BB28 Sunday Nominations Ep Recap, Week 1

BB28 Sunday Nominations Ep Recap, Week 1

Big Brother 28 is off to a fast and strategic start as the house settles into the tension between returning players and new faces. Rob Cesternino is joined by Taran Armstrong, Aman Adwin, and Mary Kwiatkowski for this recap episode, where they break down all the major alliances, competitions, and social shakeups from the first big weekend in the house.

The panel digs into how HOH Dee Valladares sets the tone by nominating Yash Patel, Taylor Brown, and Mallory Aurichio, with Ashley Trail joining them as a pawn after Mallory grabs the Veto. Much of the discussion centers on the β€œcrossovers” alliance led by returnees Dee, Rick Devens, and Angela Murray, who recruit Drew Campbell and Barrett Pfeiffer to their tight five. Meanwhile, the β€œred corner” group, Kamuela β€œKamu” Kirk, Haley Thogmartin, and Chuk Anyanwu, believe they’re running the game, showing just how layered and secretive this season’s gameplay is becoming.

  • Taran compares how early-game alliances can change quickly and how being brought in last isn’t always fatal in Big Brother.
  • Aman highlights Dee’s strategy of overlapping alliances and how Rick Devens’s openness with information could make him a wildcard.
  • Mary dives into Chuk’s awkward gender-based pitch to Haley and the β€œfun fact” segment about Ashley never eating a burger.
  • The panel discusses how Jason De Puy is quietly rallying an anti-vet group, but wonders if the newbies will rally before the vets take control.

As alliances form and information spreads, will the new players wake up to the quiet steamroll forming, or are the returnees set for a smooth ride? Catch the episode for all the latest Big Brother 28 strategy talk and drama!

[00:02:28] Sunday night, Big Brother baby. We got a lot to talk about from a very busy weekend and a busy night of Big Brother. And we're excited to bring in a man who's been on fire all weekend. It's Taran Armstrong. Taran, how are you? I'm doing great, Rob. I just had the thought that I should change the lights behind me to a different color. Because I want to be a champion. You know what I mean?

[00:02:58] I just feel like... Saw that guy. When I think about the color or the number four, which there's four of us, I think of the color red. Yes. I'm from the red corner. Yes, you have a red corner literally in your room now. Yeah. Yeah. Yes. Okay. All right. Look at this. On the fly. Adapting. Red corner. All right. And back with us for the first time since draft night, it's Aman Edwin. Aman, how are you? I'm great.

[00:03:27] Happy to be back. I'm trying to follow suit and do the same thing with my lights, but my stuff's not connected. Yes. So, let's do it. Okay. And I'm very excited for the first time in BB28, it's Mary Krakowski. Mary, how are you? I'm doing great. I sadly, I don't have a red corner or couldn't really think of anything to do for the crossovers.

[00:03:53] But I guess you could say, you know, this is a crossover between lots of different RHAP hosts. Yes. We're all crossing over from the various different RHAP podcasts all to come here for one special recap tonight. It's incredible. I have a crossover with a Trader's shirt. So, I'm there. Yes. Okay.

[00:04:17] Well, we're so excited to be here with you live after this Sunday night episode, which was not delayed by any CBS Sports, which we appreciate so much. So, excited to talk about it after. Are we having fun yet in Big Brother 28? I feel like we're off to such a great start. It's a good episode. Yeah. I liked it. Yeah. Okay. Well, Taryn, let me start with you.

[00:04:39] And I know you've been chronicling everything from the live feeds for these last, what was it, about 48 hours since the live feeds came on. This episode really was everything that took place prior to the live feeds coming on. Did this episode fill in a lot of gaps for you? Yes. Yes.

[00:04:58] But in the way that like, if I were doing a fire survivor puzzle, like there were some holes that had exact puzzle pieces that it was able to slot in. It was exactly what we expected to see. Mm-hmm. Just a lot of confirmation of the things that we had seen on the feeds, which is pretty rare, I think in general. Usually there's like some surprising things, but like it all just kind of lines up. Yep. This is that group.

[00:05:28] This is that showmance. This is that. Uh, and, uh, and it all was all like necessary. And I think I'll set it up pretty well for, uh, the viewer of this episode to understand the general dynamics of what's happening in the house. Mary, we haven't gotten to talk to you at all during big brother 28 so far. How are you feeling about all this? You know, it's, it's interesting. Cause I was trying to come at this episode a little bit from, I'll be honest. I did not have time to watch, um, the, uh, big brother unlocked yet.

[00:05:57] And so I was curious to see from the perspective of if anyone else had also not watched that, how seamless was it? I definitely think I know Taryn, you had mentioned it on one of the live feed updates, but like, I think they were wanting that to be like a mainstay episode. Cause a little bit crucial. Otherwise you end up the last one. It ends with Rachel in the volcano and starts with halfway through this puzzle. I'm like, well, hold on. Yeah. Dean here. What? Yeah. It's definitely a little disjointed. So yeah, you really have to get into the unlocked.

[00:06:27] It really reminded me a lot of like when I would buy these VHS is of these animes that I loved as a kid, but like I never bought them in chronological order. So like stuff would be happening, but I don't know how this happened, but here's this new character and I guess we're rocking with it. So yeah, BB unlocked, I guess, uh, I guess we're going to be seeing some, some interesting things on there from here on out. But yeah. But you know, I I'm used to watching very strategic highbrow shows. So I think I, I think I made some connections. I think I figured out what happened in the gap that I missed. You figured it out.

[00:06:57] You'd be surprised. So this episode was really a lot about the very fast start for D and by proxy, Rick Devins and Angela, and it's all coming together and things are going swimmingly so far. And I would love to just, uh, go back and talk about Taryn historically when we've had these returning players come into the house.

[00:07:25] Does it does the first week always typically go as well? Is this like par for the course? Um, it, it, it can be. Yes. I mean, I'm thinking about like, uh, Nicole Franzel's first HOH in big brother 18. She ultimately goes on to win that season. Um, of course we all know Cody's first HOH and all stars. Uh, that wasn't a mixed cast, but similarly went very, very well for him.

[00:07:53] Um, and so, yeah, I mean, if you get a person who knows what they're doing into the most powerful position in the entire game, which is like that first HOH. We're, we're probably going to see some good things. And there's been a streak of people who were not people who knew what they were doing and were, you know, Angela included at the time that she did it.

[00:08:17] Uh, and we've had some wild runs, but, uh, but this time around it's in, it's in capable hands and, uh, they're doing capable things. Yeah. I think that the thing that feels unusual about this, it's that these returnees are here and they're doing great. And I think that it's fun also like we're enjoying seeing like, like it's feeling like the beginning of a steamroll.

[00:08:44] I'm sure it will change. I'm sure it won't be, but this is a fun group to root for. Yeah. And three is interesting as like a number of returnees and it's not, they're not, they're not in pairs. It's not half the cast. They're not captains exactly. They weren't given 1800 friendship bracelets. They were certainly promised HOH. Yes. They were certainly set up well. Um, and, and I'm not going to pretend that it's completely fair.

[00:09:11] What I will say is at least two out of the three of them are like, have also not played big brother before. So it's, it's, you know, it's a little bit asterisk difference. And the other one is Angela. Exactly. And I would say that like one of my favorite things is returning people on reality shows where that person is not like a winner or almost winner or known for being like the world's best. Like Angela is known primarily as being a really fun character. Right. And so that's what I appreciate about this.

[00:09:39] Like what's not to like with her coming back. See, that's the thing that I'm very interested in. Um, because yeah, it's great for Angela now. Um, you know, it's great to have some legends in there from survivor. One of them being a winner that can kind of take a little bit of the heat off of her. She's still the lone big brother returnee.

[00:10:02] Um, and her alliances in power, her alliances, uh, you know, the H of Wages in her alliance. See, things are going by very, very well. Um, but it's Angela. So, you know, things can probably change at the drop of a hat. And I think that's kind of like what production wants as well.

