Big Brother 28 fans, the battle lines are being drawn as a bold Diamond Power of Veto move shakes up the game. Host Taran Armstrong is joined by Chantele for a full recap, diving into the tough choices and shifting loyalties in the house.[00:00:10] Armstrong talk Big Brother looking at the stuff from yesterday All the drama, all the strategy and silliness from Fido to HOH You know he is the reason, you know what's happened Rob said that he could do it, tomorrow he will do it again
[00:00:43] Hello everyone and good morning, welcome to our live feed update for August 18th. I'm your host, Tern Armstrong and I'm here today to update you on everything that happened yesterday. The Big Brother 28 live feeds, it was day 42 in the house and we had a we had a bit of a diamond power of veto situation on our hands. So, uh, planning to talk about
[00:01:11] there and where we think the rest of the week will go with me to talk about it. Chantal, how you doing Chantal? Doing very well, obviously happy to be back, happy to be back to talk about this diamond power of veto because it's been looming for the last month or so. And so it's finally, we've finally been exposed to how this was going to go down and I'm really happy to talk about it. Yes. All right. Well, let's get right into it then of course, Yash is the HOH, he nominated and
[00:01:41] Angela D and Haley for eviction. D has been the target, though it's been made clear to Yash that Haley will leave anyway if she remains on the block. Yash also has the veto and still could technically use it here before the veto ceremony happens. He could decide to do that.
[00:02:01] Um, and Devin's of course has the diamond power of veto, which he does plan to use on D and re nominate, or not re nominate, nominate Kamu. That's what the morning is about. Devin's tells the cameras what he's about to do could get him evicted, but you can't play scared and he'd hate to leave without having gone for it because he's trying to please everyone. Uh, yeah, yeah, I completely agree.
[00:02:30] I kind of think that that's why like the, the icons are there. They're kind of playing with house money a little bit. They've had their experience on these shows. They don't have to be super particular and careful with their gameplay because they have played before. Yes. They want to win, but I think they also know that they were kind of brought here to make sure that they make some good TV. So Devin's is known to play a little frantically and, you know, make these big moves and make these big decisions that might not be the best for his game.
[00:02:58] And so he, he's planning on doing it and then I, I respect him for it. I mean, I'd argue that the reason they're there, the reason they are people who are brought back is because they are the kinds of people that make these kinds of moves. Uh, and that if you want to go on shows, you need to be making these kinds of moves because that is what gets you brought back.
[00:03:21] Um, not to mention the fact that, you know, I think even discounting that, I think that like, yeah, playing scared is probably the worst thing you can do both for television, but also generally for your game. Playing scared is usually not the way to go. Um, but it's what he's going to do.
[00:03:42] And he confirms with D, uh, also, and we, I had speculated about this, uh, that, um, that even though the right move, obviously for Yash is to use the veto on Haley and really to nominate Devin's, but maybe even nominate, uh, Barrett.
[00:03:59] That if that happened, uh, Devin's might change his plan for who he would nominate, uh, that instead of Kamu, he might nominate Taylor just to give Barrett or D or whoever else is on the block a better chance at the blockbuster. And he actually had exactly that idea. He tells D in the morning, if Yash pulls a fast one and uses the veto, I'll just put up Taylor instead so that you have a better chance of winning the blockbuster.
[00:04:28] Uh, so good thing Taylor didn't push the Devin's idea too much, even though that was the better idea in general. Absolutely. Um, maybe she just knows though, like, like her spidey senses were coming in to not actually push it forward too much because yeah, she might've had an idea that that could have been a potential outcome without knowing specifically, like just her spidey senses may have gone off. Yes. Uh, so, um, so we continue.
[00:04:58] Through the day before the veto ceremony, there's really not much happening. Uh, but, uh, but there is something that is happening that, uh, that, that it's going on. It's, it's mostly just like, you know, are, is, is, is Yash going to figure this out? There's a little bit of talk of, uh, between melody and Mallory about like, man, really wish Kamu could go on the block.
[00:05:28] You know, I really just want to see what Kamu's like when he's on the block, man. I just wish that he was on. It's, uh, I, I can't all, I can only imagine what's going on in their minds as it happens in front of them right after they have this conversation. Oh my God. They must've been so like, ah, like prayers have been spoken because obviously he's the biggest comp beast of the season. He's also really good at re-assimilating with people that he may have just like screwed over.
[00:05:58] He's doesn't care about his allies willing to not use vetoes on them. And so he's a dangerous player. And so I would want him out for sure. And Ooh, I would just be like salivating if, uh, if I was at that ceremony. Yes. Uh, Drew and Angela also have a conversation in the kitchen. Uh, they're talking about like, who's, who's who? Like who, who can we compare each person to? The Kamu is Paul.
[00:06:26] Rome is like Matt or Derek. No, Devin's is Derek. Uh, you know, Mallory is Nicole Anthony. Melody is like Leah or Catherine. Um, and, uh, and Melody actually is there. She says that the, the guy who cast her told her that she reminded her him of Amanda Seyfried and Kat from last season. A hundred percent. Exact place. Lyric is Lauren. Haley is Mackenzie.
