BB28 Unlocked Ep Recap, Week 9

[00:00:14] Hey, what's up everybody and welcome back again to Big Brother Unlocked here on RHAP. It's me your host Chappelle and with me this week to talk about all the things that they talked about on Big Brother Unlocked for the first time in a very long time. It's Jacob Jones. Jacob Jones welcome.

[00:00:34] I feel like I'm home with you. I feel like I can relax, take my shoes off, wear my socks around the house, you're gonna have the drink poured over to the left and I'm going to be here. And I want to tell you Chappelle, this was my first episode of watching Unlocked. Hey, so happy first episode to Jacob Jones y'all. Everybody give a shout out to Jacob for his first episode and for this first episode Jacob we should really celebrate.

[00:01:02] By getting into some of the stuff that they've been talking about on this episode. So since this was your first one, tell me what did you think about Big Brother Unlocked? I thought that Jerry O'Connell, I haven't seen Jerry O'Connell since Kangaroo Jack. Jerry O'Connell kind of fine. Jacob, I was kind of. All right. We are not here for you to lust over Jerry O'Connell. I was like, this Jerry O'Connell from.

[00:01:32] This that there. I haven't seen him from Kangaroo Jack. So you feel it? Yeah, he feeling it. And Taylor Taylor looked amazing. Always flawless always. I like the sports jacket from Derek as well. But I actually thought it was more of a key than I went into it thinking. I thought this was going to be a kooky crazy show. Kooky campy. Kooky campy. What's another C word? Comedy.

[00:02:01] Comedy. I thought it really would, but it was kind of like more my speed of humor than I was expecting. And I really liked it a lot. OK, yeah. Well, I'm glad you're enjoying it because we have been doing this since week one of this show. But, you know, we only do unlocked every other episode. So we're not exactly celebrating the same amount of unlocked episodes as they are. But I guess if you count the season prior and this season, I guess we're up to 10 unlocked unlocks as well. So I'm glad to be here.

[00:02:30] Yeah, no, I'm glad you could be here to celebrate this with me, Jacob, because, you know, we've been podcasting together for a very long time, but I don't get to talk to you often. And so I was able to go back and I wanted to really bring back some of our old memories from when you and I first started podcasting. And so Sam has a clip ready from way back in the year of our Lord, 2021, when Jacob Jones and I, I believe our first podcast appearance ever.

[00:02:56] So Sam, if you could go ahead and cue that up for us. This is a bulldog. Jacob, Jacob had sat in his laps. OK, he was all in their damn conversation. I said, Jacob, can I say mouth? Get out of their mouth. We didn't even get through the dough good. And he about I seen the boy knees buckling. I said, what's wrong with you? He said, it's Elena. I said, Elena, who? Who the hell is Elena? I did not do that for Elena. I did not do that for Elena. He did. He did. He did.

[00:03:23] I know Brittany in the YouTube chat probably said, yes, he did. Yeah. So Jacob Jones, do you remember when we went to the celebrity Netflix boxing way back when and we got to come back and talk about it on? I think it was the slot. I feel like we were the first big brother on lot. Yeah, originally. Yeah. On location. On location in the field. So big brother. I'm like, y'all need to pay credit where credit is that we.

[00:03:52] We we we saw the big brother contestants and we at we saw them in real life and in person. And so not behind those screens, not on these screens, but we saw them live and in person. And I felt that was the moment that I felt bonded to you. Oh, yeah. Yeah, that was good. That was a good moment. Yeah, we've been tied together ever since then, Jacob. But that brings me to where I want to start this conversation.

[00:04:14] So there's been a lot of talk this season about Barrett and drew and working with the icons and what you should do and what you shouldn't do. And in these this episode, we really saw how it looks like the fandom is kind of like, hey, we should be targeting icons. Now, I was with you at that big brother boxing event and I saw your knees buckle for Elena from big brother 19. Embarrassing me.

[00:04:39] I saw you acting a fool over the most random contestants. And so for my question for you, Jacob Jones, is if you were in the big brother house, would you work with the icons? No, because I don't even prefer the icons as reality icons. And it's hard for me to even say icons, to be honest. And I hate to be a person. CBS, big brother casting, y'all doing an amazing job. But I just personally, I don't know if I would refer to Angela as a big brother icon. I don't know if I would.

[00:05:09] Oh, no, not just a big brother icon, a reality TV icon. And so, no, I would not be fangirling over D. I would not be fangirling over Devin's. I would not be fangirling over Angela. The people that I would be fangirling is Devon. The people that I would be fangirling is Daniel Reyes. The people that I would be fangirling is Dr. Will. Oh, doctor. If I'm ever in a space, a place with Dr. Will, I'm falling off the bone.

[00:05:36] So I would be like Barrett and Drew, but not anywhere else. Well, that's my question, Jacob. So you go into the big brother house. It's day one. You're excited to play. You walk in and you see Devon, Tiffany Mitchell, and Daniel Reyes right there. And they say, Jacob, we're running this thing to the end. What are you going to do? Yes, ma'am. And tell me what way to turn, how to speak, who to speak to, what to do, what to win, what don't to win, what not to say, how to act, how to walk, how to piss, how to do everything.

[00:06:07] Honestly, I really wish I could judge you. But we saw Sari in the house a couple of seasons ago. And I'm going to go ahead and tell you, I would have been no cake. Hey, whatever you want, mama. That is all you. And so I think it's a lot easier said than done to target these icons, especially if you're a big fan of the show. And we saw a lot of our past Big Brother icons as they were celebrating the thousandth episode. We saw intern Andy get to go to the thousandth episode. What did you think? Because I wasn't with you in Wisconsin.

[00:06:35] What did you think about the thousandth episode celebration? I loved it. I wish that more recognition was given to the Quack Pack as alliance. Not the Quack Pack. Quack, quack, quack, quack, quack. Yeah. They're one of my favorite alliances on my favorite season. So I wish that. I love seeing Dan get his flowers. Best to never win. We all know who that should have went to. But I digress. Give, you know, give Janelle her flowers that they already gave to her about a hundred times and definitely well-deserved as well.

