BB28 Sunday Nominations and Unlocked Ep Recap, Week 7

[00:00:08] Hello everyone and welcome to Rob Has A Podcast. I'm your host Taren Armstrong here tonight to recap this supersized episode of Big Brother Unlocked plus regular Big Brother. And listen, Rob's not here. And you know what? Maybe we dodged a bullet. Maybe we don't need Rob as the head of the podcast. Maybe it's okay.

[00:00:37] We'll find out. With me to talk through tonight's episode is Chappelle. How you doing, Chappelle? Taren, I'm good, but I'm a little confused. They told me we were talking about Big Brother Unlocked. You know that's my normal spot. I said, okay. And then Big Brother, it just didn't stop. There was more Big Brother and then it just kept coming. And then there was more and it was professional. And then we watched something twice and it happened again. And then there was competition. Taren, what? It's a Sunday night. I'm so tired. There's so much Big Brother.

[00:01:05] Yeah, they just did the thing where you miss an episode during the week and then you're like, oh, I've been meaning to watch that one. And then you realize right before the next one is about to air that you need to watch it. So you watch it right before. And that's basically what just happened tonight. But they made us do it. Mm-hmm. And I only planned on watching one of those. So we'll see how much attention I was paying throughout this entire two hours. Yes. All right. Well, also joining us. You're a bad bitch. It's Kirsten. How you doing, Kirsten?

[00:01:34] I'm just so happy to be here with two, you know, men of honor, real men, you know? Mm-hmm. Julius Caesar. I lied. Martin Luther King. He's looking down at me. Martin Luther King right now. He's shaking his finger at you, Kirsten. Like, stop that. Stop that. I didn't know Martin Luther King had a vested interest in Big Brother. Famously. Famously, he never would have lied about a vote.

[00:02:03] Yeah, this is crazy. Julius Caesar as well. So used to being stabbed in the back. This is right up his alley. Yeah. Yeah. I feel like Yash is, what is the, like, the Night King from The Lord of the Rings? Like, no man can beat me. Drew's like, I'm no man.

[00:02:35] All right. Well, we're here to talk through. So the first hour was Big Brother Unlocked with Danielle Reyes, with Paul, with Kamu. And then the second part of this episode was the HOH competition. We got the Big Brother bribe. We got the Never Not Pass.

[00:02:58] And then we got this nomination ceremony that ended on a cliffhanger. So we'll see how all of that goes. Let's talk first about some of this Big Brother Unlocked stuff. We got a little bit of the aftermath of the previous eviction. Nothing too major here beyond sort of seeing multiple scenes of Lala being quite sad about Kamu's eviction. Really brought me back to the days of Mama's Angels.

[00:03:28] And it's a reminder that, like, those angels have gone to heaven. Like, they're gone. You know what I mean? Oh my God! What happened? That's where angels be at. That's where they at. Oh my God! They passed on to another place in Hawaii. And so then she found a new crew. And now Kamu's gone too.

[00:03:54] And now Lala is back with really only Taylor left in the game. This first part of Unlocked I actually was kind of enjoying because it was basically just like, here's a handful of the clips that we have saved from the last, like, two weeks. Let's just air them and then have, like, Taylor and the crew react. Mm-hmm. Yeah.

[00:04:22] It felt like they had listened to your live feed updates and was like, we should probably talk about these things because they matter. And so we got, what, three missing moments? You know, I was more focused on the Lala and Haley missing moment because they really made it seem like it happened yesterday. And it was like, I feel like those two, that dissolved a long time ago, Kirsten. That was last Friday. Yeah. It was over one week ago, but I am very glad that they showed it.

[00:04:51] And I'm very glad that it was quite clear that Lala's not a bully. But listen, Haley hasn't been bullied in that house. But when she gets out, I'm not opposed to trying, you know? She's had a tough six, seven, eight weeks, nine, ten months. 29 years. It's her whole life. All her life she had to fight, okay? And she's still fighting. And, you know, this is her fight song, Kirsten. I've had enough of fight song.

[00:05:21] Well, just say it. She did through a lot. What else did we get from Unlocked? We got a D family visit. I am enjoying the family visits. I like that we're getting these from Unlocked. Chappelle, you've been talking a lot about Unlocked on the Unlocked podcast. What are your thoughts on the family visits? Do you like the family visits? We got to have them. You know, I think it was one of your takes from the first time we talked about Unlocked this season

[00:05:50] was that it's stuff that they used to just put in the episode that they've now taken from the episodes and worked them into a different episode that we now have to watch. But those are the things I remember fondly from Big Brother's past. Like, Big Brother has always kind of been a show that you watch it, then you can see the seams and the scars. And, you know, it looks a little like up close. It's like, like, but you step away from it and it's kind of cool, you know? And so the family visits will always something like, oh, yeah, it might be a little messy. We might go visit somebody's mom or dad, but we also might visit your ex.

[00:06:20] We might visit your estranged father. You know, we're going to do it all. And I like that. Now, they've been keeping it cute. You know, Christian Ubiquiti, the dad who stepped up, D's family here. You know, they're not doing anything too edgy, but I am enjoying seeing these people and the people who love them outside the house. If the next one isn't Melody's situationship, I'm rioting. It's not right. It's not right that we haven't got messy. Like, listen, last season, they had the opportunity to do the funniest thing ever.

[00:06:49] And they didn't. They never did. And they could do it this year. It won't be quite as funny as if they'd done it last year, but I would like to see it. I would like to see it. Don't y'all want good TV? Is that what you want? Yeah. Kirsten, you are our resident Love Island expert. What were your thoughts on the Rome Lyric reunion? It's so hard because they got out of the Big Brother house like five minutes ago,

[00:07:17] and they are going to be dead behind the eyes for at least six months. So it's just tough to really, you know, feel the full weight of their love for each other. I do think calling someone the love of your life that you met less than two months ago is crazy. But you know what? If they like it, I love it. Maybe they'll get married.