[00:06:56] Chuck is Riley. And Taylor, she must, she's like Ashley, right? She must be like hiding her job. No, no, no. She's like Chelsea. Um, and it's just like, really like, cause listen, a lot of the other ones, not even that bad. They're, they're like, cause a lot of them are personality based. Maybe you could say Kamu with the beard is Paul, but honestly, Kamu does kind of play a little bit like Paul.
[00:07:26] Um, but, but Taylor is Ashley. Really? Taylor is, is, is Chelsea? No. Not from, not from what I've seen. Um, I see the lookalike comparison, obviously, like I said, but I don't think their personality, her personality is like either of them, but just the way she looks. Um, melody. Um, but yeah. It really just, it really just feels like we're, we're racking our brains in this house to be like, what other black women have played this game?
[00:07:55] It's just like, come on guys. Like, they could leave it like Taylor, like Taylor, you know, not a similar at all. Um, so the veto ceremony happens and of course it goes down. Devon's first Yash does not use the veto. Then Devon's uses the diamond power of veto.
[00:08:24] Uh, I believe Devon says that he, he said the line, I'm sorry, Yash, but this veto ceremony has only just begun. Uh, and then goes ahead and takes D down and nominates Kamu in her place. Uh, D is now off the block. Devon's now does not have, uh, the diamond power of veto. It is gone from his icon.
[00:08:53] I also realized that, uh, that Devon's indeed need to be swapped here. Alphabetical. Um, but, uh, but there it is. It has officially happened. Kamu is on the block. I'm live on my Patreon ready for this, the feeds to come back from the ceremony. Uh, because, uh, hopefully chaos, uh, abounds, um, as they were supposed to be calling out Kamu's game and, and throwing him under the bus.
[00:09:22] And making a huge play. Uh, and when the feeds came back. They didn't do it. Nothing. They didn't call anybody out at all. And then they have the gall to be like, yeah. We're expecting more of a, more of a reaction. Nobody's going to react. If you don't do, if you don't cause them to, you can't, you're supposed to call them out. What do you mean?
[00:09:50] Were they afraid maybe that he was going to be able to like retort back, you know, something or, you know, lay out some of their cards on the table. So they just kind of got a little bit scared or just thought that the action of putting him up was going to be enough to simulate a response. I mean, listen, we didn't watch the ceremony, so I don't know exactly what happened, but like very clearly they did not throw Kamu under the bus in any serious capacity. Like it was, it was very clearly just like they made a move.
[00:10:20] Uh, and there, there wasn't a lot else going on. Um, the most that happened as D says, is that like Kamu goes to dapper up afterward. And she was like, nope. And she retells that about five times before she has a conversation with Kamu about it very quickly. And they get over, it's like, come on guys. That's, that's all we had this. The feeds were pretty disappointing post ceremony.
[00:10:48] Um, and it's in large part, I think, because again, they had planned to do this thing, but they never fully planned out what they were going to say. And so I think they just didn't really do it. And I'll also blame production because production doesn't give them a lot of space to freely talk at ceremonies. Uh, and so I think that was part of it as well. Uh, they just like, before you know it, like the ceremony's over and you're like, oh, I guess, I guess that's it. No. Um, so that was annoying.
[00:11:19] The other part of this too, though, is that like, unfortunately for us, like Kamu's a good player. He's not going to just like, he's not going to freak out. Uh, and, and be like, what, how dare you? He's going to immediately be like, okay, how do I get out of this? Um, and so, uh, so Feeds came back to a relatively quiet house here.
[00:11:45] And I think another reason why there's not necessarily a big blowout reaction is because of the blockbuster. Like, I think he knows that he also has another chance to get out of this. And so for him to freak out right now, it may actually ruin his game if he ends up staying. So he's just like, he knows to just be chill and then wait till the final outcome and then try to rebuild his relationships up until, the blockbuster. So as much as like the blockbuster is super fun to have on the live nights on the Thursday night show,
[00:12:14] uh, it kind of does take the, the, the, the wind out of the sails here for the veto competition because, or veto ceremony because, you know, they don't want to necessarily blow up their game. Yes. So, uh, in, in the, uh, post, uh, ceremony glow, uh, FAP is quite pleased with themselves.
[00:12:37] Um, and, uh, they're, they're like, wow, that worked out well for us, huh? Yeah. That's pretty good. Um, Yash and Taylor immediately start kind of going around and making sure that the votes are still there for Kamu to stay, even though this just happened. Um, remember Yash and Taylor and Kamu thought they had the votes to do what they wanted,
[00:13:04] or that they, at least they could get the votes to do what they wanted with the vote this week when it came to Haley. So with Kamu on the block, the idea is as long as Angela doesn't win the blockbuster, they still have the votes. And quite frankly, even if Angela does win the blockbuster, then, uh, you'd keep Kamu over, uh, over Haley. Um, Devin's made this move. And the idea was that D and Angela and everyone else is going to act really surprised. D and Angela knew it was coming and pretended to be surprised. That's mostly worked. People believe that they didn't know.
[00:13:33] Um, but FAP really actually didn't know. Uh, but because of this, there's this mistaken assumption that Devin's made this move completely rogue and didn't set up any pieces to make sure that it would actually land. Reality, of course, is that of course he did. He made the mosh pit to make sure that the votes would be there. Not that he even needed to do that because the reality, uh, beyond that is that they would have voted out Kamu anyway because they don't like the guy and he's a huge threat.