[00:10:25] So I wouldn't be surprised if later on down the line when things get a little hairy or get a little rocky or someone in the alliance doesn't necessarily agree with her or do what they want her to do. I'm wondering how copacetic things will be. Um, but yeah, it's a lovely start. And I'm glad to know that Angela is enjoying herself. I'm glad to see then in this episode, she talks about like, this is going by so much better than what, you know, my first experience was, even though she was the H of Wages and a lot of that was a little self-inflicted.

[00:10:55] Um, yeah, but you know, things can change. Yeah. Well, let's start with Dee and Rick. And this episode starts with them being sort of like on uneasy footing. I buy that they did not know each other was going to be in the house. You heard Dee a little bit talking about how she knows Angela's game. I think that Angela had been pretty widely reported and rumored as a returnee.

[00:11:22] I think it's reasonable that Dee brushed up on Angela. But I think that the Rick Devins part of it, I think was a pretty well kept secret. And I don't think that Dee knew. So I think that there was some legitimate surprise. But I think that the disharmony in the relationship between Rick and Dee has been largely exaggerated for television purposes. I think I agree.

[00:11:50] I think that I mean, I'm sure there was that like small amount of nervousness of like, we're, we're good, right? But like, you could tell how quickly it was dispelled. Like, yeah, yeah, of course, we're good. Oh, good. Yeah. It's like, Rob, because we're Love Island experts now. It's like when it's like when they do the recoupling on Love Island is like Trinity and Bryce. And you're like, well, of course, come on. Yeah. Like, okay, we're gonna, we're gonna get back together, right? Yeah. Yeah, yeah, of course. Yeah.

[00:12:20] Okay, good. Yeah. And you wanted to get back there with me. Yeah. Perfect. Perfect. See, I still have not watched Survivor 50 because I was still in protest of Rob not being on. Oh, wow. Wow. That was such a big sacrifice. Thank you. What a real one. I really didn't know all the history between the two of them won that season. So I was like, I was, it was kind of like new to me to hear, you know, some of the drama

[00:12:47] that happened, you know, apparently it was her that backstabbed him or voted him out or something like that. Honestly, there was not a ton of backstabbing that they were not- In the same real group. Oh, okay. Well, they were in, they were in a tribe together at one point on the Charlie vote. That was the one thing that Rick Devins was blindsided when Dee blindsided Charlie. So Dee voted out one of Rick's allies at one point. I don't think we ever saw them have an onscreen conversation in Survivor 50.

[00:13:16] And then when the merge tribe almost unanimously voted out Dee, Rick also was one of the votes. So there was very little direct, you know, conflict between Rick Devins and Dee in Survivor 50. Right. Okay. So that, and that makes sense because it did really feel to me as well. Like, okay, like this is a new game, new slate. We're both doing this together. We're both the Survivor players here. Let's do Survivor proud.

[00:13:45] The best way that we can do that is working together. Let's just make it happen. So yeah, that's, that's very much the vibe. I think I got to. Yeah. And what choice do they have? Of course, they're going to work together. Uh, they're going to get together with Angela and Angela, as we've discussed, uh, is feeling very good about this setup so far. Let's bring into focus the red corner, which we spent a lot of time on in this episode, Kamu

[00:14:11] and Haley and Chuck are the red corner. And Taryn from the red corners perspective, uh, they are the main characters of big brothers 28, right? A hundred percent. They are the secret Alliance running the game. They are the bomb squad. Like they are running things. Uh, and you honestly, like there's not a lot of reason to believe you aren't. If you're those people, you did make sure to smartly include the other returning survivor

[00:14:39] player, uh, when talking to D. Um, you know, maybe you could have tried to include Angela as well, if you really wanted to, to make sure it was locked in. But like, uh, I think it does make some sense to some degree to not, um, you know, D is, is giving them things, you know, she's talking to them. Uh, I think, you know, once we get a little further down the line, there are maybe some signs that they could pick up on, but yeah, for right now they, they think they've got it made.

[00:15:09] Yeah. They go to D they say, Hey, should we bring in Rick D handles this very smartly as like, uh, okay, if you think so. Um, and they have the meeting with Rick Devins and they come up with what their alliance is going to be. Um, should we talk about the, uh, the Chuck and Haley, uh, of it all. Was this like a little weird to anyone else?

[00:15:37] Just the way the conversation went down. I don't know. I was trying to follow it and it almost felt like Chuck was like stepping in it and trying to overcorrect as he was stepping it. Cause it felt like he was saying like, Oh yeah, there's been so many women winners, which is why I need a woman. Right. So you can get in with the women. I'm great with women, but I need you to get in with them. Right. And I'm like, it was like, he was speaking and realizing, wait, shoot, no, this isn't a positive thing to be saying in front of her. I got to correct it. First of all, I thought Chuck was going to work with all the women.

[00:16:07] I thought that was his whole thing. Yeah. No, just one. Just one, Rob. You just need one woman. He only needs one because then, then if he has a, a, a woman, yes. And he can use the woman to communicate with the other women. Right. Uh, what you didn't realize Rob is that when he said he's really good with women, this is what he meant. He has the strat. He just needs one. Right. And then that one woman. Yes. Exactly. It's every woman. She's every woman.

[00:16:37] And she's a girl's guy. And it's a really good place. I was like, she's in. It's, she did say I'm a girl's guy. It's a really good place as we know in, um, strategy based shows to have someone else be the intermediary connecting you with other people. Right. Like you don't, you don't want to connect with other people. You just want someone else to do it for you. Right. And the problem with this strategy is that, uh, Haley is probably less popular with the women. Yeah.

[00:17:06] That's, that's the gag of it. Yeah. Yeah. You know, uh, we got in the, uh, champagne toast from everybody. A lot of who has the hots for whom. And, uh, we found out that Haley has the hots for Camu. Did, did we know this Taryn? Uh, they spend a lot of time together. Uh, they've been linked pretty tightly, but according to Rome, Haley is into him and has flirted with him.

[00:17:34] And to his credit, Haley has told Camu that she intentionally flirted with him to, uh, flatter him to, to, to play up to his ego. Um, so, you know, I have not seen like a lot of like actual chemistry with, uh, Haley and Camu, but they, they are tightly linked and they, you know, travel together a lot. Okay. Also, did I make this up in the interact in introductions?

[00:18:02] Did Haley give a different age than her age or did I make that up? That was, uh, Lala. Well, okay. Yes. Lala also did that. Okay. Maybe not. I'll go back and check later. I could have sworn that Haley said in her introduction that she was 27. Um, but I mean nine, right? Yeah, she is 29. I just, I might've misheard that. That was probably, I, you know, I am hoping to see this.

[00:18:28] This alleged footage of, um, Haley flirting with Rome because if that is the case, I mean, Rome has already kind of given us the playbook for like the type of girl that he likes. So she's definitely not going to fit that. Like a girl's guy or guy's girl, as she meant to say is definitely not what, uh, Rome is looking to, to latch onto. But, um, you know, interesting nonetheless that she's telling Kamu who she apparently

[00:18:57] has the hots for according to this episode that it was all strategy. I don't know. Interesting. Yeah. So we got to see the formation of the red corner here with the group and that Rick and D do a good job, I guess, of convincing that this is going to be a, uh, a group.

[00:19:18] Um, should Rick and D like they're, they're in this and, and they're feeling like, okay, this is a fake alliance automatically. But I feel like that they're being like a little flip with like, uh, shouldn't they be like, Hey, let's, let's play this out for a little bit. It definitely seems like that's what D was hoping to maybe do. Like have some, have a backup plan at the very least. Mm-hmm.

[00:19:44] I mean, I, I, I, I love the idea of having a main alliance that is not this one because this one is not the alliance that gives them the best, uh, position. In addition to that, by creating a main alliance where they are better positioned, it also gives them dual overlapping alliances, which is more of everything. Uh, it's, it's exponentially better. Um, so I love the idea of immediately like running away.

[00:20:11] Now the, the real debate, I think comes to, uh, what Devons did, which is reveal the alliance to your main alliance, uh, which I'm sure we can talk about. Let's talk about that because, okay, we see that they bring in and drew and then they bring in Barrett. And I'd like to actually talk about the formation of that as well. But then, uh, we see where Rick decides to tell Angela about the alliance. I think that this is actually two separate questions about telling Angela and then telling drew.

