Big Brother 28 is filled with tension as long-time alliances face shakeups and the power structure shifts yet again. Host Taran Armstrong recaps the drama of Day 49 with guest Matt, breaking down every move and misstep as the house reels from the latest Veto ceremony and looming renom. The fallout from Dee's nominations and Lala's Veto win sparks fresh strategy talk and anxiety among the players, while new deals and social frustrations simmer just beneath the surface.[00:00:10] Armstrong talk Big Brother looking at the stuff from yesterday All the drama, all the strategy and silliness from Fido to HOH You know he is the reason, you know what's happened Rob said that he could do it, tomorrow he will do it again
[00:00:43] Hello everyone and good morning, welcome to our live feed update for August 25th. I'm your host, Darren Armstrong and I'm here to update you on everything that happened yesterday. The Big Brother 28 live feeds, it was day 49 in the house and in a Fido ceremony, a renom.
[00:01:08] We had some, you know, interesting conversations here and there and the name of Vince was invoked yesterday. So, plenty to talk about and with me to talk about it. Matt, how you doing Matt? I'm good, I'm good. It actually ended up being a slower day than I expected just given how Sunday was looking and how emotionally fired up some people were Sunday night and then on top of the fact that the people were moving a little slower and the feeds were cutting
[00:01:39] Feeds were cutting so much. I genuinely, I was like, okay, it's the halfway party and then feeds came back in like 40 minutes and there's no party. So, one of those types of days but still enough for us to get into. Yes, that's pretty much it. I mean, it's, you know, the renom is coming up, the renom is happening and everyone knew it was coming and there's talk about the vote and stuff like that. But you're right also the feeds were cutting quite a bit.
[00:02:05] And there's a lot of waiting around also for like the other shoe to really drop in terms of letting Barrett and Drew know Mallory's not staying. So, that's sort of on the horizon as well. We started the day though, of course, D has nominated Drew, Lala and Taylor. Lala won the veto. Mallory is the intended renom and target. Drew and Barrett know that she's going up as the renom. They don't know that she's going up as the target.
[00:02:36] Mallory and Melody also know that she's going, that Mallory's going up as the renom. They also don't think she's the target, although they certainly fear it. So, there's a couple of things going on today. Primarily with Lala now coming off the block, she is going to have a little bit of room to maneuver and she's going to have a couple of conversations trying to get herself back into the game.
[00:03:00] Yash also now being kept safe this week is giving him the freedom to kind of move around and try to repair some bonds. So, we start the day with Lala and D. Lala wants to work more closely with the vets, or at least that's what she's telling them. That's what she was advised to tell them by Angela.
[00:03:22] And, you know, wants to repair some bonds herself. D says that she should talk Devins because obviously Lala has said Devins' name a lot. And so, they have a good conversation. Lala also has, you know, she has kind of two things on her agenda. One is get in good with the vets if possible. The other is Barrett's dangerous. We shouldn't be letting Barrett just float right to the end, should we?
[00:03:53] So, she'll be working that agenda during the day. Look, Lala, you know, winning herself some time and freedom in the game, like you just said, to be able to get herself back into it, I think is fantastic. Because if she sat on the block all week and had to just work on, like, you know, pitching to stay, that doesn't really give her the room to do what she's doing here. And I'm just beyond impressed, honestly, that, like, not only is she going out of her way to have these conversations with D and eventually Devins,
[00:04:21] but, like, she's not giving up. Like, she has, like, a real, like, just, like, oomph to her in these conversations of, like, look, I really want to, you know, connect and go forward with you, D. I really want this to, like, I'm not going to put you up next week, even though you put me up this week. Devins, I know I said I was coming after you, but I'm not anymore. And I just, like, half the time when I'm listening to her, I'm like, wow, I have, like, no notes for the way that she's handling these conversations. And what did she get, like, fours last night? I'm like, I could have gone up to a five after yesterday, maybe.
[00:04:51] Maybe. Maybe. Maybe. She was working it. This, there's a conversation that made the rounds yesterday about sex toys. Oh, yeah. Lots of, it's, like, a very controversial conversation. Not the sex toy conversation itself, but Yash's reaction to it and Drew's reaction to it. Basically, like, they were talking about sex toys.
[00:05:20] Drew is telling a story. Then Angela starts telling some stories. And Yash gets up and leaves, and Drew leaves. And then afterward, Yash is saying, like, actually, bro, I don't need to be here and all that. Like, if you're my future wife, don't talk like that or you're not my wife. And then Drew's like, well, if you're my wife, do whatever you want. And then Yash immediately goes, I worded that improperly.
[00:05:47] If you think you're my future wife and you talk like that, you're not. Not if you're my wife. Don't do it. Not if you're my wife. Don't do it. Because that makes it sound like I'm controlling you. I'm just, but I'm telling you, if you think you're my future wife and that's how you're moving. And Drew's like, well, if you're my future wife and that's how you're moving, it's because I love you and I'll look past it. And Yash is a good man.
[00:06:12] So, yeah, that was certainly something that we were paying attention to, the way that these two took, well, what these two took away from the conversation. Can we bring it back to Angela? Because Angela had some stories. Like, my goodness. She's like, oh, yeah, I have this. I have that. I've had this. I've gone to Vegas. I bought that. I go to this store. I'm like, oh, my goodness, Miss Murray. Mrs. Murray. Excuse me. So, they were telling some stories. I don't know.
[00:06:39] It was, again, a slow day that this was one of the early highlights of it all. But, yeah, look, we all have our own journeys in what we're comfortable talking about. We all have our own sex toys. Is that what you're going to say, right? You said that. I didn't say that. Oh. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know who you are anymore. You're doing tongue things on cameras, talking about sex toys. Listen, we are sex toy positive here at Rob Has It Podcast.
[00:07:08] I'm pretty sure that statement is approved by Rob. So, Drew talks to Devens. And Devens is asking Drew. This is still early in the morning. Of course, Drew and Devens, they're up on the balcony in the backyard. And Devens is asking Drew how Melody and Mallory and Barrett are taking it. The whole Mallory situation.
[00:07:33] And Drew says, well, you know, I really don't think Mallory was going to put three icons on the block before this. But now she might, you know? And again, I think a lot of people immediately took this. Oh, Drew ratting them out once again.
