I'm your host, John Armstrong, and I am here today to update you on everything that happened yesterday. The big brother 28 live feeds.
[00:03:18] It was day five in the house, and we had a veto competition. And we had a very informative day. We're really helping round out what we know about the cast, the season, and what's going on. And with me to talk about it all, Chantal. How are you doing, Chantal? I'm doing really well.
[00:03:40] I'm really tired because these house guests are loving talking, gaming, scheming, changing plans, all in the beginning. And then also, on top of it all, is that I get confused who is whom. I'm like, Ashley, I'm thinking about Ashley of last season. I hear Rome. I'm thinking Rome from Survivor, especially when they're talking with the people from Survivor. And I'm just like, who are these people? Where are they? But eventually they'll be in my brain, and I'll know this cast really well.
[00:04:09] But right now it's a little confusing and convoluted. Yeah, Taylor and Ashley is not helping. And then the Mallory and the melody of it all. I'm like, okay, who's Mallory? Who's Melody? I'm like, ah! We'll get there. We'll get there. So, of course, as we know from yesterday, Dee is the HOH.
[00:04:33] She nominated Mallory, Taylor, and Yash with Mallory as the presumed target. Presumed because that's what Dee was telling people. Though, you know, this early on in the feeds, you never really know what's the truth. And Dee has also told people that Melody would be the likely renom in the event of veto use. So, that's kind of where things stood.
[00:05:02] And we also have, like, we had a rough idea of where, like, alliances and, like, groupings stood. So, we're going to get into that. We're going to get into sort of, like, our better understanding of where things actually lie. Spoilers. Not that different from what we thought. If anything, more, like, confirmation of what we thought in kind of, like, the most solidified way that we were imagining.
[00:05:31] And we're going to talk about the veto competition. We have our results and some plans for the veto ceremony. So, let's get into it, Chantal. Let's get into it. One thing that, like, I'm just, like, loving about this season is, okay, I was worried that I wasn't going to enjoy having people from, you know, Angela coming back and people from Survivor. Like, I usually want a fresh season and get to know brand new people. But I'm surprisingly liking it a lot more than I was anticipating. So, it's been actually pretty fun.
[00:06:01] And especially having Dee, who's not particularly familiar with the structure and how to play Big Brother, be the first head of household. Because she's not necessarily dominating in the way that, like, I was worried that these returning type players are doing. So, yeah, I'm surprisingly happy with the way the season's starting off. Well, she is, at the very least, acting as unfamiliar as possible. But, like, it's working. It's working for me, at least.
[00:06:30] And so, it must be working for the house guests. Yes. And that's, I mean, that's relevant to the early morning of the day. We do get a veto draw that happens early on. And the thing about the veto draw that, of course, we were talking about yesterday is that Mallory is looking for somebody to pick if she is going to pick somebody. And she would like to pick people like Melody or Lyric because those are her friends.
[00:06:59] But those three have been singled out as a trio. And Melody, in particular, has been very, like, oh, I need to distance myself from Mallory. She's really, oh, man. She's loose cannon. She's not popular. And has been, like, telling anybody that will listen about that.
[00:07:26] Mallory hasn't quite gotten that memo and continues to talk to Melody about playing in the veto for her. And every time she does, Melody looks like she is in physical pain and tries to get Mallory to, tries to pawn this off onto Barrett. Because Barrett has volunteered to play in the veto. He really wants to play. Everyone's like, pick Barrett. You like Barrett. You have a good relationship with Barrett.
[00:07:56] And the same thing is happening with Yash and Rome. Yash has asked Rome to play in the veto for him. But Rome was like, nah, bro. If I'm in that veto, I'm throwing it. I can't be winning everything. And so he's basically told Yash, you should pick Barrett to play in the veto.
[00:08:20] And so going into the veto draw, we had that sort of interesting scenario. And turns out, Chantal, because it ended up being Barrett and Melody. Poor Melody. She's going to be a bit of a pickle here. But actually, I'm more siding with Mallory. I feel bad for her. She likes the game in the show. And she's finally on it. And she's getting nominated.
[00:08:49] And she has a little bit of a freak out. A breakdown. Who knows how anybody's going to react to these situations, right? And so she just feels as though she's going. And she's talking to her friend. And her friend is just like, yeah, we're not real friends anymore. And it's basically, we watched throughout the day, the ending of this friendship from Melody's side. And Mallory just has no clue. She still thinks that they're good, even though she's giving her all the reasons not to believe that they're good anymore. So my feelings about it, I was like hoping that, you know,
[00:09:19] Melody became the renom just because like, I feel like there's the disloyalty really, it really bothered me. And it also bothered Devon's and Dee a little bit as well. I'm like, I want her to be a little bit more loyal to her friend. It has been a topic of conversation that Mallory or sorry, Melody feels a bit disloyal, feels a bit like she's just ditching her friend. So that's what happens with the veto draw.
[00:09:47] In the meantime, as I talked about, Dee continues her sort of, I mean, at this point, I think we can outright say it, her act of not really knowing the game or knowing what she's doing. And, and we know it's an act because of how she's going to be talking and acting later in the day. But she talks with Taylor or in the morning, Taylor, of course, one of her nominees and really just plays up that like, oh, I'm just, I'm still learning.
[00:10:18] And this is working on pretty much everybody that she's using it on. Taylor is saying it's okay, Dee. You know, it's, I kid you not, Taylor, who has of course never played any of these games at all, tells Dee, you know, it's okay, Dee, it's your first time playing this game. And of course, what she means is like, it's her first time playing Big Brother, which is exactly what Dee's trying to get across.
[00:10:46] I think Dee says that she does think Maladie would use the veto if she were to win it. And, you know, that would be a concern because they don't want the veto to be used on Mallory. But, but Dee does tell Taylor that she would win the veto and use it on her. And Taylor, this whole time, if you recall from yesterday, has really bought into this idea,
[00:11:16] this excuse that Dee used of one person was nominated from each group. And therefore, and always thought like, you know what, the logic is sound, but Dee just doesn't understand because what Dee didn't realize is that there were two other people in a group, Barrett and Ashley, because they lost that first competition. They didn't get to be in a group, but that means that they should have also been considered. And so in her mind, the fair thing, the good thing to do, especially because she's not fond of Ashley in particular,
[00:11:44] would be to nominate either Ashley or Barrett. And Dee's like, yeah, okay. I'm down with that. Yeah, I could, I could put Ashley up. And Taylor's like, yeah, or Barrett. And Dee's like, well, I can't put Barrett up because he's playing in the veto, right? And Taylor's like, no, no, no, that's not how it works. If he doesn't win, you can put him up. Oh, oh yeah. Okay. That, okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Then, yeah. So, yeah, I mean, I could put up Ashley. Or Barrett. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:12:15] I don't think anybody realizes how close and how much Dee cares for Barrett. They have a lot of conversations where it's just the two of them, but it doesn't look like there's scheming or anything, but I think she actually likes him as a friend and a person. And so, you know, hearing people suggest him and have no idea, it could be kind of detrimental to their game. There's like a few people that I'm like, oh, don't like, you know, like Mallory, don't say anything to Angela because like this could be bad for you moving forward.
[00:12:45] And then also another one would definitely be with Taylor suggesting Barrett to Dee and be like, hmm, maybe not so good. She might not want to keep you here as much if you're going after someone that she really likes. Mm-hmm, yeah. So it's an interesting spot here for Dee. She is also going to talk with Yash. And she, you know, if you recall as well, she put Yash up. Yash was in her group, helped her win HOH, brought her into the house.
[00:13:16] And she told her group that they were good when she won. And then she went and put Yash on the block without even really talking to him. And so, you know, usually that's a pretty big cause of strife. However, whether it's Yash's personality or it's more good work on Dee's part, they do still have a good relationship. He's actually kind of chill about it.
[00:13:43] He says, I trust in my relationship with you more than just, you know, you putting me up. And, you know, I would usually say, like, this is, of course he's saying this. Why, like, you would say this if you were on the block and maybe you're trying to just stay alive in the game. And that may be true to some degree. And he certainly has incentive to believe it more than he otherwise would. But Yash has been relatively consistent with this message through pretty much everyone he has talked to,
[00:14:13] including the people that you might consider his allies or the people that he's closest to. He genuinely seems to be pretty chill about this and not really that upset with Dee. But he did want to, like, of course, talk to her about the way it went down. Like, you know, I would have appreciated a little bit of a heads up, you know, because you did kind of do that thing where you said we were good. And then it kind of just like, out of the blue, you kind of put me out. I mean, I'm fine. Fine. But like, and she goes,
[00:14:44] okay. Oh, thank you for telling me. Oh, my God. I'm really sorry. Yeah. Wow. Fuck. Oh, I'm so sorry. I'm still learning. I'm still. Oh, my heart's racing. I can see why you'd feel that way. That's fucked up. I'm so, oh, man, I'm, I'm so sorry. And he's not. No, it's I mean, it's fine. It's totally fine. I mean, like, I get it. You're still learning. No, I don't recall specifically this moment.
[00:15:13] Because later on, when she's talking to Lyric, Lyric kind of confirms that she never really gave confirmation that this that she gave, you know, her group being like where your guys are all safe. So do you have any specific memory of like, what's the truth? I mean, this would have happened long before the feeds came on. So, you know, it's hard to say exactly what this statement was and what it was interpreted as.
[00:15:40] I would imagine we get it on tonight's episode. If it does exist in any form, I'm sure it does exist in some form. But it certainly could be one of those things where like they took it to mean something a bit more than than it actually was or something along those lines. But, you know, who knows? Either way, though, you know, it's she's learning kind of batting two for two here. Now I say two for two.
[00:16:10] Mallory is is still firmly anti D at this moment and will continue to be for the rest of the day as we will talk about. But back to the veto competition here. Melody and Barrett playing in the veto competition. Barrett does do a brief talk to the cameras and mentions that he does want to win the veto. But he's not going to be saving anybody.
[00:16:37] Despite the fact that many of the nominees were looking to potentially pick him or potentially have him play for them. He's not going to be saving anybody if he actually wins. But he does want to play and he does want to win. We're later going to hear him talk to some other people. And I believe he's telling the truth when he does that. The reason he wants to win is that he was one of the two people who failed that first challenge. He looks like a pretty bad player, bad competitor right now.