[00:20:40] It seems like that telling Angela was probably a good move. Yeah. And I, I do think that this is also like a more survive. I mean, we've seen it on big brother too, but in survivor, there's a lot more like worry about an alliance member finding out that you have a different alliance and how that can blow up. And I do think that this is Rick showing a bit of his, uh, short game play as opposed to, you know, he was just on a shortened, well, whatever 26 day version of survivor.

[00:21:10] And this is a much longer game where it's, it might take a little, you have more time to correct if things get leaked in big brother. Uh, and in survivor you have less. And so I think he was just trying to get ahead of potential problems later, not realizing that like, Hey, at this point, there's only two of us who could leak it me or D and, uh, I guess I'm going to make it me. Yeah. Well, like big brother is so long.

[00:21:39] Uh, and as D said, like things can change. Yeah. Right. Like there's a world where Devins needs to pivot and make the red corner, his main alliance. But, uh, Oh, Angela now knows about it. Uh, and so that's, that's something that could be an issue. Uh, if you really, really plan to go deep with Angela, you trust her. And, you know, specifically that Angela is the kind of player who will not take it lightly.

[00:22:04] If she finds out you've been hiding something from her, she will not just be smoothed over in the way that somebody else might, uh, and has the paranoia to really be like watchful. Um, you, you might have to take this risk and decide I'm either going to tell it to her and it will blow up or, uh, or I can wait and she'll find out and it'll blow up. Uh, so I might as well try to get, get it to her now and hope that she takes it for what it is, which she did.

[00:22:31] So ultimately I think with Angela in particular and the spot they're in, I do think this was the right call. Rick and D together are interesting players to work together because I do think that while they, they both are generally like pretty loyal that there's a little bit of a difference between the two of them. Where Rick is 100% loyal to his people.

[00:22:56] When you are, when Rick locks in with somebody that he shares all the information, everything that he knows he gives to his allies and he will 100% go to any degree to fight for his allies. If we look at D back in survivor 45, D isn't going to share 100% of what she knows with her allies.

[00:23:20] Uh, she was very close with Julie and, and she may have given all the information that she had with Julie, but there was a lot that she wasn't telling Austin who that Austin was under the impression that he was, uh, D's number one. And there was a lot of things that, uh, that, that she hid and manipulated from Austin and drew going into telling Julie to play the hidden immunity idol. When Emily flipping ended up going home.

[00:23:49] And so that D is, is not going to be like as cards up with, uh, like maybe there might be one person she could be like that with, but that she's not going to be like that with the whole group. Yeah. And I, I mean, it's, it's an interesting tension to watch because like, yeah, it does really, it seems like Devin's is really much more like, listen, like I don't, I don't have time for like the runaround.

[00:24:15] If we're going to do this, then let's do this. Um, whereas with D she's, she's going to compartmentalize things, which I think in her mind, it's always going to keep her like one step ahead. Cause like, if I see everything for what it is and I cordon off certain sections of information, then I can probably control the narrative better.

[00:24:34] Um, and she's already trying, like already preemptively trying to strike being like, okay, well, if this thing does blow up because Devin's decided to just let it all hang out, then let's just make sure that he's the one that gets the under the bus and not me. And I live for that because it's kind of hard for her to keep that strategy entirely intact. If you are with somebody like Devin's and with somebody like Angela, because the both of them at any given moment could just be like, you know what, blow it up, blow it up sky high.

[00:25:04] So I'm interested to see how the three of them continue to work around that dynamic. Yeah. And then the, with the second phase of telling drew in this situation, obviously I think this was worse than this telling Angela. Um, my gut also is that some of this had to do with Rick being like, shoot, he's walking over. If someone's going to tell him, I want it to be me and not Angela later at a different time. Like I want to control the narrative of what we're telling drew here.

[00:25:32] Um, but obviously this was still probably not the right move because he doesn't really gain anything by drew knowing this at this point in time. Um, it just also feels like everything is just happening too quickly and way too early. I do generally fall more on the D side of this, uh, where it's like, yeah, I mean, keep the information tight.

[00:25:54] Uh, if you need to expose it at some point, it's usually pretty easy to be like, oh yeah, that's a thing that started early, but it never really meant anything. Or like, oh, they approached us at some point. Uh, if you, if you're like, need to like, oh yeah, that was like, uh, like a day or two ago. I didn't have a chance. You know, there's all kinds of ways that you can generally smooth it over. And even if the explanation isn't rock solid, like what are people really going to do?

[00:26:21] Um, it's better that they didn't have the information to kill you with than for them to be like, oh, that's annoying, but you're still all of my allies. So like, uh, yeah. Um, I think the real issue though, though, is that, uh, Devin's did it without consulting D. That's the thing I would be the most upset about if I were D. The fact that he just kind of like did it on his own and it's information that's pertinent to me.

[00:26:46] Uh, I'd be like, I don't know if I can trust this guy, not only as like a potential loose cannon, but if it's not a loose cannon, then it was an intentional move to be like, I'm sharing this information with you and not D. And I'm worried about both of those things. Yeah. I think it was much more the Rick Devins just being a loose cannon and just being somebody who is going to like improv. He loves chaos.

[00:27:11] I think that there was, he, I think he felt really bad about what happened, but D was really upset about this. Uh, yeah. Rob, you talked to Rick, you know, at the, at the survivor 50 finale and he, uh, waxed poetic about how great of a game player he thought that Emily Flippen was. Did he take maybe too much from her gameplay of sharing too much information? Yeah. Maybe that could be it.

[00:27:36] But also, you know, survivor 50 was a, a very like, no, there were, there were almost no secrets in survivor 50 that, that really sharing information was currency. And I think it was how you built trust. And I think that Rick is probably taking a lot of that into survivor 50 of, okay, the way I'm locking in with people is I'm sharing all the information that I have. And I think that it's probably something that is not going to translate as well to this big brother season.

[00:28:06] And I was just gonna say like Rick is, we've, you know, talked about how, like how he's a great personality to be very entertaining on big brother. And I also, I don't know him personally, but I could see him coming into a game like this going, oh, I just really want to enjoy the experience and do a lot of fun things and throw stuff at the wall. And I just wish he would sit for one second and go, I'm actually in a great spot and could do really well in this game, but I just need to slow down. I just need to slow down. I don't actually need to do all this. I'm not even, I'm not on the block. I'm not cornered.

[00:28:34] I don't need to be using information as currency yet. But like, I want him, I want, I want him to know, like, you're, you're fine. You're fine. Chill out. It's okay. To be fair, I guess, I think, I think if I'm reading Rick correctly, I think that like, this is him just settled. Like, these are my allies. We're going to joke around about the red corner. Isn't that a dumb name? Like, we're going to like, let's just have it all out. This is him and Christian joking about setting up the fake idol.

[00:29:01] You know, like, like he wants to just be with his people and not have to deal with like, which secret do I tell which person to these people in particular? It was interesting though, because like, correct me if I'm wrong, but did he say to Angela, like Angela's like my real number one? Is that what he said in the DR? Or did I, did I misinterpret that? I think he was implying Angela and D are like the, the real. Okay. Like allies. Okay. And, and that, yeah. Angela might've said that.

[00:29:30] I think they've all basically said. Okay. Cause I was like, at first I was like, okay, that's interesting. So it's like, you are, you're siding with Angela in the side of things, which I think is good for you because I think at the same time, like we said, D is certainly like she, like when they, when the red corner came to her and said, Hey, well, I guess not the red corner at that point, but Kamu, Chuck and Haley came to her and were like, yeah.

[00:29:59] So like, let's, let's bring in Devin. She's like, let's do it. But like, let's do it on a preliminary basis. Like we'll, we'll see how it goes. And I thought that that was very interesting. Cause I feel like it, again, it's like really just like, she's setting herself up to be in a four with Devin's attached as opposed to like all five of them together. So in the, in the instance that some ish goes down, Devin's is the one that gets kicked.

[00:30:28] So I thought that in the event that that's what she's doing. Okay. Devin's it might behoove you to actually be like, all right, well, Angela, this is what's going on. You didn't hear it from me, but it doesn't seem like that's what he's doing. It seems like he's just kind of just, you know, just letting it all hang out. So we'll see. We'll see.

