[00:00:43] [SPEAKER_02] Hello everyone and good morning welcome to our final live feed update this time for October 1st I'm your host Taran Armstrong and I'm here to update you on everything that happened yesterday and today on the Big Brother 28 live feeds yesterday was day 86 and today

[00:01:11] [SPEAKER_02] is day 87 as of roughly 30 minutes ago the feeds have gone down for good on Big Brother 28 and we're here we did it it is the final update of the entire season the finale is tonight where we will crown a winner of Big Brother 28 and and from there we move forward but for now

[00:01:41] [SPEAKER_02] for today for right this moment we've got a lot to talk about because over the last few days the last like almost week things have been pretty locked in place right Devins Taylor drew are the final three we knew parts one and twos winners very early on in the week Devins and Taylor will be facing off in part three we knew parts one and two winners very early on in the week Devins and Taylor will be facing off in part three and we'll be facing off in part three.

[00:02:12] [SPEAKER_02] Devins made a campaign to Taylor to try to make a deal with her to get her to take him to the end where he said that he kind of implied that he would not vote for her and would try to get other people to not vote for her if he were sitting on the jury as a way to encourage her to take him to the end which Taylor did not appreciate it shut down all conversation and ever since just yesterday I was talking about how the vibe is that it's mostly

[00:02:41] [SPEAKER_02] Rick Devins and Drew and Drew and Drew and Drew and Drew and Drew and Drew and Drew and Drew and Taylor and Drew and Taylor not really having any individual private conversations no deal making no nothing and how unusual that was for a final three especially for final three where the parts one and two winners are facing off in part three and they're not talking to each other that's kind of wild well here's the deal

[00:03:09] [SPEAKER_02] they had a conversation and at the last moment as is always the case here on Big Brother 28 things might have actually shifted and we might be seeing a different result tonight than we anticipated all week long so stay tuned for that but I've got some more stuff for you as well here on our final update

[00:03:41] [SPEAKER_02] first so we'll see you next time but he is definitely prepared for tonight's part three HOH

[00:04:10] [SPEAKER_02] so all that drama brought us here I I do have what I would approximate as as close to the final speeches as we might imagine at least the ones that they were practicing prior to the shifting that happened later in the night so I'm going to give you roughly the most sort of like up-to-date accurate version of what we might be able to anticipate for their final speeches

[00:04:40] [SPEAKER_02] uh Rick Devins you've already heard most of his has been the most sort of like formulated he's I think Devins is sort of like at least out loud easy to understand prepped the most for his final speech uh it's something along the lines of this uh giving up a whole summer with my family I needed to give this game everything I'm really proud of how I played I took big swings every chance I got I won the most competitions I fought hard for my number one alliance

[00:05:09] [SPEAKER_02] and tried to be a good roommate I was on the right side of every vote every eviction went the way I wanted it to I was the last house guest to be put on the nomination block and even then it's because I volunteered to help my alliance the first three times I was on the nomination block I won blockbuster twice and then won veto during the double eviction final four was the first time I was vulnerable to an eviction night vote I tried hard to separate gameplay and personal Lala you once called me a killer and it's true

[00:05:39] [SPEAKER_02] but I always tried to offer up a pep talk or a shoulder to cry on or someone to laugh with even if I'm not great at that at the emotional stuff I love you guys and I'm grateful to you all for making this summer making this a summer I'll never forget short condensed he's fit it within a minute he's practiced it so he can make sure he can get it within a minute and I would say it's pretty good it's pretty good and like I said

[00:06:08] [SPEAKER_02] relatively concise Drew on the other hand has a couple of different iterations of things that he's been practicing I imagine a lot of it is like stuff he plans to say via questions maybe some of it's stuff he wants to say at the end he also is not quite as concise he's a little more still trying to get it down to exactly what he wants to say

