[00:02:13] Good morning, Taran Armstrong. Talk big brother looking at the stuff from yesterday. All the drama, all the strategy and silliness from Fido to HOH.

[00:02:38] In your season, you know he is the reason. You know what's happening. Rob said that he could do it. Tomorrow he will do it again. Hello everyone and good morning. Welcome to our live feed update for September 2nd.

[00:03:05] I'm your host, Darren Armstrong and I'm here today to update you on everything that happened yesterday. The big brother 28 live feeds. It was day 57 in the house. And it was a slow-ish day. But some interesting things going on. Including another vote flip? A vote flip you might not have expected.

[00:03:34] We had some Barrett camera talks that were a bit interesting. And of course more Drew and Melody being Drew and Melody. And with me to talk through it all is Mike. How you doing, Mike? I am ecstatic, Taryn. Listen, RHAP has gotten its flowers in so many ways over the course of this season. But I feel like we got the ultimate gift in that a bunch of us were coming back from Milwaukee.

[00:03:57] So they decided to make this an easy breezy couple of days to the point where there's a plan that everyone can apparently get on board with. Yes, indeed. Indeed. So as you all know, Drew is the HOH. He nominated Lala, Taylor and Yash. Yash though won the veto, took himself off the block. And Drew replaced Yash with the volunteered Devins. Devins now on the block.

[00:04:25] He will be blindsided if he loses the blockbuster because Barrett has flipped. And Barrett, along with Yash, Melody and whoever wins the blockbuster between Lala and Taylor in that event, will vote Devins out and he will be gone. He does not know this yet. That is the current state of things. Of course, there's more there.

[00:04:48] Meaning that if, you know, say Devins were to win the blockbuster, current plan is for Lala to be the one that is evicted. But that also hasn't really been discussed all that much. It will be a little bit today. And we do start the day with Lala talking to Angela about the two of them and how they are working together and, you know, what they might do next week.

[00:05:13] And really just like further solidifying the idea that Angela should really want Lala to stay between Taylor and Lala. And given that Angela at this point has no idea that Devins might go, I'm surprised that there aren't more discussions about this vote considering this is what they believe to be the primary thing.

[00:05:35] Yeah, when it comes to the crossovers, obviously there is a lot of discussion from an independent perspective as to this move and the actions this week and how much, you know, they're benefiting the individual versus the group. Obviously, Devins volunteering for tribute is the primary example of this. But I feel like Angela's relationship with Lala is also a great point as well, where I think the general consensus is OK, especially if it's between Lala and Taylor take out Lala.

[00:06:02] She's the bigger competition threat. Hell, she just spent the day starting off while everyone else was slumbering doing what, like 40 minutes on the elliptical while she's giving this hybrid motivational speech slash Peloton instruction video slash like dating profile as well. She talks about how she wants to be a certain man's head of household. She wants him to come home and she wants to rub his feet, make him feel good at the end of the day.

[00:06:26] But Angela might not be making Lala feel good. And yeah, this is always the crux of not only the arguments within Big Brother, but really social strategy games as a whole, which is in this example, Angela. I mean, if Devins goes here and Angela and D are left a little rudderless, Angela does have this tie to, quote unquote, the other side in the form of Lala.

[00:06:46] And it seems like right now she is more so servicing the group mentality of, OK, Lala is the biggest threat to the crossovers, even though I don't think Lala is necessarily the biggest threat to her game as opposed to Taylor. Exactly. Yes. So this Lala vote will put a pin in it for now. It is something that, again, we'll have a little bit of conversation about later, but I expect more of it to come today.

[00:07:13] Today being Wednesday, the vote is a little more present in people's minds. Barrett talks to the cameras. He has a couple of these conversations, but there's an early one that happens here. He says, just to be clear, if Devins is sitting on the block on Thursday, I will be voting him out. It's almost as if he knows that there are people that doubt.

[00:07:38] I mean, listen, he's looking in the camera right now and seeing all the straw men being like, listen, I know. I know what you mean. I know what you're thinking right now. I just want to let everybody know. I know people were admonishing Barrett, understandably so. When it comes to these super fans in general of like, tell us what you're thinking. You know, I think Corey Wurtenberger was the peak example of what super fans should do in terms of letting us all in as to what you're thinking.

[00:08:03] So Barrett has woken up in more ways than one, not only, I think, from a gameplay perspective, but also from a transparency perspective and really letting us know at the jump. And look, you know, I'm shooting the shit with Devins and Drew right now, talking money ball, talking about, you know, how much I love Cody Nixon. But like, don't you worry on the DL? I'm going to vote him out. Yes. Yeah. Talk about all kinds of movies.

[00:08:31] And but he finds it exhausting talking because there's like a nervous energy to Devins. He wants him gone. He he says, listen. Is this the smart move? I don't know. I think it actually might not be. But I wouldn't be proud of my the game that I played if I just coasted along and got dragged along for the entire game, letting the icons play the game for me.

[00:08:59] If I got evicted at like the final five, I was like the first crossovers member out like that. I would hate that. That would suck so much. I would so much rather try to do something and fail than do nothing and sit around and maybe make it further. And this this is why we this is why we want super fans on the show like this. It doesn't often manifest itself like this.

[00:09:27] And when I say super fans, I mean, like he is like deep, deep, deep in this stuff. He's talked about this. People have tracked recently that if you watch certain like Big Brother 23 and 15 minutes videos that Barrett like compiled, edited and narrated those types of things. He is in deep, folks. Yes. And like he's talked about how he doesn't like it when there are returning players on it, which like I think people had been like showing clips of that prior to this. And like, well, look at this hypocrite.