[00:30:49] I do think that based off of tonight's episode, I think that Rick Devins is going to have maybe 300 confessionals over the course of the season. If he makes it to the end, how many news reports do we think we're going to get? You know that we've talked all the time about the people who will take the producer's suggestions in the diary room. Rick Devins, 100% will be very game to play ball with the producers in the diary room.

[00:31:18] So Rick is going to have a dominant diary room. And he's going to like really all through these episodes, you're going to see a ton of Rick Devins, which I think is going to really help him, especially when we have a fan vote coming up. Yeah. Yeah. I'm excited. I mean, by the end of the season, he might be trying to come for Julie's job. Listen. I'd be surprised. Listen. And it wouldn't be the first time people rumored in to host a CBS reality show. It's summer. It's hot out.

[00:31:48] You want clothes that feel cool and comfortable. You don't want to feel like you've gotten a punishment from a big brother in the veto competition. They're lightweight, breathable, drawstring waist, relaxed fit. And they're very affordable.

It's not for those with 14 or fewer headache days a month. It prevents on average 8 to 9 headache days a month versus 6 to 7 for placebo. Prescription Botox is injected by your doctor. Effects of Botox may spread hours to weeks after injection, causing serious symptoms. Allerge your doctor right away as difficulty swallowing, speaking, breathing, eye problems, or muscle weakness can be signs of a life-threatening condition.

[00:34:11] Patients with these conditions before injection are at highest risk. Side effects may include allergic reactions, neck and injection site pain, fatigue, and headache. Allergic reactions can include rash, welts, asthma symptoms, and dizziness. Don't receive Botox if there's a skin infection. Tell your doctor your medical history, muscle or nerve conditions, including ALS Lou Gehrig's disease, myasthenia gravis or Lambert-Eaton syndrome, and medications, including botulinum toxins, as these may increase the risk of serious side effects. [00:35:33] We saw that it was kind of a natural thing for Rick and Dee and Angela to come together, and the first person that they bring in is going to be Drew. I don't think we're spoiling too much from the live feeds, Taren, to say that Rick and Drew have a pretty close bond. Yes. Yes. And you can see that Rick clearly is seeing Drew as his guy, I think.

[00:36:01] If Devens was to break out of the vet grouping, I think it would be with Drew. I think that he just sees the kind of enthusiasm for the game that he appreciates. And so you can tell on the feeds, too, that anytime they get together, I feel like he's most excited to be around Drew. Yeah.

[00:36:31] I mean, it's kind of endearing. I kind of like this little duo going on. It really feels like Devens has really taken a liking to him and kind of sees him as like a, I don't know, maybe like a nephew-type figure, and it's kind of sweet. And I think that Drew, obviously, is a big fan of both shows. I mean, we know he's a big fan of RHAP. I guess this is the time for me to let you guys know that, yes, I did let you guys know that he did message me.

[00:37:00] I can read the message right here. Yes, what did Team Drew say to you, Amon? He said, Hi, Amon. I just wanted to reach out and extend my sincerest, period, apologies, period. I was clearly unfamiliar with your ball knowledge, and that is entirely on me. As somebody who not only drafted Dave Vaughn first in All-Stars, but also had the right mind to give Taylor Hale a 10 in her first week, it's clear that your knowledge is far ahead of any of the other drafters.

[00:37:29] The fact that I reached out to them honestly should only serve as an example that you are truly the greatest drafter, as you didn't even need any insider information to get the right choice. Drew was the absolute steal of the draft, and he's going to work so hard every day to prove that every person chosen before him was a mistake. Congratulations on winning the Big Brother Draft, and I look forward to seeing Drew win this season. Wow. Lovely. Yo, he is somebody employed, okay?

[00:38:00] It is the biggest campaign spokesman I think that we've ever seen in the preseason. It's crazy. Yeah. Shout out to Amon's elite ball knowledge. I live. I live. Yeah. All right, so that was the easy one.

[00:38:15] Then they wanted to bring in Barrett, who was excited, but then did mention that Barrett felt a little some type of way about how that feeling very much like that he was a second pick for the draft. Much like Drew. I've been talking a lot about how this alliance is like, it's just textbook. They're doing everything by the book. They're doing everything the way that they're supposed to be doing it.

[00:38:44] This is one of the few instances where, like, oops, forgot to make sure that Drew and Barrett were brought in in a way that makes them feel like they're in on the ground floor. That said, they are three vets bringing in two new players. I think they're always going to feel that way.

[00:39:05] And I feel like Barrett saying this in the DR is probably more just kind of, like, covering, like, just so you guys know, I'm aware that I was brought in last. Yeah.

[00:39:19] The reality of the situation right now for Barrett is that not only is this alliance helping keep him off the block because there are people pushing for it, but he doesn't have a ton of other options at the moment in terms of, like, you know, at least people, connected people. He does have some good relationships, but, you know, most of his eggs are in this basket right now. It's not like it looks like or it seems like he's willing or capable to do anything else at the moment. Yeah.

[00:39:49] And considering the fact that we've seen in previous seasons an alliance of seven or eight or nine people get formed and the people who are seven or eight or nine in it are just like, yay, I'm so happy to be in this alliance. Like, I think it's showing me that Barrett's at least aware enough to be clocking that this is happening the way it is, which is great. Speaks to him, you know, strategically. But also, yeah, there's like a, you know, worst case scenario, you're fifth with three returning players. That's pretty good. Yeah. Not bad.

[00:40:18] And again, like you said, Ternan, it's like, there's really not much that they can do about that. Like, you can't say no, obviously, because then what? But, and then on top of that, even if they were in the room, I still feel like we'd probably be getting a DR from Barrett being like, it's three returnies. Like, clearly they're doing this to solidify something for themselves and they feel the need to bring in other people so that it doesn't feel like a big target for them.

[00:40:45] But yeah, I mean, there's not really, they don't really have any other option other than to bring in other people because they can't win the game with just the three of them. They have no other, they have no other choice. So it's better to be included in that choice than, than not at all. So. It is also probably worth pointing out because obviously being brought in last is a red flag. Everyone knows this. But there is nuance to that.

[00:41:07] Like, there's a difference between being brought into a five person alliance on day two, last versus like a seven, eight person alliance on day seven, where it's like, hey, we were thinking of pulling you in. You know, it's still so early and the numbers are so small that the dynamics could change very easily. Like being fifth is fine at this point.

[00:41:35] And we see players like this who know the game often feel a little, I think, over skeptical of being brought into something like this at first. You know, Quinn obviously had that fear in with the Pentagon. And what we saw was ultimately the Pentagon did completely shift. And Quinn was actually really well positioned in that group by the end of all of that shifting. Michael was concerned about it with the post pack situation. And, you know, to some degree, rightfully so.

[00:42:04] But again, things changed over the course of time. He ended up in a really good spot. So, you know, I think that this isn't something that people need to be too, too concerned about, especially in the short term. So worth pointing out. It's still a red flag. Be aware of it. But like, you know. How dare you make me remember Poe's pack? Oh, yeah. I forgot about that, too. Do we love the name crossover, though? Because I feel like in some ways it completely, I mean, it's uninspired.

[00:42:34] What are they, an SUV? Yeah. It doesn't make me think of anything. It's uninspired, first of all. But if I were Drew and Barrett, I'd be like, this is all about you. Like the three of you. Like Big Brother and Survivor players crossing over. Like, I'm a new Big Brother player. I'm not like an established Big Brother figure. You know what I mean?

[00:42:53] Like the worst part is that just a few seasons ago, a Survivor player and the brother of a Survivor player and some Big Brother players came together and thought, you know, what would be a good name for this? Crossroads. Crossroads.

[00:43:11] The Sari-Cori alliance was called Crossroads, which is the better version of this name, which is just like a very similar concept. They came to like almost the same conclusion, but with a slightly worse sounding name, which is Crossovers. Yeah. In my opinion. Mm-hmm. It's not too late to change it in the feeds. It is too late to change it on the show, though. They've already done that. And this is where we're at.

