BB28 Why ___ Lost Week 5

BB28 Why ___ Lost Week 5 Also available on YouTube. In Chuk’s goodbye message from Taylor, she basically told him to listen to David Bloomberg and Chappell on this podcast by saying, “Hopefully when you get out of here you can see where you went wrong.” Will he actually listen? No. Will he understand if […]

[00:00:00] You played yourself and got voted out This is why blank lost This is why blank lost This is why blank lost

[00:00:21] Welcome back to Why Blank Lost. I'm David Bloomberg and with me is my co-host Chappelle, but we're not going to explain Big Brother for dummies. Chuck, we're here to discuss Big Brother for smarties like our listeners. That's right. David, I'm happy to be here in front of all these smart ass listeners, but also with you because you have the rules that are going to explain to everybody how we got here today.

[00:00:45] You know, maybe maybe this episode will be the one where someone who's thinking about going on the show actually listens and says, hey, these are things that I should not do. And we're going to look at this person as an example. Yes, yes. So considering that Chuck couldn't understand simple concepts, as we'll get to, he may need more remedial help than even a Big Brother for dummies book anyway.

[00:01:12] But like I said, like you said, that's not us here because we have much more intelligent listeners, most of whom know what we're about to be talking about. But just in case we have anyone new, we will be examining how Chuck played in comparison to a set of guiding rules I originally wrote way back in 2004 and have modified ever since. We'll analyze his actions using what we saw on TV, live feed interviews and other information.

[00:01:36] And the most recent published version of the rules is at Rob has a website dot com slash Big Brother rules. Now, those of you on video may notice that both Chappelle and I are in secret locations. We're hiding in case Chuck, you know, doesn't like what we have to say about him here because it's not going to be good. It's not going to be. You know, it's not smart, David. My secret location is Dallas. You know, I really wouldn't hid in Chuck's backyard.

[00:02:08] So, yeah, if he wants to find me, I'm sure he could. But I don't know, man. I think I think he needs to do a little soul searching after his stint on Big Brother and maybe look inwardly before coming to look for us. You know, it also occurs to me. And again, this is something we'll obviously get to. It's too much work to come for us. Really? It's if he couldn't even get off, you know, the bed to, you know, try to actually play Big Brother. He's not going to he's not going to bother with us. So no.

[00:02:37] There's there's too many people commenting as well. We're going to get lost in a sea of people who have a lot of things to say about Chuck's game. And very little of it is positive. But I'm sure there's something there we can we can find. Yes. Yes. You know, but his game was was special enough that I brought out the Forrest Gump shirt. Stupid is as stupid does. So. It's crazy. It's crazy to be surrounded by so many big, bad Big Brother players over like the history of Big Brother.

[00:03:07] And then like Chuck is the one who made you bring out the shirt. You know, you and I talked about it before we started recording. But, you know, Zach last year could have easily got the shirt. I mean, he's one of the worst moves in Big Brother history, if not to think about it, but if not probably the worst move, objectively, you know, at least in the last 20 years, which is saying something because the show's only been on for 28 seasons. But you catch my drift there. It wasn't great. Chuck, this was not a great week in Big Brother.

[00:03:32] And it's funny that I mean, barring like last week, you could have been fine. You could have been fine. Like, you know, the shirt did not have to happen to Chuck, but he just wanted it so bad. He wanted it so bad. Yeah. Yeah. But before we get to the details of what Chuck did wrong, we have a couple other things to discuss about the week in general. I'd like to start by talking about Lala.

[00:03:59] Now, Chuck, of course, had some very insulting things to say about her understanding of the game, her abilities in the game overall. You know. That was Chuck. So does it really, really apply? Well, we'll discuss that, like I said. But Lala does come off as very confused and clueless. A lot of the time in the game.

[00:04:27] And it's difficult for me, despite her insistence. Difficult for me to believe it's all an act. Some of it, maybe. All of it, I doubt it. David, I think the last time we recorded is before Lala won the Wall Cup, you know. And so or she had won by then. But we we obviously were talking about, you know, other things because not to spoil that outcome. So it was a big week for Lala, right? Oldest person to win the Wall Cup in BBUS, at least.

[00:04:56] And she has this moment where she can now gain some control, gain some allies, use HOH and wield her power. And it was so refreshing to see because prior to this, you know, I know Chuck is wrong about a lot of things. But Lala's game was there was not much to speak on, you know, for the first couple of weeks. Lala could have gone home. She could have been on the block. She really didn't have any control of what was going on at all. But this week, she really did use her HOH to gain that control. Some people will say Taylor used Lala's HOH to gain control as well.

[00:05:26] And that's probably fair. But eventually Lala's HOH-itis did kind of start to kick in. And so when she's telling Chuck, like, oh, maybe I'm playing confused. I'm like, man, you must be great at playing confused because for the first two weeks, I really think maybe the first three weeks, I really think you were playing confused. And now she's got a little HOH-itis. I think it's gone to her head a little bit more. You know, I saw even Taylor telling her, you know, maybe you can't talk to people the same way anymore. You have to lay low because HOH might have went to her head a little bit.

[00:05:56] So Chuck did ass wrong for some of the way he was talking to and about Lala. But I don't know, man. I'm about as confused as Chuck is about how Lala thought she was doing in the game prior to winning HOH. Yeah. I mean, even Taylor herself said Lala doesn't understand anything in this game. And it feels like I'm playing this game for two. I don't think Lala is fooling Taylor here.

[00:06:20] You know, some of the areas where she's shown that lack of understanding are not those where it makes sense for her to pretend to be confused. Like you mentioned, the way she acts. Because, you know, that happened. This is in the borderline of the area that we talk about. Because during the lockdown before Thursday's episode, something happened where she was clearly angry at Angela and or Haley. And it showed in a way that people noticed.

[00:06:48] And we normally don't talk at all about something that happens like right after the eviction. But this isn't a spoiler to say when live feed came back later that night. Like, like that's when Taylor was telling her, like, no, that was wrong. You can't behave that way. That's not pretend confusion. And it's not the only time we've seen that sort of thing.

[00:07:11] Like even her refusal, apparently, according to Chuck, to shake Chuck's hand before the blockbuster was another example of that. No, that's a good point. You know, because we saw on TV that Chuck did not hug Lala on the way out. But when Chuck is immediately interviewed about it, he says, well, she didn't shake my hand on the way into the blockbuster. So I didn't, you know, I'm not going to repay her with a hug at that point. And it makes sense. But not from a game standpoint, right? Like Chuck has nothing to lose.

[00:07:39] He can walk out of the house without hugging you. It does nothing for her. But you not shaking his hand when he could have easily won the blockbuster. Not easily. Let me take that back. Chuck could have won the blockbuster somehow. Now, there is a world where somebody, I don't know, maybe Chuck could not have won the blockbuster. Maybe she was just right on that. But if he does come back into the house, then what are you going to do? Right? Chuck has so many reasons to now target you and put you up. It's not great gameplay.

[00:08:08] And so when she says I'm confused, or I tend to believe her the first time, right? Not so much that being confused is a strategy. But I'll give her some credit for this. If you are confused, at least hope people believe it's a strategy. You know, getting to the end and saying, you know, I wasn't confused. I knew everything going on the whole time. No one's going to believe you. But maybe if you start planting the seeds now, people will.

[00:08:34] But the problem with planting the seeds is if your goal is to play confused, you should not be telling people that you're playing confused. That's like, I'm acting. Right? You're performing, acting. Yeah. It's like, you play confused to the people you're not working with. But if you're working with somebody, those people should know, okay, this person is playing confused. We see that with Dee currently. Right? People are like, oh, Dee doesn't know what she's doing in this game. Dee is this. Dee is that.

[00:09:04] But her allies know that she's doing well in the game. Right? Devon has no misconceptions about Dee's abilities in the game. Angela is good with Dee as far as knowing what Dee is doing and contributing to the game. So yeah, your enemy's not knowing that you know what's going on. It's fine. Because by the end, you'll have people who will vouch for you and say, no, they were controlling this. They were controlling that. I don't know if anybody's going to give credit to Lala for controlling anything thus far. I mean, Taylor even said immediately after Lala wins HOH, this is my HOH.

[00:09:34] I'm taking it over, you know? And we kind of watched her do that too. Yeah. Yeah. Well, the other main person that I would lean towards discussing is Haley. But it would almost be a rerun talking about how smug and lacking in self-awareness she has continued to be every day. So let's try another topic instead. You posted on Blue Sky. Between Kamu and Chuck, I think Big Brother casting goes out of its way to piss me off specifically.

[00:10:02] Add Rome and Yash to that list too. So I have to ask you, what did those four have in common to piss you off? I don't have an issue with people being recruited for the game. And this is not including Kamu, because I actually think Kamu might actually be a fan of the game to some extent. But for Rome and for Chuck, and even to a lesser extent, Yash, I think having people come in who really don't have any ambition to win, you know, they're coming in because this is a TV spot.

[00:10:31] They're coming in because they are, you know, they are looking at this as a good opportunity. They probably would have said yes to damn near anything. And so they came, but they don't have the passion for the game. They make bad decisions. And they're rookie mistakes too, right? So for Rome, Rome's a likable enough guy. He seems like he's athletic enough. Just baseline. He should be fine at Big Brother. But day two, he's like, I'm in love. What are we doing? Day two? Day two, you're publicly in love. Not just secretly in love, but publicly in love.

[00:11:01] It's such a bad idea. So it's like, why are you giving these spots to people who have no ambition to win? I'm sure there's somebody out there who is attractive, who is athletic, who is not a fan of the game, but also could say, OK, but I do actively want to increase my chances of winning every chance I get. And so I think that you're wasting spots, right? With Chuck, we talked about this in the preseason. I said, Chuck doesn't know what he's talking about. Those are my exact words. I said, he does not know what he's talking about.

[00:11:29] And I've never felt so vindicated because he came in, was able to get into a big alliance, but eventually his true color showed that he doesn't know what he's talking about. We've seen Yash immediately on the block week one because he doesn't know what he's talking about. Now, again, the longer you stay in the house, things can change and people can get better. But I really do wish that Big Brother casting would take a look at people and just try to gauge their ambition for winning. You know, they don't have to care about Big Brother itself, but at least care about bettering

[00:11:59] your chances to win. And for Kamu, I just don't want bigots on the show. That's that's yeah, that's a personal attack on me, too. I don't know what casting is doing, but I just feel like there got to be better people. Yeah. For the first part that you were talking about, not Kamu. Yeah, that's separate. Yeah. It's interesting because I actually did a video about this a few days ago because of something that Drew said last week on live.

[00:12:27] He said it was something that I captured and I was like, no, think about this. And then it took me a week. But I realized, OK, here's here's what we could say about it. He said his theory is casting purposely brings on dummies so that they will make these stupid moves and get the fan base riled up. So here we are talking about, you know, we're about to spend the next, I don't know, hour,

[00:12:55] hour and a half talking about how how bad and dumb Chuck is. And in Drew's mind, that's what casting wants. I mean, if you put it like that, you're probably right. You've covered Survivor forever. And I'm sure you can look back on seasons and seasons and seasons of Survivor where there's no there's no world where you put this person on the show and thought they could win the game. You know, Wendy Jo, you know, what is she doing on Survivor?

[00:13:25] No disrespect to great Wendy Jo, wherever she is. But why did you put her on there? You didn't think she could win the game. You put her on there because you thought she'd make a TV or that she would do something, you know, that we could all laugh at years and years later and then reference her on a podcast about Big Brother, you know, later on. And so maybe there is a level of that. I do feel like the Venn diagram has a space for people who are also dumb, but at least would like to play the game, you know, that would campaign for themselves, who would not,

[00:13:53] again, openly get into situations that will just get them thrown out of the game without any type of fight. And so, you know, like I said, to me, I don't know, it's not worth it. Like, was the Chuck experiment, are we better because of it? You know, it's like, is this stuff really moving the needle? Like, yeah, it got us riled up, but at what cost? Right, right. I mean, yeah, we'll talk about it later, of course, but he's not even an interesting villain, you know?

