Big Brother 28 houseguests are caught in a web of shifting alliances and growing mistrust as Kamuβs backdoor plan sets off tensions at a so-called βtea party.β Host Taran Armstrong leads todayβs recap episode, joined by guest Scally, to break down a day full of strategy, awkward confrontations, and vote-flipping attempts.
On Day 20 in the BB28 house, Kamu sits as Head of Household with Lyric, Lala, and Mallory as his original nominees. After Lyric wins the Veto and plans to save herself, Kamu targets Jason as his backdoor replacement β a move he wants to justify with a dramatic house callout at a tea party. The event, meant as a lighthearted snack break, quickly turns into an uncomfortable confrontation about broken promises and shifting alliances. Meanwhile, Drew and Yash try to sway votes to keep Mallory in a Jason Blockbuster win scenario, while Dee, Devens, and Angela debate whether itβs smarter to evict Mallory or Lala if Jason saves himself. Throughout all of this, the cast navigates the messy aftermath of Kamuβs public speech, leaving Jason isolated and sparking side conversations about loyalty and gameplay.
- Taran Armstrong explains Kamuβs reasoning behind the public callout and how itβs more about ostracizing Jason than honest gameplay.
- Scally notes Deeβs subtle influence as she cools tensions between Angela and the other vets and keeps alliance options open.
- Drew and Yash form a tight mini-alliance, but their push to keep Mallory fizzles when Kamu and key players resist flipping the vote.
- Haley makes a strong push to evict Lala instead of Mallory, using logic around competition threats and the gender balance in jury.
- Awkward moments abound as the tea party derails, with Jason left alone and others avoiding even basic comfort.
Right now, the majority power group risks punching down as vote intrigue sways and social bonds fray. Will Kamuβs dramatic strategy ruin his game, or is someone else setting up for a bold move next? Listen in for all the details and find out whatβs really brewing in the Big Brother 28 house.

[00:00:10] Taran Armstrong, Toxic Brother, Looking at the stuff from yesterday. All the drama, all the strategy, and silliness from Fido to HOA. You know he is the reason, you know what's happened. Rob said that he could do it, tomorrow he will do it again.
[00:00:43] Hello everyone and good morning. Welcome to our live feed update for July 27th. I'm your host, Taran Armstrong, and I'm here to update you on everything that happened yesterday on the Big Brother 28 live feeds. It was day 20 in the house and we had a nice little tea party.
[00:01:08] Some little snacks, some balloons, a good old time that, you know, was interrupted by some other things. Big drama! We have big drama to talk about today and with me to talk about the big drama is Scali. How you doing Scali? I'm good, Taryn. You know for a minute you think, okay, I'm just gonna come in here and we talk about them drinking tea.
[00:01:36] I'm gonna talk about them eating sandwiches. Not so much. We are going through it today. Not as much as some people are going through it in the house, but lots of things to go through. Yes, yes, yes, yes. If you haven't heard, there was quite the confrontation, some fallout, and some more intrigue when it comes to a potential vote as well. There is truly a lot to talk about here, so we're gonna get straight into it.
[00:02:05] As you know, Kamu is the HOH. He nominated Lala, Lyric, and Mallory. Lyric won the veto. She will be taking herself off the block. Jason plans, sorry, Kamu plans to replace her with Jason. That has, for the record, always been the plan. However, Kamu is somebody that doesn't like people knowing his plans, I guess. An important piece to set up here.
[00:02:33] Last week, when Devins was the HOH and he was going to re-nominate Rome after the veto ceremony, Kamu came up to Devins and pitched him on the idea of,
[00:02:48] Hey, how about you pretend like the only reason you're doing this to Rome is because of what he said after the nomination ceremony? Remember, Devins did this whole big spiel at the nomination ceremony and all this crying and what Rome was doing.
[00:03:11] And then, Hey, I wasn't planning to, I was planning to stick to the deal until Rome, you got all mad that I called you out at the nomination ceremony. And now I have no choice because you made me do this to you. And Devins essentially was like, Nah, that's fine. This is pretty straightforward what I'm going to do and I don't need to make an excuse. I mean, what he told Kamu was, Oh, that's a great idea. He just didn't, he didn't use the idea.
[00:03:41] Um, uh, so this like, this is, I think something that is very relevant to what is going to happen here today, because it is something that Kamu has already like processed. It's something that he clearly is inclined to do, which is, uh, something that is pretty common in the big brother house, unfortunately. And, and, and, and common in real life as well.
[00:04:09] Uh, that, you know, if you do something to someone is, is you don't have to feel bad about it. You just make it their fault. And that is the thing, especially on these shows, people love feeling like things are their fault. They love hearing about how much, uh, they cause their own demise. So, um, you know, be damned if there's a blockbuster or if God forbid, you know, the votes flip or whatever else is the case.
[00:04:37] Uh, yeah, definitely just make them feel even worse about it. It's going to go swimming. Yeah. Um, it's really, uh, you know, it's, it's really like an unfortunate and, and I genuinely think like not great inclination for players in general.
[00:04:55] Um, I think that like, there's, there's basically been one like standout, uh, example of somebody doing this strategically in a way that made sense for them. Of course, very famously Vanessa in season 17 loved her reasons. Um, and, uh, and by reasons we mean excuses to nominate people.
[00:05:22] Again, the biggest example being Jeff, when she was HOH, uh, early on in the season, she wanted to target big Jeff from the amazing race. And, uh, not the other one, not the other big Jeff. Uh, but, uh, but she was like, I need reasons. I need a reason. And, uh, and Austin was like, what do you mean? Why do you need reasons? Chill. Um, uh, but, but Vanessa did so in such a strategic way in the sense that she was very actively trying to do it.
[00:05:52] To avoid the other side of the house, recognizing that she was such a strategic player. She was seen as a bit of an emotional wreck at the time. And she didn't want the other side of the house to recognize that she was taking a shot, that she was going to war and that she was strategic. So she came up with an emotional reason that everyone bought into crazy Vanessa, uh, makes this move. And the other side was tricked into believing that that was basically the case.
[00:06:20] Um, so, uh, so there are some ways to kind of go about this, not to say that it's like a perfect way that Vanessa did or that, uh, that like there aren't any problems with it. But, uh, but for the most part, um, this idea of like reasons is very separate from the idea that is much more common, which is everyone knows what's happening. You're just trying to make it the fault of the person that you're targeting.
[00:06:51] Uh, like we were already planning to do this and everyone knows it, but we're all still going to collectively make the person you're doing it to feel like it was their fault. Uh, and this is what Kamu wants. Um, and I'm talking about all of this right away because this is basically the start of the day.
[00:07:14] Kamu is talking to D about wanting to find this excuse to put Jason on the block. He's been talking about this for the last couple of days, but now he's really honing it and putting it into focus and workshopping exactly how he wants to do it. And it turns out there's a tea party that's being planned for tonight. Uh, Mallory, uh, she, she wants to put together a tea party.
[00:07:41] Uh, and, um, and so they're all going to get together and, uh, and Kamu wants to take the opportunity of the tea party to give a big grand speech about Jason. And he just needs to figure out exactly what that speech is going to be, what he's going to call out with Jason, how he's going to make it Jason's fault that Jason is going on the block. And so this is how we start the day. Yeah.
[00:08:08] Why call a house meeting when there's already a house party planned? I mean, you know, the most popular person at any party, the one that just kills the vibe completely starts arguments. It's definitely, uh, completely a flawless. Yes. Um, now you might already know, cause we have already talked about it.
[00:08:30] The primary piece of evidence that, uh, Kamu wants to use is this idea that when he talked to Jason about Jason, not going on the block. And I'm just going to, I'm going to again, restate the facts of what happened. And Kamu, who from the start intended to nominate Jason right away, then changed his plan to backdooring Jason, approached Jason and said, I do not. I'm not going to be nominating you today.
[00:09:00] And Jason said, Oh my God, thank you so much. I really thought I was going to be nominated and targeted. And Kamu said, work on your relationships. And Jason said, now that I'm not being targeted this week and nominated, this is going to be this. I can actually have the space to do that. Thank you so much. I'm so grateful. And then Kamu was like, Oh, he's so grateful. Let me take the opportunity. Well, if you win the veto, like, uh, you're going to help. You're going to do what I want with it. Right?
[00:09:29] Like, uh, like that's how you can thank me for not nominating you. Now, of course there's nothing wrong with this. Kamu knows that he's lying. He knows that he's taking advantage of somebody who's grateful for something that he shouldn't be grateful for, considering that it's worse to be backdoored than to be put on the block straight up, which is why Kamu was doing it in the first place. Um, and Jason says, of course, I'm willing to work with you on whatever happens with the veto.