[00:07:55] And I don't really think that Drew was like super intending to like rat them out as much as once again, Drew just being a dummy, thinking that this was a good thing to say because he was like defending them. Like, hey, I don't think that they would have done this. But now they might you guys and I'm going to have to fix it again.
[00:08:20] And of course, Devens, who has just always intended to target Mallory immediately is like, oh, well, careful. That doesn't make me want to keep her. Are they trying to push you guys into jumping ship? And and he's like, oh, well, you know, I'm just trying to say that, like, I don't think you and Angela have anything to do with it. Right. That's what I'm trying to tell them. And I'm pushing back on it.
[00:08:49] And now he's just in defense mode and Devens is getting exactly what he wants. And Devens is like, well. Now that you're saying all this, I'm thinking that, you know, someone that's a better competitor than Taylor would definitely would definitely put me up. It's like on the block, like, you know, Drew's like, well, the thing about Mallory is that, you know, you wouldn't be the target. You wouldn't, you know, implying it would be D. Uh, and, uh, and Devens is, well, she wouldn't get to vote.
[00:09:19] She's HOH. It's like, yeah. And I was like, I just, I don't know. Taylor's not really that big a threat, is she? I just, I don't know. Uh, and just like, I mean, listen, I'm all ears for whatever. Obviously I'd prefer to keep Mallory because I don't talk to Taylor at all. And Mallory wouldn't put me up. And essentially what he's saying is it would be terrible for my game to lose Mallory. But I'm all ears for whatever you're thinking here.
[00:09:46] So, you know, over the course of the conversation, it becomes pretty clear that Devens is already starting to push an agenda. And Drew keeps just stumbling into it. Now, for as bad as Drew did here, this is just always going to happen anyway. But it just helps give, really, the issue isn't Drew now at this point, like, saying what he's saying. The issue is him believing that what he's saying means anything. Right.
[00:10:12] The, just the, the aspect of this when it comes to Devens and how he's laying this information out, I'm finding a pretty intriguing. Him and D all season, or at least a lot lately, have been very loose lipped with, uh, like giving up their, like showing their cards a little too early, uh, plenty of times. D especially, I feel like is, uh, talking to Lala back to the conversations we were just talking about with them two. And she's like telling Lala that she feels like Mallory is the better target. I'm just like, there's something that like we could kind of keep a little bit closer sometimes and not,
[00:10:41] give all of the information to everybody drop little crumbs. And I guess that's a little closer to what Devens is doing here, but it's also like, it's funny because you can see the wheels turning in his head of like, do I give him all the information and tell him that, yes, we're going to go after Mallory. And this is who I want to go home. Or do I slow roll it? And, and just like, while the wheels are turning, the slow rolling is starting to just kind of come out naturally. Now he, I don't know if lucky is the right word, but I guess he's a little lucky that he has stumbled into this, you know, situation.
[00:11:11] Of Drew and Barrett being these two sons of his, uh, that aren't going to get mad at him regardless, because he really can just say anything that he wants and give, you know, and say, yeah, we might take out one of your four people, uh, because it might make more sense. And Drew's going to be like, yeah, you know, it's fine. Uh, not, not what I prefer, but it is what it is. Uh, because like almost any other worthwhile player in this spot would be like, wait, no, like, let's not do this. Let's, let's keep Mallory. She's not going to come after you. Like, I promise she's on my side. I can get her to do whatever you want.
[00:11:41] Uh, so just the dynamics here are like so unusual for what I would expect to see from two players in a big brother house, but this is a pretty unusual season. So, uh, what are you going to do? I mean, it really is like Devon's is, is their dad and they are like slightly rebellious teenagers, but at the end of the day, they have to listen to dad, you know? And it's just like, not even just about the game.
[00:12:07] Like they, I think have adopted, well, maybe Devon's has adopted them. It's just like, they role play all day as if he is genuinely their dad and they are his sons. Like it's beyond just like the bit of like, we're strategizing or we're, we're in an alliance together. And Devon's is like our dad, like drew was spends like half the day today being like, how can we annoy dad? Like, how can we like, like pull pranks on dad? Uh, like Devon's walks across the room. Uh, I hope Devon's isn't listening because we think Rick, we think Rick Devon's kind of sucks.
[00:12:35] Uh, and just like playing around as if like, this is his father. And again, just like these dynamics have been so ingrained in how they treat each other that obviously it's having game implications of just like, they trust their dad, whatever their dad ultimately says, like they're kind of just fine with it. Yeah. Yeah. Um, so it's good. Listen, daddy wants to dove. Oh, I, I held myself back, but you needed, you just prompted me one more time.
[00:13:05] I had to play it. Blame in me today. Listen, I'm, I'm role-playing as Devon's. It's all your fault that I do a thing. Uh, Yash, as I said, starts to get to work a bit today. He works a little bit on Barrett to see basically, uh, like it's still very early in the morning here. Yash is going to feel Barrett out on like how he's feeling about the whole Mallory situation. Uh, Mallory going up on the block.
[00:13:33] I think obviously Yash is just like hoping to like, Yash is like reaching into the bag and hoping to find a spine. Um, and, uh, he's like, so, so Barrett, like you kind of like maybe upset that Mallory is going to go on the block. Barrett's like, I'm a little mad. Uh, he's like, okay, good. Uh, well, listen, I'm happy you're safe, right? Like we need each other in this game.
[00:14:01] Uh, I wish Drew would be willing to rock with us. I wish Drew had a little bit more of a spine because we kind of need to band together here. Um, he says, you know, these vets, they're just going to use everyone up until they're done with them and then discard them. Barrett's like, I have fallen prey to that a little bit myself. Um, and Yash is like, yeah, me too. You know, listen, there's, and you have to know this, right?
[00:14:29] Like there's no move that Devin's or D make without the other one. And a lot of people think that like Devin's goes along with what D does, but I actually think it's kind of the opposite. I think that Devin's is kind of leading this whole thing. Um, and Yash is right, right? Like to some degree, obviously D leads plenty, but like Devin's is the one that pushed the Mallory thing.
[00:14:50] Uh, and, uh, and at the very least he's right that, uh, that Devin's and D are in lockstep with one another, but Barrett does not believe this. Uh, Barrett is under the mistaken assumption that Devin's is not on board with what D is doing because he's his dad and he would protect him. Um, and so Yash is trying to get through to Barrett here, but he doesn't.
