barrett was for sure going to vote you out. I could see it coming out kind of in that way and it probably will in that situation, but it'll be everybody selling out each other. The only safe people in that situation would be Angela and Dee because they kept it between themselves. Let's talk through the vote a little bit.
[00:08:23] Taryn, I was a little confused as the episode was playing out that we had a four to two vote where it seemed like that maybe Angela was a sympathy vote for Lala. But Melody also votes to evict Taylor in that spot. Did everything go according to plan? No, not at all. In fact, there was a world here where Taylor was going to be evicted.
[00:08:52] Basically, Yash and Melody both wanted to evict Taylor over Lala because they felt like Taylor was a worse competitor than Lala and that Lala would help them out more in competitions. And at the same time, Angela and Dee both wanted to keep Lala over Taylor because they both felt like Lala was more with them than Taylor was.
[00:09:18] So with that in mind, that's four different people that are all wanting to keep Lala over Taylor. The problem is that they're four different people, but two of them are both separated from the other two. They're on different sides. So how do they communicate this? Well, Melody tried to flip Drew and Drew heard from Barrett that Yash and Melody did want this to happen.
[00:09:43] And so Drew told Dee and Angela that Yash and Melody were trying to flip the vote. Dee and Angela were like, OK, then we can do this with Yash and Melody as long as Yash and Melody are actually going to vote this way. Barrett, though, did not seem to want to do it. And Barrett is a big blocker in this. Barrett tried to convince Melody earlier today that they wouldn't stop having the votes because the vet really wanted Lala to go.
[00:10:12] And Angela and Dee were worried that Yash and Melody, who they haven't talked to, would perhaps not actually vote that way. The plan was the last time we saw that Angela and Dee would talk to Yash and Melody about voting out Taylor right at the last minute, depending on what happened with the blockbuster, which of course happened. But instead of them talking to Yash and Melody, we saw them talking to Barrett.
[00:10:39] And Barrett seems to be telling them something along the lines of like, the votes aren't there, don't do it. Then Barrett also told Yash the votes aren't there, don't do it. Barrett then or the Yash then didn't vote for Taylor to go. And Melody, who probably didn't get the memo, still did. And then we saw Barrett explaining it in the post-credits scene as well, that like, oh yeah, we couldn't trust that Angela would actually be in on it.
[00:11:04] So like, there's very much a world where Taylor was supposed to be evicted tonight. And if they had had just a little bit more time to talk to one another, it would have actually happened. But it didn't. So is this a net negative for the icons? It's, I mean, it's complicated. It's very bad for Angela because she had the votes to keep Lala here.
[00:11:33] And Lala is so good for Angela's game. But unfortunately, like it just, it didn't play out. Like it was right there in their hands and it just slipped right through Angela's hands. And now she lost one of her best assets in the game in Lala for somebody like Devins. You know, who knows, right? They all think Lala is a better competitor, but we all also just watched that blockbuster where it was Taylor that nearly beat Devins and sent him home. And Taylor is very loyal to Yash.
[00:12:03] So that's good for Yash, even though we also kind of wanted Taylor gone because he felt like Lala was a better competitor. There's so many different pros and cons. And this week has been so complicated in terms of who is good for who and what is happening and who's deciding what. And are they on the same page to the point where, as we just saw, like this, this eviction might not have happened if there were like 30 more seconds for them to speak. So like, is it good for them? Is it bad for them? It's certainly bad for Angela.
[00:12:33] But for everyone else, who knows? That's chaos, right, Brittany? I guess. But it's not like that exciting of chaos. Yeah. Not Max. I wasn't even not Max. I wasn't even like that worried between, you know, in a perfect world. I wanted really the chaos that I was looking forward to was if Angela and D decided to also vote against Rick Devins.
[00:13:00] The shock on his face when he realized that even they didn't vote to keep him in that scenario. I wasn't even like that picky between Taylor and Lala. So it's not it wasn't it wasn't going to rock my world either way. I think that they're probably, in my opinion, about the same level of competition competency. I realized that Lala has won more than Taylor. But I don't know.
[00:13:27] They seem kind of like like we saw Taylor do very well in that competition against Devins. I mean, she really, you know, probably a couple millimeters away from actually beating him in that competition. Whereas like Lala wasn't really even close. So I don't know. I wasn't right. Which when you have a thousand pickleballs coming at you and you're just holding up a pickle, I feel like you have to work against the balls to actually miss them all.
[00:13:57] Like that doesn't even I don't even know how that's about. Did she understand it as like a dodging game? I'm not sure she did. She did later say that she was lost some of the time. So maybe that perhaps was one of the times. But, you know, neither of them was I like, oh, they're a powerhouse competitor. We must keep them. So, you know, I was really hung up on the idea that Rick Devins might get blindsided. That was really my only focus going into tonight.
[00:14:25] I think that's something that's desperately missing is I need the crossovers to have one of the many rough weeks. Haley, meaning something needs to go wrong for them at least once. So that right. So that in this moment where it is Lala versus Taylor, some somewhat of an inconsequential vote for a lot of them. Ultimately, there is push because you do get we do have that window of 30 seconds that is available for people to use. That has basically become exclusively safe for hugging. Now, that's the hugging hour.
[00:14:55] It's absolutely essential. One must hug after every official. Of course, if there is is something is officially announced. It's hug time. It's not it's it's not optional. One must go in for the hug. I don't know what would actually happen. I can't even explain to you how it feels. It's just something in your bites. It's intuition at its finest. Human intuition says this ceremony has now ended. It is time for me to get up and hug every person here.
[00:15:26] Well, Brittany, you were you were standing at the top of a castle hosting that competition. Did you feel the the draw? Were you like, oh, no, I can't hug them. I must air hug them like Julie did. I was like, how how do I send you hugs? How do I say? Because it's hug time, isn't it? I've just announced the rules to this competition. We should probably do one for good measure. It's always hug time. So, yeah, it's it's unfortunate that hug time took up all the strategy time. But rules are rules. Rules are rules.
[00:15:55] Intuition is intuition. Yeah. And D said her intuition was telling her to vote out Rick Devins. Brittany, do you feel like that? Once D and Angela had made up their mind, they wanted to vote out Rick Devins. Can they put that toothpaste back in the tube? Could they be working to not get Rick Devins evicted now that it didn't happen? They can put it back in the tube for as long as it's easy. Right. But the next time that they have any opportunity, they're absolutely going to take the next
[00:16:23] opportunity because he's only proven the concept that they're going to be difficult to get rid of him winning the blockbuster is kind of validating that in their minds. So I don't think that they're necessarily going to aggressively go after it this week or even the next. But should that opportunity represent itself and it's up there on a silver platter, I think they'll absolutely capitalize on it. And frankly, I don't know. The numbers aren't quite to where I would say it would go the other way as well, but it might.
[00:16:50] Like I could see Rick Devins having the exact same mentality when it came to Angela, who he probably considers that Angela and D are much closer than he is with Angela. That whole kind of thing. I could see any one of those icons taking that opportunity if it was available to them easily. But I don't see them like necessarily going out of their way to achieve that. It's not the clearest path forward. I'm starting to think that maybe we could even see like a D wins HOH in the double eviction
[00:17:20] and I could see her putting Rick Devins on the block. Yeah. Like a double eviction situation. And maybe also if you didn't have the blockbuster in play, the blockbuster is such a womp womp on your power as an HOH to get rid of somebody. So maybe it's got to come to a point where the blockbuster is no longer a thing. But I definitely think that there will come a point where, yeah, I mean, they're going to have to eat each other eventually. It's they they are all in the awareness that it's a much more difficult route to victory
[00:17:50] against one another than it is against anybody from the other side who's not going to have a fraction of the resume. And Brittany, who would be your maximum chaos HOH to find out is now the new HOH tomorrow morning? Um, good question. Probably Melody, because I think that any and Taylor as well might nominate all three icons.
[00:18:14] And I think that that would be immediate division and immediately cause a lot of chaos. But that being said, I could be surprised. There have been times where somebody won HOH and I was like, womp womp, we're in for a loser week. And then it turns out it was not half bad. So you never know. Taryn, what do you think? If there was a scenario where imagine this, all three icons end up nominated. Do you think that this would actually divide them?
[00:18:41] Or do you think that they might feel like, hey, backs against the wall, they might end up start working closer together?
[00:19:16] Yeah. Then, yeah, we're going to start to see a lot more finger pointing. And Pooja, you're going to have a decision to make in about an hour or so whether or not you're going to open a Red Bull tonight to watch the feeds till the sun comes up. And when that's happening, what will be your most preferred outcome? Honestly, I think for me, if a non-icon wins, I'm tuning it. I'm ready.