[00:09:55] We know from the episode last night that Jason pretty quickly realized, Oh, this was fake. This was a ploy. Uh, he's not nominating me, not because he wants to give me space to work on my relationships and he doesn't want to target me, but in fact, because he does want to target me and he doesn't want me having a chance to play in the veto. Um, so in Jason's mind, that deal is null and void. Uh, and he can do whatever he wants with the veto. So he probably could have done whatever he wants with the veto in the first place.
[00:10:22] Um, from Kamu's perspective, he's confused. Why did Lala choose Jason to play in the veto? Well, according to when he talked to Taylor, Taylor was like, well, he must have, he must have promised Lala he was going to use the veto on her. Why else would Lala pick him for the veto? It's like, but he told me that he wouldn't use the veto. So what's up with that? And so now Kamu's like, ha, I caught him. I caught him in a lie. I caught him in a broken deal.
[00:10:53] Jason promised me he wouldn't use the veto, but now he's going around promising the nominees that he's going to use the veto on them. So he's going to spend the day talking to a few more of the nominees. He talks to Mallory, uh, and I'm skipping ahead a little bit, but he talks to Mallory and he asks her, did Jason promise to use the veto on you? She says yes, because Jason was planning to use the veto on Mallory. Uh, boom, caught him. Here we go.
[00:11:23] This is the perfect thing to call Jason out on in front of everyone. Um, it's, it's clear as day. He broke his word. He gave me his word. Now were the circumstances in which he gave me his word unfavorable to him? Sure. But we don't need to, we don't need to focus on that. He gave me his word. He broke his word. That's why he's going on the block. That's why nobody should associate with him. That's why even if he wins the blockbuster, nobody should be aligned with him.
[00:11:52] Nobody should talk to him. Um, and, uh, and this is Kamu's plan. Yeah. Hmm. I found a reason to nominate someone. I want to tell them I'm going to nominate them. If only there was a meeting during the week in which I could tell someone I'm going to nominate them, give them all the reasoning as to why I'm going to do so and make it clear that they're my target. Yeah.
[00:12:14] You know, I mean, I think that the go and build relationships, less a gift, more of an ominous, not threat, but like you're going to need those relationships a little bit later this week when the votes start coming in. I will say to be fair to that point, uh, this is the show's the show does not allow you to create good moments in the ceremonies. It's so scripted. Like all the best moments come outside of the ceremonies, except for when they brute force them in like last week in the nominations.
[00:12:46] Um, but, uh, so he's workshopping this idea with D. D's primary concern here, of course, is, uh, don't get me involved. Yeah. D immediately is like, I don't think this is a good idea. You know what? Actually, you don't involve me. Great idea. Perfect. Actually. Yeah. That's the only caveat. Um, so, uh, in this conversation though, she's going to drop more seeds about drew.
[00:13:13] Um, the true is working with everyone, of course. Uh, and, uh, Kamu tells her that he feels closest with her and devins over anyone, certainly over drew, uh, but even over Haley and Chuck. Um, and, uh, she said, Oh, wow. Thank you so much. Um, of course, after, after this conversation, she talks to the cameras and she says, Kamu thinks I'm stupid. He thinks I believe he's closer to me and devins than Haley and Chuck. Come on, Kamu.
[00:13:43] But she does still like him as an ally and wants to bring him far. Yeah. That's the thing. Okay. Maybe I'm not going to buy into every single thing, but like, I can trust that he is 75% of the way straight up versus everyone else. I have no idea of what percentage. Hmm. Uh, Kamu is, uh, he was advised not to go to drew with the plan, uh, but he does go to devins with the tea party plan.
[00:14:11] Devins is like, I love it. Let's let's go, go ahead. Uh, please do whatever you want to damage your game. Essentially. Uh, and, uh, and make good TV and chaos and all of it. Uh, Devin's a hundred percent on board. Yeah. Yeah. He's good with it. And Kamu doesn't want to tell too many people because he wants genuine reactions at this tea party. I'm not telling Chuck. I'm not telling Haley. I'm not telling the house because I want people.
[00:14:41] Oh my God. Thank you. Kamu. Cause that's going to happen. I think I genuinely, I, I it's, I'm pretty sure I remember Kamu saying he was a Dan Giesling fan. Um, and I'm, I definitely saw some like wannabe Dan kind of DNA in this, uh, between the, I want genuine reactions. Of course, famously Dan to Danielle.
[00:15:09] I couldn't tell you cause I needed you to react correctly. Um, and, uh, and even like the way he starts off his speech once we get there, very like, like, uh, wannabe Dan coded. Yep. Uh, in the meantime, Taylor is going to talk more with Kamu about her proposed alliance, the Tethers Alliance. Uh, not really strictly named that, but that's kind of, I think what we're calling it moment.
[00:15:38] Um, we talked plenty about this yesterday. Uh, she, uh, she's like really, she, like she came with like a binder and a business plan and a present, like a PowerPoint presentation. Uh, she's, and we knew that this was her in the preseason, right? Like, uh, her whole, like whatever it was called. Um, and so now she, she's like, all right, then we're going to make this happen. Um, we just need to make sure we got our pillars of priority in place.
[00:16:08] Uh, we got to have faith in each other. We got to, uh, discretion is important. And, uh, and number three, be mindful of your mouth, your mind and your mess. Uh, and Kamu was like that. Just give me one tea party first. Yeah. Yeah. Here's the thing. The rules are don't tell anyone about the Alliance. Um, be a good roommate and yeah, be smart. Okay. So meeting adjourned.
[00:16:36] I like the effort. Um, entertainment wise. I'm behind it. Strategically. I have questions. I think it best, but you know, this episode is brought to you by Google. FX is the shards premieres August 5th on FX and Hulu. So Kamu continues through his day. He talks to Mallory, as I said, D talks to Angela.
[00:17:56] And remember from the night before D Angela and Devins talked to the pool table where Angela pitched to Devins and D that she revealed the crossovers to Haley, Chuck and Kamu. And Devins was like, no, no, no, no, no. We don't. We don't want to do that. And then she was like, but what happens when we go after Drew soon? And it's all exposed anyway. And he goes, oh, soon? I don't know about that either.
[00:18:26] I mean, we can't afford to lose them quite yet. Obviously, eventually. And D backed him up all throughout that conversation. We were, I was a little bit curious as to where Angela would fall on that, especially considering in addition to that, Angela seemed inclined to want to keep Mallory over Lala in the event that Jason wins the blockbuster. And of course, Devins and D were on the opposite side of that page as well.
[00:18:55] So basically, all of that gets cleared up immediately in this conversation. Angela is, she's like, I was thinking about it. I'm willing to back down on the Drew stuff for now. I think that what you guys said makes sense. Um, and when they talked about the vote, Angela says that she's willing to vote out Mallory over Lala as well.
[00:19:19] So, uh, no friction amongst the vets and, uh, and a bad, bad start for Mallory in the day with Angela backing down because Angela was probably her biggest advocate or at least the advocate that had the most sway to potentially keep her over Lala. Uh, and all of a sudden all those votes I had stacked yesterday, uh, could very easily crumble. Yeah. It was really interesting. The Angela and D conversation.
[00:19:47] Cause I do think you see some of these magic here, even where Angela starts it of like, but I don't want to get rid of Mallory. And like D trust me, like she would never say things like she's targeting you. Like that's just not how she talks to D being like, yeah, but like you would never get rid of your best friend Lala. You're going to be friends for life out of here. And Angela's like, yeah, of course I would never get rid of Lala, never get rid of Lala. Of course I will get rid of Mallory over Lala. So, you know, it shifted within one conversation pretty quickly. I love your Angela.
[00:20:17] I think it's perfect. The inflection is very much, uh, important in the Angela. Yes. Yes. Um, so yeah. Uh, and interestingly enough, also in this conversation, um, when I say Angela is like willing to cool off on drew a little bit, uh, only in the, I'm going after him immediately sense. She's perfectly happy to later in the night, tell Chuck to go after drew. Who's very willing to do it.
[00:20:45] Um, which actually makes way more sense by the way. Um, and, uh, she's also still like, I'm starting to wonder if that information drew brought us about Jason. Is that really true anymore? I even, I don't even know. Um, another interesting note, uh, D mentions it in this conversation that she's actually warming back up to Barrett. Um, and this is something that is, I would say been very like, like there were a little
[00:21:15] hints of it the day before and then throughout the day today that we're, the day we're talking about, uh, kind of like quickly reheats. Uh, they're like bantering again. They're hanging out again. Uh, I'm not exactly sure what sparked this. Uh, but, uh, but, but B is back on the menu a little bit here. Uh, maybe not quite as, as like promising as it was before, but, uh, but the, the relationship is like, uh, back, back on for now.