[00:09:58] I can't believe he's he's doing this after all the stuff he said about not liking returning players. And yes, you know, he did play himself into this corner. He did throw the HOH that sent Mallory home. He did roll over at every opportunity prior to this moment. And no, I do not believe for a second the argument that he was just biding his time waiting for the moment to come.

[00:10:22] I think that he was sort of beaten into it, that they they pushed him one time too far. And he was like, all right, screw it. I'm done with you then. And this is where he is now. And I like where he is now. I do agree with him. I raised similar concerns on the roundtable about exactly what he's talking about in his in his camera talk here that, you know, it is at the very least a risky maneuver.

[00:10:49] But I do think it's a necessary one for him. I think it's actually a better move than even he seems to recognize. But but this is just the first part of the conversation. So we'll wait until he gets to the second part of his camera talk later in the day to go a little deeper into this.

[00:11:09] The one other thing he says here in this first one is that he talks about how sus the icons are that like they were like, oh, we're not sure we can trust you before Devin's went on the block. And then as soon as Devin's did go on the block, they all came up to him like, oh, we trust you so much. He's like, Angela, I love you. But that was acting for a low budget movie.

[00:11:31] And that's another reason why you cast super fans, right, is to use these people's most memeable moments against them to go back to the point that you said about bringing on super fans in general. I mean, I think we can state at this point that not all super fans are created equal just as a reminder about how big of a fan Frenchie was just to show how far the spectrum. Frenchie brought it. Frenchie brought it. Exactly.

[00:11:56] But I think that it goes to show how there are some people, the Steve's and the Ian's of the world, of which I think people were sort of assigning Barrett's gameplay to early on. I'm like, well, he's attaching himself to the vets because maybe, you know, then he'll cut him at the last minute or they won't vote for a vet in the end against him. And sometimes that is the prevalent gameplay based on historic precedent.

[00:12:18] But I think, as you mentioned, this is a facet that can come with a bit of super fandom is like he does say at a certain point in his second camera talk, like, I hope people are liking this season. Like, I think there's some dramatic stuff happening. But he does tell Drew at one point, I don't know if people are liking this season as much as we are. And not to say that you should be making these moves specifically for the sake of good TV. I think that's another thing that has also been talked about, which is like, listen, you should just cash the check for a quarter of a million or three quarters of a million dollars.

[00:12:47] And, you know, yeah, if your season gets F ranked when people do their tier list, that's totally fine. It's still $750,000 at the end of the day. But I wonder if from Barrett's perspective, not to say that he's not looking at himself winning the game because he laid out a couple of other options towards the end of his second camera talk.

[00:13:05] But you do have to wonder, or at least this would be my, you know, warped perspective, that if you feel like the path to win is getting narrower and narrower, would you want the path around you to be a dark black tunnel of a steamroll? Or would you want it to be a kaleidoscope of colorful patterns of unpredictability, even if you don't necessarily reach the end of that cylinder?

[00:13:28] And so I could see from Barrett's perspective a little bit, not to mention, of course, factored in, I think, a little bit of emotions around the fact that he did feel like, if he felt hampered in the beginning, when the icons and the tool shed were in power, it was even more so last week when they said, hey, not only is your number one or one of your closest people going on the block, but we're also going to get rid of her. And you can't really have a say in it whatsoever.

[00:13:52] Yeah. And obviously, there's a part of this that he's explaining that is like, I want to do this because it's how I want my game to go and it's how I want the season to go. But, you know, obviously, this is all in part of it's all part of the game that's being played as well. He's also just pissed at them. Like, that is another major aspect of this. It's not just that he like wants to do it for TV. It's that they've pissed him off.

[00:14:21] He's still so upset about the Mallory thing. And so he wants them to go down. He thinks the game would be more fun without them. And in general, I think, again, like this does actually make a good amount of sense for his game, especially because it gives him options moving forward.

[00:14:45] And it's the kind of move that, you know, I think that people advocate for all the time, which is take the game into your own hands. Stop sitting around and letting it happen around you, which is exactly what he had been doing to this point. And it got him a Mallory eviction, which is a much worse position than he should have been coming into this week. And so here he goes. Yeah. Let's also say again, we cannot state this enough.

[00:15:09] This does not obfuscate whatsoever the stuff that Barrett had been doing for the first month and a half in the house. I totally agree with you, Taryn, that this is not going to be when Ethan Imel makes his inevitable Barrett video. I don't think we're necessarily going to be looking back on this whole thing with the rose colored sunglasses that he tends to wear while he's in the house.

[00:15:30] Again, if he was committed to being this remora to the, you know, pool of sharks that was the vets, he've latched on way, way, way more than he necessarily needed to. So it's not to say that we feel like, oh, my God, he is this master level player. And now he's finally making the move he knew he was going to make. If anything, for me, when it comes to this decision, I often talk about moves in these social strategy games. It's falling into one of two camps, either moves to get you further or moves to win.

[00:15:59] And in this first camera talk, Barrett outright says, do I think Melody and Yash are going to take me to the end? No, probably not. To me, this more so defines a move to win than a move to make it further, considering he quite literally said, I could look at an easy spot at fifth place right now, but I'd rather eschew that with the prospect of aiming just a smidge higher than going out in the penultimate week. And the thing is that I don't think he is in fifth place with his current standing.