[00:14:24] Villain is a strong word. I wouldn't call him a villain, he was just there. Yeah, right. I guess an interesting dummy. I don't know. So, yeah, I mean, it may be what casting is thinking. Casting is wrong. You know, I think that we have seen on Survivor, the casts got better once they actually started focusing on people who wanted to play. Now, not everybody can play Survivor.

[00:14:53] Not everybody is good at Survivor. Some, I'm sure casting says these people are going to flame out and it's going to be glorious to watch. But at least those people thought they could play Survivor. Yeah, I've told you this before. I would never be good at a game like this. I know that about me, but I would still want to win. You know, I would try. You know, give me somebody who tries 10 times out of 10 as opposed to people who come in and just like, wait, I forgot I was playing the game. What happened?

[00:15:21] And so, yeah, as far as those people, I just don't necessarily need it. I'm sure you could go find somebody who really wants to win somewhere else. Yeah, yeah. All right. Well, before we move on to discussing Chuck not wanting to win, it is time for Julie Chen Moonves is wrong about playing. And Julie was a mixed bag this week. Actually getting a few things right while, of course, getting others hilariously wrong.

[00:15:49] Last week, we talked about how Julie delusionally said Haley is a force to be reckoned with and has shown she can sniff out what's what and that Haley and Dee, quote, may be pretty evenly matched. This week, Julie turned around and said she was 100% with Angela for blowing up in Haley, who, quote, seemed cold and unforgiving, not wise. So maybe Julie has, you know, come to her senses for a moment here. Maybe Julie should play big brother.

[00:16:19] You know, like if you're looking for somebody who is going to come out here and just make all the mistakes and be loud and wrong, Julie Chen is like every week going out of her way. This is the most off the wall stuff. Angela blowing up on Haley is crazy. Like that's crazy. And then and then Haley, Haley, you know, cold and unforgiving. Yes. But at the same time, just last week, she was old, leaps and bounds above Dee and all this other stuff like Julie, stand up and stand your ground.

[00:16:45] But, you know, like you said, she was hot and cold because when it came to Chuck, I don't know if it's just because Julie is team Lala or what, but she was on Chuck's neck from the moment he walked out that house and probably still is. Yeah. Yeah. That was another part where she did well. She pressed him about how he was evicted. She made a snide comment about Haley's 38 horrible days, which actually earned some chuckles from the audience.

[00:17:12] And then when Dalton Ross, you know, going back, asked her about Chuck, she accurately said he didn't show me enough self-awareness about his lack of big brother knowledge. This is true. Man, is that ironic coming from Julie. I want to know what got into her. She was acting brand new. She was, this is a different lady. When Julie asked Chuck about, you know, like, oh, so you said you would target Lala if you stayed in the house. He's like, yeah.

[00:17:42] She said, well, I mean, is that good strategy? Since Lala is such a bad game player. I said, I mean, you're not wrong, Julie, but damn, where did I come from? You know, since when? But I think she just has a thing for Lala. I think that's her girl. You know, like they sisters, like she said, sisters from another mother or whatever they called each other. And I think Julie's just not having it. Chuck's not going to disrespect Lala on her watch. But I've never seen Julie act like how she was acting on Thursday's eviction episode. That was different.

[00:18:09] I wonder if it's because Julie is 56. Lala just turned 58. And, you know, here's Chuck walking around calling her this old lady. She can't do anything. She'll never win. AARP, you know, all this stuff that is, I mean, yeah, I'm a member of AARP. You can, you know, join when you're 50.

[00:18:34] But all of these insults about her age and her not being able to do anything. I wonder if, yeah, Julie's looking at that going, no, not cool, Chuck. You know? Yeah. Julie caught a few strays there. You know, I could see Julie winning the wild comp. You know, I don't think it'd be pretty. But and I don't think it'd be a long wild comp either. But I think Julie's kind of like she I think Lala kind of did have that moment where she showed the world, you know,

[00:19:01] you know, your age is not going to dictate how well you do in the game or in any competitions. It's all about how how much you lock in. And although she wasn't locked in on the strategy, she was locked in on that wall. And so Julie was not going to let Chuck get away with it. But it's like this woman who's so wrong about every other aspect of the game and show that you start to wonder if she's even watching it. All of a sudden was tuned in and ready to whack Chuck every time she got a chance to. Yeah. Then so so she was she was right about that.

[00:19:31] But then we got to the very wrong thing she said in that interview with Dalton. When in talking about Chuck, she added that he taken Taylor's sage advice. He might still be in the house. No, Julie. No, there was no circumstance where he would have survived the vote against Barrett at this point in the game. He could have taken every piece of Taylor's advice and it would not have mattered. Now, don't get me wrong.

[00:19:59] He still should have listened, as we will discuss very shortly in the rules. But to say, oh, well, then had he done it, he might be in that. No, no, Julie. It feels like Julie watches a bridge version of the show. Like she only watches some clips and then she doesn't watch the live feeds necessarily, but somebody laces her up because Taylor did give Chuck good advice. But it was far too late.

[00:20:23] It's far, you know, for that, that train had left the station, you know, and Chuck had already proven himself to be Chuck for so long. Chuck trying to activate a social game, you know, week four or five into the game is not going to benefit anybody. And there's nothing that Taylor advice could have done for him at that point. I mean, but like you said, it was so far in the week when Taylor's advice is really coming to play. So Julie using that as like, you know, if you just want one done one thing differently. It's like Julie had her list of rules.

[00:20:52] And at the top, it was like, hey, listen, listen to Taylor. And he's like, yeah, but you could have tried that, you know, earlier. I don't know. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Well, we can move on to Chuck. Chuck in Taylor's goodbye message to him. She basically told him to listen to this podcast, as she said. Hopefully, when you get out of here, you can see what where you went wrong. Do I expect him to listen? No.

[00:21:21] Do I expect him to understand if he does listen? Also, no. But as I mentioned, this podcast isn't for him. It's for all of you who are listening and want to know how Chuck screwed up so much that he would have been voted out, even if he were up against Haley. So let's find out, because at RHAP, we know Big Brother and we know why Chuck lost. The first and most important rule is to scheme and plot.

[00:21:46] But you would not know that by watching Chuck, because he pretty much did none of that. He got in with his trio early and then just laid back while other people did the work for him. Even Haley complained back at the end of July on live feed that he just sat there and was a dead weight when they talked to him. I will acknowledge it's possible she was trying to downplay their alliance. But even so, no, it was on the note. It was 100 percent true.

[00:22:14] He even said this week that people were trying to catch him in a lie, but they wouldn't because, quote, I don't talk to enough people in this house to lie. Not talking to people is not something to brag about, Chuck. Chuck. David, I'm so upset that this is where we are. Rule one. And I have so much to say because he did nothing. Chuck put himself in a good position by getting in a large alliance.

[00:22:43] You know, not of his own doing necessarily. You know, he found his Kamu and Haley. You know, the three of them, Chakmu. They were a thing for a little bit. And then the vets kind of bring them in. You would get the, you know, we get Drew and Barrett as well. So they got this massive alliance. But Chuck is not scheming and plotting with this alliance, right? Like they are scheming and plotting with Chuck there. And so although that was good for him, he's still going to lose eventually playing like that. Right. It was only a matter of time.

[00:23:09] Even if Chuck got to the final two, he wasn't going to win because the alliance would have carried him all the way there. And people would have said, well, what has Chuck actually done? What has he brought to the table as far as ideas? Yes, there were moments where he would chime in, but rarely did we see Chuck doing anything to the sort of like making his own inroads in the game. We don't even know who Chuck is good with outside of the red corner. I cannot think of who's Chuck.

[00:23:36] Like if Haley and Kamu were his number one and two, I have no idea who his number three is. None. I mean, maybe it's Hans, maybe Yash, maybe. But that's it. You know, like you didn't have any type of relationship with anybody on the other side of the house. I don't think I've ever seen Chuck talk to Melody. I've never seen him talk to Mallory, you know, and I'm sure it's happened, but not enough for me to say that he's scheming and plotting with people who could keep him safe in the game. If the other side won HOH at any time, Chuck was going on the block. It was going to happen. It was good.

[00:24:06] Chagmu was on the block. It was going to be Chuck and Haley, Chuck and Kamu. Chuck was going to touch that block any time that there was a chance for it to happen. And it's because he had no other relationship with anybody in the house. He was not scheming. He was not plotting. Yeah, I, you know, you bring up this, who the third person was. I don't think there was one. I think he may have believed Yash was. But Yash was reporting everything back to other people.

[00:24:33] Yash was fully in on Lala's plan to put him on the block. He was fine with it. He because he talked to Chuck about how, you know, they were debating who was lying about the vote. And he went along with Chuck saying, oh, I think it's Kamu. And then afterwards, he went back to Kamu. And he's like, nah, it was Chuck, you know. So, so, yeah.

[00:24:56] And then, you know, the thing is, even when Julie asked him about his game, he said he thought he could sit back. And, well, he knew he'd have to start playing later. And it's like, when exactly would that later be? Because you're on the block. Chuck, even if you are playing the sit back and wait game, you got to do something when you're on the block.

[00:25:22] But he just, he just sat there and said, well, I was shocked because my alliance controlled the game. And all it took was one person winning HOH to turn it upside down. First of all, Chuck, welcome to Big Brother. Second, the game had actually flipped at the last eviction, if you recall, Chuck, when, you know, you got blindsided.

[00:25:46] But the key is, as he said, his alliance controlled the game, not him. He just, he just sat back. And even in his, his final plea before the vote, he told his fellow players, I've been pretty transparent with my game. And it's like, yeah, because your game was invisible. It's tough, too, because Lala was not going to put Chuck on the block initially.

[00:26:17] Lala and Taylor were like, eh, you know, we don't know if we want to put this black man on the block. We black, you know, we know how hard it is to be a black person and a big brother over the years and years and years. You know, it just like recently, you know, diversity initiative, you know, we've seen a lot of changes. But for a long time, it was not the case, right? And so they're like, OK, we might look out for him on that account. But because of the lack of scheming and plotting he's done with them prior to this, they're like, it doesn't really benefit us to even throw him that bone, right? Like, if you couldn't even get that going, then you have nothing.

[00:26:46] You've not even tried anything. You have no semblance of relationship with anybody outside of your current alliance. And like you said, you have nothing to show for it. Like, yeah, it was transparent because there was you had one thing going on. Everybody knew exactly who you were aligned with. There was nothing secret. There was no nobody was under the impression you might have a power. They weren't under the impression you might have anything. They could see exactly what you were doing. But that man lied to us in the preseason, David. He said my social game is what I'm going to rely on.

[00:27:15] What part of a social game is I just decided to stop talking to 10 people who I live with? That's incredibly dumb. Well, we'll have to wait until we get to that rule to talk about that, because, yes, I have some apologies to make when we get there. I don't think it's your fault. It's not your fault that man lied to us.

[00:27:36] But for here, you know, it's funny because Chuck, when he got to his interviews, he said all these things that are contradicting his gameplay. What lack thereof. Like he told Mike Bloom something very weird. He said the way people would react when I would walk into certain rooms, I knew, OK, I'm in trouble and I need to make sure I'm having certain conversations.