[00:06:37] [SPEAKER_02] but he's got so I've got like kind of two two potential versions these are largely things that Drew's planning to say he says I wanted to sit in these final two chairs ever since I was eight years old and the fact that I'm here is a dream but the dream's not over yet I want to be your winner this season I played a great social game a great strategic game and a great competitive game I was constantly adapting each week no matter what I had to do I made hard decisions I was the deciding vote twice this season I was put on the block five times

[00:07:07] [SPEAKER_02] I pulled myself off every time I never got an easy ride but I didn't care because I love this game I think it'd be hard to find somebody who had more fun than me this season I made hard decisions when I had to and I made my life harder when I didn't need to but it's because I love this game I played every hour played every day every hour every minute and every second I did it all for the love of the game and every decision I made got me one step closer because if there's one thing you guys will never forget the kid's still here

[00:07:37] [SPEAKER_02] I've lied I've made promises I couldn't keep but it's because I needed to get here it was all to get me one step closer thank you he kind of then continues and then adapts it later in the night I've lied I've made promises I couldn't keep but it's because I needed to get here and then he also talks he talks through some of his his game through the season these might be more question answers when my spot when my spot blew up at week seven

[00:08:06] [SPEAKER_02] I had to show my cards I knew the only way I could get to the end of this game was to win out so I turned up my competition game I won an HOH I won three vetoes after that I won out to get here I was nominated five times I pulled myself off five times I did not even say an eviction speech this whole summer until today my very first one playing the middle of the whole summer I had to adapt I can't play the middle anymore I had to win I couldn't play the middle anymore I had to win competitions I had to adapt every way you could play this game I played it

[00:08:37] [SPEAKER_02] and I'm sorry and I in this game I may have lied again it's a little like I said it's a little bit not polished quite yet I may have broken a lot of promises but the only promise I kept to myself is to get to that next week the only promise I ever kept was that promise and I'm sorry I burned you guys and maybe I'm sorry the way I did it in some ways I burned you but it was all to get to that next week and then he also practiced a line

[00:09:07] [SPEAKER_02] against Devins he may be from Survivor but this game was survival season 28 has been nothing but chaotic unpredictable and fun and if there's a game that best describes all of those things it's been mine so jury let me be the one to honor our season and vote me to be the winner and don't forget the kid's still here there's good parts to it he just I haven't heard him string it together in a way that actually fits right like I said

[00:09:36] [SPEAKER_02] Devins is practicing for 60 seconds because he knows he has 60 seconds and this is important because I say it's important none of it's particularly important because speeches probably don't matter but it definitely looks bad if you come off a little rambly and get cut off right so like being able to concisely fit your speech into the time slot afforded to you you know

[00:10:06] [SPEAKER_02] is usually what you'd want to do here he still has plenty of time and I don't think he I'm sure he will get there but sometimes players don't Taylor's is the hardest to pin down because she's not speaking as loud it's harder to hear what she's saying and she's also practicing for certain questions as well so it's hard to say exactly what her speech would be but she's saying some things along the lines

[00:10:35] [SPEAKER_02] of I love when people refer to me as a pod player pod almighty I wasn't just in my pod I was playing praying planning prepping and processing my next moves whether it was making a checklist for the day figuring out what I needed to do with people or strategizing about how keeping me would benefit someone's game if I was on the block I was preparing I was underestimated I was considered an underdog socially and strategically my pod was my protection and my safety I didn't float I fought I didn't cruise

[00:11:05] [SPEAKER_02] I controlled narratives and perceptions I have absolutely no regrets I'm still standing right here I played this game with honesty and integrity I never sold out my allies and she also at one point calls Devins the final boss that only she was able to take out of course because she plans to cut Devins to take Drew to the end at least she did at the time of practicing these questions

[00:11:36] [SPEAKER_02] so bottom line I think Taylor has some very good lines here I just again I don't know exactly how she plans to piece it all together but I would not be surprised at all if Taylor does very well in these final speeches the question then would be you know does it make a difference right so here's so those are the speeches those are like

[00:12:05] [SPEAKER_02] in part what we might expect to hear tonight on finale but there's also some things we might expect to see when it comes to decision making by the final HOH winner Taylor approaches Devins she says hey Devins can we talk and it's a brief conversation