[00:15:15] I can't get over the dynamics of, of these two in this exact moment in this game because Yash like needs Barrett. He needs Drew. He needs any of the newbies to kind of be able to band together and eventually go after the vets. Yash cannot do that next week or probably the week after, you know, on his next HOH mathematically, uh, as long as it makes sense, he cannot go after the three of them. Taryn, who will Yash be putting on the block if he wins HOH this week? Uh, say it with me now. Barrett. Barrett.
[00:15:45] Drew. And Haley? I almost said Haley. I almost put them together. Uh, Haley or Melody. The other one would end up being the renom. So he needs them. He needs to aim them at the vets, but also they are his nominations if he wins next week. And also he needs to win next week because he needs to get this off of his plate. He needs to not have this like a hand tied behind his back that he can't put the vets up. So like to get over this next HOH, he has to win in my opinion right now.
[00:16:15] And he has to put up these people to take away a number while he's pitching to them. Hey, come with me. Yeah. It's a really bad bribe that he took. I can't get over it. It's tough. Um, Devin's talks to D. He lets her know about his conversation with Drew. He said that Drew tried to claim that Melody and Mallory weren't coming for them until this whole renom situation, but he doesn't believe it. Uh, and quite frankly, the fact that he said all that was perfect because, oh, well, they're coming after us now.
[00:16:44] Uh, he talks about how poorly the four of them are playing. They just hang out in the hammock all day and do nothing. Uh, and that, uh, they continue to say that, that splitting up that four is really great for their games. So they'll, they'll split them up and then there'll only be three of them left and happening pre jury. Uh, but they also continue to say that Taylor is the backup target.
[00:17:12] If Mallory wins the blockbuster, which to my mind, I pointed this out, uh, on the round table last night. These are contradictory statements, right? Like they aren't specifically like they're talking about how getting Mallory out is great, but they keep talking about how one of the best benefits of getting Mallory out is breaking up the four. And then in the same breath saying, but if Mallory wins, we're taking out Taylor and they haven't connected that if they take out Taylor, they're no longer breaking up the four.
[00:17:42] Uh, and I really think that might come to a head over the next couple of days as the survivor players who love flipping votes, start thinking about it a little more and realize, wait, the four will still be together. Malory is still going to be against us. And now, you know, not to mention the fact that they're going to have to tell fully tell drew and Barrett that they plan to take Mallory out.
[00:18:08] Uh, and then if Mallory stays, she stays with potentially that information with drew and Barrett potentially mad at them. I really feel like they might flip that vote from Taylor onto drew. If Mallory wins that blockbuster. I can definitely see it. I mean, if the idea is break up the four, if the idea was break up the four from the beginning of the week, the nominations shouldn't have been what the nominations were. The nominations should have had Melody on the block as well at the beginning. So that if Mallory wins the blockbuster, Melody can go home or something, you know, vice versa.
[00:18:36] Um, because now they're really putting themselves in a, in a really tough spot. And you would think that going forward into the week that D Devin's and Angela would say, okay, we really need to, to lock something in with Taylor, Lala, and Yash to just have like a full backup plan of like, all right, let's, let's us work together. Um, and try to go after them, especially, you know, in the, in the world that Taylor does happen to go home, whatever the vote scenario ends up being so that Yash and Lala are at least on their side.
[00:19:02] And then they keep going after Melody and Mallory, which wouldn't involve Barrett. The dynamics are all over the place here, but it is very messy. Just looking ahead to this vote because of what you're laying out here, that if Mallory wins the blockbuster, the vets want to keep drew that, that is still Devin's son. But that doesn't resolve the problem that they've realized in the past 48 hours that they have on their hands. Yeah. Uh, and, and that would be a pretty phenomenal result for Yash if they flipped the vote to drew.
[00:19:30] Cause like at the end of the day, drew is still loyal to them. Uh, and it would probably be a mistake to flip the vote onto drew, but I think the logic does the logic that they have and the poor reads they often have on drew does kind of start to point in that direction. So we will see. Um, and Yash was like, no more men can go home. And then Kamu left. And then maybe drew leaves down to three men.
[00:19:55] Right. If that happens. Come on, bro. He did his best. Yeah. Well, well, well, well, well, um, he nominated three women. What more can he do? Uh, Lala approaches Barrett. Uh, they have a brief conversation. She's saying that they should work together, which is funny. Cause of course, again, one of her agenda items for the day is like, we can't let Barrett slide through.
[00:20:24] Um, it's a fine conversation, especially on Lala's end. Uh, I don't think Barrett took it very seriously, but, uh, she did approach him. She's, she's working, she's trying. Uh, it's just like some of these pieces are just kind of immovable. Uh, it's, I mean, it's similar to when Yash talked to him. I just think that like, like people are approaching Barrett now. Um, but he doesn't, you know, he doesn't move, uh, in the game. So like, he's not approaching them. You know what I mean?
[00:20:55] No, I mean, my first thought watching these, these two interact was, okay. So the next time that these two interact will be either one of them campaigning for the other's vote to stay on any given upcoming week. Or if like one of them happens to win HOH, if Barrett or Lala win HOH, remember that talk in the storage room two weeks ago when we said, let's work together. Now's the time. Now we're going to work together. Yeah. It's quite, quite honestly, it would be them nominating one day, one another probably.
[00:21:22] Remember when I said I want to work with you? Like, uh, Oh, I still do, but I need you to go on the block for me as a pawn. A thousand percent. Yeah. You just completely called the conversation. Yeah. I still trust you. I still feel really good with you. Uh, just look at you and you should say these things to each other. Like you should have these conversations. You should plan to see it so that you can point back to it when the time comes and say, look, I did tell you weeks ago. I wanted to work with you. Uh, but it's just very funny for us to watch it. And it's like, okay, let's talk about Barrett and Lala locked in. It doesn't mean a thing.
[00:21:51] Yeah. Um, Barrett does talk to D briefly again. Um, there's, you know, just, just in case you're not like a regular watcher of the feeds and you just like kind of pay attention to the, the updates or the podcast, whatever. Um, I just want to make sure this is clear that pretty much anytime D and Barrett have a conversation together privately or even not privately, but like one-on-one.