[00:17:06] And he'd love to be able to prove himself and show like, hey, I can I'm not terrible at this, which I actually don't. Hey, you know, the veto is usually the far less valuable thing to win if you're not in any danger. But winning something early on in this way, there's some value there. And I can understand why he might be interested in taking a win here.
[00:17:34] And also keeping himself safe. I know he is friends with D, but like who knows with how things are going to shake out the first week. I would want to be safe no matter what. And then also be people that be like, hey, you know, maybe I'm not going to put him up because he could chance for the chance he could take him down. The fact that he him and Ashley didn't play in that first comp, it could open up the door for people to be like, hey, like maybe they should be a renom situation or whatnot.
[00:18:02] So I definitely think that him winning this veto, keeping keeping it the same, shows some loyalty to D in the situation, shows that like he can win things and then also definitely keep himself safe. Yes. Melody, for her part, talks to multiple people about this, including Devin's, about how she is a little conflicted about winning because she doesn't want to use the veto on Mallory despite what Mallory might want her to do.
[00:18:30] And when asked, like, well, like, do you want Mallory to go? She kind of is like, yeah. Which is just a lot. So, but she does, she is competitive and she, she does want to win the veto. So she is looking to potentially win the veto and she kind of needs it. She kind of needs it. She's the name that's being floated as the renom.
[00:18:58] And, and she's out here worrying about like, well, I don't want to look bad to Mallory if I win the veto and then don't use it on her. But I don't want to use it on her because I kind of want her to go home. But she's also like my friend. And, and it's just like, just focus maybe on like your own position and your own safety here. Could be, could be, could be useful. I don't know. That's just my thought. Yeah. I mean, the fact that she's completely oblivious to
[00:19:29] maybe, maybe, maybe she feels as though by her saying, Mallory, Mallory, Mallory, they'll put the separation between her and that little trio. And then maybe they won't want to come after her if, if Mallory is out of the game. So I, I kind of understand the, the, the, the logic behind it, but like also people value loyalty and the fact that she's just looking like such a disloyal friend, willing to drop her at the drop of a hat, doesn't like talking poorly about her behind her back, not even being upfront and honest
[00:19:57] with someone that's supposed to be her friend. She's still saying she's her friend, but she just doesn't want to work with her and doesn't want her to be in the game. And Mallory would never put her up, would never like, would use a video on her. And so the fact that she's completely willing to lose any social capital she has with anybody else over this situation and a good friend in Mallory is, it's interesting because I thought that she'd be a better game player than this. Personally. Classic, classic. We see this a lot. This is actually more of a Big Brother Canada thing.
[00:20:27] I think we've seen a lot of this in Big Brother Canada of the guy, like I gotta distance myself. I gotta distance myself. It's, you know, listen, I'm not going to complain too much because this time last year, we had like multiple people throwing their allies under the bus, nominating their allies. And in this house, there's one person basically doing it and everyone's like, what is this person doing throwing their ally under the bus? So, you know, I think we've certainly got a higher base level to start with here.
[00:20:56] But, and the thing is too, Melody otherwise seems to be a bit of a game player. In fact, this is kind of the problem is that she's almost like, she is such a game player that she's not focused enough on like, how this looks, how this comes off to everyone else. So, so while this is all going on, everyone's hanging out in the morning. There is a moment outside between Barrett, Angela, and Devin's
[00:21:25] that they're really like helps start to illuminate exactly where things are. Because Angela says, all right guys, we gotta get together later tonight after the video. And we knew, we knew I talked about how they did the little celly, you know, in the, in the storage room together the day before. But very clearly, they are talking not only about themselves, but about D at the very least. And,
[00:21:54] and how like, you know, because Angela is basically explaining to them, like once the veto competition happens, we're going to have to figure out like what exactly we're going to do. We're going to have a couple of days. Angela is kind of like their timekeeper, not just these people, but like everyone in the house. She's helping explain to them the timing and the pacing of how things work. She's been here. She's done it before. So they talk about how they think D is doing really well. Angela mentions that she had warned D
[00:22:23] about the Yash thing and how he felt like he was a little bit blindsided by the nomination. And it seems like she's handling it well right now. Angela says, I feel, I feel really good about our group. Nobody's putting it together. This is really good. And in fact, actually thinking about it, maybe I shouldn't join the get together tonight because I trust you guys so much. You can, you can go up, probably shouldn't have all three, you know, vets together. Devin's can go up
[00:22:52] and he can relay the information to me. I'll, I'll stay low key and not do it. Like, I get this and agree with this, but what do you think? because we're always talking about, like, always want to touch base with your alliances and like making sure that you're still good, even, you know, a few hours later, a few days later. So do you think her staying apart, do you think it's actually like good? Or do you think it's possible that like, she might not have the same amount of trust within that group? I'm not gonna lie. I,
[00:23:21] I was, cause I, cause like, there's a, there's a part of me that's on Angela watch, you know, like, like she's doing really well, but I've been here before. And, and like, I, I woke up one morning and all of a sudden crazy eyes escaped the facility. Uh, and it was like, oh boy. Uh, so, you know, I, I'm a little bit like watchful of this. And, and when I hear Angela start to go like, yeah, we should get together. I'm feeling so good. Wait, maybe I shouldn't,
[00:23:51] maybe I should stay back. Maybe I shouldn't join the group. I am a little bit like, uh, oh, are we going somewhere here? Cause this could, I think in a cast of all new players, if this, like this, honestly sounds a little bit like, uh, certainly don't mean this to be a comparison. I don't, I don't compare it to Angela. This is what Riley did last season at the start of the season. He was like, oh no, I don't want to be in a group. I don't want to be talking to her in a group. Um, but, to answer the question, no, I don't think this is actually bad. Uh,
[00:24:19] Angela has this vet connection with, uh, with Devin's and D, um, that is stronger than just like a random grouping of, uh, of people. Um, you know, they're not just going to drop her, uh, just like that because they haven't like bonded enough. In addition to that, Angela does make sure to go and do the work, which is, uh, connecting with D and Devin's and, and various people individually throughout the day.
[00:24:47] So it's not like she's not experiencing that bonding in the way that like Riley sectioned himself off all day, uh, in the previous season. Um, so, uh, and we're actually, we're going to talk about some of those conversations as well. So like, uh, I actually feel like smart. Yes. I actually like this. They should be, especially because they are the vets, the icons, uh, as, as they're being called, um, uh, it's, it's good to keep them from being in a trio together in, in any particular place. So I'm actually, I'm actually into it.
[00:25:17] Yay. Like you, I am, I am, you know, on end would see what Angela is going to do, but I do think that, you know, with some other conversation that she has, that she feels better this time around. She feels like people are on her side. She feels like people are actually wanting to play with her. She's not feeling like an outsider. And so, uh, I do think that when she says that like, okay, I can step back. I don't want us all to be seen together because you don't, we already have a target on our back. So like,
[00:25:46] let's just touch base separately. So yeah, I do agree with you that, uh, it's, it's good. It's good for her, but like you as well, I am nervous for Angela because if anything could happen and she, she might, you know, low. Yep. Tomorrow morning is knocking stock your fridge. Now. [00:27:15] we might as well skip forward just a little bit because, uh, in, in talking about Angela and her relationship to D, she does eventually get a chance to have some brief alone time with D earlier in the day. She's going to have some more later. Um, but, uh, and this is kind of like a thing that they're doing, uh, in general, her and D with Devins. It's the same with like drew. Uh, I miss you. Oh my God. We have a chance. It's, and this is like,
[00:27:45] I'm, I'm going to, I'm probably going to keep using this word throughout the update today because it's the word that keeps coming to my mind. Uh, when I'm thinking about what's happening, it's textbook. Um, it is the thing that they are doing to help bond with one another. Uh, and we're only five days in and we started with on day four and it's like, I don't know, exactly how they managed to solidify so quickly, but like, uh,
[00:28:11] but part of it is every time somebody from this grouping of people, which we'll talk about very soon, it certainly includes Barrett, uh, Angela, uh, Devins and D and we'll talk about drew is in there as well. Um, every time they get a chance to be alone, the veil, the veil drops and it's like the vibe changes and they're like, we're doing it. Like, Oh my God. Like, Oh, I miss you so much. And so, Oh, I can't, I was so good. This,
[00:28:41] we're getting a chance to talk and like, Oh, nobody sees what's happening. Um, and, uh, and, and that matters. It really feels like, you know, the, the, your guard drops, like it feels like this, these are my people. and everyone else is like, and everyone else is like, guard up face on, uh, like we're, we're working. And then with, with my people, it's like, ah, this is, this is great. This is good. This is good stuff. Um, and, uh, that's just textbook. That's just like, you know, exactly what you should be doing here.
[00:29:11] Well, that's definitely for an alliance. Now, what about naming an alliance? Should they be naming their group? Do they have a name yet? Uh, I haven't heard one, but I do think a name might need to come into play. Yeah, we do have some names to drop on, on you, but, uh, I don't think I've heard, um, a name for this particular grouping of people quite yet. Um, but I feel it. I'm sure. I'm sure. I'm sure it's there. Uh, so, so D and Angela do get a chance to connect up in the, the HOH room.
