BB28 Thursday Eviction Ep Recap, Week 9 Also available on YouTube. Big Brother 28 gets shaken up as the house sees another dramatic blindside and shifting allegiances. Rob Cesternino and Taran Armstrong are joined by Mary Kwiatkowski and Brandon Donlon for this fast-paced eviction night recap as Angela becomes the latest juror and the house [β¦][00:00:09] what's going on? Rob Sestrano back here for a big eviction night. Icon down, but a night where maybe the icons strike back. So much to talk about here as Angela Murray has left the Big Brother house for season 28. So much to talk about here with the panel tonight. First, back with us, of course,
[00:00:33] Taron Armstrong. Taron, how are you? I'm doing great, Rob. You know, I've been called many things, icon, visionary. Sure. But I am just like you. Just like you guys on this, not like everybody else, but just like you guys at the very least. Yes. Listen, everybody might get invited back for more
[00:00:56] podcasts every day. Don't treat me different. Yeah. Could be. Could be. All right. Here with us, very excited for Mary. Mary Grakowski. Mary, how are you? Yeah, I mean, like, I'm not an icon. I am the only woman on this panel and don't treat me any differently because otherwise I am just like
[00:01:19] you. No, that would be wrong. We won't treat you differently on the panel. Yeah. For the video viewers, rep my Virginia Tech because we had another Devins moment. So yes. Look, this is just like we drew it up in the preseason of now two weeks in a row. Rick Devins back against the wall,
[00:01:44] having to win a comp to survive. That's that's we've gone full Devins here at this hour and here with us to talk about a man who once got shouted out by a woman who's really heating up. It's Brandon Donlett. Brandon, how are you? You don't know how much I thought I needed the sunglasses and the blanket for this evening. I went to go pick it out of my room, but we don't need it.
[00:02:11] We did it. Yeah, we did it, Joe. Who are you going to be blanketing for Rick Devins? No, my dear friend. I was getting a little nervous during that commercial break for my dear friend. Really? I was. I think that and they strategically place the people in order. Yeah, you get nervous at home. And last I heard everybody was good with the plan, but it was her little thing before everybody voted that got me a little nervous. I was a little squirrely, but then we did it.
[00:02:38] Yeah. So we're crushing. Okay. All right. So yes, D is safe. Rick Devins is safe. We'll see where we go from here. A lot of intrigue as we are now three weeks away from the Big Brother finale. And Taron, a huge bomb drop by Julie Chen Moonvest at the end of the episode outlined the upcoming events for Big
[00:03:02] Brother. And what's the big brother over these next couple of weeks, including the return of the pressure cooker as this week's power of veto? Yeah, I was very confused by this. Obviously, I mean, it's a potentially exciting thing, but here's the problem. Number one, they showed footage of not the pressure cooker. Yes. Yes. It was like they were showing like the like a dirt competition,
[00:03:31] which is not the pressure cooker competition. Number two, even if it was the pressure cooker competition, the main ingredient, the thing that makes it a good competition is that it plays out live on the live feeds. They don't typically do that for vetoes. So it's kind of like if they run this and it's not the pressure cooker, but they call it the pressure cooker, that's super lame. If they run this and it is the pressure cooker and it's not on the live feeds, that's even worse.
[00:04:00] Yeah, here's the thing. This has been bothering me for a year now. And so now I feel like it's a great time to talk about it. This is not the first time that this competition has been referred to as the pressure cooker. And that has been grinding my gears for a year because in last season, they referred to it as the pressure cooker, at least behind the scenes, because all the cast came away calling that and referring to that as the pressure cooker competition. So it's just been sitting on my chest
[00:04:29] for a year now saying, hey, wait, why are we calling that the pressure cooker? That's just a random slight endurance comp that didn't even go that long. So I think it's possible that big brother, at least has started referring to various endurance comps as the pressure cooker, which is not a thing. We all know the only version of the pressure cooker that counts is the kind where you hold a tennis ball on your head for 14 hours. That's right. That's right. So could be
[00:04:55] interesting wording. I have to think that people are looking at the script beforehand. I can't imagine that they would call it the pressure cooker. They never tease what the veto is. Morgan has been calling that the pressure cooker for the last year. Sure. But they like, I, they tell you, Oh, Tev, um, they tell you when it's like, this is not an icon. Like what, like what that was is not an
[00:05:23] iconic challenge. The pressure cooker is, and I could see the vision, what we're down to what seven people now and somebody has to host the comp. The other six people are in it. It could work. And, and they haven't done the Yankee swap. I mean, essentially the pressure cooker, uh, like could be that. Yeah. I mean, the, they, they made a big point of it in big brother 25 to say, this is the
[00:05:52] return of the pressure cooker. They, they brought back case or for it. They knew that that was called the, like the return of the pressure or the revenge of the pressure cooker or something. Uh, last season's HOH, that was the sword. They called it the torturous trials. Like it was not titled a pressure cooker. Uh, so, and, and they had had the sword competition prior to the BB 25 pressure cooker. Uh, and they were like, this is, you know, this is the first,
[00:06:20] and the guy that does the comps, he knew that everyone always asked for the pressure cook. He's like, I don't know. I don't know if I'm going to be a pressure cooker. Uh, so like they have to know this is not the pressure. I think that it's just been a rebrand. Cause like I said, it's been multiple times mentioned that that sword competition last season, not like on the show, but like by players in the year since. But what I do like is they'll, they call things all if it was an actual pressure cooker. If for some reason we got a mistake in the video tonight,
[00:06:48] but they're actually doing the pressure cooker. I actually think doing it for the veto is great because the last time they did it for an HOH, uh, it didn't end up really mattering. Yeah. Now hold on, Brandon. It's not a reason. Did you tell Dee about the pressure cooker before she went to go play? I, it probably came up. I don't remember specifically. Um, but in a way, isn't every challenge a pressure cooker? Can we call every challenge a pressure cooker? Is every
[00:07:17] challenge a hot dog or a sandwich? Yeah. Is every challenge a pressure cooker? There's pressure in every challenge. Was BB comics a pressure cooker this week? I mean, for Barrett, who was getting a little flustered in the middle of it, I think there was some- It was for me having to watch it. Yeah. Did anybody drop off during the BB comics pressure cooker? Yeah. Um, I'm curious of a rebrand cause it feels like a weird thing to say. I agree with you. If you're not going to do the
[00:07:43] actual thing. So you would assume they're going to do the actual thing. I would think so. If people aren't peeing in an enclosed space, it's not a pressure cooker. Hmm. Yeah. I think I'm genuine. I think I'm genuinely going to be more mad if they do the pressure cooker, not on live feeds, like the actual one, then like, then the whole, like than anything else they've done this season. Yeah. Yeah. Um, so I don't know. I think it's happening.
[00:08:15] You think the real pressure cooker is happening? I think the real pressure cooker is happening. I mean, that'd be fun. Why'd they show footage of the sword then? I don't know. What are they going to show? Like Jared and, uh, like, uh, like Izzy and like, uh, Cam and Matt Klotz. Or even show the footage from the Big Brother Six pressure cooker. That's like the more recognizable one.
[00:08:38] And I mean, like, this is the, this is the comp that like Angela won, right? Like the whole, the thing against a thing. Uh, was it? Hmm. Or did she just do really well? This was the, was that in Janky World? I'm trying to remember when this happened. Yeah. Okay. I guess what I mean. Sorry, Leah won, but Angela did very well, right? Yeah. We will know, uh, soon enough. So interesting. We'll keep an eye out for potentially a pressure cooker coming up on Saturday.