[00:19:45] That can is getting cracked. It's going to happen. That sounded violent. You'll wait. You'll find out who the HOH is before you pull the tab. You know me, Rob. I've made the mistake before of doing it now. And then I drink it. And then feeds go down for four hours. And then they come back at 1 a.m. And the worst outcome happens. And I'm stuck now. So I do wait now, especially because my sleep schedule is somewhat adjusted.
[00:20:12] I no longer have the stamina to withstand it. I do need to make the decision. But yeah, any non-icon HOH one would be fine by me, especially because Bruce is outgoing, so he's not in it. I think Melody would put up icons. I think Taylor would put up icons. I think Barrett would be fun because we know he'd put up icons and he'd have to break all of them. And then Yash can't put up icons, but he'll have to put up allies. And I think that would be extra chaotic also figuring out how to, you know, for him to navigate that. So there are a lot of good outcomes.
[00:20:42] Yeah. Meaning when feeds come back and Devin's won, I'm going bye-bye. I will tell you based on what I'm seeing right now, I'm here. I'm reading. So I can't confirm that this is true, but I'm reading that Dee and Angela are already talking about if they win, they would probably try to backdoor Drew or Barrett this week. Okay. Not surprising at all. I mean, that's expected, right? Yeah. Like, they're not going to... It makes more sense.
[00:21:11] I think the reason they were going to take out Devin's was because he was on the block. Oh, yeah. Because it was easy. Yeah. Exactly. They were worried he was working with Drew and Barrett. If they can just take out Drew or Barrett, that's better for them. Yeah. But if they... Will they enroll Rick Devins in doing that? Or they blindside him? I think they... Honestly, they probably could. Yeah. You know? They might blindside him for the sake of it, but I think if they gave him enough reasons, he would go for it.
[00:21:40] Especially because there are actually plenty of real reasons why you might do it to Barrett. And if you're Yash or Taylor or Melody on the block, you have plenty of reasons to rat Barrett out to save yourself. So there's a lot of room to maneuver you. I'd love to talk a little bit more about Barrett because, Brittany, I felt like that Barrett... I don't know what Barrett wants because in the episode tonight, we saw Barrett repeatedly.
[00:22:09] Like, they were going to Barrett and it's like, hey, Barrett, we trust you. But he's got to pick a lane because they shouldn't trust him. He's like, oh, I get it. You don't trust me. It's like, yeah, but you're also not trustworthy. You're also flippant against them. So you can't call them out for not trusting you when you are also voting against them. Okay, sure. I guess that's one school of thought.
[00:22:36] Or is he just like savvy and kind of playing everybody in a way that's like a good social game? Not that they don't. I mean, I think that they distrust him, but they know they need that number, right? And they are basically considering him like the easiest link to pull in for that number. But they think that they have him completely duped and fooled and he's not. You know, would you have more respect for him if he was just saying, okay, yeah, sure. You got it, Angela. No problem. I'm going to vote your way.
[00:23:06] Absolutely not. I think the fact that he is being at least has his eyes open and is aware. And frankly, him going to the other side is an act of self-preservation because he had the awareness from early on to say, I'm at the bottom of this. Sure. As long as it's easy, let's let this carry me. But I know I'm on the bottom. I know I'm the low hanging fruit that's going to be the first to go, which is why he chose to pivot. I respect that so much more than I respect somebody who just blindly follows along.
[00:23:36] And they are obviously like the lowest, you know, of the hierarchy of the alliance. And they never come to the awareness. I'm kind of talking about myself a little bit PTSD. And they never like really wake up to it and realize it. I like it that he had the reflection and the awareness to say, I got to pivot. And yes, he can play the middle. But really, they're the ones that are duped in this situation, not him.
[00:24:05] Because they think that he's a number and he isn't. I don't see the problem, Rob. What's the problem? I don't like that he's indignant about it. I don't like I just feel like be about it. So stop like being like, oh, like, yeah, I get it. You don't trust me. You know, like he has flipped. So like. Yeah. I mean, they are right not to trust him for sure.
[00:24:30] But also what they're doing is not honestly saying like, we don't know. We have some. They're trying to manipulate him. And I feel like that he's calling it out that that's what it is. Like when you saw the scene of them just randomly, you know, amassing in the storage room to do a group hug. He's calling it out that like this is so obvious. I like that a lot better than somebody who's just like, wow, that was so sweet. Angela came in to hug me. That was great. I really appreciated it.
[00:24:58] Like, like I kind of like that he's in the know about it as opposed to just being oblivious. Yeah. Like Rob, if for me, I'm I side with bringing others up because if you're going to manipulate me, do it so that I don't see it coming. Because once I know you're trying to manipulate me, I'm going to be indignant about it. I'm going to be very shady because like, how dumb do you think I am? Like really? Right. Like scam me. You know, like I want to be scammed. I do not. Don't do it lightly. Do it properly.
[00:25:26] He said to the cameras the other day, he said he called it from Angela when she came in saying, I trust you. He said that was acting for a low budget movie. Sure. Yeah, exactly. So, I mean. I don't know. I, I, I don't have a problem with it. I really don't. Like it's self-preservation for him. He's going to take whatever is the path of least resistance that week, even if it's, you know, against what he maybe would do in an ideal world.
[00:25:57] But of course, he's not going to just blow up his game and be like, no guys, actually, I hate you. And I don't trust you at all. Why would he do that? That's self-sabotage. Like he is still trying to stay in the game. Yeah. Now, we did get a little bit of a mastermind edit. I thought from Angela tonight, Taryn, when we got shades of Angela and her Angela senses. She looked outside and she could tell that it was Yash and Melody and Taylor talking.
[00:26:24] And shades of BB26, as Angela said, hey, they look too happy. That's the group, Rob. That's the group. That's the group. And she said, most of my reads were good on 26. We'll go with that. I don't know. Maybe we can count. Maybe we can tally up. But she's not wrong about this one. And she has been generally right.
[00:26:50] In fact, it was this morning that she said that she caught Yash, Melody, and Barrett talking, which made her think, I think Barrett's actually going to flip and vote out Devin. And she was right. Right. Now, what are they going to do with that? Now, it's still just a theory. It wasn't confirmed. So and then later they were like, maybe maybe he won't. I'm not sure. We're not. I'm not sure. But but Angela's paranoia is definitely correct in this instance. Yeah.
[00:27:20] Whatever happened, by the way, to the spy kitchen window? I noticed that when she was staring out the back glass, I was like, wait, there used to be that window in the kitchen where you had like a secret spy. Point of view over the whole backyard. And because she was like coming from the side. What happened to our spy window? It's just like floating shelving now. Good question. I wonder when that went away. When did it go away? We always had the spy window. It was great. Brittany, how are you feeling about Angela at this point in the game?
[00:27:52] She definitely made the right decision, I think, early on to link up with Devins and Dee. Angela, I think, was, you know, not this isn't shady, but I think she was included on the season for entertainment value. And I think that if you are someone who's entertained by Angela, you've probably been. I mean, she hasn't had a crazy like crazy eyes blow up, really. But she's given us like some lively moments. Yeah, she's given us some lively moments.
[00:28:19] So I would say that she's doing her job and probably making it further than maybe she ever anticipated that she would. And I think that she's in a good place of the icons because I think that she's perceived to be the least threatening between Devins and herself. So really, I think that she's in a pretty good place. Now, she keeps losing allies. Otherwise, that's not great. With Haley and now, obviously, Lala.
[00:28:44] But overall, you know, they've just had it really easy. Like, would I sit here and go, oh, wow, she has just navigated uncharted waters and done it like an expert? No, I think the icons have just had it really easy. But if you are someone who enjoys watching Angela for the entertainment value, I'm sure you are entertained sufficiently. Yeah. How about Drew, where he's the outgoing HOA?
[00:29:10] She had a weird moment in the episode tonight when he told Barrett about, hey, also, maybe you should stop wearing Mallory's headband on your arm. And then he said, why? Did Dee and Angela say something? And Drew's like, yeah. Psych, just kidding. No, they didn't. But you're sussing me out for that. And, like, Rick Devins had to, like, dress him down, like, do not do this again. Yeah. Do not do this again.
[00:29:39] Barrett was also very weirded out about this. Yeah. It's just a classic Drew move. Mm-hmm. Just joking around about dumb things for no reason. Yeah. Okay. And Devins, like, schooling him. He is fact-checking me. Okay. But that's not what Drew said. He's called it a headband. I'm quoting Drew.