[00:07:39] I just thought it was funny that like most of that segment was like Rome walking in the airport and her driving. I was that. Did he take a mirror selfie in the bathroom on the plane? Was that? I think so. What was happening there? Because I'm not. Yeah. Listen. That's disgusting. And then she hugged him right after that.

[00:08:07] I, if I had to film my, if, if Big Brother was like, listen, we want to put a whole segment about you reuniting with Lyric. We want you to document your trip to go see her. And then I had to film myself in an airport on an airplane talking about how I was going to see, reunite with the love of my life that I met on Big Brother. I probably also would not do it in the seat. You are making a big mistake, Taryn. You are pretending these are normal people.

[00:08:37] This is the type of content they would have been making before Big Brother without Big Brother. This is probably how they were found to be on Big Brother. I'm surprised he wasn't in there going, one day my future daughter is going to bring home someone. They're going to hate when I say this. This is a man that named himself Rome. His name is Jack, right? Well, I mean, he was lucky. Didn't he name himself Rome because of bullies? Is that real or did I make that up? That is actually, that is true. Yes.

[00:09:07] He was bullied on, on, on Xbox Live by friends. And if true, that's something that shouldn't have been able to be waterboarded out of him. And yet he freely admitted it. So. You know what? Power to Rome. He took back his power. This is his fight song. Julius Caesar would be proud. Oh my God. Stand up. I, okay. But honestly, one of the craziest parts of that too. I know. I'm sorry. We're spending way too much time talking about this lyric in Rome.

[00:09:36] Um, tick tocks why they had to set up a camera inside the car to get the little artsy shot through the back window, the rear window. Plus they had like someone else taking another, like this is potentially like a two to three tripod situation at the end. You hate art. You hate love and you hate art. Look at you just tearing these people apart. They need to document this. They need to document this. What else are we going to do? If we don't have the update about what America's favorite couple is up to.

[00:10:06] Well, did you guys see why? No, Terry Chappelle. Did you see, um, lyric got a gift in the mail from Rome. That was essentially like a PR package. Oh no. What, what, what do you mean? Go on. So this is obviously she, it was like the day she got home from big brother and she was like, and here's a text Rome sent me. And she had the screen on the screen. You could read the whole text. It was, it was crazy. You should read it on the slop, even though it's a little out of date now. And then she's like, and I've got a gift.

[00:10:35] And it's like, Oh my God, an aloe yoga set with the matching hat. Oh. And these cosmetics that it literally looks like he was writing. He got home and he started writing brands. I'm in the love of my life in the big brother house. Will you please send me some free stuff so that I can make her feel special? Like everyone planning their bachelorette trips is doing, but he, you know, he got the stuff. And so she's like doing an unboxing of a gift.

[00:11:02] Listen, get to work, get the bag. I'm down. Alone in the chat asks, how do I know Taryn hasn't seen this? Because Taryn is offline. Taryn is normal. Aside from being attacked by that, the man is healthy. That's the only thing to say about me considering my job, but. But the thing is, is like other than the live feeds, you are not online. It's the only thing you do. He's also Batman, but you know, that's also, that's another type of his mental health that we don't have to get into.

[00:11:31] Oh my God. Well, Chappelle, there's a question I wanted to ask you. Oh no. You roll. Oh my God. I'm so glad you asked me. Okay. I have a white belt and I've been training for this. Let me lay on the ground so you can get on top of me. I mean, all I'm going to say is a couple of days from now, we're both going to be in Milwaukee. If you want to get rolling.

[00:12:01] If you want to do a little roll. Yeah. I'm not coming Taryn. I was coming until now. Now I'm like, sorry. Taryn, it sounded great until you said it like that. Now, y'all have fun in the rehab condo. But no, but why did he lay down? Is that like a normal thing to do? Roll me. Like it's not what you're saying. Like I don't know what's normal. Roll me. Come on. But did you notice Chappelle how casually he took off his Rolex and said, oh, Taylor can hold my rollie. Matt Hartman could never.

[00:12:31] He could have said watch, but he had to let you know. So he broke shit here. It's my rollie. I thought he was gifting it for a moment. I was. Kamu, I love you so much, brother. Here's my rollie. It's like, no. I thought you meant to Taylor. Taylor should get to keep that Rolex. I mean, we're just handing out Rolexes. Then, yeah, I'll take one, too. But I'm not going to lay on the ground so somebody can put me in an armbar. You know, what are we doing?

[00:13:00] But like, seriously, like I didn't grow up around boys. Is that what y'all are doing? We're rolling, baby. I don't know what a reputation to uphold. They'd be rolling. Well, no, this is this. I asked my chat. I was like, is that is this like the thing? Like you call it rolling? Apparently it is. It's a very specific thing that like like some some kinds of fighters do. And I know all about that being a manly man myself. Man, man, man, man. You smell that testosterone. Abraham Lincoln.

[00:13:30] Julius Caesar. Yes. They all roll. I just like that he just like laid down. I thought they were going to wrestle, you know, like I thought, OK, at one point I'm going to try to roll you and you're going to try to roll me. And Jerry was kind of like, take me. Oh, OK. That works, too, I guess. For a second, I thought, like, did he fall? Does he need help up? Like, was this intentional? And I was like, oh, no, he was he was always meant to just lay down.

[00:13:57] I would assume I would assume that the idea would be I know I'm going to get put on my back anyway. Let me do it myself so I don't get like slammed on my back. That would be my assumption there. But who knows? He initiated this, though. Like he didn't have to do this. He said, I don't even know if Kamu knew this was coming. He's like, hey, you guess what? I've been training. Roll me up. He's like, oh, well, I don't need to take my Rolex here, Taylor. I was like, oh, like he didn't have a choice at some point. I don't know.

[00:14:27] Jerry's kind of freaky. I don't know. I ain't like it. Jerry is on one like. He's still out here defending thog. It felt like it felt like he abandoned his posts on the unlocked like a little bit, but still he was like, oh, tough for my girl. Like she's still my girl. And it's like. Cut to dead weight, Jerry. Come on.