[00:28:06] Are those conversations in the room with us now? Because did he have them in his head? I don't know. But then he later told, well, I think the order of interviews was later. He told Sharon Tharp, I did not want to campaign because I didn't want to get messy, right? I didn't want to throw Barrett under the bus. And I knew I didn't want to be going about my game being messy. But Mindsight 2020 could have done a little bit better job.

[00:28:36] A little bit better job? Try any job at all. This is so bad. That's why I said with Chuck, it's really bad because there's nothing. There's nothing to speak of. You just you he you could and he could have. He really could have rested in that alliance for so long and still would have lost the game. Right. He still would have lost again at some point. Refusing. Well, he was just going to do it later. He was he was going to play later. Yeah.

[00:29:05] And later, later, it never came. It never came. You got voted out. There was never a time where I felt like Chuck had enough passion for being in the game to where he would actively go and try to better his position with other people. He found a big alliance. They started winning stuff. And he said, OK, this is good enough for me. He forgot to scheme and he forgot to plot. And now he doesn't have any allies who would stick out for him, stick up for him. I mean, once Kamu jumped ship, that brings his ally list to one person. That's Haley. And she's sitting next to you on the block.

[00:29:35] What good is that going to do you, sir? So now you have to go campaign and you don't want to be messy. You don't want to scheme. You don't want to plot. Chuck, why are you that? Why are you in there? You know, this is when I started to question the casting people because I said, look, one thing is a man's coming in there and saying, I'm going to do everything and win the game and just failing. Right. Trying and failing. But I can respect somebody who tried. Chuck didn't try. Yeah. No. No.

[00:30:03] And then this also takes us to the conversation or the topic we mentioned earlier, which was Taylor telling him he had to campaign. So it wasn't just like he thought this. No. He was told you need to go do it. And here is how you go do it. Did that encourage him to get to work? No. Instead, he complained. He made fun of her saying she out of everyone was giving him a campaign speech. Quote, it's people who had no game.

[00:30:32] When you ran shit for four weeks, now they're trying to give me advice. Yes, Chuck, because Taylor actually understands how this game works. And you, on the other hand, well, reference my shirt. And as I mentioned earlier, he didn't run anything for four weeks. You said the same thing. His alliance did and dragged him along. And then even after he was out of the game, he still rationalized not taking Taylor's advice.

[00:31:01] Telling Dalton Ross, there was no way I was taking advice from Taylor on how to play the game. She's a super fan. She is someone who knows freaking everything. But at the same time, I think with all that knowledge, it's ruined her game, right? Because, yeah, you wouldn't want to take advice from someone who, quote, knows freaking everything. And then he continued, adding, her message is completely kind of what she was telling me. Like, which, by the way, that sentence, her message is completely kind of what she was telling me.

[00:31:30] Yeah, that, okay. But that's a Chuckism right there. Like, you need to do this. You need to do that. Well, guess what? You did not do this. You did not do that. She should be someone to take her own advice. And this, again, shows Chuck's utter cluelessness. Taylor is a different type of player than he is. She would have different moves to match her own game. When she's telling him, you need to explain these things, it's because of the position he was in.

[00:32:01] And also telling her to take her own advice while he is now out of the house and she is still in the game is just mind-blowingly ignorant. Yeah, and look, I get it. For him, he didn't see Taylor and Lala on his radar because he'd been sitting in his ivory tower with this alliance that's been winning all these championships, like, all these competitions and these championships. They're like, yeah, we're out here winning. We're out here winning. And then, hey, look, the underdogs start coming up. He's like, well, what do y'all know? Y'all have been losing for four weeks.

[00:32:31] It's like, yeah, but right now, right now they are winning. This week they are winning. And so what are you going to do with that information? And because Taylor has been on the bottom, she's been trying and scheming and plotting with different people. Taylor has been forcing alliances with people who had no interest in working with her, but they're now slowly starting to bring her into stuff because she's been trying. So she has a better lay of the land than Chuck does. Chuck doesn't know what's going on in the house because Chuck hasn't talked to anybody else in the house about the game.

[00:32:58] You know, so that's why when Taylor comes to give him information, it's valuable. It's not because she's a super fan. It's because she can see where the other pieces are in relationship to Chuck. She might not be able to read it as far as herself is concerned all the time because that's her. Right. She can't see people's perception of her. They're not going to be honest with her about her perception of her. Right. People are going to lie. They're going to blow smoke. But she knows how people are talking about Chuck. She hears it all the time. And so she's trying to give him valuable information that he can use. He just refuses to use it.

[00:33:26] And now he's on the outside telling us that she is taking her game, which is crazy considering he doesn't have a game to tank anymore. Yeah. Yeah. Now, what makes it even funnier is his response to this question changed as interviews went up. So Dalton was first. Mike Bloom was a little later. And Chuck's answer evolved from flat out denial to trying to rationalize it.

[00:33:54] And he said, from someone who I didn't feel was a strong competitor, I really couldn't take that advice. Was that good advice? Yeah, it was great advice. But when you're in the moment, when you're in the game, truly, you guys don't understand that if there's someone who's not a strong competitor and you see they have no alliances trying to give you advice, we would label her as someone in the middle. She was someone who we knew we would have to take out sooner or later. I could not take that advice.

[00:34:20] I kind of took her advice with a grain of salt, which is a really roundabout way of saying I screwed up and should have done what she said. I just feel like, again, Chuck, you're in no position to be turning down advice. You're on the block. So even if Taylor told you something, some advice, what's your alternative? What is the other? Like, OK, I heard her out. It doesn't make sense to me. And I don't respect her as a competitor. So I'm going to go do a different thing. What is the other thing you did, Chuck?

[00:34:51] What is what is what is the other thing? You know, that scene where they're in the bathroom and Taylor is like, hey, you should campaign. What are you going to say? He's like, oh, I should say I'm going to be a shield. Chuck, you being a shield. You're on the block now. You're on the block right now. So clearly people don't care about you being a shield. You're on the block. So Haley could be a shield. You know, Taylor said it. Barrett can be a shield. What are you going to bring to the table? Except I'm not taking that advice. OK, Chuck, do you have better land? Do you have another option on the table? No.

[00:35:22] I think a lot of it comes back to his tunnel vision of because he kept bringing up Taylor's not a competitor. She's not a competitor. I want to be a shield. Barrett isn't a shield because he's not a competitor. Everything to him was muscles. That's all he looked at. Like he won one cop. He won the safety cop. But yet he has the nerve to insult other people's comp abilities.

[00:35:52] And but to him, it was like strategy is based on comps. And Taylor's not going to win any comps in his mind, just like Lala wasn't in his mind. And so therefore, she doesn't have strategy. No, they're two completely different things. You can suck at comps and still be good at strategy. You could be great at comps and suck at strategy. And so, David, remind me, how many how many vetoes did Chuck win?

[00:36:21] Yeah, exactly. That's what I mean. He won one safety cop at the very beginning of the game. And if I'm not mistaken, Taylor did win a veto, right? Like I they were sipping the drinks. Oh, yes. Yeah. No, that's right. So Chuck and Taylor have the same amount of competition wins, if I'm not mistaken. Yeah. Chuck, I believe Taylor beat you in that very competition that you're talking about as well. The veto comp.

[00:36:50] And it was down to the two of you. OK, so this person who you don't respect beat you. And then Lala, who you don't respect, beat you. It's almost like they're not as bad as competitors as you say they are. And that in Big Brother, anybody can find a competition that's worked for them. And Chuck, you didn't find too many that worked for you either. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So Taylor, you know, circling back to her, was absolutely right when she said in her goodbye

[00:37:19] message, it seems as though you just don't want to listen to anything anybody says about anything. And even before that, she had told others like Devin's in common that he's an idiot. There was no saving him. But Chuck always knew better than everyone else, despite his claim to Dalton. This made me laugh. I love taking advice. And I'm open to someone who's super open to advice and super open into listening. What? What? You could say that all you want.

[00:37:48] It sounds like something you would say, like if you were on one of these daytime talk shows, you know, and your partner accused you of not listening. You'd be like, I love taking advice and I'm open to it. No, no. We we have you on camera. We see very clearly. And in fact, in other answers, you said you were not open to taking her advice. I said in the preview, I'll say it now.

[00:38:17] David, Chuck doesn't know what he's talking about. He didn't know. I knew he didn't know what he's talking about in his damn interviews at the beginning. And I feel so vindicated because Chuck is going to prove that even if you go four or five weeks into the game, you could still not know what the hell you're talking about. Yeah. Yeah. Now, I do have to mention or note that I mentioned earlier, even if he had done what Taylor suggested, it wouldn't have mattered in this outcome. And that is true. And so some people may be wondering, why are we bothering to spend time on it if it wasn't

[00:38:46] if we said it wasn't going to matter? But his failure here is still important because, first of all, he might have ended up against Haley. I mean, if Barrett rolls one ball a little bit better, then it becomes Chuck versus Haley. And obviously, it could have been important in that situation. And second, he didn't actually know he was dead in the water against Barrett.

[00:39:09] He believed he had a chance, as he further showed by talking about, well, talking about house dynamics in a way that showed he didn't know what they were. He told Dalton Ross that although he didn't want to sit next to Barrett, I felt that I had everybody in the red corner. And that was going to be six people total because, of course, you know, we did add Angela.

[00:39:32] And I knew that if it came down to a tiebreaker, I had Lala who gave me a pack of Oreos in the morning. But the fact that I had only one person who voted to evict Barrett, and that being most likely my girl Haley, honestly, it hurts my heart. That's crazy. No, Chuck. What's crazy is you believing that you had Lala's vote against Barrett because she gave

[00:40:01] you a pack of Oreos that morning. I mean, forget about even forgetting about all the other votes that he thought he had, which are just crazy. The Oreo one really gets me. Now, I should point out it was double stuff. So maybe that sends a double the message of safety. I mean, that's believing it in the game that because someone says, here's a cookie, you're going to get their tiebreaker vote after they nominated you.

[00:40:33] What? I mean, what else did anybody give him, David? I mean, look, Kamu literally did not even use the veto on him. And he still thinks he has Kamu's vote. Why would you think you have Kamu's vote when that man could have taken you off the block? You chose him for the veto competition so that he could take you off the block. And he didn't even do it. And you're like, well, I think I got six votes. And then Lala gave me a cookie. Chuck, please, please. Sorry. Just piss me off.

[00:41:04] The funny thing is, there were actually like memes going around Blue Sky of if you give a chocolate cookie before Lala gave him a cookie. And so it grew into the meme. So, you know, but. But anyway, circling back to his failure to put in pretty much any work strategizing, not only did he not work to save himself, but he and Haley actually complained Tuesday night

[00:41:33] on live feeds that they had nothing to do when they were bored. And it's like, gee, if only there was something he could have done with his time then. But no, no. He sat around with Haley just like he had been for the previous few days. Obviously, that's not going to, you know, convince people to keep him. But, you know, he complained he was a have not and he was tired. Oh, poor Chuck. It's $750,000 still, right?

[00:42:03] Or is it $50,000? Back down to $500,000. How much money is this? How much is he going for? I think it's like a couple bucks, like $3,000. Like Chuck, what? Chuck, come on, man. There's a lot of money. You didn't you spent the summer. You quit your job, essentially, you know, to come do this. Are you taking months off? At least want the check, you know, at least say, all right, this is worth my energy. You know, but you rather play chess and be sad and complain.

[00:42:31] And there's so many opportunities for you to go and plot with people because you've never done it before. Five weeks in, a lot of these relationships you have is a blank slate. Go talk to Mallory and see, is there anything I can do? Or even, hey, Mallory, I'm probably getting voted out this week. We should get to know each other a little bit. You know, it'd be cool. Chuck, rather get voted out and say, oh, these people are my family. I was on that. I was watching him on the stage with Julie like, oh, they're my friends and family for life. I was like, Chuck, these are not your friends. These people do not know you. They're not your friends.