[00:30:05] I think that doesn't change anything here for me, right? It's essentially the same thing. But, yeah, Drew is the classic. Like, Drew is, A, always the messenger, and B, always the most likely messenger to get shot. Like, I don't know how he does this and brings this upon himself, but the man loves to talk and talk too much and somehow will always be in a position where people are going to find it weird that he's doing it. And he hasn't learned it from, like, week one, week two. He hasn't learned it from week three.
[00:30:32] Here we are, less than a month left to the end of the season, and he's getting his own closest ally pressed about this. Let the man have his scrunchie. What are we doing here? Let him have his scrunchie. Yeah, Barrett fully believed this came directly from Angela and D, by the way. He did not think it came from Drew at all. So Drew did just get Angela and D. I mean, not that they're not in trouble with Barrett already, but it did just land on Angela and D there. Mm-hmm. Yeah.
[00:31:01] And his dad had to tell him, like, that was a bad move. Don't do that again. Well, yeah, because his dad's on the block and he's like, I need that guy. Yeah. So could you, like, shut it? We're his best friend. We love him and trust him. Hug time. Hug time. I don't like that we're calling him his dad after the things I've seen on this fan fiction world, Rob, this week. I'm like their baby. Yeah.
[00:31:28] Have you seen any fan fiction about Drew and Rick Devins together? Yeah, I have, but I don't like to talk about it right before bedtime. Right. Whatever. I need, yeah, I need, like, a lot of hours that separates me from slumber. Yeah, that's true. If we're going to bring that up. It's too late. It's too late in the night. I don't trust it. That tracks. That tracks. Yeah. Okay.
[00:31:57] The battle, I'm sorry, the blockbuster tonight. Taryn, this was another all-timer, I thought, in terms of the blockbuster, especially with Taylor going ahead and then having the kill shot on Rick Devins, being able to place the last ball, and then Rick having to come from behind to win. Yeah, this was really intense for a Big Brother competition. And I think a huge part of it, there were two major aspects, I think.
[00:32:27] One is that, like, usually you watch this competition and there's one person who just, like, steamrolls through it and nobody else is close, and that's lame. So the fact that it was neck and neck was great. It's good to have people of equal competition prowess. And then number two, we were able to see what was happening pretty much the whole time. They had this great wide shot of all three tubes that we were constantly cutting to.
[00:32:52] And so we watched, yes, as, like, Devins gets out to an early lead. Taylor catches up, but we know that if the timer runs out, the tiebreaker is that Devins got to two balls first. And so she's going to have to get a third one in, and I do wish we had a timer. I think that would have been nice to see. But then, yes, Taylor gets the third ball, and Devins still is down and stuck. He needs to get two balls in order to win now, and the time could run out at any moment.
[00:33:21] And Taylor's taking, like, a shot, and if she gets it in, it's over. And then Devins coming in with two in a row was just wild. I mean, it was really like he was so close to being evicted here. And you know what? You know, we don't get a lot of these in Big Brother, these, like, actually good competitions where you see what's happening, and it's neck and neck, and there are real consequences. So I soaked it in while I could.
[00:33:48] These blockbusters this season, they really have been neck and neck where there was the, of course, Angela versus Kamu versus Haley. There was the Chuck versus Haley versus Barrett also. And it's just been really, really great. Brittany, are you happy you didn't play in the blockbuster era? Yeah, because I'm not good at competition.
[00:34:16] So especially like a blockbuster competition. Well, that's not true. I guess they had the one that's like run around and look at the pictures. But normally they're like carnival game style, and it's way too, you know, it's a complete fluke sometimes. Like, who's going to win this thing? In particular, I disagree with any competition that involves a ball pit. Like, it's just stupid. I don't, I hate that double eviction veto. And this is slanderous because I was literally just visiting last week with the games guy.
[00:34:46] He's very nice. I don't like a ball pit. I hate that veto competition. It's always on the double eviction where they got to run down the lane and jump in the ball pit. Yes, I hate that competition. It favors someone with a higher body mass, period, end of story. It's not like the, you know, outsides of those little squares was like height compensated for the difference of, you know, what it's taking you to get over the wall and then dig through the balls.
[00:35:13] You are absolutely, the smaller you are, you are at a disadvantage in that competition, period. I think that Taylor did very well. And I'm not, you know, I guess it doesn't have to necessarily be fully physically equivalent on every competition. You can make that argument, I suppose. But this one is in particular one that's just, to me, you have an advantage if you have more physicality.
[00:35:39] And not that Rick Devins is like an athlete, let's be serious, but he's a bigger guy. It's going to be easier for him to dig through the balls and to get into the ball pit anyway. And Taylor was gassed at the end of that competition with an equivalent number of going in and out. And I mean, that's because that's not easy to do. Has a female ever won that veto? Can anyone pull that up for me? I don't think that they have ever. Lauren did last season. Okay, fine, Taryn.
[00:36:07] Come in with the hard facts, Taryn. But that was Big Bang 27. It took a long time. Well, you know, I have visions of Frank Udi just freaking leaping over, you know what I mean? Like hurtling over the thing. And we were like desperate to get this man out. I just don't have a good association with the ball pit comps. I don't like them. I just don't. You're very right. I mean, like this competition and the clown shoe iteration of it. Yes.
[00:36:36] It does tend to favor larger athletic guys most of the time. But certainly athletic women can also perform pretty well in this. And I do think for what it's worth, too, that like I think that Taylor was still moving faster than Devin's was. But he was getting the balls faster, which I think speaks to a couple of things. One is, yeah, I think like sheer body mass.
[00:37:02] You're going to be able to move balls and find them more easily, which clearly was the case. He also knew the strategy of try to collect as many as you can ahead of time. Yeah, I can put on right there. Drew let him know about that. Yeah. But thanks, Drew. Yeah. Him getting those balls faster, I think gave him like one full extra shot over Taylor after they had tied, which obviously was the shot he needed to win.
[00:37:30] And so, you know, yeah, like just that that physicality is huge. And it's and it's a huge reason why Lala, you know, had far fewer shots than either of the other two. Like there was just no shot. She would have to get every single ball in in the tube every single time she shot it. Every time. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Um, I'm not a fan. No, true. Big brother fan would know that Julie did once spoiled the way to play this company. That is to do the ball.
[00:37:59] And Rick Devins knew how to do that. But I will say the other thing they've added to this that I don't like. And this is, you know, a personal complaint for me. I don't like that. There's a little bit of stairs to go up and down. I don't like that at all. Because why? Yeah. Well, I don't. I'm trying to get my steps in. I'm trying to stay in the big brother game. We don't need to do all that. Uh, because also not for nothing. You miss one step. Guess what? Now you're just on the floor for three minutes while everyone else is playing the comp. Well, lyric fell in one of the blockbusters this season. He did. Yeah.
[00:38:29] Yeah. We didn't see it, but we heard about it. We did. Yeah. Yeah. All right. So ultimately it was Lala who ends up being evicted tonight. And Freddie, I thought that Lala had an incredible segment with Julie. We know that Lala has been one of Julie's favorites all season long. Lala, she has her signature phrase that she says to Julie, you're my sister from another mister. Yeah.
[00:38:59] And she finally got that validation because she has been saying that every single week and it's never been acknowledged, but she did not get the what's popping drew. She did not get the sister from another Mr. Latrice. Anyways, in fact, you know, it was, it would go like, it was like crickets. Okay. Every time she said it, it was just like stoic, like, all right, cast your vote to evict. So today she finally got the validation that she's been seeking.
[00:39:26] And in fact, yes, Julie gave her sister from another mister. So she feels seen and that's wonderful. Yeah. Julie was very high on Lala as the, uh, one of the older contestants. Somebody who also has a faith is a very important thing to Lala. So call Devin's middle-aged. She did. Yeah, she did. Yes. A middle-aged survivor. Yes. I think here.
[00:39:51] And Devin's survived the middle ages, but can this middle-aged survivor survive the night? And the crowd laughed. Definitely not told to laugh either. Like that was genuine amusement. Yeah. They liked that a little too much, but that is probably the most newscaster way she could have delivered that headline. So maybe it was more of an homage to Rick. Mm-hmm. Yeah. But Tara, I thought that Lala was, and this is the highest compliment,
[00:40:18] that she was really just, uh, like a live wire in the interview with Julie. Yeah. I mean, it's reminding me of the preseason when she was so good in those interviews and we were like, how could she be anything but beloved in this house? Uh, she's just, she's really good at interviewing. Uh, the fact that like, that she was able to take the cue from Julie when she was like, were you sometimes really confused? Yeah.
