BB28 Wednesday Veto Ep Recap, Week 6

Big Brother 28 brings the tension as the Diamond Power of Veto shakes up the house’s plans. In this recap episode, Rob Cesternino, Mary, and Pooya discuss Devens’ big decision and the fallout from Kamu’s surprise nomination, dissecting the shifting alliances and what this means for the next eviction.

[00:00:08] Hey everybody, what's going on? Rob Sestrano back with you on Wednesday night. A Veto Ceremony, a diamond power of Veto Ceremony. And this podcast has only just begun. And I'm so excited to be here with our panel. And of course, we're so excited to be back with Frail Mary. Mary, how are you?

[00:00:33] I'm doing great. I, you know, I thought about doing like a Lord of the Latrine costume. Didn't really have anything. Closest I could get was the Pirate of the Potty. And I only have a saxophone instead of like a long trumpet. So I gave up on that idea. It'll play. It'll play. Wear it to RehabCon. I'll do that. Sure. If you see me dress like a pirate carrying around a saxophone, you'll know why.

[00:00:59] Yeah. And then back with us, it's the Duke of Deception. Here he is. It's Pooey Zavikili Pooey. How are you? I'm good. I'm relieved that I'm not in a position where I have to be perceived now with Mary announcing that I need to take a bathroom break. So thank you, Mary, for deciding to nix the costume because I wouldn't have been here for it. Yes. How are you doing tonight, Pooey? Yeah.

[00:01:22] I'm doing good, you know. I'm doing good. Energy's up. Vibes are high. Big Brother's been delivering. The episodes have been fun. And I'm back second Wednesday with you in a row, Rob. Yes. So can't be too mad at me. All right. And we'll be together next Wednesday also when we are out in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for RehabCon coming up next week. We'll talk more about that later.

[00:01:45] But a big episode here tonight as we really are going through Rick Devin's thought process and at points, literally going through his thoughts with him in the episode as he ultimately decides to use the diamond power of Vito to take D off of the block and put Kamu on the block.

[00:02:05] And we will find out what happens in just 24 hours as we watch our week six eviction. And then we'll be talking about it live on Thursday night. Be a fun podcast. Captain Will is going to join us on the podcast tomorrow night.

[00:02:21] Fun. And of course, if you like hearing from the Big Brother alumni, you're going to love what's going on over on chat BCC. You can find out what there's probably about 40 to 50 alumni, including people from this season. Jason is on there too now. Go on over to BB28.chat. Not BB28.chuck. He's not there. Okay. Don't be looking for Chuck on chat BCC. I'm sorry.

[00:02:51] I am like the phone. That was great. I did like that editing choice. It's a great moment. It's a great moment when we see the house guest who's left and we hear them from beyond the grave. And maybe that could be the case when Kamu potentially could go home on Thursday night. We'll break down the vote and everything else.

[00:03:16] But we have to start with our big power of veto ceremony, which we did not get to see. We saw it for the first time. Mary, what was your reaction to Diamond Devins doing Rick Devins things? You know, it was fun. We're just really embracing the Jeff Probst references, really using Survivor a lot in here.

[00:03:43] I don't know why. I thought that maybe just because of the siree of it all that we would be leaning away from constantly the Survivor talk. But, you know, he hammed it up a little bit. It was fun. It was fun. Yeah. What do you think, Pooja? It was too nice. Like, you know, we're declaring war out here. Let's be a little bit meaner. Especially, Yash didn't look happy. Kamu was seething. I would lean into that a little more.

[00:04:10] And I think that this was a good, I don't remember where I read this, but someone brought this up that, like, this is probably why things were a little bit tame after the ceremony on feeds. It's because Devins ultimately, he's not a mean guy. Even when he does these things, he does it with a joke. So, the energy is going to be a little bit more calm, cool, collected. But I wanted fireworks. And we didn't get fireworks. We wanted fireworks. We just don't get fights like that in, you know. No.

[00:04:38] In the same way. Like, even the biggest fights so far, which have been, like, Angela versus people. Like, she's already made up. She makes up, like, an hour later with everybody. Mm-hmm. Yeah. But at least Angela gives us the moment. And, you know, this was, you know, cool that it happened. We were all very excited to see it.

[00:04:58] But I think that Rick, in his delivery, I think it is with a joke and is why he comes across as such a nice guy in here. And this was a very nice guy way of delivering the news to Kamlo. Right. Like, I, like, listen, far be it from me. I'm sitting comfortably at home armchair quarterback in this moment. But, like, I did feel like it was also a little wordy. Like, he clearly wanted to bring Survivor into it.

[00:05:27] And it was just one too many sentences in there. He wanted to highlight, like, you know, the people are going to be mad at me. Jeff Rose is going to be mad at me if I don't use it on the one Survivor in the house. But it just felt like we went around twice before we took a turn. Yeah, the motive was the Survivor thing. There was, I think that there were some interesting choices that they made in terms of how they decided to tell this story. Because I think you could have had a few different angles on it.

[00:05:52] At no point is there any discussion of Yash using the veto on anybody else. This strictly was an episode about Rick Devins has the diamond power of veto. Is he going to use it to save his friend? But, Mary, something that was occurring is the issue of the BB bribe. And that was omitted completely from this episode. Um, yeah. So we had, like, a little bit in the previous episode, right, with the BB bribe.

[00:06:21] Right. She offered it to Yash and he declined. We did not do any of the, like, de-offering Devins, offering to Devins the BB bribe. And so that he would, like, claim that was his reason for needing to do it and all of that. Um, I, it's, it's, it's always interesting to me that they throw so much in this show and then the stuff they choose to put in and not.

[00:06:48] Because, like, in the previous episode, I was surprised that we had, like, one moment of the Lord of the Latrine. But, oh, don't worry. We brought that back for this one. You got a lot tonight. Yeah. Yeah, I got a lot more of that. Um, but considering the fact that this is the hour and a half long episode, I feel like they definitely could have used more. Um, and especially because we really barely saw any of the fallout even from Yash not accepting Dee's BB bribe.

[00:07:16] Um, and, like, who else now knows about it and stuff like that. Mm-hmm. Yeah. I feel like that we're sort of like, okay, we're not talking about that right now. Forget about that. We'll bring it back up if we need to. Which I think that's, yeah. Maybe don't put flop prizes in here if you, if you want them to get used.

[00:07:35] I think the fact that the, the bribe is still on the table, like she can still, it's going to stay until someone accepts it, means that they don't need to talk about it because it's going to come up again. And they're going to have to re regurgitate some of this content anyway with the next person. Um, I want to preface by saying I did say at the start of the episode, I've been enjoying the episodes. They've been very fun. Because can I make a, can I make a, a, and, you know, I'm glad Mary's here. Because I know Mary knows production.

[00:08:05] Mary knows set pieces. Mary knows design. She knows a lot of things. Mary, can you talk to us about this Diamond Power of Vito and this arts and crafts that they did with this? Because it didn't feel diamond-y. It didn't feel glamorous to me. It felt like a project that a child made. Yeah. Do we have a picture of it? See if we can find one. Let's see if Sam can track it. I didn't look at it too closely. Pooja, what was your observation of the Diamond Power of Vito?

[00:08:31] Well, you know, back in BB12, when Matt Hoffman pulls it out of his pocket, it falls apart. It doesn't look like we've done many changes 16 seasons later. It felt kind of haphazardly put together. It looked like someone had individually glued rhinestones. Yeah, there you go. See? Yes. It's like a clear Vito with some, yeah, like clear bedazzling on it.

[00:08:59] There's a lot more we could have done here. At least use like the sparkly ones. Instead, they're just the clear ones. Look, I don't know. For anyone who's following my Twitter, you might have seen this a couple weeks ago. But I acquired an onion power of Vito a couple weeks ago and it looked better than this. What do you mean you had an onion power of Vito? It was eating onion rings in one of the really power of Vito. Oh, yes. Okay, I did see that. I did see that. Yes. Yeah, it was great.

[00:09:29] But look, you know, yeah, Devin's is having to work with a lot here. And I don't think I've mentioned this. Maybe I have. Sorry if I have. I don't think I've mentioned this on a podcast so far this year. But considering the fact that Devin and I are there's my onion power Vito. Yeah, that's Sam. Sam's quick on it. Pretty damn good. I mean, look how good that is. Yeah. It was great. Did you make that? No, it was in my cookout box. Wow. And a cookout. Yeah. Wow.

[00:09:58] Very Big Brother coated. Yeah. But Devin's and I, we're both fellow alums from the same college. And so every time I see him wearing his college shirts and sweatshirts, which I think is the first time in the Big Brother house I've ever seen anyone from Virginia Tech. So shout out to Devin's. It's very fun for me. So he can do no wrong for me right now. Yeah. Okay.

[00:10:23] Well, many people felt like he could do no wrong when he put Kamu up on the block this week. And so we maybe thought that there would be a big reaction from Kamu. But even in the diary room, Pouya, a little bit of a muted response from Kamu, who I guess is used to, okay, in his MMA, all right, I can't get too worked up.