[00:09:08] It will be also a tense HOH, a lot of intrigue, uh, coming off of this. And I'm sure we will get into all of that. But Taron, somehow, some way, Dee and Devin's have survived Barrett's HOH. Yeah. Yeah. And this, this is really like the headline of this episode because this should not have happened, uh, like in any world.
[00:09:37] Um, you literally, like, you look at them sitting on the, in, in the, in the nomination chair together. Yeah. And Angela is like, uh, like, Jack, I love you so much. Like, oh my God, it's been so fun to be here. And Dee is like, I'm going to murder the people that put me on the block. Uh, and you're like, you know what? I think I want to play against that one. What in the world? Uh, it's, this is one of those like big moments, right?
[00:10:06] Like, this is one of those saves. We're going to remember this one. Like we remember Vanessa. Like we remember Dane and BB Can. Uh, likely we remember Dan. Like this is, this should not have happened. It, it really, in my mind, does not make sense for anyone's game. And, uh, and Dee made it happen. And, uh, I'm really, it was very fun that we got to see it actually play out because of the blockbuster results.
[00:10:31] We actually saw the vote go through Barrett, Drew, Melody, all blindsided. Uh, this was great stuff. Yeah. And are the feeds back on at this point? Do we have a wellness check on Barrett? Uh, I'm sure he's not pleased. He was okay before this happened. They didn't really show him after like Angela leaving. There was never a camera on him that lingered enough to get a visual.
[00:11:00] Yeah. Okay. Brandon, let's get. Yeah, I was, I was very upset that the, we did not get a camera shot of the react. It lingered on like the, on Angela and Dee for so long. We never saw Barrett's reaction. I was, I was quite upset about that. Brandon, what have you made about this run that Dee is on where she really does seem to be activated? Yeah. I mean like the, the friend answer, which I'll do very quickly is like, I'm such a, I'm such a fan of her.
[00:11:30] I love watching her work the way if I never met her, I would love watching her work. And now she will never watch this podcast. No, no, she, Clinton will. Shout out to Clinton. Shout out to Clinton. Angela's friend Clinton. Yes. I, but really, I mean, there's nobody in the world better at like locking it. And she knew, she understood the votes that she needed. And even in the conversation with Yash, he's initially from my view, like hesitant and she worked and she worked and she knew who exactly to pin it on, on the other side.
[00:11:58] Like it felt too easy for her. And I really like, I was shocked that it worked when I saw the update. I was shocked that it worked. I went back and watched it. Um, she just really is like, there aren't a lot of people on these shows globally who are better at talking than she does than she is. Mm hmm. Yeah. And so she ends up being able to, uh, save herself, which ends up coming in very handy after Rick Devins wins the blockbuster.
[00:12:27] I think that there may be was so much talk during the week of it'll be the ropes. It'll be the ropes. D is going to win the blockbuster. Uh, it ends up with Rick Devins being the winner and then she ultimately needs it against Angela. Uh, this was a blind side for Angela too, Taron? Yeah. Um, yeah, it was a blind side for, uh, for pretty much everyone. Um, except for D and, and Taylor and Yash. Uh, and Devins knew this was going to work.
[00:12:56] He, he believed, so basically Taylor and Yash were telling both D and Devins that they were willing to keep, keep them. They were lying to Devins. They were telling the truth to D and so D and Devins were like, we hope they're telling the truth. And it landed on the one they were telling the truth on. So, uh, I'm sure Devins was hopeful, but couldn't have been sure. Mm hmm. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:13:19] And I mean, we like amazing by D that Taron, uh, count recounted in the, um, last two morning updates, but like the work that she put in over the last couple of days to get here should not have happened, should not have worked. And I think, uh, probably from Angela's perspective also thought this probably wasn't going to happen. I feel pretty safe. I'm sitting here next to the suit to survivors.
[00:13:45] Like for the first half of the week, it was basically just a given that whichever one of the survivors didn't win, uh, the blockbuster was probably going home. Yeah. So, and I don't know about y'all, but the second I saw the blockbuster, I was like, oh, so. It felt good for Rick Devins. Yes. It's a Ricky D special. Brandon, uh, they made her mad. I think at times during the season, I think the D got bored. She got messy, but Barrett made the mistake of pissing her off. Yeah.
[00:14:15] Is Barrett the first person to really get under her skin? I think yes. But I also think for Barrett, Barrett was in like an unwinnable situation winning that. If you throw the HOH, you're throwing it to the icons. That's bad. If you win the HOH and you nominate the icons, they're pissed off at you. If you nominate the other people, they're equally as angry. I think, I think if you go and Barrett went so long without being an active player in the
[00:14:43] game, like he was sleepy, but when you're sleepy, you're liked by everybody. He's the last person to make anybody mad. So it's like you, you are, you are 10 weeks mad versus everybody else who's been nominating each other and being a more active presence. He is, he hasn't had to do that. And I think that D was just on the receiving end of it. But if, if Barrett doesn't win and Drew does this, I don't think that she's this mad. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Certainly. Okay.
[00:15:12] So, uh, Angela is also a big headline tonight. We've lost Angela and it's the end of the road for Angela who comes back as the only returning BB player. Taryn, she did not go as deep as she did in Big Brother 26, but this ends up being a more polished game from Angela. Sure.
[00:15:40] Uh, it was sort of like, it's more polished for sure. Um, and, and like, I would say largely unlike BB 26, she definitely had a winning path, uh, for most of the game. Um, she really started in a very strong position. She had, she had a lot of good connections and people that like options for how to get to the end and potentially win. And then over the course of the game, like we've talked a lot about it.
[00:16:08] D and Devin's both have their own brand of messiness and Angela too, very messy, but D especially really led the charge with a certain style of gameplay that I don't think suited Angela very well. And D is very good as we've seen at cleaning up her mess. Uh, but Angela less so. And so as they sort of blazed through the game in a way that wasn't conducive to Angela's,
[00:16:35] uh, suited style, um, D is able to recover in remarkable ways where Angela ends up just taking hit after hit losing ally after ally until she got to this point where she was basically out of options. She had no goat to sit next to in the end anymore. She had nobody willing to take her that she could potentially be, uh, and ultimately gets taken out of the game in part because of that, uh, because everyone saw her as too easy to
[00:17:03] beat and therefore too dangerous to sit on the block next to, which is an argument I very much disagree with, but it was largely one of the ones that they were looking at. And so, you know, in many ways we can fault, uh, sort of like her connection to D here. Um, not because D didn't help her in the game, uh, but because D was just ultimately, uh, better at, at, at sort of figuring out how to maneuver through the mess that the two of them collectively
[00:17:30] occasionally made, uh, which is still like just very fun. It's very fun to see. I thought that Angela was a good option to bring back because this was exactly kind of what I expected from Angela. When you get a returning player playing against new players, they have knowledge experience and they can sometimes kind of run circles around those new players. Angela always played from the bottom. She was new to playing from the top.
[00:17:55] She had experience and that allowed her to play with the polish that you're talking about while also the Angela that we know. And so that combination I thought was, was quite good. And, um, and it was, it was, you know, uh, it's certainly sad to see her go, uh, tonight I would say. Yeah. But you know, I also felt like it felt like maybe the end of the story here for Angela in BB 28. And so it felt like an appropriate time for her to walk out of the house. She walks out in very high spirits.
[00:18:25] She says, this was a great move for all the people. What do you think, Mary? Was this the longest exit ever? Julie didn't have to say, Angela, we need you to come out of the house. Kylan's might have, this one felt longer than Kylan's. This is the same Kylan over and over again. There was a solid, at least, I don't know, 15 seconds where you couldn't even see Angela.
