[00:00:34] [SPEAKER_10]: For some, it was a recap of events and for some, many people who were either watching the Olympics or not watching Big Brother for the last 24 years.

[00:00:51] [SPEAKER_10]: I'm sure a person who learned quite a bit tonight, Taron Armstrong. Taron, how are you?

[00:00:57] [SPEAKER_11]: Listen, I spent a lot of time watching the Olympics. This is very helpful.

[00:01:01] [SPEAKER_11]: Yes. I feel like I really I didn't have much of an idea of what had happened.

[00:01:04] [SPEAKER_06]: I had no idea. None.

[00:01:08] [SPEAKER_10]: Yeah. So.

[00:01:10] [SPEAKER_10]: No, I'm just confused because I thought they the roundtable was last night.

[00:01:19] [SPEAKER_10]: It was. Just what did I just watch at Tuesday at eight o'clock?

[00:01:25] [SPEAKER_11]: I think you watched another round.

[00:01:28] [SPEAKER_11]: I mean, they didn't listen. I get it.

[00:01:32] [SPEAKER_11]: It's tough to fit the stock watch ratings in, but like they didn't even start the survey an hour.

[00:01:39] [SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, that's going to be a three hour podcast.

[00:01:42] [SPEAKER_10]: Let me tell you. Yes.

[00:01:44] [SPEAKER_10]: OK, well, we're very excited to have back here with us.

[00:01:48] [SPEAKER_10]: Maggie Morgan. Maggie, how are you?

[00:01:51] [SPEAKER_09]: I'm great. I'm happy to be here talking about a podcast that we just watched.

[00:01:58] [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, what are the best podcasts?

[00:02:01] [SPEAKER_09]: They really are. Like I was watching and I was like, dang, CBS finally has figured has it figured out how popular R.J.P. is.

[00:02:09] [SPEAKER_09]: It's like Quinn. Like they have a contestant that's talking about it.

[00:02:12] [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah. They're like, we got to see what all the fuss is about.

[00:02:15] [SPEAKER_10]: What if one night a week we just did a podcast about Big Brother?

[00:02:18] [SPEAKER_09]: And you know what? I have some.

[00:02:21] [SPEAKER_09]: Maybe I should wait until we fully open up the podcast space for this.

[00:02:26] [SPEAKER_09]: But what three very charming people chatting about the show, you know, you don't win Big Brother if you ain't a charmer or have an evil person.

[00:02:36] [SPEAKER_09]: So like there is either charm or, you know, there's you can go either way.

[00:02:41] [SPEAKER_11]: And we got three really good ones. OK, well, I am on top of this.

[00:02:44] [SPEAKER_11]: I did tell Taylor that she'll be hearing from my lawyer.

[00:02:47] [SPEAKER_11]: Yes, we're coming for those Big Brother winnings.

[00:02:51] [SPEAKER_11]: I've already given her warning.

[00:02:53] [SPEAKER_10]: Well, I breathe a sigh of relief if Taryn ever decides to retire.

[00:04:31] [SPEAKER_02]: I actually told Taryn on the Tastemakers a few weeks ago, I was like, Taryn, I'm watching Big Brother 26. Watch out.

[00:04:37] [SPEAKER_02]: And then like a week passed and I was like, how do you all keep up?

[00:04:41] [SPEAKER_02]: How do you keep up with this thing? There's a thousand episodes a week.

[00:04:45] [SPEAKER_02]: And then I found out that Ainsley, who I thought was the most ridiculous character on TV of 2024, apparently she hasn't even been here really.

[00:04:54] [SPEAKER_11]: Not really. No, not that much.

[00:04:56] [SPEAKER_11]: She just shows up once in a while going.

[00:05:01] [SPEAKER_11]: Maggie, where's Ainsley?

[00:05:04] [SPEAKER_08]: She's in our hearts, Josh. She's in our hearts.

[00:05:32] [SPEAKER_02]: I have a sense of what's happening in Big Brother 26, but I'm not sure it makes any sense.

[00:05:39] [SPEAKER_02]: So I really hope that I can get a solid recap of the recap in order to fill me in on what I'm missing.

[00:05:50] [SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, well, we can reset some things that I guess let's just talk about stylistically what they did here in a moment.

[00:07:37] [SPEAKER_02]: It was Taylor, Jag and NCIS, right?

[00:07:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Those were the three who were there.

[00:07:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Cody? Oh, that's his name.

[00:07:46] [SPEAKER_10]: Yeah. Got it.

[00:07:47] [SPEAKER_10]: Okay. So yeah.