[00:14:52] It's it's really hard to defend a take like that with Danielle Reyes staring at you and being like, yeah, tell me more about whatever you want, babe. So you got it. I don't care. Like dog who? I would have thrown her under the bus so quickly. Yeah. This was tough to watch. I mean, Taylor's looking at him. Danielle's there. You got you still going to try to force this thought thing. I don't want to have to throw the devil word devil word around, Jerry. Mm hmm. Yeah. Speaking of. That's actually triggering for me.

[00:15:22] There was not enough Danielle Reyes in this unlocked episode for my taste. No, we needed more. Why? Like she's there. Use her like pick her. Choose her. Love her. Let her talk. Let her host. Give her Jerry's job and Rolex. Like she was so everything she had to say was so good. Like even when they, you know, give the badass and the dumbass of the week or which I don't know. Where do you vote for that? I don't even know. It's on Instagram.

[00:15:53] OK. Like, I feel like normally people are just like, oh, Devin's is the badass of the week. Everyone's like, ah, yeah. And then it's like, whoever is the dumbass. It's like, yeah. But this week they voted Yash for dumbass. And Danielle was like, no. This cannot stand. He is not a dumbass. And that is the energy we need. Now, I had a little bit of pushback because I get it. He is not the dumbass of the week.

[00:16:20] But Yash, you don't want your ally to go home and you have the veto. So there's one thing that you could do to make sure that doesn't happen. And you could have did it. But you didn't do it. And so for that, maybe not the dumbass, but dumbass adjacent. At least a dumbass. A dumbass. Right. You know what I'm saying?

[00:16:48] Look, worse things have happened. But I'm just saying you're shocked. But you could have fixed this. It was easily preventable. The thing is, is like, I don't think he got voted as the dumbass because he nominated Haley and didn't take her off the block with the veto. So I'm just like, well, he got voted as the dumbass of the week under false pretenses. And if they were doing it, like if the people voting were getting it right, I could understand it a little bit more. But I know that's not why they were doing it. And that just grinds my gears.

[00:17:17] He got voted the dumbass because dumbass, you should have been voted by us. You should have been more likable. And then you could have been on the show more. I don't care about America right now. Oh, my God. I know who's not getting my vote. We can't vote for her. Don't play that in front of me. I have to go through customs in a couple of days. Hold you accountable.

[00:17:47] We also saw the building of Otev in this in Unlocked, which I thought this was fun. I like this. Yeah, I was going to ask your opinion about this, Taryn. As someone who's written the book on Big Brother, I mean, like, is Unlocked teaching you a little bit more about how things work behind the scenes? Because you've been to the house, but I don't know if you've ever seen this part. I have. Yeah. So, I mean, when you go in, or at least when I went in, you know, you're walking sort of behind. Because they showed it, too. There's like an entrance at the back of the backyard.

[00:18:16] That is the entrance I came into. And as you're walking through there, there was, at least, like, a warehouse-y, like, the storage room full of just, like, animatronics. It's, like, stored, like, set pieces from competitions. Past Otevs. Yeah. Maybe not fully that. But, like, yeah, there's, like, a bunch of stuff there. And there's, like, stuff outside.

[00:18:42] So, like, so, yeah, it's just, it's very cool to see, like, all of what goes into it. Like, this is what they're often hearing from inside the house, but they never get to see. And, like, all of the work that goes into it. And obviously, we see it. But, like, it really helps you visualize and sort of conceptualize how much work is going into this every single week.

[00:19:07] And it does make you, like, realize a little, because I'm always like, listen, why are these competitions so long on the episodes? They're two full segments. They're so long. It's like, well, Taryn, do you know how much work we put into that set? We're going to milk every single ounce of it. I don't care if it's bad television. You're going to see it. You're going to see every nook and cranny. You're going to see every drop of slime, Taryn.

[00:19:34] And so, you know, maybe we get that part a little bit more. Although I still don't want to see two segments for a competition. Can we talk about one thing that was wrong that we saw about this, though? What's up? All of it? I didn't like seeing the B-list movie Blob so naked. Like, that felt, you know, personal for the Blob. And I felt like I shouldn't have been seeing that. Right. Trigger warning. Oh. Oh, see? Look at what happened to Taryn. Oh, my God.

[00:20:04] Camera just overheated. It's so, it's very, it's quite hot here in San Diego. That's that testosterone coming off of you. We was rolling, baby. Kirsten, if Big Brother was going to auction off some of this old stuff, because they have it, right? Like, there's no way they just, like, burn the Otev stuff every season. Like, just set it aflame. Like, could we buy this kind of stuff? Like, could I have a piece of, I think they're missing out on money there. Because people buy Survivor shit all the time. I'd be like, I'd buy a little piece of the HOH competition.

[00:20:33] Tiny Vito. Something like that. They could do that. They could do, like, the charity auction, like Survivor does. And kind of, you know, try to improve the show's footprint on the world and how it moves forward. But I would also bet that, like, a lot of that stuff gets used for multiple things. Like, I really do think that it's like, well, that, like, slime tube, that's, they don't have multiple of that. That's, like, the one slime tube thing.

[00:21:01] And they might reuse, like, a lot of the rebar and stuff. Actually, I don't know how safe it is to reuse that stuff. I'm not an engineer, a set constructor, or anything of the sort. So, I don't know. But I think people would probably get it. Yeah. I wouldn't. Certain things, right? Because I remember when they first dropped that Wrestlegasm, like, I was like, oh, that's nice. You know, and then they put it on the shop. And I was like, oh, that's pricey. So, yeah. Same with the Janky World merch. It was so cute.

[00:21:30] And then I was like, I don't have money for that. Or, like, I don't have that much money for that specifically. Mm-hmm. Get it. All right. Turns out I don't know about you. I bought it all. I'm rich. Anything else from Unlocked before we get to the episode proper here? I mean, Paul was there. That's always fun. Paul was there. I thought bringing in Paul in a season where, you know, people who might have been beloved the first time or the second time they play the game came back in to play Big Brother again.