[00:07:03] But I loved it though. I, well, I like seeing the Big Brother community come together. They're in a kooky, cool sort of way. And it's very nostalgic. We saw people back from Big Brother 2 that was in the audience when, you know, people identified them on Twitter and things like that. I thought the montages were super cute. I love the cookout moment. I think they did well for the thousandth episode. And I love the Julie flashback. I love seeing her different hairdos. And it was cute.

[00:07:32] Especially being a Big Brother player, a fan. Like I've been for many years. And I started like my first season watching was season 12. And so to see even beyond, and then I went beyond that, you know, I started watching quirky dude on YouTube. So I was kind of vangirling. Definitely. Yeah. So we saw intern Andy, AKA Cody Calafiore's accent coach, you know, going in and really getting to interview some of these Big Brother contestants about what they thought about Unlocked. I don't really care about what they were saying about Unlocked specifically.

[00:08:02] But Jacob, was there anybody who stood out that intern Andy got to go talk to? Because I think I yelled when I saw Taylor talking to the genius. Cause why, where did they find Jen? I know. I was kind of gagged for that, but you want to know what I was really gagged at? Jose not knowing the name of the show. Yeah, for real. Uh, look behind you. Big Brother Unlocked. Like that was like, that was the key for me. Um, I like seeing different Big Brother players from different seasons.

[00:08:31] Uh, I wish they would have had a camera on Vince. Cause I like, he's been kind of in my industry a little bit of time. So it would have been nice to hear from him, but I loved it. I really did. Yeah. We saw some big names. Uh, Leah was there too. Uh, Caitlin Herman, Quinn, uh, Joseph, Blue Kim. We saw Riley. Of course you mentioned Jose and Cliff Hogg as well. So, you know, yeah. Some people who, you know, we, we watch so closely on the live feeds and watching the shows and the recaps and all that kind of stuff.

[00:09:00] So you really do feel connected with some of these people, even though I know they are insane. And so, uh, it is, it's fun to see them, but at the same time, like I like my big brother characters in the TV screen. You know what I'm saying? Same Chappelle. And I think that's the thing about big brother. I feel like it's hard to really continue following them outside of the show. I only like how they acted on the show. I don't really care about their lives outside of it. Like on Instagram, I'm not following many big brother players.

[00:09:26] Um, and I mean, this is really a shame because it's kind of like the love island effect, how you follow these people and you watch them for up to three months at a time. And like, they kind of just evaporate after that, like a thought. And, um, but you know, this was nice bringing them all back. And I wish that Dr. Will was there. I really wish that Dr. Will was there. I really do. Right. Uh, yeah. I don't know where Dr. Will is, but I mean, I feel like this show doesn't really work without him having some type of, you know, type of pedestal.

[00:09:55] You're going to have to just like give him his flowers for really helping make this show, you know, what it is today. Um, but to your point, we did see Dan Giesling, uh, not exactly on unlocked, but kind of on unlocked. I would say so, you know, I have a signed copy of Dan's book. He wrote a book many years ago. It was called something to the effect of clean my own mirror. I know Taryn, you, you said that.

[00:10:21] And then I, last time I heard you talk about this and I just, do you think Taryn stole Dan Giesling's book title? Wait. Okay. But the thing is, I need to see if that is actually Dan Giesling's book because my own, I may be getting it totally misconstrued. And I'm about to find out in 2.5. Oh, clean my own mirror. Oh yeah. So clean your own mirror six necessary duties to lead and influence people. So I'm right. So Dan had a book.

[00:10:48] And when I said that people were like, Taryn's book, I was like, no, I have a signed copy of this book. I don't have it anymore, but I want it on the contest. Um, Dan was my favorite winner from big brother. And I was excited to see him. I think he looks so amazing. I loved him in season 13. I loved him even more in season 10. I think Dan will always be a big brother staple just because of the game that he played so flawlessly and so boldly. And so in a different way than we've ever seen happen before. So if we couldn't get Dr. Will, I'm very happy that we got Dr.

[00:11:17] Will's prodigy, Dan Giesling. Yeah. I thought Dan was going to be a guest when they mentioned Dan at the very beginning of the episode. They said, Oh, we're going to have Dan Giesling. So I was very excited to see what he had to say. Uh, but Dan's still keeping it low key. We got the, it sounds like the first meeting ever between Derek and Dan. And there was a little bit of a hinting. What happens if they were to come back into the house? Do you think Jacob, there's any world where we see these two compete against each other and big brother?

[00:11:44] I do because obviously they're still showing up for big brother events. So I think like, I think, I think if, if the money is right for Dan to leave his family and not leave his family permanently, but for three months, I think he would take it. Um, Derek is a commentator, uh, a personality, a part of the big brother stratosphere. So I definitely see that. And I hope they do, but heads to the end. I don't want to see Dan and Derek being friends at all. I don't even want to see a hello. Good morning. Good night. Bye. I don't want to see no pleasantries between them. I want to see straight.

[00:12:16] I want to see straight, like guns drawn. We're ready for war. And so forget the friendliness, forget the, forget the relationship. I want to see war when I see them play. So Dan seemed like he was already geared to do that. It does sound like it, right? Like we've seen Dan play and say, Oh, I don't want to play. But then play. Um, but I don't know, Jacob, three months is a long time for grown ass people to be going and doing big brother. Like that's what I think that's part of the reason why we only get like so many older people every season is because a lot of people just.

[00:12:46] Ain't got time to be taken three months away from my real life, my family, my, you know, my job. Uh, and if they're going to both be coming back, you have to imagine maybe it's all winners. So maybe we get like a shorter, almost like celebrity, big brother season to where, you know, two and a half weeks, knock it out. See who, who comes out on top. I would like a month, um, shortest time span in the house. I would like a month, but also I completely agree with you. Even when I think about going on big brother, I'm like, dang, I really enjoy my life right now. And I enjoy my people.