[00:10:49] I have to just now deal with the consequences or the facts as they are right now. Yeah. I think that there's not much that you can say when you were in a very safe spot and an entire diamond power of Vito had to come unearth you into the block. Like, I think it's a very tough draw and like, you can be sulking about it. You can be angry about it, or you can just stay composed and figure out what your next move is.

[00:11:18] And I think someone like Kamu, we've learned that he cares about his impressions deeply, how people see him and perceive him matter to him. I don't think he wants to look bitter or salty. I think he wants to look like, you know, I was harmed. I was punched down, but I got back up, but I didn't flinch. That's what he's trying to give us. But I will say just off body language and facial reactions, he looked angry to me. That read angry. That entire moment read angry.

[00:11:48] Yeah. I feel like that the best moment of the whole ceremony was when Rick Devins announced that the Vito ceremony was just getting started. That got the best reaction out of the whole thing. That was good. It did. And like, obviously, Dee knew about the diamond power Vito. Angela knew. But like, this is not the first time in Big Brother where something dramatic will happen like that. I feel like this, you know, I'm trying to remember when another time this happened. Maybe the twin twist or something.

[00:12:18] But like, when everyone starts like cheering and clapping and laughing, it's like, guys, this is not going to be good for some of you. And I think everyone really likes to, they all like to seem like they're in on the joke. They're in on the excitement, which I think from like a- Something's happening. Oh, look at this. It would be so much more funny and so much more impactful. I feel like if everyone just like went silent and like looked scared. And I know they don't want to.

[00:12:46] And I know that Kamu, like you said, doesn't want to act like upset or stressed or whatever. But like, that's the more fun reaction. It's the same pet peeve when people get voted out and they're like, yeah, I saw it coming. I knew this was happening. It's like, shut up. Just say, didn't see that one coming. Come on. Do you think part of it has to do with the fact, because I think about this when they, you know, someone says, everybody, it's time for the veto. And then everyone's like popping off like they care like that.

[00:13:15] Because what was the thing Devin said this that really stuck out to me? I don't remember what it was, but it felt like a canned line. It was very sarcastic, but they kept it in. I think because they're constantly told they have to like be animated. They're just, it's almost like second nature to them. That and they're probably bored, y'all. Like anything is exciting. Yes, finally. Something's happening. We love it so much. Okay.

[00:13:42] So we'll see the fallout from what happened with this in tomorrow night's episode. But I guess let's talk a little bit about how we ultimately got there. And Rick is going to, I thought that this was actually a pretty cool moment in the show. And I can't remember another time that we had something like this where Devin has the extended cam talk where he's really talking through his thoughts.

[00:14:10] In the diary room, we certainly have had people talk to us at home. But this was an instance where we had Rick talking, I guess, out loud, maybe to everybody at home. But I thought it served as a really great confessional for us to get inside Rick's head. What did you think, Mary? Yeah, I liked this too. I actually thought that this part was pretty dramatic.

[00:14:39] I don't know. It felt very like a movie, like scripted, like, oh, things are going bad. But what if I, should I just blow things up? What if we combine this group and this group?

[00:14:52] And it's pretty interesting because, you know, the idea here of using the Diamond Power Vito and forming this new alliance, which Devin talks about as the crossovers plus the two girls, Mallory and Melody, as the obvious tie-ins. Other people will think of it like it's FAP plus the icons.

[00:15:21] I'm not going to say it. Okay. As an alliance, go for it, Pooja. You can, yeah. But I, yeah, I think it's, I just think that his kind of dramatic way of doing this was really fun. This season, we've had a lot of fun versions of cam talks. This one plus Melody talking on the phone to her mom is fun. And so, yeah, I like that they included all of this.

[00:15:49] And, yeah, I like the way that we transition from this both into the conversations about the Diamond Power Vito and the new alliance that gets formed as well. Yeah. Rick, I think, is, you know, they always talk about him as a showman. But I think in the diary room, a lot of times it can come off as canned.

[00:16:09] And so I thought that this was like a really authentic way of us getting his thoughts that came across in a more organic and natural way than a lot of like what he tells us in the diary room. Yeah. I think that it's one of those things probably, right, where when you're in that room, you know exactly where the camera is. It's in your face. You know what you're in there to do. I believe you have a prompt. I believe you have something to say.

[00:16:36] But I think once you're in that house long enough, you forget that your ambiance has cameras. You know, ultimately, because a lot of them still do talk to the cameras like they're talking to someone directly. But I think it becomes a lot more normal to them. Yeah. It's also something about this conversation and not to try and sound like a huge Devin stan, but I am. So I'll admit it. I feel like Devin's is a really great example of any and also Angela.

[00:17:06] Let's throw her in there, too, of why we need to do even just slightly more diversity and age and casting. Because when you have one person in the house who's in their 40s or 50s or 60s, it's always like, oh, they're the token older person, the end. And if you put more of them in, we actually can see like, hey, there's gameplay there, too. There's excitement. There's fun.

[00:17:32] And I know that Angela and Devin's are both reality TV icons. But like they got that way at the same age on other shows. So it's fine. And it's just just showing a difference in even just the way that he thinks and talks. And it's not always going to be like super strategic necessarily. But like, let's just let's just see some variety here instead of it all just being the youngins. Yeah. So next year.

[00:17:59] 15 people, 40 to 60 years old, one 22 year old. Let's flip it. Golden Big Brother. Golden Big Brother. That'd be great. OK, so should we talk through whether or not Rick should use the diamond power of Vito here? Because I don't think it's necessarily the cleanest cut decision.

[00:18:24] My personal thought on it is ultimately like it's kind of like not unlike the 50-50 coin that he threw up, but only a couple of months ago for us. But it's not a slam dunk. This wasn't a sure thing to that. The diamond power of Vito is going to work. And there's still a non-zero chance. You know, Kamu could win the blockbuster tomorrow.

[00:18:48] And Rick Devins could ultimately be in a real predicament by, you know, in 25 hours. So what do we think? Was this was this a no-brainer decision? Go ahead, Mary. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I think that the reality of it is with the votes where they are in the House,

[00:19:13] it's pretty much a guarantee that Haley or Kamu is going. And so that's something like that's it. That's not nothing. Even if Kamu doesn't go, I think it's really, really important that every possible it's really, really important for people who do not want to be steamrolled by the two people, Yash and Kamu, who are most likely to win competitions, that if they want pretty much

[00:19:43] any chance at power, they need to get Kamu and Yash out. Now, nothing is a guarantee. Kamu and Yash could could lose the next several and other people could take them out. But we've seen the pattern before many, many times where it literally only takes two people to trade off or to win all of the vetoes or whatever. At this point, like you just mentioned, like Kamu has a great opportunity to win the block roster here. And so even that fact, it's like you kind of just have to take every opportunity to get

[00:20:12] them out because even saying like, oh, he was in a good spot with them. Why didn't he just align with them? Yeah, that's a great way to get third, fourth, fifth, sixth place. But it's going to be really difficult to get into the end, especially when Kamu and Yash are going to take each other to the end. So I kind of just feel like you have to try at this point. Plus, I mean, regardless, took D off. So that was, you know, yeah. Like even half of the power is great.

[00:20:37] Yeah, I think that I think there's a couple of ways to look at it, because I think if you're Evans and you have good relationships with quite a few people, I've seen the argument of why wouldn't he just keep it for himself for next week or the week after when he needs it or if he needs it. I think we've seen a lot of powers flop on Big Brother because the person who has them ultimately doesn't need them because they win everything. They win the. So he could his side, his only like he has only been in trouble. Like Icaz have only been in trouble once this season, this week, and he's used it the first

[00:21:07] chance he got. I think that's not a bad idea, especially when your closest ally is the one on the block and D could be a very tempting target to shift to later. I think the other one that we definitely do need to talk about that Mary brings up is the competitions of it all. You know, as much as a lot of us watch the show for everything else but the comps, the comps do play a big role and these two as a duo are dangerous for these competitions.

[00:21:32] If you do not take your chance at one of them early on, you might end up regretting that Kamu could easily win the next competition and at that point you're behind and you're just going to stay behind. So I understand that Kamu could win the blockbuster, win the next HH, put him up, he goes home next week. That could easily happen. But I think Rick Devins also does not care. He would rather go for gold and then in the event that he doesn't get gold, he can still have iconic moments to look back on.

[00:22:02] A memory, a highlight reel to look back on and that's what he did here. Yeah, I think he kind of gets painted into a corner by the, ultimately I think the decision comes down to like, hey, I'm Rick Devins. I have to do Rick Devins things. So he sort of like, I think doesn't have a choice to not use the power when he has the chance to, especially when his thing is like, hey, when I have a number one, I'll do anything to save my ally. So he sort of has that narrative that's sort of built in.

[00:22:32] And so he, like, I don't know how he could not use it. So I think that the thing is also that Kamu is the person that they're going to go for. And if you can take out Kamu here, you may not get another chance to take him out at any other point in the game if you don't do it here. So ultimately, I think it just comes down as like, I get why the hell not?