[00:18:51] She was out the door still talking to them, saying the same things over and over. Um, but not, not for anything though. It has to be a weird thing. Like if you want, if you love Survivor and you loved your time on Survivor, you can like fly to the island. Like the island's not like gated off. And if you do the amazing race, you can like go to Finland. But like, I'm sure there's a part of her that's like two years of memories, two years of such good times. Like she's never walking back in probably. And I'm sure that you need a minute to like reflect.
[00:19:18] She's going to hold up to another comp in a year. Yeah. I was going to say, I see her coming back. She'll be back. We don't know. But, but I feel like it was the, it was the, uh, we call this the Southern goodbye. It was just a lot of, it was the same conversation that just kept going. Everyone else, okay, bye, Angela. Bye. Bye. Also, can I just, something you breezed over, uh, the people who go back and visit the Survivor Island when they're not playing are also unwell.
[00:19:48] That's not a normal thing to do. That's not a normal thing to do. I can give you a little. Check on those people. But wellness check on the people who are flying to Fiji to go to the Survivor Island when they're not playing Survivor. Sure, sure. Sorry. I don't mean to interrupt. No, but they should do that for Big Brother. You get a couple alumni. All the warehouse people should get a tour around just one more time. One more time. Take them through. Saber it in. Take them through.
[00:20:11] Now, on Angela's, uh, final night here in BB28, she plays a big part in the storyline of being the person. Again, it's consistent with Angela through two seasons of Big Brother. She's always, she's spotted something. She's always got reads. She sees people together. She clocks things. And she is really, I got one. Melody and Drew are canoodling. Nailed it.
[00:20:41] Nailed it. Why are you so obsessed? Says Julie. Angela, why are you so obsessed with them? She just wants to watch. She just wants to watch them do it. And not for anything. Julie at the end saying, at the exit interview, saying, I can't confirm nor deny something's going on. Nobody ever says that unless it's confirmed. She confirmed it. No? That's a confirm. She also couldn't confirm her votes. She's just going to show the goodbye messages of her votes.
[00:21:09] Saying that they were her votes. Um, I, yeah. Do you think that Big Brother should confirm votes? I guess not. I guess we could lie. I mean, goodbye messages. If somebody wants to confirm that they voted away on their goodbye messages, it's just that, like, when you show those goodbye messages and not the other ones, it doesn't exactly give room for anybody else to lie about it. Mm-hmm. Yeah. But it was a funny moment where, uh, she was calling it out.
[00:21:39] And Melody was getting big mad. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, she was, it was, uh, I recounted this in the update. She's very, like, her face got red. She was like, what are you, we're just playing footsies. What are you, we're playing footsies. Taryn, it's too bad for the plot. These weren't the people who were trying to evict Angela. These were the people that voted for her to stay. There was a moment where I was like, is that, are they going to act like this is the reason?
[00:22:06] Now, there was actually, Melody did, uh, propose evicting Angela to Drew, uh, against D. She also came up with this idea in part because D campaigned to her. Uh, and I imagine in part because she was frustrated with Angela. Um, she also proposed it to Barrett who said no. Um, and then when Drew asked her today, she said, Barrett said no, so we're not doing it. You can do what you want. He said, I don't want to be the only vote to keep D. So, he wasn't.
[00:22:36] Yeah, far be it from, like, Melody and Drew to be upset that somebody's watching them when they're on the television show. That's, the, the ethos is just watching them. You know what I mean? Like, every, we're all watching you. Like, you got caught by one person. But, you know, that, that, that gif that you all know what I'm talking about has about 15,000 likes on Twitter in this moment. So, we're all seeing it, guys. You don't have to hide. Right? Mm-hmm.
[00:22:59] Yeah, it's a shame that it didn't make it into the episodes about, uh, the Barrett Melody Drew, uh, which precipitated the, uh, Drew and Melody, uh, closeness of this week. Which, uh, if only we had a fourth night of Big Brother, we could have probably gotten to that storyline. And I think that's, that's more interesting to me than the Angela spotting them. I guess you have to put that in because Angela's gonna give it up, but I would have rather seen that, I think. Mm-hmm. In the episode.
[00:23:29] Yeah. I think, ultimately, it did not lead to anything. I, I could not get over Angela's face watching them. She was so happy. When she was sitting in the lounge chair. She just wants to watch. Like, I couldn't get over. What face would you make, Mary? Probably the same thing. Yeah. Yeah. She was so excited. So, good for, good for Angela.
[00:23:59] Uh, she got such a happy last couple of days. Yeah, she's sitting in the outdoor Chuck chair. Mm-hmm. Then talking to Chuck. Okay. And you know what? I will, like, I, I gotta say, uh, every time they do the bit about Angela, like requesting things at home. It's fun. I, I, I don't find that to ever get old. I love that so much. I think it's, it's great. It's like Felicia with Mr. B asking for stuff. You know what? That's my favorite.
[00:24:29] The only thing is, I would fear that I would be talking to the camera and I would not be on the feeds and, and my, uh, significant other would not be watching. Mm-hmm. I'd just be screaming into the void. Which, you know what? They'd get the note. It's been a list of tasks. Mm-hmm. It's not too different from screaming into the void. Okay. [00:25:19] At the risk of being super results-oriented, Taryn, uh, that Barrett's decision, not so much to put up the icons, but the decision to pick Yash for the veto rather than the potentially, okay, should we take Angela off, uh, let Drew play in the veto, potentially take Angela off. Potentially put Yash on the block. Uh, that decision really comes back to really backfire for Barrett.
[00:25:49] Yeah, I completely agree. I think that is by far the worst, uh, thing he did was, was hyping Drew up, picking Yash anyway. Yash wins the veto. Now he is reliant on Yash and Taylor. Uh, and then, uh, also key to this, does not follow through, uh, socially with Yash and Taylor. Sits up in his HOH room for the next three days. Uh, and so, like, all of those things combined to one disastrous outcome.
[00:26:18] Um, and, you know, part of the reason why he did the three icons as the initial nominees was because sort of, I think there was this understanding that he didn't have the social capital to force the votes in the direction he wanted. He needed to strategically maneuver the, the nominations so that they were in that way.
[00:26:37] But I think that he neglected to realize that, like, it's, and, and I, I was talking about this, uh, earlier tonight, that, like, I feel like this season has been all about people having the right instincts and the right idea of what they should do at the start of a week. And then spending a week changing their minds and getting it wrong. And at the start of the week, Barrett said, any one of the four of them leaves, really the three of them leaves, D, Devin's, or Yash, Yash is great for me.
[00:27:07] Yeah. Which is why it should have been perfect for him to pick Drew for the, for BB comics. Drew wins, takes down Angela. Yash goes up and now one of them is guaranteed to leave. Uh, instead he lost track of that because he got so swept up in the icons being mad at him and, you know, all the Drew stuff that he chose Yash for the veto, allowing him to win. And then just completely dropped the ball the rest of the week. Didn't talk to Yash and Taylor as much as he should.
[00:27:36] Stayed up in his HOH room, allowed his distance from D to be used by D to convince Yash and Taylor to keep her around. And now he's on the wrong side of a vote flip. He used his HOH to take out Angela and it's a complete disaster. Yeah. I believe he even said, right, that, that Angela going home would be the worst case scenario. Yeah. Yeah. Of, of the four potential people he was targeting, Angela was by far the worst person to leave for him, which is why he should have wanted her off the block.
[00:28:04] He joked with that with Drew about it, but like, you know, and even if Drew had, had turned around and like pulled off Devin's instead, like, uh, it's, it still would have been a decent, um, a better position to not be relying on two specific votes, uh, there. So it's just like, at least you might've gotten Yash out. Not good. Not good. And now Barrett's in a position where now he cannot play in this next HOH.
