BB28 Week 4 Exit Interview

[00:00:00] Hey everybody, what's going on? Rob Cesternino back! Yes, and we're going to be talking with the latest person to be evicted from the Big Brother house in a big blindside on Thursday night. That is going to be Lyric, who ended up being the victim of a last-minute house flip. We'll talk to her about everything that went on on a very busy, newsy night in the Big Brother house. In addition to the vote, there was also the big HOH competition that went into the wee hours of the morning.

[00:00:29] Taryn is going to have a breakdown of all that with Puya coming up as well on the live feed update in just a little bit. But first, let's go ahead and bring in our conversation with Lyric. Hey Lyric, what's going on? You're here with Rob and Taran Armstrong from RHAP and Lyric. I'm surprised to see you go out this week. I know you are too, but we were big believers in you.

[00:00:54] I thought you were such a talented player. It seemed like that when you needed to, you were so good at manipulating some of the people in the house. Do you think that maybe in another world, I know that you think the world of Rome, in another lifetime though, that with no Rome in the house, do you think it would have been different for you?

[00:01:12] 100% absolutely. Would I treat it for the world though? Absolutely not. Oh my gosh, I'm so in love with Rome. And I know people think it's crazy that it's only been two weeks. People probably think it's nuts that we fell in love that fast.

[00:01:25] But honestly, in that big brother house, when you find someone who makes you feel protected and safe and taken care of, you hold on to them tight. And that's exactly how I felt with Rome. That's why I told him I was an attorney from the get go. I'm like, I trust you. And I hope that this shows my trust to you. And also like, hello, he's gorgeous. I was like, oh God, this is going to be hard and easier the whole time. And we're here together.

[00:01:50] I mean, yeah, you were the muscles, the freaking smile. I'm like, dang, this boy is good looking. And he's so alpha too. We love, we love that.

[00:02:03] Love it. You were very good at winning some of the guys over, especially with the plan to like do the fake breakup. Once Rome left, you had Yash, you had Chuck, you had Kamu all just kind of like fighting for your honor to the point actually where like it almost worked too well is what we kind of talked about that like you had Kamu fighting for you so hard that everyone was like, oh, Haley's jealous now.

[00:02:30] Oh, and that's, yeah. And that's kind of part of why we think she ended up putting you up on the block is that Kamu was like, no, Lyric can't go up. And she was like, why? Why Kamu? Dang, that's nice to know. I love Kamu. The minute that we, that we met, we had the Hawaii connection. And so obviously we had some sort of trust established. And then the week before with Kamu being HOH and him putting up on the block and me being cool about it, I think that showed some trust too.

[00:02:56] Um, I remember talking to Chuck and Kamu and being like, when I was a consideration for a renom, I literally went up to both of them. I said, fight for me. Like, I need you fight for me. And they just kept telling me, you know, at the end of the day, it's Haley's HOH. And I knew from the beginning that if Haley had an opportunity to put me up, she would like, I knew that. And so going into this week, I kind of had to mentally prepare myself for going home because I knew if someone came down, I would probably go up.

[00:03:24] Lyric, we saw you in the house. You were really, you were so good at whoever you were talking to, making them feel like that you were really on their side, whether it was the Littles or Yash or Kamu and Chuck. And we didn't ever truly know where your loyalties lied. Who were the people that you were the most loyal to?

[00:03:48] I loved Mallory and Melody, but, um, I knew that if they stuck together, they would be them against the world. It would be the two girls against the world. I told myself, I said, moving into this week, I need to find people who I can work with, who will compete and win competitions and keep me safe. Because ultimately you learn really quickly, whoever has the power controls everything in that house. And so work with people who are going to win competitions, align with them so that you can ensure your own safety.

[00:04:15] And so I offered myself to Chuck Kamu and Yash too, saying, I can win things. Let's work together because you can win things too. Let's keep each other safe in this game. I think maybe, you know, I did think to myself, I was like, throughout this game, it's a marathon. If Haley goes, I can probably take her spot and, you know, have the guys form an alliance with me or something like that. Um, but in order to do that, I would have to win something to be able to put Haley up on the block. And I also would like to establish trust.

[00:04:45] And so there was that pushback of wanting to put Haley up if I want H-O-H, but also wanting to establish trust with her, Chuck and Kamu. So it was like this hard battle that I was dealing with, but I told myself in this game, I'm staying true to my character. I want my parents to watch this and be like, we're so proud of her. I know that this is forever. So I was like, Lyric, no matter what you do, walk with your head held up high, fight for yourself when you need to, but stay true to you.

[00:05:11] So, yes, you talked about Yash. You two had come together, made a little bit of a final two thing there. And, and it was interesting because it, to me, it reminded me a little bit of, of like a June and Allison, like two kind of floaters kind of coming together because Yash was also kind of doing something similar with both sides.