[00:23:02] It does. He also, can I read this quote that he said like right before he played this? He has another cam talk that wasn't in the episode when he's on the hammock and he's talking to me a lot about like, yes, I'm going to blow up my spot probably. He definitely does also think that this is like a power move to solidify the alliance, which he thinks is also important kind of regardless of if Kamu goes. But he says, he says, I might be putting too much faith in those people, but I feel like

[00:23:31] you can't play this game scared, Rob said. And I would hate to be sitting here saying, oh, I don't have blood on my hands. People like me. I'm playing under the radar. And then boom, still go out next week. That might happen. And that might be someone that I'm sitting up against and I win the veto or the blockbuster. And then I would be gone every time that I've had power in this game. I've decided to use it and I'm going to continue to do so basically. So and Mary, I did think that it was interesting what he said.

[00:23:58] And I don't know how much of it was for show and how much of it he really felt that. But he felt like the, you know, the survivor fans gave me the chance to win power. I got power and now I'm not going to use it, especially when I can keep one of the other survivor people on the show. So I think that he felt that he had like a, he owed it to the people that voted for him. Yeah. Also that.

[00:24:25] And, and I mean, there is something to like, what is that quote that people say? It's like, but when you, when you're playing survivor for the first time or any, you know, game for the first time, really like act like it's your second time playing and that you're, you know, playing all out. And for people like Devin's like, this is already his third time playing a game. So yeah. Why not go all out? And like, I think there's something to that. I kind of wish everyone in the house would play that way more. We've seen in big brother in particular, more of a problem of like just sitting there, just

[00:24:54] wanting to get to jury, just hanging back or whatever. And I'm glad to see that it really doesn't seem like many people this season have that attitude. Even the people who are playing a little more under the radar are still playing. And it's simply a lack of winning challenges and power. That's disallowing them from doing much. So like, yeah, for Devin's, if you have power, use it. It's fun. And maybe he should have worked, workshopped his actual speech a little bit more when he played. I think you workshopped it too much. I think maybe that's what it was. Yeah.

[00:25:22] But the beginning was good. I did like it. But anyway. Yeah, you set it up nice. I think ultimately we can all agree that you want a player like Devin's who is unapologetically themselves, very willing to put their game on, like risk everything to go home, but to win, like have fun with it, be entertaining. I will take this every day over Haley, who has been on the block two weeks in a row and is basically being like, you can just get rid of me. Like, I don't need that.

[00:25:52] Yeah. It's no fun to like take your ball and go home. Like that's, you know, when you're on the bottom, there was a Chuck joke in there somewhere. We skipped it. We skipped it. It's fine. But there's, there's a, there's something where you're on the bottom and like, that's when I want to see you get scrappy. And she's just not really doing it. To be fair though, that might cause more people to, it might work for her this week if people

[00:26:21] are like, oh, well, it doesn't matter. She's not trying that hard. So let's just keep her around. She laid down and died. On that note, I do want to talk about Dee also, who I thought had some interesting confessionals in this episode where we saw her in the diary room. She was crying. In the Sunday night episode, I saw her walk out of the room after the BB bribe. I don't know if these two things were back to back. I was like, oh, and here's Dee fake crying. But we saw her in the diary room. She did seem really upset. She was crying.

[00:26:50] Barrett was trying to comfort her. Was that right before Barrett then gave her the kiss on the cheek? That's the kiss on the cheek that rocked the internet that night. Editors did Barrett a big one tonight and they cut it off before we got to that. But yeah, Dee seemed very upset. And Mary, she said that she regretted that she threw the challenge and we saw that. Yeah. And she feels like that she really needs to pick it up.

[00:27:22] Look, this was not a great week for Dee up until she got saved. And even then, it's still not great. But it was like a wake-up call, which is good. Sometimes people don't get a chance to have the wake-up call until they're walking out the door on a double eviction night and they never saw it coming. So I do think that this will hopefully have taught Dee and Devens. Come on. TV show is really editing and like, sorry, Devens. And I'm going to speak bad about him. Sorry. Okay.

[00:27:52] Stop with all of this. Dee, you're so bad at challenges. You threw the HOH and then you lost the V. Devens, you also threw the HOH. Shut up. Be quiet. You too. No. You should not. We'll talk about Otev. We do. We will come back to Dee in the challenge when we talk about Otev. But. Stop. Stop throwing challenges. Y'all need to not. Put Mary. Okay. So Dee has told us, okay, she's going to turn it around.

[00:28:16] But have you seen her turn it around since she has said she needs to turn it around? Not just in the comps. I mean, not really. Okay. It would be nice if she did. I mean, I think that she at least is not feeling just like as safe as she was.

[00:28:45] But it's also, it is, this is the danger where people can over correct, which is the like getting mad and realizing that you weren't safe. And then sort of correcting to like, oh, it doesn't even matter. We're just here for fun. I don't want that. I only, I want the, I want it to light a fire under you. Yeah. You know? Okay.

[00:29:07] Well, part of Rick's plan was to bring together the people from the, what was it? It's not the, it's not the crossover. Crossovers? Is that right? Yeah. Crossovers. The crossovers. Crossovers is the icons plus Drew and Barrett. Yes. I was trying not to say with the BB26 alliance. Okay. So we have the crossovers, which we really haven't talked about too much lately. And then also the Frap. We're going to bring it all together.

[00:29:37] And we have a merging of the alliances. And then ultimately Rick is very excited because now this seven can come together. And really we get everybody in one room and then we just instantly go to, what's the name of this? It's, it's the, the mosh pit. Mosh pit. Yeah. It's not, it's not a bad name. Yeah. I think everybody's in agreement. Like this was a good alliance name. Yeah. Rob, have you ever been in a mosh pit?

[00:30:07] Have you ever mosh pitted? I have not, sadly. I know Taron said that he loves a good mosh pit. I do not want to mosh. I don't want to be in any pit. I can't think, I don't want to be in a ball pit, an arm pit. You don't want to be in the pit? A, the Sarlacc pit. Brad pit. All bad. No pit that I want to be in. Isn't that the, the one with the medical show? That's a pit. Don't want to be in that one. That's also a pit. Yeah. Do I want to be in the hospital too? No. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:30:35] The, the, uh, look, it sounds like my absolute nightmare, um, being in a mosh pit. So I don't know what Taron's talking about. He's much cooler than I am. Um, so that's like what, it's like a bunch of people dancing real close together. I don't know if I describe moshing as dancing, but I don't know. It's like people are, it's been a minute. Um, but yeah, basically it's like a lot music. The ambiance is loud.

[00:31:02] The music is loud and everyone's just kind of like charging into the middle of the circle. Was it, was it, is it like similar to like what Angela was doing with Howie? Is that? I don't think they were moshing. I wouldn't go that far. Um, yeah. How many people in this alliance do you think have ever been in a mosh pit? I'm going to say zero. Really? Maybe Mallory. Oh, and she didn't want to name it that. Mm.

[00:31:31] I could see it. I think I could see Barrett getting involved in a mosh pit. You think so? Mm-hmm. I could see it. You tower over the mosh pit. You'd be easy to spot in the mosh pit. I'm going to avoid him. Yeah. I can see him coming. Yeah. It was a funny moment though, after they come together for the mosh pit and then here comes Kamu, like crash the party. Yeah. That was funny. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I love, I love that, um, that moment.

[00:32:01] Uh, it, it, it feel like it would be the very, very first thing I would do in the big brother house is just come up with every possible way to hide whatever conversation I was having when someone else walks in. Like, I feel like that's a skill you got to lock down quickly. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Uh, I see somebody in the chat called it, uh, Yash pit. Add that to the list of pits I don't want to be involved in. Okay? Please. In the Yash pit. I mean, you get Yash with like his headphones on, like doing his dancing.

[00:32:31] That's in the Yash pit. Okay. Oh my gosh. All right. We did get to see Rick go to Mallory and Melody. This was actually one of my favorite parts of the episode was when Rick Devins talked to Mallory about whether or not she wanted to, uh, get together and go after, uh, Kamu potentially. And, uh, I thought that she was, uh, she was, uh, really into it. Yeah.

[00:33:01] I do love the, um, the, Hey, we've been a loose seven. Mm-hmm. Let's become a tight seven. And to that, I say we can lie to ourselves, but as long as you're both buying it, and then both parties, both sides agree. Let's come together. I don't care whether or not we're lying to ourselves here. I'm very okay with that. Yeah.

[00:33:25] Um, and then we bring Melody in also to be part of the tight seven. And there you go. There's the mosh pit. I did like that Angela, I thought she had a good moment in this also where she said that we're going to take it to take out the head honchos. Why'd you like that? I like it because it's like, I don't know if she is actually believing this, but I think it's like a good line.

[00:33:52] It's like, yeah, we're like, we're the underdogs. We are coming together. We're taking out the people who are running this house. And, you know, it's like, yeah, up until like very recently you were running this house. Like they're like, it's, it is like a far cry to call. Like, you know, Yash, the head honcho. I, he, I know he is technically the head of household, but it is like a interesting, um, you know, flip of like how things have actually been.