[00:21:45] Yeah. I do love that Jason literally admitted to everything that drew said, but Angela's hatred of drew has blinded her so much that that actually never happened anymore. Uh, for D and Barrett, I do think it helps that D can tell when Barrett is looking at Kamu, he just hates him. And so I think that even if they have to eventually get rid of drew sooner or later, maybe who knows then, uh, okay. Barrett would still side with us over the other side of this big pool shed Alliance. So that is helpful.
[00:22:15] Yeah. And, and honestly, if I, my bit, my best guess as to what, as to how this started to happen, uh, is that Barrett has just been hanging out with drew less. They, I mean, they made their final two when they were hanging out together a bunch and now they're like, they've separated a little bit more. Uh, and so this is really the stink of drew is not getting on Barrett as much anymore. And it's so funny because early in the game, I was like this Barrett D thing is bad for both
[00:22:45] of them. Um, but then after it stopped, Barrett didn't go anywhere else, but Mallory and I'm now and, and, and it got to the point where I was like, okay, Barrett, I didn't realize that was everything you had go back to D that's better for you than nothing. Um, and so I do think it's good for Barrett to go back to D if he can, uh, at this point. Uh, so we'll see where all that goes.
[00:23:12] Um, speaking of the Mallory vote though, uh, as I said, a lot of potential votes for people who might want Mallory to stay drew, uh, amongst them and drew being one of the more active players in the house right now is going to start making a bit of a push to keep Mallory. Um, unfortunately doesn't really go anywhere. Uh, he talks to Kamu and Kamu was like, no, like,
[00:23:39] Kamu's one of the more steadfast people in taking Mallory out. Uh, and of course, again, just to remind you when we're talking about Mallory staying or going, we're talking about only the situation where Jason wins the blockbuster. Uh, Jason is still everyone's main target. Uh, there's not much, there's like a tiny bit of like, should we keep Jason? No, no, we shouldn't. Um, so, uh, Jason winning the blockbuster is a requirement for all of this vote intrigue.
[00:24:07] Like Mallory versus Lala is what they're talking about. Um, and, uh, and Kamu is very like puts his foot down. No, Mallory needs to go over Lala. He is right now, Devin's and Angela, uh, Devin, Devin's and these, uh, sort of biggest advocate for what they want here. Uh, because Mallory leaving is very good for them. Um, once Kamu basically puts his foot down, uh, Drew and Yash, Yash who had been on board
[00:24:34] to keep Mallory as well, because Drew, um, I guess it's worth pointing this out. Drew and Yash are becoming their own little mini duo right now enough. So that Taylor was like, you know, Yash is, uh, Drew's Heather. Um, Drew has really pulled Yash in with this idea of the Dapper Dans and that they are chaos agents and they're, they're people who are free agents floating in the middle, uh, playing
[00:25:02] to each side, keeping both sides strong so that they go at each other. And, uh, and it really plays very well into Yash's idea of what it means to be a good player. And so, uh, Drew is, is basically just like dragging Yash along with him at every whim. Like, Hey Yash, we should totally do this because it makes sense because then it will keep the sides like this and then we'll be able to play the middle. And Yash is like, yeah. And then he's like, Hmm, actually we're going to have to go over here. And Yash is like, yeah.
[00:25:31] Um, and so that's basically where they're at. And so they talk afterward about this Kamu situation. They would love to keep Mallory. That's better for their games, but it's not worth burning, uh, Kamu. And that's where they kind of stand at this point. Yeah. Yash just wants to be a bro. And Drew as a chameleon, according to D and Angela can be a bro. He can get that going. And so, uh, that all works well and good. I mean, when Drew is having conversations, not like super openly, but has talked about
[00:26:00] like, it would be kind of cool if Mallory won HOH and like took a shot at some of those people that we can't take a shot at, that wouldn't be absolutely horrible. Uh, I mean, I guess, you know, Kamu actually recognizing that. That actually would not be good for him as one of the people that she might take a shot at. Yes. So the melody or sorry, the Mallory vote is, uh, is very quickly starting to, uh, to shrivel up here.
[00:26:26] Um, and again, uh, I'm not going to try to move all the faces, uh, right now, but like most people kind of want to keep Mallory, but it's just kind of dying on a vine because a couple of key powerful people don't. Uh, which is interesting. It's how, it's how the game, the end of the game tends to go. I loved in the Kamu Mallory conversations when Mallory is concerned over whether or not she's going to stay this week.
[00:26:52] And Kamu is very clearly like, uh, over Lala, I don't have a vote. I couldn't possibly say how this would go over. Jason, you're safe. Absolutely. 100% safe. There's no problem at all. But Lala, I am out of this. Good luck. So, yes. So, uh, there was a lot of talk yesterday about, uh, Devins and the Taylor pitch for
[00:27:21] the tethers, how Devins did not tell D about it. Is this an indication that he might actually be considering it? I said on the update yesterday that, uh, in my opinion, it was just because they had more pressing things to talk about, uh, that night. And it seems as though that is in fact the case when he does get a chance to talk to D, uh, on the feeds, uh, and they were talking about yesterday. Uh, he tells her, oh yeah.
[00:27:50] And there was this whole thing with Taylor. She pitched this tethers alliance. She said, you and Angela are running the house. Uh, and, uh, and so on and so forth. Um, so this has in fact been told. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, God forbid drew brought it up a day late. Like Taylor's planning this thing where there's five sides of the house and one person. Like I can't even believe he would try to make this up. So this doesn't even sound like something Taylor would do. Exactly.
[00:28:19] Why is he in the room with me right now? Social capital can go a long way. Um, all right. So, uh, Kamu starts rehearsing. Uh, he's got a whole speech planned. He's, he's rehearsing it. Um, and I mean, let me tell you it's long. It's, it's long. Uh, it's very long.
[00:28:49] Hmm. Yep. It's going to be talked about and talked about and talked about. And we're just going to, you know, uh, try to do a little bit of a setup. As you said, we'll see how well that goes. Yes. Drew talks to D and Devins, uh, and says, yeah, it's, it is looking like the vote is leaning against Mallory here. It seems like at this point in the day, uh, drew has, has pretty much backed down. Uh, devins and D obviously want this.
[00:29:17] Uh, Angela has backed down, uh, with drew came Yash. And just like that, the votes have just crumbled for Mallory to stay, uh, until hold on. We forgot. There's one more person who's very, uh, who's feels very strongly about how this vote should go. But this person is not pro Mallory. They're just anti Lala. And that person is Haley.
[00:29:46] Uh, Haley really wants Lala to go. She really does not like Lala. And so she talks to Drew and to Yash and starts talking about how Lala should go. And Drew is like, hold on. There's hope. There is somebody I can use. There's somebody, there's a person actually pushing this. Hold on. We might actually make this happen.
[00:30:15] Let's do this. Yeah. A ally in the least suspected of places right now, but you know what? Everyone else is saying no. So if I can push this person to even start nudging in that direction, then that would be great. Yes. Uh, so, uh, so drew back on board. To at least try. Um, and of course we can't forget about Barrett himself.
[00:30:41] Uh, I kind of have because he doesn't really push much, but he starts to push all of a sudden Barrett who obviously should have no desire to lose Mallory, uh, should have been really involved in the first place. Um, but he starts pitching to Devens as well. Uh, I don't want to get rid of Mallory. Are you kidding me? Mallory is like the only person I have outside of the tool shed and I'm at the bottom of the tool shed.
[00:31:10] Uh, like what are we doing here? Devens tries to redirect by saying, wow, we got the dapper dance. That's kind of like the thing. Um, and eventually might have to be the thing. And, uh, and you know, they talk a little bit more about that. Barrett's, uh, talking about like how disconnected he feels again. Barrett trusts Devens far too much. He talks about like, we can't let Angela run this game. Um, and, uh, and stuff like that.
[00:31:38] Now, uh, Devens does keep this mostly to himself again for now. I do think that Devens is not going to be like blurting out to Angela that, that Barrett's talking about her given her current situation. I think Devens knows not to, uh, to go too far there, but, um, but, uh, but yeah, interesting conversation. And again, uh, another sort of obstacle in the road for Devens to have a clean Mallory
[00:32:07] eviction here. Yeah. Tough argument when Barrett's saying basically, if I don't have Mallory, I'll be completely reliant on you guys. Well, that sounds great to me personally. So, uh, and it's basically talked about as much. I can think of times in which I had heard D specifically saying like, okay, Barrett might not be happy, but like, whoops, there goes Mallory. Not my problem. Uh, I don't think that that is going to be super motivating for anyone else that you get to keep your cover. Unfortunately. Yes.