[00:16:28] I think he is overconfident in that. I don't think that sticking with the crossovers means he gets fifth place in any in any sense. I think that he's actually probably targeted quite soon. But either way, to your point here about like the change in Barrett's game, he talks to Drew after this. And and I'm going to skip forward in the conversation a little bit just because it's more relevant here. But Drew asks Barrett, like, are you proud of the game that you've played?

[00:16:56] And Barrett says, well, I mean, it's gotten me this far, but I can see that on the TV show, it's probably, you know, the crossovers, which are the icons. And then and then these two motherfuckers, you know, like the vote flip to save Melody. I didn't do that shit. Taking Kamu out. I didn't do that shit. Taking Chuck out. I didn't do that shit. Taking Haley out. I mean, maybe I did a little bit of that shit. We haven't seen it quite yet.

[00:17:24] But he was also put in that situation by the other people as well. He didn't say throw me in and I'll take out Haley. Yes. And so so Drew is like, well, you know what? It's time to turn it on now, just like Morgan did. And that is that is exactly sort of the situation that we are in. Right. Like Barrett feels like it is time to turn it on. And we have seen that happen plenty of times.

[00:17:53] Like there is, especially having just hit the jury. There's still like almost 40 days left in this season. Maybe a little over 30 now. There's still so much time to completely change your game and completely change the narrative. And and that, I think, is what Barrett is trying to do, which I think is is very fun.

[00:18:17] In this conversation with Drew, they also talk about he asks Drew, like, you know, what's what do you think is the play moving forward? Drew says, well, ideally Lala goes this week. Then like Josh next week. Then Taylor. Then it's like, well, then then Melody, I guess. It's like they talk about bringing Melody, like keeping her safe. But what does that mean?

[00:18:42] It's again, it's like I feel like both of them are afraid of saying too much to one another about whether or not they're actually loyal. Drew even asks, like, do you still think the Devon's route is the best way to go? And and Barrett's like, I don't know. I don't see any other route we have, which is obviously a lie. He plans to vote. Devon's out. And Drew's like, I don't know. I just think he probably also has a deal with Angela and D, right?

[00:19:11] And it's like, it's clear that Drew is really probing here. He's like, I mean, I guess. But I, you know, I don't think he hangs out with them as much as he does us. So it wouldn't surprise me if we were his priority or maybe he just thinks he can beat us. Um, and so, you know, it, it, it's giving Drew wouldn't be that upset. Maybe, uh, about Devon's leaving now. I don't know that he wants him to leave right now.

[00:19:37] I think Drew is probably on the other side of the equation when it comes to, I think that Yash, Taylor and Lala, uh, are bigger threats to my game than, than Devon's right now. But, you know, it's, it's just, it's interesting watching them talk around this whole subject. And talk around each other as well. Because as we remember Barrett, uh, even though he has the biggest acts to grind against the icons, I think he has a little bit of a hatchet to grind against Drew.

[00:20:03] Also considering the fact that Barrett was more than happy to vote out Drew last week as well. And I think it's tough to really reverse course on those opinions. Yeah, the, the Melody point was also really interesting because it felt like Drew was definitely trying to cast a lure out to be like, would you put up Melody? I think he's trying to truly figure out, like, how much is Fath effed? And, or how much, like, does he really have to be the baby of the icons? As he was saying. And the fact that Barrett wasn't giving him much.

[00:20:31] Again, as you said, you know, there's a little less than a month left and things could change, especially if Devon's goes. But it feels like the jugglers are a bit up in the air in terms of their dynamic right now. And that might be even more so at the end of this week. Yes. Today's episode is brought to you by Vinted. I think a lot of us have the same problem. The clothes in the closet that we keep saying, we'll wear them again, but we never do. They're not bad. We just don't use them.

[00:20:58] And meanwhile, you're running out of space and not really doing anything about it. That's where Vinted comes in. Vinted is a secondhand marketplace app that makes it easy to sell the clothes you're not wearing anymore and actually earn some money from them. They're not getting voted out of the closet. They're going to Redemption Island. Vinted generates the prepaid shipping labels for you when you sell it. That's pretty much it. And here's the part that actually matters. There's no seller fees on Vinted.

[00:21:26] Whatever your item sells for, you keep all of it. Not most of it. All of it. I think that's the thing that changes how you look at your closet. Suddenly, that stack of shirts you haven't touched in two years isn't clutter. It's just unlisted. And once you start listing on Vinted, it makes it a lot easier to refresh your wardrobe without spending much because you can put that money right back into finding pieces you'll actually wear. The app is free to download. Listing is quick and simple.

[00:21:53] And right now, there's free shipping in the U.S. for a limited time. Ready to clean out your closet and make some extra money? [00:23:52] So that's some interesting conversation happening between Barrett and Drew. In the meantime, D is downstairs and she's talking to the cameras. She's kind of like chilling in bed. She's kind of under the covers and she's like, yeah, I'm thinking about it. What is she thinking about? She says, you know, when it was my HOH and Mallory was going up, he was the good guy.

[00:24:20] And he told me about it, right? He told me about it, which I appreciate, but he made a joke the other day that was like, did you guys forget about what happened last week? And I'm like, in that moment, I can't even defend myself because they think I'm the selfish one and I'm taking the bullet. For all I know, he has a final three with them, which would be a good move for him because I know I'd vote for Devin's over them. So I don't know. It's got me thinking.