[00:29:41] I miss you. They hug. Um, and, and genuinely, this is like a sweet moment. Uh, and, and again, because of my experience with Angela, I'm always, I'm always a little skeptical of like, honestly, most of anything she says, because as I said yesterday, she is the kind of player that will like do something and then turn to the cameras afterward and be like, uh, but it's felt very genuine because we know what Angela's journey has been, uh, on her season. And, uh, not only the paranormal, which,
[00:30:11] you know, can be laid on the feet of Angela, but also then an entire season's worth of being a second class player in the house, uh, being somebody that is just kind of dragged along that says, can I be on the bottom of your Alliance? And even then, like not really. Uh, and, um, and it's, it's similar to what I remember, uh, thinking about with Rachel, who had never really had a chance to have much of a social game before, uh,
[00:30:41] partly due to her own social game in the past and partly just due to the circumstances of where, uh, and how she was playing. Um, but Angela is saying to D like, this has been the best experience so far. Like, is this what it's supposed to feel like? Uh, like to have allies, to have people that you trust. And D's like, yes, like, yes, this is exactly what it was like on survivor for me. Like, uh, when you have people that, uh,
[00:31:11] that are with you, um, and that you're working together and that you just trust and that you see across the room and like, you know, you're, uh, you're working with them, like all good stuff. And, and they have this sweet moment, sweet moment for Angela. I, I, I definitely liked that moment because I haven't played obviously a live game, but I played, you know, orgs and allergies in my personal life. And I've made some really close friendships through these games. It's because we connected, we realized that we wanted to work together. Uh, you know,
[00:31:40] we would do all of our work with everybody else. And then we'd always come back together and, you know, touch base. And it actually really allows you to have a deep friendship. And I think that that's what she's experiencing here. Um, I would expect that her and D and, and the rest of this Alliance, if they go, you know, the distance or at least even halfway through the game, that they'll make a very strong, real friendship. And so I'm really happy that she's having this experience because that's one of the elements of these games that I love. Love is the connections that people make when they're working,
[00:32:10] um, you know, to win a large sum of money to all together, but separately at the same time. Yes. Yes. So, um, back to this, uh, the, to this grouping, um, in the initial conversation between Angela, Devin's and Barrett, Barrett mentioned that he's expecting Kamu to continue to try to get him nominated. Meaning, uh, Barrett knows that Kamu has been trying to get him nominated.
[00:32:39] He's been told by a couple of people, Devin's included. Uh, and I assume do D included as well here, which was the first real signal. I suspected this the day before, but the first real amount of evidence, uh, for me that like, okay, Barrett knows more than, uh, Kamu, like Barrett knows more about Kamu than Kamu knows about Barrett and, uh, and their, and, and their relationship to D and all of this meaning. Kamu, Haley,
[00:33:09] that side of things seems more like what I suspected a side alliance. And, uh, and that's, uh, the Barrett alliance is the real thing for D and we're going to get more and more evidence of that, of course, as we go along. Um, I definitely like her with Barrett better than, with the Kamu side of things personally. Um, I, I'm interested to see how that might start shaking out because it seems like they're like another little, uh,
[00:33:36] faction that's like not necessarily as well liked in the house, it seems, but they also are still gaining numbers. So I, I'm, I have my eye on them as well. Yes. We are later going to learn that this does have a name, uh, which is the red corner. Uh, don't quite know. What that means. It might be a fighting thing. The red corner. Yeah. That sounds fighting ish. Yeah. Red card, red corner,
[00:34:07] like, and yeah, he's an MMA fighter. So maybe that actually means something chat. Um, yes. Uh, so, uh, that alliance we know is Chuck Haley Kamu. Um, and of course, uh, D is, is in it, right? Like she knows the name. Not only does she know the name, but again, Barrett knows the name. The whole alliance basically knows the name. Um, so, uh, it's a, it's a boxing term people are saying. Okay.
[00:34:37] I get it. That makes sense. It gets the color of their actual corner. Opposites opposition. Okay. Um, so, uh, very much seems to be, uh, like I said, a side alliance for D a parachute alliance for D so to speak. Um, and, uh, and it's working, I mean, it's working perfectly in terms of like how it should, uh, where Kamu and Haley in particular,
[00:35:05] Haley even more so than Kamu really taking all of the heat for D's decision making for, uh, uh, for like the target on anyone's back. Uh, if there is any amount of, um, you know, upset in the house about the nominations or about the first HOA train, um, it pretty much goes right past D and onto Haley Kamu because they feel like
[00:35:33] they're the ones influencing D, uh, again, with one exception. And that exception is Mallory, uh, who is still looking at D Kamu. And Haley is still not that much of a problem for D ultimately, but certainly much more of one. Um, so Drew and Devin's do have a chance to chat as well. Drew tells Devin's about his conversation with Mallory the night before. If you recall,
[00:36:01] I talked about how Drew and Mallory had a chat, seemed like they were working together, uh, uh, in some capacity. And, uh, and, uh, and that Matt melody in particular has been looking for a guy to link up with who can help her win competitions, like just like a physical, uh, presence. Um, and, uh, and, you know, Drew seems to fit the bill at this point. Uh, and Drew based on retelling Devins kind of got that vibe. Like, uh, not,
[00:36:32] not just got the vibe. She actively told him that that's what she was looking for. Um, but, uh, in his eyes, it's like, well, she probably would have preferred Kamu, but he's with like Haley. She probably would have preferred, uh, Rome, but he's with Lyric. Like, I feel like I was just kind of left over. She came to me. Um, and it seems like he's not that into this idea of working with melody, which I was a little surprised about because obviously, you know, regardless of your feelings toward her,
[00:37:01] it's valuable to have somebody who wants to work with you. Uh, and so, uh, and I, listen, I apologize if I end up saying Mallory or melody, but I'm talking about melody, the blonde melody who is not nominated. That is who I'm talking about with drew. Um, uh, so I, I thought this is a great spot for drew. If he's able to pick up an ally here in melody. Uh,
[00:37:28] but the way he's talking to Devin's about it is like, I'm not really into this. I don't trust her because she drops. She dropped Mallory really quickly, which is fair. Um, and, uh, and, and basically, you know, talked about how she is a potential like backup option for, uh, for, uh, for a renom. Um, so, you know, it might not even last that long, but in the course of this very conversation seems to be like, wait a minute, hold on. Hmm.
[00:37:57] Maybe keeping her around could be a good idea because she could be a parachute ally. You ever hear about the cookout Devin's? Um, I mean, obviously it's smart for you to keep anybody that wants to work with you in the game, which is kind of what we're giving melody a little bit of heck for not wanting to keep Mallory in the game because Mallory is somebody that is not going to be coming for you. And, and that, you know, you can, you could be working with on the, on the side. And so, uh,
[00:38:24] it's also very funny how there's a lot of explaining the game into, uh, you know, these people before and like Devin seems to know big brother more than D does seems to know. Uh, and it's also very funny that someone that like, yeah, he knows the game, but he doesn't know the game that much to know that like, you know, there's been others before the cookout. Yeah. I mean, in terms of like, uh, active knowledge that there was a conversation before as well.
[00:38:52] I think it was maybe Lala was in that conversation. Uh, or I don't recall. It's that there was a conversation in the bathroom that, um, no, I think Angela was in that conversation, uh, that Jason joined, uh, and they were talking about how D doesn't know much. Uh, and I think Angela was like, yeah, Devin's doesn't know much either. Uh, and Jason tried to ignore her saying that and like, yeah, but I think D doesn't know much. And she was like, and Devin's. And he was like, I think Devin's knows what that's on. That's just me. I was like, like, uh, we'll talk about it.
[00:39:24] Jason laser focused on Devin's. Uh, but Devin's is again, doing his best to try to like downplay, but not as much as D. Uh, I think he just doesn't, isn't as like capable. Uh, I think that people see Devin's and they know his reputation. They assume that he would know more than they assume that D would know more. And that's because they don't understand who D is. Yeah. They're getting tricked. They're getting tricked. They're getting tricked for sure. Um, I,
[00:39:53] I do think that D is getting some clarification sometimes, but I also think she's gauging how smart other people are in the game as well. Like, okay, what would your strategy be? It's kind of like what she's kind of asking, like, why would you do that? Uh, okay. Oh, I, oh, I understand now. Oh, I don't really know this game. So like, even if she doesn't know the game, I think she's actually gaining a lot of information from people that are teaching her a game, which I think is, is great for her, um, as well. Yeah.
[00:40:23] I mean, you know, I'm not going to say that I, that I think necessarily that D knows every nook and cranny of like the details of how the, she's read the manual or whatever, the practicalities of the game. But like, that's not all she's playing dumb with. Like she's, she's pretending she doesn't understand like how relationships work, how like, Oh, if I'm supposed to nominate people that just like anybody,
[00:40:51] like not just from groups of people like, uh, like, Oh, somebody will, wouldn't they want to use the Vita? Like, uh, very clearly D is, is playing this up. I think at this point, like, I don't think that's really like, uh, up for debate anymore. Um, and you can also tell this because, uh, the second she gets in a conversation with one of her real allies, her entire demeanor changes. She goes from, wait, Angela,
[00:41:19] is this how it's supposed to work to, Oh no, Angela, this is how it's supposed to work. Uh, and you know, it's, it's, it's very clear, I think. Um, but back to Drew and Devin's, uh, Drew says, ever hear about the cookout Devin's? Uh, basically, you get a parachute Alliance. You get put up on the block with that person. Melody could be that person for me. If I get put up with Melody, you guys keep me safe over Melody. That's good for us. Uh, so maybe we, maybe we should, uh, keep Melody around. Um,
[00:41:49] in addition to that, he also kind of wants to keep Mallory around, uh, the person who's on the block and potentially the target. Uh, and Devin's agrees with that. We already know that Angela wants Mallory around. The one thing that I was confused about the day before in terms of Angela and Dees, his relationship was that Angela seemed to be under the assumption that Mallory would be sticking around. I wasn't sure if he was like correcting that notion or if he was really looking to target Mallory. So, uh, I wasn't entirely sure, but it seems like most of this Alliance,
[00:42:18] if not all of this Alliance is already looking at Mallory as somebody that they want to keep. And instead, maybe Yash might be a good target. I mean, you know, if he's on the block at the end of the week, which of course is exactly what we expected would happen. This is exactly what has happened the previous two times. Uh, this is the first week is played out in the blockbuster era. Uh, and so, um,
[00:42:44] Yash be beginning to become a bit more of a target within this power group, the group rates of current currently controlling the house. Uh, in addition to that, Devin says, I like Taylor as a person a lot. Uh, I don't, I don't even want to see Taylor go. So yeah, I think Yash would be a great target. And I think also just feeling how, like, I don't know what's obviously going to happen yet. Cause it hasn't played out, but the fact that he's so confident, you know, you see him in conversations with Taylor being like,
[00:43:13] both of us are staying at the end of this week. And you know, the way that he's speaking, I just feel like he's going to have a rude awakening. And like, if he doesn't win that blockbuster at the end of the week, I kind of feel like they're not going to take like, lose that shot, miss that shot. Um, I'm taking it like a strong competitor that, uh, knows the game a little bit that, you know, I don't know. I just, the feeling I have is that Yash might be the first person going out this week. Um, obviously that can change depending on what happens with, um, the veto ceremony,
[00:43:42] et cetera. And who's sitting beside or potentially, but I don't know what the way he's talking. I just, it's ominous to somebody that's going to go home unexpectedly. Yeah. I mean, I think, you know, I keep talking about textbook and I think the reason, uh, textbook is relevant for, for the, the house right now is because it, the knowledge gap is so real. Um, and Yash is the person with perhaps the least amount of knowledge. Uh,
[00:44:10] and he just doesn't quite have the urgency he needs to have, uh, in this, in this moment. And even as he starts to develop some of that urgency, he doesn't have really any idea how to go about saving himself or changing his fate here. Uh, he just doesn't have the same level of knowledge as the vets, as the super fans, or even like just the big fans of the show. Cause there are a lot of fans here and the gameplay level is a little bit
[00:44:39] like higher than, uh, than normal. I would say right now, uh, you know, I could always, uh, changes things start to get a little harder. Um, but, uh, but yeah, we'll see what happens with Yash over the course of the day. Um, Haley talks with Lala, uh, which is an interesting, uh, pairing of people. Um, and the reason I talk about it is because they're talking about melody, uh, and how melody has been picked to play in the veto.