[00:34:20] Look, Rob, if you're not in power for one week, I mean, come on, Haley was in power for three weeks and still was on the bottom somehow. So, uh, yeah, if you're not in power for one week, you, you get to take out the head honchos. Um, it is fun. Now, seriously though, um, I mean, this is, this is a little, a little tiny bit outside episode talk, but like none of them really felt like this was like a super real alignment.

[00:34:49] Like it's definitely like a one. What about Drew and Barrett? Well, so it definitely benefits Drew and Barrett the most, um, out of everyone. But, uh, yeah, weird that we didn't even really see like a whole lot of their conversing about this on the episode. Would have been great if we could have seen like a conversation between the two of them discussing how this was awesome for them and that, uh, and where they actually stood, like whose side they really mean on this. Yeah. Drew definitely said that, uh, he was so happy that this was coming together,

[00:35:19] but what was Drew saying on the feeds? I mean, he was happy about it too, but it's like, Drew and Barrett are in a, uh, a decent spot in terms of their relationships, but they still don't do the best when it comes to sharing information from their two, like, so from the FAP Alliance and the Crossover Alliance,

[00:35:44] like every time they share information, especially Drew back and forth, it, uh, makes each of those two groups dislike the other. So they, they're not the best at like bringing this Alliance really together in a way that they should to benefit them. So I think they're, they're into it in the same way that they'd be into like any Alliance happening and it makes it easier for them to not have to feel like they're against the two.

[00:36:08] But, uh, yeah, it would just be great if they could like, kind of work on like cohesion a little bit more. We got a little bit of a tease about Angela's birthday. She mentioned it, but we really did not celebrate Angela's birthday very much. I gotta imagine that's going to be in this, uh, on tomorrow night's episode. Like there's no way we're just going to pass from the Angela birthday. That's going to come up.

[00:36:32] I think that maybe we might just get, Julie is going to wish Angela a happy birthday when she talks to the house guests. It's possible. I feel we could see a little bit of it. There might be, it might be enough there, but I mean, ultimately if there was a lot of fallout coming out of this veto ceremony for sure, it would have been highlighted because we have had iconic birthdays mentioned on the show before up. Yeah. She's birthday. We've had rock stars, daughter's birthday.

[00:37:00] This would have been Angela's birthday, but we didn't get that. We didn't get it yet, but we'll see if we get it into the Thursday show. Okay. Let's talk about Otev. And we had Otev, uh, the B movie blob. Mary, where did this Otev rank for you? Bottom half probably. I mean, there, there's a lot of issues I had with it.

[00:37:26] Um, it didn't love the like voice, um, sort of doing like a knockoff Gilbert Gottfried kind of thing. Um, also confused why it was pink, but the slime was green. You feel like it should have matched. Yeah. It could have had them be the same color. Uh, I mean, there's always slime, but like, I think the problem I had was it felt a little

[00:37:50] lazy because the slime is normally like, Oh, it, the lobster is sick or whatever. Like there's like a, but this one was just like, it's just slime because your movie sucks. What are we doing? I believe that the B movie blob, Mary, at one point said he was allergic to bad performances and then sneezed and then they got the second time. Yeah. The second time, second round, that was it. Yeah.

[00:38:20] Grimace looks a little worse for wear, uh, because I could not unsee Grimace the entire time. The entire time. This was Grimace to me. Yeah. I love Grimace. We love Grimace. Yeah. Mm-hmm. So, yeah, the B movie blob, I was not my favorite Otev. No, I, there was some problems. I have a favorite one. Mm-hmm. Yeah. There, I think the, was it a, the roll was a good one.

[00:38:48] I was going to say, wasn't there like a rock and roll roll? Yeah, that was, I think that's my favorite recent one that I can think of. I don't think that's recent. It might be like BB-17 or something like that. 17 or 18, yeah. Which one was the, the, the, the, the, the Dope Frog? That was a good one. Yeah, that was also like, yeah, that was like in that same era, like BB-17, BB-18. Mm-hmm. Yeah. That was the golden era of it. Mm-hmm. Yeah. I remember I did one, Pouya, and you and Liana were on with me.

[00:39:16] And it was like, I feel like it was some kind of like squid or octopus. I feel like that, I feel like we had a lot of fun that night with that one. Yeah, I just don't think this was super memorable. No. I don't think 10 years from now we'll be like, remember the B-movie blob? It's also mouthy. Like, it's a lot of words, the B-movie blob. I don't love it.

[00:39:42] It took like two turns for me to realize, oh, we mean it's like a, like an A movie, there's a B movie. It's like a second tier. The jacked jellyfish. Oh, that was because it was the Arnold. Yeah. There was that. I remember exactly where we were. Yeah. Yeah. This B-movie blob was fine. Um, so a couple of interesting things from Otev.

[00:40:05] Uh, we had some good falls from Angela sliding down and going under like shades of Sheriff Kathy, uh, going through onto the tunnel. Yeah. Um, I did see that. Was the, was the tunnel necessary? Yeah. I, did anybody else have to travel through the tunnel? It seemed like just Angela. And I don't, I didn't see one other person traversing underneath the tunnel.

[00:40:32] I don't know if we just didn't see it or if they just really, or if Angela was really milking that moment. But, um, yeah, that one, that one was fun. Mm-hmm. I think there's a lot of things I watch and see, and I'm like, I could do that and I could do it well, and then I'll get humbled. So what I'm about to say would be very much like that. I felt like a lot of people didn't have enough urgency going up that slope. It was a little slow. Um, where's the urgency? Yeah. Yeah.

[00:41:01] This one was definitely, um, I don't remember what season it was where like four people went out on the first round or something like that. That wasn't too long ago. Well, BB26, everyone went out the first round except for McKenzie. Yeah. Um, so it wasn't quite that bad, but yeah, there wasn't a whole lot of hustle and, uh, surprisingly more wrong answers considering I felt like these were pretty easy questions. Yeah. Overall.

[00:41:28] Well, Pooey, I wanted to ask you, uh, who do you think could get up the ramp faster? You or birthday boy Mike Bloom? Um, let's see. Um, yeah, this isn't, yeah, this is a slope. There's no fishing. I think he has my number. I think he beats me. Okay. I think so. I don't know. I think happy birthday, Mike Bloom. Happy birthday, Mike Bloom. Yeah. Um, I don't know. I think I couldn't. Hmm.

[00:41:57] Are we, are we just starting at the base or are we running from a place to the base? I think he's just starting at the base. Oh, then I, it's anybody's game at that point. It's anybody's game. It's slippery. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Then I was surprised, but I didn't know this was going to happen in the veto of that they asked the question of who was the first person to go out in a odd number of votes.

[00:42:21] And then, yeah, we saw not one, but two people had the wrong answer. Yeah. That doesn't usually happen. Um, uh, two people had the wrong answer. They both guessed Rome. How many votes did Rome have? Uh, he famously, he had 12 and then, and then Lyric was, or I'm sorry that it was Taylor was the one vote to keep him, but it was 12 to one. Yeah. And the answer was. It's cook time.

[00:42:53] I don't know if anyone else noticed this and maybe I miss noticed, but it really looked like D had a little stack that she had hidden on like in the dry bit, like in between the two puddles of, of slime. And I'm just bummed for her that she got it wrong. Cause I do think she had a solid hiding spot for things. Um, it's been a pan out. Yeah. We'll have to ask Brandon Donlan if he told her to make a stack of the answers for Otev,

[00:43:23] but you gotta have the right answer. Barrett had an interesting moment also in this where he ended up, he had Chuck and he dropped it down the waterfall and then lost it in the lake. Oh my God. Yeah. That, that was a dramatic moment. Um, or it would be except the fact that we already knew that at least Haley was going for the wrong answer. Yeah. That didn't help. Yeah. Maybe, maybe edit that.

[00:43:52] We went to a commercial on that, Mary. That was the cliffhanger. That was like amazing race style of like, oh no, we're lost. Like, oh, there it is. Oh yeah. Yeah. Very much. Except like I said, you showed that first and then show Haley having the wrong answer. Hmm. Yeah. Um, anyway, but yeah, that, that was a, uh, um, an interesting thing. And then of course the other like strategy moment that you were probably going to bring up next was the, the, uh, you need two names.

[00:44:21] They needed Jason and Ashley and, um, Yash just started collecting all of the, the, I don't know if it was Jason. Ashley. Yeah. So we had them all. That was sick. Um, that was great. Emerging gameplay from Yash. Emerging gameplay. Probably won't see that again. Cause there'll probably be some new rules or something about not being able to like hoard. Hold multiple. Hold them. Hold them. Hold them in your hand at any time. Yeah. I don't know. Uh, cause I mean, by the time he went up the ramp, it's not like he was holding all of them. Right. Or did he like toss them? Yeah.

[00:44:51] Dumped it and then went to grab the rope to go up. Yeah. Yeah. So it's interesting. I was thinking, cause he said like, okay, well, I know that Barrett is also looking for this, uh, photo of Ashley. I kind of thought that he would just like throw it to the other side of the yard. Like good luck finding it now, Barrett. But I think those are really interesting that he carried it around. I wonder if Barrett could go and like wrestle it from him. Yeah.