[00:24:50] Maybe I vote Devin's out. Oh, now, okay. Let's play devil's advocate here, shall we, Terry? Because this will be obviously a topic that gets broached in a much larger capacity with Angela later on. Because I do feel like D has had some comments about how she's felt like Barrett's behavior has also been a little off. I think she makes a comment today that like, he's basically up in the gym the entire day.

[00:25:18] She doesn't necessarily interact with him. And so maybe she's feeling the writing on the wall a little bit and is like, if Devin stays on the block, Barrett might have the compulsion to flip. And so I want to hop on that train and as you mentioned before, create a rationalization behind it. But if D Valladares votes out the man who saved her with the diamond power of Vito two weeks ago because of a bad joke he made, would that not be

[00:25:48] the most quintessential Rick Devins ending possible? That the man who is Mr. Jokey Dad for the vast majority of this game gets undone because his allies didn't like a joke that he made? It's very reminiscent of Drew who also got into hot water early on when people were like, he's making too many jokes about turning on us. I think he's actually going to do so. Maybe the lesson is, Taren, you want to be as sober as a teetotaler here. Throw some jokes in but don't go full jester.

[00:26:18] Well, I think what I would say to that is that I don't think it was the joke. I think the joke is the excuse. I think the joke is like, because the joke was nothing. nothing. We know that Devin's has zero intention of using the boys to go against Dee and Angel. We know that Devin's has said to the cameras that he plans to go to the end with Dee while Dee has said

[00:26:48] the opposite the whole time. I think that yes, the day before when she was talking to the cameras and she was like, they would be idiots to not vote Devin's out. I think it was because she was kind of wanting Devin's out. And I think she just in general sees that Devin's has the position that she would ideally want to be in. Now remember how Dee won Survivor is that she was in the Devin's spot. She was at the center of her group and she manages

[00:27:17] to run down to the end with that group in that spot. She knows and sees that Devin's is in that spot right now. He has Barrett and Drew she had to burn them both in the previous now I say had she burned them both in the previous week while Devin's got to play good guy and now Devin's is sitting firmly at the center of their their alliance. And again if this were Survivor you would have to do something about that at some point because

[00:27:47] you might not get another chance if you know if the numbers play out the way they are and now that she's playing Big Brother it's like well this is potentially my opportunity he's on the block I might need to take this shot and so I think the joke is just like one little cherry stacked on top of all of these other things that she's thinking about and a good reason we know Dee loves her reasons almost as much as Vanessa does

[00:28:16] to make this move actually happen and so she's thinking about this now she's just talking to the cameras right now this is kind of a wild move we'll have to wait and see if it actually seems to stick at all and in the meantime Barrett's talking to the cameras some more so let's talk more about Barrett who just continues to talk about how the icons have had it too easy in the game he wouldn't be happy with the

[00:28:46] season if you let them run it all the way to the end the game would be way more fun with he's gonna vote for anybody that flips to that I say bullshit all right buddy sure I'd like to see you hold to that I'd like to see you vote for Lala over me come on yeah I mean I think you talk about him seeing what the fans are possibly saying through the camera maybe he was also

[00:29:16] looking ahead to the stock watch ratings and it's like listen I know there's been a lot of wacky popularity ratings this week let me try to jockey for number one here by calling out the threat that Devon's made as recent as right before the veto ceremony we're not gonna vote for the person who does this I do feel like and Taryn I don't know if you made this comparison before but before D ends up formally making this decision down the line I was getting so many flashbacks to one fortuitous morning

[00:29:46] when I was watching Big Brother Canada 10 and a gummy bear was drawn in terms of how this all turns out of Devon's in a safe position not needing to volunteer himself for the metaphoric draw but he decides to put himself in there and then as soon as he gets drawn you know you have Marty being like okay but we're all locking this in right let's all look to the

[00:30:22] this more all I am thinking is that this guy is giving himself shades of Kevin Jacobs and Helena combined in more than willing and able to say hey yeah thank you for doing this for us but there is no charitable action that can truly exist altruism is not a thing in these types of games this is way worse than the gummy bear situation I mean like Kevin came up with the gummy bear to keep himself off the block right uh

[00:30:52] Devin's just fully Devin's didn't volunteer for a one in four or five chance right like Devin's was just like nah it's just gonna be me he took all the gummy bears out yeah this is pooch you know what I mean Devin's is pooching himself um so uh so he's um so Barrett's talking to the cameras he says uh he does not he's not gonna vote for anybody that flips um

[00:31:22] and uh and I do think he he might be underestimating it and again this is why it's like if you're Devin's and you want to be able to bluff like this you actually do kind of have to follow through with the bluff if you're gonna play multiple seasons um but given the fact that D is already thinking clearly about potentially making this move uh he's probably uh he's probably right that like he's not gonna lose three or four votes uh if he makes this

[00:31:51] decision he does think that he can beat Drew Taylor and Lala in a final two situation all three of those people he feels good about beating and I think as of right now he's probably in a decent place with them although Drew I'd actually worry about a little bit more he hopes the season has been fun to watch he does though worry about Melody uh he thinks he has her more than Drew but she

[00:32:21] could be playing him it would not surprise him if Melody were playing him now I think that he's right I think he does have her more than Drew does um but I think that his suspicion is also right in the sense that not that not in the sense that she's playing him right now or has been but in the sense that like Melody will I think eventually choose Drew over Barrett I think like just the

[00:32:51] trajectory of their relationship and the diminishing uh uh sort of barriers between them in the game if Devins is gone especially I think that like they will eventually link up and be you know Drew and Melody more than Barrett and Melody for as much good work uh that that that uh that Barrett's done with her um so while I don't think he's right to suspect her in the past