[00:13:15] So taking three months outside of my normal cadence will be very harsh for me. But for $750,000, put me in that house, lock the doors and throw me in with whoever I'm leaving with that check in my wallet. Mm hmm. I can see that. Jacob, you're really good at these types of games. I don't know if the people are familiar with your work, but I am. And so I would love to see it. But I can't be stressed out watching you in the big brother house. I do have one more question, though, about this Dan segment.

[00:13:42] Um, so if you're watching an all winter season, just take all winners in consideration. Well, old and new. What do you think comes out the winner of that season? Who do I think comes out the winner of a big brother all winners season? I think a guy like Steve Moses comes out on top. Okay. Um, I think a person like I mean, Jordan Lloyd can potentially come out on top.

[00:14:10] So some under radar under the radar kind of people. I think so. A person like Maggie, because all the big personalities that were winners. I feel like at some point their egos are going to get involved and they're going to want to pick. Oh, this person is a bigger star than I am. And I think that's going to really let the people that are underrated come out on top. People saying Nicole F. I'm not really seeing it. Um, I think they would hate to let her get any more days in that big brother house than she already has. And she's one of the big dogs.

[00:14:37] And so I think that characters like Steve, characters like, um, even Maggie I see in the chat. Characters like Jordan I think can do kind of well in this sort of environment. Okay, I love talking to you about Big Brother because I know you've done your research. You are a Big Brother Superfan. And in this episode of Unlocked we spent a little time with Jay Moore, recent Big Brother Superfan. He said he started watching Jags season, aka Ceres season. Okay. And since then he's been hooked.

[00:16:36] Now, Jacob, do you think enough time has passed in this Big Brother fandom for him to really be considered a Superfan? Uh, no. No. And especially if he watched Jags season and then is now just, you know, or Ceres season as we like to call it, and is now just a Superfan. I don't believe so because this isn't even Pinnacle Big Brother. I think we are going, we're headed in the right direction because season 28 is putting it on the floor. Mm-hmm. Season 28 of Big Brother is putting it on the floor. So I think we're headed in the right direction.

[00:17:04] Let him have five more seasons. Let him get five more. I'll even say three more seasons. Um, and then we can call Jay Moore a Superfan. But nah, not now, shoddy. You can't get that title. I put in years of this. I put in stress of this. I put in tweeting on the Twitter street for this. So Jay Moore, just relax. You'll get that title when it's best bestowed upon you. But someone has to bestow that title on you. You can't just, oh, I'm a super fan. Mm, no, you can't bestow that title on yourself. I have to bestow it on you or someone else, but preferably me.

[00:17:34] Yeah, I think you gotta, you gotta get in the trenches, right? Like there's one thing to say. I watched the show. Cool. I watch the show and listen to podcasts. Fine. But until you in the trenches reading the updates, you know, and watching the clips and stuff like, Hey, that's when you know you're in too deep. Okay. When you're waiting all year to be disappointed by a show every single year. That's when you know you're a real super fan. I need to know what you think of Julie Chan's Bob. I need to know what you think of.

[00:18:02] I need to know what you think of season 14 in versus then if you think Ian was the real winner. I need to know what you think of big brother all stars the first iteration. I need to know. Do you think that they cast brother all stars the second iteration? Well, I need to know all these different things in order to call you a super fan. So Jay Moore just a, you know, but I will give you that title when I when I think it's due. Jay Moore. Yeah, it's those conversations in the trenches that you really remember, right?

[00:18:29] Like the little things that you know, you had to be there when Christine got booed. You know, I'm saying like it's just it's just those moments that you can't explain to the people who only watch the TV shows like no, you don't understand. You got to be there when people start doxing people and they call them people's jobs and stuff like that. It used to be real. No, no, you're right. And you also I need to if I say, oh, yeah, I have not competition.

[00:18:54] You need to know what that is instead of just like do a competition to determine that or a food challenge or however they used to have to write what like food items they want. So big brother, if you hear anything from this podcast here, this bring back the food challenge. I want to be able to write cabbage. I want to be able to write sausage. I want to be able to write smoked honey ham. I want to be able to write apple apple breaded bacon. I want to be able to write those sort of things on this thing. And if you don't know nothing about that, I'm sorry, Jay Moore.

[00:19:22] I'm going to start calling people that are casuals that love the show. Jay Moore's. Jay Moore's. They're new here. Yeah, they're new here. They love it. But you ain't getting that trenches title like I got. Well, I'll give Jay Moore some credit. You know, there was a lot of talk about Rick Devins this week. I believe he was voted the BB dumbass of the week. And as somebody who is a fan of Rick Devins from Survivor, I will tell you this. I've never been so disappointed in that man. Why would you vote nominate yourself to go on the block?

[00:19:51] And so Jay Moore actually said a classic Big Brother line. He said pawns go home and Jacob with the BB blockbuster. Pawns be surviving now. Pawns be surviving. And I wish it wasn't the case. I really do. I love the aspect that the Big Brother blockbuster. Oh, that's too many bees. BB is a lot. You got it. And you got to say the whole name. Big Brother. It's a mouthful. It's like Big Brother. I love the chance that it gives and the unpredictability of it all.

[00:20:19] But also it annoys the hell out of me because the conversations that were happening prior to that BBB. BBB. BBB. It's no more bees, right? Big Brother blockbuster. Four B's. BBBB. BBBB. BBBB. I was like, oh, all the work that was put in is now like, oh. And so I'm like, damn it. I it annoys me. I wanted to see Devin go home. I know you like them from Big Brother. I mean, from Survivor. I wasn't really watching it. Survivor like that.