[00:28:34] Uh, and I don't like his chances in the pressure cooker to win the veto. Doesn't strike me as the, uh, pressure cooker kind of guy. I don't think he's got that, that frail Mary dog in him. Um, well, yeah, uh, probably not considering the fact that he was talking about how, uh, he kind of lost a lot of his, um, energy after like one week in the game. Right.
[00:29:02] Um, yeah, I, I think the problem with Barrett here, because I think like a week ago, everyone was praising Barrett. Oh my gosh, look at him making moves, putting all the icons up is, and this happens a lot where at the beginning of the week you go in with this firm plan and you're like, it's great. I'm going to put up all three of the icons. I'm going to shake everything up. And any one of the three that go is great because I will have then accomplished my goal of taking out an icon.
[00:29:26] And then like, by the end of the week, if you're looking at Angela leaving and you're upset, you're like, hmm, it's almost like that actually wasn't the goal. And we were just so sure that that rally wasn't going to happen. So yeah, it's exactly like Taryn was saying, like he missed his opportunity there, but I don't think that we should all be so turning on Barrett when we were praising him like a week ago for this exact same move. If we liked it then, then we can't be mad now.
[00:29:54] I mean, I guess we're not mad at the move. We're mad at the follow through. Like the move itself was forced. And this is what I talked about at the start of the week. Like it was the correct, I think, the correct decision because it allowed him to force certain scenarios. And then he slowly over time unraveled it in the same way that Yash was correct when he said this. No matter what, one of the two survivors has to unsurvive. No matter what, they have to unsurvive. They have to.
[00:30:24] Yes. And that was also something I would praise at the time he made that statement. And then over the course of the week, he slowly unraveled it to the point where, guess what? Both survivors survived. So can I ask a question, a feeds question? Was there never a check in with Barrett and Taylor and Yash in the couple, the 24 hours since D had flipped them? Did Barrett never try to check in with what was happening?
[00:30:48] No significant check in or really, I can't think of any like check in at all about votes. The last time Barrett had an actual strategic conversation with Yash or Taylor was at least two nights ago. The other thing that, Taryn, let me know on this one.
[00:31:10] Did Barrett ever say, especially to D, but honestly to any of the icons, like, hey, the reason I did this was because you took out Mallory and you broke up our alliance? Like, I feel like he gave a lot of different reasons, but I feel like that one to me is the easiest one, especially for D to be like, yeah, I can't really exactly fight against that one. Can I? I did do that. I did break up our alliance. He told her that today. Yeah, they finally had a conversation.
[00:31:37] Why would you have gone a whole week without having used that as your primary reason? It seemed like the most obvious thing. They haven't had a conversation since before the nomination ceremony. That was part of her conversation today. It was like, you didn't even tell me I was going up and then they haven't talked since. Mm-hmm. And so, which has been somewhat intentional on her part, which helped her strategically, and more so on his end, like, just, you know, he felt uncomfortable.
[00:32:03] Brandon, D said that I am, Barrett, he's 6'5", that have you ever put, like, salt on a slug and they shrink into nothing? That's what I'm going to do to him. I'm going to turn him into nothing. And I think that's what happened. Yeah, I think she did it. When she got in his face at the veto meeting, I don't know if he's been the same since.
[00:32:29] Yeah, that moment really reminded me of Boston Rob on The Traitors calling out Bob the Drag Queen in a way that it just felt so, like, let's just try something for a TV moment. And Bob obviously goes home that night, spoilers. But it really did. I mean, he's in his room for three days. He gave her the playing field to go make a move happen.
[00:32:55] And I think, again, people on Twitter and on TikTok are, like, roasting the move or whatever. But, like, roasting the ceremoniousness of it all. But it did work. What are they roasting? They are, they think it's, and they think it's too cringe. And all the kids, they say cringe or whatever. What did they think was cringe? What D did? What D did. Or when Barry was, like, eating an Oreo with sunglasses on and miming with the oven mitt.
[00:33:26] Can I just say, I think it was all pretty cringe. The whole thing felt cringe. That's exactly it, right? Because we've gone so far from, like, you know, what is it? 19, 18 years ago, we're seeing a 75-year-old guy say, you know, you're always Judas in my house. To, like, a Catholic school teacher. Like, Bo and Janelle are fighting. And Reagan and Rachel are fighting. Like, that's when it was good. You mean Judas? This is all, this is, this is all, like, Winnie Hut Jr. version of that.
[00:33:53] Like, of course it's camp because the whole show is camp now. But it's a moment that worked. So we'll take it. I liked it. I liked the whole thing. I liked that we got to fight. I liked that we got to call out. I liked that one side was going, like, leg up. And the other side was trying to be like, oh, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Like, what do we want instead? You know what? You know what usually happens during a veto meeting? Nothing. They cut it out of the episode. Yeah. Did they hug after this one, Taryn?
[00:34:22] I hope not. Yeah. No, this was great. This was great. And I loved what Dee said. She said, Barrett, I'm foaming at the mouth to take you out of the game. You're going to regret this decision for the rest of his life. Where's the lie? So far, check, check, check, check. Any chance that they get back together?
[00:34:48] I mean, now that I'm finding out that they didn't talk for, like, a whole week, though, I'm pretty, like, that's a pressure cooker of its own. It was an emotional conversation today. The second he said, can we talk, she started crying. Like, I genuinely believe, like, a large part of the reason why she's had such a strong reaction, and I think that she's been saying it from the start, is because she really does like and did like Barrett.
[00:35:14] And she feels especially hurt that he turned on her in this way. And so, like, you know, it has fueled her fire in the game to be like, ah, I'm going, I'm going after him. But I think the more sort of vulnerable side of her actually was a little bit like, damn. And she said she's missed him. And I think she meant it. Now, obviously, she's still Dee. She's still playing. I'm not going to be like, oh, Dee just loves him. And now she's going to go back.
[00:35:42] No, she's still using these emotions to play him. It's not like he should trust her or anything. But I do think that, like, there's certainly a connection that still exists. That if circumstances change, and they often do on Big Brother, I'm sure that that door is still open. Yeah, it is going to be wild because Dee has spent so much time with Angela over the course of Big Brother 28.
[00:36:09] Now what happens when Dee is freed up now and is not spending all that time with Angela? Who is she now talking to the most? Is it Devin's? Yeah, I'm forgetting who the conversation was. But I saw the tweet where it's a bunch of people talking around and laughing. And Dee is just, like, white-faced. And this is post-Barrett this week. And the quote tweet was, like, you can tell these aren't her people, right? And I forget who exactly that was. But, like, Barrett does give her people.
[00:36:37] And Angela, of course, was her people. So I guess it's Devin's? I don't know how much of, like, a genuine... I think she likes Yash a lot. I can see her really, like, getting down with Yash. But I don't know who else she, like, can, like, you know, take the mask off with. Well, she talked about this on the feeds this week. That she's like, I'm solo now. And it's so freeing. Like, I don't have to check in with allies about what I'm going to do. Like, I can just move the way I want to move right now.
[00:37:08] And it's freed me up to kind of, like, play the way I want. And so I think she's going to keep kind of moving solo here. Really interesting. Because I feel like I'm like, that's how I would feel if I was on the block with no way off the block. And I need to play that way for the one week. And now the week has reset. I mean, depending on who gets HOH and who makes the noms. But at this point, it's like, we've got a whole HOH veto, a whole other thing happening here.
[00:37:32] So I think it's probably most likely that she does try to either work with, I mean, Yash at this point. And Taylor voted for her to stay. Or to see if she can reconnect something with Barrett. But, like, I think Dee is a very entertaining player. And I think that she's shown a lot of great things here. I'm not personal close friends with Dee. So I'm going to, this is just my opinion.