[00:21:59] And maybe it's not going so well with the general audience. I thought if anybody's going to speak to that, it's Paul. He didn't really speak about it too much. But it was good to have him there as, I guess, the second best player to never win because let's not get it twisted. Danielle's right there. The compare... Comparing Paul to Daniel Reyes in Daniel Reyes's face was a little bit crazy from... I'm sorry.

[00:22:26] I don't generally like to speak out of Taylor Hale, but that was crazy talk. No. If any three people are going to defend Daniel Reyes, I knew it was going to be this panel. The thing I was most disappointed by was that when Paul went into the house, Paul did not say, I just want to congratulate all of you for making it to the final 11 of Big Brother. A huge accomplishment in this game. Ain't it? Ain't it?

[00:22:54] Paul was wearing the shirt, though. The infamous Hawaiian shirt. The sleeves cut off, which was, you know, a new fresh twist on it. But that shirt hasn't really been good. You gotta get right back on the bike, you know? You just gotta put the shirt right back on. You'll never wear it. But being able to put a shirt on that you lost a reality TV in 10 something years ago, I mean, that's a pretty big deal, right?

[00:23:23] How long has it been since Paul played? 10 years. Since 18. You're pulling out the shirt again? Okay, more power to you, baby. I ain't wearing no shirts from back then. You don't have anything from nine years ago? Not that I should wear outside. Fair. I got a little... To be fair, that shirt wasn't really in a condition to be worn outside. Yeah. Yeah. All right, let's talk about this episode then.

[00:23:51] We start the episode with more of the fallout from Kamu's eviction. And really kicking off what I thought was a very good episode for Yash, especially having just been voted the BB dumbass. Yash crushing it in the diary room, starting off with this line. Whatever Daddy Devin says, baby boy Drew follows. The kid has no spine. Great episode for Yash.

[00:24:18] Awful episode for Drew. I mean, dear God. Like, Yash is on his neck the entire time by the end of the episode. Like, he's got him cornered. You get a lot of Drew in the headlights in this episode. And Yash is just giving it to him left and right in the diary room. Great episode for Yash. Yash said in the diary room, like, I am lying about Drew right now. Drew, you're gonna... I assume die is what he said. Drew, you're gonna die, I think.

[00:24:47] But I mean, it was bleeped. It was bleeped. So I couldn't tell. Yeah. He said multiple times that Drew just does whatever Daddy Devin says. And I was like, Yash, have you been listening in on Devin's workouts? Daddy wants the dub. Wrap it up. We don't do that here. Heavens. Devin's, please. Yeah, this is a lot. Daddy Devin's is still something that I just don't feel comfortable saying. Like, I get it.

[00:25:17] I've seen it online. I've seen it now. I've heard Yash say it out loud. It's a little freaky. Again, freaky, freaky frogs, all of you. Do not count me in that. So, yes. Go ahead. I don't remember what I was gonna say. Never mind, ignore me. Vergiss es.

[00:26:15] And I've got to say, this is, in my opinion, this is almost the equivalent of the one round Otev. This was a really poor showing for this cast. That, like, half of them were, like, walking on the balance beam. D, one of the few people to actually run, but takes a terribly inefficient path.

[00:26:41] And then half of them, a third half of them, throwing the competition. Mallory, who says after the competition, in the episode, she's like, ah, maybe I dodged a bullet. Maybe I didn't want to win too much. Full on set on the feeds. Oh, yeah. I wanted to see if I could beat D, and I could, and I chose not to.

[00:27:03] Uh, Barrett, who very, very obviously threw it. Uh, and Melody, who didn't seem like she could have won it if she tried, but also threw it. Um, and it's, it's just like, what is wrong with these people? I, Barrett could have crossed each segment of that with two steps.

[00:27:31] Like, it was literally so short in comparison to his giant long limbs. But you know what? At least he didn't lie to us. Mallory's like, oh, maybe I dodged a bullet. No, you threw it. Tell us the truth. Stop lying to us. At least Barrett told us the truth. He shouldn't have done that. He should have won. But at least he didn't lie to me. I don't know. Cause I'll take the lie over Melody being like, you know what? I don't want to show my cards. What? What? Lady, go win that damn challenge.

[00:28:01] You ain't won shit all season. Are you okay? Are you okay? Yeah. I'm not okay. I don't want to show my cards because I don't have any. There's nothing to show. It's just like, cause I've, I've heard, I've heard the defense for Barrett when things don't go his way. Uh, in this very episode when he's being told, Hey, sorry, drew my go on the block. And he's like, Oh, I don't like this.

[00:28:28] Unfortunately, there's nothing I can do about it because D's HOH. Hey Barrett, guess when you could have done something about it. You could have done something about it. Maybe when HOH, maybe when HOH. And that's what you could have done about it. Maybe instead of being like, here you go, D, D, would you like this? And then when she takes it and says, great, thank you. Now I'm going to do something with this and go, what? Oh, well, I guess that's just how it is.

[00:28:58] Then can't do anything about it. Look for Barrett. He knows D isn't going to put him up. And I guess Melody and Mallory feel the exact same way. There's nothing to worry about here. If D wins, it's just like a win for them. There is no way they possibly see the block. Not going to happen. Not on D's watch. Nope. They can throw this challenge. It's fine. Right? Did you fire Barrett as your client, Chabelle? I thought he was your client. I can't.

[00:29:27] He is, but you know, it's like, you don't got to be proud of your client. You just got to represent them. You know what I'm saying? Like, I'm like representing him over here. He's like, Barrett, let me hold your hand. But I'm putting a little piece of paper between it just so it don't rub off on me right now. But no, you know what? I'm still supportive of him as a human. But his game moves are just a little questionable. Or like you said, if you're going to lean into that, if that's what you want to do, stand by it. Don't moments later, we have to watch the episode and be like, what happened? Oh my God, I should have won. Yeah, you should have won, Barrett.