[00:43:41] One thing about having both Dee and Devin. Are we going with Devin's? I have him as Rick in my notes. Okay, Devin's. Oh, man. All right. So the one thing about Dee and Devin's on this that's so interesting is like how much more Survivor references or like metaphors are there? Are we going to get these? And we already had Rick in this episode say, oh, it feels like the merge. There's so many people, which is not really something we had with Sari just by herself. Like who is she going to make these jokes to?

[00:44:11] So I'm just curious to know, like it does feel very much more Survivory for the first time than even having like one individual Big Brother player go on Survivor or something. Yeah, it's an interesting thought. I think it's I think especially like Devin's and Dee are a lot more aware of the differences in how the game plays. So we might hear more comments on it. Like in many ways, Sari died so they could thrive.

[00:44:41] Like she she came on here and was hit in the face with the difference. And then everyone was able to analyze that. They were able to talk to Sari, I'm sure, and realize like, oh, okay, I need to be prepared for how different the game plays out and the pacing and everything. And so so, yeah, I think they not only are more ready for the pace of Big Brother, but they they might talk about it more like actively like, okay, on Survivor, I might be doing this.

[00:45:08] In fact, I am hearing some of that from Devin's in terms of like him playing his threat level down. He's like the thing I'm known for on Survivor is tricking people with idols and stuff. There's none of that here on Big Brother. I can't trick people on Big Brother. So. So, yeah, I think I think we'll hear some some comparisons. If anything, I just love that we're getting more and more empirical evidence that Big Brother is the more challenging game to win. And it is much more of a marathon than it is a sprint.

[00:45:38] And yeah, we knew this to be true, but I just love being proven right again. I want to talk about something that happened with the crossovers in this episode where they were having their meeting. They're up in the HOH room and Camu rings the doorbell. Um, D says to Camu, hey, can you give us 10 minutes? I thought this was maybe a misstep from D. She's supposed to be in this alliance with Camu.

[00:46:06] What reason could she have to tell him why he couldn't come in the meeting? You know, I mean, it definitely gave me pause. But the way that Camu actually waited out there, I'm like. Like, you know, I mean, she's probably she's just going to have to say to him, like, look, like, you know, they we they had a we had like a meeting about a potential alliance. It's it's nothing, though. Like, it's not going to happen.

[00:46:33] And like, and I feel like Camu is the type to like really, really eat it up because he sees red corner as as fact and the way of the land. Um, and so I don't I don't know. I don't I don't think it's that much of a misstep. But I definitely did have like the reservation because she was so direct with the 10 minutes, please. I'm like, 10 minutes is a lot. You could have at least had five. Yeah, that's a long time.

[00:47:01] I'm assuming that was like probably around the time she was doing some like ones and stuff, directed convos, maybe not specifically one on ones, but like directed conversations about like nominations and stuff. I think the fact that Devons is in there, too, gives him some reassurance that it's not D walking out solo on the alliance. I had the same reaction, my same the same instincts of like, oh, how are they going to kind of get out of this clean?

[00:47:27] I mean, this wasn't on the feed, so I don't know exactly how it was resolved. But as far as I'm aware, there's zero suspicion on Common Sparks. Maybe it's because I've been around a lot of like new parents, but it's like a parenting tactic to like give time warnings of like, oh, five more minutes. OK, you know, three more minutes, one more minute. And as we know, D has four children. Right. Yes. Instead of just dropping right to the like, oh, yes. OK, conversation over. Come on in.

[00:47:56] And so I felt like I was like, oh, this is good because D being the H.O.H., like now's the time to set precedence that like I'm not going to drop everything necessarily just to, you know, have a conversation. So I thought I actually kind of liked it. Yeah. I don't know the H.O.H. room etiquette well enough. It just seems like it would have been better to just let him in and say that we weren't talking about anything. We're just hanging out up here rather than to not have him come in. Yeah, probably. It's probably probably a smarter move. Yeah.

[00:48:24] OK, let's talk about the nominees, because I think this was kind of a wacky night in a 90 minute episode for the three noms where we didn't really get to see too much of what went wrong for these three nominees. We did see a segment with Mallory being a little awkward with D.

[00:48:46] I'm curious to know from the feeds, has Mallory on the feeds given this same type of awkwardness? Not to this level. I think the edit, you know, emphasized the awkwardness. She is an awkward person, but I think the edit sort of magnified it. This is what they do very often.

[00:49:11] If we're to believe their timeline, then D had already decided Mallory was her nominee by the time this conversation happened, which is also going to impact how it lands. D's obviously not going to be like as interested in being open and talking gameplay with somebody she plans to nominate.

[00:49:30] Right. And so clearly Mallory understood that she should be talking to the H.O.H., but didn't have a lot to say and wasn't getting a lot from her and just kept trying and trying and trying. And unfortunately for her, I think her fate was had already been sealed. Yeah, we saw Mallory also as part of the three girls who were working out in the gym and Kamu said, OK, well, Mallory and Melody and Lyric are kind of close. And so maybe we should put them up on the block.

[00:50:00] That's what he was thinking. As far as Yash and Taylor goes, Taylor, I'm trying to even think if she had a moment in this episode or if we're just going off of that. Rick Devins didn't say hi to her on Big Brother Unlocked. And that's the reason why she's on the block. Yeah, that's I think the biggest missing piece for me was I was hoping for more of an explanation as to why Taylor was on the block and what happened with that.

[00:50:28] Devin's situation, because basically all we got in the episode is he saying Taylor hasn't talked to me at all. And that may or may not be true. And we know that there was an incident with Devin's. We just don't know where it went. It did anybody catch on to it. I would have to assume that's the biggest reason for why this might have happened. And on top of the fact that Taylor does lack some significant connections at this point.

[00:50:57] But but other than that, yeah, we don't really have a good explanation. Darren, do you know which bedroom Taylor is in? She's a have not. She isn't. She's a have not. So she's. Yeah. So she was in the group with with Chuck and and Haley and. And who? Oh, I think it was Drew. I mean, this is the thing, right? I mean, that explains it without having to do anything else.

[00:51:27] Drew is not going to be nominated. Chuck was safe and Haley's in the red corner. So it had to be Taylor by default. And she doesn't know that. She doesn't know that. Yeah. OK. And then Yash. Also, we saw nothing of him in the whole episode other than him not liking the PDA from Roman Lyric. That's the only time I think he talked in the episode. Well, he didn't play out how he helped.

[00:51:55] The creaky wheel or hearing people macking right next to you? I cannot tell you how many times has I had the the feeds on in the background in my apartment. Wasn't sure where this was going. And I kept hearing that little creepy noise. Yeah. Yeah. And I was like, is there a mouse in my apartment? Like, what is going on? Like, it was freaking me out like every five seconds. Anyway, sorry. Yeah. Tara, what was the other moment that Yash had?

[00:52:23] He talked about how he helped D win with the puzzle. And which was pretty. And so something that they didn't really show, which maybe just didn't really happen, is that like there was talk of D telling her team like you're good because you helped me win. And then didn't really give Yash a heads up that that was no longer in play. So so that's worthwhile. But but Yash also just hasn't really been doing a whole lot in terms of making connections.

[00:52:52] He has connections here and there. But Yash is the person who probably knows the show the least and really just does not know what he should be doing to not be in this position. And correct me if I'm wrong, that we did not get any preference for a target in the episode, right? Not in the episode, as far as I'm aware. Yeah. OK. We had some other fun moments over the course of the night.

[00:53:19] And we had a Jason's big moment from the night where that he talked to Angela about how he doesn't know how to connect in this house with all these straight people. Are you doing this because I'm gay, Rob? I'm gay. I was really going to you for your drag race expertise. Yes. No, I am. I actually teared up a little bit. I did. I am because I get that.

[00:53:47] But, you know, it's hard. It's hard. Being on Drag Race, you are surrounded by people that support you, love the art form, love the entertainment of it all. And yes, I mean, I've heard plenty of drag queens and not only drag queens, but just performance in general talk about like how their performance is their shield, right?