[00:43:01] They don't like you. They laugh at you. They mock you. You know, it's like you you need to get out of this house and go home to the people that love and care about you because you spent no time making sure that the people in this house did. And so, yeah, he was misguided from the beginning and he's still misguided now. Yeah, I mean, eventually, eventually he talked to a few people and most of whom weren't interested in what he had to say by that point, because like you said, he hadn't talked to them before then. Why would they care now?

[00:43:30] But even when he did talk to them, it was ridiculous because like a couple of perfect examples were when he and Haley said at one point, well, Mallory needs a home. Maybe we can bring her. Do you not see her always hanging around with the fat four? That alliance could only be more obvious if it were Chuck and Haley. And then he also told Congo, the difference between me and Barrett is people working with me will never see the block.

[00:44:00] I don't think Barrett talks game enough to promise that. Let's pause a moment and think about that. He claimed people working with him would never see the block while he was on the block with his tightest and really only ally. And he didn't think Barrett talked enough game. But how exactly would he know when all he does is lie around?

[00:44:27] And speaking of Barrett, he also told Camu that Chuck also told Camu he had the votes of Angela and D and Drew. D and Drew against Barrett. Okay, Chuck. Right. Right. This is his fault. I don't know.

[00:44:55] Again, just this baseline strategy is that you have to talk to people and make other connections because the whole point of Big Brother is that any week somebody else can win the HOH and then you have to figure out a way to keep yourself from being their target and being evicted. You can win a challenge. You can campaign. You can do whatever you got to do to stay off that block and keep from getting voted out of the game. But it's easier if you lay that foundation prior to you ending up on the block.

[00:45:24] Waiting until somebody wins the challenge that you're not working with and then going to them is just not a winning strategy. I watched Chuck after Lala won that HOH and he was on her ass like white on rice. He was right there. Every time you looked up, he was in the room. He was in the room. I was like, look at him. And I wasn't even mad at it. I was like, okay, Chuck at least identifies that he needs to go lock something in with Lala and Taylor. And then he just stopped. It's like they told him, oh, Chuck, you're good. He said, okay, cool.

[00:45:54] And then that was it. Like the instinct there for self-preservation was there. And then it became, I don't really respect Lala. I don't respect Taylor. And I don't think I don't blah, blah, blah, this, that, and other. And the more people told him that, you know, Chuck, you should do something about it. I think the more he just defiantly was like, I'm not going to let this woman who just won one HOH compared to my no HOHs tell me how to play this game. But it's really sad to see. Yeah.

[00:46:25] Now, another hilarious example of his cluelessness was when he told Kamu that before nominations, quote, someone went up there and told them, if you put them up, it would be better. But her not putting the three of us up together lets me know she doesn't know this game. She effed up. I'm so happy she did that. Rookie effing move. I don't think she understands the dynamics of this house.

[00:46:51] He told the person who did convince Lala of this move that someone did it and she didn't nominate Kamu with them because she didn't understand house dynamics. And you could not write this if it were a sitcom. The reason why these other people understand the dynamics better than you, Chuck, is because they actually are talking to the people in the house to get the dynamics. If you're only talking to your own alliance, then how are you supposed to know what other people know? How are you supposed to know how other people feel about each other?

[00:47:21] That's why you're a dumbass. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to say that. That's why you feel like Drew would vote to keep you over his best friend in the house. You know what I'm saying? That's why you feel like Kamu would save you with the veto, even though he's already flipped and threw you under the bus. It's because you're not tapped in. And I really want better for you, brother. I really want you to just go, like, skein, pot, talk to people, figure it out. This is not that hard. You should not have been in this position. And it's sad to see you go out like this. Yeah.

[00:47:53] Speaking of Kamu, I do want to briefly look at what he did compared to what Chuck did. Kamu heard out Lala's plan, thought about it, left, came back and said, well, how about this better one? And he convinced her of it. Meanwhile, Chuck, like you said, he listened, found out that, OK, he was going to be safe and then left.

[00:48:20] And then didn't care what Lala had to say beyond that, really. He heard the one word that he wasn't going up. You know, so then he got upset when she nominated him, went back to her and mansplained the game about, you know, how everyone thinks she's a joke and is calling her. Well, he was calling her names in the diary room. Is this going to help you after you've been nominated? No.

[00:48:46] And then he told Haley, does Lala know that I was the last person that could have saved her in this game? And we're all out here like. What? She didn't need you to save her, Chuck. She saved herself by beating you and everyone else in that comp. And you were the one who needed saving.

[00:49:10] And then meanwhile, of course, he's talking to Haley about he's been on the money with every read he's had on people. These are awful reads. But you can't have good reads if you're not talking to people. You have to go talk to the rest of the people. That's why your reads are bad. You know, it's like I'm passionately calling him stupid, but not like to demean him, but to say like, hey, look around. Look around. Look at the surroundings and then maybe take a step back and see where you went wrong.

[00:49:40] You know, and these these these mistakes, these loud ass, wrong ass reads come from you not playing a game that is going to win. It's going to it's a losing game every time. It's a losing game every time. That's why you don't understand what's going on, because you completely we're all rule one, David. We're all one. We're all one. Chuck, please, please. You were there for four, five weeks. You could have done something. You did nothing with this time.

[00:50:11] Yes, yes. And that actually brings us to the end of rule one. So, you know, I mean, that was a long time spent to talk about how he was very wrong, you know, all the time, pretty much. The other rules will not be as long, but there's still more to talk about. Like you said, there was only rule one. Yeah. So the second rule says not to scheme and plot too much and keep your scheming secret. I will say one thing.

[00:50:36] He certainly did not scheme too much, but he also didn't keep what little he did a secret, specifically his obvious tight alliance with Camus and especially Haley. To the point that Lala referred to him and Haley as a couple, you know, which really pissed off Chuck. I do think she just meant it the same way we would talk about a duo.

[00:51:02] And, you know, that was one of the main reasons that he was nominated, because as Lala said, she wanted Haley out, but she needed to make sure he would not win veto and take her down. And, you know, he was a good consolation prize to at least split them up. I think if we're talking about scheming and plotting too much, I think, Scott, you know, you'll never get me accusing Chuck of doing that. But just being so overtly obvious with who you're working with is how you end up on the block next to your number one ally.

[00:51:32] This is how that happens, right? It's like everyone knew we've been calling them Chagmu since week one. Since week one, we've been calling them Chagmu. It wasn't an alliance that developed over time. It was the three of them. They weren't calling themselves that. You know, everybody names their alliance. We on the outside were like, well, this is an obvious trio. And we've had no choice but to acknowledge it because everybody else in the house acknowledges it.

[00:51:55] So when it's time to put people on the block, yeah, you're going to go up against your number one ally every time because everybody can see the game that you said is so transparent. Yes, that's not a good thing, Chuck. People should not be able to see straight through your game. This is so hard for me because he's so bad. He's so bad. It's just like, wake up. What is wrong with you? Yeah.

[00:52:21] I mean, the thing is, he even recognized that people saw the two of them as being tight because some of them told him. But as usual, he wouldn't listen to anyone. He, you know, he even verified that by telling Julie, oh, people, people told me to split with Haley, but I didn't want to do that. Yeah, because that would have been better for your game. And heaven forbid that you do something that's better for your game.

[00:52:48] You know, it's just, yeah, we were too high on him. We were too high on him. And that's crazy because I was pretty low on Chuck, but we were too high on him. We just, I could not foresee a world where he would just like come in, find the first nice person who he met, thog, and decide this is who I'm going to hitch my wagon to very publicly to the point where I am sitting next to them on the block. And it will probably go home sitting next to them. Again, pleasant person this thog lady is, I'm sure. But. Oh, yeah.

[00:53:18] When she's the most popular, I'm sure that as we're recording this podcast, she's probably winning the viewer vote. I'm not even sure that he would have survived the vote next to thog, you know, on the last, on Thursday. As pleasant, again, as this woman is. Chuck, for some reason, them people were probably still going to vote you out over her. And they love her so much. Oh, yeah. Yeah, they adore her.

[00:53:48] Chuck, you, I'm being facetious. They hate her. They hate her. And they were still probably going to get rid of you over her. It's funny because as you're talking, I'm thinking and I'm like, wait, do I have a section about that coming up in the notes? Oh, no. That's the next video I'm putting out, which made me out of roughly, you know, even before this podcast. But literally the next video is about that exact topic.

[00:54:12] And, you know, so, yeah, we're having the same thoughts there. But then you look at Kamu, who was in a similar situation. Okay. But he extricated himself. And he came out there. He's like, oh, I don't know why people lump me in there. It was always Chuck and Haley. I was just a tag along. It doesn't matter whether or not it was true.

[00:54:41] All that mattered was if he could convince the right people of it. And he did. Chuck didn't even bother to try. So he continued to have that Haley Albatross around his neck. Yeah. And I mean, like you said, he has the Albatross around his neck, but he's wearing it proudly. You know, he's not ever trying to shake it at all. Look at my Albatross. Right. We're just going to sit here all playing chess together.

[00:55:11] No, we're definitely not working together. I promise. Like, no, he was just like, nope, this is my ally. And I guess I'll just sit here. And y'all are going to pick me over her because y'all told me and you gave me a cookie. So, I mean, that's pretty much a promise, right? That's legally binding. Devin's even made a joke. Devin's made a joke about it on live feeds. They were sitting around one day and he was using an oven mitt as a puppet. I don't remember the exact joke, but it was shortly after.

[00:55:37] After the Adam and Eve thing, either they were still together or they had just gotten their regular clothes back. Yeah. And he said the joke was something to the effect. Devin's told it better, but he said something to the effect of name two people who are tied together at the hip and never apart. And then he said, Chuck and Haley. Right. When the obvious answer was supposed to be Melody and Mallory.

[00:56:05] So I know if you have to explain the joke, it's not as good. But no, I mean, you have to remind people that they literally were tethered together physically. And people still people still look at Chuck and Haley as a tighter pair. Yeah. All right. Well, we can move to the third rule, which talks about the need to be flexible. Now, Chappelle. Is it possible to be flexible while lying around and doing nothing all day? No, no. I mean, maybe I know.

[00:56:33] I mean, you got to stretch at some point, but I don't think flexibility is going to be a strong suit there. I. We've talked about this. This man had one ally in the house. He had one and a half because he had come for a little bit. And depending on who won HOH, if the red corner or the crossover, not the crossovers, whatever their big alliance was called, the tool shed. If the tool shed won, then more times than not, he was going to be safe. But that's it. That was it. That's it. He had a tool shed.

[00:57:00] If the people outside of the tool shed won, more times than not, he was going on the block because there was no flexibility to his game. There was nobody else who would go out on a limb to save Chuck. And the people who almost did, Lala and Taylor, even were like, no, it's not worth it. It's not. It's not worth it. There's nothing. There's no savings, man. We can't rehabilitate this. It's a lost cause. And so he was not flexible at all. He didn't even try. Yeah. Even his answer to Julie demonstrated this.

[00:57:27] She or one of her cue card writers remembered their journalism days and asked Chuck what exactly he did to prepare for big to play big brother. And he didn't actually answer the question. He said he was going in as a physical threat. So he wanted to lie low and not be boisterous. Or I think he actually said boisterous, but fine. In theory, that could be showing flexibility by recognizing the game situation and adjusting.

[00:57:55] The problem is he didn't do that second part that I mentioned, the adjusting. He continued to lie low, even when he was in danger. And he also told Julie that he wanted the other guys to be his shields so he could get halfway and start playing. But as we discussed at length in rule one, he needed to start playing now, probably sooner.