[00:45:20] Should Barrett have just stuck around behind him waiting for him to drop it and then grab that and like try and beat him on the foot race? He should have ripped it out of his hand. Yeah. And I, and I mean, I feel like with all of this stuff, it's like, it's not unfair until it's in the rules that you can't do it. So, I mean, this was, this was good. Yeah. I think good gameplay for him to think of it. I mean, he should have, he should have learned that you just have to drop it in the water at the bottom of the thing and Barrett won't be able to find it for a little while.

[00:45:46] Pooja, is there anything to it in Otev where that you're going through it and it's like, boy, I really, like, I've only seen one of this person the whole way through. Like, does, does that occur to the players or is it really like there really are a bunch of Ashley's and there's like as many of, of everybody. And it's like, well, because the analogy I was going to make is like, like when you play

[00:46:11] like Monopoly McDonald's and it's like, when it's not fixed, it's like, okay, there's only one out there. Yeah. I think that clearly given the DRs, there's a few of them that just memorize where people were. They were like, I know exactly where this one Lala is. I'm going to go there. So I do think there's a limited number of them. There's gotta be. Cause if there was an equal amount of them, these rounds would not take as long at the end as they did this.

[00:46:39] And obviously it's edited and everything, but that last round did look like it went long. So cause Yash was very quick otherwise. And like he was getting winded. So I do think that there's probably less of them, which maybe that's the move. If you're not going to make a big, big pile, at least make note of like, who did I barely see? And then go back and grab that card and put it somewhere. Yeah. Yeah. I feel like in the past and tell me if I'm wrong about this, that the OTAV answers were all people that were already eliminated.

[00:47:10] More often than not, I feel like that's what it is. Yeah. Um, it's usually a mix of the people who are already not in the game. Yeah. Although Lala was an answer for one of these. Lala and Devon were both answers. Yeah. So. Yeah. Which I've always wondered, uh, cause they haven't ever explicitly shown on the show. Like I assume the people on the bench are not allowed to help and be like, Hey, I'm the answer to that. That's me. Yeah. That makes sense. Why that would be the case. Yeah.

[00:47:36] And so Yash ends up winning the power of veto after winning the HOH. And he's pumped up. Yeah. I would be too. Winning OTAV is huge. Winning back-to-back comps is massive as well. You got to be feeling on top of the world. He was literally one comp loss away from being the first boot of the season. So that all worked out. We're not out the woods yet though. I want to talk about this weird OTAV. Um, because what do you mean the slime was hot?

[00:48:07] What do you mean it was hot? Because they made a comment that why is it hot? Yeah. Um, I didn't like that. Why is this? Why is the slime warm? Yeah. Why? Why is that? So nasty! I would guess, um, it's Los Angeles in August and the slime is sitting in some sort of a trough for probably a metal trough for hours on end. I don't think it was by design to be hot.

[00:48:36] I think it was just the nature of like the middle of the day in the hot Los Angeles sun. Yeah, definitely that because my guess is the, uh, the slime slash water slash goop that Angela was crawling through because that's got like jets in it moving it around that it's, uh, cooling it down a little. Um, just, yeah, just what I need on a hot summer day is hot goo.

[00:49:04] Also, also grimace. Okay. Evil grimace was saying, said something very suspect in the last round right before the goo on Yash and bear for the last round, I believe said open wide, which I was like, grimace. No, no. Yeah. We're not doing that. Mary, you heard that too though, right? I wasn't. I did. I tried to block it out. Thank you. Wild. What are we doing? Yeah.

[00:49:33] Um, I feel like also if you're going to say something like that, they need to be told ahead of time, like that this is, uh, potable. Um, cause that's, that's not okay. Is it a kid show or is it not? Make up your mind. Yeah. Is this Paw Patrol or is this like after dark? Like let's make up our minds. We can't do both. Paw Patrol, Otev would have been pretty fun. That would have, that would have been great. Yeah. Brought in.

[00:50:02] Um, yeah. I don't know if it would have been one of the pops or one of the bad guys from Paw Patrol, but that would have been the synergy we needed. What was one of them called rhubarb? Get rhubarb on the corn. Rhubarb is a new one. Yeah. Could have been the dino. Yeah. Paw Patrol. Okay. Um, so I, I wanted to, uh, ask if you also thought that the low budget movie or the B

[00:50:28] movie blob, it was this a nod to Angela who brought the low budget movie to the big brother house. See, this is like where I think the missed opportunity of do this on a season that Angela is not on, have Angela be the Otev. Like that would work. You know, like be a, voiced by Angela at some sort of cartoon version of Angela. What if Matt Hardman was Otev? Pretty fun. What would he be?

[00:50:54] He'd have like, uh, you know, that they could talk about like, I mean, he was like, what, what was it called when Joseph was in the room with him? Like he was already like a punishment. Oh. The Matrix. The Matrix. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh my God. Wow. And he was good on that. They should do more of that kind of thing. Yeah. That was the night that Joseph started the FAP Alliance, right?

[00:51:27] Stop. No, we lost. No, we lost. I think I was on that recap also. Oh my God. I'm collecting these, these wild recaps, like infinity stones. And again, I ask, is this a children's show or not? Like what are they doing? And, and, and to be clear, I do not think it is or should be a children's show, but like. No. Just odd.

[00:51:58] All right. All right. Let's talk about, uh, we had a, uh, a lot of Drew tonight. We really saw things from the Drew perspective. We saw a Melody and Drew segment of, for all the shippers out there. Mary, would you read any Melody and Drew fan fiction? I don't like RPF generally. Um, real person fiction for those who don't know. Thank you.

[00:52:27] Thank you so much. I thought Haley had RPF. She's got something else. Um, but, uh, yeah, it's, it's, uh, people, someone could write something fun. I feel like, uh, only if, only if Melody is the, the Lord of the Latrine in it. I think that's something there. Also. Sorry. Sorry. We'll come back to Drew in just a second.

[00:52:52] Um, I, I, I like my Lord of the Latrines to do a little more like punny jokes kind of stuff. Why is she just yelling? It's just, just yelling. I don't think she liked being Lord of the Latrine. I, I, we, we can go there and talk about Melody, um, versus Derek X. It's not fair because Derek X did such a good job. And I think that Melody really did not like being the Lord, the lady of the Latrine.

[00:53:22] I mean, I wouldn't either. Uh, but I do think in the, would you rather, I would pick being the Lord or lady of the Latrine versus being the person who has to go to another person and be like, Hey, can you let everyone here know that I really need to go to the bathroom after dinner? Like I would, I will melt into the ground if people perceive me that. Yeah. I would hate that. From the feeds, uh, if Melody needs to use the bathroom. Okay. Yeah.

[00:53:50] Um, who does she need to announce herself? Um, I, you know, I don't remember seeing this on the feeds or not. She got the key. I don't, I think she's, I think it's kind of a reward. It's like, it's like you have the key. I mean, this, this isn't like super fun of an answer, but like, it's a, it's a soft, warm costume with a fun little hat. You know, you're going to have a segment gives you a thing to do. I feel like being bored in the big brother house would be so annoying.

[00:54:19] And also I feel like there's a way of playing this where it's like, yeah, time to like one on one chat with everybody while they're doing their ones on twos. The ones and twos. Right. So who did the one and a half? She announced, I think Devin's did a one and a half. Yeah. Big Rick Devin's night. Yeah. So is she probably liked, did she like being Eve and Eve better? You get to hang out with a, with your friend.

[00:54:48] You're also like the plus one on that. I think that's better than again, like you're getting pulled, like you're in the middle of a conversation and someone's like, come on, you already know what time it is. It's my bathroom time. And you got to let everyone know, I don't want to be part of your bathroom time. What are the rules for the HOH bathroom? You're not allowed to use it. Well, everyone else is not allowed to use it. Only the HOH? Everyone else can't use the HOH bathroom as a way of getting out of having to go talk

[00:55:17] to Melody and have them, her unlock the room. So I think it's just, yeah, she's allowed to use it. I think the really, the worst part of this is that she, you have to go wake her up in the middle of the night. Yeah. And I think that's why she, didn't she decide to sleep in the costume just so she wouldn't have to keep putting it back on? Oh yeah. I imagine that you just put the costume like 12 times during the night. So yeah, that, that part was rough and probably rough for everybody when she has to yell and scream and blow the horn all night. She doesn't have to yell.

[00:55:45] Like, I don't know why we're yelling. They kept making her yell. I don't know. I think they gave us the yelly ones. I think there were more than that. But they did, they did focus on the yelly ones, which I think the yelly ones are extra fun because everyone has to hear it. Like I like, if it's my punishment now, now it's our punishment. Cause now I'm gonna let everyone know. If everyone's upstairs, downstairs, like doesn't matter. They're gonna know you need to go pee. And now they know.