[00:33:21] like leading up to this moment I do think he should be worried about her in the future Barrett as a superfan should know never underestimate the connection of a showmance and for as much as they have this like love hate relationship they are they are a showmance you know what I mean like that's they're there yeah they're a showmance uh I would say not in name only like in name excluding maybe Barrett is seeing shades of another Drew uh Drew and Diane

[00:33:51] from Big Brother Five in there Drew compared them himself to that the uh because I mean like Drew was with the four horsemen before they fell like the two of them were on largely opposite sides of the house until around this time when they started working together in more ways than one so maybe Barrett is looking towards that he also mentions Yash which is a threat to him for a couple of reasons a the fact that he is the biggest competition

[00:34:21] threat and this is a time of the game where you mentioned she said production said the deal is final no matter

[00:34:50] what so even if D is out of the house this deal is going to pull through no matter what number of icons are left when interesting yeah when Yash is HOH and or Devin I was wondering about that about what information is public

[00:35:20] at this point Barrett only knows that Yash cannot put up D okay so that but either way he does feel like it's a little bit of a thorny situation the fact that he is forbidden to nominate somebody especially since we are coming into the final eight and so he is at least aware of the fact that it's not going to be a I'm flipping on the icons and then I'm not going to work with them whatsoever he was actively talking about trying to do a pendulum situation of I'll take

[00:35:50] out an icon then maybe I'll move ahead with Dian Angela and take out a Yash which is good on yeah I mean I guess it I mean listen the breaking of the curse by voting out D is a fun thought I do see some logic in why it

[00:36:20] wouldn't work that way what if D is on the block and she uses the bribe for future action for an ally instead of herself and then she gets evicted and ideally holds for the ally she made it for something along those but before Barrett talks about Yash he continues on about Melody and something that I thought was kind of interesting

[00:36:49] he mentions because he's talking about how he thinks he thinks she's played well and he likes her a lot and he thinks that she's one of the primary people he

[00:37:19] would vote for in a final two her and Yash and if honestly if it were a Melody and Yash final two he'd be pretty happy like if it were to be anybody but Twitter's fave versus Blue Sky's fave like I don't know who takes home the victory there more importantly who loses well he does say that he thinks that

[00:37:49] Yash would beat anybody it would be cool to be in to maneuver his game forward and this is exactly again what I talked about on the roundtable Monday night which is like what is Barrett's plan from here I don't know if he has one and he's saying

[00:38:19] in this camera talk I don't really have one I'm not sure where to go from here you so he talks about next week and he's like so if you know if Devins leaves and I win HOH I nominate D and Angela under the assumption that there's no

[00:38:49] blockbuster which I think there will be but they're all hoping there won't be even though they I watched last season but if I need a renom do I just target Yash at that point maybe I don't know and so clearly as he's thinking forward he's starting to recognize that yes he would probably need to target Yash as soon

[00:39:19] as next week if he had the ability to but he's still not sure about it and so it's interesting to see the thought process but we know that it's likely going to be a blockbuster anyway and so who would be his third nominee of them and would he even target D and Angela at all once he has more time to think through what his options are that's a whole other story but interesting

[00:39:48] to see the thought process here from Barrett and that he is at least a little bit thinking I and I can't I can't think of big brother 15 when it's like okay the

[00:40:18] exterminators lock in and they run things until the end of the game I can't really think of many examples where one person is like I've got threats on both sides let me try to carefully prune it you know like you're trimming the leaves on a bonsai tree I don't necessarily know if Barrett has that green thumb necessarily but as you mentioned I'm just appreciative that

[00:40:55] amongst the people who are on the jury right now I do think it's Devin's I think I think that if they all had to vote right now I think Devin's would win but I think that Yash would have a good chance and after that I don't know I think Yash and Devin's are the top two though yeah I

[00:41:25] maybe D after that yeah then maybe I mean I guess Melody's gonna tell Drew later on that she feels like if an Icon's in the final two they're gonna win no matter what but I

[00:41:56] maybe maybe not against Yash or Devins it's tough it's tough to go down the list too far because you really start to run into some problems but I think I think that Devins is probably the guy that if he has that

[00:42:26] fourth vote if not more but if he's sitting next to any of those three I think he gets the votes against them also so yeah but with Devins gone I there's

[00:42:55] been so many comments today as well as again one of the many 13 reasons why he's thinking about Devins right now it's like he's been acting different he's nervous he's jumpy have you observed that behavior as well or is this more so confirmation bias projected onto Devins um there is I mean he's mostly the same but there is uh like a tinge of desperation to

[00:43:24] like he's having these conversations with people he's talking about movies with Barrett um and it's just like he's lacking the the very like relaxed dad feel where he feels comfortable like giving them shit instead it's a little bit more like uh like but you like me though right like it's a little more desperate it's a little more please don't vote me out um and

[00:43:54] and I think that that's coming across because he's hasn't been on the block to this point and he's been in such a position of power uh so um and not to mention the fact that like it's not just necessarily him that changes on the block and they're all thinking about potentially voting him out and so the way they interact with him changes and he likely responds to that change and then they see it as him changing when really it's also

[00:44:23] them changing how they act and react to him uh it's a pretty classic just case of people being on the block uh especially if you're not used to it uh speaking of though he does go and talk to Angela uh and they start talking about how you know are the boys gonna flip on Devons well what if we flipped on Devons and just like I did think about this