[00:40:45] Like I was sometimes really confused. Yeah. It was just like a great moment, uh, that like not a lot of reality contestants would be willing to do, uh, for the sake of like a good interview. They'd be like, no, no, Julie, I was, I knew everything. What do you mean? Uh, she's just, she's just so electric in these interviews. It was really fun to see. Brittany, what's the key to nailing the interview with Julie? Oh gosh, I don't know.
[00:41:10] I think that people just like, you know, in general, I say the same thing about the diary room, just like speak normally. Don't speak like you are giving a speech or, you know, that it's some sort of like a very formal arrangement. Just, if you just like let it flow naturally, I think that that's the way to go. What did Rick Devins do in the diary room that was so annoying? Was it tonight or last night? When he said it was Devins dating? Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no. Yeah.
[00:41:40] Maybe that was it. Was it when he pretended to cry about his Zingbot segment? Yes. He did do that last night. Okay. That's exactly the opposite of what I'm talking about. Yeah. Right? Like that's going in as a like a knee slapping, lowbrow comedy, like dad joke. Yes. That's the opposite of what we want to see in the DR. Like nobody wants you to come in with your stupid cheesy line and be like, that didn't hurt my feelings. And pretend that's it. Yeah.
[00:42:08] I don't, I don't appreciate it at all whatsoever. But don't do that. Be the, just be normal. Just like let normal conversation flow. Yeah. I think is the resounding advice. Well, you get that from Rick when he does cam talks that, that he doesn't do that in the diary room. They have to like rely on him to his cam talking to get like the actual authentic thoughts of Rick Devins. And I think they love him in the diary room though, because the way that he presents that way. Oh my God.
[00:42:35] It makes it so easy for them to like put together the packages. Right. He's like editing dream boy. Like I think that they love it. They can count on him to come in and do the stuff that for example, I never wanted to do, which was like, tell us what you saw in the backyard. You know, Rick Devins has got like some stupid pun right in his pocket. Like he's, you know, he, he's always going to be able to paint the picture perfectly and make their job super easy. So I think they love him.
[00:43:04] It's not what I like to see. You know, I would lean more towards a Mallory screaming with foam in her mouth. Spittle, spittle being ejected from her lips as she screams bloody murder in the diary room. 10 out of 10. Love it. Like go unhinged behavior. Uh, love that. Don't enjoy like a pre-planned little, little bit. Pretty. People have been saying that, uh, Melody, uh, was reminding them of you a little bit,
[00:43:34] especially early in the season when she was talking about Haley. Uh, what, how, what do you, what do you think about melodies? I think that melody is in that way, right? Like she doesn't show up really like character of herself or, you know, like formal, like she just got what she was doing was going in and complaining and it felt very honest. And it felt like you were really kind of getting a peek into her thought process, which is exactly what I'm speaking about. Like just make it feel genuine.
[00:44:02] And if you want to go in there and, and bitch and complain, perfect. And you know, that's what I think she was doing that was working really well and resonating with everybody because it also helped that everybody hated dog in the first place. I mean, it was, you know, people were really appreciating what she was saying, but yes, I think that she does well because she doesn't present that way. Yeah. What'd you think about the zing bot coming for her comedy?
[00:44:30] You know, since episode one, I haven't thought about her comedy one time. I've never, it had, it slipped my mind. I forgot all about that. I've thought of her as the, what is she? A game show host. I think we've heard her talk about, didn't she say something to drew one time on an episode, something about being a host or hosting a game or something. I don't know. I forgot all about the comedy bit. So zing bot, I re I feel like he just didn't have a lot to say to melody.
[00:44:57] Um, but that was, that's kind of like a deep dive there. Like I, I, it might've been lost the average viewer. Her comedian lifestyle has been like this ongoing storyline that we've seen week after week. I feel like if you stepped in anytime after episode one, you were like, what? You were probably confused by that. Right. Yeah. I think it's a, the sign of a failed zing. If the reaction is, Oh, she's a comedian. Yeah. It's a fail. That's a big fail.
[00:45:26] I didn't think D's was good either. It was like, Oh, it, you know, basically like you, it was a downgrade from Rachel Riley. It wasn't personal enough to D you know what I mean? Like it was like, okay, that's a nod to Rachel Riley, I guess, but it's not necessarily anti D like, I felt like that was a fail too. I don't know why they don't call me. I really don't. Shouldn't they? Listen, yeah, I begged. Yeah. I said it right. I said it to them.
[00:45:53] I was like, I never thought I won't even charge you my consultancy fee. Like I on the house pro bono. Yeah. Let's get something cooking. Have you actually had that conversation with them? They say, Hey, we got this. We're good. I actually did say that because in like a joke fashion, and then they rolled out what they were doing for the twist. And I was like, so I don't think I would have thought of that.
[00:46:19] They were like, okay, so there's going to be a stone of safety and then it's going to, and then they're going to go back in the house and then they're going to deliver the stone of safety and send somebody out to battle the other competitor. And then that person is going to go back in the house. And I was like, okay, turns out maybe you're good. Maybe you're good here on this operation because I don't, I don't think my mind would have come up with all that. I really don't. I think, I think they, they, that means they do need you, Brittany. They need somebody who won't come up with that. I do not think I could have come up with that.
[00:46:49] That maybe, maybe lose me on that meeting. Did you say to them, like, I don't know if you're going to be able to fit this all in one episode. No, but it was comical to me. This is how like real this show is, right? Like I even have more of an appreciation for it than more behind the scenes that I've seen. Um, and basically now I feel like I could be a full blown employee. I've seen literally everything. It's crazy. It's really wild how little you see behind the scenes when you're playing the game.
[00:47:17] They really shield you from that because they really want that kind of fishbowl effect to be at its maximum so that you aren't thinking about what all is happening behind the scenes. And they do a really good job of it. So it's only whenever I participated on reindeer games and then have gone back for talking to Julie or like this time, especially this was a huge, like I saw places I've never seen on that lot whenever I hosted the competition and it gave you so much more of an appreciation for how
[00:47:46] diligently they are working behind the scenes. And just like what a massive undertaking the entire thing is in general. I mean, it's, it's crazy. Command central for those games is wild. Like I was like, surely we could narrow down some of these buttons. Like we can't need all 3000 of these. There's, it's not possible. There's gotta be like four important buttons, even though there's, you know, it's like looking at like a, one of those like massive sound boards in a recording studio.
[00:48:14] Like how can you possibly need all of these dials? It was kind of like that. Um, but no, he's over there just doing magic on that thing. Anyway, point being, I had just a more clear understanding of kind of everything that goes into the process and it's really crazy. It's, it's wild. Just how much effort it truly takes to do one competition. And they're doing this, you know, how many times a week?
[00:48:42] And so them realizing kind of in real time announcing, we're turning the feeds off. And then obviously Saturday morning being like, so turns out there's literally no way this is going to happen. And then just forfeiting the entire bit and being like, yeah, we'll turn them back on. Because what was the other option? They said, they sit on it till Wednesday and have the feeds off. They couldn't do that. People were going to literally rap for already mad about Sunday. So they were like, yeah, just give it up. Turn them back on.
[00:49:12] Just hit the button. It turns out there's, that was, I think like an actual in the moment, like game time decision of like, this is not possible. And I think that they trimmed it down as much as they could. And it was just not going to happen. Yeah. Much there. Yeah. So you talked about coming back to talk with Julie and I felt like that we were on such
[00:49:37] a good roll this season with Big Brother Unlocked in its second season where especially, yeah, we had Ross Matthews, but we also had Josh Martinez and we had Daniel Reyes and things were going so well. And then Julie advertised a celebrity super fan was going to be joining us. And it was comedian Jay Moore is here.
[00:50:05] Now, Taryn, we first saw Jay Moore a couple of weeks ago. Uh, he was testing the blockbuster with Julie. One of these, I think it was the Paw Patrol week of that. Well, that means that. When Julie demonstrated the blockbuster. IMDB this right now. Is he voicing one of those pups? I don't think so. You don't think so? I'm going to look it up. Did he get like a free, free Paw Patrol gift? Did he get the press box? I don't think so.