[00:45:09] And they don't know exactly what melody will do with it. Uh, and Lala says, I don't like melody. I don't like melody. And Haley's like, Oh, me too. They don't like melody. And who was this? Whispering combo. She's sorry. Was this their whispering combo? Because like, I like, I found them very, very difficult to make out what they're saying. When they were whispering, if this is that conversation, because I was like, well,
[00:45:39] like I really had to like pay, pay close attention. Uh, I do not recall if they were whispering at the time, but it would not surprise me if they were whispering. Um, but, uh, but yes, they don't like Mallory much. Sorry. Scratch that. They don't like melody much melody. The blonde who is not on the block, who wants to distance herself from Mallory with the glasses, who is on the block. Um, so, uh,
[00:46:09] they don't like her much. And, and it's because I think largely because she is spending so much time again, trying to distance herself from the friend, friend, from the friend that she does have and not spending enough time making more friends. Uh, she, she got in with, uh, with drew, which is great and could be very, uh, uh, beneficial to her. If drew really does stick to this idea that he wants to keep her around. Um, but, uh, but now she's kind of stuck to drew like glue,
[00:46:39] at least for the first portion of the day. Uh, and it's like melody, Drew's going to want to distance himself from you. Um, Lala says she's going to be voting out Yash over Taylor. Uh, and, um, because we know that, uh, Lala really loves Taylor. Um, but it was also, again, just talking about like voting out Yash in general. Um, and, uh,
[00:47:06] Lala also makes sure to mention Angela's got to go. Angela's got to go. Uh, we can't have her stay too long. Devin's too, Devin's too. Um, but, uh, but we love D. We both, they both loved Haley and Lala. They both love D. They want to work with D. They want to keep D around as long as possible. Um, but, uh, but Lala very anti Angela, Jason,
[00:47:35] very anti Devin's Lala also anti Devin's Lala's anti vet, except for D. Uh, Jason's generally anti vet, except for D. Um, so these are the two kind of like biggest anti vet forces, I would say. Um, and, uh, and they both like to spread it. Is, is Lala only going, after Angela, obviously the vet thing is kind of universal, but because of the age thing, she wants to be the first, the oldest house guests to, to win big brother.
[00:48:05] I, I, I, it's, I, I don't know what else it is. Well, good, but it's kind of like, I feel like they should almost work together. You know, um, you would think, I mean, I don't know. Like, uh, it's, it's, uh, listen, I understand why new players would want to take out vets. Uh, I don't understand why they would want to take out Angela first, then Devin's and leave D. Um, but,
[00:48:35] uh, but yeah, it's again, it's just a bit of a knowledge gap here. The, the biggest super fans, Barrett and drew completely understood that it is in their interests to get as cozy as possible with these people, uh, as early as possible, because that is the safe and effective place to be. And the, uh, those that are like, like, ah, these people are dangerous. I want them out. Um, you know, are, are left in the cold.
[00:49:04] And that's unfortunate for somebody like Lala, who I think otherwise would be a really, like in a really good position socially, she's phenomenal, but, um, but she's kind of like on the wrong side of things right now. Now that could change. Of course we have one, you know, group in power, but, uh, you know, that's cause they're HOH. I mean, this, this week truly showing the effectiveness of the first HOH when you aren't a disaster player.
[00:49:33] Yeah, no, it's definitely starting to line up really nicely. Um, it could be actually with the Lala, the case of like not wanting somebody that has your name inside the house as well. And so it could be that they're just like similar archetypes. Like I want to be the only one here. Um, and that's couldn't be also why she doesn't want to be, be with Angela. Think about what their Alliance name could have been. Angela. Angela. I mean, maybe, maybe you need to pitch that. Send like a tweet or something when she's had a householder.
[00:50:04] Uh, love it. Um, yes. So, uh, there is a conversation as well, uh, between Barrett and Ashley. Ashley is, um, also thinking, or Ashley is sort of like, Ashley is an interesting player. We kind of have to talk about her a little bit. Um, she doesn't seem to have a, she doesn't seem to fit anywhere. Um, she has good relationships everywhere. Doesn't really fit anywhere. And, uh,
[00:50:31] you might actually call her a floater at this point. Uh, if, if such a thing could exist so early on. Um, and she just kind of is, is floating around. I think looking for a place. She does get along, I think most with a couple of the women like, uh, like Lyric and Melody and, and, and them, but, um, but also seems to have a decent relationship with Barrett. Uh, she's thinking that, uh, they should keep Yash, that they should take out Mallory or Taylor. Um, and, uh,
[00:51:00] and I thought was particularly interesting about this conversation, of course, is that when she says we should take out Mallory or Taylor, uh, Barrett says, yeah, who knows what will happen with the veto? It's not offering anything up here. Um, which is just one of those signs. One of those signs. Yeah. Wasn't he crushing on her? Like when did that end? Uh, you know, like, uh, maybe it's still there. Oh, you know, they were chatting. I mean, that would be an unlikely duo, but like,
[00:51:29] I think it was cute. I'd ship it. Would you ship that couples, Darren? Like, what would their name be? Uh, barely, barely, barely. Oh, okay. Yeah. That's, that's pretty good. That's on the spot. Um, so drew talks to melody. Uh, again, she's been kind of like hanging out, with, uh, with him for a little while. Uh, and he basically like quizzes her about Mallory. Uh,
[00:51:59] again, drew was talking to melody, the one, not on the block, Mallory on the block. Malady wants to distance herself from Mallory who was on the ball. Uh, and he's, I think trying to be like, now that I've thought about maybe keeping her around, like, let me get to the bottom of this, like distancing thing. Uh, like what's up with your relationship with Mallory? She's like, yeah, I just don't want to be associated with Mallory. Uh, and he's like, well, but like, do you, do you, do you want Mallory gone? She's like,
[00:52:31] I'm kind of like over Taylor. Uh, like, yeah, I think so. Uh, she said, I just don't want to be associated with Mallory. Like it, like, it's not like I can't trust her to keep information to herself, but like, I just can't like, I can't trust her to like, keep it together, you know, like not crash out. Uh, and I'm, I'm just, what did Mallory do? Oh, I know. Like, I was just thinking, it brought me to like,
[00:53:00] it's a survivor reference. Like, I guess I can reference survivor since like, you know, people are from that game. Um, but when Aubrey in her first season, had her major crash out. So maybe, maybe it's similar to this. And then maybe after that, Mallory is going to rebuild and like, become like a really, really strong, powerful player. Because like, that's the only thing I can imagine what have happened is that like, you know, maybe crying, maybe lashing out, maybe talking to people, uh, that she shouldn't be. I don't know, but I'm,
[00:53:30] I'm thinking it's similar to how Aubrey had a bit of a crash out, but I'm hoping that, other than with melody, but that Mallory will be able to rebuild herself. And maybe they show us in the episode, like what happened. I'm sure they will. I, it's, it's possible. She's just talking about like Mallory crying after being nominated, which would be wild if that's all it was. Uh, but, um, but, but basically Drew's like, well, don't you want somebody like that in the house though?
[00:54:01] Like literally like try, like trying to try and trying with melody here. She goes, no, not if she's associated with me. Uh, and it's like, Mallory, melody doesn't quite understand it, but she's arguing against her own case with drew. We're like, drew's essentially saying to melody, don't you want Mallory around as an ally who will take heat? Uh, and melody is saying, no, I wouldn't want her because she's associated with me.
[00:54:30] And drew is, is currently trying to make that his own equation about melody. And she's arguing the wrong side of it. If she wants him to work with. She's definitely against her own interest. If he's like, you want this to happen, right? And he, she's like, no. And then he's like, okay, well it might not happen between us now because you don't think it would be the smart move. He does. He does say like, Hey, if you win HOH, like, uh, like that would be great.
[00:54:59] I I'll be like your goal between. I'll be like, uh, the HOH is busy right now. Uh, which I thought was very funny because you just talked to, uh, to Devin's about making her an obvious hair so that she would be nominated with him. And then he's talking to her about how, uh, if she wins HOH, he would be, uh, very obviously linked to her. Um, so interesting stuff there. Uh, and if you're like, Oh, look at drew, he does have a little bit of a, uh,
[00:55:29] an error here as well. Earlier in the day, uh, he talks to lyric, um, and they're like on a walk for a bit and, uh, and they're chatting and he's kind of joking around. Um, and you know, she's like, I feel good with everyone. I feel like I trust everyone. He's like, uh, like even me. She's like, yeah, she's like, we don't talk. I mean, um, and, and just talking in general, trying to like get, uh, get a vibe from her chat with her,
[00:55:58] ask her some questions. Lyric does not like this. Lyric did not like her conversation with drew. Uh, she has set him off a little or search. He has set her off a little bit. Um, just in terms of like, uh, just feeling sketched out, I guess, from that conversation, there was nothing in the conversation that stuck out to me particularly. Uh, that's why I can't exactly pinpoint exactly what the problem is, uh, aside from like the, the occasional joke here or there. Um, but, uh, but she did not like it.