[00:12:36] [SPEAKER_02] but she goes up to Devins and she says listen Devins you know I'm pretty honest with myself and I know you promised Drew you would take him to the end and I know you're a man of your word Devins like wait is that sarcasm I couldn't tell he goes no no no no I was just thinking of what you said about your alliance being in jury you don't think you would need Drew's vote for your fourth and Devins is like what do you mean it kind of depends like why are you

[00:13:06] [SPEAKER_02] asking she says well I'm just thinking because I just know the kinds of things Yash and Lala and Melody said about you and I'm thinking like dang if he just told me he'd go out there and make Angela and Dee not vote for me I'm like hmm so I'm thinking do you need Drew as your fourth vote it just seems like the same reason you said I should take you is the same

[00:13:36] [SPEAKER_02] reason you should take me and he goes oh okay I okay I hear you well would you take me she goes I don't and he laughs she says you you said you weren't gonna take me I was just thinking I'm just telling I was just thinking don't you think you need Drew as your fourth vote that's what I was thinking

[00:14:05] [SPEAKER_02] Devin says well I mean I wouldn't cut Drew without some sort of agreement between us she says what would that agreement be that we take each other okay I mean I wouldn't be mad at that at all he says you really you really wouldn't be you would be open to that she says yeah because I mean what it seems like is you'll win and take Drew and I'll be done for what we could say you know what why don't we both make a final two deal

[00:14:36] [SPEAKER_02] and make sure we both get something in worst case I lose to an honorable man something is better than nothing Devin says well I mean I'm not gonna lie I'd be real nervous about you like changing your mind at the end because I wouldn't I like the idea of guaranteeing we both get something he says okay I I just need I need to think about this because I don't I don't want to burn Drew lightly he says yeah I'll think about it listen the game is about making sure you have your votes in jury

[00:15:06] [SPEAKER_02] and it's not like Drew was taking you anyway just saying and she leaves the room and let me tell you after she leaves the room Devin's stands there dressed and thinking now to be clear Devin's said to the cameras

[00:15:35] [SPEAKER_02] days ago almost a week ago now that he was willing to lie to Taylor and pretend like he was willing to take her in order to try to convince her to take him so it's certainly possible that that entire conversation at this point is not true right we have to hear from Devin's when he talks to the cameras but what I will say is I mean this was this was brilliant from Taylor

[00:16:06] [SPEAKER_02] because she when Devin's approached her he used this exact strategy I'm gonna go to the jury and I'm gonna tell Angela and D I'm gonna make sure they vote for Drew to which Taylor went stupid you don't have time to do that you don't get to talk to the jury she knows how it works you go and you sit on the chairs and you don't have time to convince anybody of anything

[00:16:36] [SPEAKER_02] so she didn't take the threat very seriously and was annoyed that he even made it but over the last few days clearly she's realized oh this is the kind of argument that Devin's thinks is effective so it might be effective on him especially if he doesn't realize that I won't be able to convince anybody so

[00:17:06] [SPEAKER_02] she turned it back around on him she said the argument you made to me applies to you here's why Drew essentially if he has Melody and Barrett and I go and I talk to Lala and make sure Lala is a vote for Drew and the jury that's four right there let alone where Yash might go that is the implication right and this this intuition

[00:17:35] [SPEAKER_02] of this might work on Devin's because he tried to make it work on me definitely has him thinking

[00:20:11] [SPEAKER_02] So, a little bit later, he comes up to her again and he says, you know what you told me about the jury? It's true. She says, yeah. I mean, I think you have four votes there against me. If you're not sitting next to Drew, you don't have to fight for Barrett anymore. Because I think I probably still have to fight for Barrett. But, yeah, I don't know. He walks away and he mutters to himself, gotta be careful, Devins.