[00:58:18] But definitely, at least when he was nominated, he failed to adjust whatever plan it was that he thought he had. He said in more words than not, you know, like I am not flexible because I don't want to be. You know, he says Lala gave me good advice, but I don't want to take it. Taylor was giving me advice, but I don't want to take it. I don't want to take it part. That's the lack of flexibility. You're in a situation that you weren't in before and now people are trying to tell you how to get out of it, but you refuse to see it. You're like, no, I don't want to hear it.

[00:58:48] It's not like they're leading you into something. They're like heavily implying that you need to do stuff. Taylor is grabbing you by the hand and walking you down the hallway and saying, you need to do these things. She said, how are you going to campaign? Tell me. He starts talking. She's like, no, that's not going to work. Here's what you need to do. Then he's telling us, I'm not doing that. Well, there's your flexibility check. If you're not going to be willing to try, then there's no flexibility to speak of. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:59:15] Well, and then he told Taron in the RHAP interview that he was happy to settle into Red Corner rather than having outside connections. Now, we talked in rule one about him relying completely on his alliance, and you just mentioned it again. This further emphasizes the point. He had no other relationships outside of that group. He went to the casino. He bet it all on Red and had no other options when that went bust.

[00:59:45] No, that's perfect. That's a perfect analogy because there's nothing there. He's the polar opposite of Lyric. Lyric, you know, last week we came in and talked about Lyric didn't do everything perfectly. But one thing she did do was open all like open herself up to all contenders. Right. Anybody who wanted to talk about strategy, she was down. Like, let's. Hey, who do I have to throw under the bus? What do I got to do? And so much to where it did come to her detriment. Right. But it wasn't for lack of trying. And I can always respect somebody who tries as opposed to somebody who said, well, I got in a big alliance and we were winning everything.

[01:00:14] So why else did I have to do anything? It's like you have nothing else to do in that house. There's no TV. There's barely any music. There's nothing to do. You just you work out and talk. And I don't think people walk away knowing a lot more about just complaining. Yeah. Just whining. Don't forget about complaining. I mean, listen, I love to complain like as much as the next guy. It's kind of one of my favorite things to do. But make no mistake. You got nothing else to do. You've got to find time to work in some type of strategy conversation with the other people in the house.

[01:00:42] And for you to just not decide I'm not doing that, it's not going to bode well for you in the future. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Well, we can go to the fourth rule, which says players should not let their emotions control them. I have to admit, as I think about Chuck and emotions, I'm a bit stumped. Even when he was angry or seemingly angry, like in the diary room, when he was like threatening a world war, which coming from him was just utterly ridiculous.

[01:01:11] It didn't really seem like he particularly had emotions. Like he could say it, but I didn't feel anything behind it. So I'm wondering what you thought of him. The only real evidence I have of Chuck being an emotional player is his reaction to Lala. Lala is that, you know, when he's out of the house, you know, and Julie's interviewing him and she does ask him, OK, who would you put up? He's like, oh, I would put up Lala. And Julie has to explain to him.

[01:01:39] Well, Chuck, if you've spent the last several weeks saying Lala is not a strong player and is not good at the game and is very confused. Why would Lala be your primary target? Yes. She put you on the block. And so that gives you carte blanche to put her on the block. I'm I'm always a opponent of if somebody targets you, you can put them back on the block anyway, because you need a spot. You need somebody to fill a spot. You got to put up three people in the week anyway. But the best you could do was Lala is my target.

[01:02:05] You I can even see you saying, OK, I'd put up Taylor because I could tell she was controlling Lala, you know, or something like that. Like, that's my real target because Lala is confused. But I think when you're asked that question, Lala should not be the number one answer of person that you would target if you stayed. Yes, you would try to use Lala. Yes, you would understand that you need to put up Lala. But of all the people, if your perception is true, right, you're saying it's true that you don't agree with the way she's playing the game. You don't like it.

[01:02:35] It's disgusting. I think Chuck said she's confirmed she doesn't know what's going on. That's what you would do when you have power is target her. Chuck, Kamu was selected by you to play in the veto so that he would take you off the block. And then he did not use the veto on you. And you just got voted out by Kamu and everybody else as well, except for Haley.

[01:03:04] And you come back in the house. Julie says, if you could do it all over, if you had a chance, if you stayed, he's like, give me Lala. What is wrong with you, boy? What is it? What is going on? The lights are on, but no one's home. All right. That would really bother me, David, because it's like, yes, it's silly strategically. But also, I have to imagine that his feelings was hurt. And that's why he wanted to target Lala, right? That's where the emotion comes in. Yeah.

[01:03:34] And I think for him, it comes back to being controlled by ego. And now ego isn't technically an emotion. I looked it up and Google says, ego acts as the primary manager for many of our emotions. And when a person feels threatened or criticized, it triggers reactive defensive emotions like anger, fear, shame, anxiety. I think all of those pretty well described Chuck to a T.

[01:04:03] If you look at it, everything that he said, whether it was being angry at Lala and what, you know, Lala put him up there for no matter what he thinks of her game, he has to, he would have to strike back. Taylor tells him what to do, but she's just a woman who isn't, you know, isn't a good competitor. Why do I have to? It all comes back to his ego of who are these people to tell me what to do? Yeah, I think, yeah, he was baffled.

[01:04:32] I think, I think that he was legitimately shocked. You know, when Julie was talking to him, he's like, how did I end up out of the house? What happened? What was wrong for me to be here? I was in the, I was in the best alliance. Like, yes, Chuck, there's gotta be more to the game than just get in a big alliance, right? There's gotta be more, right? There's rules. I mean, David, you've built a career with rules, man. There's rules, Chuck. The rule number one is not get into a big alliance and sit, you know?

[01:05:00] And so for Chuck to come out, it's like, you missed all the rest of that stuff because I do think you were wrapped up in like, I'm fine, right? Like, you didn't have the level of anxiety that somebody needs in this game, right? Because you were sitting around, you were walking around pretty. I'm in a big alliance. I'm fine. We're winning all these challenges. I don't have to do anything. And so maybe there is a lack of emotion there, but you're right. There was no shortage of ego when it comes to Chuck. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Well, the fifth rule says players need to pretend to be nice and play the social game.

[01:05:29] And this gets to what we've mentioned a couple times already, because when I watched the big brother, Bro Veal, or whoever remembers back to that, it seems so long ago. It's been years. I remember him saying something you already mentioned. He would play a masterful social game. In our preview podcast, I mentioned that I was skeptical at first, but the more he talked, the more I thought I liked him and his social game was actually working on me.

[01:05:59] Now, I was a bit embarrassed about it at the time. I'm a lot more embarrassed about it now. What that looking back, what the hell did I see in this guy? Or what did he turn on in that interview that never appeared in the house? Which could also go back to answering the question of how he was cast to begin with. Like, was he just one of these people who does great interviews, but when he actually gets into the job sucks?

[01:06:28] Because we've all seen those people. They know what to see, you know, in the real world, in a job interview. They know exactly what to say. And then you hire them and you're like, where's the person that I interviewed? What the hell? Because I beat Brother 28. He was barely there. And when he did appear, he became a complete jerk. Yeah, I think in front of the camera, there is a level of foolish charm to Chuck.

[01:06:57] And I'll put it like this. Because in this last week, we've gotten a lot of Chuck content on the show. And it's silly, right? Chuck time and the World War, Big Brother and all the stuff he's saying in the diary wrong. It's silly. But it's so bad. It's good. You know, it's like I could deal with a little bit more of the goofy Chuck. You know, like it's not it's not ideal. But there's something there where it's like, yeah, he's saying the wrong word.

[01:07:24] You know, he's saying he's got these phrases that don't seem to match up with what's going on in the house. It's clear that he's reading from a teleprompter at different times. But it's kind of camp. You know, it's like there's something there that kind of makes it all right. Well, we know he's being authentic at the very least. Right. Like the dude is not putting on. This is him clearly because you can't fake this. And so maybe there's something there. But David, I guess I have to give you some grace because that man straight live. He straight live. He lied. He said, I'm going to come in and be good with all the women.

[01:07:54] I didn't see him talking to the women that often. You know, like, don't get me wrong. He was in. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I've seen him talk to D and Angela before, but I could not tell you the nature of one conversation he's ever had with Melody or Mallory. Just just one on one, you know, and don't get me wrong. It might have happened, but it's been 30 some days. It should have happened multiple times by now. Right. It should have happened over and over again because you have nothing else to do.

[01:08:23] And so when he lied that first time, he just kept lying. Like, oh, I'm a social butterfly and all this other stuff. And I think he believed it in his mind. And so you started to believe it, too. But I had your back. And I told you, David, this man is lying. He does not know what he's talking about. I said, we have to bring him down. I rated him lower than Ashley and I stand by it. Yeah. I don't remember what I rated him before. I think I must have rated him a five. But after talking to you, you convinced me to bring him down to a four. And we really should have went lower. We really should have been lower.

[01:08:52] I don't know why. I just could tell that this man did not know what he was talking about. He just doesn't know. Yeah. Now, if we go back to mid-July, there were discussions among some of the other House guests about how most people tended to like Kamu, but not Chuck or Haley. Now, ugh on the first part, but that's not the point right now. The thing they mentioned was that Chuck barely talked to anyone outside the Alliance.

[01:09:20] This is something we've already addressed in Rules 1 and 2. 1 and 3. This was also a huge social problem, though. And it helped lead to situations where he spent so much of that time, as we've discussed, only with Haley, to the point that he shared in her delusions, like telling her, you've never said a bad thing about anyone. I mean, it's one thing for her to say.

[01:09:49] She is clearly self-deluded. But for him to join in while she is literally going around calling Lala Cruella all the time, literally at the same time, maybe in the same breath. And he also said she was the only one there with a storyline, as she made the ridiculous claim that they were the Janelle and Howie of the season. Even as delusional as Haley is, I mean, that's crazy.

[01:10:19] But even considering all these delusional things she said, she still had better relationships with other people than Chuck did, which was one reason several of them wanted to keep her rather than him. I'm not even sure Chuck knows who Janelle and Howie are. You know, like she might be saying this to somebody who's just smiling and nodding, you know? Good point. The Kamu point is probably the best one, David, because people started to like Kamu because

[01:10:47] he went out of his way to talk to them and try to make other alliances work. We saw that with the way he was working with Drew. You know, we saw that where he has like a little offshoot alliance with Yash as well. Um, but Kamu was also aligned with Chuck and Haley, but he was able to kind of make himself an outlier at least a little bit. Whereas Chuck was never going to have another, like there was never going to be any question of whether Chuck was working with Haley directly.

[01:11:17] Right? Like you, Chuck could never tell a lie. Y'all just lump me in with the two of them. I'm not really with them. But you never, you never separated away from her long enough to go and make that even a possibility. Uh, so everybody already knew where you stood. You can't play a social game if you're not going to be social. To say I'm gonna play a social game and know you're not social, you at least need to have other strengths, right? Because social, sociability is not going to be the one. You're not going to be able to socialize. There's no social game.

[01:11:46] And this is, this is talking, this is me talking to somebody who I know did not know what they were talking about. This man was just saying words and that's okay. Yeah. Yeah. Well, once, uh, he was nominated, he became an a-hole. Uh, he was already in that territory sometimes as he had made snide comments. We, we mentioned this earlier, uh, to Yash about how Lala shouldn't have even been cast

[01:12:16] and would never win anything. I think surprise. Uh, but he got even worse as we saw him making nasty comments about Lala's age in the diary and calling her names, et cetera. Again, we mentioned that already, but it just, it comes to light specifically here. The thing is, if he had kept it to the DR, he would have been okay in terms of this rule, not in terms of real life, but for the game.