[00:14:00] Um, so, uh, but Yash and Taylor don't know this. They're going around to FAP being like, so, wow, wild that he did that. We're keeping Kamu though, right? And FAP at this moment is saying, you know, uh, I mean, I'm open. I'm open. Nobody's talked to me about it yet, says Mallory. Nope. Nobody's even campaigned to me yet. So, you know, I'll hear some arguments, but, uh, yeah, I'm going to be thinking on it.
[00:14:27] You think that that would also, you know, send a little signal over to Yash that maybe Kabu might not be staying or they might not want him to stay. And like, I, I get it. The icons are super threatening, but they haven't been super, super threatening competitively. And so no matter what you kind of had to recognize that like Angela or Kamu, I'm keeping Angela. I'm sorry. That's just, what's going to happen. Yeah. Their biggest competitive advantage has just got burned up in smoke.
[00:14:57] The diamond power of Edo is gone and they've collectively won like three competitions. And one of them was guaranteed to go to one of them. Uh, so like really two competitions. Um, so, uh, it's like, yeah, yeah, it's, uh, compared to like Yash Kamu and Haley's like combined eight competitions. Like, uh, yeah.
[00:15:22] Um, so, uh, there isn't, there is a key thing that happens here though. Uh, remember D tried to bribe Yash. Yash knows about D's bribe power. He was planning, uh, the other night. He was talking to Taylor. He was planning to tell Mallory and Melody about the bribe power, uh, saying, Hey, D tried to bribe me, um, to expose her power. But then also on a, on top of that, he planned to lie and say that she tried to bribe him to
[00:15:51] nominate the two of them. Um, then as a way of like getting them to be against D, then Mallory came in the room and said, I have a theory. D must have a power. It must be an HOH takeover power that she didn't use. Um, and Yash in that moment, I theorized was like, Oh, maybe I don't need to say the real power because that's even more dangerous. That makes her want D out. I'll let her continue to believe that.
[00:16:19] Um, and I think my theory was correct because here after the veto ceremony, Yash is talking to FAP and he's like, yeah. And I mean, I think she could have a, an HOH takeover power to this D so like that. It makes sense why Devin's would have saved her because he wants to keep the HOH takeover. They're still so dangerous. These vets, uh, essentially trying to make it seem like their biggest advantage has not just been burned up in smoke.
[00:16:46] Like I just said, the problem is that FAP's already been told about the bribe power. So now they know Yash is lying to them because they know she tried to bribe Yash and it comes across, I think as very like, Ooh, Oh, he's trying to, he's trying to trick us. He's trying to trick us right now. Yes. And then also then now if he's, if he ever wants to kind of lead him in a direction of how he would like the votes to go, it'd be like, Hmm, is it really in our best interest
[00:17:15] because you have been lying to us. And so he didn't get to them first, unfortunately. And so Yash is just a little bit behind here and what's going on. Yes. Mallory, I believe is the only person who has yet to be told, uh, about the bribe power, but I assume it's coming. Like there's no reason for her to not know at this point. Kamu, as I said, he takes this. Well, good gameplay.
[00:17:43] Uh, it's the same, same similar vibe as like the Rome when he was like growing down with Rome afterward. Like, yeah, man, gotta take it like a man. Um, Kamu goes to D and he's like, so what happened? She's like, well, I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I didn't even know he, I mean, I thought he might have something, but I didn't know he was going to do that. I didn't know what it was. I, I didn't even know this was going to happen at all. He's like, no, no, no. What happened with us? Oh.
[00:18:13] I mean, you tell me, Kamu, you tell me, because from what I've seen is that you've been really pushing to get D out of the game. And so, uh, what's going on, Kamu? Yeah. She says, uh, well, what happened to us is that you've been up in Yasha's HOH room all week while I've been nominated and targeted and you haven't talked to me. Um, and he's, and he's like, fair. Here's why.
[00:18:39] Uh, I was told after this, uh, another vote flip attempt by you that you were been throwing me under the bus and lying about me. Uh, and, and then the following day you were like wanting Haley out, but then you were flipping the boat to keep Haley. And I just feel like very confused about where you stand and like why you're lying and all of these things. Um, and then she's like, first of all, I have not lied about you. Uh, they try to get to the bottom of that. And of course, easy scapegoat. He uses her move.
[00:19:09] He says he blames Haley, uh, because it was that conversation with Haley that where the, you know, the Bible stuff came from, uh, though, it doesn't mention that specifically. Um, but the vote flip stuff, he's like, you know, you wanted Haley and then you, you want Haley stay, but then you wanted her out. And she was like, well, yeah, cause she was a number for us, but I also hate her. Um, and she's like, and you've been trying to get me out. And he's like, well, yeah, because of all that stuff about the lying. Uh, like, well, I don't know, you know?
[00:19:38] Um, and she's like, well, I, I wish you would have talked to me sooner. You know, why didn't you come to me? He was like, honestly, like, it was like, you'd, I already had tried. Like we already had that conversation. And she talks a lot about the power. I told you about my power. I told you about my power. He's like, I didn't tell anybody about your power. Um, but, uh, but the bottom line is that there's, there was genuine reason for distrust on both sides and that they should have just talked. And now they have.