[00:54:12] And so to not necessarily have that at all times, because I'm sure production probably gave him rules as to how often he can be in and out of drag. And on top of that, I'm sure he just kind of just wants to be himself. And I'm really enjoying Jason because I was just thinking about this earlier. This is a very rare instance in which you really get to see these drag queens from dragways actually be themselves. Because yes, there are a lot of famous drag queens that go on after the show and continue to produce content or whatever.

[00:54:41] But it's always dragways adjacent. They always still kind of have that veneer of their drag persona. But I feel like I'm actually getting to know Jason, the person, and not Selena. So it's been very interesting to watch him navigate through this. But I thought that this moment between him and Angela was just absolutely just like, just beautiful. And I love that it coincided with Angela's own journey with her son. So like recently too. So I mean, I get it.

[00:55:10] I sympathize with him in there for real because sometimes it's hard. It's hard to like know, like, are you the type of straight person that's going to be like talking shit behind my back? Or am I good with you? And it's kind of hard to always be able to tell. So I'm happy that he's at least able to have Angela as his mama bear, as she so puts it. Yeah, it was a little weird from the episode though of not giving us any like, we have this big moment. And then we never hear Angela mention Jason again in her list of people she likes.

[00:55:38] So I know that there's more on the feed. They don't have a super strong connection. I think it was just a moment that they shared. Yeah. I do think this was illuminating to me in terms of like how Jason has been moving on the feeds. You do see him focus a lot more, I think, in like one-on-one situations. He's developed some good relationships with the people that I think he feels the safest with, that he likes the most.

[00:56:08] But we've seen that he's been very sort of avoidant of certain other people, which is potentially going to maybe put him in a rough spot in the future. We'll see. But it's so interesting that like, you know, he could have come in as an icon and he would have, I think, just automatically had an alliance with Angela D and Devin. Yeah.

[00:56:34] He could have also chosen to tell them that he was on Drag Race and probably been included in what they were doing. But as we saw in the premiere, Jason has a lot of distrust for Devin's in particular and is probably the one of the most like anti-vet, you know, presences in the house. Yeah. It might be hard to tell now, but did anyone do any investigation to see whether or not Angela was following him on Instagram?

[00:57:04] Oh, I didn't. Yeah. But I'm sure she, I mean, if she follows drag queens, especially of the recent seasons, it would not be surprising if she knows. Yeah, that was a fun moment in the episode where Angela thought she recognized Jason and that Jason was Ainsley at one point in drag. And it was like, is he going to get busted?

[00:57:30] I was shocked that he admitted that because like, that's like the direct link. Because like, if you, if she can remember and put two and two together, oh, you're the drag queen that was there from Ripa's Drag Race at the press day. Like, I just, like, that was, I was shocked that he even went that far. Like, why are you giving her more info? Just be like. I think that was just, it was just panicking. Like, this is how you know me. Not, not Drag Race. Not Drag Race. It was because that one time I was, you probably just saw one picture. Yeah.

[00:57:58] By the way, Chad is saying that she's not following Jason. Oh, okay. Okay. So. Chad also told me that I missed it. Dee did tell her team that they were good prior to pressing the button during the competition. Chad doesn't miss. Elite ball knowledge from the chat. Dee was stressing me out with how quickly she just ducked under the rope when they were doing that challenge too. Yeah. I was like, I was like, I'd be getting on all fours and crawling across the ground to reach that buzzer.

[00:59:28] See terms. Ouch. This knee is killing me. But I can't stop training. The marathon is in two weeks. Let's get on ZocDoc and find a doctor to take a look at that for you. Okay. Here's a review. Dr. Craddock really takes his time. No, I don't have time. What about Dr. Charles? His patients say he can help find a quick fix, and he's in network. Great. Now we're talking. Book it. Booked. One mile down. 19 to go. Bring it on. You've got options.

[00:59:57] Download the ZocDoc app today. We got a showman segment with Rome and Lyric, and we got to see a little bit of how that all came to be. And very much they were playing with iTag. Is that what Lyric said? Yes. Yes. iTag. And they were both, they happened to be each other's type, and they found each other in this crazy Big Brother house.

[01:00:24] Did you catch the shady Big Brother producers posting what day it was? And I believe this is a first. Is it still day two when Rome and Lyric were getting into bed? I love it. So, my turn, listen. Maybe Love Island is a psyop. I don't know. But I'm just like, okay. Sure. Good for them.

[01:00:54] Love Island, very popular. Big Brother trying to get some of that action. Yeah. Yeah. What I particularly loved about this segment is that they made fun of it. Even though I think that they're like, to be fair to Rome and Lyric, we've seen many times. This is a very common occurrence. You know, the Big Brother 19 feeds opened to Cody and Jessica making their first baby. You know what I mean?

[01:01:23] Like, this happens a lot. But, and if you watch Love Island, they're like at makeout about five seconds in. So, like, this is where I'm desensitized. But I liked that they were having fun with this instead of trying to sell me that this was like some whirlwind romance. Yeah. Like they often do. Because that's not interesting. But seeing, you know, the people around them be like, oh, they're making out at night and this is only day two. Like, that's a fun segment for a showmance, in my opinion.

[01:01:54] Actually, happy time. I just had two days is crazy. I was like, yeah, it is. But you're, you know, you're in the Big Brother house. And that's just what's going to happen. I mean, they were really turning the volume up on those. Yeah. I was like, Jesus Christ. Can we talk about the setup for this particular bedroom? Because this is, this is new in the Big Brother house, right? These, this bunk bedroom. Relatively, yeah. It's, they had the bunk beds last season.

[01:02:24] Okay. I, I didn't notice. Is there a mirrored wall opposite the bunk beds? Like, could people in a different bunk see in the mirror? Oh, interesting. Like, because sometimes there, there is like a mirrored wall above the dresser. So I just wasn't sure if that was the case here. Because I think, you know, at least if there's not a mirror, there's the illusion that like, well, they can't see us. Because we're, we're in our own little pod. If there is a mirror in there.

[01:02:50] This, this is where Ava overheard people talking about her. Oh, that's right. That's right.

[01:03:25] That's right. And we got to know a lot of who has the hots for whom, including, we mentioned Haley. Drew had the hots for Mallory. No, Melody. Melody. Melody. Sorry. I did it too, Taryn. Yeah. Yeah. We know Rome has the hots for Lyric. Taylor says Yash is a cutie.

[01:03:55] That's a, that's a, that's an interesting one. That could be cute. And, and Barrett says D is his survivor crush. More on that to come. Oh yeah. I will tell you, I think every single one of these has had at least a tiny bit of resonance on the feeds. Okay. Can we talk about that? Ashley has never had a burger. She's lying. She's a liar.

[01:04:24] I think it's probably extremely likely that she's lying, but I also was thinking about like, I've done this. Like I did, I've done this and it's, it's, it can be true, but like who did it? Someone on survivor was like, I didn't eat any fruit. I've never had a grape before or whatever. Like, Oh, I've never heard of pineapple. What is that? Like, this is a move. This is a move that it might be true, but it's probably like she was saying. It's like, well, I've had all the components of a burger, but I've never stacked them up before. So I haven't had one, but like, yeah.

[01:04:53] And I've never had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich before last year. And, and like people find that funny, but like, that's what are we doing? Is that real, Mary? Yeah. Well, yeah. Do you have a peanut allergy? No, I just don't like, I don't like the consistency of them together. Hmm. But that means you had to have had it to know that you don't like it. Right. I mean, like I probably, as a kid was handed one and took a bite and was like, no, but like, does that count as having eaten one? Yeah. I've tried it.

[01:05:19] It just seems odd that, that you would have, you would want a hamburger and you could not at any point find the opportunity to have the hamburger. She's not a vegetarian. Yeah. Right. Well, that's the, that's the thing. Like it, it very well could be, and likely is real, but the problem is it's clearly on purpose. Like, you know what I mean? Like this is her fun fact.

[01:05:43] And she has purposely decided that it's very quirky to have never eaten a burger despite having all of this foreknowledge of like, but no, I am not a vegetarian. And yes, I have eaten all of the components, but never a burger. Like you keep kosher. No, sometimes people do things for the bit, you know, like I'll see bullet train in theaters five times because it's funny to keep doing that. Yeah. I remember that. Like sometimes you just do things. And I think that this is very clear.