[00:07:49] [SPEAKER_10]: So Jag is going to join us on Wednesday night and that should be a fun one as well.

[00:08:07] [SPEAKER_10]: I was not expecting this to be the format for what they did.

[00:08:13] [SPEAKER_10]: I mean, Taryn, I mean, this basically like I mean, I guess you could call it a podcast.

[00:08:17] [SPEAKER_10]: I don't know if this was like sort of like inspired at all by sort of like these like, you know,

[00:08:23] [SPEAKER_10]: whether it's like the Olympics and they have like all of these like talking heads at a table,

[00:08:29] [SPEAKER_10]: these like endless NFL pregame shows.

[00:08:33] [SPEAKER_10]: But this was not what I thought it was going to be.

[00:08:36] [SPEAKER_11]: It honestly was better than I thought it was going to be.

[00:08:40] [SPEAKER_11]: I thought it was going to be final three reminiscing where it's all scripted.

[00:08:46] [SPEAKER_11]: This was more so scripted to set up the clips and then free ish form discussion afterward.

[00:08:53] [SPEAKER_11]: It honestly reminded me more of like the more classic big brother after show sideshow things

[00:09:02] [SPEAKER_11]: that tend to be very popular, especially in international versions in the UK.

[00:09:06] [SPEAKER_11]: It was very big.

[00:09:08] [SPEAKER_11]: One Russell Brand hosted one at one point.

[00:09:12] [SPEAKER_11]: That's where he got his start in television.

[00:09:16] [SPEAKER_11]: So, you know, this this is it's a pretty tried and true format.

[00:09:21] [SPEAKER_11]: You know, like let's talk about the show.

[00:09:25] [SPEAKER_11]: But CBS hasn't really done much in along these lines since since House calls back.

[00:09:31] [SPEAKER_11]: Yeah. Maggie, you like the two?

[00:09:34] [SPEAKER_09]: You know, I agree.

[00:09:36] [SPEAKER_09]: It could have been worse.

[00:09:37] [SPEAKER_09]: I have seen the brother has given us much worse episodes of television to discuss.

[00:09:43] [SPEAKER_09]: And that's just like a normal veto episode.

[00:09:45] [SPEAKER_09]: You know, so I actually I really enjoyed what the alumni had to say.

[00:09:50] [SPEAKER_09]: Like you said, I think that there was like scripted to set up the clips.

[00:09:53] [SPEAKER_09]: But we did get to hear their opinions.

[00:09:55] [SPEAKER_09]: You know, Taylor has been all over talking about the season and she was able to voice some of that on CBS tonight.

[00:10:03] [SPEAKER_09]: I thought there were some like takes that some of them had that were really interesting that I didn't expect.

[00:10:09] [SPEAKER_09]: You know, like I think that it's really interesting to hear Cody say that he's like really loving watching Angela

[00:10:16] [SPEAKER_09]: because we know that if Cody was in the house with Angela, he would be trying everything in his power to get her out of there because he's very good at the game and understands how unpredictable she is.

[00:10:25] [SPEAKER_09]: So I do think that it's fun sometimes to see specifically somebody like Cody who in Big Brother 22 essentially played a perfect game.

[00:10:35] [SPEAKER_09]: Talk about like entertainment value and being a fan of the show versus all strategy.

[00:10:39] [SPEAKER_09]: I thought that it was fun to see them on that side of the table just chatting.

[00:10:43] [SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, Josh, I'm so curious to know from you like your takeaways in terms of like what you've watched and I guess how good of a job they did because I think that the concept here was, hey, a lot of people were watching the Olympics.

[00:10:57] [SPEAKER_10]: Maybe there's some people that some of our normal audience needs a catch up show.

[00:11:03] [SPEAKER_10]: So they're all now I don't know if they even knew that there was going to be an episode of Big Brother on Tuesday that was going to catch them up.

[00:11:09] [SPEAKER_10]: But hypothetically, let's just say they did.

[00:11:12] [SPEAKER_10]: Okay. So, Josh, in your opinion, what has been the story of Big Brother 26?

[00:11:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so I think it should set up because I think maybe we're taking for granted that anyone listening to this knows who I am.

[00:11:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Considering this is the very first time I've ever appeared on a Big Brother podcast and I think that there's definitely people who, unlike Maggie, have not listened to 300 hours of The Evolution of Strategy and may have no idea who I am.

[00:11:37] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm Josh. I've been on our RHAP for a decade.

[00:11:41] [SPEAKER_02]: I have stayed the hell away from Big Brother this entire time because there's smarter people who know the show, who are more interested in the show and have much more to say.