[00:37:56] But I do find that Dee has been difficult at times for me to get on board with the, like, hypocrisy of, I'm so mad at these people for betraying me after having just betrayed them and done the exact same thing. Like, I think she's fine when she does it. She's like, she can dish it out, but she can't take it. Hey, Mary, icons, they're like us. They're just people. They're flawed. But they're people. Don't forget. Devin's and Angela haven't also done that.
[00:38:24] But I think for me, Dee did that to an extent where I was just like, this is very entertaining. But come on now. Isn't that what you want from a player, though? Like, in a game like this? You want them to be super self-interested. You want them to be, like, super mad when they get betrayed, even though they, you know. But I want them to then turn to the camera and go, oh, I'm such a hypocrite. Like, oh, look at me. I did the same thing. I want them to be honest with it for me personally in order for me.
[00:38:52] Because, like, I'm do whatever you need to do game-wise. Yeah. I just don't want to. Mary, who's the reality star that does that? I feel like Boston Rob. Am I wrong? He's not my hypocrite. No. He turns to the camera and he'll go, I didn't really mean that. That's not really me. Like, I think Boston Rob, when he's making a buddy system, he knows that was ridiculous. And that that's not, like.
[00:39:21] Those are the rules for you, but not for me. I don't know. Look. Look, I'm going to fangirl where appropriate. I do think they all carry that same air, though. And I don't know where they're, like, why they're all vocalizing it so much. But I guess they do feel it to a degree. But it does seem weird that they all, all three icons, have voiced that, like, how dare you situation. When that's, like, the thing they're all signing up to do. I do agree that's weird. But it seems weird that all three of them are doing it.
[00:39:50] I think it comes from the perspective of, you know, especially that it's been propped up this season. That they are the icons. It's like, hey, we're the stars of this show. Like, what are you doing? Like, we're running this thing. We're the people are tuning in for. What are you doing? But why do we like that better as fans? I'm truly asking this, like, from a fan perspective. Because we're fickle. It's fine.
[00:40:18] But, like, why are we cool with that when it's just people who've been on reality TV before? These people haven't even played Big Brother before. Why are we cool with that? But if then another group is in the house and is like, but we're the good people. We're the ones who should be voted for. We hate that. It's the same. I think it's basically the same thing. Just the only difference is that they've played a reality show before. I can only speak for myself here. But, like, for me, the way that D has been mad is so game focused.
[00:40:47] It's so, it's not like Barrett doesn't deserve to be here. It's not, it's not like mean-spirited in a way that, like, dehumanizes Barrett or presumes that she's better than him in any significant way. It's just like, I want revenge. It's like, my name is D and you killed my game in this game and I'm going to, I don't remember the whole thing. But it's like, you know, she's on a mission to destroy somebody.
[00:41:17] It's like, she's the Baba Yaga, you know what I mean? Like, you just killed her dog and she's now going to come and hunt you down. Like, it's less so like, how dare this little ant? And more so just like, I want to, I want to come at this person. That's the vibe I get from it. And because I, because listen, I've watched many, many very icky things in the game.
[00:41:47] And, and D is always like clear, like, I'm still going to be friends with him after this. She also is the person who is constantly saying, I'm still going to vote for him in the end if he makes it. Like, Hey, don't be bitter. We should still vote for him if he makes it to the end. She's still saying like, uh, to him and to the cameras, like I still will be friends with this guy outside.
[00:42:07] Uh, you know, I just feel like lumping her in with like, uh, the worst of the worst of like the bitter people who, who have responded in ways that are, are, are wild. I think is, is not, not correct from my point of view. And I, and I want to be clear. I was not saying that she is like, I disagree personally with the, like, they've been bullying. People or whatever. Like, I, I think that there's been a lot of bad behavior on big brother that I is not the same thing as what I've seen from the icons.
[00:42:35] I, and I'm, I'm probably unique in liking when reality TV people are big characters, but then also can drop the act. I like both. I like, I want you to drop the act in the diary room or in the exit interview or whatever. And I want you to be a big character and, and make selfish moves for your game. I want both of those things. Uh, which I think some people, some people do really well.
[00:42:58] I feel like Sandra does that. Like, I like that kind of thing. Um, so I don't, I don't think that these, these people are being terrible, but I do think it's like really rich when you have someone being like, I would have never put them up. It's like, come on. From Angela, I did find the, like, and I think she says it to Barrett of like, we could have had a couple more weeks. Like there's like three weeks left. Like there, there aren't really a couple more weeks to do anything.
[00:43:25] I thought that was, it's a couple, but it's, it's, you know, the, the way the cycles go is like, then Barrett is out, you know, fifth or sixth. So I do, I do hear that feedback for some of the rhetoric, but I do not think it is at all mean spirit. Yeah. Brandon, I'd love to know from your perspective that, do you think that any part of Dee was looking forward to a post Devin's world in the house?
[00:43:53] No, I mean, and we'll talk about the actual challenge, but I have a hunch that she may be through that. What are you seeing? Um, I mean, she, again, I'd have to watch it. I watched at the same time that everybody did here and everybody watching, but it looked to me like she had it on the ground. Like she had the whole puzzle already done. And then I think that she may be, and again, I'm tinfoil haddock. She maybe thought that Devin's was going to go faster than he was.
[00:44:21] And once he wasn't making any progress, she started to slow down. Um, I, I think I see a world where she would rather have her like, and I believe Devin's is like her best, most, you know, in sync strategic partner there for another week or two, um, rather than Angela. I think Angela is also more susceptible to be swooped by a different group. You know, I can see a Yash and Taylor pulling in Angela. You can see, you can make that case.
[00:44:46] Um, so I do not think there was any part of her that was waiting for, um, Devin's to lose tonight. I, I, uh, my instinct was she was not throwing, uh, and, um, largely because she didn't know that they were only saving her and not Devin's. Um, they were telling both her and Devin's Taylor and Yash that they were going to keep both of them.
[00:45:10] So like our knowledge knew that if Devin's wins, they both stay, but if D wins, Devin's goes, but, but, uh, as far as she knew, they were both staying. Um, and so they were either lying to one of them or sorry, they're either not lying to them or lying to both of them, which is what you would assume. And so there's not really any incentive to actually throw the competition to Devin's there in, in D's mind.
[00:45:35] Yeah. Um, and I'm seeing the chat. I guess that's a, that's an, not a good take. I am so curious as to, it looks like she had the whole thing. Stand by, stand 10 toes down. No, no, I'm, I'm 10 toes down. It's, it is crazy that she had the whole thing figured out on the ground. I don't think she finished it. It looked like she finished it, but I didn't have to look. She was still struggling with, uh, the, the thing. On Survivor, I think that, that, that is the move when you can put it together on the ground and actually frown upon that.
[00:46:02] But I feel like that this was a puzzle because of the way that there were the two spires that went up that lined things up. I think it might've been easier to put it together on the thing as opposed to putting it together on the ground. It definitely seemed like also just one of those ones where once you, once you get it going on the, on the posts, it's going to be hard for someone else to catch up if they haven't at least started getting a few in there.
[00:46:29] Um, but I don't know. I, I guess I find it hard to believe just from like a game psychology perspective that it would be, it would be pretty hard. I feel like in a blockbuster where you have at least a decent shot at going home. This was not a situation where like everyone in the house has guaranteed you've been safe all week. You're not going home. No, no, no.
[00:46:52] Like at the most in the last couple of days, D got a couple of people to agree to keep her that she's just hoping are telling the truth. I think it'd be hard for someone to outright throw it. Um, the only reason I could think that she would have completely thrown it is if she had basically said, actually, I want Devin to win and I want to be in the jury for him. But like, I just don't see D doing that.