[00:20:06] And if Kamu stays this week, there's room to rebuild moving forward. Um, and so, uh, and so that's kind of how they leave it. Well, he is really good with bygones be bygones for sure. But do you think he's lying here? Or do you think, like, do you think he'll actually start working as closely as he was with D if he were to stay in the game? Well, I mean, I think he would, if it were advantageous to him, but his pitch is that he's going after the vets.
[00:20:32] And that has to be his pitch because he's on the block against Angela. Uh, and he's never going to get the vets votes against Angela. So, um, so like he has this conversation and, and really like the thing in my mind, honestly, is like D is saying, why didn't you talk to me earlier? And, and my thing was like, D the second he was in danger, he talked to you. Prior to that, he was in power. You should have been talking to him.
[00:21:00] Like if you had had this conversation with him, maybe, you know, who knows? Maybe it would have helped. Maybe you would have avoided the targeting in the block. And maybe you did this whole diamond power veto wouldn't even need to be used. Um, but, uh, but instead she, you know, uh, tried to convince Yash with a bribe and hung out with Barrett all week. It was like, you know, like. And also though, wouldn't she be recognizing like if Kamu has been going up and spending a lot of time with Yash in the HOH room and all that stuff, like,
[00:21:30] wouldn't she maybe sense that like she should have a discussion with Kamu? Since it seems like he might have to be with. She was told straight up by Drew. She was told. Kamu's coming after you. Like, okay, go talk to Kamu. Be like, hey, Kamu, what's up? Why is Yash telling me I might go on the block? You've been up there. What, what happened to us, Kamu? Yeah. I would immediately. And have, and have this thing, have this breakdown with Kamu, uh, at the worst. What's the worst that could happen in that conversation?
[00:22:00] You're already going up the block. He's already targeting you. Uh, you never know. Um, so, uh, it's a good conversation. I think, uh, on Kamu's end, it's just, again, it just like, it doesn't really matter. Uh, it's good instincts from him, but, uh, but at the end of the day, with Kamu on the block here, as I said, he's up against Angela and, uh, and Haley. And that means that his most likely situation where he stays on the block is against Angela. So Haley beats him in the blockbuster.
[00:22:30] He's up on the block against Angela. He's never getting Devin's and D, uh, their votes against Angela. So he can't really pitch to the vets very successfully. He needs to pitch to FAP. Um, and his pitch to FAP is I'm going after the vets. And so if his pitches, I'm going after the vets, he can't really pitch to the vets. Hey, if Angela wins and I'm up against Haley, keep me over Haley. When he's like banging the drum of being anti-vet, uh, he has to kind of pick a lane.
[00:22:58] And it seems like he, over the course of the day, realizes that his lane has to be, I'm anti-vet. Um, which I think makes, it should make the most amount of sense, but here's why it might actually not make sense. I think that against Angela, it's just a lost cause period. Uh, he's just never going to stay. Uh, and against Haley, that's where he actually has a shot.
[00:23:24] And if he was able to convince the vets that they should keep him over Haley because he could work with them and Haley couldn't, that would be enough for him to stay. All three vets plus, uh, Taylor and Lala would be enough to keep Kamu over Haley. Um, and yes, that's the less likely outcome, but it's the outcome that he actually could flip the votes for. Not to mention the fact that if he got the vets to keep him over Haley, they would try to work on FAP if they wanted to, or it's the vets.
[00:23:51] They might just flip the vote on their own to do that if they wanted to. Now you might be saying, come on, Taryn, why would Devins keep Kamu after putting him up on the block? Um, to which I would reply, this is Devins and Dee we're talking about. They've been doing all kinds of wild stuff. Uh, and Dee is already very concerned about this new mosh pit alliance and how like she's worried that Drew might flip and all of this stuff.
[00:24:16] If Kamu did work on, uh, uh, like Angela, um, uh, Dee and Devins, uh, Angela would vote in the, in the event that she won the blockbuster and Kamu's up against Haley. Uh, then, um, then there there's, I think a better chance he could flip them who are the volatile voters and Devins would go along with Dee, I believe if he thought, Hey, we can really actually reconnect with Kamu. He likes, he didn't want to do this.
[00:24:43] He would love to be able to, to like mend this and be like, okay, moving forward. Now we're doing this. Uh, if he believed that it were true, it obviously take quite a, quite a convincing, but kind of the point being, um, I don't think that Kamu's pitch to be anti vet is number one, good as we'll hear from Mallory. She has great reasons why it wouldn't work. And number two, less likely to work. The vets like him on a personal level and reluctantly are targeting him.
[00:25:10] Fap don't like him on a personal level and are gleefully targeting him. Um, so, uh, so that's why I think he should move in that direction though. I don't blame him too much for thinking that his best shot is to pitch anti vet. Now on Angela's first season, did she ever win a blockbuster? I don't remember off the top of my head. I don't believe she won a blockbuster. No. So this scenario is not likely with, um, what we've seen.