[00:56:27] And she talks to Jason about that. Um, and Jason said, don't worry about him. He's sketchy. People know it. I'm going to go for him. Remember drew in the eyes of the house is somebody that might've been nominated or was almost nominated. And Jason in particular also doesn't like drew very much and thinks that drew snuck up to the HOH room and got himself saved from the block, uh, by, by sucking up the D. Uh, so, um, so Jason is saying that Jason and Lyric are really tightly linked.
[00:56:57] Uh, he says they're doing a great job of keeping their thing low key. Um, um, and they agree that Mallory is the target for them. Um, like Lyric is also have like willing to drop Mallory here. Um, just not being as vocal about it, which helps alleviate some of the melody, uh, pressure that is happening. Um, but basically Lyric and Jason are kind of like, it seems like they're super tight. She's with Rome,
[00:57:25] but also Jason is like her next closest ally. Yeah, I definitely like them together. And like, thanks for piecing that together. Cause I was just wondering, like, was there something that I missed as to why she dislikes Drew so much, but I do think it must be her relationship with Jason and Jason talking about the fact that Drew must've done something sneaky to get himself, um, to not be the target. And so that, that must be the reason because I was just like, what, what, what did he do? What did he do? Um,
[00:57:55] it didn't make any sense to me. Um, I also actually really like, I like Jason and I like Lyric. I like their little dynamic together. I'm not that plus about the little showmance thing. It's a little bit too cutesy for me right now. Um, but, um, I do like Lyric and Jason's relationship. Yes. Finance lead just opened the credit card statement, a charge she can't trace. No receipt. [00:59:22] So the feeds eventually go down for the veto. And I think this is a good place to go. And I think this is a good place to kind of pause and get a solid grasp. Just like touch on some of the other people to give you an idea of where they're at. At the moment, we've talked plenty about Angela. I mentioned Ashley Barrett. Chuck is pretty quiet for the most part in terms of like strategic play.
[00:59:47] He is going to have a conversation with Rome that I skipped over accidentally. Um, so, uh, this conversation is a little illuminating. So Chuck has a conversation with Rome where they talk about like how they were kind of working together. And so what it seems to me is that Chuck, Camu, Haley,
[01:00:16] that red corner alliance that includes D in some capacity, uh, kind of maybe also included Rome at one point. Uh, I don't know if he was around for the official naming or if he was just around for early talks, but, um, but, but Rome was a part of that group, uh, that they had talked about working together. Uh, and what I assume happened is that like they were there, maybe Haley had a, uh, a thing for Rome.
[01:00:45] Maybe there was a little flirtation happening. Uh, and it was like, these are, you know, it makes sense. Like all the Chuck and Camu and Rome and Haley, uh, and maybe even D at that point, who knows? He's, he's big athletic people all coming together. But then Rome again, like the meme had eyes for lyric. Uh, and basically just to help explain more of Rome,
[01:01:13] like the guys locked in on lyric. Uh, like he, I think, you know, he's there, he's there to play the game. He's there to, he's there. He's gonna have conversations with people, but his focus is on lyric. Uh, he is very much like, uh, like, I think the game is, is, is a distant second place to the ultimate goal, which is, you know,
[01:01:41] develop a relationship with lyric. Um, so, uh, so, you know, that becomes pretty clear and ultimately kind of splits him off from this group. And so Chuck tries to have a conversation where he's trying to like reel him back in a little bit. Uh, like I, you know, I really feel like, uh, like, you know, you should, you should be having more conversations with us. Um, you know, like, has anything changed since we originally got together? And Rome's like, no, nothing's changed. It's like,
[01:02:10] I just feel like maybe showmances are involved and like, maybe, you know, I feel like, you know, it's day five. Like, you shouldn't like let showmances get in the way of our strategic game. And Rome's like, of course not. I don't know. By the way, Rome is like very much pretending like he can play down. Down the relationship. Uh, like, uh, like, Oh, we were in the same bed. Yeah. She's just, you know, she's really, you know, her voice gives out. So it's hard to hear, uh, what she's saying. So I needed to get into, have a conversation in her,
[01:02:40] in her bed. Uh, nobody, nobody knows that we were kissing. They all know. I think also part of it though, is the Haley, um, faction here because it does seem like Haley was a little bit hurt that she wasn't the one, maybe chosen for his admirations. And so I think that that, like, even if he doesn't ever say it, I think Haley being part of this group is also, you know, it could jeopardize what Lyric things if like, you know,
[01:03:09] that you saw them working or talking or hanging out together. And so I think that he just doesn't even want to jeopardize his relationship with Lyric to be into something with Haley, especially since Haley had, I think for him and may even still, um, yeah. And so that's also probably why he's not fully, you know, immersing himself in this group. Yeah. But, but what this does is it leaves the, the feud, so to speak, between Haley, Camu and Rome, um,
[01:03:38] a bit more one-sided than we might've thought. Right. We kind of thought like there was a little bit of like a full-on schism and that like, you know, Rome had his people and Camu and Haley had their people. Uh, but I think the closer reality is that Rome actually kind of still feels like he's in good with them to some degree. Um, though I think that's starting to change, uh, because, you know, him drifting off has caused them to be looking at him a certain way,
[01:04:05] but he hasn't quite fully realized how much that that's happening. Um, and with the Haley situation, it's also a little bit unclear. You know, again, she had talked to the previous day as your, uh, reference that like, she was like, Oh, you know, I thought you were really hot, but then you went with lyric. Um, and so, uh, it is, it's possible that those are real things. I mean, she was saying that she was saying that to, uh, to like pump up his ego. So it's, you know, who knows, but, um, you know, Chuck is essentially,
[01:04:35] uh, you know, I think one of those just kind of like, seemingly so far. So he's got a group of people and he just wants to have a solid group, have a solid Alliance. And he's trying to play mediator. He's trying to pull Rome back in. I don't think it's going to be super successful. Uh, Chuck emphasizes the importance of having a core group early on. Um, you know, the game is a marathon, but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't talk game. It doesn't mean that we shouldn't, uh,
[01:05:06] pull a group together because other core groups will be forming, uh, which is all good stuff from Chuck. But, uh, but ultimately, you know, uh, there wasn't much more from Chuck throughout the day in terms of, uh, gaming too much. Yeah. I've definitely felt that, you know, obviously it's good that he's trying to form a group, especially in this first week. Um, one that sort of includes the head of household. Um,
[01:05:34] but I also feel as though he doesn't actually have his finger on the pulse as to what is actually going on in the house. And I think that he thinks that his group is the one that's in control, probably because they have D sort of part of it, but like, there's so many other things that are going on around him that he's not really a part of the conversations. Like he, he's just, he does seem to be on the outside of the rest of the game. And so I'm wondering if he's going to kind of get some insight as to like, Oh wait,
[01:06:02] I'm not in as good of a position that I actually, that I think I am. Um, he, I feel like he feels like he's like the nucleus and like, he's actually just like not really part of like the main focus of the game. Yes. Yes, for sure. Uh, we've already talked about D Devins, Drew, um, Haley, as I mentioned, uh, no real change from where we saw her the day before, uh, the day before. Um, you know, again, like, uh, we,
[01:06:30] I guess we have further clarification that her alliance is not exactly the main one for D and that's, uh, she's basically being propped up as the fall guy for everything that's happening right now. And that's a pretty successful strategy at the moment. Jason continues to be about where he was, uh, the day before I would say maybe a little bit, uh, you know, again, considering how strong a position this vet Alliance, uh, has, uh, it's, it's a bit worse again,
[01:06:57] that he has really chosen to work against them. Um, especially because it doesn't seem like he's got anything super solid locked in, uh, uh, Camu, same as, uh, with Haley, um, he was a little quieter throughout the day yesterday than he was the day before. Um, Lala, we've already talked about a bit lyric again, spends a lot of time with Rome. I would say lyric, um, is slightly less focused on Rome than Rome is focused on her,
[01:07:25] but they are pretty similarly locked in. Like they're very focused on each other. And the game is a little feeling a little secondary for both of them. I, I think she's again, maybe like a little more like she has less people approaching her to talk about things than Rome does, uh, at times. But, uh, I do feel like she's got a little more space for the game than Rome does at times. Um, Mallory again on the block.
[01:07:54] Mallory spends most of the day just talking about how she wants to go after D, uh, Kamu and Haley, um, and trying to get other people to do the same, but we'll talk about more about her in just a moment. Talked about melody Rome. Taylor, uh, is interesting. She has a conversation with Barrett. She talks with Lala a lot. Um, Taylor is like reasonably liked in the house, but, uh, I think again,
[01:08:22] we don't know exactly what happened in those early days. Uh, or if that thing with Devin's, you know, ended up going anywhere. Devin's did say he likes Taylor a lot. So, uh, it does seem like they've repaired that whatever it was, if it, if it ever was anything, it just feels like Taylor got off on the wrong foot and then was nominated and has never had a chance to really like do much beyond that. Um, but it's operating pretty slop or like she's, she's a half, not like she's really low energy.
[01:08:52] And I don't know if it's helping her this first week. She's talking a lot about being really hungry. Uh, a lot of the time and that it's like genuinely. And I, and I actually believe her that like a lot of her, like being nominated is not the highest thing on her priority list. Just feeling hungry and tired is taking up more of, uh, the headspace. Um, and so she hasn't really had a chance to get off the ground, but what she is doing is,
[01:09:22] is decent so far. She's the way she's talking with D she's talking with Lala, with Yash, she's making some decent bonds. People do like her. So that's good. Yash is, uh, as we talked about before, you know, doing okay, but doesn't quite know exactly what he should be doing. I think in the, for the most part, and it thinks he's too good or, you know, thinks too much that he's good, uh, for, uh, for the vote. So that's kind of where things stand. The feeds are down for the veto.