[01:06:12] Like it might be true. It might not. It doesn't matter, but it's a bit. It's her thing. This is my thing with it. I think it's a failed bit. If it's, if it's like intentionally done as a fun fact, because it's no longer a fun fact that you don't, that you haven't eaten a burger if you did it on purpose so that it could be a fun fact. Unless your fun fact is that my fun fact is that I purposely have never eaten a burger so that I can use it as a fun fact. That's more interesting. Yeah. I don't know. I think she's full of it. I think she had a burger at some point.

[01:06:42] And I think that it was just a really cool and interesting thing to say. I don't know. I just, I mean, you're a bartender for goodness sake. Like burgers are all over the bars. Like I just, I just don't buy it. But okay. Okay, sis. All right. That's fine. All right. Any other fun moments from the episode? Good stuff. Good episode. It was good.

[01:07:12] I think the fact that we got the competition out of the way early and the rest of it was just like all good content. Yeah. Exactly what we needed. Okay. All right. So with that, let's go ahead and let's talk about a very busy weekend of everything we've learned on the live feeds. And what's going on today as we bring in the spoilers? Here we go. The Office of Civil Defense has issued the following message.

[01:07:42] This is a spoiler warning. A spoiler. Warning means that an actual spoiler against this country has been detected and that protective action should be taken. Yes. I remember I have a Rick Devins puppet. I don't have a D. I don't have a D puppet. You have until the next episode to do that. I don't think I can do a D impression. I think that's probably I can't do it.

[01:08:05] Um, but, uh, let's talk about the live feeds and everything that's going on. And Taryn, I know we've learned so much and we had our nominations. We also had a veto over the weekend. Yes. Uh, there's a lot to, a lot to talk about. So, um, as we know, D the HOH nominated Yash, Taylor, and Mallory.

[01:08:33] Uh, Mallory was the stated target for a little while. Uh, but over time, discussion started to turn to Yash as more of a comp threat. Uh, that if he stays on the block, maybe we want to target him. Um, and ultimately it didn't matter whether or not Mallory's target shifted off of her because she ended up winning the veto. Uh, and of course plans to take herself off the block.

[01:09:00] So, the main question on everyone's mind, who is going to replace her? There's a whole sort of thing with Melody that we can, uh, talk about. But ultimately, the answer is Ashley. Okay. As the replacement. The reason being, D has nominated one from every group. The remaining group are the two people that did not play, uh, Barrett and Ashley. She's obviously not nominating Barrett.

[01:09:28] And Ashley doesn't really have many connections or anybody that will put up a fight for her. So, Ashley makes a lot of sense as a pawn to put up on the block next to Taylor and Yash. Yash being the primary target. Taylor being the backup target if Yash wins the blockbuster. Why is Yash the primary target? Because he is, uh, like, more fit. He's a stronger guy. He was right behind Mallory.

[01:09:56] And gets along more with the bros. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, it makes sense. I think, you know, as far as D is concerned, yeah, like, Ashley is a little isolated. I think that most people enjoy Ashley. It doesn't seem like she spent a lot of time talking hard game. I think the most game that we've seen her talk is when D was telling her she's going to go up.

[01:10:25] So, I don't really know what she thinks she's going to do if she doesn't, like, ramp things into high gear. Um, and a lot of this also was, of the other nominees, also pushing, namely Taylor, kind of pushing for this to be the case. So, yeah, it's, uh, you know, I don't think it's a bad backup decision.

[01:10:49] Um, I think that D is going to have something to worry about if Mallory wins because Mallory has been very vocal about being like, well, there has to be repercussions for putting me up. So, if I win next week, D's going up. So, that's going to be interesting coming down the line. But, uh, yeah, it makes sense. Can we talk a little bit about the house dynamics overall that I feel like we talked a lot about the crossovers tonight.

[01:11:13] We talked about the red circle, but is there another, uh, like, organized group that is, uh, more of the newbies coming together with an anti-returnee slant? A bit, yes. Um, I actually, I prepped a little bit of, like, uh, I've got some faces if you want to make me big on the screen. Sure. Um, I can, uh, I can pull. I want to be big. Hopefully you can see this. Yes.

[01:11:43] Um, it's, uh, there we go. Uh, so we've got, uh, this is, I've sort of arranged these faces, if you're watching the video version of this, uh, in the way that most people see the structure of the house. So, most people see this red corner. We're going to full frame on, on Taryn, uh, just so, uh, we're still, we're all still here.

[01:12:04] Most people see this red corner, uh, alliance of Kamu, Haley, and Chuck, uh, as the, the people influencing D, the HOH. Um, that's what a lot of people are. They don't know about the red corner alliance, but they really see this Haley, D, Kamu, and Chuck thing, uh, as influencing D. They do see that D is connected to Devin's and Angela in some capacity. Uh, some people feel more strongly than others about how strong that is.

[01:12:34] Jason in particular is very vocal about the fact that these three are really tight and working together. Um, then, uh, you have, like, people like Drew and Barrett who are seen mostly as, like, having decent relationships, but, like, out floating on their own. Uh, Barrett and Ashley's loosely grouped together because of their time, uh, not competing. Um, you have the trio of Lyric, Melody, and Mallory, but Melody is really looking to get out of here.

[01:13:02] Um, and you have Rome and Lyric, the showman's, Latrice really tight with Rome, Jason really tight with both of them. Latrice and Jason also tight. Latrice and Taylor both really close. Uh, and Yash has, uh, a connection to Taylor and Latrice. He's got a few connections elsewhere, but not really anything super solid. And Mallory's still kind of struggling to get back in. So that's how people see the structure of the house.

[01:13:29] Now, we know that, uh, that things are actually a little bit different. We know that Drew is actually really in tight here and there here and, uh, that this is fake. Um, and that Melody actually has a secret alliance with Drew that he's told the rest of the crossovers about. And he's saying that we'll use her as a parachute alliance. Um, Ashley is really like, you can now see out on her own. Mallory is like, you know, closer to this side of things.

[01:13:57] Really doesn't like Dee and Haley and Kamu and wants to nominate the three of them. Jason is doing his best to organize this group of Rome, Lyric, Latrice, like this, these people. He wants those people to be anti-Vet. He's going after Devins. He's going after Dee. Uh, and, uh, as far as I'm aware, that's solidifying more and more as we speak, like during, uh, um, the, the episode and, and, and what's happening right now.

[01:14:27] Um, so, uh, the problem mostly honestly is that Rome and Lyric are so focused on each other, uh, that, uh, they haven't really been like locked in on the game. Um, and, uh, and so this, this, this, like anti-Vet group is not the most organized at the moment, but, uh, but, you know, it's certainly something that could come into play.

[01:14:49] The, the benefit of what Dee and Devins have set up is that if anybody goes after, you know, this, like the Dee side of things, they're probably nominating people like Haley and Kamu alongside Dee. Maybe Jason himself might put up like a Devins and Dee, uh, and, and maybe all three, if he really wants to go for it. But most people would do like Dee, Haley, Kamu, maybe Dee, Devins, Haley, something along those lines.

[01:15:14] At which point, of course, uh, they would, uh, the rest of the Alliance and their, uh, subsequent sort of like, uh, people can try to protect, uh, Dee, Devins, whoever else might get nominated. So, uh, that is the, the general structure I think of, uh, the house here. Yeah. I'm sure having three nominees from the non-Vet side of the house might also start getting people talking about like, hey, this is maybe we're,

[01:15:44] we're being led to the slaughter here. Yeah. Yeah. They, the problem is they don't see how locked in that group is. Uh, like I said, they see it as, you know, Dee is with Kamu, Haley, Chuck. Dee has a connection to Devins and Angela. They don't know that Dee has a super locked in Alliance with Devins, Angela, Barrett, and Drew, and that Drew has Melody and that Barrett has his own connections. And Angela has developed her own connections.

[01:16:11] Um, you know, even Jason, who I think has clocked them the most is like Devins, Dee, and Angela are super locked in. We need to worry about them. Doesn't see the Barrett and the Drew. Uh, and that's a problem. Jason really has it out for Rick Devins. Uh, I saw that. I saw a post that Jason is saying that Rick Devins is stealing his jokes.