[00:50:33] What's the underlying message here? I thought when, cause like that was, that was another night where Julie brought in like a guest and I don't remember who it was that night, but I was like, oh, I guess it's going to be Jay Moore. I think it was Josh Martinez. Right. Yeah. And it was like, okay, I guess he was just there to test out the blockbuster. But now here he is. Yeah. The one, the one connection that I could think of is that, um, and I don't know who else
[00:51:00] here is old enough to remember Jerry Maguire, but in the movie, Jerry Maguire, that Jay Moore plays the rival agent to Tom Cruise. Hold on. I just cracked the code too. I just cracked the code. Yes. That was, they were both trying to sign Jerry O'Connell. Okay. Listen, did you know that he is married to Jeannie Buss? Okay. Oh. She is a long time big brother fan.
[00:51:30] Yeah. She was the, I think that they've sold the Lakers now. Correct me if I'm wrong. Yeah. Lakers ownership. Yeah. Huge big brother fan. Okay. Well, yeah, I, I know that the former casting head of casting for brother, not the current, but the former was very, very good friends with her. And she was a huge big brother fan since I've been on, I recall it being a very big deal that she followed me on Twitter. Yep. He is married to her. Wow.
[00:52:00] So there you go. I just cracked. There you go. As of 2023. And he's been a fan of big brother since big brother 25 would have been three seasons ago. Okay. Yeah. So did she inspire that Netflix show running point? Yes, I believe so. Yes. I believe it's based on the Lakers. Okay. So hold on everybody. Julie's going to go on a wild ride with Jay Moore, where we're going to ask Jay Moore,
[00:52:28] what, who are your favorite players this season? Who are the standouts to you? Who are your favorite? I was team Kamu. You know, we have similar interests. Who's not? Who's not? Who amongst us? What do you mean by that? Not team Kamu. What do you mean by that? Yeah. Similar interests. Yes. Yes. What a wild thing to say on television. Tell me you're not connected to like social media in literally any form or fashion. Right. Whatsoever.
[00:52:55] Never seen Julie move as quick as she did to help this man in that moment. Yes. What do you mean by that? Yeah. And then, yeah, she was like, let me help you out. We're going to break. We're going to clarify here. She was like, so you mean you like wrestling? And he's like, I like wrestling and Christ. Yes. Look, I like. You mean wrestling. Wrestling and Christ, of course. Yeah. And I love. That's when her like bazoonga heart eyes came out.
[00:53:22] That's when like the stars really started to shine. Yeah. Right at that moment. Because that's, I believe in alignment. Yeah. Wrestling and Christ, great podcast name for whatever they end up working on later. Like that would be a Venn diagram for them. So you say, okay. All right. Well, you know, Kamu and I. It's peanut butter and jelly. Wrestling and Christ. You know what I mean? Yeah. Two just, it just, it just rolls off the tongue. Wow. Okay. Can you top Kamu and I have a lot in common? What else you got, Jay Moore?
[00:53:52] She gets like a far away look in her eye when the stakes are really high. And it's almost like you can hear the theme from Halloween playing in the background. Like she goes somewhere cray cray. Sorry. What? What was that? Genuinely. This man tried to sink himself. Self-destruction in real time. What is, what is he thinking? What, what was that? I don't know.
[00:54:20] Taylor goes to a far away place where the theme from Halloween plays. The theme from Halloween. Oh my God. He wasn't, somebody did not train him. Did they pre-interview him, Brittany? I don't think so. And Julie was trying. She's throwing the lifeline out. You know, she was like, save thyself. Oh. I thought she loved him. She loved Jay Moore. I think, I do think that she did. But I, I also think that part of her was like, do I, I'm going to give you, I'm going to extend this for you so that you can clarify.
[00:54:50] And the fact that he didn't, that's when. She wanted him in the house. She said, we want, we want you to play celebrity big brother. She done. She sure did. He also, did you notice, came straight from the golf course? Like couldn't even be bothered to change into like, like a button up. Yeah. Like he was wearing straight up dry fit. Like straight up dry fit, moisture wicking. I guess maybe he thought he might play the block. There was going to be a twist. Blockbuster again. Yeah.
[00:55:17] He might play the blockbuster since that was just like a, a soft tease a few weeks ago when he was going to come in this time and do it for real because he was ready with his, his golf gear. Last week we had every big brother alumni under the sun there. Uh, there was nobody we could have kept around. Who would you have had? Hmm. I mean any big besides yourself.
[00:55:46] Don't flatter me. Don't patronize me, Rob. Give an honest answer. I mean, uh, we haven't heard from Dr. Will this season. Well, for sure. You have to assume that it's coming eventually. Right. Like I didn't. Yeah. I didn't think that the 1000th episode felt right without Danny Reyes, but they had had her the week prior. So, you know, like I assume the Dr. Wilson. I mean, he's going to pop up at some point. Wait, was it? Was he not there with Howie?
[00:56:16] Yeah, he was. He was already there. That's right. In that embarrassing costume. I forgot. Yeah. In the premiere. Maybe it'll bookend. But. Well, he was there like via Zoom, right? Via Zoom. I don't know if he was there in person. Oh, was he not really there? He didn't join the house like Howie did. He was like, he had like a video that played. I'm obsessed with Howie, by the way. I mean, he is somebody, if you haven't talked to him long enough, you need to give it, you need to give it a longer amount of time.
[00:56:45] He's got things to say. Okay. We should have him on the podcast? Yeah. Yeah. He spent, yeah. I don't think he's ever been on the podcast. I talked to him like in like 2005, like when he had just come off of Big Brother 6, but I don't think I've ever talked to him in a professional podcasting capacity. Well, you should. He's very funny and a good time and he will raise your eyebrows. Definitely. All right. That's my, I'm giving my resounding endorsement.
[00:57:14] Well, Jay Moore raised Julie's eyebrows with a never before heard take that he gave to her. The person that should win Big Brother always wins Big Brother. Always. Whoa. I love that. I did not expect the unexpected. I didn't expect that. You got to expect the unexpected. Okay. The universal rule of Big Brother. In 26 years, Julie's never heard that, that, that take.
[00:57:43] You know what? I applaud it. Yeah. He really fell flat on his face this entire. I mean, he really flopped. There were only, you know, three or four softball questions and he really managed to just fail them all. Big, big F, big fail. Yeah. I mean, you can't be that much of a fan if that's your opinion. You really can't. Well, he's a new fan, Brittany.
[00:58:12] He's just found the show in the last couple of years. Which lends itself to the question, what are we doing? Yeah. Yeah. Do we think, do we think that he watched originally when Jag won or did, do we think that he watched Amazing Race and thought that was Big Brother? Hmm. Could be. Yeah. Could be. I don't know. Did you watch that season of Amazing Race? I did. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Me too. It was rough. For me.
[00:58:42] Sorry. I'm not that big of a fan of the show. The Amazing Race has nothing to do with all the lovely people who competed. I just. Oh my God. It was really clocking in for me week after week. Yeah. Clock in. 90 minutes. Earning. 90 minutes. Oh. You know how much I hate a 90 minute episode of anything? Mm-hmm. Of anything. Yeah. Survivor, you are the worst offenders, by the way. Three hour premieres. You want me to sit through a James Cameron film. Of a premiere of a reality TV show.
[00:59:12] This is ridiculous. We have got, we have lost the plot. Have you been re-watching Survivor 50 this summer after Big Brother? No, but it cracks me up. This is so rude, but that has got to be just the cheapest airtime. Like, are we paying the advertisers at that point? Like, why are we re-running a program that premiered six months ago? What if you missed it? There's no way to watch it if you missed it, Brittany.
[00:59:38] Oh, except for the app where it lives in its entirety. Like, I literally just watched it. With commercials? Tell me that you have nothing else to fill the gap. Like, we couldn't even put in that show, you know, the bad sitcom that comes on sometimes on after Big Brother. You can't rerun that and make a little bit more revenue. Like, that's crazy to me. Crazy. I, whenever I have to watch the live episodes, which I do often, that is the only time basically
[01:00:07] that I watch like true network TV is when I'm watching Survivor 50 and when I'm watching Big Brother. That's it. Otherwise, I'm pretty much all streamers. These commercials, they get me going. I mean, who watches this stuff? Yeah. Who is watching these shows? Do you have a favorite commercial? They are so bad. I mean, that sitcom show is bad, bad. Which one? Oh my God. Yeah. Ghosts? The one with the... The girl looks like a Timu Carrie Underwood. The main girl. Oh, Georgian Mandy.
[01:00:37] Yeah, that is bad. Yes. She looks like Carrie Underwood before she fell down the stairs. Remember that? Anybody else? Okay. That's who that girl looks like. And when that show freaking comes on, it is so painfully bad. I really genuinely ask myself, who is this for? Yeah. Who? Look within. The young Sheldon cinematic universe. Oh my God. It is painful. Painful.