[01:09:51] And when they come back up, we discover that Mallory has won the power of veto. The supposed target of the week, though it was starting to shift as one, the veto. And this marks, by the way, the third time in a row, uh, in the, in the, in the blockbuster era that the target has won the veto in week one. Uh, of course, uh, we had, uh, Lisa,
[01:10:20] Lisa in, uh, in, in season 26, we had, uh, Ashley last season, now Mallory this season. Uh, so, fun, fun little stuff going on there. Uh, they clearly are giving competitions. Like the week one veto being a competition that is giving the chance for players like Lisa, Ashley and Mallory to win is clearly a good decision because these are the kinds of players that are often targeted early on people that they don't,
[01:10:50] think are capable of winning competitions. They're easy targets. Uh, and then giving them one, a kind of competition that allows for those players to win, um, is working really well. Uh, so good stuff. I don't know if it's on purpose, but, uh, but good stuff. This was like a puzzly kind of like nine degrees, 45 degrees, like lines. Uh, yeah, I was trying to figure out what, what this, what, what this game or puzzle was, but I couldn't. It was a lot of talk about how Mallory has,
[01:11:19] has basically like done this before, played this game before, uh, on like, I assume a smaller scale. Um, but, uh, but, you know, I, I'm never good at figuring out what the competition was, to be honest. It's so I, I just, I start tuning it out when they start talking about things. Um, but melody, Mallory has won the veto and that means she will be taking herself off the block. Huge for Mallory. Of course, we talked about this yesterday by far.
[01:11:49] The biggest thing that you can do to help yourself in week one, if you're on the block is take yourself off the block, not only because it keeps you guaranteed safe, but it also opens you up to have a social life again. Melody, who's been talking about distancing herself from Mallory all week long is now like, uh, well, look who's miss veto queen over here, Mallory now has a veto. She's safe. Um, and, uh, and, uh, Oh, melody might be the one ending up on the block considering that she's
[01:12:18] one of the most likely renoms. Um, and so at this point, going through the list of people that D is likely to nominate, certainly not Angela. It's, uh, not going to be Barrett. Um, Chuck is safe. It's not going to be Devin. It's not going to be drew Haley and Kamu are in this, like side alliance with her. Probably not going to be them. Jason is safe. Lala. Maybe we'll talk about it, but Lala is very popular and people like her.
[01:12:48] And it's not a lot of reason to nominate her. Not a lot of momentum there. Lyric. Maybe she's connected to Rome. If you want to take a shot there, you could talk about that one as well. Melody is the obvious option is somebody who has been gaming pretty hard, who has a lot of heat on her. Nobody would be mad. She's been distancing herself from her only friends. Um, and a lot of people want her on the block. So that's a popular option. Rome is safe. The other two are already nominated. And that's really, that's really it. It's like Ashley, maybe, uh, because you know,
[01:13:17] she's like, got no, no other people. Lyric, Lala, Melody, but Melody is easily the biggest option on the board at this point in time. And the person that, uh, D has talked about nominating the most, but she has mentioned Ashley a bit as well. Remember in her conversation with, uh, Taylor earlier in the day, she mentioned that she might nominate Ashley and it fits her logic of like Ashley and Barrett in the remaining group of people, uh,
[01:13:46] are two people that she could put up on block. So that's kind of like the assumed analysis. And I mentioned this now because we don't really get anything from D in terms of who she plans to nominate. Until the very end of the night, which I will then reveal what she's talking about. Um, but we do start to cross some people off the list throughout the day. So we'll get to that as well. Um, like I, because she's been such a bad friend to Valerie. I really wanted to stick with Valerie getting just like,
[01:14:15] she needs to have a, an awakening. I want to see how she's going to react. If she's going to be policing, how Mallory reacts when she's being nominated. I just want to see how she reacts and see if it's going to be better or she's recognizing that she may may react similar to Mallory and didn't, doesn't like that. Maybe that quality in herself. So at this point I was kind of, I'm obviously happy for Mallory because I, I, I like when the person that really wants to be here has the opportunity to,
[01:14:42] to play a competition where they can win and they do. But I also really need Melanie to like realize that when she's done, I need to hear her to feel the pain. And so at this point, I was happy with the way that the prenoms were potentially going, but things may change obviously. Yes. Uh, and in the interest of not taking all day, we'll, we'll try to, uh, try to, I've, I've given you the good, a good lay down now. So of the, of where things stand.
[01:15:11] So we'll try to sort of speed through, um, some, some of the, the conversations here. Um, again, Mallory spending a lot of time. It's just important to impress this upon you, spending a lot of time talking to many people about her plans to nominate D, uh, Kamu and Haley. Um, and talking to a player like Taylor, uh, who we already know is pretty good with the, at this point, at least, uh, saying like, I want to put up the, you should put up the, and Taylor's like, I'd put up Kamu.
[01:15:41] I'd put up Haley, but I don't want to put up D. Um, why not? Like, I don't, I just, I feel, I feel like I'm fine with D. I mean, I don't think she really knew what she was doing. Um, and she's like, but she's locked in with Kamu. We need to put her up on the block. Uh, Mallory says, you know, it's a bad look. I think if you don't put D up on the block, you got to put up the person that put you up on the block. You don't,
[01:16:12] I don't want to put up the, you know, um, it's again, it's like these, these, these concepts are good to know, but saying them out loud kind of negates the purpose sometimes, but not always. Um, you know, in this case for Mallory at the very least, like she's safe. And so, um, saying that she's going to put up D isn't the worst thing in the world for her. Um, trying to convince other people to do it. It might be a little dangerous, but who knows? She's going to continue to try doing this with Taylor throughout the day. And Taylor's going to continue to tell her basically, no,
[01:16:41] I don't want to do D. Well, and also Taylor's still on the block. So like, you know, D doesn't have as much power, obviously as she, well, she still hasn't done a renom yet. And so like, if, if Taylor is good with D, maybe D will consider putting somebody up that would have the higher likelihood that she's going to stay in the game or at least be able to beat in the blockbuster competition. So like, yeah, I get it. Like Valor, you're excited. Like, you know, you know who your target is because someone came for use. You're going to go and target them back,
[01:17:10] but you're safe. You can talk this way. Like she's not safe yet. She's not in the clear. So maybe next week, if she's head of household, maybe, you know, that could be a direction that she might want to go in. I don't know if I've talked to her then yet either, but the fact that she's not safe is just not the right time to be, you know, talking about targeting the head of household. Yeah. Um, Devin's has an interesting conversation with Rome. Uh,
[01:17:39] and this is the first real time I've seen Devin's do some work in the house. Uh, you know, a lot of the work has already been done, uh, so far. So it's interesting to see some work actually happening, uh, from, from Devin's at the very least. Um, basically Devin's gives Rome a pitch, uh, over the chess board, uh, where, which basically says, I think it would be good for us to work together. Um, he really like, it's so funny.
[01:18:08] Everyone understands that the way to manipulate Rome is to just like play to his ego and like literally any, every single person in the house. And it works seemingly every time. Um, and so Devin's just like, you know, Rome, you know, like here's, you're a big target in this house. And I'm a big target, not because I think I should be, but because of, you know, I was on survivor. Uh, and he does this whole thing, which I assume he's been doing, which is like, you know, on survivor, I was able to trick people, but there's nothing to trick people with in here. You're,
[01:18:38] you can't trick anybody. Um, and, uh, you know, like all of this stuff about, you know, whatever. Um, and so the idea is, Hey, you're a big target in this house. I'm a big target in this house. We need each other. Uh, and I feel the same way about Devin's. Like, and, and clearly again, Devin's and D have, have told some kind of story because he refers to it. Like it already, like people already know it. Like Rome already knows, like, you know, even though me and D, you know,
[01:19:08] we have, we really struggle with trusting one another. You know, we understand that like all the big threats need each other to stay in the game. Uh, and, uh, and that, you know, that includes you. You're such a, you know, like everyone's going to be looking at you, man. Um, and essentially using like the lions and hyenas strategy, like the Tony, uh, kind of thing. Um, and so basically pitches this idea that, uh, that they should look out for one another. They should keep it on the down low. Uh,
[01:19:37] but you know, try to, and it's, it was so funny too, where like you saw that the, the different ways that Devens has been pitching conflicted with one another because he's been telling everyone like, man, nobody's talking with me. Like nobody's coming to me with anything. Um, which is in some ways is true. Nobody outside of his grouping is really doing that. But, uh, but of course he has his, his group. Um, so when he's talking to Rome about like, you can go to your people and like, you know,
[01:20:05] try to convince them like to keep me around and like, let me know if they're saying anything. And I can go to, you know, if, if people do end up coming and talking to me, uh, at some point, then I'll maybe hear something and then I'll be able to pass it along to you. Um, and, uh, and Rome throughout all of this is like, yeah, yeah, yeah, That's a good idea. Yeah. I like this. Um, to the point where Rome then responds by saying, yes, this is a great, and listen, I'll,
[01:20:35] I'll tell you this. So me and Yash, we did this. I did this with Yash early in the game. Like we bonded really well. And then we're like, Hey, we should not hang out and like, make it seem like we're not close. He tells to Devens. Um, and then what happened was like, people were like trying to convince me that Yash was coming for me. People like, you know, like Chuck was trying to tell me that. Um, and you know, and so like, and Devens is like,
[01:21:05] I, I think, cause I was doing the same thing. Devens is like, okay. So you're saying yes. Like you like, um, and, uh, yeah, yeah. Like you, this could work really well. And like, um, and then Devens kind of tries to pivot and be like, yeah, like I could see, like if people try to tell me, come up to me and be like, Rome is doing a certain kind of thing. Uh, then I can know that like, Oh, they're trying to turn us against each other. Um, and so an interesting proposition. Um,
[01:21:35] there's clearly a lot of this going on again. And there's like a lot of base level of like a lot of people recognizing that having a good down low Alliance member is useful to them, but, uh, actually making it work, actually maintaining that connection is the real test. So we'll see if this actually goes anywhere, but it was pretty interesting. It was interesting. And like, I, I, I like this duo for Devens. It would be, it would be, I don't know though, if I can trust Rome. Um,
[01:22:05] like the fact that he just divulged that information about him and Yash to Devens, who he's not specifically working with yet. And I don't even think he realized that he kind of gave some additional information that he didn't need to, you know, he might not be the best ally, but, um, I do think it will help Devens not be targeted by, by Rome. I just don't know if they, if they're going to work that well together. Yeah. Um, it's, it's just,
[01:22:33] it's wild to me how much people talk. It's, it happens every season and, and, and I get it, but like, uh, people just love to explain what they're doing. Well, I think they want people to know how smart they are and how well they're doing. And you know, yeah. Traditional home security only alerts you after a break in and that's too late. [01:24:00] Uh, and Melody's like, great. We should really be separating though. We should really be separating. Uh, Angela talks with Taylor a little bit. Uh, Angela is sort of the, the resident mom comforting people. A lot of the time, Angela, uh, is trying to comfort Taylor a bit. Taylor tells Angela that if, about the renom, that if D follows the same logic about the groupings, that she should nominate either Barrett or Ashley. Um, and, and so the,
[01:24:30] the night kind of moves on. Uh, we eventually get a conversation between D and Lear. And Lyric being one of, I think the potential in my head, one of the potential options for nomination. I was interested to see this conversation. It seems as though Lyric actually has a pretty good relationship with D. Didn't really know that too much. Um, and, uh, they're like, oh, they love each other. And D promises Lyric. She is not going on the block. She's not going to be nominated whatsoever. Uh, and, and it felt not like, uh,
[01:24:58] like I am rendering your judgment now. It felt like, obviously you're, you're not going on. Um, and so, uh, uh, Lyric in return is, uh, saying like, and don't worry about Mallory because if Mallory wins HOH, I will talk her out of putting you on the block. Um, and this, this really clicked in for me. I was like, yes, melody, lyric, and Mallory were,
[01:25:26] were told that they were in a trio. Mallory was put on the block. Melody's response was, I need to distance myself. Lyric's response was also, I need to distance myself to some degree, but lyric didn't go around telling everyone about that. Uh, and instead got to a point where Mallory then won the veto and is now able to use her connection to Mallory to say, Hey, I am good with Mallory. I'm close with Mallory. And if you're worried about her, I can influence her to keep you safe,
[01:25:56] to keep you good. And that's way more valuable than somebody who has distanced themselves from that person. That doesn't do anything for me. If Melody was close to Mallory and was talking about how she can influence somebody who is now winning competitions, who is now potentially coming after people that you care about, uh, that I can help influence those people or this person. That's what's valuable, but that's not what Melody is. Yeah. I'm curious. So why, like, cause she's, you know, a game show host and she's a gamer.