[00:56:15] And now you have to deal with that. Yeah. Okay. So Melody and Drew, they're together. Drew said this line tonight. And he said, they call me a Drew Barry because I leave them wanting more. Yeah. I mean, I thought that was actually pretty good. Yeah. Am I missing the reference? Drew Barrymore. That's it. That's the joke. Yeah.

[00:56:46] He's 22. What is this? I mean, if his last name was Barry, it would make more sense. Or if there was like anything there. Mm-hmm. I had to say it like five times. Like, well, why do they, wait, wait, why do they call him Drew Barry? And then it's like, oh. Drew. I'm with Angela. We can't trust him.

[00:57:11] But so if you see Drew and D, and Drew tells D that, hey, you know, I'm not, I'm not switching teams. I'm going with the flow and he wants to rebuild trust with D. Kamu thinks he's slick. And so he's working on D. Yeah. And then, but we see him, but we see him up with Kamu and Yash also. Working on those guys.

[00:57:41] Yeah. He is. You know what's funny? Wasn't Drew's problem the first couple of, like, weeks three and four that they needed less of Drew? Mm-hmm. Instead, he was spreading himself way too over. So, irony's not lost on me. You needed to do less, not more, my friend. Look. That was the problem. Here's the thing about Drew. He never really got the danger that he was in and the why of it all.

[00:58:11] Like, this man was told that he was a pawn for his alliance. Kind of accepted it, went on the block, and then, and then that was kind of it. And then got off. Like, he, you know, Angela came after him hard for weeks, and he didn't even know that. He still doesn't know that. He thinks he's always had a great relationship with Angela. So, he doesn't really know the things that he's done that have caused issues. So, he's going to continue to just. Yeah.

[00:58:41] You know, we talked about D having a wake-up call and knowing that she was in danger. I would like for Drew to have a situation where he's on the block. He's worried. He's having a wake-up call. He's having to actually, like, play from, like, with a little fire under his butt. I think that that would be, like, fun to watch. I think I would say that about every single person in this house.

[00:59:06] Like, the times when Mallory and Melody have been most fun have been when they know that their back's against the wall. And so, they're, you know. Yeah. Doing stuff. Doing stuff. So, that would be great. I'd love to see that from Barrett, too. Because. Go on, boy. Give us nothing. Yeah. So, there's been a lot of that. But. And it's like, I feel like. I was going to say Angela, maybe. But she.

[00:59:35] She knows she's in danger. But she's also. No, she's great. Spent her whole. She spent her whole season being in this position. So, she knows how to handle it. A cinematic moment with Angela at the start of the episode where she's back on the block. She can't help it. She's just going to cry in here. She had, like, the very dramatic moment in the diary room with, like, the swelling music. Yeah. Yeah. This is Angela's first time on the block.

[01:00:02] Historically, we know that this is unique because in her season, once her HOH reign was over, Angela was very famously familiar and integrated with that block for many weeks to come. So, I can't imagine this felt good for her. But I'm happy we got those emotions on the episode. Great episode for the couch in the DR, by the way. Because there was also a moment where Yash was slumped on that thing. That was great. Yeah. The couch got a lot of airtime also.

[01:00:31] The couch got more airtime than Taylor did tonight. Can we talk about that? Yeah. We can talk about that. Taylor had an offer tonight. Yeah. Yeah. Poor Taylor. And, like, I mean, this cannot be good for her chances of getting that last time capsule also. The penultimate episode before the eviction to get, like, basically no content. Yeah. It would seem unlikely that she is going to be the recipient unless there's a real concerted effort for her to get it. At this point.

[01:00:58] But, Mary, who do you think ended up being the person who, just from the TV show, became most likely to get the time capsule on Friday? Ooh. Just from the TV show. Probably Drew. Drew had a lot of content. I think so. Yeah. I mean, I don't have a great pulse on what the general TV audience feels about Yash or Kamu.

[01:01:29] Yeah. If there are a lot of Yash or Kamu fans out there, they got some. Yeah. I think especially if Kamu wins the blockbuster, I do think it'll be Kamu on Friday. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, they did make sure to show us the rejected handshake. Like, um, and I feel like there's going to be a lot of people who are going to be very honor, integrity upset tonight. Mm-hmm. About the fact that you're being a bad sport.

[01:01:58] He's on the block. Shake his hand. What are we doing here? So, I do think that garners him some also probably. Yeah. We also tend, like, if there's anyone who feels like, oh, it's not fair that the diamond power veto got used against Yash's HOH. He should have the power. Like, you know, there's that.

[01:02:16] Uh, one other running joke from tonight was that there was a point where Kamu talked about all the alliances and he talked about, uh, that red corner, dead, tool shed, dead, the wolf pack, dead. Uh, a couple other times they did that when they put the alliance on the constraint, dead. Put the dead stamp on it. Yep. I did like that. I think that was good. That was, not only was that good, accurate.

[01:02:44] Like, I've had to update my alliance document way more frequently this season than normal. Mary, tell us about your alliance document. It's, it's not that impressive. It's just a spreadsheet where I try to keep track of, like, who's in loose alliances. And I, I kind of, I started this week. I kind of gave up because I've still got like, let me, let me go see what some of the ones I have on here. We've got like, you know, uh, oh, this one. And then if they don't have a name, I give them a name. So this one was just called the buff bros. That was before they called themselves.

[01:03:14] I don't know. Did Chuck Kamu and Haley have an alliance name? I don't remember if they did. Um, but. Who? Chuck Kamu and Haley did like the three of them. Well, the red corner. Oh, I thought they were original. Yeah. I thought they were red corner. The red corner includes Dee and Devin. So yeah, I'm not a hundred percent sure. Uh, but anyway, but let's see. Uh, we've got, you know, like, like mama's angels, the court gestures. Like, remember these? Dead, dead, dead, dead.

[01:03:42] How many alliances are we up to on the season, Mary? Oh, geez. Let's see. One, two, three, four. I think there have probably been no joke, at least 20 that have happened. Some of those are just pairs or threesomes. And I would say at least 14 of those are dead, like gone. Like most of the people are. Dead, dead, dead. Because also like anything that Lyric was in, right? Dead. Right.

[01:04:10] So, you know, there's just been, it just feels like it's been a lot more fluid this season. In terms of groups getting together. Yeah. Um. Okay. All right. We'll see. Anything else from the episode before we talk about the latest from inside the house? I did like that we had one Haley DR after the nominations that happened to start the episode off. And even there, Haley was like, I'm bubbly. I'll be fine.

[01:04:38] I'm just, you know, next week I'll win HOH or I'll get the power. Yeah. And all will be great. Yeah. We're. What'd you say? She's like a sunflower that's looking to the sun in the east? Yeah. Maybe the ultimate blind side for me. I don't really know what she was talking about there. Yeah. I wasn't, I was like, is this like a wicked reference? Like, what are we talking about? I don't know. Okay. All right. So with that, let's talk about what's going to happen tomorrow.

[01:05:08] Let's talk about the live feeds. The office of civil defense has issued the following message. This is a spoiler. Warning. A spoiler. Warning. It means that an actual. Not much. Yes, this country has been detected and that protective action should be taken. All right. I still don't get it. Are they supposed to be fun? Why do people like mosh pits? I think that they, I think it's like you go there and like, can like push people around. I think. Okay. It's like fight club. I guess so.

[01:05:39] Not quite. Like, it's, it's like a thing where everyone understands. Hey, listen, we're going to be a little bit aggressive here with shoving, but, but it's nothing but love. Like no one's going to get like, no one's getting beat up in the mosh pit. That doesn't happen. Also, do not wear glasses into the mosh pit. Don't wear glasses. I'm a friend who broke glasses 10 seconds into a mosh pit. You do not have to worry about me. This virtual mosh pits as close as I'm getting. Okay. All right.

[01:06:05] So Mary, what's the vote looking like right now? Well, so it's interesting because, uh, as of diamond power veto getting used and stuff right away, it was looking pretty promising for if, if he doesn't win the blockbuster Kamu going home. However, Kamu and more importantly, Yash has not stopped pushing to keep Kamu. Uh, there have been a lot of conversations in particular at this point because Yash and

[01:06:35] Kamu feel like they have, um, Taylor and Latrice pretty decently with them. Um, the, and then if Haley to win, were to win the blockbuster, they would feel like they have Haley. So right now they're really working on melody and Mallory. And, um, at first there was pretty, pretty effusive. Just like, no, no, we're good. We're going to get rid of Kamu. But Yash has not folded on this and he is still trying.

[01:07:04] And, uh, Devins and D have really kind of dropped the ball on like, they're like, ah, we'll get to it on Thursday. We'll make sure that everything's up. They're so busy on Thursday. They, yeah. So it would, uh, this is also why like the, the mosh pit thing. Six day weekend for D and Devins. If you go to work on Thursday, if you wanted to use the diamond power veto and like use this to make the Alliance firm, you gotta be doing more with them.

[01:07:33] So I think at this point, like we'll see past weeks, D and Devins have really turned it on on Thursday. So we'll see if that works for them again. Um, I would say at this point, it, I, I personally think at this point, I haven't seen like melody and Mallory really like jump all the way pro Kamu, but, um, Oh, I'd say it's still on the table. Yeah. The thing is on these Wednesdays, it's only like eight o'clock now.