[00:25:40] No, it's not likely. Yeah, not at all. And, and the fact is that Kamu kind of just needs to win the blockbuster. Like he, again, the, the entire premise of the argument is that he has no shot against Angela on the block. Uh, and so the only campaigning that even matters is in the event that Angela wins the blockbuster against Haley, uh, and then he's against Haley. Right. Of course. Um, and I kind of feel like he's going to win the blockbuster.
[00:26:08] Like it just, it just seems like it's trajectory. Yeah. Uh, anyway, Drew and Melody tell Devin's they're really happy with the nomination. Kamu is going for sure. If he doesn't win the blockbuster, Angela is really happy. She's pleased that the power worked out in the way that, uh, it did. She's not upset that he didn't tell her. Um, Mallory is super happy.
[00:26:34] Uh, she's like, uh, every part of my being dislikes every part of Kamu's being, and I'm so ready for him to leave this house. Uh, which is kind of, which is what I'm talking about, right? Like these people are much less likely to be convinced to keep Kamu over Haley. Uh, and certainly over Angela. Um, Melody and Mallory do agree. They are in a little bit of a tricky position because they are being courted by Yash and
[00:27:02] Taylor, uh, to kind of join their side. And Yash and Taylor kind of expect them to vote with them to keep Kamu. Uh, that's what those conversations were already being had were about. And they were like, well, we haven't even talked to the nominees yet. Uh, so the question becomes, what do we tell them? Do we tell them? Uh, do we string them along and blindside them? Or do we tell them up front? Yeah, I don't think we want to keep Kamu.
[00:27:29] Uh, obviously telling them up front is better to maintain their relationships with Yash and Taylor, but it could also leak to Kamu. And then if he wins the blockbuster, they've blown up their spot with Kamu. Um, so what do they do? Well, we know their motivation here. Their motivation is this vote is great. Uh, I want Kamu gone. It's I'm happy to work.
[00:27:56] They're happy to work with Moshpit for now to take out a player like Kamu. But Moshpit is not their long-term plan. They want to flip back over and work with Taylor. So they don't want to damage that relationship by blindsiding her and Yash. And so what they want to do is talk to Taylor and Yash and tell them, listen, we got to be honest. Kamu and Haley are on the block.
[00:28:26] It would be a wild decision to vote out Angela over one of them. Like one of them has to go. Um, they just want to make sure that the door remains open for them to then work with Taylor and Yash after Kamu is gone, which obviously makes a lot of sense for the both of them. The danger is, of course, that Yash and Taylor are like, well, screw you then. And they tell Kamu and they're in trouble. But the idea is to try to work their relationship moving forward.
[00:28:55] And quite frankly, I think, in my opinion, I think this is the correct move because if that were Taylor and Yash's response, then the path to working with them wasn't a very good one in the first place. And maybe you do just need to stick with Moshpit. Well, absolutely. And then if it did fail, like they're going to be not on good terms with them anyways as well. What would be best for you in the game?
[00:29:23] And you usually want to try to come to an agreement. But if it's not the case, it's like it is good for them to like let them know where they're staying with their stand and to see what happens then. So now they kind of will know whether or not they can work with Yash and Taylor. So they'll find out another way. Interesting stuff. And I'm really liking how Mallory and Melody are moving in the game right now. Speaking of moving, Drew is up in the gym.
[00:29:52] He's on the elliptical and he has a long camera talk, which includes a good little history lesson. Behind the mirror. Shout out. Let's go. Good little history lesson. Did your heart like flutter when you heard your name though? It must have been like, it's a little jarring, you know? I was in a meeting. Actually, you were also in the meeting, Chantel, when this happened.
[00:30:22] So I was not watching live. Drew tells the cameras he recognizes that he's on the bottom of both alliances, crossovers and FAP. And he's been throwing competitions. So he's not sure if he should start winning the competitions now or if he should continue to throw competitions. It's a very long camera talk. He talks a lot about his own game and how he sees it.
[00:30:50] He feels like he's had at least some hand in most of the evictions. And it's a pretty decently accurate take. He inflates a little bit here and there. But for the most part, like, yes, he played an instrumental role in shutting down the flip for Ashley to stay. Whether that was a good thing or not is a question. And then during week two, he was the key piece of information that ratted out Jason and therefore Rome.
[00:31:21] Then week three, he was the one that convinced Kamu to backdoor Jason. He's leaving out the part where he then tried to keep Mallory, even though she was one that like all that stuff and failed and then became a target. And then his whole game blew up because in part because of that after that. Um, but, uh, so he certainly didn't have anything to do with Haley's HOH.
[00:31:45] But, uh, but then, uh, you know, last week, uh, he was like, uh, what, what even happened last week? Chuck, Chuck happened. I don't, I don't remember what he said about that week. Uh, but then he said like, uh, this week I did a good job. Uh, I, I helped keep Barrett off the block and, uh, and this genuinely is his best week just in terms of like, uh, convincing Yash and Kamu that they had his vote, which helped
[00:32:13] prevent them from coming up with the necessary idea of using the veto. Um, and even though of course Yash had, uh, these weren't Yash's initial nomination ideas, they do, they did, they did have a lengthy discussion up in the HOH room where they did consider putting Barrett up instead. And Drew helped shut that down. Um, so, uh, that's kind of how he's seeing things. Um, and he says very importantly, he ranks FAP over the icons.