[01:16:35] I mean, I think, I think, uh, Jason is also just sort of like a fan's fan and he understands that, uh, Devins until Survivor 50 has kind of been a little bit on the, uh, the, the list of the fans for quite some time. So I think that he's, uh, just like really like locked in on that sentiment. Um, which, you know, I mean, it's interesting. I mean, it, it, it, it, it's, it certainly, I don't think it's a bad thing to be anti-vet.

[01:17:05] I mean, I think we see this time and time again where we want, we want the newbies. He's, and I say that, you know, with quotes with him, we want the newbies to, to rebel and not let them get, you know, let themselves get steamrolled. But I also think like you have to have a little bit more of an initiative because I feel like right now he's kind of just, I mean, you know, I'm kind of like in and out on it. Cause it seems like right now he's really just planting seeds and like letting people know, Hey, this is what's happening. It's not good.

[01:17:35] We should do something about it, but I don't really see anything really coalescing behind it. It just seems like he's just letting it be known. I think it'll be interesting to follow over the course of the summer. If the crossovers of, you know, vets, if they continue to prosper, at what point will the audience also, turn on them and it'll be interesting to see. Cause I really feel like that people will start to root for the people who it,

[01:18:05] Taryn it's big brother. People are going to want to see the power flip. Yeah. Eventually fans are fickle, fickle things. You know, we, we love, we love overturning the returning players and the vets. Unless we love the vets, then, then we don't want that to happen. And I mean, I guess, I don't know, like, you know, if, if Sari was in power the whole season, it would be like, Oh, this is great. Top 10. We love this.

[01:18:32] So I think, yeah, if you, if you, you like Angela and D and Rick, you're rooting for this. And I do think from a purely early game perspective, it is a smart thing for players. Wow. Especially the vets have power to want to be on their good side. But also every time we have any reality TV show or something like this happens, a lot of people are going to say, why is no one turning against the vets? Are they dumb? Don't they know they're not going to win? You need to get together and, you know, have them out.

[01:19:00] So yeah, we want some people to do that for sure. The best big brother is when the power shifts multiple times. See, I thought the person, sorry, go ahead, Taryn. I just, Rob, to your point, I think the world where this crossovers alliance starts to dominate is a world where it is possible that Rome and Lyric are the fan favorite showmance of the season. And I'm not getting. I could see it.

[01:19:30] I mean, they were in the, they were in the center of your graphic. So no, I'm sorry. I can never root for someone who turns their back on the competition in a cool gut. You didn't like that? No, it was the most uncool thing I've ever seen. To be fair, you do tell me that every time we end a podcast and I do the pose. I do. I say, Taryn, stop. The only people who are seeing this, he even does it when he's on a podcast by himself, which is wild. How do you know?

[01:20:00] Because I know. Not the tea. Taryn, could you give us a sneak preview about Barrett and Dee? That's what I was about to say. Yeah. So basically, right before the episode, Barrett and Dee were having a lengthy conversation in the HOH room. And honestly, like to me, the vibes were like a little awkward.

[01:20:27] They don't actually spend a lot of time together because they're doing well at like hiding their relationship. Um, and it felt like they were using a bit of like flirtiness to help break the awkwardness. Um, Dee is a generally flirty person. Uh, I think, uh, has been with, with multiple people in the house.

[01:20:48] Um, and, uh, Barrett, uh, as, uh, I guess this hasn't been said on a podcast, but Taylor, uh, talked to me on stream about her interviews and said that she was actually flirting with Barrett. Uh, mistakenly thinking that he was part of the alphabet mafia. Uh, and then, um, only realized afterward that he was not. Uh, and was like, oh, whoops.

[01:21:13] Um, and so, uh, so like I've, I've been thinking about like Barrett really comes into the Big Brother 28 house feeling real good about him. Like I was really crushing with Taylor there. Um, and, uh, and so, you know, he's going to have a lot of confidence. Yep. Um, and so it's very interesting. So hard to come out straight when you're flirting. That is crazy.

[01:21:37] It's very interesting to see that, uh, he has a crush on Dee because he was flirting with her a bit earlier today. Um, will that go anywhere? Who knows? But, uh, there was certainly something. Yeah. Yeah. I was going to say that, like, I thought if there was going to be any returnee besides, or not returnee, but anyone that's like a fan of the game. Um, that would be sort of like, okay, let's not let the vet steamroll.

[01:22:05] It might have, I mean, besides Jason, it would have been Barrett, but it does feel a little like she could have him wrapped around her face. RIP to this man. Like, I think he's about to get eight on up. Um, yeah. And like, yeah, I mean, hey, Barrett is very queer coded. Um, he is not queer. He is a straight man. Yeah. Who said in the chat, no, he's just from Austin.

[01:22:35] And I think that he, like, Taylor, that is so funny, Taylor. But I don't think that Taylor's the only one to have thought that because during the premiere episode, I caught that little interaction between him and Ashley. And I forget what the exact conversation was, but Ashley ended it with a, yes. I was like, oh, she thinks you're gay. You're not, but he's not.

[01:22:56] Jason literally was like, asked him because he had assumed and was like, oh, I was so surprised when he told me he wasn't part of the mafia. Yep. Yep. I mean, he just, you know, he's just, he's a straight man that is just not super bro-y. Uh, and, and, and that's fine. You know, I live for it. I, I kind of love that he has to like come out as straight. Welcome to the club. All right.

[01:23:26] Anything else? Uh, BB 28 here tonight. I'm, I'm, I'm having, yeah, I'm having a good time. Yeah, we're eating. This was, this is a good, this is a good first start. Yeah. Yeah. It's, it's, it's night and day from last season. Uh, you know, where like, if this was last season when, um, when Kamu said to D like, oh, I think you need to put up Barrett. She would have been like, I guess I have no choice. I guess I need to put up Barrett from my alliance.

[01:23:56] Uh, it's, it's genuinely like, it's refreshing to me. Briefly, at least, to, to see people actually play the game well. Now, will that get boring quickly? Slowly? I'm not sure. But, uh, it's, it's just like, okay, this, right, right. This game can be played well. Okay. All right. Uh, let's talk about what else is going on.

[01:24:23] We announced last week, RahapCon was happening and it's going to be in August 26th to the 28th in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We sent out the info to the patrons to save the date. BCC go to robinswebs.com slash VIP chat for all of that. All right, Mary, what else is going on for you?

[01:27:03] Um, I am over chatting with Matt Liguori about the show, the sweet life of Zach and Cody. Look, another interesting living situation with people in a cool house. Uh, so if anyone wants to, to relive some, some great millennial TV, then, uh, definitely go follow us over there and, or just follow me everywhere at frail Mary and you'll see where, where that is. Okay. That's some Cody Califuri. Yeah. Yeah. Those ones.

[01:27:32] Those, those, uh, Zach and Cody. My brother Cody. Yeah. All right. Amon, what's coming up for you? I'm also talking to Matt Liguori about, pardon me. I'm so sorry about, um, big brother players. We've been trying to find the best big brother player of all time, whittling all the North American players down. That's America, Canada, RHAP, celebrity, six players go into each episode. Only three will survive until we get down to just one.

[01:28:02] You can check us out at the diary room, wherever you get your podcasts. Everyone on this panel tonight has been on the show. So, so check us out. Yep. Okay. Taryn, I see people in the chat having a panic attack that we didn't have a graphic for the stock watch, but we confirm the stock watch is returning. It is tomorrow night. Uh, and I, I believe 6 PM Pacific, 9 PM Eastern.

[01:28:29] Uh, so, uh, tune in. We will do our first stock watch podcast of the season. Don't worry about it. We got it. Okay. Uh, Taryn, what else is going on? Who are you rooting for to, to, to win the season? Who am I rooting for?

[01:28:58] I gotta cover the chat before we talk about this. None of them. None of them. But if one of them has to at this point, uh, Brittany, Brittany is probably fine. Um, not gonna lie. Didn't know you could win Love Island. Yes. Uh, team anybody, but sincere. Get out of here. Yeah, he's got to go. The problem is I'm team anybody, but sincere.