[00:47:15] And going back to the very first HOH competition that D won, it was, there was a puzzle that had to be done, but famously it was Yash that had to help her win the puzzle. And it is fun to see that those two were connected, uh, going back to night one in the house that, that, that is a fun, like big brother poetry. Uh, but yeah, is that not a puzzle, uh, person that, uh, to, unless I'm missing something, Brandon.
[00:47:43] Where, uh, I'm trying to remember, uh, if that's where, uh, a time that D was a big, uh, solved a puzzle. No, I, I do not think so either. It just, it looked like it looked like a pretty easy puzzle. I was shocked that everybody went so far without getting a piece. It felt like a while that nobody had anything. It was, yeah, it's, I think the major issue is that it's double-sided. Um, and, uh, and they couldn't find like the starting pieces.
[00:48:10] Um, when they did the, uh, the test run on, uh, they post, uh, with Julie playing, uh, on Instagram, Julie had seen it done before. And so she was able to immediately start doing it. And then I think the other people playing were able to also then quickly, uh, start it. But because none of them were able to find the starting piece, I think they were all struggling. I really liked this. Um, you know, I did not love, of course, the unnecessary run back and forth to start it portion.
[00:48:36] But I did like that they allowed Angela to just slide the pieces back, which I thought was such a clever hack of getting around the disadvantage that she would have had running back and forth to the point where I believe she was able to start the puzzle first, which I loved. And it really just came down to the actual solving of the puzzle, which was very tense because you couldn't tell who was going to be in the lead for a long time. Unlike a physical competition where you tend to just be like, oh, okay. I was confused on that, Taryn.
[00:49:06] I've, I've always assumed that the rule must be that they can carry one to two pieces at a time and they have to run back and forth because I've never understood why everyone doesn't just either throw, push or grab all of the pieces in one of these things. Because the pieces appear to be like, I don't know, almost styrofoam. They seem very light, at least in this one, with the, with the ease at which they were just pushing them. Yeah. Normally there is a rule that you can only bring one piece back at a time. That was the case in the blockbuster that drew one.
[00:49:35] Uh, you had to bring one piece at a time. Uh, and those were heavy as well. Uh, so that was like, especially physical forcing you to go one at a time. This one did not have any rules about, uh, how many pieces you could bring back at a time. And clearly how many rules about what, anything you do with the puzzle pieces. So they, you just bring them all back. Cause the other one too, like you usually have to like run back and forth and sometimes you have to place it and then go get the next one.
[00:49:59] Um, but, uh, they just kind of left this one open to interpretation, which I thought again, lighter pieces, looser rules about the running, um, and harder puzzle. Those are all things I've wanted for a long time. So I like this a lot. The other thing is, I don't know if I've seen it yet, but I'm sure it'll be out there. Um, that, that people feel like there may or may not have been a false start situation. My gut instinct is always just, there might be a delay with what we're seeing and hearing might not always be. Who started early?
[00:50:28] It looked like Devin's had like a foot, a foot headstart. I don't think it mattered. No, it wasn't a photo finish. But my guess is track and field. It seems like with a lot of the live competition. It wasn't like that Jason Mallory blockbuster. Yeah. What we're hearing versus seeing might not be synced up a hundred percent. All right. Speaking of Devin's that a lot of the talk this week was that Devin's could probably go home. Uh, especially if the blockbuster didn't favor him, the votes were against.
[00:50:58] But here he is. He's staying. Taron, is there any daylight between what Devin's wants to accomplish and what D wants to accomplish now moving forward? Not particularly. I would say the, the biggest difference is that I think Devin's is a little more open to trusting Drew than D is. Uh, how much that matters is maybe another question.
[00:51:22] Um, I think if D were to win HOH, she would very clearly just do Drew, Barrett, Melody on the block. Um, and, uh, and still want Barrett out, but obviously Taylor and Yash would want Drew out. So that could be a little bit of a thing. If Devin's were HOH, he'd probably do the same thing, but he might have more of a plan to save Drew and make sure it's Barrett if he can help it.
[00:51:46] Uh, he may even push D to try to make sure that Drew is safe to make sure that it's Barrett if possible. Uh, because obviously it's way better for them to, and they've talked about this as well. It's better for them for Drew to stay because Drew and Yash are the two that are really after each other. Now, granted, Yash just blindsided Barrett, so maybe that's not as much of a problem anymore. But I would say that's the biggest difference. Otherwise, they are very in sync. So, like, not much.
[00:52:15] I think something, I don't know if it could happen. I don't know if it's possible. Could this turn into D versus Devin's? Is there a world where that D has Yash and Taylor and Devin's has Barrett and Drew? Maybe, is it, Melody doesn't, Melody and Rick, it doesn't seem like that could happen. But, like, could they necessarily, if it's, like, a Cold War, could they both be picking up their pieces?
[00:52:43] I think it's, like, I mean, maybe eventually. And I guess eventually could be soon, given that we're going from 7 to 5 in the week. And setting up officially double eviction one week from tonight. Did they announce that officially double eviction? Yes. Sounds like yes. So, but, I mean, right now, they're still mostly just kind of fighting for their lives. Like, there's not, like, a lot of room to maneuver quite yet.
[00:53:13] And it's not like, like, Yasha's bribe counts for both of them, too. Yeah, would be so interesting, though. I think if they both survive through the double eviction, I think we will start to see, at the very least, D will be eyeing Devin's. Assuming she still has pieces in the game. Or feels like she does. Devin's might wait until a little later. And that's the battle we've all kind of, we all kind of anticipated when they were both running the game.
[00:53:41] But, yeah, right now I think it's still kind of like, let's just get there. Mm-hmm. Okay. We haven't talked about Angela in her conversation with Julie. And she came out, shot out of the cannon. She was a live wire with Julie. Brandon, did you have any moments that you really enjoyed from Angela's time with Julie Chen Moonves?
[00:54:08] Yeah, I mean, she was just, she was, you know what, I love, I love a bitter exit from any of these shows. But I do also love an OTT happy exit. And she was just, she was having so much fun. It's just, I was, I was so appreciative how appreciative she was of the experience. And she felt very grateful. And I very much enjoyed that. And I think Julie did, too. Julie and Julie made a point. I forget who said it, that her and Lala are going to have a great time in the jury house. What a dream that must be for the next week for the two of them.
[00:54:37] Yeah, better hang for Lala than Rick Devins was going to be hanging out with Lala in the jury house. Like, they're going to, like, it's going to be a fun week for Angela and Lala. I think she said that. I literally have had so much fun. So much fun. So much fun. Yeah. So. She's going to go right up to Lala and be like, you'll never believe what Drew and Melody were doing in the hot tub. Yeah, could you believe it? Go on retelling.
[00:55:07] Mm-hmm. Yeah. And gestures and everything. Yep. Then. Sorry, for gestures and everything. Yeah. Also, yes, she said that she spotted the showmance. That was one of the questions that Julie was asking her. And she told Julie, Taryn, she out-julied Julie. She said, I love love. Well, I believe Julie said, you love love? Yes. Yes. Yes. Because Julie, I mean, Julie's being weird about it.
[00:55:37] Julie's like, so you were obsessed. Why were you so obsessed with Drew and Melody? And she's like, I don't know. I'm obsessed. You know, just like, I saw what they were doing. And I was like, well, why? Why? Why were you so obsessed with that? It was also, I mean, this whole interview was quite funny to me, especially at the beginning when Julie was like, you said that this was a smart move. Smart for who? Mm-hmm. And she's like, I told it to them.