[01:08:00] I kind of feel like that the real witching hour is going to be in about like three hours, four hours from now. And we'll see who's in their ear. Yeah. I think that, I think that the saving grace for the mosh pit and specifically the icons is that Kamu is not liked, um, by the new additions into this Alliance. Mallory literally had a DR this tonight on this episode talking about how she doesn't like Kamu.

[01:08:29] So I think that Kamu is still going to be the, is still going to get voted out, but I think their loyalties will end with the icons. If one of them wins power as in, I don't think Mallory or melody want to put up the, uh, Yash or Taylor next week. So that'll be very interesting. Yeah. Okay. And then if Kamu does win the blockbuster Haley is 100% going home. I believe so.

[01:08:57] Um, I believe so. Again, unless the icons really piss them off or they decide, you know what? No, let's strike while the iron's hot. Let's just do it right now. I think Haley still goes. I think ultimately you can't really like Haley. You can't rely on Haley. And I think the other thing is like, it's really, you had, in order to feel like they've done something, breaking up Haley and Kamu, even if they're not really still together is better.

[01:09:25] If D or Devins were in this position, this would be a lot more tough of a decision. But, um, Angela kind of, like we mentioned, like she knows how to be on the block. She's kind of, unless she does something wild tomorrow for some reason, paints a huge target on her back. I don't see that happening, but. Yeah. Right. I really campaigned last week for Haley to stay. And I think that that was certainly up against Chuck.

[01:09:52] The prospect of Chuck still being here and Haley being gone was just unfathomable to me. Uh, I do think that Haley may have done all she can do right now. And so I will not be as sad if we lose Haley this week. It was a pretty big blessing for Haley, honestly, to have Kamu go on the block because it made

[01:10:17] her likelihood of staying, assuming he doesn't win the blockbuster like a lot higher than it was before. Um, but yeah, it's tough because, you know, I think we were all picturing like, oh, Haley's going to come back with a vengeance and do all this stuff. She has to be in power. And yeah, she kind of got on the block and then has done nothing. Um, so, and, and like, it's hard, it's hard to be on the block and create alliances. Yeah. But like.

[01:10:43] I'll tell you though, it would be so fun if Kamu loses the blockbuster. Uh, or I guess what has that meant? I guess does for Haley to stay, I guess Kamu, Kamu, Haley wins the blockbuster. Kamu goes up in the vote. Kamu goes home, but Haley wins HOH. I do think, I think we would get what we want. Like, uh, we would get what we want out of entertainment from Haley. Yes. And I think, yeah, I think that, that would be good.

[01:11:11] We need, we need Haley to be in power so that she can then talk about how terrible last week was. She can talk about, yes. Here's all, here's how all of you wronged me the last two weeks. And I think it would be extensive. Everybody get out of my HOH room. And I think right now it really depends on like what you want the story of the season to be. I saw someone in the chat earlier say that like, it would be the most fun for Kamu to

[01:11:40] stay because that's the most interesting. I would say that depends on what you want. If you want a potential to beat Kamu and Yash steamrolling the rest of the game, which I know sounds a little bit like, well, don't you want the icons to steamroll the game? Personally? No, I would love Melody and Mallory to get some power and do something. I would love for them to steamroll the game. I would love for them to steamroll the game. I think that would be the most fun. Um, and I think at this point, kind of no matter who leaves, uh, there, there is possibility

[01:12:08] if Kamu leaves, um, that Melody and Mallory start working with Yash and do something else, uh, on, on the side of their, cause they're also frustrated with, you know, Drew and Barrett for not putting them in the best position in this alliance. It's kind of like everyone in the mosh pit feels like someone else has the upper hand, which is funny.

[01:12:34] It's like Devin's feels like the four, he doesn't know the name of the alliance, the FAP, but he feels like the other four would have a leg up on the three icons because it's four versus three. Meanwhile, Melody and Mallory are like, oh, Drew and Barrett are with the icons. So we're on the bottom of this alliance. Like everyone kind of feels like they're on the bottom, which is an interesting spot to be except probably Drew and Barrett. So yeah, it really is just the best for them. They're just not utilizing it. Yeah.

[01:13:02] And it certainly is an outcome that Kamu and Yash could steamroll the season, but it's not guaranteed that that happens if Kamu wins the blockbuster. I do think that there's still going to be like a lot of drama if Kamu ends up staying. A lot of games that go. Not that I'm even rooting. Make no mistake, I'm not rooting for that to happen. But I also think that you still have these two sides firing at each other and then these people in the middle. Like, I think it's still a very interesting house dynamic.

[01:13:32] I, we are blessed with a very fun house dynamic because I don't even think, I think there's like three sides. I think there might even be four sides after tomorrow night. Like there really are a lot of little clumps of people that could end up, you know, it's like you can detach them and then attach them to another group of two or three and make a whole new thing. Like, I think Mary's spreadsheet could legitimately have like 40 alliances by jury. Like that could happen. We could get there.

[01:13:57] Um, I think that Kamu and Yash have performed very well in the competitions, but the other side aren't like total zeros where you have like no faith that D or Rick Devins or Mallory or Barrett has come in second in all these competitions. It's not a foregone conclusion that Kamu wins every single challenge the rest of the season cut to a clip of me saying this and then Kamu has won every single challenge the rest of the season.

[01:14:24] But like it's, it, this isn't, I know that the fear is, you know, big brother 25, but Jag and Matt, not to take anything away from what they did in competitions. Did Matt win competitions? I don't really remember. Uh, but I know Jag won a bunch. Um, but they were going up against with, uh, Saree and Felicia, you know, Corey in America. And, uh, I don't even remember who else was there at that point in time.

[01:14:55] Um, I see the thing, it's just so tough to even say that anyone's going to win out all the comps this early. Um, again, I think the big reference everyone will go to is that season, Rob, because they really did take it over. Um, it's still too early to tell. We've had no repeat HOHs this season. We've had six unique HOHs. I'm hoping we continue with another, the streak next, uh, tomorrow night with a new person as well.

[01:15:23] So there's still no guarantee that could happen. But I do think that the people who have been doing really well in the comps, even if they're come up short are the same people. Like there's a lot more of the same people getting closer. Blockbuster. And I think that's something to consider. I will never consider Blockbusters as part of the stat sheet because you're competing with two people only. Like that's really not much to say there. But yeah. And I think like, to be clear, I think that the two things we've seen like so far in the

[01:15:53] season, we have to look at just what we've seen happen. What we've seen happen is, um, the icons have had a lot of power. Some of that was due to them aligning with the red corner early on, um, and they were winning challenges and so they were safe. So that's part of it. Uh, and I don't think that that's, we've seen from this week though, that if they're not in power, like if Taylor wins another HOH or not another, um, if Taylor wins an HOH,

[01:16:23] then it's definitely possible that she puts up the icons again. It's not just Yash and, um, and Kamu who could do that. I think we also have to look at the fact that Yash and Kamu have won or performed better in challenges than other people have. I think that it's, you can look at both ways and say, oh, it's still so early. There's so many people or look at it and say, we don't want the potential to even happen. It's getting late. It's getting late for sure. So I think either could happen.

[01:16:52] I think both groups need to think about like, how do we get out of the possible steamroll? Um, from either side. I think that like either is possible here. We've seen, um, that the icons have done a decent job at like turning people to their will, but that has also massively stalled out with certain people in the last couple of weeks. Yeah. I just want everybody to be okay because I feel like I don't want to, if Kamu wins the

[01:17:19] blockbuster, I don't want people to feel like, oh, season's over. Season's ruined. Get ready. It's a steamroll now. No, because I feel like at this point in time, if Kamu, if Kamu goes home, I think that, uh, there's still a huge chance that if Taylor, Mallory, Melody, Lala, Yash again, Haley,

[01:17:48] whoever's left, if any of them win HOHs, I see Devin's or Dee or Angela, any of them potentially going up. So I don't think we're going to necessarily- Might be worse for the icons of like, it's like, okay, now Kamu's gone. Now let's all look at the icons. Yeah. I think, yeah. They might wake up and say, hey, you know, we need Kamu. For me, like I prefer- Now we have to save Kamu. My favorite version of Big Brother is when the power truly does hop around back and forth a lot.