[01:01:03] But then it makes sense to me whenever sometimes I'm watching the show and I feel like I had this moment of clarity yesterday when it was thog on the episode and she was like, my goal on this part of the competition is to stack these items as much, as high as I can get them and as structurally sound as, I don't think she used those words, relax, as possible before I run and get the second back.
[01:01:30] Like explaining to us the most obvious freaking thing in the, what do you mean? We know. Like we're watching you. We don't need you to actually tell us what you're doing step by step. No one needs that. And then I see that commercial come on. I'm like, I think some people need it. Yeah. I think some people need it. I really do. It makes sense to me now why we think that we have to really guide the viewer sometimes. It, you know, I wonder what it's all for, but then those programs make it clear to me that
[01:01:58] there is a view, a portion of the viewing audience. It's like, hold on. What's Haley doing? They're out there. Brittany, we heard stories of, and from watching the show, it did seem like it was a really hot night in the big brother backyard as everybody was competing. You guys were so exaggerating about that. Oh. 113 degrees. I live in Oklahoma where it's actually 113 degrees. What? It was not 113 degrees.
[01:02:28] Everybody calm down. It was, was it hot? Yes. And I think that the guys wearing those like furs and things, I think that they were really, really hot. They had it much worse than I did, for example. But 113 degrees. It was the middle of the night. It was 2 a.m. Whatever the low of the day was that day is what temperature it was. Well, what about the scale of like, if Zingbot had been there that night, would Zingbot have passed out or no?
[01:02:54] Did you notice that they moved Zingbot to the very safe adjacent warehouse where he got to be indoors for his competition? That is because we're learning. We're learning from experience. And ever since that, Zingbot almost died. And I'm sure the legal department was, oh my God, on fire that day. They were like, we dodged a bullet like we have never even considered could happen. They moved Zingbot to an indoor competition.
[01:03:24] Very wise. Good choice. Zingbot would have maybe died. Many of your co-hosts attempted a English accent hosting on episode 1000. And you chose not to. Was that a choice for you? Okay. I cannot speak for my co-host. I was not instructed specifically to do an accent. So I believe this to be just like an artistic choice. And for my own self, I did not elect to make that artistic choice.
[01:03:53] In the car on the way back to the hotel, I was saying to Cody that I was like, you know, I'm not really like, I'm not someone who enjoys corniness in general. And so when I'm asked to perform corniness, there is a little part of me that's like, like I hesitate a little bit. And so I was saying this to Cody because I had to deliver the line about like, you killed the hog or something. Yeah. And so it's a little, a little corny.
[01:04:23] And so I was saying to Cody, I was like, yeah, I mean, I hope I did okay. Because I, I have a hard time sometimes like really leaning into the bit. If it's very against my, you know, true self. And Cody was like, oh, I leaned in. You did. He goes, oh yeah, I did an accent and everything. And I was like, shut up. You did an accent. Like you leaned in that hard. And he was like, yes, yes. I did an accent still was not prepared. I almost peed myself when I heard him on that,
[01:04:53] on that show with a freaking accent, a British accent too. Like, how do you even choose? It's completely hypothetical and not given by instruction. Like I didn't deny them an accent that was requested. That was just my choice. I apparently was the only one. I didn't, I didn't know that they were, there was no meeting. There was no, we didn't group up and talk about,
[01:05:22] let's all get on geographic page. None of that happened. So I just went in there as usual. And it turns out, I guess I just have a lower commitment to the bit. Yeah. Are you trying to make us look foolish? It's so funny. It's so funny. It was good. I'm really glad that I didn't because it wouldn't have been good. I don't dabble in accent work.
[01:05:52] I haven't been to some sort of acting school where I've picked up, you know, any amount of education around dialect or whatever. So I couldn't have done it well. So I'm glad that I didn't make that choice, but I'm very glad that Cody did. Me too. Yeah. Me too. So Brittany, when you were there with all the who's who of Big Brother alumni, were there any fun behind the scenes moments with all the alumni together?
[01:06:23] Ah, yes. Well, I mean, for myself, sure. But I'm speaking purely selfishly. But getting to see Dan again was really exciting for me because I haven't seen him in a really long time. And I consider him a good friend. And so I was really happy to see him. Of course, got to see Rachel. You know, we just don't see each other often. It was sort of, you can think of it in terms of like high school reunion. You know, you get to see all these people that you haven't seen in a really long time. I got to see like Ashley from season 14.
[01:06:52] I haven't seen her since season 14. And we spent three weeks in the jury house together. So just a lot of people that I haven't seen in a really long time. So it was, yeah, it was good vibes and very fun. Yeah. What was the atmosphere at the, like when they're on the lot where everybody was like at the back lot where they had the after party? What was the atmosphere like?
[01:07:19] It was, you know, we weren't given a lot of instruction around like what the party was going to be. Like really, you really didn't know anything to be honest. But the way that it was structured was, you know, they had set up like different vendors, different like food vendors and things for people and passing hors d'oeuvres. And there were all kinds of like press opportunities and like you could, you know, do photos and things like that.
[01:07:42] But really like the key centerpiece of the event was they had set up a stage and they had all of the executive producers got up and spoke. The president of CBS was there and he spoke. So Julie was there and she got up and spoke. So really, I think that it was about kind of honoring production, the people behind the camera that put in all the time and the effort to making the show successful and honoring the milestone and whatnot. And it was good fun for us.
[01:08:11] We were all kind of enjoying it, but it was like super meaningful for them. I'm telling you, they were like tearing up and stuff. Like, but they're a family. They've, they bring their kids to the lot and have watched each other's kids grow up and been through, you know, actual life together. Allison and Rich have worked on it together since season three. I mean, they are really like a family themselves completely outside of who's participating in the game, if that makes sense.
[01:08:40] And so I think that really the point of the evening was to kind of honor the work that they have done to make the show a success over the last 28 seasons. Yeah. Were you, were you excited to be nominated for some Big Brother awards? I guess, but like, I wouldn't have even voted for myself. To me, that was like a clear, there is no question who was going to win the best quote. Yeah.
[01:09:09] It's floaters grab a life vest all day, every day. But should there have been a category for best, best narrator, best, best diary rooms? I mean, I wasn't, I wasn't like upset about it or anything like that. Um, I, I'm fine. I'm okay. I'm good. I did. I have a, some, one of my skanks made me a hamster wheel award and I have, I have that. So, and I'll tell everybody about it all the time.
[01:09:38] At least have that, you know, they've honored me. How does Rachel feel about that award? I don't, I haven't specifically asked her how she feels about the award. Um, but I have to take my wins where I can get them. Taryn, Rachel's actually won the game. You know what I mean? All I, all I have is a, is a hamster wheel trophy that a skank sent me. So I don't think Rachel's too threatened by my accolades. Taryn, uh, anything else from tonight's big brother you want to talk about while we're here?
[01:10:09] Um, I can give you a tease, which is that, uh, this, this whole voting situation that I explained where melody ended up being left out of the loop. She is denying her vote. She's saying that she did vote Lala out and it's actually causing a bit of mayhem because great people are like, well, did Yash do it then? Is Yash lying? Is melody lying? Or did D do this? Yeah.
[01:10:36] And D actually got very mad at Devin's for even asking that she voted that way. Uh, and so there's a lot of tension going on right now. She's like, I'm nominating him and drew him or drew for sure. Uh, if I win. So there's, yeah. Wow. Um, so, uh, there's, um, you know, there's, there's chaos brewing. Yeah. See, maybe I was doomsday too soon. This happens from time to time. Yeah. Brittany, uh, we didn't get your take on Yash at all during this conversation tonight.
[01:11:06] You have any feelings on Yash? I mean, Yash has kind of emerged as a lot of people's favorites all of a sudden, I guess because he started winning comps, but his hands are tied right now. Like he can't win HOH without nominating all the people that he wants to keep in the game. So, I mean, he's essentially worthless in terms of that. And I'm not forgetting about his bro week. Remember when he won HOH and he was like, oh, I got to keep my bros.