[00:05:32] And it seemed really promising. Yash probably fought the hardest to keep you around, I think this week of anybody, because he really, I think, wanted to stay, wanted to keep, he thought that you were very valuable to this game. And I think that this was something that really had potential. What was, what was your thought process on the relationship you had with Yash? The whole time I knew I could trust him, 100%. He told me things that you wouldn't tell just anyone.

[00:05:59] He told me, if you want to join an alliance, if you want to get in with people, you have to be a warrior outside of the castle and present yourself to other people in this house as a warrior, someone who's going to fight and compete and win. And he gave me so many good pointers. He told me, Lyric, you can't worry about being a villain and how America's going to view you in here because that paints you out to be a bad ally, someone who's going to be timid and scared and not do things that are right for their game because they're scared of how they're going to be perceived.

[00:06:25] Yash had my back. I felt like this last week was the hardest week I've ever had to go through because I felt like I was fully alone. I felt Mallory turning on me so fast. I knew her and Melody were having conversations together all the time. But honestly, I told myself, let them. Let them. But let me advocate for myself and try and get myself out of this situation. Let me try and win this blockbuster. I knew that when I didn't win the blockbuster, I was going home.

[00:06:50] I knew it. And I knew it because when you have a competitor in Big Brother who's won things against two people who haven't won anything, you're going home. It's as simple as day. You're going home. And so I had to mentally prepare myself all week for that. And the anxiety I felt, freaking nuts. I don't wish that on anyone. I remember going to sleep and I couldn't because my heart was pounding out of my chest. I slept with Rome's hoodie every single night. I could still smell him on it. And that's like the one thing that got me to go to sleep at night.

[00:07:21] Could you just take us through on your day yesterday if there was anything you noticed that made you feel particularly ominous heading into the blockbuster? Obviously a lot of chatter. I noticed D went into the diary room a heck a lot. Yeah, I never I never found out now that it was D and Devin's plotting against me and that's totally fine. Devin's is so quick to end a conversation with me. We barely talked in that house.

[00:07:48] I think he's very funny. One moment that we did have together is early on in the game. It was Juju's birthday and he started crying and I was the one person that went up to him and gave him a hug and really tried to comfort him and be there for him. But as we all say in Big Brother, it's always a game, right? So you can be as nice as you possibly can to someone on a personal level, but they'll come for you on a game level. And that's just how the cookie crumbles. Yeah, D in particular, because as you said, it came together.

[00:08:15] I mean, very last minute, like you were you were safe against both Drew and Melody up until hours before the eviction when D had wanted to flip it against Drew. But then also just kind of like on a whim was like, oh, we should also keep Melody, though, against Lyric.

[00:08:38] And in part of the reasoning that she told Angela to convince Angela was that she had this conversation with you where you seemed reluctant to want to put up people like Kamu and Chuck. And she was like, we need people who are going to put Kamu and Chuck on the block. And so they she pushed for in part for that reason. But it was close. Well, you know, D had a conversation with me in the gym and I was reluctant to tell her about Chuck, Haley and Kamu putting them up because I knew that they were allies.

[00:09:07] And so I was thinking, you guys are allies. I'm not going to tell you I'm going to put up your allies because that's not smart. But honestly, I don't know. And she also gave me a strategy. She was like, tell Chuck, Haley and Kamu that you're coming for D. And like, girl, you're setting me up. I'm not going to go around saying your name. There's no hacking way. Like, I'm not telling them I'm coming for D. You guys are in an alliance together. Like, I'm not going to create my deathbed. You know what I mean? And so I knew in that moment that something was going on. She was plotting.

[00:09:36] Also, I asked her if I could talk to her the next day. And she was like, is it urgent? And I was like, no. So she was obviously working on something. D is a good player. She wants Survivor. Totally understandable. Am I upset that I left? For sure. I wanted to win HOH at a certain point and protect the people I love. Did I want to make it to final two with Yash? Yeah. But am I grateful that I got out when I did, too? Yes. Because holy crap, things are about to go down in that house.

[00:10:02] And I'm just, I'm hoping that, you know, it's not Yash that goes down with them. Because I love him and I'm rooting for him. And I want him to win the whole thing. You have such a great attitude about everything. And you were so positive talking about everybody when you came out of the house. I know it stings to get blindsided by everybody in the house. Does it give you any consolation to know that you peed in the shower so much and that you really got them?

[00:10:30] What is everyone talking about this peeing in the shower? No one can lie to me right now and tell me they have never peed in the shower. Like, there's no way. There were articles written about it. About me peeing in the shower? Yeah. Listen, this is weird. This is big news, Lyric. The articles. The articles are weird. Yeah. Are you joking? That's crazy. Well, you know what? Everyone's peed in the shower at some point in time. I make my case in that I washed my body and there was lots of soap afterwards.

[00:11:00] So, you know what? It's all clear. Dang. That's crazy. I had no idea. I will never do that again. I promise. If I'm in a house with 60 people coming for me all the time, I will never pee in the shower again. But I left my mark. Yes. You're number one to us, Lyric. Okay? Yeah. All right.