[00:44:58] what I'm thinking and then they get interrupted and the cameras come back later and Angela's uh D's clearly explained the idea a bit and Angela's talking through it and she's like yeah he's it's not how he played survivor but if we're both feeling this way and D's like yeah and this is he made this joke the other day about don't forget about last week uh and they've clearly talked through all of why they're feeling a little sussed out on Devons um and she says D says the plan could be listen this is what I'm thinking

[00:45:28] one of us secretly votes out Devons makes it four to two then we blame the vote on Barrett this this needs to happen Taryn I love me some Rick Devons but he needs to lose this blockbuster now even more than 24 hours prior because the pure comedy let's like let's blueprint this right now if this

[00:45:57] vote ends up happening if D and Angela purposely split their votes to try to blame it on Barrett they think it would be four to two instead it would be five to one Lala Taylor Barrett and Yash would all be blindsided because they thought it would be four to two and the icons would vote to keep Devons D and Angela would be blindsided because they certainly thought Barrett was going to vote with Angela one point like

[00:46:27] Barrett's too kind to vote out Devons not knowing that once again conspiring is happening in the gym to possibly end her game the one person who is left out of all of this is the HOH Drew has no idea that anybody is talking about Devons the pure irony of this situation Taryn is that of everyone in the crossovers the only person who is not aware of the crossover upon crossover violence that is about to happen from all sides

[00:46:57] is the man who has been suspected for the first month of the game of being the most against the very alliance that is about to leave him in the dark yeah all those people for the first month of the game that were like no D and Angela are right about Drew are very wrong they were very wrong very very wrong Drew is literally the only person left that is loyal to this alliance

[00:47:28] but yes the plan that D proposes would be one of them secretly flip they blame it on Barrett it's a terrible idea it makes no sense who are you blaming Barrett for Devons is gone you just you just flipped the vote against yourself and then lied about being in the minority that's what Mallory and Malady were proposing the week before at least which was also a terrible idea but at least they had

[00:47:58] some sort of side to be appeasing in the yosh side of things by flipping and claiming and all of that stuff but but in this case there's no side left to appease if you're blaming Barrett Barrett's like the only one that would be mad you're blaming Barrett to be like Barrett we didn't flip against you you flipped against you like you did it don't you remember the other vote it's like it's like memento you had a dissociative

[00:48:28] moment it was actually you by half this is absolutely ridiculous you do not make kinky votes happen or try to blame it on other people at the final nine when there are six people voting you can certainly worked for Andy but you know it's a

[00:49:06] idea of turning on Devins here and look again I'll go back to the point that I've seen before and I could understand of her if she

[00:49:36] are going to lean up the cross over is a honor society to the end right I don't think that D has necessarily put in the work specifically with the Yash Lala Taylor contingent that she feels like hey everybody I'm glad we all got together to get out Devins right we're all for one one for all towards the end screw Drew am I right they're not going to forget everything that has happened over the course of the past seven weeks the

[00:50:06] plan is to not do that the plan is to be how is that going to work what do you mean like okay you could say you could maybe say

[00:50:37] well they don't want they don't want devins to be bitter in the jury they need to pretend like they Angela realizes this she's like I don't think this makes any sense I'm going to be put on the spot for

[00:54:07] building apply today and earn a welcome offer of $1,500 cash back after you spend $50,000 in qualifying purchases on your new can't even target us at all so i think it could make sense and honestly we should also kind of think about

[00:54:37] should we evict taylor over lala like i think you could pull lala from the other side and it's like okay okay here we go now we're talking about something a little more realistic and so they talk a little bit about that that conversation we're going to put a pin in it for now i'm sure they're going to come back to it later but this but devins play they don't they don't want to do the silly blame barrett thing anymore like that's that's that's a bad move

[00:55:07] should they do it at all like can they get away with it like what if barrett is evicting him anyway like that could be happening it is so maybe they should talk to barrett well they can't just ask him outright then he'll know what they're thinking so you know what I don't know he says listen my intuition is telling me vote out devins it's telling me we need to and and they ultimately Angela says okay

[00:55:37] I'm down and the plan becomes for now they're both just gonna vote out devins a unanimous vote against the person who volunteered for the block this season is special in so many ways Karen I mean I again D's logic when you look into her brain I truly think she's falling victim to something that happens with a lot of people

[00:56:21] that comes from these games is that not everyone thinks the same way as you I think D feels like she is playing in a house of deeds and she certainly is not and so she feels like I gotta get them before they get me what has you mentioned devins does not want to get her anytime soon and maybe this is again something she had fermenting in her head for a while she did do that cam talk last week when she confirmed she's not going to the end with Angela and devins but that's the thing we talk about new era

[00:56:50] survivor being a game of timing big brother is that on steroids and taking out this guy at the final nine I don't think it matters is going to be a bitter juror or not that's neither here nor there it is actively taking out somebody who would have gone to the end with you one of your most you know worthy assets and you are selling it off right

[00:57:28] however think all of that goes unsaid but we've said it plenty already however there is something interesting to look at here when it comes to the reality of the situation a reality that is unknown to them and not a part of their decision making but the fact is Devons is going to be voted out regardless and so the reality of this situation is that if Dee and Angela do flip and this becomes a unanimous vote it does kind of change the

[00:57:57] calculation a little bit and it might actually be a net positive for them because they have already talked about the different things they might say to explain their vote away and this whole notion of we need to take out the icons because they're a united force if they end up voting devons out it's like well they weren't a united force I guess and you know and also it kind of takes the move away from Barrett a little bit