[00:11:50] [SPEAKER_02]: So I've just it's not my turf. This is Taryn's turf.

[00:11:54] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't I don't step on Taryn's turf unless it's T.T.

[00:11:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I never step in on Double T. Okay.

[00:12:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Double T is a sacred space and I don't go there.

[00:12:07] [SPEAKER_11]: Josh, stop calling it Double T. It's T.T. and we all know it.

[00:12:10] [SPEAKER_02]: T.T. T.T. Iced T.T.

[00:12:12] [SPEAKER_02]: So I've never I've never really watched the Big Brother.

[00:12:15] [SPEAKER_02]: I've seen I've seen probably a total of like three episodes of Big Brother and mostly Celebrity Big Brother.

[00:12:22] [SPEAKER_02]: So I've seen some Celebrity Big Brother and then they made them wear baby suits and I couldn't watch any further.

[00:12:27] [SPEAKER_02]: And that was the first week. I think I might try to.

[00:12:30] [SPEAKER_09]: I thought that was Mike Bloom who had the problem with it.

[00:12:33] [SPEAKER_02]: He does have a problem with adult babies.

[00:12:35] [SPEAKER_02]: He actually said recently we recorded a podcast and he said I said it was his number one fear and he took umbrage with that idea.

[00:12:42] [SPEAKER_02]: But I really just gives him the egg.

[00:12:44] [SPEAKER_02]: It gives him the egg. But Mike Bloom does not like adult babies.

[00:12:49] [SPEAKER_02]: So they turn the people into adult babies like I can't do it for other people.

[00:12:52] [SPEAKER_02]: It's not for me. But you know I figured OK well you know I'm more involved at our HP these days than I have been for the last couple of years.

[00:13:01] [SPEAKER_02]: I should at least be Big Brother. I should see what's going on.

[00:13:04] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to like step too far into T.T. but I want to take a little bit of a look at BB.

[00:13:08] [SPEAKER_02]: So I've seen like a couple of episodes of this season and so that's me.

[00:13:13] [SPEAKER_02]: So I don't really know what's going on in Big Brother historically and I know only tangentially what's going on in the show.

[00:13:19] [SPEAKER_02]: And my reaction to this episode is if this was a clip episode or like a catch up episode that was made to lure casual viewers into Big Brother like to pick up new viewers.

[00:13:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Total failure. Yeah absolutely.

[00:13:35] [SPEAKER_02]: A dark bomb. Just a total a total foul.

[00:13:39] [SPEAKER_02]: A whiff. A stinker. Who are these people? What are they talking about?

[00:13:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Just give me like Julie Chen Moonves in like total monotone robotic fashion giving me the very stone cold breakdown.

[00:13:52] [SPEAKER_02]: I need to understand what's happening here is just too too in its own Big Brother belly button.

[00:14:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I think if their heads were too far into the fear box or whatever that was.

[00:14:04] [SPEAKER_02]: OK. What do you know sense to me at all?

[00:14:07] [SPEAKER_02]: The only thing that I caught from this is that apparently there's a serial killer named Angela running roughshod over the house.

[00:14:12] [SPEAKER_10]: Give us your impressions of Angela. You came away with a positive feeling about Angela.

[00:14:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh my God. Well it seemed like like was it a Jag and Cody who seemed to think that Angela is going to win the game.

[00:14:28] [SPEAKER_10]: They didn't think she's gonna win. Yeah.

[00:14:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. Who am I to refute two Big Brother winners?

[00:14:33] [SPEAKER_10]: Or at least we're trying to manifest an Angela win.

[00:14:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. But yeah no I feel like what was it? Don't call me a bully. Is that what she was? She was being called a bully Angela.

[00:14:44] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if she's a bully but I think Angela is brat. This is Angela's summer here. It's very good.

[00:14:52] [SPEAKER_09]: Josh we need to wand off to Angela for brat 360. Yeah. We need something going for her.

[00:15:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. If Angela wins I'll come I'll come for a Big Brother wand off. That's a that's a solemn vow.

[00:15:08] [SPEAKER_11]: Yeah. Will you sit on the Angela deep dive?

[00:15:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah only so I can learn more about what Angela has done here. She seems very chaotic.

[00:15:19] [SPEAKER_11]: She seems kind of we've got so much more place. We've got so much more content for you.

[00:15:24] [SPEAKER_11]: You have at least two Dr. Phil episodes. Yeah.

[00:15:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Was she on Dr. Phil? Yes. Yes.