[00:32:41] He is not prioritizing the icons over FAP. And I think this has been the major key part of his game that has shifted things like things have been working out so much better for Drew, including the fact that I think as soon as he started prioritizing FAP over the icons, they started, the icons started trusting him more. Yeah, it's odd how this works. Because he stopped dropping all of his sensitive information to them to cause them to not trust him.
[00:33:10] Um, so, uh, this is all good stuff. This is all very good stuff from Drew. But now, I mean, and I, I totally agree. And I'm happy that he was able to spare, like share it all with us, except the elliptical was a little bit like, drove me a little bit crazy, but you know, we can't have it all. Um, but the fact that the D is still like, doesn't, isn't trusting him again. And I'm just like wondering what, why he can't see that whatever he's doing is like kind of rubbing her the wrong way.
[00:33:38] Like, it seems like, you know, she doesn't like her. He doesn't like, she doesn't like him talking to Hayley or talking to other people. And, you know, that's been a common theme the whole season. So I'm just wondering why he just hasn't maybe had a conversation with D about like, you know, his role in their, in their friendship or alliance, et cetera, et cetera. Yes. Um, I mean, I, I think, I mean, at the end of the day, this is still Drew and it's still
[00:34:01] D, you know, it's like, uh, but he, he, he like recognizes that he, uh, that the, cause he's been told about D like, he knows, he knows that they found him to be a little sketch, um, and that he was talking too much and that he has stopped talking as much. And that I think has helped, which obviously it has. Um, he is also going to flirt with the cameras a bit, uh, doing his best Dr. Will, I think impression.
[00:34:29] Um, and, uh, and then Drew, I'm sorry, but just, just cause you're shouting at my book, it doesn't mean I'm not going to be on your neck. What do you mean that again, that Taylor is the modern day Danielle Reyes? Dude. I thought she was Ashley. What do you mean? Like, what are we doing here? Um, maybe he's only read your book, but he hasn't actually watched all the seasons. Cause what he said, he started watching 14 years ago.
[00:34:57] Danielle Reyes is quite prominent in my book, but. Yeah. Maybe that's the only reason then why, because like, he must not have seen the actual season. He said it before, since she was Ashley earlier. Like, what are we doing? Um, anyway, uh, he finishes the, the, the camera talk, uh, and, uh, he is going to talk to Melody and Mallory afterward.
[00:35:25] Um, and, uh, and he tells them all about his trysts with the cameras. Um, and, uh, he, they talk about like this dilemma that we're talking about where do Melody and Mallory tell Taylor and Yash about evicting Kamu, uh, or do they wait until closer to the eviction? Um, they ultimately come to the conclusion that Melody and Mallory should say something
[00:35:51] tonight to Taylor and Yash, but Drew will hold off until Wednesday. Um, and in the meantime, they will all still pretend to Kamu that they're keeping him. Um, and, and they are going to ask Taylor and Yash to not tell Kamu that they plan to evict him. Um, and that's kind of the general strategy. And again, I think it's a pretty good one. Still need a lot of trust there. So we'll, we'll find out if they're going to hold their secrets or not.
[00:36:22] Yeah. Um, so, uh, Mallory talks to Taylor. And she says, listen, being honest, like this is the best chance we have to take Kamu out. Like people are going to all be so scared to take a shot at him. Uh, after this, he's such a good competitor. Uh, if he's on the block, he doesn't win the blockbuster. Like we got it.
[00:36:51] We got to take that shot. Like, I'm sorry. I just don't trust the guy. He nominated me. Um, and, and Taylor says, you know what? That makes sense. Uh, and she's like, I, thank you. I'm just, I'm just thinking about what happens after the icons are gone. Uh, like, yeah, we can keep Kamu to go after them now, but like what happens once they're gone?
[00:37:20] Then we have Kamu to deal with still. Right. So it would make sense to take a shot at him here. Um, at the end of the day, the icons just aren't that great at comps compared to Kamu and, and, and them. So like, yeah, it, we're still against them. We're still anti-icon. We'll still take them out. But we have a better shot to take right now. Angela's not the threat. Uh, and, uh, and again, Taylor agrees. Um, she says, Hey, at the end of the day, Haley put me up and Kamu put you up.
[00:37:50] And that's the other part of it too. She says, even if we don't get Kamu, we could also get Haley. Uh, like, and I'd, I'd like to get one of them. And, and this is, this is a great line. I think from Mallory, she says, if we don't get Kamu and we get Haley instead, like it's Kamu wins the blockbuster, Haley leaves. That would allow me to trust Kamu more moving forward because Haley won't be here.
[00:38:14] Um, and it's just, it's a great sort of way of, of proposing this, which is like, we have to get Kamu if we have the shot, but if we don't get Kamu, we get Haley. And if we do get Haley, I trust Kamu now and I'm willing to work with him. Um, and it's all, it's all perfect. Um, yeah, I, I wonder how it's going to go down on Thursday though. I feel like, I feel like it's like Haley is going to be the one that goes. And so I think it's good for them, her to like have finesse this relationship with Taylor
[00:38:43] and have Kamu stay like he likely stays and like, and then work with them in the end. And so I do think that framing this is perfect. Cause I do think this is just a way that the week's going to play out. It's a great conversation. It goes very well. Taylor seems completely on board with Mallory's thought process. We'll see if she tries to like change it again, moving forward. But, uh, but for now things have gone well for Mallory here.