[00:20:47] So when he came in here, I said, come on, come over here to these streets. Let's see how you do on the Big Brother streets. And damn it. He's doing well. But he did not make a smart decision and he deserved that title. But I mean, hey, he's not home. So he's a dumb ass that survived. He did survive. He said it's better to be lucky than good. And he was definitely lucky. OK, because, you know, some of these competitions, you can be really good at those competitions. But we've seen with people like Tucker and even, you know, even Kamu, where if it's the wrong competition on the wrong day, you could lose.

[00:21:17] And he was very close to losing that competition. And it would have him going home would have been his fault. Right. Because the icons have been playing a messy, messy game. And then to put yourself on the block and, you know, you was like you're asking the Big Brother Grim Reaper to come through and just snatch you out the game. Yeah. And it's a little bit being a little bit overly confident and just your allies. And but it's it's also you wanting to.

[00:21:43] And I don't know a better way to say it, but like, you know, you know, me and like, all right, who has the who has the biggest you're in the locker room? Oh, you think it's a pissing contest. You know, you know, things out. Let me with my thing. I hate it. I hate it on the table. Basically, I think he put it on the table and he stayed. So it was big. Oh, yeah. I don't know. I don't know what's going on. I don't know what's going on. Let's move on to that. But congrats to Rick Devens for surviving. And I did not like it.

[00:22:12] I wanted to see both Lala and Taylor stay. But things happen. Yeah, it was really tough to watch the unedited or the unaired footage where we see Rick Devens and D sitting around like, you know, maybe it wasn't the best idea for me to put myself on the block. Like what if Barrett just, hey, these are all good conversations to have had before you nominated yourself to go on the block because it looked like Drew would have been fine putting up Melody. He would have been fine putting up D.

[00:22:39] So for Devens to sit there and put himself in the line of fire all the while, not really trusting Barrett altogether. It was just a sloppy move. And so, yeah, he definitely gets to wear the BB dumb ass of the week crown for me. Also, when they showed the clip of the icon saying to Barrett, singling him out in front of the room of the rest of the Alliance being like, so Barrett, I'm nervous about you.

[00:23:05] I would have told Devens, Devens, shove it where the good Lord does not let light shine. Why are you questioning me in front of people that I'm, I'm suspecting we all trust in singling me. I would have just gotten so pissed. But that's how the that's how I must say something crazy. But Angela said it and you know how she compared the she compared the Alliance of the cookout. She got to stop that. She got to stop that.

[00:23:31] But Jacob, did you catch in a thousandth episode where Julie was like, why am I not in the cookout group chat? Babes, babes, Julie. Babes, that's, that's not how this works, sweetie. That's not it. Julie, we're going to give you a plate of ribs and we're going to bring you a plate. And in the car, you stay in the car. Right by the driveway. Right. Exactly. Like I'll save you a plate, Jules, but you can't come and you can't be in the group chat. No. And I'm letting you get one picture just because I like you. Yeah, just it.

[00:24:02] Just that's it off the strength. But, but everybody can't be there. And so, yeah, I've, I've been enjoying kind of watching the way this season's going. Like, I agree with you. I know a lot of people haven't been enjoying it because they want to see the icons get their comeuppance. But I've been liking some of the blind sides we've had this season. The Kamu boot was crazy. The wrong blind side was good. You know, there's been a, there have been a few moments, right? The Angela winning that blockbuster just inject that into my veins every day.

[00:24:27] Because those are the moments that kind of remind me about, you know, why I really do enjoy Big Brother. Wait, Angela winning the blockbuster put life into your veins? Did you, the way she won that challenge and I, they thought her, they thought Granny didn't have it in her. She got thog on one. Was it thog and Kamu at the same time? She got two challenge beats next to her. Yeah. And look, she cooked. Jacob, give her things. All right, Angela, have it. Jacob said, here, damn. Here, damn.

[00:24:57] Take it, Angela. Okay. She ate that one little thing. It's okay. You know what? I was, I was more so wanting Kamu to stay, but you know what? Angela did. Angela did do it. You know, I guess so. Yeah. So the BB dumbass of the week was Devin's because of this crazy move. But last time's BB dumbass was Yash. And now this week he is the BB badass. What have you been thinking about Yash's game so far? I love it. I want to inject it into my veins.

[00:25:26] I want Yash to narrate the entire season. Yash's DRs are incredible. Yash's competition wins are nice. Yash's social ability is so nice. And so I'm here for anything, Yash. And if you have anything to say, come to me in my DMs. Cause I'm, I'm, I'm defending him. I'm defending him over here. So yeah. If you, if you like Yash put some Kiwis in Jacob's DMs, right? Ooh, what are, is Yash is an Australian? No, but I think that was the fruit he was asking for in his DMs.

[00:25:55] I think Kamu was asking for coconuts and I think Yash was asking for Kiwis. You're right. So, you know, hit Jacob's DMs. Hit me with some Kiwis and some love and some hearts and some, whatever you want to talk about too. Okay. Keep it juicy. Keep it juicy. Jacob, please. You had mentioned Angela a little bit earlier in her interactions with Rick Devins. Um, what did you think about that phone call that they had, uh, where it looked like Devins

[00:26:22] was, uh, the principal and he was calling Angela who was at home and Angela has a bad child named Drew and Drew's been doing some naughty things. And then Devins is doing some naughty things with his secretary. Uh, I didn't know Angela was into role play. I know Chappelle. I kind of was like, this seems like a little scripted tease. Like why is it? My son has been a naughty boy. Okay. Miss Murray. Yeah.

[00:26:53] He was in the girl's locker room under the, okay. I thought it was funny though. I did. I thought it was a little bit comedic relief and it's a side of Angela that I typically don't see her being silly, goofy, having fun. And I kind of enjoyed it. Boo Angela. And Drew sitting there like what? You guys are crazy. No, the dude. Cause that's what you was probably doing up in high school. It wasn't that long ago either. He's what? 22, 23. So it has been like four years ago. He's a baby. So he probably was a little horny boy. Horny toe. Freaky frog. Freaky.