[01:18:17] And so the comp winnability that we've seen so far is concentrated more in one of these groups than the other, but that doesn't mean that it would necessarily stay there. If Kamu stays though, and it's him and Yash together, I also feel like either one of them could get back up on the block. The question is not so much whether they get put on the block. The question is, what's the likelihood that Yash and or Kamu get put on the block and lose

[01:18:46] Vito and the blockbuster? That's the real- They would have to, both of them would have to lose three challenges each in a row to not, to be sent out or be backdoored and still lose a challenge. And the blockbuster war, at some point also, I'm not sure at what point, I feel like last year it was going on even into the jury. But yeah, I mean, you want to look at it and say, okay, blockbuster ends when there's, what, seven people left in the game, however many people left in the game, and now it's

[01:19:16] so much easier for them to win an HOA to a Vito. So these are just the calculations you have to think about, but that's not to say that it's a guarantee slam dunk. Okay. Yeah. I think that the steamroll allegations will not stop until at least an icon goes home. I think that's what we're coming down to because- Wait, which side are we worried about the steamroll from? Is it a steamroll from the icons or a steamroll from Kamu and Josh? I think it's both. I think it's both. I think the minute this side loses a player like Kamu, the immediate, now we're looking

[01:19:46] over to- This is like one of those challenges where you have to like put the- You have to cut it in half. Keep it balanced and like don't let one side get too heavy. Like, oh, no, steamroll. Uh-oh. Yeah. I think these are two different types of steamrolls, which is where you as a viewer have to decide what are- Do you- Would you rather have three people who have more experience steamroll because they've played games before or two people plus whoever else is in their alliance have a steamroll here mostly based on comp wins?

[01:20:15] Like, because the icons themselves- I am so bad at remembering. Have they won more than two comps? Like, the D and Devin's HOHs and the D one where she only was competing against other That's all they've got is those three. Those are the only two competitions they've won. So they started strong and they've done a lot socially and alliance-wise and based on being the icons, they had a lot handed to them and powers to put them in a position for steamroll. But that's not the same as two people winning a bunch of comps.

[01:20:44] I think that the D and Devin's threat of the- and Angela threat of the steamroll, like it was one thing when it was like when he first got the diamond power of Vito and it's six weeks and he could leverage that. Like, that's not what happened. You know, it didn't end up being- The diamond power of Vito could turn out to be a total flop if Kamu wins the blockbuster. So it wasn't necessarily like that they were able to leverage the powers into this great advantage.

[01:21:13] I mean, I guess maybe unless Kamu goes home, but if he doesn't, like, you know, I'm not too worried about the icons steamrolling. Like, they're still very outnumbered and very exposed. Yeah, but I also, like, I completely respect if a viewer says I don't even like the fact that they're there and we're given, you know, by viewership the opportunity to win powers and have been given a lot of screen time. Like, I understand why people could be sick of them. I'm also biased to just not wanting one side to win all the competitions.

[01:21:41] What if FAP steamrolls everybody? What about that? I said I would love that best. A lot of them- For me, that's my favorite outcome. So- Is it just me or am I the only one having a hankering for like some egg rolls right now? Because the more and more we say steamrolls, all I'm thinking of is steamrolls. Personally. That's where I'm at. I'll be very honest with you. All right. Let's see. What rolls would you get into? Egg roll? Oh, I don't discriminate. Spring roll, egg roll. Pizza roll.

[01:22:11] Give me all the rolls. Sure. We're living. This is the opposite of the pit. I want all the rolls. I want none of the pits. Yeah. I've got some- Jelly roll? In my fridge. Uh, pass. You found one. It's like Minesweeper. You got one. Pass. All right. There you go. All right. Anything else, BB28? No. Just excited for the eviction tomorrow. Should be fun.

[01:22:39] Um, I hope, uh, I hope we, I'll be honest. I hope Kamu leaves. That's my personal bias showing. I don't really care for the Kamu of it all. Um, also, I think he's a very tough person to get out of the house and he's shown that because he's really good at what he does. So he's there. I would like for him to go. And then I would like for the game to get cracked wide open. Yeah. I don't think it can be understated. Also, how, how good Kamu has been since kind of ditching the red corner at integrating with other people.

[01:23:09] Yeah. I think that he has done a lot. So I think it's not for him. It's not just the, uh, like he's got the, the social and strategic side as well. Yeah. So he is, he's definitely a big threat all around. Okay. And so maybe if you're hoping for Kamu to go out and maybe, uh, hopefully he'll, uh, ask Melody when she's having a baby again tonight, just, uh, for good measure in case anybody's thinking about, uh, flipping on the vote. Yeah. That was fun.

[01:23:37] Keep her, keep her on the right side of the numbers. Okay. I don't want to read that RPF. All right. Let's talk about what we've got coming up. Rehap Con will be there. What costume will Mary wear at Rehap Con? Find out. Bringing a trunk. She's bringing a trunk of costumes to Rehap Con. So, uh, we will be there in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. You can be there too. Not on Thursday.

[01:24:03] That's sold out, but, uh, come out and see us Wednesday night, big brother as well. Friday is going to be very fun too. Rehap Con.com. Then on Thursday night, Captain Will is going to be joining us to talk about the eviction and everything that's going on. Should be a fun one. Looking forward. I've been looking forward to talking to Captain Will ever since last season. So, uh, should be a really interesting night no matter what happens.

[01:24:29] I talked to Christian Hubicki, of course, uh, the, uh, best bro of Rick Devins. And we had a fun conversation about where Christian thinks, uh, Rick's head is at right now. Let's check that out in the Big Brother podcast feed. And we've been doing so much stuff on Patreon, including, I was live with Taryn just a couple of hours ago. We updated the percentages.

[01:24:55] We do a thing where we go through everybody in the game and we talk about what percentage chance they have to win the game. I will tell you there is a new person in the top spot right now. The, the, the, the fluctuations are everywhere. It's been very fun to track. So you can check that out as Taryn and I were live for the BB mailbag for the patrons only earlier tonight.

[01:25:20] And then last night, uh, really, really fun week on the slop with Chappelle talking about all of the nonsense in the Big Brother world. So be sure to check that out. All the patrons rave about the slop every week, uh, find out what you're missing on the slop. And then on Friday, I have a Q and a coming up 3 PM Eastern last week. Pooja filled in for me while I was hobnobbing with the glitterati in LA last week.

[01:25:49] Uh, Pooja and Brandon Donlin filled in. I'll be back 3 PM Eastern taking all of your calls and hot takes live on Friday. And then, uh, over on the survivor podcast feed, Jonathan Penner and I, uh, with birthday boy, Mike Bloom, we talked about the mutiny from survivor cook islands. Very fun series Mike and I are doing going back with the survivors. Pooja, what's happening on the traders Australia three, man. Some people are calling this batch of episodes.

[01:26:19] Some of the best traders they've seen. It gets very interesting. Um, I want to try and describe it in a way without giving anything away. But I would say is if you've ever listened to our podcasts on any of the traders franchises and you were like, I wish they would talk about some of these points and these strategies on the show. Cause the show, they make it just look like it's a murder mystery. Watch this season, this season, they show you everything. And I think it's been very interesting.

[01:26:44] We had a very fun and lively discussion about these two episodes with Annabelle, some agreements, some disagreements on different strategies and stuff. So it's been a good season. There's only six episodes out. Check it out. All right. What a tease. And now we need to see what's going on there. Hey, okay. I'm doing. And then what's happened on the, uh, Pooja and Liana Lounge. Is that, is that jelly roll? Jelly. That's not jelly roll. So let me tell you what happened here. I'm going to, I'm going to spoil a little bit of this lounge for you.

[01:27:11] So we were on the lounge and I don't remember how it came up, but I was like, Hey, what does the J and PB and J stand for you? And Liana was like, jelly. I was like, it's jam. Are you joking me? And so I was like, you know what I'm going to do? I'm going to go ahead and put up a poll in the chat BCC. See what the people on chat BCC are saying. 1600 people voted, Rob. 95% of them said jelly. Yeah. And I don't know what's real anymore. Yes. You thought it was PB and jam? It's peanut butter and jam.

[01:27:42] Listen, the thing is for me, I grew up on jam. So the J was for jam, but I understand with the, with the peanut butter and jelly time. I get it. I understand. I get it now. I just didn't think it was just going to be a measly 5%. I thought there were more of us. Turns out there's just dozens. That's it. Yeah. Just a select few. So yeah. Okay. PB and jam. Mm-hmm. Okay. All right.

[01:28:12] Mary, what are you up to these days? I'm hanging. Um, uh, yeah. Having fun. Excited for Rapcon. Um, chatting about Suite Life of Zach and Cody over on the Free Agents podcast with Matt. It's so fun to say that. Are you doing that episode by episode rewatch? We are. It's so fun. How many episodes are there? Uh, there's like, I don't know, 70 or something maybe total, but it's like only three.

[01:28:41] Three seasons and season two has like 40 episodes and the other two are much smaller. It's very odd. Sure. 87. Eight. Wow. Yeah. So look at that. It's, it's been fun though. You know, who doesn't want to sit down for just like a 23 minute children sitcom? It's great. Having a great time. Um, so yeah, I'm, uh, I'm completing the Riverdale circuit by watching Suite Life of Zach and Cody. Is that the Riverdale circuit? What is there a tie in? It's just, there's an overlap in actors. Oh, okay. That's all. Yeah. All right. Plural. Yes.

[01:29:11] All right. Well, thank you so much for joining us here for our Wednesday night recap. It's going to be a fun Thursday. Summer of Stein as well. Taryn will be live at 11 a.m. And then we'll have Captain Will on the recap. So, uh, big day tomorrow. Uh, check it out. Take care of a good one. Bye.