[00:29:56] Oh, Barrett. Yeah. I still have faith. I don't know. I still have faith in him. I'm there. I'm here. I'm just like I said, like, I'm holding a hand like this. Like, you know what I'm saying? Yeah, you're holding this hand with the tissue in between. I know. Right, exactly. Just a little bit. And it's just like with Melody and Mallory, like they've spent the entire season on the bottom, hungry for power, hungry for power. Hungry for power, desperate for any crumb of something to hold on to in the game.

[00:30:26] And the second they get a literal crumb that they know they can't trust, they go, all right, that's enough. I couldn't. I couldn't. I couldn't want more. I couldn't. More would be dangerous. I'm playing a social game. I mean, honestly, based on how dumbass these people are acting, maybe they shouldn't have power. You know what? No, because from week one, we've.

[00:30:55] And yeah, I'll say it. I'll stand here and say it. Y'all know me and the flop queen. We haven't really got together. Pipe queen, me and her. We just haven't really seen eye to eye because what I saw was someone saying, when I get a chance, I'm going to take these people down. She was in the diary room talking hot shit every week. It's like, I'm going to do this. We should have did this. I can't wait to flip the house. We're going to get these people. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And then you have an opportunity to literally do something to guarantee that you won't go on the block,

Don't lie to us. Another big thing to talk about here. D, as the HOH winner, of course, with what I thought was a not great time. But still the HOH winner. Celebrates with that. Oh, my God.

[00:32:15] This is incredible for us because we won HOH, which is a very good thing to have happen. Because not only do we get to take somebody out of the game, but we also get to choose our allies and solidify our relationships. That's so good for us. It's something that the vets have recognized in the game because, well, they were handed a lot of power. And then they recognized how powerful power is.

[00:32:44] And so they are initially interested in solidifying with Mosh Pit. But very quickly, D recognizes that her power might be good for more than just, please don't put me on the block, sir HOH. And famously, this is an idea that we had been kind of discussing around the same time D came up with it as though she were listening.

[00:33:12] She wants to approach Yash with the deal that he cannot nominate herself, Devin's or Angela the next time he wins HOH. If he accepts the bribe, it is a binding contract. And this is explained to us thoroughly in the diary room that he cannot actually do it. He is bound by that contract. She also handshake deals that she will keep him safe this week.

[00:33:39] She is not bound by that as a contract because it is outside of the actual power of the power. Now, we knew this happened on the feeds. And I was very curious myself to know what the exact wording of this deal was. Because this is very much like a devil's contract, right? Like you sign your soul away and it enforced one side. And as we all know, a devil's contract is all about the wording.

[00:34:08] And I will tell you, my first thought when I saw this scene play out, because this was hidden from us on the feeds, is that the wording was that Yash has to keep the three of them safe on his HOH. Keep them safe. Safe from what? Safe? Keep them safe. Safe. Famously, Mike Boogie kept Cheryl safe. Best he could. Did everything he could. Best he could.

[00:34:37] He kept her safe by nominating her next to Nicole. Obvious evictee. He campaigned for Cheryl to stay all week. He worked very hard to keep Cheryl safe. He worked harder to keep Cheryl safe than almost anybody else in that house. Right? Yash can work to keep somebody safe while they're on the block. While putting them in harm's way.

[00:35:00] But I do wonder, like, was there, like, a lengthy scene of, like, all of the actual, like, what it means being worked out? That's the less fun part. They're just obviously not going to show us because, like, why? Only freaks like us would want to see, like, the fine print of what's going through that. That's when we need Melissa to read that over as a lawyer. You are speaking reality, and I am not ready for reality yet.

[00:35:27] Right now what I'm ready for is get me Ashley on the phone. Get me Xavier on the phone. Hey, Rome, help us out. Hook us up with Lyric. We need some lawyers on this case. Is this wording binding? Because keep me safe feels a little vague to me if we're devil's contracting. That's all I'm saying. It could have legal ramifications. And maybe there's something else with, like, that last part of it. Like, if it mathematically makes sense.

We kind of do, like, a little, what is this, a six-finger plan or whatever they call it. You know? Okay. We stack the block. We put everybody up there. We all try to win this thing, try to keep one person from winning it. Oh, look. It happens to be an icon. You're the only one we can put up there. Oopsie. I guess you've gone up as a replacement nominee on my HOH. Mathematically, I had no other choice.

[00:36:26] It's like, oh, you couldn't have just put up two? No, no, no. I just ran out of options here. So maybe there's something that we can work around with that. Because it's not like he can keep this thing into the final four. You know? He's going to have to use it before then. Just because mathematically, with the battle of the block, the BB blockbuster, there's just so many nominees every week. Yeah. And to Kirsten's point, I think the fact that Dee mentioned, as long as it's mathematically possible,

[00:36:53] it makes it very clear that this was a deeper negotiation with production involved. Because there's zero chance that Dee would have said that on her own as part of the stipulation. Very clearly, they discussed the details. And the details clearly must be that if Yash has no other choice, he can still nominate one of these three vets. My question would still be, there's two outstanding questions for me,

[00:37:21] even with the mathematically thing sort of answering at least one of the questions. I still have two more. One is, we talked about this this morning, what if Yash wins a veto himself and uses the veto to make it mathematically impossible to not nominate one of them? Because the bribe only works for one action. It should not theoretically cover the veto usage. So he should be able to use the veto and then due to his own veto action,

[00:37:51] which is a separate action from nominations, then be forced mathematically to nominate one of the vets. I don't know if that's on the table. And then the other thing, the curse angle. If you destroy the D... I did not mean it to be that way. If you destroy the head of the vampire enclave,

[00:38:21] do you cure the rest of their cohort of vampirism? Do you eliminate the curse? If D is evicted, is this contract null and void? Can Yash go after Devin or Angela? That is still unclear to me as well. I have to imagine in that case, he would be able to. I would hope so. But I might just be... Do I get my $5,000 back?