[00:27:22] Freaky frogs. No, it's a lot of freaky frogs in that house. Cause that Angela story was getting wilder and wilder. Uh, Jacob, you, you a fan of role play. Um, I am. Oh yeah. Because I think there was some question about whether or not Melody and Drew both had a significant other back at home. But, uh, you know, you saw in the Zingbot episode, uh, Drew might be falling off the bone right now because him and Melody, they haven't even kissed. I know, which I think is so weird. Like we're grownups. Stop flirting in my face and put your lips on my, like, what are we doing? Like we grownups. We can only flirt for so long. Chappelle.

[00:29:16] I can only call you cute, crack jokes, smile at you, licking your eyes before I want a little kid. But I guess restraint and discipline. Good on them. Jacob, a lot of the contestants, the past contestants we saw in this episode, including Taylor Hale,

[00:30:14] were really rooting against the idea that a survivor player could win this game. Now I already told you, as far as I'm concerned, if Sari wants to win this game two times, three times, four times, I'm all in. But how do you feel as, I feel like you're primarily a big brother fan. Uh, and then like a survivor, like a survivor extra fan, you know what I'm saying? Like a little bit on the side. So. How do you feel about survivors coming and playing big brother? I don't like it. I want you to ban them. I don't want to see no more. I want you to ban them immediately coming on our turf and owning the game.

[00:30:44] And the big brother contestants are now just waking up to it, but they've been letting them run amok for how many weeks? Nine weeks. Chappelle. They've been letting them run up and down the staircase for nine weeks. Ban them immediately. Jeff probes. I wanted Devins to go to help Jeff probes do the podcast again. That's what I wanted. I said, Devins, you need to go. Jeff probes. Once you over there on the mic, get on the hot mic. I'm tired of it. And I hate that they're succeeding. I really do. But it is what it is.

[00:31:12] How do you feel about big brother players going to play survivor? We've seen a Hayden Moss play survivor. We've seen beast boy cowboy. Anybody from these recent seasons of big brother. Did you think you would see on survivor? Um, Chappelle. I know the don't. What? No, I don't know. Don't go on survivor. Like don't go on there. The game play. I think is so much more hardcore on survivor. Big brother in some ways gives you a little bit more time.

[00:31:41] Let's you ease into things big survivors like boom, boom, boom, boom. And if you cannot take out two survivor players and it's only two of them and y'all acting, y'all acting shy. Y'all, y'all acting fan girl. Y'all acting, boo, boo, boo. I don't trust you on that island. I don't trust anyone that is not going to put a survivor player up the first week to ever go on their island because they're going to get old and I'm gonna be looking like I'm not a big brother fan because they're getting they're getting Molly walked in there. I don't want to see it ban them from each show.

[00:32:06] Keep them on their own show and let them have a fair game because obviously it's it's it's an intersection that has been crossed and survivor is whooping our asses. Yeah, it's not looking great right now. You know, I'm saying sorry came in barely knowing what to do in big brother and just cooked, you know, she got very far if it wasn't for some of these physical competitions. We could probably could have seen a different winner that season. She also had, you know, some ups and downs with her built in alliance with her son being in the house, but she did relatively well.

[00:32:35] And here we got three survivor players in the jury phase. Oh, two sorry, I was in the jury fans and one returning big brother player that I know you're very happy to see here. And so, Jacob, are you happy to see it? Okay, I'm gonna assume you're not.

[00:32:57] So we did get a little bit of the fallout of the after the eviction just showing the people's reaction to Lala going out. There were tears, of course, Angela crying because that's what she does. But we also saw Taylor, who was understandably disappointed. You know, this was her rock in the game and she is no longer there with her. What do you think about Taylor's, you know, prospects in the game now that like Lala is gone?

[00:33:23] Jerry O'Connell said, well, maybe or I think it was Jay Moore said maybe without Lala Taylor's game can advance a little bit more. She doesn't have to worry about her partner in crime. But what do you think? I don't think I don't think it'll make a difference. I think the one thing Taylor cannot do and she only did once and you know, we have a we have some more weeks left in us is we haven't really seen her win a competition window. Like we the perfect way she was about to but she didn't win it.

[00:33:49] And so I don't know if she is not able to will her power and to put people up if her game really changes. I think that people think that, oh, Taylor's not going to win anything. And so we can kind of take her as far as we want to. I think the social ties that she has right now will be the social ties that she has throughout the entire rest of the game. And so I don't see like Devins or D or Angela drawing closer to Taylor at this time. But I just hope that Taylor can win a competition.

[00:34:17] I want to. I like Taylor Taylor is one of my favorite personalities players this season. And I just think that the relationships that she's already built will probably sustain. And I don't know if that much will be changing, to be honest, but we can hope. But I don't see I don't see much changing in her game. Were you keeping up with the feeds this week leading up to the Taylor Devins and Lala? I was. I was. I was. I was. Jacob, before the episode aired or during the episode, I think I put on Blue Sky.

[00:34:46] Hey, if Devin was a blockbuster, who's going home? And nobody was really on the same page. Some people were saying Taylor. Some people were saying Lala. Were you surprised that it was Lala who got eliminated this episode? No, I wasn't because I think Taylor had stronger ties to the people. And I think people really messed with Lala because of her closeness to Taylor. And just through proxy, I wasn't surprised at that.

[00:35:10] But I knew there were talk about Taylor possibly leaving and Yash being a contributing voice in that sentiment, which so very much so surprised me. But if I'm Yash, a person that does win competitions, I want another person that does win competitions. And that person that does win competitions is Lala. And so I completely understand the weighing both options. Ultimately, it didn't come to be because Taylor's still in the game. And I don't like I'm trying to see who would have done better between the two.