[01:26:26] We were assuming that she wouldn't see Mallory, especially being the winner of the veto, being an asset. Um, I was very surprised that lyric was able to even to think to use this. Cause I don't really think of her necessarily as too super game savvy, but I thought it was very smart to, to use Mallory as a, as an asset here and their relationship as an asset moving forward, because we know he's not going to have power next week. We know that Mallory is saying to everybody that she's coming for D and rightfully so.
[01:26:55] And so it's super smart of lyric to be using Mallory and their friendship to protect her relationship with D. And I, I'm very surprised that Melody completely doesn't see this at all. She's just way too focused. And it feels like she's just got, it feels like she got the ick, you know what I mean? Like she got, she was like, with Mallory, she was just like, Oh, like, Oh yeah. And Mallory is just always on her, like talking to her all the time. And she's like, I just,
[01:27:23] let me do my thing. It's like, she's like her like little sister. So leave me alone. Let me be with my friends. Oh my God. I don't want you to like represent me. Yeah. Um, so, uh, there is a, there is a shift though here, uh, as the night progresses. And we're going to talk a lot about like the renom here. I'm going to try to lock down the renom and we'll, we'll start to wrap this up. Um, these early, uh, updates, there's a lot to get to. Um, so, uh, Yash,
[01:27:53] Lala and Taylor have multiple conversations through the night. Yash, of course, and Taylor are the two people left on the block for sure. Right now, they obviously have incentive to like work together against whoever the renom is. Uh, and try to work together to also influence who that renom could be so that the two of them can remain as safe as possible. Um, and so again, Taylor has been pushing this idea of Ashley or Barrett. Um, and that leans more Ashley than Barrett. Uh, but Lala, remember, doesn't like melody and is actually starting to push the idea.
[01:28:23] What about melody? Melody might be a good renom because nobody likes melody. Uh, Yash also pushing the idea of melody as a renom because he also thinks that melody could be a good person, uh, for them to go against. Um, and Taylor starts to come around to this idea as well as she starts to realize, hmm, melody might be easier to beat in a vote than Ashley. Ashley is more well-liked than melody. And by the end of their multiple conversations, they've kind of agreed to pitch melody, uh, to D.
[01:28:52] And this is interesting, of course, because, uh, you know, there, uh, Taylor had been pushing the Ashley plan. And, uh, and she's, you know, not many people are pushing that. Now they plan to push melody. Uh, so that's where they are. That's Yash, Taylor, and Lala. Now, can you remind me? I don't know if you'll know off the top of your head, who was melody was in which group for the returnees? Like who is she? Yash,
[01:29:22] melody, um, uh, Jason and. Oh, okay. Okay. And D's group. Okay. Yeah. It's, it's hard with like, with the people being safe. There's just so few people. And so I'd probably want to go for melody as well, but okay. Sorry. I just wanted to remember who was in which group. Yes. Oh, by the way, an interesting thought I had about the grouping stuff, because what,
[01:29:52] because Lyric talked about it. Um, multiple people talked about it. Uh, uh, Taylor talked about it. Um, and I thought, and Mallory talked about it too. The reasoning that D used, and I, again, I don't know how intentional this was, but it turned out to be really interesting and obviously not a repeatable strategy, but basically because there are only four people in each group and one of those people was safe.
[01:30:19] D's logic of nominating one from each group just sectioned off all of the players. So each person she nominated went, damn, I was one of three people eligible. So like, you know, for Mallory, it's like, Oh, it was me or Kamu or, I don't remember the other person in that group. Uh,
[01:30:47] but like it was just me or two other options. And so every single person that was nominated by D doesn't think there was a whole pool of 16 people. It was me. I was the one that was individual, individually singled out. It was, ah, I was one of three people. And she chose those two people over me. Uh, and nobody else was even eligible for that spot.
[01:31:13] And that significantly changes the equation of how you look at D for having nominated you. If you believe her reasoning, which they do. Uh, so that I think has been a significant part of why they're not blaming D nearly as much. And part of why Mallory is one of the few people that does because she's like, ah, but D could have and should have nominated Kamu, but didn't. And that means they're working together and I want to nominate them together.
[01:31:40] I definitely think that that is why Taylor isn't super mad at D. Um, because yeah, I think that she just is like, Oh, like she had to choose someone and almost like giving her some sympathy being like, you know, and it, you know, I don't want to make her feel bad about her decision. And so, um, yeah, I think that actually makes a lot of sense. I, I really, I can't wait to actually to hear whether or not she did this on purpose, because I do think it's pretty smart to not look like, Oh,
[01:32:08] I chose you out of like the whole lot because like whatever reason I don't like you or we're not working together when, whatnot. So yeah, if it was strategy, like that's like pretty top tier. So, um, Chuck Haley, Devins is in this conversation as well. And Kamu, this is like red corner, uh, minus D plus Devins, um, are having a conversation about the renom. Uh,
[01:32:34] and Chuck mentions that Lala is Rome's number one in the game. I really see Lala and Rome together, which is interesting because I haven't seen them really talk game. Uh, but they are really heavily linked together in the house. Um, and so the idea is pitched. Lala would make a great renom. so this is now, so Lyric off the board. He's not putting her up, but Lala still potentially on the board as a Rome ally. Uh,
[01:33:03] and the Kamu Haley Chuck group is starting to like this idea. Lala on the block makes a lot of sense. It helps weaken, um, Rome to some degree. And also Lala is really well liked. Now Lala would not be the target in this instance. In fact, Kamu has been thinking, you know, if Yash stays on the block, we might want to take Yash out. Uh, and so a fully separate thought process leads to the same conclusion,
[01:33:32] which is one we expected would happen. Now Haley Kamu and Chuck are agreeing. Yash might be a good person to take out. If he stays in the block, Devin's in this conversation, of course agrees. He also has had this thought. He agrees with this idea. Um, and so now that grouping as well is now looking at Yash if he stays up. And if I'm not mistaken, Drew even also had this thought. And so I'm like, this guy,
[01:33:59] he doesn't have any idea that the walls are closing in on him. Um, I mean, we have, he has some time still to come around and obviously depending on who is he sitting beside, um, he has quite a few conversations with Taylor or long conversation with Taylor about like who potentially should be sitting beside him. Um, and Taylor's also talked to other people about like who would be best for both Taylor and or herself and Yash to be sitting beside. And so Yash is in deep trouble. Um,
[01:34:28] so there's not that many people that he could sit beside that he might stay with. Yeah. Yash and Taylor don't are, are starting to not want Ashley on the block next to them because they're concerned that they can't beat them in a vote. They certainly will not want Lala on the block next to them. Uh, certainly Taylor even more so. Um, but if this group pitches to D that they want Lala on the block, it just gives D more ammunition to use in the future. She needs it. Um, to quickly run through, there's a funny moment with Angela in the bathroom and the, of the HOH, um,
[01:34:59] where she goes and hides in the bathroom, uh, when Kamu comes up there with D, uh, and there's some funny camera shots, uh, which is, which is great. Um, some condoms have gone missing. I mean, do you have a, are you on condom watch too, Taryn? Uh, I'm not on condom. I was somebody in that house is, uh, it was fine. Uh, at one point, uh,
[01:35:29] I thought this was funny. There's a moment, Rome talks about how, uh, he can, if warmed up properly and in the right conditions, uh, do some splits. So if you're a Kenzie fan, uh, Taryn, are you watching Love Island this season? Uh, yes, I have been on the Patreon. Yeah. Oh my goodness. Um, I love a Kenzie splits reference. Thank you for that. Um, so, uh, Yash tells Kamu,
[01:35:59] by the way, that he does believe D doesn't know the game again. Yash telling people, uh, genuinely that, um, that, uh, that he, that he believes that D is, is doing that. And he says he's, he is understanding of her going back on saying the group was safe. Um, and, uh, Mallory continues to tell people she thinks Haley is behind, behind the nomination. She tells us to bear it, um, Rome, uh, and Lyric. Like I said,
[01:36:26] they are doing their thing. They are locked in. They have a conversation about going to the final two together. Uh, and they're like, but then, but then I'd want you to win. No, I don't want you to win. No, you should win. Um, also, uh, with Rome being like, yeah, you know, like, uh, I wanted to do my bicep curls to see if like, you're going to notice my biceps. I'm like, it's so odd. I'm like, really? And she's like, I did.