[00:39:12] Um, the night continues. It's a pretty slow night. Otherwise, uh, there are going to be some things like FAP reenacting challengers, like actually like doing the line, like, like, Hey Zendaya. Yeah. Um, D tells Devin to play tennis. Yes. Yeah. They did it all.
[00:39:37] D tells Devin, she's super grateful for the diamond power of veto, uh, move. Obviously she says, I'm, you know, I'd be willing to throw a blockbuster to you in the future at this point. Like if, if, if it comes down to the two of us, like, uh, I'll throw myself on the grenade. Um, she is though concerned. She's like, I'm just, I am worried about true. I'm worried he might flip on us this week. Devin says, I'm not worried about it. It's fine. Stop. We're going to be okay. And that's on the block.
[00:40:07] That's your safety net here. Um, there is, there has been a lot of talk about D, uh, you know, being concerned about drew. This is like the third time she's brought it up. Uh, so this is, again, I think just further evidence. That like this Alliance is not going to hold. Uh, it's been shaky in the past and there's all kinds of movement in all kinds of directions. Um, Angela has her birthday.
[00:40:37] They sing her happy birthday. She makes a speech. They do a show. Uh, it's, it's, it's a nice, it's a nice time. Got a little rose from Mallory. I wanted it to be longer though. Cause I was like, okay, you got some jokes in here. I want to hear a little bit more. That'd have been kind of fun. Yeah. She was like, I can't go too hard. I'm playing a game where I want people to like me. And then she had like three jokes. I mean, they were not bad jokes.
[00:41:03] Uh, but I will, we know Mallory can do, we know Melody can do better. Um, the night continues. Kamu talks to Yash. Uh, and he says that, uh, obviously he's looking to stay. He's sort of, um, he's sort of shaping his, uh, campaign direction, which is what I was talking about before. It's anti vet. He says, my campaign is I'm going to stay.
[00:41:31] I'm going to nominate D and I'm a Devins. Now I assume this is not part of the campaign for the other people. But to Yash, he says his third nominee is Barrett still Barrett. Uh, so Barrett despite, and this is why, listen, last night I gave Barrett not a great rating because I really did not like the way he played this week. It's like just stuck like glue to D, um, and nearly was targeted. Uh, he is still not out of the woods for, uh, this other side.
[00:42:00] They're still looking at not D Devins and Angela, but D Devins and Barrett as nominees, uh, for the next week. Um, Kamu does pitch to Mallory. Because Barrett's like a huge number obviously for D and I'm, I like Barrett seems to be a pretty big fan. He's done his own call outs of the, of RHAP, et cetera, et cetera. And I'm just like, I, I, I want him to have better game sense or like be playing a little bit harder. He's just, he's coasting too much.
[00:42:28] And so maybe he needs to be put up again just to like, you know, snap him into game mode. But you know, he's, he's too chill for me. I'm like, I want, I want better Barrett to be a better big brother player. I just want that as alliteration. Um, so, uh, Kamu continues his campaign. He pitches to Mallory. He says, uh, he's, he really starts to go in with Mallory.
[00:42:54] Um, uh, but then gets interrupted when Angela joins, but he was telling her, listen, I was originally working with the icons in an alliance called the red corner. Uh, but now I'm going after them. So he is dumping this information, uh, as I expected he might. Um, and this is what he generally should be doing. Um, maybe be a little more, uh, intentional about it.
[00:43:19] Uh, maybe he meant to be, but then they got interrupted, but, uh, he's again, he's pitching to Mallory. I'm anti icon. He's now giving some information about how he used to be working with them. He's going to tell the story about how they iced him out of votes and stuff like that. Um, but again, the issue is that I don't think this pitch is effective on Mallory in the way that he might think it is because Mallory doesn't like him very much because, you know, he's not
[00:43:47] a very likable person to Mallory, uh, in the ways that he has been talking to Mallory and melody. Uh, and he doesn't quite see that. Um, and his pitch to be like, Hey, I'm, you need me to go after the icons. Mallory already doesn't agree with that pitch. It's not a very good one. Uh, they don't need, uh, Kamu to go after the icons. They still have Yash, who's an incredible competitor. They have Haley would still be there. Who's a good competitor.
[00:44:15] Uh, Mallory Barrett, like they still have plenty of people who can beat the icons and competitions. Uh, as we've been talking about all, all update, the icons actually haven't been that great at competitions themselves. So it's, they don't need him. And then his pitch is that you need me. And they're like, I don't think we do. Yeah. He's getting, might need to pivot if he wants to gain any traction with that. Yeah.
[00:44:44] Um, yeah. That's like the most indicative one was the fact that with, um, the knockout comp, how badly they played it. They're probably like, Oh, they played this so badly. Like we're keeping them in the game forever because they allowed everybody else have a better opportunity to win that competition. So yeah, I think the fact that, you know, two out of the three of them don't really know
[00:45:12] big brother that well, I think it's also a kind of a sell to keep them in the game or for them to go after them without needing Kamu at all. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Just feels like a dead end ultimately to, to pitch in this direction though. Again, I understand why he's trying. Um, Drew talks to Kamu late into the night. This is one of our final conversations. Uh, he, Drew is fully pretending he is still on Kamu's side. Um, just fully like, yeah, of course you've got my vote.