[01:11:36] Bro, bro, bro, bro, bro. And he still says bro literally every time he's in the diary. I'm not a huge Yash fan. I also hate his hair too, which I realized that that's low hanging fruit. Gross. Don't call it. I don't like. I will. Damn, damn, damn. And you know what though? I will say about Yash. He does deliver good DRs too. On the subject of like not going into the DR all scripted-y and weird and making like stupid
[01:12:01] slapstick jokes, Yash does a good job in the DR of just communicating his thoughts in like a very genuine way. So, I'll give him props for that. Gross to call his hair lettuce. I would rather have Taco Bell lettuce. I don't think they know about that. You can time machine me to two months ago and I'll still take the Taco Bell lettuce. Yes. Okay. Thank you. Yeah. Well, I would like to also add on to the Yash speak real quick because not enough people
[01:12:31] are talking about the act of defiance Yash has committed to Devin's head. Because I don't like the little B head. Oh my God. I was waiting on you to bring this up. Yeah. I love Rebecca Devins. Why did we not talk about this? Yeah. Can we? Yes. Because what was going on? Okay. So, I was wondering actually when I saw it at the top of the episode, my suspicion was that if he lost the blockbuster, he was going to say that that was for Barrett as a means
[01:12:59] to try to make Barrett vote to keep him. Yeah. Today on the feeds, he was talking to Dee and he was like, I still feel good. And Dee was like, I think they might vote you out. And he was like, they're really going to do this to my head and vote me out in the same night? I don't think so. So, I swear I was like, I think he's going to be like Barrett, but bro, see how, see, it's like a, it's like a subtle tattoo kind of. But then he announced it was for Becca.
[01:13:27] So, it was probably for her all along, but I had my suspicions that it was for Barrett. In any event, I don't think, Yash is the last person I would be tossing the Clippers to. Do you have eyes? Like the last person that I would be trusting with the Clippers. That's just me. Zingbot dissed his hair. You heard him diss his hair. I know. And you're still like, you know what? Yash, fuck my shit up. Like, why? Why are we letting him do it? Why?
[01:13:55] This is the man who says, call me an idiot, but I think it'll work if I nominate myself. There is no justice in this world. Thank you for reminding me. Cheers. Brittany, is there anything else that's on your mind in regards to Big Brother or any other topic? Yeah. Yeah. I wanted to talk to Taryn about his rabies. Yes. I am so hyper alert and scared of rabies. Cautionary tale for me, Taryn.
[01:14:25] You made the right choice. You got to seek that treatment immediately. If you would have not gone down the vaccination route, you might be lockjawed right now, foaming at the mouth and trying to bite your neighbors. I felt the same way. And then I got the bill yesterday. Oh, it was worth it. What is your life worth, Taryn? How much was the bill? It was the full bill was like $20,000. But I have insurance, luckily.
[01:14:51] So it just maxed out my deductible, which was still unfortunately quite high. Wow. Oh my God. Really? Do you have to go back multiple times? Isn't this like a series of vaccines you have to do? I would have had to, but they did end up testing the bat and it came back negative. So I wasn't clear the whole time. They had the bat? It's okay. You still made the right choice, Taryn. It was the right choice. It was absolutely the right choice. If I even see a bat from a distance, I'm getting the best. Like you don't understand how scared of rabies I am.
[01:15:21] People don't realize this happens all the time. Yeah. People are just getting rabies. It's very dangerous. When Corinne went to, Rob, are you aware of that survivor thing that they did where they went and did the ayahuasca? I am aware of it. I have not heard any of the stories of the people. You would not see me going to, where'd they go to? Costa Rica? I think it was Costa Rica. To go do ayahuasca with the other. And they filmed it too. They filmed it and there was an entanglement with a bat.
[01:15:51] A bat that was like inexplicably in the housing area, which is like unlike typical bat behavior. And yet this person still didn't seek treatment. He's still alive. But I was like, this guy's going down. That is a rabies red flag. If I've ever heard one. Sure. I'm so scared of rabies. Brittany, why is it that, what is it about rabies that has it particularly on your radar? I don't know. It's deadly. It kills you. It's terrible death.
[01:16:20] It's too late once you know. That's the thing. It's like you have to be preventative. Preventative. I mean, there are cases where people don't even realize that they've been bitten or scratched. And the next thing you know, they're foaming at the mouth, biting their neighbors and lock God. Wow. And it's too late. It's too late at that point. They can't help you once you have incubated long enough to even need the treatment. It's just over for you. Yeah. So I don't know. It's just a particular anxiety of mine. I'm also very scared of riptides.
[01:16:50] Really? Yes. What? I don't even know what is special about a riptide. What do you mean? Is it? What's special about a riptide? Yeah. You can be Michael Phelps and die in a riptide. Like you can be the strongest. Don't try and save someone in it. You'll die. Oh, for sure. I mean, riptides are so scary to me. I'm like constantly. If I am in a beach setting, I'm very uncomfortable because I'm doing nothing but scanning for deadly marine life and riptides.
[01:17:20] It's I'm not. Well, I'm not at ease ever. These are proper fears. Thank you. You know what I mean? I feel like it's not like you're like, oh, I'm scared of, you know, fish, you know, like riptides are freaking scary. Many an athlete we have lost to a riptide like you. It's not even like you can be a bad swimmer. Like you can be the world's best swimmer and the riptides going to take you and there's just nothing you can do about it. Wow. Yeah. Pooja, bring us back. Rob, you need to be more scared of things. Bring us back.
[01:17:51] Well, I don't know. Would you rather, Rob, deal with a riptide or be locked in a room with Yash and Clippers? Give me Yash and Clippers, right? Yeah. Can't die from that. Terrifying. Who would you choose to be your like honorary initial? Hmm. Oh, that's a good question. Yeah. I think my wife would like it if I shaved her initials into my head. No, she would not. She would. No shot. There is no chance. Wouldn't you hate it? She would hate it. Yeah, no shot. She wants me to get a tattoo of her name.
[01:18:21] Yeah, but she doesn't want you to shave your head. Yeah, but not shaved into your head. I don't know. I think you should do it for Jeff Probst. Like really bow down. Yeah. For Survivor 51. If I show up at the Survivor 51 premiere with like a heart JP in my head, that would mean something to him, I think. Are you ever going to be able to communicate with this man one-on-one? Are you going to see him at the premiere? Are you going to have a moment? I should see him. I should see him at some point. Yeah.
[01:18:48] Okay, I want to know like what series of events led to him being forced to appear on Big Brother. Will you ask? Oh, Rick Devins. No, no, no. Jeff Probst. Oh, for Jeff to film the thing for, yeah. We could ask him. Was that directly because of his screw up on the Survivor 50 finale? I think he was a team player for the Paramount conglomerate for that. Brittany, you were- Did we pick up Mr. Beast to ask him?
[01:19:14] Yeah, you actually were a big part of the Survivor 50 news cycle where you- I know. You first broke the story of- I cracked the story. Did Zach Brown catch a fish that was tied to the bottom of the ocean? Why were people feeling the need to even try to argue with me about that when it was photographic evidence? Like this wasn't something crazy that only my eyes saw.
[01:19:42] It was like, all you had to do was pause. I didn't do- I didn't, you know, get in a boat and go there myself and look at it with my own eyes and then report it. It was on the same show that everybody else was watching. It was hit the pause button. Is it possible that there was such a riptide? They could not have Zach Brown swim with these fish. This was the only way to keep it safe. Zach Brown later doubled down on it.
[01:20:09] And that's when I became aware that I was also in a feud with Zach Brown. I don't understand. You can tell me whatever you want to tell me about spearfishing. You can tell me that there's a line to the gun, whatever. There's a line to the float, whatever. Once you explain to me why there's a line going straight to the sea floor with a shiny metal object attached to the bottom, I will listen.
[01:20:35] But until that point, I'm going to maintain that what my eyeballs saw, saw is exactly what I said. And that's exactly- Dee cried that she did not get to go to the reward with Zach Brown. Because Zach Brown, she said it was the soundtrack to her life. I know. She talked about that on Big Brother, didn't she? Earlier this season, she said something. She said like, oh, I think I got- Oh, because they were talking about how he followed her or DM'd her and he didn't DM Devin's.
[01:21:04] And she was like, oh, it was probably because I cried when I saw him. Yeah. Although, Pouya, that was not her HOH CD. No. Clothole. Yeah. Well, make it make sense. Yeah, listen, I wouldn't be my CD either, so. All right. Or Britney's. Britney's seems like we wouldn't have the same CD either, so. Definitely not. Definitely not. Definitely not. Okay. Britney, is there anything else that's on your mind?