[00:22:18] Um, they're just like touching, like holding hands, rubbing hands, legs, feet, um, head. Like Barrett will just be like on her shoulder or something, you know, like it's, uh, it's just, just, just assume that's happening. Anytime we, we mentioned this.
[00:22:44] Um, Barrett is like now part of the reason this conversation is happening again, uh, Devin's the day before said we've done enough stick. It's time for some carrot. We need to be sweet with them. Um, and he warned D that Barrett is more angry about the Mallory situation than maybe he's letting on to D. And so D is trying to be kind of sweet with Barrett. And he's just like, yeah, I'm just sad. You know, I'm just a little sad about it. That's all. Um, and she's like, Oh baby.
[00:23:16] And like that, but that is it. That's how they're talking. I mean, D says to him before even renominate, uh, doing the renom, uh, like, you know, this, this, I feel so much worse doing this to you than I actually care about actually, you know, doing this to Mallory. Uh, I feel so bad that I'm doing this to you. I know this is your friend. I know this is your person. Yeah. It's not my favorite. Yeah. This sucks, but that's it.
[00:23:39] That's the extent of, you know, him expressing how he like, I mean, look, I, we don't need to go back all over, you know, how Barrett could have played this week, but just, I don't know. I haven't spoken on it yet. Um, it's been very frustrating to watch him not even try a little bit to take that hand. That's like petting his face and, and, and push back a little bit and say, let me hold this hand for a second. And just look me in the eyes. Please don't do this. She is with us. Look at anybody else.
[00:24:05] I promise we can make this work together instead of just being like, okay, D and then the gentle pets continue. Yeah. Yeah. And she goes, uh, D just goes to Devin's afterwards. She's like, Devin's, I really don't think Barrett is mad. I think he's just sad. Um, and, uh, and Devin's disagrees. Now I, I think there's actually something here. Uh, Devin's did mention in a camera talk a few days ago that he sees Barrett as more with D than with him.
[00:24:35] And he doesn't like that. Um, and I think that he's trying to plant some seeds about Barrett here. Uh, he says, you know, like, I really think he is actually a little bit mad based on the conversations. He's having with me. And, uh, and maybe he feels this, maybe he just feels sad now, but if he's having this hard time with it, just for her going on the block, we haven't even dropped the other shoe yet that she's going to be leaving.
[00:25:03] And so we'd have no idea how he's going to react to that. Uh, so Devin's, I think with a legitimate warning, but also something that is a little more pointed in Barrett's direction, which should be what he's doing. He's way too often been willing to let Drew hang out to dry when Drew is like heart eyes, uh, on, on Devin's at all times. Whereas Barrett is more dangerous to Devin's because he, while he is also hard eyes on Devin's, he is also hard eyes on D.
[00:25:31] Um, and so if I'm in any way right here and Devin's is trying to sort of divert her attention a little bit more to Barrett than to Drew, uh, then I think that's the right call. Uh, but it could also just be that he's speaking genuinely and he has no hidden agenda.
[00:25:49] Am I like rewriting survivor 50 history or was this like somewhat similar to his, uh, dynamics out there with like Emily flipping and Christian where it was like, they were obviously in a group and they kind of brought Sari in, but Sari, I feel like was always a fourth to them. And then you had like Christian and Emily that just were constantly together in the game. And then, um, from preseason, I mean, they played blood on the clock tower together. We knew that going in. I don't know if he's just like seeing something similar of like, yes, we're together, but you know, you two are closer than you are with me. And that's not a, not a good thing, but this is also a different game.
[00:26:19] And I think he's adapted a little bit to that. Uh, not all the way for him and D having adapted, but just like to an extent to say, like, even if I do have that concern, it's not something I need to address today, but it still makes me nervous. Yeah.
[00:26:32] I mean, I would say the way I would maybe personally project it out, it's, it's less so that he's worried about D having Barrett, uh, because he's worried D will make a move on him with Barrett and more so just that like, well, Barrett is the kind of player where toward the end game, if he won might take a shot at me over D and I don't want that.
[00:26:56] Like, uh, like, uh, like, like less of a, less of a power struggle between him and D and more of a, just it's slightly better for me if Barrett leaves and it's slightly better for her if Barrett stays. Right. Um, that would be my guess, but I'm, I'm reading into a lot here at this point. Also the dynamics change a big time.
[00:27:15] If drew ends up going home this week, because if Barrett doesn't have his number one guy, you probably would call him at this point at the end of the day, if drew is not there anymore, well, Barrett still has melody and Mallory, but that's not like his number one. So D might like fully become his number one at that point, even though he still feels good with Devons. Yeah. I wouldn't disagree with that.
[00:27:38] Um, Mallory is going to be, of course, a bit upset about the fact that she's imminently going on the block. Um, and she's talking to melody and she starts to wonder about these power. And I was like, Ooh, hold on. She's like, do you think, do you think D might've, cause like Yash doesn't go up on the block.
[00:28:06] Do you think D I think she used her power to bribe Yash? You think she used her power to bribe Yash to vote me out? Nah, no, no, no, no. He wouldn't accept that bribe. Come on. No, I don't think so. Right. This is your probably, you're fine. You're fine. Yeah. Yeah. I'm fine. Close. Close. A little bit. Yeah.
[00:28:36] On the right path. Are we entering the portion of, uh, Mallory and melody ranting for, for us to do, uh, for, for the day? Cause I'm, I'm loaded up. I'm ready for it. Uh, it's just, I don't know. I don't know if you're there yet. Listen, feel free. No, it's just, it's, I mean, look, I'm glad they have all these theories. I'm glad they have all these ideas and maybe they're getting close and they're not. Uh, but just like we're declaring war.
[00:29:05] We're talking about, all right, we're done. We've had enough. We're fed up. Uh, melodies on the phone. She's crying. She's had enough. She's angry. She's pissed at these people. Mallory. She's pissed. She doesn't want to eat and make it to jury. And she wants to be mean to her on the way out. She wants to, she wants to make it, uh, like, Oh, you're a survivor. Survive this. Uh, like she is going all in on how upset they both are together. Obviously they didn't expect this week. Like, so I guess, did they not expect this week to go this way?