[00:32:35] So we continue through the day. Haley lets Kamu know that Drew, despite her wanting Lala to go, uh, the fact that Drew also wants that is sketchy. Um, and so she warns, uh, Kamu like, Hey, Drew's trying to get rid of Mallory or sorry, keep Mallory. Um, and, uh, and Kamu's like, he pushes back more on Haley than he usually does with D, um, probably because Haley is way more overt about it.
[00:33:04] Um, but, uh, but he's like, well, like, what do you even mean? Like, what is sketchy about Drew? Give me an example. She's like, well, you heard about the four seasons. He hadn't heard about the four seasons. Um, and so, uh, she tells him about the four seasons. He's going to talk to Drew about it later. It's not a major thing, but, uh, you know, it's just, it's, it's more again, trying to erode this relationship between Kamu and Drew is pretty important for, uh, the entire
[00:33:34] direction of where the vets want this game to go. And Haley is now also acting as an agent in that process. Yeah. I do think it's going to be a little tough. I don't think that Kamu like wants to feel like he's been directed in any sort of way, especially. So even as you're doing it, he's probably going to consciously or subconsciously push back on that. But, uh, so I do suspect it might take, uh, evicting one of them to ultimately end this,
[00:34:00] but I think there is a world in which it becomes at least like I'm willing to let this person go, but without too much of a fight, not that he will do it by any means himself. So we start getting ready for the tea party. Uh, it's, it's been pushed back. It's been pushed back. Uh, it doesn't happen during, they had originally planned it for like during the episode. It's pushed back, uh, further and further until it's until it finally starts during the podcast,
[00:34:29] by the way, which, uh, Jason is still, uh, not respecting our podcasting time because he is currently banging teapots, uh, apparently. Um, but, uh, they get ready for it. Uh, drew and Barrett, uh, uh, get all dolled up in dresses, um, for the tea party. They get very pretty. Yeah. All at the same time. I'm like, can we put on heels? Can we do a death drop? Like, please anything?
[00:34:59] Um, come on, come on, step it up. We have a drag queen. Let us bring you a drag. That's true. I will say for, uh, for having a drag queen in their midst, uh, I guess this was pretty vanilla. Um, but, uh, listen, they've got balloons. Sure. They're condoms, but they were also balloons. It is. And Jason's getting excited for the party.
[00:35:29] He's like, look, I brought balloons. If they're distasteful, I can move them. We can get rid of them, but they are balloons. Uh, they do a little runway, uh, drew and Barrett, um, in the dresses. They're having a great time. They're talking about soaking. Uh, it's a great, it's a grand old party. Hey, everything is going swimmingly. Not a single person could ruin this.
[00:35:57] Uh, and it won't be awkward at all that drew and Barrett are sitting in dresses that barely cover their crotch in three minutes. I'm sure. So, they're hanging around, hanging out. It's, the party's been going for like a good, you know, 30, 40 plus minutes. Everyone's enjoying it. Uh, they're sitting around.
[00:36:20] They're like sharing, you know, uh, stories and they're chatting and they're talking about how fun it is. And, um, and, you know, we kind of get to a natural lull in the conversation and, uh, and Kamu goes, uh, all right. Well, oh, somebody else started talking. So, so, oh, well, no, I, I got you. No, no, you, you, you, you can go. He's like praying.
[00:36:50] Oh, did you want to, I don't know. I was just going to say something. Oh, no, that's, oh, that's, I'm not, I'll get out of your way. You can go. No, no, it's fine. It's, yeah. I mean, no, yeah, no, I, I just, you know, uh, so anyway. First of all, I wanted to say, like, this has been one of the coolest experiences of my life. And this is, again, this is like, he's trying to, he's trying to do like the funeral. You know what I mean?
[00:37:18] He's trying to be like, oh man, I love you all, but, oh, here we go. Yeah. Uh, and there's nobody else I'd want to experience this with than you guys. So let's, let's cheers. Let's cheers to that. Cheers. Cheers to that. Oh, everyone, everyone cheers. Also, I want to just publicly congratulate Lyric on winning the power of veto. Yeah, everyone. Oh, Lyric. Uh, let's go. Oh, thank you. She's did such a great job.
[00:37:47] Uh, oh yeah. And, and Mallory, you know, Mallory came in second. The runner up. Runner up. Yeah. It was painful. And I think at the point where someone interrupts your start, just be like, oh, actually, these are good sandwiches and move on. Like you got to plan a new party. It's not going to land. Give it up. I'm sorry. Like you, your moment was stepped on 80. It's never going to look iconic.
[00:38:17] Well, obviously though. So we, I have to address the elephant in the room. I have to put up a fourth nominee. So let's, let's address that a bit. You know, I, I came here to this game. I came here to play honest and open. And, and I want to play a game that my family and friends are proud of. You know, when I won HOH, I quickly realized it's a gift and it's a curse.
[00:38:45] And it's at this point that I'll spare you from the next 10 minutes of. Kamu going on and on about the gift and the curse of HOH and the story of how we got here. And how at one point in the game last week, the whole, the whole house blew up and there was all kinds of stuff that was going on. And, and, and Devin's did a thing.
[00:39:13] And then the whole thing blew up. And then at one point in time, Jason, my name got thrown out, thrown out. But you handled it like a man. So thank you, Jason, for turning that around. Thank you. Meanwhile, my friends, my friends are actively hanging out, asking where I am. I say, guys, hold on. I have to watch this really boring speech on the live feeds right now. This is, I got to do it. It's not entertaining.
[00:39:40] This is like, we're on the, we're on the recap podcast, by the way, like watching this go down. And like, there's a world where that's kind of fun, right? We're on a recap podcast. Big blow up happens. We're like, Whoa, what's happening? Like when it was the update manager was doing crazy eyes. It was like, Oh, this is all over the place.
[00:40:01] Uh, and instead I'm just watching Kamu just like, uh, and I'm like, what is that? Like, how am I supposed to, this is not good podcast. I had to start to change the topic. There was a call out happening in front of me and I had to talk about something else because nothing was happening. Um, it wasn't even fun to react to. Nope.
[00:40:29] Uh, so, uh, so he continues on, he continues on. Uh, it's like, uh, thank you for being there or for handling it like a man, but there is something I need to address. And then he spends the next like 10 minutes explaining that, uh, you know, when I won HOH, uh, back in my day when I won HOH, I, uh, I, I, I took myself all the way up into the HOH room. And I, I, I talked to every single nominee and I told them exactly what was happening.
[00:40:58] And I told them that they were going on the block because I play an open and honest game and they all thanked me. And, uh, and then I talked to Jason and Jason, I told you that I wasn't planning to nominate you that day. And you told me that you were so grateful and that you were, uh, so on and so forth. Uh, and then you said that you would not, that you would do what I wanted with the veto.
[00:41:23] And it turns out you then went around and you promised everyone on the block, all of the nominees that you would use the veto on them. You lied. You broke your word. Uh, and that that's no good. And Lala's like, he, he didn't promise me that he'd use the veto on me. Yep.
[00:41:49] Uh, I just want to jump in here to say that the premise of what you're saying is factually inaccurate to my reality. Like, Oh. Um, and Jason's like, yeah, I, I didn't promise Lala that I would use. What are you talking about? Uh, and, uh, he's like, well, but I, listen, I have, I've heard that you promised. The people look who, who's saying this. Dr. Mallory.
[00:42:17] Um, he says, Jason says, listen. All right. I talked to Angela and Haley about doing what you wanted with the veto. That was the entire premise of those conversations in Jason's mind. The only people who could have ratted him out here are Angela and Haley. He talked to Haley a lot, uh, in particular about his true plans. He's been talking to Haley a lot, uh, and, um, and, and all of this stuff.
[00:42:46] So he starts really like honing in on Haley, uh, initially. Um, and he says, uh, that's what I said. I wanted to do what you want. And now again, Jason is lying, right? Like he did tell, he did talk to Mallory. He talked to drew. He talked to plenty of people about, uh, what he maybe intended to do with the veto. But, uh, but he also kind of recognizes like after this, like, but also like, what are we even doing here?
[00:43:15] Like comment. You said this was a whole group thing that Lala should be nominated, that I should go on the block. So like, what are, what is, what even is this? And this is the real meat of the tea party because it goes back to what I was talking about with like the reasons, the excuses that this is why it's actually your fault. You're going on the block because this is not, there's no strategic purpose to it because
[00:43:44] every single person in this house knows that Jason was always the planned backdoor target. Kamu told all of them to their faces that Jason was the intended backdoor target. So to go in a group setting and tell Jason, the reason why you are going to be my fourth
[00:44:10] nominee is because you broke your word to me that you wouldn't, that you would not use the veto on somebody when he didn't even win the veto is absurd. It's just trying to force the rest of the group into backing up your obviously fake story to make the person feel incredibly ostracized, which he stated was the purpose of what he was
[00:44:38] doing, by the way, maybe not in those exact concrete terms, but he did say that he wanted to make sure nobody would be willing to work with Jason after this confrontation. And so this is again, like this is the meat of this whole thing. The fact that it's just confrontation for the sake of it. It's just trying to make Jason feel bad for the sake of it when every, because it's not fooling anybody. Everybody knew that he was always the target.