[01:12:42] But he didn't, as we discussed how he told her to his face, to her face, that she didn't know what was going on. He was somewhat nicer in the way he described it than he was in the DR, but the point was still there. And of course he insulted Taylor to others as well, which we already mentioned. And then he upped the ante by leading a lot of the attack on Angela when they pulled her into the meeting about who had lied about the prior vote.

[01:13:09] And sure, Haley was the main villain there with her lie and her smug smirking face after Angela blew up. But Chuck, Chuck was heavily involved in like directing that whole thing. Yeah. It's not like Kamu has the best social game in the world where he just is not saying any mean things about people. Same thing with Haley. But you know, the whole goal is to pretend, right? The whole, the whole goal here is like, you don't have to like everybody, but at least pretend.

[01:13:37] We've seen other people in the house, not pretending well, where it's very clear who they don't like. That's why Haley's on the block now. Right? Lala knew that Haley didn't have any love for her at all. And because she wasn't, she wasn't good at hiding it. You could say the same thing about Haley and Melody. They clearly don't like each other. They don't hide it. These are bad things in the game. And so for Chuck, although he's generally just there when he was doing stuff and talking

[01:14:07] like a negative skew, it was talking about people. And I know probably as best as anybody that, you know, sometimes it's fun to talk a little trash, right? It's like, you know, you're getting, you kind of bond with people talking trash. That's another reason 1001 why I wouldn't play Big Brother, because y'all would be sick of me talking shit. But for Chuck, it's like, yeah, you're doing all of this. But if it gets back to these people, they're not going to have any type of sympathy toward you when it's your time to taste the block or to get up for a vote. And it's going to be hard to win those votes.

[01:14:37] And so the more you could talk trash about people, you know, the more you're potentially highlighting that you're not working with these people long term. The diary room is perfect for this kind of stuff. Get in there. Talk trash. Make sure that you say everything you want to say in that moment. And then when you get, when they get out of the house, they'll see, oh, Chuck really said these mean things about me, but it'll be too late. But now they can get you because they see you talking about them. It was just, it was bad all around.

[01:15:06] I didn't know coming in that his social game would be his weakness. I knew he was lying about, you know, what his abilities would be. Like I knew, I knew that he didn't know what he was talking about, but it just didn't, it didn't, didn't occur to me that like strategy, fine. You know, everybody's not going to understand strategy. Hell, it takes me a long time to get to it sometime too. But socially, at least fake. Like you enjoy being around these other people. He told Rob, I think in the exit press, I only enjoyed Thog's humor. She's the, that's why I hung out with her.

[01:15:36] She's the only one who was humor I really related to. And I said, oh, Thog? Oh, okay. Well, could you try and pretend? You know, like if she's the only one you're relating to on a personality level, you're going to be, you're going to be SOL more times than not. So at least be able to fake. Yeah. Now you mentioned that, that, you know, the dire room is the perfect place to vent all your feelings.

[01:16:04] And there's a reason that on the, now that's again, rules of survivor poster here, but these are very similar. And you could see rule five, what we, the image we have on that poster is Boston Rob talking to the camera. And there's a reason for that. And the reason is that is where you should vent. That is where you should be talking about other people only to the camera.

[01:16:34] Melody told the camera that she wanted to punch lyric in the face. But when we saw melody with lyric, it was, oh my God, you're my sister and I love you. And I hate to vote you out of blah, blah, blah. And lyric didn't find out until it was too late. You know, that's, that's how this works. That is as simple as that. Talk to the camera. Don't talk to these people. Yeah. Now with this rule, we do need to remember there is, there are some subtitles to it that only come up infrequently.

[01:17:02] One of them is don't be lazy or show your bad habits. And yes, it is time to talk about that topic. Because the pertinent part of this rule says, it might seem like it shouldn't be necessary to tell people to act like an adult. But big brother history says otherwise. Strive to get rid of those bad habits that have been plaguing you. Cracking your knuckles, biting your nails, forgetting to wash your hands after using the bathroom, leaving your dirty dishes in the sink, et cetera.

[01:17:31] Similarly, make sure you do your share of the work. Clean up after yourself. Do some cooking and cleaning. You don't want to give people a reason to target you. Strategy is hard enough without fighting an uphill battle against a bad reputation. So many of those things applied to Chuck. He was busted on live feeds, not washing his hands after using the bathroom. He rarely lifted a finger to help clean, especially when it came to the bathroom, which Taylor usually had to take care of,

[01:18:01] which led to her discovering that he has a hygiene problem. Let's just say it wasn't only the bathroom that he didn't clean. And because of that, he stanked. It's so funny because so many people in the house are guilty of just being nasty and just not cleaning up, you know. And this is very common in Big Brother. It's crazy that you have to put this in writing because it's so common that people will come to this house

[01:18:30] and they're all grown. There are no children in Big Brother. Every person is above the age of 18. We're all adults. Clean up after yourself. It should not be that hard. But every year, there's always an older person in the house who says, you know what, I'll do the cleaning. You know, or there's always a more responsible person who says, you know what, I refuse to live like this, so I'm going to clean. Last year, we saw that with Rachel. She was constantly cleaning the bathroom, scrubbing stuff like that. That part, you know, no way is forcing Rachel to do that,

[01:18:59] but she doesn't want to live in fields. The problem with that is that for people who do not mind living in fields, who are making life hard for the people who want to live in a, like, clean environment, when they get power, they're not going to forget how they felt when they were cleaning up after you. You know, if you were a little bit more cleanly, if you took care of yourself, if you, you know, took care of, you know, your surroundings and Taylor didn't have to go in there and clean up after you, she might fight harder for you to stay. But if she's looking at you as another burden,

[01:19:29] if Taylor, if Lala's looking at you as another burden and you be talking shit about them and you're not strategizing with them and you, you know, like, you just pile that on top of all the rest of the stuff that's wrong with your social game, they're not going to want to keep you. If they think you smell, they're going to want to vote you out. If they think you're dirty, they're going to want to vote you out. So yeah, strategically, there's probably reason to keep you in. Sure, whatever. But if there aren't any strategic reasons to keep you in, you're also making really big social faux pas with making them just,

[01:19:59] you're making yourself unpleasant to live with. Big Brother is a marathon. Survivor, okay. Okay, out there for a few weeks at this point, right? It's nothing compared to how long it used to be. And it's not, it's definitely nothing compared to Big Brother. But in the Big Brother house, you are in a home, you're in a house. It's a parking lot, but it's a house. And these people got to live there and nobody wants to live with somebody they got to clean up after. And so that was just one more nail in the coffin for Chuck. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, obviously this alone isn't the reason he got voted out.

[01:20:27] I'm sure Taylor's nose is very happy about it. But it, yeah, it just spoke to that overall social game. Taylor had talked to him privately about this situation and he ignored her. So he had, she had to bring it up again in front of Haley. And a lot of this could have been avoided if he had just stepped up and cleaned both himself and the bathroom.

[01:20:57] It also just shows a level of respect for other people too. So it's like, if I asked you, hey, this is bothering me that you do this thing. It's not, it's not, you know, it's making me uncomfortable. I don't like the way, you know, you're not cleaning up. I think yourself is making me have to clean up more. Could you help out? And you were like, you just gonna blow me off. I think, okay, you don't give a damn about me. You know what I'm saying? You don't care about how I feel about the situation, you know? And Chuck is not the only one guilty of this. There are so many people in that house that just do not clean up after themselves.

[01:21:27] The problem is when people like Lala get in power, they're not gonna forget that. They're not gonna forget how it felt when they asked you to, hey, could you stop clipping your toenails in the sink? You know, could you stop doing these things? They're not gonna forget. They're gonna put you up or, you know, they might not put you up because you don't do those things, but that's just gonna be one less reason that they have to save you, you know, when they're thinking, okay, what are the pros and cons for this person? Like, okay, strategically, we're not aligned. Personally, we're not aligned. And they're not fun

[01:21:57] to live with. They're not fun to live with part. It's not great. It's not a good part. It's not a good asset to have in your column, right? It's not, that's not something that I would want on my, you know, big brother, you know, baseball card, like on the back, like horrible to live with too. You're gonna lose every time. You know, I think we kind of saw that last season with Kelly Jorgensen, you know, Kelly wasn't great strategically. She wasn't great socially, but then also she wasn't always pleasant to live with.

[01:22:27] She was hiding bugs in the house. You know, people don't, generally, people don't like living with bugs. It's a thing. That's why they have bug sprays and stuff like that. And she's like, no, I hid bugs for everybody to find me. Aren't I cute? Aren't I quirky? You know, no, that's annoying. And that's why at the end, when it's time for you to get jury votes, who would I rather vote for? The person who'd be helping me clean or the person who'd been making it awful to live with them? I'm probably gonna pick the person who'd been helping me clean a little bit more just on a baseline level. So it was, Chuck just couldn't,

[01:22:56] he was giving himself no room to win this game. Yeah. Yeah. Usually when we say about people in this game or other players say, you stink, we're talking about, you know, in the game sense. He managed to encompass the full meaning in all ways. Yeah, that's tough. All right, we can move on from that to the sixth rule, which says not to be too much of a threat. And we have a bit of an ironic situation here

[01:23:25] because one reason most people decided to evict Chuck, even if Barrett had won the blockbuster, so he was up against Haley, was he was not a threat. And so I guess in this regard, his plan to lie low worked and that he was seen as not a threat, but it didn't work in terms of keeping him in the game. We saw just in Thursday's episode that Barrett talked about Haley having a lot of enemies, which would be good

[01:23:55] for him as he tries to stay in the background. Dee talked on live feeds about keeping Haley because she's going to want to go against Lala, who had been talking about going after the icons. Other players also discussed how keeping her would be better because she had people she would target. And so therefore, Haley was a better potential weapon than Chuck, who pretty much everyone felt was useless in a game sense. Yeah, I think being

[01:24:25] I think for me, Chuck not being aligned with any of these people make him inherently a threat because, well, I mean, you know he's not working with you. He doesn't have any connection to Mallory, to Melody, to, I mean, I guess a little bit to Barrett, but not to Mallory, not to Melody, not to Lala, not to Taylor. So it's like, yeah, from their point of view, him existing in the house is threatening to them because if people don't want to take out Chuck, he's going to be around until he decides to take one of you out if he gets the opportunity.

[01:24:55] Now, strategically, he's not a threat to anybody. Nobody's concerned about Chuck strategically, but he was so proud of this Red Corner Alliance. The Red Corner Alliance was a threat. The three of them together, they seemed unbreakable or at least, you know, Thog and Chuck seemed unbreakable to them. And so, yeah, as a conglomerate, it's like, oh yeah, that is threatening. That's a threatening alliance. But Chuck himself, no, he wasn't threatening. If anything, just him being in the house knowing that he's not working with you is not beneficial

[01:25:24] to your game and so he can go. And like you said, there are other people who they might be more threatening but they also can benefit you in a way. What benefit is Chuck staying around to anybody who's not named Haley? Yeah. Yeah, I do have to say despite, you know, a lot of the house believing this and not that it actually mattered in the end but had they done this, had Barrett won the blockbuster, would I have thought it was the right decision?