[00:29:34] Or did they just really think and hope that they got away with it? The, all of what happened at the end of last week, they thought they were getting away with it. They got caught. They did. They're not getting away with it. And now not even are they maybe not getting away with it, but they may get one of them sniped out of the game, uh, because of all of it before they had a chance to take a shot that they were planning on taking. They know they were going to put up D, uh, or some set of the icons going into the, if they ever won an HOH, but as you've pointed out once or twice, they threw it.
[00:30:02] And now we're in this situation and now they're frustrated and they're going to go to war. And then they spend all day talking only to each other and nobody else except for drew and Barrett sometimes, but really just to each other in the hammock or in the gym or in the storage room. And it's just the two of them talking to nobody else. And it's driving me crazy. Yeah. Uh, it's, it's there, there's so much like, uh, like Mallory's going to like put D a D name tag on a pillow and start punching it.
[00:30:31] And she's going to talk all about all of the like one liners she's going to have, um, about like, you're always going to be Judas to me. And, you know, like, yeah, survive this. And it's, it is just, it's giving like, uh, it's giving like John McClane, uh, in die hard.
[00:30:52] Uh, like if he only ever just hit in the vent, um, like beating up a picture of Hans Gruber and being like, when I, when I go and do something, I'm going to be like, yippee Kaeya motherfucker. Uh, and that, but then he just never leaves and he just like lets him go. He's like, yeah, but, but if you, if you came into this vent, yeah, you'd really have it. You'd be so done.
[00:31:18] Like, okay, go win the blockbuster, win the HOH and get your revenge. I would love to see it just for the sake of this game. Uh, but it's just so much time. And then like, what makes it even worse is them like kind of thinking that they know how this could go, but they really don't. Want to believe it yet, which could impact how much they're going to campaign for, for Mallory. Uh, there we go. Uh, for Mallory to stay, uh, they're going to bear it. How many times a day? So do you think that they're going to flip this on us?
[00:31:46] Do you think that maybe like Miller, Jesus, do you think that Mallory, that's a new one. It's one of the foods they stock in the pantry. I can't, um, they're, they're, they're, they're pissing me off. They're just not doing anything. Yes. And, uh, and the thing that is being done, of course, is that the veto ceremony happens.
[00:32:12] Lala takes herself off the block and Mallory is in fact her replacement. Um, so, uh, with Mallory now on the block, drew and Barrett, uh, or sorry, Melody and Mallory do have a talk, um, about how they need to agree that they're going to, they are going to, they're going to keep pretending they're all good with the icons. And by pretending they're all good with the icons, apparently what they mean is don't talk to the icon. No, not.
[00:32:39] Why would we, did, did, did Mallory exchange a single word with me yesterday? I don't, I saw believe, I mean, not like a, not like a one-on-one word by any means, uh, maybe in a group setting. Um, no pitch, no last minute. Like, let me go up to the room and talk to her. Make sure that there's nothing I can do to change your mind. Just let me, I'm going to show up in my unicorn rainbow pajamas and I'm going to have my moment.
[00:33:05] Um, yeah, she, I mean, at one point she asked Barrett if he talked to D, did you, did you talk to her? And he went, no, well, yeah, a little bit like anything. Well, it just seemed like her mind was pretty made up. Okay. But you can try, you can go. Good. Good. Um, melody and Matt Barrett do talk about the vote.
[00:33:35] Uh, Barrett still thinks that Devin's isn't happy with play and that Angela will also want to keep Mallory. So even if he wanted to flip the vote, Devin's and Angela would be on board with them to keep Mallory, which obviously is not even remotely true. Um, drew is up in the gym and he has a brief conversation with Devin's drew kind of like, he certainly got the hint from Devin's earlier in the day that maybe there, maybe Devin's is looking at potentially taking Mallory out.
[00:34:02] Uh, and he kind of asks that he's like, are, is it kind of like if Mallory stays up there, is she kind of leaving? Um, and Devin's is like, Oh, I mean, she does seem to have it out for me. You know, we need to talk to Barrett. We need to have some conversations about it. Uh, and so Drew's continuing to get some heads up that like things are not exactly moving in the direction that you might want.
[00:34:28] Um, and, uh, and so he goes and talks to Barrett, uh, and they're in the storage room and Drew's, you know, talking to him about like, you know, what, what if, what if they want Mallory gone? Uh, like, you know, that, that could be like, I don't know. Uh, and they talk about how like talk about Haley's vote and how Haley is, you know, Haley's probably in an alliance with Ian, Angela at this point too. You know, if we're thinking about it, Barrett's like, well, we need to get into Devin's head about that.
[00:34:58] We need to make Devin's really worried about, you know, as if they're not in lockstep, like Yash told you Barrett. Uh, and D and Drew's like, Oh no, no, no. He is worried about it, which means he's taking us. And I kid you not. They high five. Uh, they're so happy that dad's on board. Um, and Barrett's like, yeah, my, my mind changes all the time in this house. She's like me too, man.
[00:35:27] Like two nights ago, I was like, fap is the way to go. And now I'm like, damn, I think crossovers might be the way to go there. Barrett's like, yeah, I don't know. They're just, they're forcing our hand at every turn. There's no way out really. She was like, yeah, yeah, there's no way out. So, and Barrett's like, well, and there shouldn't be when we have three big shields ahead of us. She was like, exactly.
[00:35:55] Honestly, we're actually in a pretty great spot. You know, you know, I'm thinking about like, we won HOH. Like our only choices for nomination would be like the three non-Moshpit members. It's just, it's just bad. It's just bad news. So I don't know. Maybe we shouldn't win. No, I'm just kidding. We should always try to win. Right. Barrett's like, well, I kind of let D win this week. Dude, fuck you. I didn't know this was going to happen.
[00:36:26] Yeah. You know, Yash hasn't been on the block since week one. Maybe the more fun dynamics would be if we actually, well, a lot of people are going to roll their eyes here and yell at me. If we do let the icons and Drew and Barrett get to the end of the game, just so that we can watch Drew and Barrett target each other over the icons. Because even at that point, they'll still think it's more worthwhile to stick with those big shields in front of them. Just, just in case. Yeah.
[00:36:53] Sounds like a joke, but it just doesn't feel like a joke anymore with these two. And look, they were like getting there. They were inching closer and closer and closer with the hammock conversation. And then with one Rick Devins. What were you guys talking about? Which really was just what a moment in this season's history. They're back on board and they're going to stay there right on their ship for themselves. They are fully back on board.