[00:45:09] So, so this is essentially what Jason tries to like kind of come to, but you know, it's, it's, it's kind of it's, it's like a difficult point to make here. And Jason is much more inclined to like kind of fight fire with fire, which I don't think ultimately helped his case when it came to the, the, the audience in this confrontation.
[00:45:35] Something that I've, I've talked about a lot when it comes to like the house meeting things. And ultimately, I think one of the reasons why this goes relatively poorly for Jason by the end of it, you know, when you are in the, the peanut gallery of a confrontation like this, you'd, you'd usually want to stay in the peanut gallery. And usually your main concern is like, nobody bring me up.
[00:46:05] Nobody talk about me. Nobody make me feel nobody. Nobody better say my name. Uh, like nobody better say that I said this to, to, to, to them. Um, and Kamu for as annoying as he was in this confrontation does not name a single name. Uh, despite Jason being like, who, who did this? Who said this? I'm not going to say, how is that fair? You're calling me out in front of everyone. You're not even telling me who did it.
[00:46:31] But Kamu is in the minds of the people like Mallory, like whoever else who told Jason or to told Kamu these things. It's like, he is not saying their names and they're going to feel a little grateful to him for doing that. Uh, and Jason is more like, Haley, what the hell? I talked to you about this. Uh, girls, is this how you want the, your guys to act like, uh, like, is anybody going to speak up here? Um, and, uh, and like, he's so right for that.
[00:47:01] Like, you know what I mean? Like he's so justified in that, but in the game, it is not, people are not going to like it. They're not going to, they're not going to like being called out. Uh, and they're going to be much more inclined to like, uh, to, to want to, to distance themselves from it. But again, this is exactly what Kamu wanted in the first place. Um, and so, uh, so this is, this is kind of like the intention here.
[00:47:27] Um, and, uh, and Jason, and it goes around in circles and circles and circles about like who said what? And, uh, was Jason planning to, to use the veto? And it starts to get also to, uh, to like Angela gets herself involved because she's like, well, I heard you were coming after Guy Cont. Um, and he's like, where did that come from? Haley? Haley?
[00:47:54] Uh, Haley, I trusted you. Why did you, why did you, I know this could only have come from you, Haley. Um, everything that I'm, everything that he's saying is, is things I've been saying to you. I don't want to come after the icons. That'd be stupid of me to think I could go against the most powerful people in this house and protect all these girls when I can't even hit a fucking pickleball. Please. What the hell? And I like pickles. Do you have Lala on the side?
[00:48:24] Like, um, I just want to ask how I became a big threat. I can't even hit a pickleball. If anyone remembers, I can't hit one pickleball. So I don't think I'm not a big threat. I also couldn't hit a pickleball. Just to put that out there. Just sporadically throughout the entire meeting. Lala is just jumping in like, and I'm not a big threat because I can't hit pickleballs. Like, okay, Lala, we'll get back to you. Here we go. Says Jason. Here we go. Bro, just like last week with Devon's. Oh, this big production, right?
[00:48:53] Cherry picking things I've said to make me look crazy. Just like you did to Rome. It's obvious what you're doing here. And just like, I just don't get why I'm hearing that you're coming after the icons. Why am I hearing this? And we're going to hear from Angela later. I'm pretty sure what Angela really wanted here. Given that she, in her mind, has been hearing this from Drew primarily.
[00:49:19] I think she's really hoping that Drew calls out Jason when he denies going after the icons. Because later she's going to be like, Drew's a coward. He should have said something. To like back her up when she was arguing with Jason about whether he was targeting the icons. And so they get back and forth there.
[00:49:43] This is like the slightly, like there's obviously a bit more evidence here when it comes to like Jason saying to the red corner he would target the icons. And saying to the icons that he would target the red corner. That's true. He did do that. But D and D didn't want to like get involved. D was part of that information change. He did not want to get involved in that way.
[00:50:10] And so, so when that comes up, it's, it's even more sort of like weird and sketchy and nebulous in terms of how it goes. Lala continues to throughout the conversation say like, he didn't even tell me he was going to use the veto on me. Disproving that bit of the information. Disproving that bit of the conversation. Generally backing Jason up in the conversation. And also, it's really important to, to convey this. I did go live on, on my Patreon.
[00:50:38] Great place to watch feeds with me, by the way. After the podcast. And I watched the majority of this on Patreon. The video is up if you want to go check it out. And I said on that stream, I said, like you guys, whoever is watching this. With me right now. Whoever is watching this live right now, or maybe it goes back and watches the whole thing. You are getting an experience of this that is so incredibly different.
[00:51:06] Like we got to see the, the nomination confrontation on the episode. They did a great job. In many ways, it was better than the feeds version because they were able to stop and cut different angles. It was very good. There's no version of this that, that survives translation to an edit because it was like over an hour long. It was so long and no, nothing can convey to you the amount of awkward silences.
[00:51:35] And the, the level of like hostage taking it was for the people who were there. Some of them in dresses as they were just like, just lengthy period. Like sometimes for like minutes at a time, just everyone. Yeah. Did you, Taryn, did you know that a group of crows is called a murder? Oh, is it? That's fine.
[00:52:05] Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Okay. Well, it's adjourned. Like it was so awkward. And like, there's so many things I have to say in terms of like, I mean, you thought you were going to have a moment at the expense of a drag queen. Like this is actually my moment now. I'm going to have it. Thank you very much. And I think Jason like started out like, this is big brother. What did you expect me to do? I didn't say that.
[00:52:33] And like the levels went up like slightly a little bit throughout, but it was just frustrating. And I don't blame him in like, no one else is getting involved. Kamu saying like, I don't want to call anyone out while you're calling me out. So that's obviously not true. And so I think that like all well and good as he clocks, Kamu did want to, you know, like end his big brother game here. I know there's a lot of discussion of comments of like, I'm quote going to end his career. Like he's going, we're going to end this and we're going to end his career.
[00:53:00] And I think from my perspective, I think that to likely be more of a, like, if I beat someone so bad in a boxing fight, their career is ended because they look stupid. But obviously when there has been like other reads by people, by other comments, I don't think the audience is going to be as generous. So definitely people were then looking at it as like outside career, not happening, obviously.
[00:53:25] So yeah, this continued to just like escalate and escalate and then fall into awkward silence. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, there was a very funny moment when I thought for a moment, Jason might, uh, pull a, a Frankie, uh, because he, he basically seemed to like reference Frankie, uh, as he was like, listen,
[00:53:52] I know people, I, I can help you out. I mean, like, um, what does Jason have to lose at this point? Like, just do it. I know RuPaul. RuPaul does not remember me. Uh, cause RuPaul does not remember anyone's names, but I know her. I am a drag queen mogul. I am two steps removed from Ariana Grande.
[00:54:24] Um, so the, the, the, the silence, the awkwardness continues. Taylor at one point is just like, I'm out. And she just leaves. Um, and the whole time I'm just like, who, how are they going to disperse at this? Like nobody's, nobody's willing to do anything. Finally, at one point, Devin's tries, he goes, all right. And this tea party is adjourned and he gets up and not a single person follows him. Let me just stand at the pool table.
[00:54:54] Now they all said, he just walks over to the pool table where they have all the food. He just starts like eating and standing there awkwardly. Like nobody coming and joining him. They're all just stuck there, uh, in their own misery, unable to leave. Um, and, uh, and so then like 10 minutes later, he just awkwardly resigns and comes back. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. I don't blame them.
[00:55:22] Like, uh, there are 15 people there. I would be the 14th person to leave. Like it is so incredibly awkward. I, you don't want to make a moment of yourself in that argument, but you also don't want to leave and have the chance that like people keep talking without you. And eventually even Taylor, who is just fully inside, like doing her own hat has to come back because they're still going.
[00:55:50] And it's, it's like, it's like when you watch the feeds and the feeds are down half the time. It's like, there's, there's like five minutes of conversation in the 40 that they're sitting in silence. It's, it's, it's ridiculous. And at one point Lala says, can I ask a question? And she essentially says like, why is it that some people get called out for doing what everyone else is doing?