[00:38:49] Yeah, but do I get my $5,000 back? If we destroying the... If I'm the vampire and I got to go, give me my coin back. No, you're dead. You can't have it. It's no longer enforceable. Yash keeps the vampire's gold. Yeah. This is obviously a very clever usage of D's power, which was otherwise seemingly not very powerful. But if you use it from a position... And this is pretty much true of many of the Big Brother powers.

[00:39:17] If you use it in a position where you need the power because you're in the minority and you're in trouble, it's not that great. If you use the position... If you use the power when you're already in a position of power to further consolidate your power, it's phenomenal. And this is exactly what this power now does. It completely stops Yash from being able to target the vets. And Yash is the biggest threat to the vets at this point. So this is a huge, huge win for them. What I thought was interesting is that

[00:39:47] despite that kind of being the case, the segment still kind of comes across like Yash got one over on them because, well, number one, he's just doing well in the diary room. And number two, because D falls for his lies. He's like, in addition to this, he's like, I'm going to talk about Drew and Barrett and how they were the ones leading the charge against the icons. And it's like, yeah, Drew and Barrett are the ones doing it. And then he's in the diary room like, yeah, I lied. I lied.

[00:40:17] I love that. Tell us when you lie. Don't lie to us. We want... This is what we want. This is the exact type of characters we want on this show. People who are going to lie for their game in ways that improve their position. They're believable when they lie, so it actually works. And then they get to come into the diary room and laugh at the people who believed their lies with us, making us part of the deceit in a very fun way.

[00:40:48] Yeah. He's evolved into like a good Big Brother character. Because I think at first, Yash was still trying to find his footing. Game-wise, you know, he could have easily gone out week one. But that's not something we've never seen before in Big Brother, where somebody who's supposed to go home first eventually kind of gets their feet underneath them and they start to learn the game. But learning the diary room is impressive, you know, because there are people who've played tons of days of Big Brother and I'm still like, eh, I don't need it. But Yash, he's really delivering right now. And so more Yash, please. More Yash content.

[00:41:16] It seems like they're not forcing the yelling this year, which is very nice. Yes, I agree. I think Yash has been really good in the diary room. And Dee falls for his lies, hook, line, and sinker. She fully is now on board with the idea of potentially targeting Drew. Despite all of the work that he put in for the vets the previous week, she believes that he has been working against them.

[00:41:43] And so she sets up a trap for Drew that he falls into. He uses the excuse, basically what happened here, if it was unclear in the episode, there was a disagreement between what Yash was saying about his first night as HOH and what Drew was saying about it. The ultimate thing came down to that Drew had said Yash was initially targeting Angela, which is true. And then when Yash was in the room, Yash was claiming he was always trying to target Haley.

[00:42:13] And Drew did not want to contradict Yash in front of the whole group. And so backpedaled and said, I didn't say he was targeting Angela. I said he just wanted Angela on the block and refused to contradict Yash and say, no, you were actually targeting Angela. Because of this, Drew came across like a liar, even though he was telling the truth because he was actually lying about having told the truth, essentially. And really the whole point was to trap him

[00:42:41] into just doing something to use as an excuse to put him on the block, which he fell firmly into. And then this was used as the excuse to then nominate him. Can I just say the absolute irony of all of this, starting with Yash being like, Drew's a liar. He's not a man of honor. Like basically implying that Drew's not a real man because he lied. Kind of crazy.

[00:43:10] To then, I lied. Drew's gonna die. Well, okay. Yeah. It's like once Drew opened up the lying Pandora's box, you know, Yash just like climbed in the box and was like, oh, well, I guess that's what we're doing now. That's the game we're playing now. Yash has also been lying earlier in the season as well. But when Drew lies, it's dishonorable. You know what I'm saying? Like for Yash, like, all right. Martin Luther King is frowning up on Drew's lies,

[00:43:40] but he's nodding along with Yash. I was gonna say, oh, so it's Drew's fault too, even though y'all shouldn't have done it. The episode itself kind of yada yada's Drew's time capsule win because it is ultimately completely meaningless that he gets the time capsule power

[00:44:06] of being a never not, the never not pass. It's so weird. I thought it was a never nude pass and Rick Devins already had it, but. He'll need to pass for that. He's born like this baby, fully clothed. Or dozens of them. And basically on the feeds, he was like, yeah, I was like really playing up how great a power this was, like in a sarcastic way.

[00:44:37] And then in the episode, they only play the parts that seem like he really is excited about the power and leave out any hint of sarcasm that they can. That is a lie because it sounded so sarcastic to me. I had no clue. I didn't, you know, I don't watch the feeds as closely as our lovely updaters. So I didn't know that. But when watching him, I was like, oh, he doesn't even believe this. He's like staring at the camera. Thank you, big brother. Thank you, America. I'm so happy. I was like, this man is not happy. This man is not happy. But I will give him credit.

[00:45:06] He tried to spin it into something. He goes, D, I got a power. That means you can trust me because everybody we're working with has power. So that means that I'm good. Like that absolves me. D said, I don't care about America. So I don't care about America right now. He was not ready for that. That's not how it played out in his head. Yeah, Rob. And it's not how, it shouldn't have played out like that. Like, I don't think it necessarily would follow that because America voted for me. I am trustworthy.

[00:45:36] But I would think that it would, it would at least maybe make someone think, well, I'm probably on the right track working with the people that America likes, which like Devin's was thinking last week. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I think it's, it's not a bad argument. It's just that, you know, D had her own thoughts at that point. Uh, so. Can he gift it, Taryn? Can he give it to D? That's a good question. Um, I don't know.

[00:46:07] Cause I feel like if you really wanted to do something, you'd be like, hey, I got this. And to show you how much I, you know, whatever, here you go. I'll still tell everybody I have it, but it can be yours. You know, do like do an act to show that you are trustworthy. Don't just be like, hey, I got some votes. So you gotta trust me now. Like, I just felt like that, this kind of hollow, right? I don't know if you can give it away, but I would have tried. I'm not even aware of the alternate universe where D uses her bribe to buy the Never Knot.