[00:37:21] And again, I've seen some people like, oh no, Drew is just being careful because he's on the block. Which, you know, there's a world where that's potentially true. But, but there's not really any reason to, like, he felt fully comfortable talking with Barrett about how pissed he was at them before. He fully admits to Barrett that he was FAP over crossovers before. Now he's crossovers over FAP.
[00:37:48] And, and it's genuinely, they just both seem to believe that they have Devins in lockstep. And if they have Devins, then they feel good about going to the end. Hey, Devins, it's D, Angela, and Haley versus the three of us. And we feel pretty good about those odds. We need to make sure we snipe Haley out of the game so that we go into a final five with the numbers. Um, and it's, they just have such little reason to believe.
[00:38:17] Like, Devins has done obviously some great work with them. But, like, he, he barely gives lip service to this final three that exists in, in Drew and Barrett's minds. Uh, like, he, he doesn't talk about how they'll eventually make a move on D. He doesn't talk about how fun it will be if they make it to the final three. He, he's, he's no, like, Anthony Douglas talking about the kingdom they're building.
[00:38:43] Like, uh, he, he just is like, all right, all right, little boys. Yes, sure. We'll do what, we'll do that. All right, sure. And granted, these are new players. So, like, you know, I want to give Rick Devins a lot of props for just the way that this is all set up for himself. That he doesn't have to, you know, go crazy and reassuring them and they just kind of trust him. Um, cause I, I want to give him the same kind of credit when it comes to Melody and Mallory.
[00:39:10] Where, how many times has Mallory said in the past 24 hours of like, yeah, Devins is pissed. He's not happy. He doesn't think that this is what D should have done as well. Uh, he would have done something different because Devins is kind of given the impression that he wasn't fully aware or on board. But it's still just insane that like, I know that these are newbies playing with bets. Like, I know what these dynamics look like. We've seen them in how many seasons of the show, but it still blows my mind that, that after coming into the game from the same show, from the same season, he just used the diamond power of Vito on her.
[00:39:39] And they are obviously working together that even for a second that Mallory and Melody could think that Devins isn't lockstep with D and that these two boys could think that Devins is on their side while D is working with Haley. That, that her and Angela and Haley are like, do you hear yours? Do you hear yourselves? Ah. Yeah, man.
[00:40:02] In the meantime, Lala does approach Devins and have that conversation that she talked about with D earlier in the day. Um, and they agree that, uh, that they won't target each other. Um, it's, I'm sorry for my notes. They won't target people, uh, instead of each other.
[00:40:22] Um, and, uh, and Devins says, uh, that, um, he, uh, he's like, yeah, I, I'm, I don't think I would nominate you. Um, and, uh, and Devins says, uh, that, um, he, uh, he's like, yeah, I, I'm, I don't think I would nominate you. And I, I don't think I would make you hold on. I gotta. Sorry. It's just like, you know, there's not that many people left. Yeah. Yeah. I wouldn't nominate you as the Reno. And this is such a name. This is such an example of what we just talked about. Like Devins, I feel like hardly tries sometimes.
[00:40:51] And yet, uh, Lala. Maybe that disarms people a little bit to, you know, Oh, like he's not super calculated. He's got to think of this stuff on the spot. And, uh, I don't know. It's a little bit of both. Maybe, maybe that is it. Who knows? Uh, they agree that the four need to be broken up. FAP members, of course. Uh, he says that he appreciates that Lala tries to actually win things and that he thinks that they can work pretty well together. Um, and she says, well, I think Barrett is a huge threat.
[00:41:20] He doesn't win things, but he can, and he's going to float along to the end. Uh, and, um, Lala says, you know, yeah, I said your name. I was trying to get you out, but I actually think we could be a great unexpected pair. Uh, nobody would suspect that we're ever working together. It's the classic line. Um, and so, you know, it, once again, it's like, uh, how much will this actually mean anything moving forward?
[00:41:45] But Lala is putting in some effort and, uh, and essentially giving Devin's, uh, potentially another option moving forward. Um, and it's just another example of like, this Lala should be working with FAP. They should be approaching her. She should be approaching them, but they've done so much damage to their relationship with her, uh, through the NOM ceremony and the waffling back and forth last week.
[00:42:10] And now two of them are on the block that she feels like she needs to go to the vets, uh, to get anywhere because she kind of does. I mean, there's, it's, it's not like these people, some of these people, I should say live in the same room together. Malady. I just did it again. Uh, Mallory, Melody. Look, it's really hard. Um, Taylor and Lala spend a lot of time because they, I think are all right in the same, uh, room in the pods.
[00:42:36] Uh, and so it is pretty hard to believe that this deep into the season, they still can't really just connect through this game. But you have people like drew that are just like building this brick wall up, like higher and higher each week with like, like to, to anyone that goes to play big brother, you should keep your options open. You should have a possibility that at any given point in your game, you can go to anyone in the house and, and have a worthwhile, believable pitch as to why we could work together this week, next week, going forward.
[00:43:04] We could be good for each other's games, but drew especially like, doesn't even, it's not that he doesn't try. Like he just, well, it's beyond, I should say that he doesn't even try. He doesn't want to, he doesn't want any relationship with Taylor and Lala because he dislikes them so much and has so much to say about them. Uh, and if you're Taylor and Lala, you know, that this kid feels that way about you, then what's the point in even trying? Like, I'm not going to go chasing after this 22 year old punk for, uh, for, for his, uh, allyship in the game. Uh, plus it's just not worthwhile.
[00:43:30] So the, the vets obviously do have much more capabilities to say, all right, well, you know, we don't care a ton about Taylor or Lala or whoever the person is, but like, we should entertain these conversations. And so obviously that's where Devin's and Lala talking here could come back around to pay off. Lala's won two competitions. Now she could win HOH next week. Uh, and if she does, you're going to say she should go after the vets, but in a world that she doesn't, and we give her a hard time over it, it's because of this.
[00:43:58] And really like, should she, you know, like it's not that clear cut necessarily. Uh, because if people like drew are still in the game, like that's just never happening. Yeah. Um, so, uh, drew and Barrett talk again. Uh, drew says it, uh, it's really seems like Haley wants Taylor out. Haley's been having some conversations, basically telling everyone she talks to what they want to hear.