[00:56:22] It's a good point. And I'm glad that Lala finally got to speak because when she did earlier, Jason 30 seconds into it, just flips off Angela and turns it back to him again. But finally Lala is getting her moment and saying facts. We're all doing the same thing. And yet we are pretending like one person is the only one doing it. And this, this question in particular, really, really pissed people off afterwards. Why did Lala, why was Lala doing? What was she even talking about?
[00:56:51] She doesn't even understand the game. Like, what does she mean? Like, that's such a stupid question. Oh my, oh my God. Yep. Yeah. Yeah. How dare she? And like, that was always going to be the result. No matter again, how much truth she was telling, because this isn't an alliance. It is eight people who came together for the purposes of getting Rome out and for getting to the final eight, but it's not an alliance. And how dare you say it is one. Yeah.
[00:57:21] Finally, finally, after genuinely over an hour, it feels. I think it was D. D was either the first or the second person to get up. Uh, and once two people got up, they all disperse. Finally, they finally get, uh, get up. Um, and this is, I think this is the scene that really frustrated people.
[00:57:48] It was, it was difficult to watch because they all get up and Jason stays. Uh, he stays and he just looks distraught. Right? Like, um, they are all, you know, this was like, he was just informed that he's going to be backdoored. He knows what this was. Uh, and there's not a single person other than Lala who spoke up for him.
[00:58:14] Obviously they're not going to, it's game, but it's still not going to feel good. It's still not going to feel good at all. And he sits there and, and it's just, and this is Jason too. And I think this is part of it. Like we know Jason at this point, Jason is clearly like a very, I would say a very sensitive
[00:58:38] person, uh, who also has so much like bite to him. Uh, almost I think because of that. Uh, and I think that like the whole controversial thing with Angela in the beginning of the season is a perfect example of it where I don't doubt that he was having a real emotional moment with Angela, but then also like it was in many ways, I think too emotional for him. And so he needed to cap it off with like a ha ha.
[00:59:08] Um, and so, uh, to see Jason looking so just purely vulnerable and raw in this moment was tough, uh, for me at least. Um, and, and the thing that really like dug in the knife was that like he was alone. Like everyone was just walking, do it like cleaning up the food. We talk like, Oh man, all the food's gone bad.
[00:59:37] All the, which I, I thought, I thought was really funny actually. It was gone bad. They were also, they were like, they spent all this time making their snacks and all this stuff and it all gone bad. Cause they took too long. Devastating. You know, past a charcuterie board went, uh, went bad. Yeah. Yeah. So, uh, so they're like cleaning up and everything. And like, you know, and I mentioned this too, like, uh, like if I'm in Jason's spot personally,
[01:00:06] I don't even, I don't even want somebody to come up to me at this point. Like, I don't want somebody to like sit down with me. Like, I'm not ready for that. Like, this was a lot. Uh, but I wouldn't mind somebody like, Hey, you okay? Yeah. And I can be like, I'm good. Thanks. Yep. But nobody did that. Uh, in fact, a couple of people like walked up to him and I was like, okay, they're going to ask if he's okay.
[01:00:32] They walked up, picked up a cup and left. And I was like, really? Not a word to this, but do you see him? Uh, and then like, I see somebody else walk up. Okay. All right. Taylor's going to say hi. Grabs the chair. And then she goes back and I'm like, okay, now she's going to grab the next chair. Yep.
[01:01:00] What is happening? It's tough. I think that there is obviously this thing in the game where like the people that are on the bottom are too scared to be seen talking to Jason and the people that are on the top are now, well, I wouldn't be the right person for this message to be coming from. Rick has said at multiple points, like, I feel bad. I feel like I want to check on him, but I know that like, I'm not the person who should be doing this. And Rick. Does eventually put like, it takes a long time because it, you know, in theory should
[01:01:30] be someone else. Yes. Now Jason does then go to the diary room when he comes out. So there are multiple people that come up and check on him, including Devon's and Lyric and melody and or Mallory. And, and, and, and a bunch of them do eventually check up on him. But it's this, it's this image in the aftermath. It just felt like, Oh man, like this did not feel fun. And it didn't feel fun. And it didn't feel fun either.
[01:01:57] Cause like part of the whole confrontation too, it becomes Lala talking about like, why do people hate me? Uh, like comma, you told me that people don't like me in this house because of like all the cooking and cleaning stuff. Um, and it's just like, it, it just got, it just got to the point where it, it, it didn't feel fun, uh, anymore.
[01:02:16] Um, and then to make it worse post the confrontation, we get into your classic, let's all chat about this. Yeah. And by chat about this, I mean, let's all pick apart every little thing that Jason has ever said or done in the house. Uh, could you believe he's talking about jury? Who talks about jury? Yeah. Oh my God. I can't believe he mentioned jury so much.
[01:02:46] Uh, and the way that he said this and like, uh, like the way that he does that. Oh my God. Uh, and oh man, he, he really screwed himself there. Um, and, uh, and then on the reverse side of things, Angela and Haley are talking, Kamu did such a great job. Kamu comes out, Kamu, oh, Kamu, you handled that beautifully. It was so well-spoken. You're such a class act, Kamu. Uh, that was, that was beautiful.
[01:03:15] Kamu, uh, Angela tells him, uh, and he walks out and Haley says, and Hey, if it helps, you were the most good looking guy in the room. Hmm. What? I'm not saying it again. Oh no. Say it again. No. Uh, yeah. Um, you know, I was going to say it's kind of like reverse virtue signaling where everyone
[01:03:40] is just like making sure that they're also on the pylon so that they are, uh, yeah. I also think that was stupid and I don't like what he did. Yeah. It's just like, uh, it is going to be the same for a large portion of the night. Unfortunately. Yeah. And I tweeted this out last night cause it really, it really struck me because we haven't really gotten this in the last few seasons in the same way.
[01:04:10] Uh, we got, we certainly got some of it at the end of 25. Um, but, uh, but especially like the, the blockbuster era where there's been a lack of structure in the house. We, it reminded me that we haven't really seen much of this, uh, since, since 25 essentially. Um, and it made me real. Oh, of course, because the blockbuster has kind of limited the amount of structure you can build. It limits the amount of power you can accumulate.
[01:04:38] Um, and this tends to happen with the, like the more power a group has, the more they ostracize, the more they dog pile. Uh, and you'd, you'd think maybe if you had any amount of optimistic bone in your body, uh, that the more power you have, the less you need to ostracize, the less you need to use these kinds of tactics because you already have so much power.
[01:05:09] But unfortunately it does feel like it's actually the opposite, right? We see it in the big brother house all the time. We certainly see it in real life all the time. And, and it really like, it frustrates me even more that the show is so, uh, either intentional or, uh, sort of like, um, uh, inadvertently because of decisions they're
[01:05:36] making, allowing one side to have so much power, uh, like really like shifting the dynamics in one particular direction because, uh, because this is then what kind of tends to come from it. The more even the power balance, the more fun it is in general. Uh, because number one, it's not punching down, which sucks by itself. But number two, when people are punching down, they punch harder. It's, it's silly.
[01:06:03] Um, but, uh, but yes, it's so it's, it's a lot of Jason said, Lala said, can you believe it? Um, and a lot of like, Oh my God, why did Lala come into the, the HOH room? Um, she just opened the door. Like she could just come in. Drew did the same thing. Drew's always coming into her stupid room. Um, and, uh, and it's just like, ah, just, just chill.
[01:06:34] Uh, and I say, I say every, like there are various comments and, uh, and discussions that some people are having that are like, we don't really like what's happening. Uh, it's, it's certainly not everyone in is primarily Haley. Um, but, uh, but it's just, it's a frustrating dynamic for, for certainly me at least to watch something we've seen play out so many times.
[01:06:57] And, uh, and the best remedy for generally is like, don't let one side have so much power. Yeah. I mean, uh, it's talked about a lot in terms of like, you bring back someone, let's say for example, an Angela who is, I mean, actually, you know, has her fans and has people that doesn't love that don't love her, but the people that do love her and do find her entertaining is because she's an underdog that's fighting against the power Alliance and somehow like
[01:07:24] surviving and like, you know, fighting against the people, uh, that currently hold the power. But then when she comes in and she has the power and or like other vets come in and have the power. And then there's a twist that also gives them more power. And then they have all of the alliances that give them more power. And then they're getting annoyed at all of the other people and they get more power. It's like, well, this isn't fun anymore. Like we're not punching, like we're punching down. It feels like icky. And I think this happens to a fair number of returnees, whether it be on big brother,
[01:07:53] survivor, other shows of like, Ooh, the second season is not hitting like that first one. Uh, yes. Now, uh, it's being mentioned in the chat. This is, this is something that's come up that, uh, this is big, uh, quite frankly, I don't really know why. Uh, but the big topic of, of the day is like, Oh, Oh wait, Kamu broke the rule that you can't tell somebody that you're nominating them.