[00:20:42] [SPEAKER_02] And the night progresses. And he goes up. I believe this is when he's up on the... Actually, no. This is... He's in... He's in the have-not room. Or no. Maybe he's up on the balcony, I think, for this one. Doesn't matter. He tells the cameras, this whole game has been about bringing home as much money as I can to improve my family's lives. I need to think about that goal. My number one alliance is my family.

[00:21:10] [SPEAKER_02] Everything else is secondary. Everything else is noise. And it's at this point that you realize, oh, he is definitely thinking about this. He is definitely right now talking himself into being willing to cut Drew. Because that's not the kind of thing you say to the cameras if you were lying to Taylor the whole time. They get some alcohol. They hang out a bit. Devins and Drew spend time together.

[00:21:39] [SPEAKER_02] They spend a lot of time together through the day, of course. And they're playing pool. And they're joking around about, like, some of the things they might have said about one another during the season that they might regret. How Devins has probably targeted Drew at points in the game. And Drew asks jokingly at one point, like, are you going to cut me tomorrow? And Devins jokes back saying, you know, it's complicated. I've got a family.

[00:22:10] [SPEAKER_02] And it's like, oh. The night progresses some more. And Devins talks to the cameras in more detail. He's thought about it a bit more. And he's clearly been thinking about exactly what he wants to say to the cameras. Because this is not, like, stream of consciousness. This is a prepared statement that he gives to the cameras at this point.

[00:22:41] [SPEAKER_02] He says, man, this game is as hard now as it ever was because I love Drew. That's my dude. But Tay wants to make a deal to take each other to final two. Which is an obvious deal to make. Like, she says she won't vote for me and will make sure Lala doesn't vote for me. Whereas I think I beat her. And I think I have Drew's vote regardless. That sucks, man. You know, I was thinking about a song today.

[00:23:11] [SPEAKER_02] Frank Sinatra's My Way. Because I feel like whenever I play these games, I play them my way. But there's a line in there that's like, I've had my share of losing. And man, I've had my share of losing these games. Losing late too when it really hurts. I don't want to lose late again. I've got people that are counting on me.

[00:23:44] [SPEAKER_02] To me, listening to this, it felt like he had made his decision. Again, this felt like a prepared statement to the cameras to explain the decision he is planning to make. More so than further stream of consciousness, thought, debate, whatever. Right? Like, he very clearly thought about exactly what he wanted to say. That does not mean he will hold to this. Like I said, they did get some alcohol.

[00:24:13] [SPEAKER_02] It's possible that that kind of like pushed him in a direction. He said he still wanted to sleep on it. He goes to Taylor in the bathroom. He says, hey, Tay, the deal is a no-brainer. I'm going to sleep on it. We should talk tomorrow. So, that was day 86.

[00:24:46] [SPEAKER_02] Today is day 87. And I can tell you, we did not get to see the Taylor-Devins conversation. They were sleeping until like 15 minutes before the feeds turned off. So, that is the latest that we have. The question here is, right? Number one, will Devins now cut Drew? If he wins part three.

[00:25:14] [SPEAKER_02] It seems like there's a good chance he might at this point. That Taylor's argument has definitely influenced him pretty heavily in that direction. The next question is, does this also change Taylor's plan? It seems unlikely. She's planned all week to cut Devins because she knows it's the only move she has.

[00:25:42] [SPEAKER_02] And I don't think that she would feel that bad about lying, right? That said, she plans to talk about being honest in her final two speech. And, you know, if she fully makes the deal, handshakes the deal, there's a world where she then takes Devins. There's a world where this is actually quite good for Devins. If it actually does mean that Taylor takes him to the final two.

[00:26:10] [SPEAKER_02] But that seems a lot less likely to me. And we did not get any good indication from Taylor that she would plan to do that. In fact, almost the opposite where Taylor kind of expressed to the cameras that like, I'm going to get this guy. Like, I'm going to convince this guy. So we will see. But the conclusion to this is going to not be on the feeds at this point.

[00:26:40] [SPEAKER_02] Which is kind of wild. If Devins does decide to cut true, they will have almost no footage for it. Except for just last night and whatever happens today. So they might be scrambling right now in the edit bay. Either way, though, could Devins lose to Taylor? The argument is, again, we've talked about this, right?