[01:25:55] No, not at all. This is how someone comes back from the dead. It seems like everyone expects everyone else to target Haley and Haley to target the people they want her to target. But potentially nobody's going to because they all think she'll be useful to them. And it's, I mean, it's similar to how they were all working with Kamu again this past week when they should be getting him the hell out of the house. And then meanwhile they took out Chuck

[01:26:24] who was a body that they could deal with or get rid of later. Again, in this particular situation with Haley winning blockbuster, it didn't matter. But it definitely would have been a wrong decision had it come to that if Barrett had won blockbuster. I've mentioned this before. People used to look at HOH as such a like, oh, this is a curse. You win HOH first and now all of a sudden people want you out because you shed the first blood here in the house. And so people want their revenge and so you're going to be a target

[01:26:53] moving forward. But it's really an opportunity to prove your usefulness to other people. And for Haley, even though she is a house pariah, we at least know Haley has people that she's targeting. We know who those people could be. We also know people who are targeting Haley. We know that she could shield us. You know, the same shield Chuck is talking about being. Haley is actually that person in their minds. But Chuck, he doesn't have a target in mind. He doesn't have a cohesive strategy in mind that doesn't

[01:27:23] involve him and Haley and Kamu winning every competition until the end of the game. When he comes out of the house, he tells Julie, my next target would have been Lala. Well, who the hell is that going to benefit? You know what I'm saying? Who's sitting around here like, we got to get Lala out next. Thank God Chuck is here. No, nobody wants that. I mean, some of the icons, some of the icons winder gone. I don't know if they winder gone right away. Right, like next? Like, that's what I'm saying. Chuck, your next stop on this revenge tour was going to be Lala.

[01:27:53] Yeah, at that point, I'm like, I can't use him. So it's like, yeah, he's a threat in that he's a body that is taking up a spot. But as far as like somebody who I can use to further my game, Chuck is only furthering Haley's game. Everybody else is inconsequential to Chuck and so he was inconsequential to them. Yeah. Yeah, it was funny that back on July 26th, Devin's was telling Dee on live feeds that he wanted to keep around the not very bright players like Yash and Chuck and Haley.

[01:28:23] The problem was that Chuck ended up against an ally of Devin's and others. And, you know, being dim can avoid attention for you for a while. But, like we were just talking about, you need to demonstrate you can help them. Which is what Taylor tried to explain to him and he never did. So, nobody needed him. He was, like you were just saying, nobody needed him. He was not a threat

[01:28:52] to be used in any way, shape, or form. Yeah. Yeah. You know, there's a merit to laying low. But, Big Brother is not only about laying low. You have to attack. You have to have weapons at your disposal. Right? At some point, you know, we saw Ashley win her season. The whole season, people were like, I don't know if Ashley's doing anything. I don't know what Ashley's doing. I don't know if Ashley's got enough social game. I don't know if Ashley's got this. But when she needed to attack, she was aligned with the people who were in charge.

[01:29:21] The judges were in charge for a while. She was there. When Morgan and Vince started running the house, she's right at Morgan's heels. Her and Morgan. You know, she's making sure she's close to these people who are making these attacks. And then when it's time to take out the biggest threat in the game, Ashley was the one who did it. So, you have to, at some point, attack. You have to be a part of the offense. And Chuck was not on the offense for anybody. You know, like you said, he won a safety comp. Safety for him. You know, what does that do? That doesn't allow you to take down

[01:29:50] a person off the block. You can't bargain with that. Lala did win something that you could use to attack. Taylor did win a veto that you could use to bargain with. They are actively becoming threats, but they are useful threats. Chuck is just there. He's just holding up a space for somebody else to lose. And nobody wants to watch somebody like Chuck make it to the end because that means other people who were playing actively have gone out because, as you said,

[01:30:21] people are looking at him as he's not that smart or he's not that threatening. And that's just not a good place to be in Big Brother anymore. I just can't think of the last person who won like that, honestly. At some point, you have to take control of your game and Chuck had no control of what was going on in the game. Yeah. It's interesting, you mentioned the safety comp that that didn't do anything for him. All three winners at the safety comp are gone already. We're at five people gone. All three are gone.

[01:30:52] What do you think that is? Why do you think? I mean, I know we're outside the rules now, but why do you think that is? I think it's coincidence, honestly, but I think it's a funny coincidence. It shows that it really didn't do anything for them in the long game. Mm-hmm. So who were the three who won? It was Ashley, Jason, and Chuck? Rome, Jason, and him. Oh, I thought it was Ashley. It wasn't Ashley? No, it was all guys. Oh, yeah,

[01:31:22] because Ashley went home first, so she couldn't have been safe. Right. So yeah, Rome, Jason, and him. Yep. I probably said it might be something there, right, about maybe a level of complacency that they had because they were safe that first week. I mean, look at what Rome does. Certainly Jason. Certainly Jason. I said this at the time. Yeah. And I said at the time for Jason, I said he would have been much better off not being safe. And I think, I think I saw an interview quote where he even said the same thing. Like, yeah, maybe if I hadn't been safe that first week,

[01:31:51] I'd have kept my mouth shut a little bit. I mean, I think, I think there's something to that. I think if you look at Rome and Jason, they both were very complacent week one. Jason was just running his mouth because he could. And Rome was getting in a very public show, right? So it's no, it's no shock to me that these two people, they don't have their foot on the gas at all because they're fine. They're fine. They don't have to do anything. They're good for at least one week. That's a very crucial time in Big Brother. You know, that's when people are solidifying these alliances. Chuck was able to solidify

[01:32:21] Alliance during that time, but it was because he has muscles. It's because Chuck is big and they thought this man, we're going to win challenges. So Haley and Kamu were drawn to him. You know, maybe they have some type of shared personality, whatever, but he was able to use that time to get into the Alliance. But from that moment on, he was complacent as well, right? He didn't have to work that week that hard because he was safe and then his Alliance won the next week and his Alliance won the next week. And now here it is after three or four weeks, he's like, wait, whoa, hold on. Now I got to play Big Brother? I think there is something to say there,

[01:32:51] David, about, you know, not coming out of the gate swinging week one or at least actively positioning yourself to do better in the game. I think maybe long term, it might not be the best thing because you have to start playing Big Brother later than everybody else. Yeah. Yeah, that's a very good point. I think so. I think so. I hadn't even thought about it. That was interesting. Yeah. Mm-hmm. All right. Well, we could go on to the seventh rule which says to trust almost nobody. And we already know that Chuck trusted his whole alliance

[01:33:21] so much that he was happy to let them do all the gaming for him. Even after it exploded, he still trusted them and told Mike Bloom, sitting next to Barrett, I literally was taking a chance that my alliance got together to formulate a way to save me since we had the numbers. The red corner had the numbers. No, Chuck, there was no red corner. The red corner was gone, demolished, vaporized. But he still clung to this notion.

[01:33:50] We already talked about how he picked Kamu to play the veto comp. Kamu didn't use the veto on him. And he still thought that this alliance could come together. He was burned twice by different people in the same alliance and he still thought they would save him. They were blindsided with the lyric blindside, right? And then we, like, Chuck knows, he knows he voted to keep lyric.

[01:34:20] He knows that. Right. And they had Chuck questioning everything. Like, right? Like, he knows that he voted to keep lyric. He knows that. But he comes into this week with so much uncertainty, you would think, okay, he doesn't trust Kamu, right? He doesn't. He doesn't trust Haley even. Maybe he, well, Haley was HOH, so he could trust Haley. But Kamu, at the very least, there should be some question about what Kamu did because you voted to keep lyric. You don't have three votes.

[01:34:50] There should be other people who voted with you, right? We know Yash voted with you. We know you voted with you. But you should be questioning these other people. Then we see him at that, you know, once the veto competition is coming up, Haley and Chuck are saying, well, maybe, maybe we shouldn't use the veto on ourselves to keep Kamu from getting back door. Do you remember that happened? That's a thing that happened. They did not want to use the veto on themselves because what if Kamu goes up?

[01:35:20] You, you can't still trust this man like that. Some people have retroactively suggested that Haley was just being smart and suggesting it to, to the not very bright Chuck so that if he won veto, he wouldn't use it on himself, but that she would have used it. I see, I have seen no evidence that this was true. And, you know, maybe she sat in the diary room and we're never going to see

[01:35:50] that diary room because it never mattered. I don't think it was true. I think that they really did believe this just based on everything else that they have said. Let's say, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt here because he then goes and, because I didn't know that. I didn't know people were assuming that. And now that you mention it, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt because he then goes and says, okay, I want Kamu to use the veto so I'm going to vote for him. I'm going to pick him so that he can win it and use the veto on me. Again,

[01:36:19] this is the same Kamu that you should not trust at all anymore because counting the votes and less hurt, like at this point you shouldn't trust anybody to use the veto on you but specifically the people that you thought were going to vote with you, right? At this point, you should be picking somebody who's going to lose the veto. You need to be picking somebody who you think you can beat. If this is an athletic competition, yeah, maybe put Angela in there. You know what I'm saying? Like if you got to put somebody on the block, put somebody up there that you think that, okay,

[01:36:48] at least I have a better chance than doing them. We'll find out later on that Chuck, you know, in the blockbuster, I don't really know what his strengths are when it comes to these big brother games. I'm not saying he's not athletic. The dude is huge. He's jacked. But maybe he doesn't have that great of a chance to win any given competition but putting Kamu in there, somebody who we've already shown is really good in competitions, second on the wall, he won an HOH. You know, that is not a good idea if you yourself want to win the veto. You should not be counting

[01:37:17] on people that you cannot trust to take you off the block. And so, he trusted him way too much but he had no one else that he could trust. It was just Haley and Kamu. He has no other alliance. He couldn't trust Yash. He was barely good with him. And so, this goes back to him not socializing and not making the bonds necessary to gain trust with everybody else. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Well, it is about time to wrap things up. So, what are your final thoughts about Chuck?

[01:37:47] To me, Chuck is not, because I know I've been hard on Chuck. And I really do. I don't think Chuck, I don't think Chuck knew. Okay. I stand by what I said. Chuck did not know what the hell he was talking about going into this game. To me, that is a flaw in casting for sure because the people should at least know what the goal of the game is. You know, how to maneuver through the game. Fine. You ain't got to watch Big Brother a million times. We love to see recruits do stuff. Some of the best players we've had in reality TV have been recruits

[01:38:17] of something. I don't know about if I can say that a bit, Big Brother, but some of the best players of Survivor for sure have shown up as recruits, you know. But Chuck is to me a cautionary tale. You know, do your research. Come into the game, having a good understanding of what's going on. Compare Chuck to Kamu and how their game has been going thus far. They were in the same alliance, but we see what Kamu did with the time in that alliance and we see how Chuck did it. Chuck, who I told you, did not know what he was talking about. He had not been watching the show. He said casually,

[01:38:46] but I'd like to acknowledge that Big Brother is not a game that you can probably understand watching casually. Like if you say, hey, I watched every season, I don't necessarily call you a casual fan. Like, yeah, you might not be watching the feeds, but you're at least locked in to know the general strategy. But when you say you casually watch it, to me, that sounds like you catch it when it's on or when you're, when it's, but you need to really understand the way the game is broken down, how these people win the game, how these people lose the game, David, to, you know, not to shout out this own podcast, but I mean,

[01:39:16] here we are. And so he just went in with limited knowledge of what was going on. He had a week of complacency followed by two weeks of complacency. And then when it was time for him to play Big Brother, he just was a fish out of water and he was in so deep that he just started to drown. And while he was floundering around, kicking and screaming to say, he was just hurling insults at people the whole time and not actually making any moves to do better in the game. So yeah, I'm hoping that if he does get his wish of going to play the challenge, that at least he will go

[01:39:46] and talk to those people. But I imagine he'll probably suffer the same fate immediately after unless he learns how to have a social game and to talk to people outside of his alliance. Maybe Chuck didn't find his people in the house and that happens. We said the same thing about Jason. But Chuck, you had every opportunity to try. You had a month. You didn't try. So for that, David, it was his time and it's tough to go out this way. But I mean, I can't really say much positive about Chuck's game.