[01:08:21] Surely production will step in. Like, uh, he'll, they'll stop him from being able to cause he, cause he's not supposed to say that. Um, and, uh, listen, I wish I could help you out here. Um, it just, that's, it's just not true. It just doesn't work that way. Um, this is like, this is something that like, uh, honestly, it happens almost every single
[01:08:49] year, uh, that people are like, Oh no, but they're broke the rule. Right. Uh, and, and it's, I think it comes from a good place. It comes from a place of like wanting to do something. Uh, but it, it's, I, I, I hate to break your hearts, but like, it's, it's not going to happen. Um, this rule has basically never been enforced. There's like one time in the history of the show that people theorize that it was enforced and the players themselves denied that that was actually even the case.
[01:09:16] Uh, they are not supposed to outright tell their nominees that they're nominating them. I believe primarily because they just, uh, will have to edit around it in the episode if they do. Um, but it's not like a hard and fast rule that if you, if you let it slip, if you tell them outright that we are going to step in and punish you and prevent you from doing a thing. Um, it's, it's just, it's just not the case. It would, it's a, it would be a very silly rule in the first place.
[01:09:45] Um, so, uh, sorry. When do you enforce it of like, well, there's a chance you might be going up. You might want to wear some good clothes on this day. Like it is such a weird line to draw and it does come up in the fan base, particularly when it's like someone we like is about to go up and some we don't like is not to nominate them is when we do start to get a little frustrated by it. Consider it the, like, don't swim for 30 minutes after you eat rule. I'm like, no one pays attention to this. Like, and it's not real.
[01:10:13] Well, nearly every HOH in the history of the show has quote unquote broken this rule. Like they all tell their nominees ahead of time, uh, in one way or another. Um, so, uh, you know, it's, it is what it is. Uh, but, but certainly I would not expect any, uh, enforcement of a rule when, you know, again, like it's not even like the, there is a supposed to be enforcement of the rule. Um, okay.
[01:10:42] So we get through all of that. Uh, and there is, there's a little bit out here. A lyric goes to Jason afterward. He, Jason tells lyric, uh, he clarifies the situation. He says that, um, that Kamu wanted him to not use the veto, which is news to lyric because she was under the impression that the veto was supposed to be used on her. Uh, and he says, no, I was supposed to not use it. Now he is telling the truth.
[01:11:12] He wasn't supposed to use it. Um, she goes to Kamu and says, so Jason's telling me that he wasn't supposed to use the veto at all. Kamu denies it. Kamu says, no, no, no, no. It was always supposed to be you. I talked to him about doing what I wanted with the veto. And what I wanted with the veto was you off the block. Uh, this is a lie. He didn't want to have to renominate anyone, anyone, of course. Uh, but, um, but that is any, a small little interaction that happens. I don't think it's going to go anywhere. There's in fact, a lot of talk about Kamu and lyric. Yeah.
[01:11:40] Prussian a little bit lyric being like, I hope Rome's not mad at me for doing this. If he's got a crush on me, so on and so forth. Um, but, uh, but yes, a little interaction there for sure. And it's really easy to assume like, Oh, Jason assumed that he would not want to use the veto. And so that was just like him extrapolating based off of what he said.
[01:12:00] I think the next like logical thought would be like, well then who would Kamu have put up if he wanted Jason to use the veto on me, but we don't have to think that far. Yeah. Um, Drew is going to talk to D and Devin's and he makes another push for Mallory to stay. Um, and this is what, this was one of the thoughts I had given Lala's involvement in, cause a lot of people were asking me on stream.
[01:12:30] What do I think the fallout from this whole tea party situation is? Um, and most of what I was saying was like, I really don't think that changes anything. In fact, many of the people afterward were like, this doesn't really change anything.
[01:12:44] Um, but one potential influence it could have is that given Lala's involvement, it could spur the fire of somebody like Haley and open up the door more for this Mallory, uh, Lala vote, which continues to be the only real intrigue of like campaigning kind of vote situation.
[01:13:03] Um, and it seemingly does cause drew reinvigorated both from his conversation with Haley and perhaps from a little bit from this interaction does make another push for Mallory to stay. Uh, and he also is going to use Barrett a bit here in his, uh, in his pitch saying, uh, like we can't, you know, we can't have, we can't like take out Mallory. That's, that's Barrett's person. He's got a little bit of a crush. Uh, and he's like, what? Yeah. He's retracted. It's like, what?
[01:13:34] Yeah. You know, it's theoretically one of us in the Alliance had a side Alliance that we have a crush on. We might want to keep them around. I think that might be helpful for us in the future. There's just like a little bit of a crush. Maybe that would convince people. I don't know. Yeah. There's crushes are valuable. Float the argument before you make it. I like it. Angela later interrogates drew.
[01:14:03] Actually, it might've been earlier interrogates drew in front of a bunch of people in that HOH room about melody. Uh, and he, he, he does his, like, this is basically the stock, the stock thing. He says like, ah, she's older. You know, she's 24. 22. She lives in Arizona. He lives in like, uh, Temecula. It's like not that far. Uh, and she's, I'm pretty sure she's got like a guy at home, um, which we've talked about on the updates, of course.
[01:14:33] Um, but, uh, but that's like, I, I, I love, this is so funny to me that like the first two points are like not an issue at all. Um, um, I would look the, the age difference from like the two years from 22 to 24, like are bigger than other two year gaps, but not big enough to end this by any means. Yes. Yes. Uh, so, um, so Drew is pushing this with D and Devins. Devins pushes back.
[01:15:02] He says, I'm not gonna lie. Like it'd feel pretty dumb for like me to not want Mallory out considering Mallory is gunning for me and D. Um, and Drew's like, yeah, you know, I get that. I'm convinced. I'm convinced. But, you know, I don't know. It could be, you know, this is an argument on the other side. Um, and because Drew isn't backing down this time, Devins starts to wobble a little bit.
[01:15:31] Like, all right, listen, the way that this could work is if we lean into it and we say, Hey, if we keep you and you help do this, like we make sure we aim her at the cool kids, uh, cool kids terminology coming back by the way. Um, for, uh, for the red corner, uh, that like, as long as Mallory's aimed at Kamu, uh, Haley and Chuck and not the icons, maybe, yeah, maybe we could,
[01:16:00] make a world where it makes sense to keep Mallory and considering everything that just happened with that big blow up. There's kind of some ammunition to use against the cool kids, like maybe some reason for Mallory to, to want to target them over the icons, considering what Kamu just did.
[01:16:17] Um, and so this idea is, is clearly kind of circling around in Devins's mind and, uh, and to make things sort of even more interesting with that vote, Chuck, Haley, Angela, and Dee are going to be up in the gym. Um, and Haley makes another strong push for Lala to go. Um, she says, if we don't take Lala out now, we're never going to do it.
[01:16:47] She's going to stick around week after week because it's always going to be the same argument. She's weak. She can't win competitions. She's not a threat. And so every single week she's going to be on the block, not winning the blockbuster, making it harder for us to take out our targets. Um, and, uh, instead let's keep Mallory so we can keep throwing her on the block so that she can win the blockbuster. So that when we go against some of the boys in this house, like Drew and Barrett, we have Mallory to win blockbusters against them.
[01:17:16] Um, and I'll give for this, uh, it's an interesting premise that I haven't really heard an argument for with the blockbuster in the game. Uh, do I think it makes sense? Not really, but you know, it's an interesting idea. Yeah. And I think especially for, uh, the icons who are already going to have to be worried about red corner, like winning some of the, uh, late game competition might be up against.
[01:17:43] I think keeping someone like Lala who can't even hit a pickleball might be a little bit more appealing than keeping someone like a Mallory, uh, for like, oh, she's going to stick around for six or seven weeks. Like that's okay. Okay. That'll be okay. She can't, yeah, she can't even hit a pickleball. Um, but she's just like, I just don't feel comfortable, uh, with how many women are being evicted. It's going to come down to just a couple of us left and we're going to have to get rid of some of these boys.
[01:18:10] And if, and if, if it's just us left in Lala, then we're the ones that are going to have to beat these boys in competitions. Uh, so we should keep Mallory around so that she can beat them for us. Um, and again, does this argument make sense? No. The reality is you're going to have to beat Mallory. Um, but she's pitching it. She just really wants Lala gone. Um, and Angela seems to be starting to get swayed a little bit by this.