[00:35:39] I really think that Lala could have potentially kind of like coasted to the end versus Taylor has a little bit more friction to get to the end. And so I don't know. I don't know, Chappelle. You know, after the the elimination of the eviction, normally the people are able to come on unlocked, but we don't get to see Lala on unlocked this week because she's in the jury house. So we don't get to give her any additional information or get to hear from her too much.

[00:36:06] But we did see kind of the liberations between, you know, why you would pick Taylor and why you would pick Lala. I think it was Melody who says keeping Lala around is good because she's a good competitor and she would have a big target. And she says that if you sit next to Taylor on the block, you'll probably go home. And so you want to keep Lala around. Well, to that, I say, well, tell that to Lala because she sat next to Taylor on the block and she's the one who went home. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:36:28] So I think depending on how you feel the day of this season, it really feels like Thursday is the day when most of the big decisions are getting locked in. I mean, that's what the big brother blockbuster introduces, though. I said that right. Right. You got the block. But OK, yeah, you did it. That's what the big brother blockbuster introduced. It really introduces the Thursday anxiety. It's like we the house could be targeting somebody, but all they need to do is get one ball in a hole and then they say for them and everybody's jaw is dropped and gag and have to now.

[00:36:58] We evaluate their strategy and their method into voting in real time. And I think that adds to the excitement. But that also adds to the letdown expectations that I be having going into Thursday night and where I be thinking shit's gonna shake and it don't shake. And I'm paying. Do you have a one contestant that you are rooting for the most this season? I have to I'm you I'm rooting for Yash and Taylor, to be honest, and Barry now that he you know, he's not dangling Devin's dingleberries.

[00:37:27] I like the separation and I like what you know, I like him being. I don't know how much we can spoil. Can I say we can't spoil anything yet? OK, work. So I Yash Taylor and Barry. OK, yeah, I think those are all great picks. I you know, honestly, I think at this point anybody winning this season would be interesting, you know, because like, you know, imagining Angela in the final two and actually winning like who did she sit by and how did she get there? You know, I think I could say that for a lot of these people.

[00:37:57] And so, yeah, I'm very excited for this end game and just kind of seeing how things play out. I remember there was this one moment in the episode. I think they were talking about. Oh, yeah, it was the the annoying things that people do in the house. And it got me thinking, Jacob, that I would be awful at this game because the noises. I'm voting you out. I'm voting you out because of the noises, Jacob. I look the mouth noises, the Yash knows noise.

[00:38:26] The hey, Chappelle's gone. I'm either going the first week or you're going next. You know, I would that would be my whole hit list. I don't I don't care if you put me on the block or not. If I can't sleep through the night because you yelling Chuck's name in your sleep. I'm out of here. Yeah, Chappelle. I think you would be annoyed at me because I've been told that subconsciously I like moan a little bit as I'm doing not like a nasty, like inappropriate moment, but just like. Mm hmm. Can you hear that?

[00:38:57] I can hear it. But why are you moaning for what I just randomly know when people tell me that I do that? I'm like, oh, wait, I do. And I never really recollect. I never really notice it. But I just kind of do that, I guess, when I'm like in idle time. So you just be moaning. Well, it's not like a hardcore moan. It's more like a hum. It's like a hum. It's like a hum. It's like a hum. It's like a hum. Hums and moans are different, Jacob. You got to specify. OK, OK. Yeah, I don't like I don't moan. I just hum.

But the fact that they can hear everything that's happening in that bathroom stall. Oh, no. No, sir. I'd be tearing the bathroom. Oh, I've stayed with you before, Jacob. I know. So you're going to hear some some you're going to hear some just noise. My stomach comes out of my comes out of my body when I'm on the toilet. So, yeah, you're right, Chappelle.

[00:39:54] But I think the thing that would irritate me the most is people not cleaning up after themselves. It's going to be two times I'm a walk around with a pan on the on the stove that has egg scrapings in it. And it's not being cleaned up because at some point I'm putting the eggs in your bed. It's going to be it's going to be, you know, yeah, Chappelle, people don't clean up after themselves. Clean up. I'm not your mama, nor your daddy, nor your grandma, nor your pappy. Clean up. Everyone pays their own bills here. Right. Everyone knows how to work the hand soap, the sponge and the water. Put it into action. So I think that will piss me off the most.

[00:40:24] And also, I'm not good with being around people that I have discourse with. OK, so you can't. So I don't think so. So you could. But Jacob, I always thought you would do good on one of these shows. I know you like games. No, I do. I just would have to if I have discourse with you, either we get it out of the we lay it on the floor and talk about it. I just cannot be in a house and have discourse with people.

[00:40:49] My I will be like so anxious because every time I'm moving around, I'm thinking that you got some smoke for me and I need that to be aired out. So unless it's aired out, we can move on from a new plan strategy. But I also think that could be my benefit, how I like to air things out if I have discourse with someone, too. But I just can't be in a house with someone that I have like bad blood with or something like it gives me anxiety. I need a piece where I lay my head. And if I don't have peace in the house, then somebody going to get it. Yeah.

[00:41:18] So if you heard somebody talking noise behind your back and it got back to you, you got us. You got to air it out right there. We call it a house meeting. I'm not sure. [00:45:38] I think it gets more people creating videos about them because they have the potential to be on Unlocked. And I think it shows that Big Brother has a very well and kind of provocative and funny sense of humor. They're laughing at the same things that we're laughing at. And so I definitely like it. I like seeing the tweets. Were they from Twitter or were they from like Blue Sky or like both? Did they specify? Oh, yeah. So I mean, I feel like I like this. I really didn't. I give credit to them and Big Brother Unlocked. Like even it was one video where people were reacting to what Jerry said about them being on drugs.