[00:58:27] it's not Barrett's move anymore if anything everyone's more surprised that Dee and Angela did it and it might be looked at as Angela and Dee's move and that might be good for Barrett in the short term maybe because maybe they do look at them maybe they weren't as much of our enemies as we thought maybe for somebody like Lala who always wanted to work with Dee and Angela and didn't want to work with Devins

[00:58:57] is like oh you really were willing to take Devins out there are a lot of different options here there are different possibilities for what implications this might have on the rest of the house moving forward especially when it comes to Drew and where does Drew stand in all of it because there's absolutely a world where I think that they can say to both Drew and Barrett like hey Devins was not loyal to you guys

[00:59:27] we thought he was playing both sides between us and you and we wanted to make this move and Barrett clearly you thought the same and this is the key part of it right because Barrett right now is already thinking about maybe next week I need to be looking at Yash but the thing getting in the way of that

[01:00:07] again a terrible idea in my opinion for Dee and Angela to do if Barrett were still with them it actually might work out for them because he's not yeah I think it's a good point to make that if it feels like whether intentional or not the idea that this is not necessarily Barrett's move can help a lot I think that removes a possible point that Barrett could make in a final

[01:00:37] the way it comes across to the Lala Taylor Yash even Melody contingent is like Barrett said he wasn't with the icons but how do you think Angela and D found out about the

[01:01:07] very very very funny if Drew is getting ready for a tie 3-3 vote getting ready to stand up there and save Devins and then it's by a vote of 6-0 in which everyone is blindsided in some way shape or form every single person in that house would have no idea how that happened so Taylor talked to Barrett while D

[01:01:37] she's wondering if she has the votes against Lala he's telling her as far as he's aware the plan is to vote out Lala if Devins wins again this is true but we

[01:02:07] has never gone into Thursday night on the block in a spot where she was in any danger according to Chuck he couldn't get advice from Taylor about surviving no no no no no no of course not that would be that

[01:02:39] not quite so so it'll I think Taylor will be on top of this she will be making sure her votes are locked in and but again it makes a lot of sense for certainly Angela and potentially Dee to want Taylor out over Lala because they could potentially pull Lala in a little bit so stay tuned for that Drew and Melody then basically spend the rest of the night together

[01:03:09] and it's like a lot of time because everyone else is going to bed relatively early it's worth pointing out Drew throughout the day is so tired yeah you know this is not quite Morgan and Vince levels like up until 6am but they're up until like 3am almost every single night and Drew is like literally falling asleep in that conversation where he was talking to Barrett about

[01:03:37] are you proud of your game and all that stuff he falls asleep during that conversation like in the middle not a great sign for Barrett as well being like this guy can't even stay awake when I'm trying to talk game with him he really can't the guy looks ragged and like even worse than I do do

[01:04:26] so and little little of game thrown in here and there as well including Mike you brought this up the melody says you know she's like saying opinions she says I think an icon that makes it to the end wins automatically and Drew who has previously said he does not agree with this says unfortunately I agree but it could be the opposite and she says nah everyone I've talked

[01:04:56] this is I think a read that Drew had for a while in the game we've already I've mentioned that it felt like he'd been sort of turning away from that thought process I think this is even more confirmation that instead of just immediately disagreeing he says actually unfortunately I think I agree with that even though he still holds out hope that it's not true and then she says I've more

[01:05:26] at least a little bit more and then they continue they get very flirty there's a lot of subtle or not subtle sort of asks for things as subtle as the train that hit Becky from BB17 in terms of these stairs there's certainly stairs there's arm writing there's miming of things like you know

[01:05:55] what do you think maybe not on camera kind of vibes and they talk about how Lala made this comment about how she's gonna stay up in the HOH room overnight and she was like no I don't do that I haven't done that but now she kind of like wants to stay he's like oh I don't know if that's like a good idea I think that it's not the right move for the game and she's like oh it's

[01:06:25] you're forcing me to leave and he's like no it's just I don't know if it's the right move for the game she's like okay he's kicking me I'm just gonna tell them I stayed the night up here anyway and he's like no and they're you know they're playing around but it's yeah it's a whole thing

[01:06:55] mints right now but we could see a situation where these conversations continue when you have the privacy of this bedroom we only have what two more nights of Drew's tenure right now in the HOH room if the two of them continue to stay up there I have no idea where this is going to go truly if another seven days are added on to this day yeah I mean it's it's a lot of the same but it definitely progresses night by night bit by bit

[01:07:25] and it's again it's exactly why I was saying what I was saying earlier with Barrett like I do think that despite the fact that Barrett has certainly won her over in the game more than Drew and she's still quite annoyed with Drew and they continue like the amount of times she's admonished him for voting out Mallory is just through the roof at this point but I think over time as they get closer as the game reasons to not be working with each other continue to diminish I think that this will continue

[01:07:55] to become a thing and they could become dangerous if Melody starts actually winning things which she's come close a couple of times now too we could start to look at Drew and Melody as a big threat moving forward in the game especially if people like Barrett are actually willing to vote for her in a final two you know you've got Yash as like a sort of solo comp threat not that he's solo he's got Lala and Taylor you've got the icons

[01:08:24] but we've also seen showmances comp their way to the end these two haven't shown that much capability but you always have to be worried about a showmance this deep so something to look out for as well yeah absolutely they're not going deep in one way but they may go deep in the competition depending on how things are going so that's about what I've got for you today Mike anything else you wanted to bring up from yesterday two quick pieces of