[01:18:39] She's like, she's like, oh, hold on. There's an argument here that I can latch on. I think what she's saying is if we don't get rid of Lala now, she'll, she'll be here. She'll be around forever. And she also really likes this idea of like, oh, we can use Mallory to help eat Drew and Barrett in competitions when we go after them. Um, and Chuck is like, listen, listen, ladies, when it comes to the guys, you know, I'm, and he goes into this whole like five minute monologue.
[01:19:07] Like, or like, it's, it's totally not a big deal because what's going to happen is that I'm perfectly willing to, and Haley's like, but my thing with Lala is that like, I just, so what I was saying about the guys is that I can absolutely take that shot for you, Angela. I would absolutely nominate Barrett and Drew. Um, and so, uh, so all this is happening and, and Chuck's, uh, is that eventually Haley's like, Chuck, can you be the one to float this idea to like Kamu?
[01:19:37] Uh, cause like, I can't do it. And he's like, okay, so I float the idea. Take out Mallory. No, no. Lala. Right. Okay. Take out Lala. Uh, and D's sitting there trying to argue, but like Haley is just rolling right over. Like just not really letting anyone talk, including Chuck, uh, when he tries to do his whole, uh, spiel.
[01:20:00] Um, and so by the end of this conversation, like it's, it's kind of like Haley's really pushed this in the direction of Mallory staying again, Lala leaving. And, um, and then D goes and talks to, uh, to Devin's after this as well. And, uh, and they're kind of just like, Devin's like, is this a losing battle? Like, should, like, should we genuinely just kind of like lean into it and try to win Mallory over instead of fighting this?
[01:20:29] Uh, and D's like, I think we can still get the votes. If Jason comes off the block, Jason would be a vote to keep Lala over Mallory. And I don't, I don't know if that's even the case. Um, but Devin's is like, yeah, but then what? It's like a six, six, like it's a really close vote. Uh, and we maybe lose Drew and Barrett over it. Like, I don't know if this is worth the effort. And so just like that, the pendulum has seemingly kind of swung back in the direction of Mallory staying over Lala.
[01:20:57] And Barrett's going to make another push with D as well later in the night. So, and, and Drew's going to keep pitching. So like, uh, there is a lot of intrigue with this vote and it's going back and forth. It really felt like Mallory lost her momentum and then kind of picked it back up, uh, later in the night. So right now it's looking like Mallory once again may have the votes over Lala in the event that Jason wins the blockbuster. And this is an important vote for many reasons.
[01:21:26] Mallory is a key figure in the house against the vets. Uh, and there's a very decent chance that Jason does win that blockbuster. He's already won one in the past. In the past, a lot of the blockbusters do tend to favor like size and physicality. Mallory is fit. Like she's really fit, but she is smaller.
[01:21:47] So like, you know, a blockbuster, like the one we just got where you're like lifting these big pieces and stacking them on things, uh, is going to slightly favor Jason. Um, and Lala can't hit a pickleball. Uh, so theoretically she doesn't have as much of a chance. I think that she certainly could have a chance in some of these competitions, but, um, but like Jason has a very real shot of winning this blockbuster, which really would mean that this Mallory Lala situation, uh, really could come to a head. So interesting stuff with this vote. Yeah.
[01:22:16] There's no doubt that obviously like Lala could win lots of competitions, including a booth comp, but then like Kamu could also win a booth comp. So you just never know. Uh, there definitely is concern, especially like, I know Rick has talked about it a lot of like, do we really want to leave in Jason and Mallory? Like the two most likely on that side to win an HOH. That seems a little concerning to me, but I think that, uh, given the point of the week, you might think it's like very likely to flip back on Mallory.
[01:22:42] But given the people that are more willing to put their foot down are on the side of keeping Mallory, uh, openly in this vote, I am, uh, not so sure. Could flip back and forth. Yeah. Kamu, I think is still the biggest obstacle because Kamu has the position, the HOH, uh, to, to really put his foot down. Devins clearly does not want to like strictly put his foot down. He's never been a super put her foot down person either.
[01:23:07] Um, and, uh, with Angela easily swayed with drew pushing with Barrett pushing with Haley pushing, um, there's a lot of push to keep Mallory around. And Kamu is the only one who can really be like, no, this is my HOH. I'm not willing to let Lala go home on my HOH. That'd be such a waste. Um, basically I think Kamu would need to convince Haley. If Haley stopped pushing, that would give D and Devins what they need to override drew and Barrett.
[01:23:37] And the whole thing crumbles. So Haley right now is the linchpin, the, the thing keeping the entire Mallory, uh, idea afloat. And it has nothing to do with Mallory and everything to do with her just wanting Lala out. Mm-hmm. Yeah, completely. Uh, I think that is what it's going to take is like, how much are we listening to Kamu as we're going? I'm curious to see the Kamu-Haley conversation. Yes, I agree.
[01:24:02] Um, especially considering she's calling him the best looking guy in the room when they weren't even in a room. Um, so, uh, that's really, that's like a lot, that's really what's going on for the rest of the night. However, there's one thing which I've already kind of alluded to here, uh, which is that, um, late into the night, Jason comes into the kitchen. He looks around a little bit. He finds a teapot.
[01:24:32] He grabs a spoon. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah, I think this will work. Oh, yep. Yep, yep, yep. Uh, pre-planning. Kamu, uh, you like tea parties? Well, I'll be spilling the tea all day tomorrow. Uh, and don't worry. Someone could take this from him and hide it. But no.
[01:25:02] Jason decides, I'm actually going to sleep with the tea kettle and the spoon. This one breaks the spoon on it. Mm-hmm. Broke the wood a little bit. That's okay. And then he takes the teapot and he goes to bed and cradles it. Yep. Yep. But, you know, and there is like some, should we make a heist? Should we steal the tea kettle? Do you think when he falls asleep, we could sneak in there and take it back? This is happening.
[01:25:28] And then Taylor, uh, comes up to him as he's cradling the teapot. Like, what, why'd you wake me up? Like, what, what was that for? And he's like, what do you mean? Oh, I can't wait to catch up on the morning feed. Apparently, and listen, it doesn't feel like anything really came from it. Cause nobody like had an extended period of like, whoa, it's going down.
[01:25:55] But apparently he has been banging the teapot already this morning. Um, so, uh, expect perhaps some more, uh, tea to be spilled throughout the day as, uh, he comes up with more and more activities. The problem with like, Kamu told everyone he was going to be nominating Jason. So it had no impact. Well, when you tell everyone that you're going to bang pots and pans in the morning, well, then I'm expecting to be woken up by pots and pans. Yeah. Um, all right.
[01:26:23] That is about, I believe what we've got for you from yesterday. Again, today we've got teapots. We've got the veto ceremony. Uh, later tonight, we've got the round table. If you want to give your opinions on what's been happening game wise, player wise, uh, all of that stuff. Uh, make sure you, uh, tune in tonight for the round table. I'll have the survey out. Uh, I think I'll just put the survey up earlier today. We all know Jason's going on the block.
[01:26:51] So, uh, we'll give you some time to put in some answers. Um, and, uh, I'll of course be back tomorrow morning, 11 a.m. Eastern to update everything that happens today on the Big Brother 28 live feeds. If you want to check out my reaction to the tea party last night, it's, uh, the video is up on Patreon. Uh, my patron, if you want to check it out. Very fun place to be my patron. Uh, and I might be live today watching more tea party shenanigans and teapot shenanigans. Who knows? Uh, so stay tuned for all of it.
[01:27:19] Uh, Scali, anything else you wanted to bring up from yesterday? Um, there was a quick conversation. I saw little clips of making their way around with, uh, Kamu and Drew where Kamu's talking about, uh, the height of his ideal woman and how, uh, he doesn't want to be, uh, looking her in the eyes. She should be shorter with heels. Uh, and Drew's like, I don't know. Why do you care about that? I'm fine with making eye contact with the girl that I'm interested in personally. I personally think women are about as equal as men. I think they're equal.
[01:27:50] The feminist Drew. I don't know about you. Uh, if you don't feel that way, that's fine, but I don't really care how tall they are. Well, so, you know, maybe I said that I didn't think that Drew and Kamu would have issues, but we'll see how that goes. It's, it's, it's all, it's continuing to remind me of, uh, of Corey, uh, in that, in that way. Um, yeah, it was a, it was a funny interaction. Um, all right.
[01:28:18] That is about where, what we got then Scali, uh, where can people find you? What are you up to? People can find me on social media at Brian underscore Scali on Twitch at twitch.tv slash B Scali and on the free agents podcast talking about old school, the challenge, new school, the challenge, which is about to come out in a couple of weeks. So go check out the free agents podcast. All right. Well, that is what we have. Thank you all so much for joining us here today.
[01:28:43] That is going to conclude our tea party and I will see all of you next time. We'll see you next time.