[01:21:34] I was just gonna, I mean- The chat doesn't want the podcast to end. I was wondering how Taryn feels about the people who hate tweet at him. Because I randomly saw a couple of those today and I was like, who hates Taryn? Like, why are they mad at you for having an opinion? It's weird. How do you feel about it, Taryn? I'm, I listen, I'm used to it. Genuinely, it happens every season, usually at around this point that there's people that
[01:22:03] are like, you know, I used to really like Taryn back in the season where he agreed with me. And he doesn't agree with me this season, but something's just changed. He's just somehow worse. And I can't, I can't put my finger on exactly why. But he also just happens to not agree with me. And I think he's really deteriorated as a commentator. So funny. I saw that. I, I don't know why it like popped up on my algorithm today because I've never, I guess, really seen them before.
[01:22:29] And I was like, why is anybody hate tweeting Taryn? Like for just watching the show and having an objective opinion. I think that the point is we can all watch it and have different opinions and that's okay. Everybody's villain is somebody else's hero. It's a tale as old as time. Well, you really do it right, Brittany. You do your content. It's on Patreon. So the only people who are listening to you are people who want to be there. There's nobody. That is by design. That is by design.
[01:22:58] This is why I got off of Twitter many years ago. Many. I'm now just, you know, I just look, but I don't tweet for exactly that reason. Yeah. I just don't need it. Such a smart way to do it. Mm-hmm. I love my Patreon community, The Skanks. Mm-hmm. We hang out after every episode the following day. I do a little recap. It's a good time. Taryn has joined me. You've joined me. Yes. It's been because we did Traders. Sure. It was great. Yeah. Are you excited about Civilian Traders?
[01:23:27] I am excited for Civilian Traders. And of course, that's really Puya's wheelhouse. But I think that it'll be fun because I think that it won't be all of the meta of the, oh, it's a housewife. It's a big brother person. It's a survivor person. So I think it could be anybody. And I think that's something else that's interesting about it is that the money is very meaningful for everybody who's there.
[01:23:50] So I think that's where on the celebrity Traders, I think, you know, for, you know, present company excluded, like the money matters to us, but to some of the people that are there, I think they're making more from their appearance fee than the actual price point. 100%. Yeah. And they care way more about just making good TV as opposed to what might be strategically in their best interest or, you know, in terms of the game, what's in their best interest. I agree with you. I'm really excited about it.
[01:24:19] I think that also in terms of just like any batch of newbies that have never played that type of a game before, they're not ready for that cutthroat nature gameplay. And then you throw in two or three like sociopath adjacent players and it's just a absolute warfare. So I think it's going to be really good. I'm excited. Like season one finale with Sari. Chef's kiss. So good. Yeah. That's only two weeks away. The civilian Traders. So it's all, it's all happening.
[01:24:48] We're going to be so busy. We're going to be busy. It's a busy season. Busy. Of course, the survivors around the corner. The Amazing Race is back, Brittany. Oh, well, if I have to choose one to cut off the list. All right. Well, which one might it be? I'm not sure. It's been a busy day over here. I started talking with Eric Stein this morning on the Summer of Stein and a fun time was had
[01:25:17] by Eric had a lot to say about the 1000th episode celebration. And what did Eric say about it? Uh, that he, uh, he had a lot to say about the warehouse. Uh, he had a lot. Really? Yes. Okay. He had a lot to say about the chat BCC, uh, battle Royale. Now, now Ramble. Yeah. Go to BB. Did he go? By the way, most ill-timed rebrand of all. But I digress. He did not go to anything. Was he there? No, he stayed home. Okay.
[01:25:47] He stayed home. He couldn't bring himself to go. Okay? Okay. Got it. Uh, we also talked to Thog this morning also. Uh, check out, uh, Taryn's exit interview, uh, with Haley and then over on our Patreon. I will be live tomorrow at 3 p.m. Eastern. Jacob Jones is stopping by to do some Q&A with the patrons. Plus on the slop. Uh, Brittany, we do a, we do an episode of the podcast that's all of the, the big brother gossip and slop, all the stuff from social media.
[01:26:17] That's on Patreon. We do that on Tuesdays with Chappelle. And then, oh, the, is it the RahapCon pal is up? It is, Rob. It's up. My first ever live show I hosted. You were on it. We had a good time. We talked about a bunch of things. You know what? I'm quite proud of this thumbnail because that, that duct tape didn't just get there on its own. I, I edited it. I mean. Okay. Well done. Wow. The legitimacy of this program. You guys, I mean, you're on tour. We're on tour.
[01:26:46] Um, and then live in the dream. Who? International Australian, the traders. Oh, I've heard it so good. It's been phenomenal. Brittany. I've heard it is so good. Listen, if you are cutting the amazing race, it sounds like you have some time in your programming. Maybe consider watching this. It's been a very fun season. I believe the finale is going to be next week. Annabelle and I have been having such a fun ride with this. Both covering the episodes and talking to the people who have left the season.
[01:27:16] Annabelle told me the ratings are high. So I think, I think renewal is in the book here. We'll be back before. Okay. All right. Uh, and then the traders at RehapCon. Brittany, we played the traders in person at RehapCon. Okay. That is going to be posted this Saturday. And Mike Bloom was a incredible stand in for Alan Cumming. Check that out. I'm going to drop that on YouTube coming up on Saturday.
[01:27:43] And then we are going to have tickets for our live show in Washington, D.C. I don't know what the call to action is here, Sam. So be on the lookout for tickets if you're a patron for the live show that's coming up. You're running for office. Looks like I'm running for office. Oh my. Yeah. Also, do you call yourself Rehap? Uh, usually RHAP. Yeah. Why did you say Rehap? I thought that I was like, did I have it wrong all along? Yeah.
[01:28:10] Well, we say RehapCon, but we didn't say RHAPCon too long. We could have workshopped out of it. And that date is October 14th, uh, 2026 for our live show in D.C. Rob, that says November. That's November. I know it says November. That's why I said that date is October 14th, 2026. We should, we should, we should. Things have taken a turn. We should fact check that. Uh, and then I'll be in, uh, Charlotte for RHAP Live for Survivor 51 on December 9th.
[01:28:40] Okay? What was that costume? Did you like that? What was that? People say, is this AI? No. Uh, the designers, they take my head and they put it on different bodies. Oh. And then they just put your little bell there. It's not AI. Uh, there is a person who takes my head and puts it on different bodies. Okay. What you're describing is AI. It is AI, but an actual per, we're, we're paying a human to do this.
[01:29:08] So you're just doing like the less efficient, more expensive route. Got it. Right. Got it, got it, got it, got it. Right. Save the tree, save the water. Hashtag El Reno. We got your back. Um, I like the mock neck on you. That's a nice look. Yeah. I'm a race car driver. Okay. There you go. Very good. Uh, sure. There you go. Uh, Brittany, how can people keep up with everything that you're doing? It's pretty easy.
[01:29:33] I don't have slides, a slide deck or anything, but I am on Patreon, Brittany underscore Haynes, the skank tank. That's where you find me. I mean, I'm on social media too. I don't really care about it though. Yeah. Well, Brittany, what a delight it was. Don't feel obligated. Oh, thank you. I appreciate you guys having me. It's always a fun time. Yeah. Well, thank you so much. You guys work hard. You guys work harder than me, frankly. I always do it the next day because I go to bed, but not you guys. Thank you for staying up late.
[01:30:03] You're welcome. I was honored to be here. Are you on central time? I am. I love central time. What a treat. Best. Yeah. When I go to the West coast, that is the war. You know, big brother doesn't come on there until a million o'clock. Yeah. Yeah. It's horrible. And they really like gatekeep it. Like I didn't realize that we had like government oversight on our fricking YouTube TV. But if you try to watch it early, they're like, no, no. We sense that you're somewhere else.
[01:30:33] Like they're watching. Yeah. Big brother's watching you. No pun. We'll get you a link if you're ever on the West coast. Oh, you have that kind of. Yeah. People in our discord, they're watching it early. So we can hook you up with that. That would be helpful. But you know how terrible it is for me to stay up until 8 p.m. West coast, which is 10 p.m. Central time. And then the whole length of like last time I was there was a Wednesday, 90 minute episode. Forget it. That's my bedtime. Yeah.
[01:31:01] All right, Taryn, what's coming up for you? Live feed update tomorrow. I think we'll just keep the noon Eastern time frame for the Friday. Yeah. Pooeya's happy about that. I'm happy about that. I think it's just makes sense. So stay tuned for that. I also have a Patreon where I put stuff. Do feel obligated and go there, please. Feel very obligated.
[01:31:30] Max amount of obligation. Max chaos. Max obligation. All right. And yeah. And you survived rabies. So that's kind of a big deal. Exactly. All right. Thank you all so much for joining us here tonight. Big day tomorrow when we find out who the new HOH is. Take care, everybody. Have a good one. Bye. Bye.