[00:46:35] For $5,000, I refuse to eat slop again. That's so real. Would that even work on a survivor player though? Who are like very used to the idea of like giving away advantage or giving away, uh, rewards and stuff. Oh, geez. I don't know. The thing with D too is like, D is like, I can sleep in the dirt. I don't need, I don't need, I think so. Like, I think that she's fine with being in a Have Knot room where it's like a spinny wheel bed. Like, it's not like she's got the punishment

[00:47:03] of Roman Lyric bumping and grinding on there anymore. You know what? Honestly, if they were still in the house, I would have given $5,000 to have that Never Knot pass because there is no way I would sleep in there. There's just no way. Hasn't Drew been sleeping in there even when he's not a Have Knot? He has. Yeah. Yeah. Extra dumb. What's wrong with that boy? So, right. D wants to nominate Drew and she has to talk to Barrett first.

[00:47:33] Uh, this is obviously going to be a pretty hard conversation because Barrett has a final two with Drew. He's in a final four with Drew with the FAP Alliance. Uh, it's very, very bad for Barrett's game to leave Yash in the game and Haley and for Drew to be potentially targeted. Um, and luckily for him, D is going to consult him about it and he, he's going to be in the room. And Barrett was in the room. In the room. He's always in the room.

[00:48:03] And so, uh, so D is going to go through with it. This is crazy. This is crazy. Barrett, my, my client, what he's like, he's telling us, Hey, Drew is really trustworthy and they don't trust him. So I guess this is, you know, I guess I'm losing this fight. Like fight harder, fight harder. This has been your number one since week one, you know, all these other alliances, they're fine, but Drew and Barrett have never not been a pair. So I just feel like at this point, at this point,

[00:48:33] you should be able to put your foot down and say, if I'm bringing anything to this partnership, D, if I have any say, so you will keep my number one off the block. And yet here we are. The thing is, with D, I feel like if he had said that, she might've turned on him and put Barrett up on the block. Like I really could see it. She'd be doing shit. You're right. I don't know. Here's an idea. Don't throw the HOH to her. Boom. Well, yeah, we all agree. Don't throw the HOH,

[00:49:03] but unfortunately that's what happened. So now we have to live with the results. Unless you want to go to the Big Brother dining table time machine and we could go back a few days and maybe we could fix this, but I don't think that production would do that. Yeah. Cause it's not like Barrett's talking to Drew last night about they should both throw the next HOH too. That's definitely not also happening. And you know what? I'm choosing. Um, and, uh, and then things start to pop off a little bit and we get it to be continued. We obviously did not see this altercation play out on the live feed. So we are still kind of waiting on the details. Uh,

[00:50:00] we have an idea of how it went down and what the results were. We'll talk about those very shortly in the spoiler section. Um, but, uh, but for now that is how we leave the episode off. Yeah. Uh, we didn't get a lot of what I would say is like great Taylor and Lala content, but whenever they're on screen together, I love it. I do like that. We saw even in unlocked, we saw Taylor's kind of point of view from there. Uh, you know, the very heated exchange that, uh, her and Yash had with Lala. Um, because I know it was very up online.

[00:50:30] People were like, Oh no, you know, Taylor and Yaya, Lala, they're beefing. Right. Like, but now here we are. And we see her in the confessional in the diary room saying like that really hurt her. She didn't want to have to talk to Lala like that, but she knows that these rookie mistakes are going to get y'all in trouble in the game. You know, we saw that with Angela and the mosh pit. She's like, Oh, clearly you already know we're all working together. No, they didn't know that. Why would you say that? And so they're just trying to tighten the ranks a little bit. And so it does suck to see them both on the block, knowing exactly how things are going for them on the block. Um, you know,

[00:50:59] being ostracized and all those other things. And so I was, I was really hoping that, uh, you know, maybe we did see drew on the block because that could add a little intrigue to this week for sure. Yeah. [00:51:54] and he fully calls out everything that Yash and Taylor and Lala had been saying. We saw a little bit of this in the episode. Again, we don't really know exactly how it went down. We'll hopefully see more of it in a Wednesday night's episode. Um, but by publicly calling all of them out, he finally proves his worth, his value, a.k.a. his willingness to go off on the enemies of the vets and burn those, uh,

[00:52:23] connections as much as possible to the vets who now no longer want to target him. Uh, this, uh, leads to a veto competition where Lala wins the power of veto by showcasing her ability to maneuver her tongue and thrust her hips. Very well. She's a freak. Freaky, freak, freak, freak, freak, freak.

[00:52:53] Like compliment, like there's freak derogatory and there's freak complimentary. This is freak complimentary. It is the big brother 14 coaches competition. Uh, if you recall that one, um, Lala wins the veto and Devins comes up with the idea that they should backdoor Mallory, you know, the person who just threw the HOH competition, uh, uh, and the other, you know,

[00:53:22] closest ally to Barrett, the other guy who threw that HOH competition. Um, so D has come up with the idea to tell both drew and Barrett that she did offer Yash a bribe. That's why she's not going to put him on the block. She's only saying that she, uh, is keeping herself safe from Yash, not including Devins and Angela. Um, now, uh,

[00:53:51] theoretically this could be something that falls under the idea of that you can't lie about a power, but she's not saying she didn't make a deal for the Devins and Angela. She's just saying that she did make a deal to keep herself safe, which is technically true. Um, so, uh, so she's telling that to drew and Barrett and telling them that she's going to put up Mallory. They are not happy about this,

[00:54:17] but drew is on the block and does his best to argue against it while saying, I hope I have the votes. Barrett who is not on the block, uh, uh, is also in the room. Um, and, uh, but privately they complain about this. Drew thinks it's time to turn on the vets as early as next week, but Oh, Devins was listening and he didn't really hear exactly what they were saying, but he heard enough to know that they were being sketchy.