[01:36:56] Uh, yeah. I mean, you got to give him this Rome's in good shape. Uh, but here's the thing. So many of them are talking about this in the, in the premiere. They all talked about being really fit, uh, and all that stuff. And they are backing that up. They are working out all the time. Uh, like all day at some, like at any point in the day, there's somebody working out, uh, after the veto competition, Mallory spent like the next like three hours, like, uh,
[01:37:26] in the gym, doing workouts, talking to people, trying to convince them to put up D. And then later in the night, she was still doing laps in the backyard. Um, and, uh, and the guys are working out in the morning. There's a lot of working out going on in this house. For sure. I wonder if Jason's actually works out that much or if he's just trying to have like an, in a connection. He said this would be part of his strategy. Uh, but, but I'm sure he also does, you know, generally work out as well. Um, so all of this happening.
[01:37:55] So we got the, the, the, the red corner is looking at Lala as the replacement. Now, um, Taylor Yash and Lala are now agreeing that they're going to pitch melody. Uh, and, um, and D has mentioned melody as arena. She's also mentioned Ashley as arena, but that was to Taylor, um, who was pitching it at the time. Finally, late into the night, Drew Barrett and D get a moment alone. And again,
[01:38:25] vibe shifts like, all right, we're alone finally. And they get to have a conversation. They get to talk. They are working together. They're doing really well. Uh, all of this great stuff. Um, but the key here is that D kind of drops an interesting thing on us, which we did not expect that. I did not expect too much. I really thought she was just telling Taylor what she wanted to hear.
[01:38:50] So I don't know if this came from Taylor's influence or if it was D's original idea in the first place, uh, or that's something that she was maybe now thinking about a lot. D tells them she wants to put up Ashley as the renom. No, I mean, I get it. Ashley doesn't have that many ties. I don't think she'll get any blowback. I think that anybody sitting beside Ashley will probably, uh, go. Um, and Ashley would probably stay.
[01:39:19] So I can understand that she, you know, it could be someone that you put up there. She didn't play in those competitions. So like, she's kind of a little bit of like, uh, you know, it's kind of going with like that logic of like one from each air or trio or, you know, trio, but available three, or there are an available to kind of, um, but I don't want Ashley to go there. I want melody to go up there. Uh, she's thinking, she says that she's thinking, Ashley, uh,
[01:39:49] Ashley has a bit more influence in the house than melody does. She's I think, uh, I think basically the idea is, um, the reverse of what Taylor Yash and Lala were talking about, which is that, um, D and Barrett and drew don't really want the renom to go. Uh, and melody would probably go if she went up on the block, Ashley, they would keep, um,
[01:40:16] because Yash would in fact be their primary target. Um, but, they would likely keep Ashley over Taylor. Uh, and, um, that's just, I think they, they talked a little bit about like, they like Taylor, but they have seen her be a little more active, uh, uh, lately. And, um, think, you know, that's somebody who could potentially become more of a threat leader. And I don't disagree with them. Um, but, uh, but that's, this is, you know,
[01:40:46] what the, uh, the, the ideas are, are percolating. Um, so, uh, what's interesting about this is that I would say, okay, D is looking at Ashley. Taylor was pitching Ashley, you know, putting up Ashley isn't really going to piss many people off. I think this will make a lot of sense. However, we now know that Taylor is, is changed her mind and she wants to pitch melody instead. And so if Taylor was the initial, uh, influence that got D thinking this in the first place,
[01:41:15] if she goes back and changes her mind and pitches melody, that could theoretically change the back over to melody, especially if it's not super important. Um, and melody is the better option. I think for Taylor to be on the block, she is a lot more likely to go over her than Ashley seemingly would be, but who knows where the actual votes would fall. Um, so we have that. Then we also again have the Lala pitch.
[01:41:42] I doubt the Lala pitch will work because by putting Lala on the block, you kind of piss Taylor off, um, and Lala and, you know who, and the Osh will feel like by putting Lala up, you're telling Taylor and Yash, you want one of them gone. Um, probably, uh, by putting Ashley up, you kind of get best of both worlds where, um, you can take one of them out without pissing them off because it's, it doesn't look that bad unless they're able to pitch it well enough.
[01:42:12] Um, and while still like maintaining your goal by putting melody up, you're probably, not pissing anybody off, but you're also probably just sending her home and she's, not that much of a threat to you right now. In fact, potentially useful to you considering her connection to drew. Uh, so who knows where things will go, but that's basically where we left off. Ooh. Woo is right. Um, I'm actually really happy that we've talked it through. Cause like,
[01:42:41] I've actually understood, like I wrote notes, like there was so many conversations going on, trying to remember all of his names, but actually finally coming back to where we belong here to talk about the season. I, I have a lay of the land now and I know what's going on a little bit better and it's going to be helped me enjoy the season even more. So thank you for everything, Taryn. Woo. Yes. I, I, I was thinking like, cause I usually, the first few updates are more general and less play by play. And I was like, why do I do that?
[01:43:10] What if I did some play by play? And now, uh, like over 90 minutes. And I'm like, that's, that's why that's why we should maybe do a little more generalized, uh, to start. That's probably why. Uh, good idea. Bad idea. Me from present. I think it was really helpful though. Like people really understand like the flow of like the, the day and how people are working together. So I think it really worked well. So. Yes. Uh, well, hopefully it was informative. Hopefully. Cause I do genuinely think that we have a pretty decent lay of the land right now.
[01:43:40] Um, which is pretty different from recent seasons. Like this very much. So is feeling like a more regular, uh, again, textbook version of how big brother can be and should kind of be played if you want to do it well. Um, so, uh, so I'm very interested to see, um, if this really like dominant grouping is going to succeed because they are in a very good position.
[01:44:08] Not only are they in power right now, do the first HOH, um, which, which really like if this week actually does land in the way that it's looking like should, should forever settle the first HOH debate. Um, not that there should be really one in the first place, but, uh, and, um, and, and, you know, I don't want to prognostic. I don't want to like, uh, I don't want to be like, uh, like, uh, too, too forward here, but, uh, but you know,
[01:44:38] Devins is talking about like, Oh, I'd love to have us win the next HOH and really lock things in. It's like, yeah, because if they did, things would probably be pretty locked in. Um, so, uh, they're playing well, they're playing well in there and, uh, and we'll see where things go. Um, a different HOH shaking things up would be, I think probably a bit more fun, but, uh, but that it's too early to talk like that. Let's enjoy, let's enjoy the, the locking in first. Uh,
[01:45:08] and I think we have, like I said, a pretty solid foundation of, uh, of where things stand and where things might go. Yeah. I think what I like about it is that everybody's kind of playing from the beginning. It's, there's not a lot of people necessarily being like, Oh, I don't want to lock into early or like, you know, there's not a lot of people kind of pussyfooting around, like playing the game. And I think that that's what's making it for me really enjoyable is that like, I love the strategy. I love the talking. I love the conversations. Like this is what I'm here for.
[01:45:37] And we're right into it right away. And so, yeah, I think this is a really great start, really fun. First, uh, update for me. And so I'm really looking forward to the rest of the season. Yes. All right. Well, that is what we have then for today. Um, so, uh, today on the feeds, it's going to be mostly, I think the thing to look for is, uh, the pitch to D for melody to go on the block from Lala Taylor. Yash. Um,
[01:46:06] they did say not to coordinate exactly what they were saying and pitching, uh, because they didn't want to seem like a unified front there. Uh, so we'll see exactly how that goes. And if that changes these mind in any way, um, I don't see there being a lot of defense for Ashley as much as more pushes for melody. So, uh, that does keep Ashley as like a pretty attractive option. I think that like nobody will defend her, but nobody's pushing for her. That's kind of like as an HOH,
[01:46:35] that's usually like what you want when it comes to a target. Like you're not doing people's dirty work, but you're also not pissing people off. Uh, but we'll see. Um, we'll also see what happens with the comma with the red corner pushing Lala. I really don't think that will go much of anywhere. Uh, no ceremony today. Uh, at least that's typically how it would work. So, um, we'll just kind of see where things evolve with the replacement nominee talk. Uh, and then, uh, tomorrow morning I'll be there. I'll be here.
[01:47:05] 11 a.m. Eastern. I'll update you on everything that happens. There will be an episode tonight. I think it's going to be another 90 minute one. Um, I will be streaming Twitch, YouTube, and Patreon. Patreon is the best place. My Patreon, uh, for the stream, you get to watch along with me. It's very fun. I'm also watching Love Island over there. Uh, there's a couple of episodes that I got to wrap up at some point, uh, for, uh, to finish it out, but, um, check all of that out. Uh, and of course we'll be back here with the recap tonight. Uh,
[01:47:34] and it's going to be a good time. So check all of that out. Chantel, what are you up to? What am I up to? I actually just want to comment. Someone in the chat earlier on was asking if I was on an episode of Fatal Vows. I was, it was me, the thin blue line. This was many years ago. Um, I was playing Linda Yancey who, you know, had an untimely demise by the hands of their husband. Um, so yes, that you did spot me. That was me. Um,
[01:48:01] but what I'm doing is I've been talking with Chappelle for the last little over a year about bringing me into my journey and knowledge and understanding of the world of, uh, Tiffany Pollard and flavor of love. So we watched flavor of love season one, season two. I love New York. We just finished charm school and we've now dived into rock of love season one. So I have not seen any of these shows.
[01:48:28] We've been talking about it on recap kickback and we usually been doing Sunday school this week. We had to miss Sunday school because, um, Chappelle is away, but we will be back to talk about episode two of rock of love. So it's been a time to join us. All right. Well, there we go then. Thank you so much for joining us today. I will see all of you tomorrow or tonight or just next time. Yeah.