[00:46:08] And I thought that was a cute moment that CBS is kind of being a little bit adult. And you can mention like drugs on CBS. That was kind of like cool and like dumbass on CBS. And like I guess you could use that. But like having that as print on a Friday night show, I think it's super cool. And so I loved it. I love getting creators their credit and their platform. Yeah. You probably caught the segment with my play cousin from Deal or No Deal Island, Philip Solomon. I saw that. Yeah.

[00:48:02] Uh, telling, telling the whole world what she thought about the icons in the game. I think this was, uh, big brother going into the right direction. I think this season we are seeing more characters at play than I think we've seen in most recent years. That DR segment by Mallory was amazing spit being in her mouth. Getting lost. The emotions coming out. It was like, all of it was so amazing to me. Even Taylor's DMS are so funny to me.

[00:48:31] Yash's DMS, not DMS, DRs. I don't know what they DMS are looking like, but they're DRs. They're just so organic. Big brother is becoming organic again. And Mallory's diary room was the thing that they needed. Like, absolutely. I was here for it. I love those moments. Did you like, uh, Jason's drag Mallory? I did. And I feel like I saw Jason, um, at the gym the other day. I wouldn't be surprised. I think y'all are from the same neck of the woods. Yeah.

[00:49:01] Now you are. Yeah. Now we are. Yeah. Yeah. So, um, I, I loved it. I love Jason. I love Jason. Yeah. Every time we get to see a Jason segment, um, you know, I always laugh. That's again, those are, that's a real super fan. You know what I'm saying? So you kind of have to show love for when he pops up, um, we got some of the best moments of big brother unlocked as well. Uh, Jacob. Um, we saw Jerry wrestling Kamu. We saw Taylor twerking. We saw Jerry twerking.

[00:49:28] Um, and they end up saying that big brother locked is not as bad as we all thought it would be. Jacob, do you agree? Uh, because I think at first people had negative opinions, but this being your first episode, what do you think about the concept? I definitely think big brother unlocked is better than I would have ever thought by watching a full episode tonight. I really do. I want to give them their credit. I think CBS is on to something. And I think if they really be consistent with this and really push it, no matter who watches, no matter how many people watches, this could be a staple within the big brother

[00:49:58] community for years to come. And I think it's, it's, it's a fun show and it's a shady show. And I think the more shade they add to it, the better, the more moments of, um, true and authentic personalities that come out from Taylor, from Derek, from Jerry are that make it even better. And so I think big brother unlocked is really in its early days of launching off. And so shout out to them. Yeah, I agree. I've been here. I remember watching the first season and thinking like, Oh, okay, this is interesting. But now I think I'm really enjoying this, especially getting to talk to all of you all about it.

[00:50:27] Uh, because then I get to also see who they're talking to. I love the idea that they can bring, uh, you know, some of these past big brother contestants back to the forefront and let us really spend time with people who helped us fall in love with the game and the show. Um, so I want to see more of that. You know, like I said, we got a clips, a glimpse of the genius in this episode that gave me so much hope. I'm like, go back, get, get the legends that weren't necessarily good game players, but we still talking about them. Where is Jody? Where is Jody? Where is Jody? Where is Jody?

[00:50:57] What do we need to see? I mean, I guess. We gotta see Jody. We gotta see Jody. Especially, especially she wasn't at the 1000th episode. I feel like that's kind of a, I think that's kind of messed up. I feel like they definitely had to call her. Maybe Jody was busy, but I feel like, I mean, but Jody, I feel like after her first season, she was coming to everything. So I feel like she would not have been in the mix. Yes. Like who is that guy? Um, that made those fake accounts back in the day. Glenn, you remember Glenn? He was on. He made those like fake. So Joey Rodriguez. Yeah. I don't know why.

[00:51:27] I don't know why I brought that up. Because he used to be in the mix. I think it's a few people. He used to be in the mix. He used to be in the mix. Yeah. There's a few people that has been in the BB streets with us, whether they liked it or not. And I think those people are who we should really be celebrating. You know, I saw some people in that audience and I was like, I guess, but you know, it's those are the real icons. Jacob, the ones who, like I said, they weren't good, but they were there. Bring back LaJuan. You know what I'm saying? LaJuan was there, but I don't think he was on screen, but I think they had a person in the front seat with camo pants.

[00:51:56] And I think a denim shirt and I won't say names. I'm also nothing else. But if you come into a thousand anniversary with camo pants and a blue jean shirt. Oh my God. Pack it up. You never, you never, never, never, never, never see next to Alyssa. And Alyssa. Only person in camo. I want to see is Donnie. You know what I'm saying? So it's like, yeah, okay. Yeah. Right. Yeah. But that's, that's what I'm saying. So I like that we're celebrating big brothers. A thousandth episode. And I am a fan of big brother unlocked.

[00:52:23] So, uh, 10 episodes down 990 left to go. Uh, Jacob at the end of the episode, we did quick math, quick math, quick math. Jerry did the math for me. I just, I just didn't forget. Okay. Um, you know, me, the numbers got to go. And I said, look, if he said, it's all right. Um, HOH competition. We got a clip from the HOH competition. We saw the beginning of it. Um, this carnival game where you roll the ball, you have to make the balls match the colors.

[00:52:50] It's a leprechaun thing, a theme from the first St. Patrick's day parade. Um, so. Jacob, these competitions, these, to me, these are the ones that I think are a lot more fair than the run around, grab a heavy thing, put together a puzzle. Cause all you have to do is stand there. There's a little running, right? Like it's not the most, you know, like perfect competition for everybody. But I do think if you can figure out how to roll the ball, you have a good chance of winning this. And so, uh, what do you think about these types of competitions this late in the game?

[00:53:21] I'll be pissed. If I'm playing and I lose, I'm pissed. If I play and I lose, I'm destroying it. If I'm playing it and I lose, I'm calling unfairness and cheating. Um, but if I win it and I'm like, oh my God, this was so skillful. So it just depends on where I get in it. I, this late in the game when competitions really need to mean something, just throwing a little random something in it, I will piss me off just because I'm like, uh, skill, agility, mental, let that be. But this random stuff, it's, it can be frustrating.