[00:45:42] Um, and, and Kamu's like, be honest. Like you, you really think I'm good if I'm sitting next to either one? And Drew's like, I really, I, I think so. I mean, especially, uh, next to Haley. I think Haley goes against anybody. Um, but I think you're still good even against Angela. Uh, and they count the votes and they include Melody and Mallory. Um, like, Hey, cause they were anti-icon. Uh, and so, uh, Drew doing some work to try to make Kamu feel a little more comfortable
[00:46:10] here and pretend that he's still with him. In fact, Drew even gets a little ambitious and he says, I mean, if anything, Haley winning Blockbuster is best case scenario to keep both of you because Haley can't be Angela in a vote, but you can. Um, and so do I think Kamu would actually be willing to allow Haley to win the Blockbuster? Absolutely not. Uh, but, uh, but this is obviously like Drew is very much trying to play Kamu here and Kamu seems to be buying into it.
[00:46:39] I think though his competitive edge is going to kick in there. They're buying into it. Yes. In the sense that he believes Drew is with him. Not like I said, buying into it in the sense he would throw the Blockbuster. Right. So, I mean, it's a good conversation for sure. I do think that Drew did a good job here. He's a, he's a decent liar. Maybe that's what's tipping off. Like, he's good at lying. I believe him. I trust him. So, like, maybe that's what the problem is. Um, but with Kamu, I feel like he's walking into a trap, but we'll see how he comes out
[00:47:09] on the other side. Yeah. Uh, and so that's pretty much it. I mean, it's, it's a pretty sort of, uh, we've kind of set up the pieces for the rest of the week. The main thing is going to be Melody and Mallory convincing Taylor and Yash to be okay with letting them vote out Kamu. Kamu continuing to, you know, campaign in the way that he's been trying to campaign.
[00:47:31] Um, and, uh, and then like, basically the main thing is how do Taylor and Yash deal with the rest of this week because they need to figure out where they're going. And if Kamu stays, there's a path there, but they could still be in trouble because if they don't win HOH, they're in trouble. And if Kamu goes in some ways, it might be even better for them because now I think Melody and Mallory are much more willing to hop over.
[00:47:59] Uh, and the whole thing could be kind of flipped on its head. Um, so some interesting stuff, some interesting stuff moving forward here. Yes. Even though it wasn't as explosive as I was hoping it to be, I was like really excited. Um, I do think that this week's results, like the rest of the week could be interesting the way like it could shape out. So it's a strong week, but, uh, not so strong aftermath after the diamond power of veto was used.
[00:48:28] Now, who do we think is going to be winning the final power? Um, at this point, do we think it's going to be Drew Barrett or all the polls seem to suggest Drew is, uh, is heavily in the lead with the online fan base. Uh, but who knows? I, the, the other name I've heard of course is Taylor. Um, that's, you know, I think that's probably like the more interesting option, but, um, but, uh, but who knows?
[00:48:57] Because the casual audience could also come in and sort of stomp their feet in any direction that they want as well. So, uh, we will have to wait and see on that one. And the final one is that head of household takeover is the final one, correct? Or is it something else? No, I mean, it's like, there is a, there's the coin, uh, which is. Sorry, coin of destiny. That's what we have left. But there are also like, you know, three other powers that they could get, including
[00:49:25] never not pass, uh, guest veto and back-to-back HOH win, uh, thing. Okay. Forgot. Okay. So there's a one in seven chance that the person gets the coin flip. Uh, there's a three in seven chance they get another punishment, you know? So, well, I, I mean, I do think that big brother wants some of these good powers to be used. So if they can finesse it in some sort of way, at least allow this person to get it,
[00:49:54] to potentially use it, that would be kind of fun. So hopefully that happens. We'll see. Uh, anything else you wanted to bring up Chantal? Not really. Uh, just like I said, I was surprised that there wasn't more to talk about today. Um, but it was like a fun, happy birthday for Angela. Um, you know, she wasn't, she didn't cry or anything like that, that I, I don't remember her crying. Um, she got to have her little talent show, which was kind of fun to give her speech.
[00:50:21] So I'm happy that she had a positive birthday. And I mean, it would have been better probably for her if the diamond power feeder was used on her, but we know that it had to be used on D because, uh, D is obviously a bigger threat. And if she's on the block, likely people would have taken her out. So yeah. It was a good day. All right. Well, that is what we have for you then today. Of course, I'll be back tomorrow morning, 11 a.m.
[00:50:46] Eastern to update on everything that happens today on the big brother 28 live feeds. Uh, check out the round table last night. We had some good stuff there. I also, like I said, I streamed on Patreon for when the feeds came back. It wasn't like the most exciting post-navito ceremony, uh, feeds in the world, but you can still experience, uh, the, uh, the chatter and the talk that happened afterward. If you want over on my Patreon. Uh, and then, uh, tomorrow night, of course, we'll have an episode.
[00:51:16] We'll keep moving forward with the season. That's what we've got. Thank you all so much for joining us here today. And I will see all of you next time.