[00:44:24] Um, telling Mallory that she's voting to keep Mallory telling drew the same telling Taylor. She's voting to keep Taylor. Um, and so now drew feels like Haley is actually on board. And if Haley wants Taylor out, that's another indication that maybe Taylor really is going out. And Barrett's like, Oh, thank God. That's the one I was worried the most about. Uh, and, uh, so if they've, if Haley's there and if Devin's and Angela are both still keeping her, then they should be good.
[00:44:51] Um, and, uh, and it seems as though drew is maybe thinking this is actually moving in this direction, despite all the warnings earlier from Devin's. Uh, and drew says, you know, it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if Mallory won HOH next week. We would just need to make sure we save Devin's like use the veto on him or something. Sure. Sure. Uh, look, hope is a hell of a drug for these four and they're going to be holding onto it as long as possible. We know this is the long stretch we're in right now.
[00:45:18] Uh, you know, after the veto ceremony through the eviction. So, uh, yesterday was a bit of a slog today. Uh, I don't imagine much to change on this end, but maybe at least by Wednesday, like a little bit, maybe start to click for them of like, this actually could be trouble, but, uh, they're, they're really trying hard to not let themselves believe it. Yes. Um, Mallory Barrett, Melody, Andrew at points, uh, hang out for most of the rest of the night.
[00:45:46] Um, it's, it's a lot of, again, like how annoyed they are. It's a, it's conversations like Mallory being like, Barrett, why are you having fun with the person that's ruining my life? Uh, and, and Barrett's like, when have I been having fun? And she's like, I don't know. It's like, I don't, I don't want you to worry about that. For the record, I've been having zero fun. Just cuddles. Uh, Yash pulls Drew though.
[00:46:16] And, uh, and he has a conversation with Drew and he says, uh, listen, I just want to catch up on what's happened the last few days. Like we haven't talked. Uh, he's like, well, first, you know, I heard you were the one that flipped the vote against Kamu and, and then, and then they pull me up into that HOH room with you. And, and I thought they were trying to set me up, but it's clear they were trying to set you up, Drew. Uh, and then during the NOM ceremony, like, how the hell did you drag me into it? Like, you know, I don't rock with Lala. I rock with Taylor. I don't know. Lala. Like, come on.
[00:46:46] And it's just, what are you doing? Drew's like, ah, yeah. You know, like, honestly, I just, right now I feel dead in the water. You know, I got in my emotions. Yash is like, dude, after you were nominated by Haley, I figured your eyes would have been opened. Like, listen, I do understand the benefit of having gotten Kamu out. But like, now you really need to ride with the people that will not sell you out.
[00:47:13] Like, you realize they look at you like they can put you up and you'll just come crawling back to them, right? Like, don't play that way. Dee didn't put you up because she didn't want, seriously, Dee didn't put me up because she knew that I would come after her if I did. She respects me. People may like you, Drew. You might do things that make people like you, but they don't respect you. Tell him. They can't win the game that way.
[00:47:42] He said they don't respect you. And Drew said, yeah, maybe, maybe. So Drew this whole time is interpreting this, like, advice. The thing that he keeps saying is like, yeah, I just need to stop talking so much. I just got in trouble because I ran my mouth too much. It's like, yeah, I should just stop doing anything in the game. Yash is like, no, dude, like people in this house see you as running back to the vets, even though you do you, they do you dirty. But he's like, yeah, I just need to clock out and stop playing Big Brother at all, really.
[00:48:10] He's like, Yash, he's like, dude, when you were up in that HOH room, the vets, the icons, their facial expressions said so much. They were pissed at you. You keep sliming the people that trust you to gain a little bit of recognition by the people that are sliming you out. It ain't worth it, man. You don't want to be like Vinny, right? You don't want America to look at you and be like, you have no spine. And Drew's like, oh, well, no, for sure.
[00:48:44] Yash is going to join a very, well, unless he wins, which I don't think is a complete impossibility by any means at this point. But Yash, otherwise, if he loses this season, will join a pretty small club of players that have played with returnees that have seen how clear it is, how this game should be played and have tried with their fellow newbies to get the job done and just to get people unbrainwashed from what the newbie from what the vets do in brainwashing the other newbies.
[00:49:14] And their their plans have gone nowhere. They've all been taken out of the game. And then the vets go on to get to the end of the game. And Yash will join that club. He will look back on these conversations. I hope he at least like listens back to this and hears, look, Yash, we hear like we get it. You're obviously correct in this. But the brainwashing is way too deep that you just cannot pull your out of this. And I'm sorry. I'm sorry that you can't find a more reasonable or understanding person to work with because it's just not going to happen with this guy.
[00:49:44] It's so funny, too, that he brings up Vinny because this is the so similar, actually, to the conversation Keanu thought he was having with Vinny when he was talking about competence and confidence. Right. Like where Keanu is just like, you can't have competence without confidence because Vinny refused to nominate Rachel. He was like, you can't be playing with the vets like this.
[00:50:11] Uh, and now Yash is like, dude, you people, you people like you, but they don't respect you. You can't win this game if they don't respect you. Uh, don't be like Vinny. Um, and, uh, and yeah, I don't think, I don't think Drew really heard much of this at all, quite frankly, uh, based on the way he was. Now, listen, Drew should not be going. Oh, yes, I agree. Uh, Yash, because Yash could run that back to the vets.
[00:50:38] Um, but again, we know from his private conversations with Barrett that he is actually not really understanding what Yash is telling him. Maybe this will start to wake him up. Who knows? But it doesn't seem like it. If any of it landed, he would, because then he talks to Melody the rest of the night as well. He would have like at least a little bit opened up and been like, Yash got me thinking. He's not, it's not. He goes into conversations with Yash and just like knows that it's very surface level.
[00:51:04] And it's not like bad conversation just from a surface level perspective of just like, yeah, let's agree. And same thing of like the Lala Barrett. Okay, we can come back to this conversation later if we need to reference it that we were trying to get on the same page, but it's not clicking. And I guess, I don't know, this Vinny comparison is just making me rethink because I'm putting so much of the blame on Drew. I'm like giving him, I guess, credit because I'm like, he's 22. He's young, like, you know, whatever. And Vinny, if we're drawing the line here, was not 22. And so, you know, what was his excuse?