[00:27:08] [SPEAKER_02] Like, there is a world where Taylor does have a shot against Devins if there's enough anti-icon sentiment. If Yash is a vote for Taylor, who cares who played the best game? He just wants to give it to his friend. And Lala votes for Taylor. And Barrett is annoyed with Devins and wants to give it to Taylor. And Melody goes along with that. Like, the four of them could go in that direction. You never know. You really, really don't ever know.

[00:27:35] [SPEAKER_02] You cannot definitively say anything about how jurors might vote. They will surprise you. But, of course, it doesn't seem particularly likely. But either way, that is where we are for now. I'm sure there's a lot more to talk about and commentate on tonight. Whether it happens, whether it doesn't, when we talk through in our recap of the finale. So stay tuned for that.

[00:28:03] [SPEAKER_02] But here on day 87, we did get a couple goodbyes from Devins and Drew. Taylor was, I think, still sleeping or didn't quite get up for the goodbye. But we did get some goodbyes. Will Devins lose Drew's votes is a question being asked. Devins doesn't think so. And, I mean, this is the thing as well.

[00:28:30] [SPEAKER_02] Again, like, the way Drew has been talking, I hope you win. I hope I lose to you. Certainly implies that... Oh, Taylor did give a goodbye from her pod. I didn't notice it. Okay, give me one sec. And I might be able to grab a little bit of that.

[00:28:55] [SPEAKER_02] But Devins seems to think, because of everything that Drew has said to him, that he would have Drew's vote no matter what. And I think he probably does. So, I mean, and that's, I think, again, really kind of like a mistake on Drew's end to have given Devins so much. It's on Blue Sky. If someone wants to just, like, send me...

[00:29:25] [SPEAKER_02] This is what happens when things happen right before the update. I'm not able to grab everything. I didn't notice Taylor's goodbye. So I want to make sure I get that in. I do have Devins and Drew's. Because they were standing and talking the whole time. I think I was paying attention to the beds. But I figured if they were in bed, they were not speaking. Should have known better with Taylor.

[00:29:53] [SPEAKER_02] Either way, though, Drew's vote. I do think he would be... He would lean in the direction of voting for Devins. But he might be so kind of like immediately... He might be like caught by the decision and get really upset about the whole thing. Which, you know, you never know.

[00:30:22] [SPEAKER_02] It could cause him to, in the moment, vote in a different direction. It's possible. I wouldn't call it super likely. Okay, let me see if I can, just for a moment here... Can you guys hear this? This is on the fly. There's some noise from the bed.

My whole life, all I've wanted to do was play this game. And now I can say I can't. Now I, I can say I have.

[00:33:06] [SPEAKER_02] And I felt like I've had the full experience. I won an HOH. I won a couple of vetoes. I won a blockbuster. I was in a majority alliance. It blew up. I fought my way here. You guys voted for me to go into the BB time capsule. I felt the love. I felt the hate. But I've lived my dream. It's been so fun. I've said it so many times, but this has been my dream. And I'm still here. I've lived in this house for 87 days. And it kind of breaks my heart to say, I'm not going to be here tonight.

[00:33:35] [SPEAKER_02] But it's been just been so fun. You guys have seen me laugh. You've probably seen me cry. Probably way too much. But I don't think anyone knows how much this meant to me. How much this means to me, except you guys who watch the live feeds. Because you guys are just as big of fans as I am. And I don't know what's going to happen tonight. I don't know if I'm going to win. I don't know if I'm going to get third. I don't know if I'm going to be sitting in those chairs anyways. I'm just getting... And I don't know if just be sitting in those chairs anyways. I'm just getting second place. But at least I got to say...

In its history. Between returning players, blockbusters... The resurgence of reality TV in general. It's... The show I think is like... As strong as it's ever been. And I'm very happy to report... That the live feed updates... Have also been more successful than ever.