[00:53:49] I think if I was here at this point, I missed the stay up all night competitions where you just like have to memorize something and you have to listen to the sounds. Uh, I miss, I don't think we do hide it. I don't think we do it anymore where we hide the, yeah. And I think every year the house guests are looking for that. Those were, that's one of the staples, right? It's like seeing by where you kind of have to have it. Uh, now we have BB comics. I don't think we've done that this season. We haven't done that this season, which is should be coming up. But I also, I feel like, oh, tomorrow, Saturday.

[00:54:19] So there is a veto competition. I maybe feel like tomorrow could be big brother comics. Okay. Slip and slide. Maybe. Slip and slide is typically HOH. Oh yeah, you're right. Yeah. Slip and slide is typically HOH. And so, um, I think it could be, um, comic. Let's, I mean, yeah, let's hope. Okay. [00:56:43] uh tell everybody what's been going on okay so i don't know are the nominees final the nominees are final wait okay so i haven't seen the final announcement i've just seen talk and he stick to the plan that he was going to do all right our hoh barrett has done the thing that nobody thought he would do uh he won hoh and he has stood 10 toes down and put the icons on the block all three

[00:57:07] icons are up and we got some drama right before the nominees uh ceremony because the icons are realizing that their goose was probably cooked they went to throw yash under the bus by talking about the bribe it got heated and for a split second we thought maybe barrett won't go through with it because the feeds cut right then but jacob he did it the icons are up what do you think big boy barrett made the big moves that the other were too afraid to do and i appreciate him for that

[00:57:35] the icons tried everything in their hand to get yash as a nominee barrett told angela i'm thinking all the icons angela's like no barrett no barrett how could you i love you nah angela go to the backyard and what angela did she immediately went to the backyard she told dd said what and also a little bit angela and devins got into a little little little moment but i don't know if it would stink because

[00:58:04] the icons were together and drew so they had a house meeting they had a house meeting and where they laid out the bribe that yash took where he can't put in up the icons yash lied a little bit and said no i can only put up d obviously he knows that he can't put up all the i now he knows that he can't put up the icons but i think long is to his that's benefited like you know i know he's just made with d but also something else that came out was drew let it be known that yash was one of the

[00:58:29] people pushing to keep lala instead of taylor and so that's something to look forward to look forward to see how that relationship goes from this point on because taylor was visibly upset was visibly bothered by that remark and that truth coming out so i don't think yash everything is out in in the big brother house no one really has a secret no path is unclear everyone knows what is going on

[00:58:52] and i think for players like melody for players like taylor for players like i guess barrett all of that can be good yash is in some deep shit but i think he can make it out and um i'm just excited to see all the icons icons icons icons right where they need to be line them up put them down one needs to leave immediately get them out ban them yeah it would be such such a fumble if for some reason

[00:59:21] one of the icons doesn't go this week but we've seen crazy things happen here on big brother i want to first a big shout out to my bloom uh barrett out here doing the lord's work um i have been calling this man a flop for weeks now and my flop king the bear rat he did it he did what needed to be done and i'm hoping that he can use his momentum to try to make a run for the end of the game because right now the icons obviously have had a lot of ups and downs but mostly because of their own bad

[00:59:50] gameplay they've been playing kind of reckless and now their chickens have come to roost you know pissing off barrett a couple weeks ago he's been praying for this moment for for weeks now you know he tried to get rid of one of y'all last week and y'all barely dodged the bullet there and so uh this is time where the uh people at the bottom can uprise a little bit and i think that's another part of the brother experience that you gotta love right the people at the top when they're winning it's cool but then when we get some shifts in the house when we get some some crazy unpredictable

[01:00:16] things that are happening that's when you really lock in on the game and so uh i'm very excited to see how this week goes and then what this means for future weeks um so uh yeah jacob um i don't know man who do you think is going to who did you say your winner pick is who do you think is gonna win so can i say this before i give you my winner pick yeah a thing that i love about reality tv and i

[01:00:40] think i love about big brother is you really just have to let it play out like at times of getting frustrated i remember um when i believe yash won the hoh and um kamu had to go up we kind of just had to let had to have that happen and then who won the hoh the next week uh was that the one i do i do you want to enjoy the next week who went home that week

[01:01:05] oh mallory i so i know there's a lot of pipe queen fans out there but i really am concerned with taylor with mallory i mean with taylor with yash and with um lala really at that point and they didn't go home so i was like okay yay and so you have to let things happen this week all three icons are up someone is going to win pob in less than 24 hours from now so we will have our answer so anyone else getting stressed out if the icon win or making sure all icons you know blah blah go have fun go

[01:01:33] touch grass and meet me back here um tomorrow on september 5th at 7 p.m pacific time and all worries will be at bay but i want taylor i will i just want taylor to do more i want her to be able to do more by winning a competition and by making a executive move i like yash to be honest i kind of like the underdog characters um and now barris has he really put his foot into the mud and really is standing in it

[01:01:57] give me a barrett win but um icons icons icons icons they can all go i'm not really looking for any of them yeah i think one part of the fandom is definitely um of being a part of this fandom is the doom and gloom when things aren't going our way you know we get very much into let's call the witch get the witch on the phone somebody you know it used to be back in the day jacob it used to be the banner plane that used to be a wall yeller you know we've come so far from that you know we'll be

[01:02:24] like oh in the season six weeks ago but then we have moments like this that kind of make the journey worth it and then if there's a worthy winner that's aggressively playing the game i think that's what at the end of the day makes me happy i want to see somebody who wants it to play the game hard and to win and so um yeah i'm very excited to see how this ends for everybody but this was so much fun talking about big brother unlock with you jacob i think i'm not positive but this might be the first podcast we ever just did just the two of us no this is the very first podcast we've ever just crazy