[01:40:16] Yeah. Yeah, I mentioned earlier, I don't bring out this shirt for just anyone. The stupid is as stupid does shirt. You have to be a special level of clueless to deserve it. And not only to deserve it, but I mentioned I'm not home. I had to specifically pack this shirt just to bring for this podcast. I had to use valuable suitcase room. That is how strongly I felt. That tells a story

[01:40:45] in itself. Chuck truly did need a Big Brother for Dummies book, as Taylor said. The problem is he wouldn't have read past the first few pages because it would have told him to do things he didn't want to do or didn't understand or he would have like argued with the book and said it was wrong. You know that old saying that it takes more muscles to frown than it does to smile? Well, Chuck spent more energy avoiding doing what he should have been doing in the game than it would have

[01:41:15] taken to actually do it. He poured all his effort into complaining about Taylor's advice rather than like considering and actually taking it. He sat around with Haley talking about how great they were rather than talking to other players to convince them. that he was worth keeping because of that. His ego and stubbornness caused him to have a completely false view of where everyone stood in the game and he wasn't able to gather any information that would have helped set him straight

[01:41:44] because he was too busy isolating himself. Perhaps because he didn't want to encounter anything that would challenge his assumptions. So he just kept going along the same path even when circumstances around him completely changed. He put all of his game in the hands of the Red Corner and just thought he could sail through at least half the game on their backs. When that ship was torpedoed he ignored the loud blast in Russian water and acted like the boat was still seaworthy

[01:42:13] despite all of the evidence and the alarms blaring to abandon ship. Most viewers forgot Chuck was on the show for the first four weeks. Then he appeared quickly disappeared and will soon be forgotten. He still doesn't understand Big Brother and while he was saying Lala shouldn't have been on the show in fact he was the one who never should have been cast. He wasn't even an interesting villain type of character like we said. He was a dud.

[01:42:42] He didn't play the game and he refused to listen to those who did know how to play and that is why Chuck lost. Oh yeah that's tough man. I hadn't even put the parallel together that my biggest issue with this week was the casting where I was like why is Chuck here? And Chuck's whole question was why is Lala here? And he was like looking in the mirror pointing at yourself seeing that thing about seeing your bad trait in other people and I think

[01:43:12] for Chuck he just was so comfortable David. He was just so comfortable that he thought everything was this was it. This is just how you play Big Brother. We just keep winning and winning until we just win the game. Okay. Yeah. Ego. Ego. Yeah. You know people people talked about his gym muscles. Yeah. You know and yeah he has good muscles. Did it help him win any comp? I don't know that there were any comps that necessarily would have helped him win to this point.

[01:43:42] You know but so yeah. All right. Well everybody even though we just had our conclusions about Chuck be sure you stay tuned for our predictions in a moment which as we've mentioned are spoiler free written without any knowledge of what happened on the feeds after the eviction. But first a few other things I want to mention and I already popped this up once the rules that we are referencing here are very similar to the survivor rules and those come in a shorter much more colorful version in poster form. So you can go to

[01:44:12] rob has a website dot com slash why it's lost feed scroll down to the poster and click on it. They also come in a poster on a t-shirt form. You can find that there as well and you have a poster on sorry not poster checklist on a t-shirt form. So again I know we don't have big brother ones but for now you know survivor ones if you're a survivor fan too they are available. Beyond that

[01:44:40] since big brother is a 24-7 game make sure you follow us on social media to get all of our full thoughts throughout the week. I post videos every day on TikTok, YouTube and Instagram where I'm at David Bloomberg TV. I've been making two or three videos per day with various things from the show fun things my thoughts whether it's the live feeds or clips from the show that I'm

[01:45:10] talking about. I recently passed 15,000 on TikTok trying to get to 10,000 on Instagram mentioned before that I had won a few well won a contest on TikTok and placed in a few others. I finally found out which videos those were and we'll be posting about that soon. The one that I won was actually one about a survivor video that I posted looking back in time to co-wrong of all times.

[01:45:41] So yeah come join the fun there. I've also been podcasting about the Traders Australia season three on the Tradar podcast. I'm co-hosting every other episode all season. I am also going to be co-hosting for some of the Traders India podcast that just started Thursday. Hopefully I'll be on that starting next week. But for all of that you can find my various accounts on my Linktree

[01:46:10] which is Linktree slash David Bloomberg. That of course includes Blue Sky where both of us make our social media homes and we encourage everyone else to do likewise at least through your big brother discussions I say for everything. So many major accounts have moved it's just a better community to be overall. Absolutely. So I've been tasked with trying to get Becca Devins over on Blue Sky for what I just can't She has an account but she rarely uses it.

[01:46:39] So you see my choose to accept it. So I'm going to be trying to get Becca Devins to interact with us on Blue Sky. She's on the awful place and it's just horrible over there. I just know that we can show her some cool things over the Blue Sky. I'm at Chappelle's Kickback and you can find David at David Bloomberg. Make sure you follow us on social media and check out Recap Kickback for all of my latest podcast stuff including covering TV movies. We did a Brent Steele simulation of

[01:47:09] black cartoon characters playing Big Brother. That is up on my YouTube page. YouTube.com slash at Recap Kickback. I believe we just hit 3,000 subscribers so that's pretty exciting. If you haven't already subscribed go over there and subscribe on YouTube or subscribe to the podcast Recap Kickback dot com slash subscribe. And if Big Brother and reality TV content is more your thing you can also find me on the slop where we break down all the Big Brother drama. We don't really talk about the gameplay too much

[01:47:38] David but I'm sure we'll have a lot to say about some of the sloppier things that have happened inside and out of the house this week. And then of course you might even catch a shout out for me on Big Brother Unlocked because I cover that show too for RHAP. So catch me on the We Know Big Brother feed or We Know Reality TV dot com as well. Yeah. Yeah. Also wanted to mention or just as a reminder I will be at RHAPCon in Milwaukee at the end of August. So that is

[01:48:08] like I don't know it feels what is it less than two weeks away I think two weeks. Yeah. So hopefully I will see some podcast listeners watchers there. If you haven't gotten tickets yet check out RHAPCon dot com. All right. Predictions. Again we write these up before even the HOH comp so that means that we can either accidentally be hilariously right or hilariously wrong.

[01:48:37] So we discussed Chuck was getting booted out of the house unless he actually won the blockbuster. And you know a big part of the reason for that flip that didn't end up mattering was the people wanted Haley in so she could go after Lala and Taylor. Now I'm not going to specifically predict a Haley HOH win but it seems like there are so many people against Lala in this situation.

[01:49:08] Even though like you and I have been talking about I don't know that Lala is the one you really want to target next but she mentioned the icons names and you know if you know D you mention her name you're dead. So that is what she is thinking right now. And I think there are a few potentially interesting situations where like if Melody wins she could go after Kamu. But even if she tried he has multiple attempts to save himself.

[01:49:38] So I don't think it is going to be someone like a Kamu. I think it's going to be Lala going from the penthouse to the outhouse. And unfortunately I don't like it for a number of reasons. The one that I really don't like the most for is Chuck will get satisfaction of seeing her follow him out the door if that happens. So I certainly don't want that to occur but I think that it might. See and I think Lala is just a waste

[01:50:07] of shot for most people. You know like don't get me wrong definitely with the blockbuster and with the vetoes and powers and stuff there's a where she ends up on the block. And probably going home. You would think that Chuck wouldn't be that big of a threat to anybody yet. We saw him go out the door right to Barrett who has a lot of different allegiances in the house. But David I'll say it once I'll say it again. And this is when I'm a single issue voter. I need to I need Kamu out the house. And so give me the thog HOH David. I want it. Give me the thog HOH.

[01:50:37] We're targeting Kamu. Kamu leaving on thog HOH would heal my wounds that this show has given me this year. I need it. I need that. Yeah. Yeah. I need that. Put it in my veins. So I don't know how it happens. But seeing thog kind of win again would also be hilarious. Don't get me wrong. She's not the most pleasant person ever. but they hate her so much. We would get the same energy we had last week. This week it's Chuck. You know whatever. It's not that

[01:51:06] exciting. But when thog was in power and we had Melody talking about her and thog talking about Melody and the fighting the beef. Yeah. I like when the power shifts back and forth. I don't think Lala would be her number one target. So like you said she could catch that stray bullet and be out of the game too. but Kamu back door even just Kamu being on the block and just failing to save himself a couple times. And she has very she has reason to do it. He had the opportunity to save her. He did not. And so I just think

[01:51:36] turnabout is fair play here. And so she should target him and get him out of the game. And then I can post my thog fan cam on Blue Sky once again. Yeah. Yeah, I just I want him gone too. I don't like the fact that he's starting to get a positive edit. We have seen this before. We have seen the bigot get a positive edit because they're not being themselves essentially in Big Brother. So a lot of

[01:52:05] the fans have no idea what they're like in real life. And then they get this positive edit and some of them end up going on Amazing Race even, you know, and because they got such a good edit and things like that. And it's just like, no, no, do not give this man a good edit. Get him out of the house before he can become some sort of favorite. Get rid of him. Yeah. And he's decent at the game and that makes it even more annoying, right? Because like we found a good

[01:52:35] player, but he also, you know, I just can't align with him at any, in any shape, form, fashion. And so I was like, yeah, listen, I can't acknowledge that he's good at the game and also acknowledge that I want him out of the house bad. So he needs to go and I want Thog to be the one to do it just so it stings a little bit more. Yeah. Yeah. All right. As we wrap up, I want to encourage people to check out the RGP patron program at Rob has a website.com slash patron. In addition to Facebook groups and Discord, there are several patron only podcasts for Big Brother, including, of

[01:53:05] course, the one you mentioned, The Slop, where I believe you first detailed the stinky aspects of Chuck. So sorry for making you discuss that a second time. No, I think that conversation happened after we recorded The Slop. So I actually think that this might be the first time I waited on it. Did I just see so much content about it? I assumed you had talked about it too. You saw Slop content and you were like, yep,

[01:53:34] this sounds about right. But no, I have not spoken up. By the time I get to it, I don't know. I think it'd be yesterday's news. I think the news cycle moves very quickly. I didn't even get to talk about Lyric peeing in the shower. By the time it got to me, it was over. People had moved on. Okay, why did I think you had? All right. I guess I could just hear it in your voice talking about it. You know it's there. Yeah, you know it's coming.

[01:54:05] Yeah. Well, you know, patrons can find out what Chappelle really talks about on the Slop and other podcasts from Rob. So, yeah, like I said, Rob has a website.com slash patron. Support the Slop, our show and everything else by becoming a patron because, you know, your support is really what keeps us doing what we do. I mean, like I say this all the time, we would do this without you, but it's way

[01:54:34] much more fun with the support of the patrons and being able to, you know, hear back from people. We read the comments, you know, we interact online. And so, yeah, join the patron community at RHAP and, you know, make sure you subscribe to all the podcasts. Yeah, yes. You can subscribe to those at weknowbigbrother.com and, you know, there you'll find obviously us but also all the other Big Brother podcasts from the daily live feed updates to the episode recaps to

[01:55:04] Summer of Stein, whatever. It's all there. Yeah, and we couldn't make any of this happen without the great team behind the scenes at RHAP and the Reality TV Rap-Ups family and, you know, everybody else that we work alongside that post and make all of this positive Big Brother content possible. Yes, and thank you, of course, Chappelle, for another great episode, even with a not-so-great person to discuss, not-so-great at the game,

[01:55:34] which may be the nicest thing we've said about him this entire podcast, you know, in almost two hours, not-so-great. That's the highest compliment we've given him. But, yes, thank you, and, of course, we will see everyone in a week, or find us on social media and chat with us there. Either way, until then, bye. Peace. Peace.