[00:56:07] I told it to their faces. You just saw me. Mm-hmm. Yash and Taylor. She's like, oh, well, I couldn't tell you who the votes were. Yeah, it was a strange one. Yeah. I mean, I think it is. I got what Julie was trying to get at, which is like, why was it smart to take you out instead of taking out presumable? I think Julie was trying to say, like, isn't D the bigger threat? Why'd they take you out? Angela says she could beat D in the final two, Mary. Mary. I'm just saying what I think Julie was thinking.
[00:56:38] Yeah. Angela was like, I think I could have beat her because I think I was bound to win a couple more HOHs. And Julie's like, no, no, no. I meant in the final two with the jury votes. And I was like, yeah. I guess I'm saying we can't have it both ways. We can't both be like, wow, look at this amazing thing that Dean did. She wasn't supposed to have stayed. And also, no, of course it was a smart move to get Angela out. Mm-hmm. I don't know. I just, I don't get why Angela thought it was smart. Well, of course.
[00:57:07] Didn't Angela think it was smart to take her out in BB26 too? Yeah. She was like, that was the whole thing. She was like, I was a threat. I was a threat. Yeah. That's why they have to take her out. Yeah. It was shades of Liz Wilcox when she gets voted out of Survivor 46. It's like, I could have won the game. Mm-hmm. Yeah. The 11th hour. Yeah. Okay. Um, we had goodbye messages for Angela.
[00:57:32] Uh, Rick says, thank you, Angela, for your service. Thanks for being part of the team. Uh, Taylor says, uh, that she refers to Angela as her good smelling self. Yeah. Yeah. Pretty good. I feel like Angela's face like dropped in the middle of that, uh, exit. She was like, you're good smelling self. She's like, oh, isn't gonna stay. Isn't gonna be enough to keep you. Mm-hmm. Yeah.
[00:58:02] But if, if, if you're gonna pick whether Taylor thinks you smell good or bad, I think you should always pick good. I'm glad that she's doing it. I mean, sure. It's very true. Sure. It's not Chuck time for Angela. I mean, Angela's like a realtor, right? Like, you gotta, they know about smells. You gotta make sure the place smells good. You should smell good. Yeah. Uh, Yash, uh, meant everything he said to Angela. Okay. What do you think he said?
[00:58:28] I thought it was interesting that Yash in this goodbye message said, uh, why I'm keeping D or Devins over you. There was a brief period of time when Yash pitched to Taylor that they should keep Devins, but it was shot down. And, and even the, you know, even just a couple hours before the eviction, he agreed with Taylor, they were not keeping Devins. So it's possible that this was recorded in that small window when he thought he might keep Devins or it might just have been what he was saying.
[00:58:55] But, um, but it could theoretically have like an impact on jury votes because this is a D move. She was safe. Devins wasn't, but Angela might be going to the jury thinking, oh, D and Devins were both going to be safe by Taylor and Yash. They both survived. They both did this. Um, and so that is worth, worth noting. Yeah. Finally, uh, D says goodbye to Angela and they really were such great friends through
[00:59:25] 65 some odd days. Taryn, the theory of that Angela, you know, you don't want to get too close to her. D was able to avoid this the whole season. I don't think that Angela said a cross word against D the whole season. We thought that maybe she sold her out to Haley and turned out that that was a lie that Angela loved D. Truly, uh, D broke the curse. And this is the thing. D is a curse breaker. She's a curse maker and breaker.
[00:59:53] She cursed Yash with her bribe. Uh, Angela was also telling her like, Hey, your bag is the closest to the door right now. You got to make it the furthest from the door is every single eviction I've been on this show. The bag closest to the door, bag furthest from the door is one that's safe. Bag closest to the door goes home. Uh, and D was like, I don't care. I'll break the curse. Wow. Uh, and then look what happened. Yeah. So she broke the Angela curse. Yeah. Literally every, every ally Angela has ever had.
[01:00:21] She's turned on him, uh, in some way or another caused their eviction. Uh, but, uh, D managed to escape it. I think it is interesting too, that on, you know, D's season of survivor, you have like D and Julie, who's not a similar archetype to Angela, but close. And then Angela has Leah and they become obviously very close afterward. Who's again, not the same thing, but close. I think it was like match made in heaven for both of them. Like they, they found a person kind of like the person that they had the best time with the first time.
[01:00:51] Um, and it was very nice to watch them the whole time. Mary, I know Brandon thinks Angela will never set foot in the big brother house ever again, but do you think is, do you think that a third time of playing big brother is a possibility for Angela Murray? I think, I think the show loves Angela. Like, I think, I, I, I think we're gunned. I think at the very least we're seeing Angela for the next three seasons on, in a competition,
[01:01:19] like kind of in the same way we had Felicia. Like, I think we're getting that. She did one last season. Remember when they had like her charcuterie board. Yeah. Like, I think we're just going to keep getting that was it like they had to match her charcuterie board or there was like some, something, something. And I want to say it was like the same thing. It's like that Felicia competition. Here's a question. Do we need, do we need big brother unlocked to have an Angela type? Like I know big brother unlocked.
[01:01:48] So what's interesting is it's such a goofy show, but with such serious hosts, like game, gamer winner hosts, we don't have the like pow part. I think we're, I think we're missing the obvious here. I think Angela needs to be a faithful on the traitors. Yeah. No, she'd be so good. She really brought that to so many of the nomination ceremonies this season where she's just like arguing and screaming.
[01:02:16] And also Taryn, the fact that like, she's always thinking she saw something. She's always like, I saw them. They went into the room together. Those are the people. He gave her a look. They're playing footsie. Yeah. She would be great. She'd be arguing at every round table. She would, she would monopolize every round table. Yeah. Well, not for anything too, is like the, the next celebrity traitors I assume is filming imminently.
[01:02:41] Like the one that D, Devin's and Angela are all going to be eligible for is the same one. So I do wonder if there's a world where the three of them are there also, which I think, well, why not? That'd be fun. Right? Mm-hmm. Sure. Sure. All right. Anything else from tonight's episode of Big Brother? I think that Yasha's hair has, the skullet has morphed into a Doc Brown situation.
[01:03:09] It's giving Doc Brown in a, in, it's really out of the sight. It's a time travel season. He would love it. Doc Brown would love the time capsule. Um, but it does look like it's growing out and across in a way that it wasn't just a few weeks ago. Yeah. Yeah. I was watching a Clue for the first time the other day. It's a, it's got some Doc Brown. Tim Curry classic. Yeah. Christopher Lloyd's there too. Yeah.
[01:03:37] I, I, I love this, this concept of, uh, Yasha's hair. I think Yash has been, I'm surprised that we didn't have faith from the start of, you know, you've got unique hair, unique name. Uh, and then, and then there's just like, how do we not see this coming of this type of character that he's become? Wait, is that an archetype? Unique hair and unique name? Or is one or the other? I think so.
[01:04:04] I guess I just saying like, like, you know, if his name was James, like four seasons from now, I'm not going to remember who he was, but like, I'll remember Yash. How dare you? Crazy James. James. Literally had crazy hair. There's been a lot of, there's been a lot of Jameses. And he was a wild character. I don't know. I, I feel like, uh, I feel like Yash has been the biggest surprise to me on the season. Yeah.
[01:04:32] Like I think, I think a lot of people saw it. He's the audience's choice. The people's choice. Yeah. Also, if his name wasn't Crazy James, would we remember him? That is true. It's true. That's what I was, if, if your name is James, you just add something to it. You know? Yeah. James Hewling didn't get that. Yeah. And that's, and that's okay, right? Yeah. He didn't need it. Okay. Brandon, anything else? Yeah. Anything else that you saw?