[00:51:34] But we don't have to go back into all of that. I don't know. Vinny was so focused on following like what made Morgan happy, obviously, later into that game. Whereas Drew just wants his daddy, Devens, to be happy. And so different, different wants and needs out of the game. But I can see the comparison. I mean, just in general, I think it's been a plague on the show for the last few seasons, at the very least,
[00:52:03] that there are so many cast members that are afraid of rocking the boat, that are afraid of like pissing people off. They target their own allies. They bow over, they roll over and bow to the power. And obviously, like Vince was like the main example of that, of somebody who constantly betrayed his allies to please his enemies.
[00:52:30] And it's, but it's not just Vince. It is so many of the players. It was, you know, Jimmy's HOH. It was Mickey's HOH. It was Quinn's HOH. It was like, it's just, it's so, so prevalent all over the place in seasons lately.
[00:52:53] And, and I think a large part of it is people just like, just fearing to, again, fearing to piss people off. I think one of the, like one of the many advantages that the survivor players have this season is that they have the experience of playing survivor where you piss people off all the time. Um, and, uh, and so they're much less afraid of it. Uh, and so, uh, I just had a thought. Uh, it's not one that, uh, I guess it's a question.
[00:53:23] Um, didn't Drew read your book? He did. He's going to come out and find a way to blame you for this. Listen, uh, first of all, I, I, as I've said many times, my book is not a recipe for how to play the game by any means. But it goes through a lot of people's mistakes. Uh, yes.
[00:53:43] Um, but, uh, but I, and also my book doesn't cover, it goes up until 24, which is, I would say prior to this new plague that we're talking about. Um, I can just see the exit interview. Taryn, you said do this. I don't even know what this is, but, uh, Listen, I made, I made specific how to win big brother podcasts with winners over the last, uh, few seasons before this season started.
[00:54:10] Um, and, uh, and those podcasts would have been very good to listen to for all of these people. And apparently Drew's been listening, so he might've even heard them, but he just didn't retain any of it. Uh, this is probably a little bit my fault too, because I think only one of them was out before the sequester started. All right. So back to the, back to, this is all your fault. Very good. Um, so yes, Drew talks to melody late into the night.
[00:54:34] Uh, they say this is a very calm and honestly they need to stop doing, they're, they're not getting enough sleep. Uh, these two. Yeah. Um, but, uh, but as you mentioned, Drew is just, he continues to say the thing he was saying to Yash, which is like, I just need to close my mouth for the next few days. Like, I just need to like stop playing, uh, the game because I'm a better big brother player. The less I play big brother. Um, which is not what Yash was saying at all. Um, but, uh, it is what it is.
[00:55:04] Um, melody says that she is worried that the vets will flip the votes at the last minute again, but what can you do? Um, and that's, uh, that's about the day. Um, I liked when, uh, melody had been on the phone earlier with her mom because you know, that's, that's her thing. And she's, uh, like very upset. I think she was crying, uh, while she was on the phone. Um, and then Drew comes in. Oh, is that your mom? Yeah. She doesn't want to talk to you. Why not? She doesn't like you. Yeah. Well, Oh, okay. Okay. But they're all heated up all day.
[00:55:33] Um, and speaking of there was, uh, I think it was Lala that may have mentioned this, uh, that at some point in the past before, like, I guess since D told Mallory she was going up and before the nomination ceremony that Mallory screamed so loud in the DR that she was heard in the rest of the house. Um, I don't know if everybody heard or again, I think it was Lala that said that. Um, so I think Haley was talking about it. But the frustration, uh, that is built up within these two, that they are just going to, you know, just talk about to each other.
[00:56:04] That's, that's the thing. That's the deal. Yeah. Yeah. Well, that is what we have for you then today. Uh, I'll of course be back tomorrow morning, 11 a.m. Eastern to update you on everything that happens today on the big brother 28 live feeds. Uh, we will be in Milwaukee tomorrow. So, uh, so stay tuned for that. We're going, there's going to be an episode. We're going to be having a live podcast on it and then, um, a live live feed update on Thursday and Friday.
[00:56:34] And of course the thousandth episode, big twist coming. Um, that's also going to be a live show in Milwaukee. So come hang out in Milwaukee. Uh, if, if you have the ability to go last minute, I guess. Uh, and if you're coming, we'll see you there. Um, in the meantime, check out my Patreon. Uh, we got jet lag coming up very soon to tomorrow. There's going to be a jet lag episode, uh, and all kinds of fun stuff.
[00:57:02] Uh, me reacting things and talking about shows and stuff. Um, Matt, what you got going on? So, uh, I wanted to look at the, uh, list of cast members for this upcoming season of dancing with the stars, not fully announced yet, but I was like, are any of these people tearing people? Um, honestly, I don't know. Did you follow the Olympics super close or? Uh, some of it. Uh, Ezra French is a rumored to be, I don't know. Some, some names that I've seen people that even do follow, not super closely be aware of, but I don't know.
[00:57:31] Julia styles and actress, um, Tatiana Ali. There's, uh, plenty of reality stars. Of course, Maura Higgins, uh, has been announced for a while from this season of the traders, uh, you know, a couple months ago. Um, so all that said, uh, dancing with the stars is back very soon, but right now the next pro show is currently on. They're finding, uh, the next pro that's going to be on the season of dancing with the stars. So, uh, myself and Sasha are talking about that right here on RHAP. We know dancing with the stars.com.
[00:57:57] Uh, and we're going to be talking, uh, we're going to be recording that in a couple of hours talking about the latest episode and then all of the rumored names, uh, before they become official in about a week or so. Uh, so check that out, uh, check out the diary room. Myself and Iman are talking big brother every single week, uh, an episode dropped today. Uh, so you can leave this podcast when we're done and go head over there. Uh, Asia Welch joined us to see if, uh, Chuck made it through the second round. What do you think? Chuck round two? Could Chuck win a matchup? Somehow doubt it. Okay. Well, that's your prediction.
[00:58:27] Um, go check it out. Uh, uh, the diary room, anywhere, uh, YouTube or, uh, on your podcast feeds. Uh, and then also talking the challenge on the free agents podcast with myself and Brian Scali. This, uh, current season has been a lot of fun so far. Uh, possible people of maybe cheating on their marriages. So that's that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, uh, check out the challenge on Paramount plus and then come to the free agents podcast where we're talking about it all. But that's, that's that lots, lots of stuff. All right. That is that.