[01:08:54] thought here Taryn that I want to bring up one of them being something that I brought up a couple of days ago I did some compilation of stats about the last people to get nominated every season on Big Brother and what is interesting is that Big Brother 28 of course the last person nominated was Devins at the final nine that is the second earliest round in Big Brother history the first is Big Brother 24 so those were extenuating

[01:09:24] circumstances of course the festi besti twist created an unnatural diversity in nominees early on and I'd say there aren't special circumstances here in terms of you know obviously the blockbuster creating a third nominee every week the diamond power of veto I don't know even if Kama was still in the game at PB up at this point but I'm curious from your perspective what does that say about this season that already at the final nine all 17 people have seen the block at some point I mean I think it's I think it does speak largely to the

[01:09:53] blockbuster and how many nominees the blockbuster produces and how often the blockbuster encourages the veto to be used but I think another thing about this season that has been very very nice that we haven't talked a lot about yet is the diversity in HOH winners there's only been one repeat HOH winner in the entire season so far we are in on week eight and every single HOH has been a different

[01:10:23] person and that speaks very highly to the competition spread and the competitor you know the contestant the cast that they picked it's you know Lala winning the wall Drew winning this quiz Kamu winning a quiz Yash winning his competition Devins like everybody almost everybody has won in HOH at this point only Taylor and Melody now

[01:10:53] and I guess Angela hasn't won this season yet she just won the blockbuster so three people of the final nine have not won yet but but almost every other HOH has been the same and if Mallory or Barrett hadn't thrown the balance beam then there wouldn't have even been a repeat HOH that week so I think that's a huge huge component of it and even though we have seen one alliance and one group largely stay

[01:11:22] in power through all of these HOH wins I think that that's largely because Diamond Power Vito helped save them and number two they haven't really been able to hold on to this power very much Devon's about to potentially be evicted and there has been an interesting mix of back and forth and shifting targets so I think it's been

[01:11:52] interesting I know that certainly with the stock wash ratings that we do people are relatively down I think on the season but I do think it's been quite interesting and I think that if it weren't for sort of like the stink of the vets and the Diamond Power Vito and the dumb medieval twist I think we'd probably be looking at the season a little more favorably in terms of the spread and evenness of

[01:12:21] competition wins and let's say that we don't get the outcome that we deserve as BB fans and Devins wins the blockbuster how much toothpaste can be put back in the tube at this point do you think that D and Angela specifically would still lock in with him or are the paranoid thoughts building enough in their heads to make them feel like he's got to get cut sooner rather than later

[01:12:53] I tube I think Barrett pretends I think they pretend I think nobody Barrett doesn't know that they were going to do it they don't know that Barrett was going to do it and Devins doesn't know that

[01:13:30] if D won another HOH she nominates Yash and whoever remains of Lala and Taylor and then Melody we need a replacement nominee one of them has won the veto are we taking out Melody maybe she's connected to Drew that could certainly be an option are we taking out Lala or Taylor probably not at that point we've already taken out one of Lala or Taylor we don't need to take out the other if Yash is available maybe but he can't

[01:14:00] nominate us and who's the replacement is it Drew just to make sure that Melody goes is it Barrett because we don't trust him as much or do we take the shot at Devins you know I don't think they would I think they'd consider it but I know but the fact that people came so close to getting it done

[01:14:30] I think they will want to have it done at some point but long answer short here I think the toothpaste goes back in the tube well I repeat Devins come on you know the script at this point yeah

[01:15:00] all right well that is what we have for you then today thank you all so much for joining us of course I'll be back tomorrow morning tomorrow morning we might actually be check out my patreon I watched the love island reunion

[01:15:29] yesterday and posted on there that was a mistake nobody needed to watch that but you could watch me watch it in misery so you could try that and then we've got an episode tonight I'll be live on patreon twitch and youtube watching it tonight and there'll be a podcast here afterward as well so stay tuned for that Mike what do you got going on I'll tease two things here one big brother related

[01:15:59] one not I'll start with the more diverted path first survivor 51 just released its cast last last last I did not do preseason interviews this time around so I am trying to piece things together on my end but myself and Rob are doing weekly cast previews I actually think at the time this is

[01:16:35] on survivor which is coming back actually Barrett shouted out Daniel Kilby who is one of the contestants on survivor 51 yesterday I don't know if he thought he was spoiling it but luckily his identity has already been revealed but the big brother stuff that I will tease is that of course Taryn as you mentioned we'll both have an interview with Haley tomorrow morning we'll finally get to see the demise of thog tonight in the two hour episode

[01:17:13] I in general if you don't know exit press for the jury works a little differently than pre-jury in pre-jury we talk to them face to face over zoom where we're able to talk to them about stuff they did not know we do exit press with the jury under the express disclaimer that we are not allowed to ask them anything that happened in the game that they don't know about or maybe even things from the outside world that

[01:17:42] might influence their opinion one way or the other if CBS feels like any questions that we send in because we send in questions to be asked on our behalf by you know producer someone from PR if CBS feels like any of those questions do fall in those buckets they reserve the right to screen those questions out so I know that certainly there are some things that need to be asked of some of these contestants that have made the jury and I would love to ask

[01:18:12] about that again I mentioned I love Rick Devins before but that's not to say I'm not going to hold him and other people are not accountable for some things that have been said in the house but I want to warn people that just because we ask those questions initially does not necessarily mean those questions may make their way to the house guest ears proper again I

[01:18:49] that is what we have for you then today thank you all so much for joining us and I will see all of you next time