[00:54:47] So he bluffs them by acting really mad because he overheard their conversation. They then have to panic and pretend like they were only a little bit talking, uh, treason. And seemingly that's been somewhat smooth though, that this is all happening while the episode is on tonight. Uh, the plan is still in place to put up a Mallory, Mallory replacing Lala as the primary target. Um, and since the, uh,

[00:55:17] during the episode and during like this podcast, Mallory has now also been told that she is going up on the block. She's been crying. Melody is pissed. Uh, and this is apparently the state of things. Mallory, the primary target, if she does not win the blockbuster, she goes home. Barrett is okay with this and willing to vote Mallory out over Drew. Uh, Barrett and Drew do not know that Mallory is the primary target. They still think that if Taylor is on the block, Taylor will go home.

[00:55:46] That is not true from the vet side. And they will have the numbers to do that if they want. Uh, and then if it's Mallory versus Drew, Mallory would still leave. Drew, uh, Barrett has agreed to that as well, that he will vote to keep Drew over Mallory. So, uh, that is where we are at on feeds. Mallory's crying to Angela, just like Angela cries to everyone. And. Yeah.

[00:56:16] Yeah. But this, this, this, you know, these tears fall on deaf ears for me. Okay. Uh, like, I'm sorry. I just, I can't, I can't hear you lady. Cause you had all the opportunity in the world to prevent this. And you told us several times throughout this season that you would be the one. I remember when Lala won, uh, the wall competition. The first thing I saw Mallory and, um, and Melody talking in the storage unit, uh, storage room, uh, Mallory says, Oh yeah. If Lala doesn't flip the house, like fuck her. Oh, because you've done so much to,

[00:56:46] to flip the power in your, in your, in your favor. Let's okay. Let's see what happens when you win power. Oh yeah. It won't happen because you're throwing competitions. And then when you need to win, you're not able to do that. Maybe she's able to win the blockbuster here and save herself, but she made her bed. And as much trash, she'd been talking, uh, it's time to put up or shut up. She spent all week, all week courting Taylor and Yash just to end up blindsiding them at the vote.

[00:57:13] And then willingly through the HOH to D the person she spent basically no time with last week while being obviously anti D all week long. And that is like, what you're going to put me on the block. That's not nice. Like, what are you did this to yourself? You had so much and you threw it all away for no reason.

[00:57:43] Yeah. Not my pipe queen. Not mine either. You know, um, it's, it's tough for her to be dealing with something like this. Knowing that, you know, have to sit there and think about everything you just said, Taryn. Right. Like she, she knows that she did all these, these things. And now she's sitting there looking back. It reminds me of Fessy, uh, you know, when, uh, him and, uh, Haley are sitting in the bed and they're just like, remember that time we won HOH and we target our own ally. And that time we won this. And then we did this. Like,

[00:58:12] they're going to look back at all the things that they did and say like, huh, it's almost like we're our worst enemy here. Our own worst enemy. Now I'm hoping Taylor wins the blockbuster because personally, I can deal with a little bit more Mallory. For me, it's about time for Drew to go home and, uh, whatever it makes the optimize is that, uh, that's what I'm going with. Drew goes home without his hairbrush is like kind of a fun way to end the week. I'm just saying.

[00:58:42] Yes. Think about. Uh, so the main thing here with this eviction is that, uh, as long as the vets have four votes, they can decide whatever they want because D breaks a tie. There are eight votes total. They have a guaranteed two with Devens and Angela. So if they want Mallory out, um, and it's against say Taylor, it's, uh,

[00:59:10] all they need to do is pick up Yash and Lala and probably Haley, uh, because Haley will likely do what they want. And there you go. You have five votes. It's easy to evict, uh, Mallory over Taylor. If they want to evict Mallory over Drew, it's a little trickier, uh, because theoretically Yash, Lala and Taylor would all want Drew out. Um, however, uh, you know, as long as you have Barrett, then you have Haley and Barrett.

[00:59:39] D thinks she can get Lala. I don't think she can without Taylor, but she thinks she can. Um, and, uh, and quite frankly, if it goes the other way, it goes the other way. So I think as far as they're concerned, um, but Barrett has promised that he will keep Drew over Mallory. And even though I think he would prefer to have Mallory in the game than Drew, I think he would prefer even more to not go against what D wants him to do. Uh, and so I expect that he actually would follow through with that vote.

[01:00:09] Um, so, uh, so the, the, the vets very much are kind of in control of these votes. Now, again, though, um, I don't think Barrett is happy about any of this. Would he actually do anything is another question, but Drew certainly isn't happy about any of it. Uh, and as I said, he is now looking to go after the vets as early as next week. Um, we'll, we'll see if that actually happens or if, uh, Oh, it's another throne competition, but he does now know that Yash can't go after D.

[01:00:39] Um, and Yash could very easily tell them that he also can't go after the other two. And that could be a whole situation as well. Uh, so we are in for, uh, a bit of an interesting, uh, you know, couple of, uh, campaigning days, perhaps. I really don't expect any of this to like fully hold. I think that as the survivor players are want to do,

[01:01:06] I think they will flip back and forth and probably on Thursday be like, maybe we should get out drew. Or maybe we should get out Taylor. Or at that point, maybe it's already flipped off of Mallory and they go, you know what? We were right in the first place. We should take out Mallory. Uh, so I wouldn't take any of these vote scenarios as gospel quite yet, but, uh, lesson learned for the 57th time.

And oh my God, uh, the things that you will see people say and do when they play big brother, but also when they're watching me brother is insane. So if you want to make sure that Martin Luther King is not looking down on you and shame, you know, maybe do better.

[01:03:07] And I think we saw a little bit of it too. in the episode tonight, as you mentioned, Chappelle, that segment with Taylor saying that she didn't like having to tell Lala to not be herself. Um, I expect more of this to come. I would hope in the episodes, Taylor certainly thinks that this will make the episodes. She talked to Haley today about how she's been having conversations in the diary room about some things that she would like to talk to Haley about and educate Haley about. Uh,

[01:03:36] and so we'll see if any of this actually does make the episodes in the coming, uh, coming days. But, uh, but yes, uh, it is, it's not looking good in there. And just like, if it does start making the edit and the edit is just throwing thog under the bus, like, yes, thog is bad and has said bad things. She's not the only one.