[01:05:02] I think no. I think I'm just, uh, I think this is the most I've been excited to see who wins HOH all season. And the season's great. Eric Stein said it today on Summer of Stein. This is like, I was out on Big Brother for just a couple years. There's, um, I'm so, like, I'm, I'm in love with the game again. And it's not because I know people there. It's just because the game is great. And I, I'm so excited to be back. And I'm so excited to be locked in for, uh, the ending of, of whatever this is. Right.
[01:05:29] And just to think that we, there was a point where the red corner just had this whole thing on lock. And they just decided, uh, D woke up one day and said, you know what? We got to get Lyric out. No matter what. And, uh, really changed Big Brother history that day. Yeah. I, I think this is great. I mean, I think that, uh, I think that, yeah, through, I mean, there were fears of the steamroll throughout.
[01:05:57] And it probably should have been with how many advantages the vets had. Uh, but they, but they played so messy that they ended up having to burn their advantages or at least in part burn their advantages. There's one still around, of course, but they had to burn the diamond power of veto. Uh, and, and then we got really lucky. I think, um, you know, with, with the, how the twist ended up playing out, uh, totally opened up the game.
[01:06:24] And now, you know, a shot was finally taken at the icons. Angela is the one that takes it. And we now have like a split house at the final seven, kind of like four to three, but Yash isn't really trying to win. Um, and there are still too many nomination chairs for the amount of nominations you're likely going to have to make. Uh, and so there's just like, uh, I don't know. It's, it's, it's a, it's a fun shaped end game right now.
[01:06:54] And I think we will hopefully have at least one more week this week, uh, of like anything can happen. This double eviction is really going to be like the big thing that, that solves like what is going to happen for the end game here. Taryn, who's your most fun HOH, uh, by the end of the night? I thought about this because originally I was like the game's so wide open. It doesn't really matter. But then I thought harder and I realized it's probably drew because drew has to nominate three people.
[01:07:22] Obviously Taylor and Yash are two of them. And then, uh, oh, he already has to now nominate either melody or Barrett or one of the two icons that he still wants to work with. It's probably at this point after the blind side, especially going to be one of the icons probably. Um, but then let's say Yash or D very likely to win the veto.
[01:07:43] Now he has to choose between daddy Devin's friend that has backstabbed and lied to me Barrett or footsie's showman's melody. Uh, and it's gets, it just gets very messy. And I think that it's one of the few HOHs that gets that messy. So that's probably where I'm, where I'm aiming. Pretty fun. Mary. Um, yeah, I think, unfortunately what I really wanted was for Yash to win just to get the reveal on the,
[01:08:12] but I guess that still could happen at any time. Um, uh, who was the, I had a question. I'm like, yeah, I'll, I'll come back to it. Um, oh, that's what it was. Taryn at this point in time, how many people in the house have not had to sit on the block during an eviction vote? Like have not made it to the actual voting chairs? Uh, Devin's. Yeah. Is there anyone besides Devin's? Um, Drew has not sat on the eviction chair.
[01:08:40] Yash has not sat on the eviction chair. It's more than I could actually. And I think it's those three. Okay. It's those three. Interesting. Uh, that's pretty impressive for this late in the game. I mean, my favorite thing about this game has been the wide variety of HOH winners that we've had. And the fact that considering we still have the, um, blockbuster, it has not been, I'm going to, I'm going to give Devin's credit for this one.
[01:09:08] He said in, uh, in his HOH week, I'm not just going to put the same people up and have block stars. And I like the fact that we've had maintained pretty much throughout the rest of the season. Um, so we've had just like a huge variety. I know that like having returning players when it's not a full cast of returning players is not my favorite. But like, if you're going to have people who played other reality shows before, at least have them be interesting and going for it.
[01:09:37] So I think, yeah, I think like a, for anyone who's not liking where we're at in this season, at least it's still like very open here at the end of the game. All right. Let's leave it there. We got a live feed update tomorrow morning. We will find out who the HOH is and what the plans are and everything else from Thursday night coming up tomorrow morning. And Taryn, that is officially at what time? Noon Eastern. Noon Eastern. Okay.
[01:10:07] So be there noon Eastern, 9 a.m. Pacific. Summer Stein had a fun time talking through everything with Eric this morning. And, uh, fun stuff if you like that sort of thing. Uh, Summer Stein, Evergreen, uh, with Eric Stein. And then over on Patreon, I will have a Q&A coming up on Friday afternoon.
[01:10:34] Whatever you want to talk about, hot takes and more, you can join me at 3 p.m. Eastern for Q&A over on Patreon. Taryn and I went through all of the win percentages. Angela was, uh, not that high. So we don't have that much to change this week coming out. We'll do it again next week. Yeah. I mean, Devin's should, well, depending on who's HOH, I guess. But Devin's could recover. Yeah. Okay.
[01:11:03] Then over on the slop, fun stuff with Chappelle every week talking through the nonsense of the Big Brother season. So be sure to check that out as well over on Patreon. And then Mike Bloom and I have been previewing the Survivor 51 cast. Mike Bloom did something in this episode, uh, that I will never forget for my entire life. And so, uh, find out what it was when you check out these, uh, Survivor 51 cast previews.
[01:11:30] Including, also, we did a travel, a trip back in time to talk about Operation Italy with Genevieve and Andy and Sam. Who talked, uh, talked us through their time in the most, uh, maybe the new era's biggest move? Operation Italy. And then tickets are on, pre-sale tickets are available for the patrons, uh, on Patreon for Washington, D.C. October 14th.
[01:11:59] And the perfect date there for that. All right. Brandon, what's coming up for you? I've got nothing coming up. Um, stay tuned to everything we're doing here. There's great stuff every day. It's so funny that Mary brought up Clue. Um, because I watched a 90s movie yesterday that I had never seen and it was really good. Um, so if you're interested in watching a movie this weekend, you can watch Father of the Bride. Um, it holds up. Yes? Did you do this for a podcast or you just randomly watched? It was 10.30 last night. I couldn't fall asleep.
[01:12:28] I put on Father of the Bride. Steve Martin and Martin Short doing Steve Martin and Martin Short things. It was really good. And again, if the feeds are down and you have 90 minutes, I got a movie for you. Disney Plus. Wasn't that good? I feel like it was cute. Not, not, not that funny. Yeah, but you know what? In a world that we live in right now, like you need cute sometimes. You need something to just tune out everything else. Um, and that's what, if you need a login for Disney Plus, I'll give it to you. Okay. Wow. Very generous. All right.
[01:12:58] You know me. Yes. Mary, what's coming up for you? I'm going to the mountains of New Hampshire. I'm going hiking. Really? I'm getting off the grid. Yes. Why New Hampshire's mountains? Haven't been to New Hampshire. I'm checking off. I got, I got two states this year. I got Wisconsin. Boom. Checking off New Hampshire. Um, no, there's sections of the AT there that my mom hasn't done. So we're going to go do that. Okay. Um, other than that, that's it. Make sure you check out everything that's on RGP. Okay.
[01:13:28] All right. Uh, I want to hear your clue thoughts later on. All right. Then Taryn, what's coming up for you? Live feed update. Uh, plenty of other podcasts coming. Check out my Patreon. Have some fun. Okay. All right. Fun stuff tonight. Uh, good discussion. Three weeks to go here in Big Brother 28. Be a very fun ride the rest of the way. Also, fun podcast last night with Andy Herron, Aubrey Bracco, Maggie Morgan. Uh, fun one.
[01:13:58] I think it's, uh, also, I think it's evergreen as well. If you want to hear that discussion. Thank you so much for joining us. Take care, everybody. Have a good one. Bye. Bye.