[00:15:30] [SPEAKER_10]: Angela's on Dr. Phil? Yes. If you don't want it I'll volunteer as tribute to take on the Angela deep dive.

[00:15:40] [SPEAKER_11]: Listen it's this is a privileged position to be in. The deep dive it's a sacred place now. I don't know what Angela's going to want.

[00:15:49] [SPEAKER_10]: I'll give her at least a medium dive. Yeah. Yeah. These deep dives too long. Yeah. I'm not doing six hours with anybody.

[00:15:57] [SPEAKER_10]: Six hours is a lot of time with anyone. Yeah but I'll give you a good hour and 10 minutes.

[00:16:04] [SPEAKER_10]: And then I'll run out of jokes. Yeah.

[00:16:08] [SPEAKER_09]: Josh from Angela I just really get what I want out of my reality television characters which is I cannot believe that this person exists.

[00:16:18] [SPEAKER_09]: And they found this person and now she's on my television and my computer 24 7 on the live feeds unless I decide they want to hide her.

[00:16:27] [SPEAKER_09]: But like do they hide her on the live feeds because they do because she does some stuff that we think you know we don't know for sure.

[00:16:34] [SPEAKER_09]: She gets hidden on the live feeds but sometimes she's gone for days at a time. Oh no.

[00:16:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Shrouding her's Angela. What happens? They put her under a blanket like what happened? How did they cut her off?

[00:16:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Isn't it supposed to be 24 7. Where is she? She says this. I can feel the bottom.

[00:16:50] [SPEAKER_11]: Oh God it's her. Oh no. Yeah Josh is also. I want to be a part of you. Angela.

[00:17:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Angela no. She's really into you Josh. Oh my gosh. Yeah I didn't mean it like that. I'm happily married.

[00:17:07] [SPEAKER_10]: All right so I want to know about this episode tonight. Maggie this is something that you know Taryn's been talking about this week about that Angela's perception with the fan base.

[00:17:20] [SPEAKER_10]: Do you think that tonight's episode helped Angela or only reminded the audience of the things they did not like about Angela?

[00:17:31] [SPEAKER_09]: It showed all of the clips of Angela being a complete and total menace in the house for absolutely no reason.

[00:17:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Can I just get caught up? So people don't like Angela? No. She's disliked. Yes.

[00:17:46] [SPEAKER_11]: The casual audience Josh so basically the first 20 minutes of this episode Angela versus Matt.

[00:17:54] [SPEAKER_11]: The casual audience. Oh that's when she's saying you're going to be real sorry. You're going to be real sorry. They loved Matt the audience.

[00:18:01] [SPEAKER_11]: Yeah and they hated Angela for going after him in the way they were like how dare she bring up his mother after he brought her up?

[00:18:09] [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah. And they also didn't like like I mean look the stuff with Lisa not good objectively bullying her.

[00:18:21] [SPEAKER_09]: Was there more stuff that happened between Angela and Lisa? Yes we didn't see it though. There's some like again that was part of the blackout.

[00:18:28] [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah there was some stuff that definitely did happen that we're not sure about but what we've seen on the show is you know Lisa going and crying in a corner because she's being bullied.

[00:18:41] [SPEAKER_02]: And like that's not that doesn't bode great for Angela with the casual audience. This is the celebrity chef. Yes that cried in the corner. Yeah that little twit. Yeah a little twit.

[00:18:52] [SPEAKER_10]: Josh. This week in Thurv...I don't know I don't know how to continue this. Let me ask you this question Josh okay because I'm curious to know the answer. Okay give us an info dump.

[00:19:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Everything that you know about the big brother player Tucker. Tucker so Tucker is the one who doesn't like shirts right? Yeah doesn't wear a lot of shirts. Yeah Tucker Tucker is the one and who was the guy who took Angela off the block?

[00:19:20] [SPEAKER_02]: That he gets into it with? Tucker. Yes. Wait so there's two Tuckers? No it was one Tucker. One Tucker is not one Tucker is so one guy is shirtless who's that? Who's the guy who's shirtless?

[00:19:32] [SPEAKER_02]: And then who's the guy who after okay so he takes Angela off the block and then someone puts a lady on the block. Cedric. Cedric thank you.

[00:19:42] [SPEAKER_02]: So what I know about Tucker is that dude hates Cedric. That guy hates Cedric. He puts what's the ladies name that he put on the block? Mackenzie. Mackenzie oh and her name is spelled crazily.

[00:19:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Makers make and see. 700 consonants yeah okay so Mackenzie goes on the block and Tucker looks at Cedric goes it's a stupid move bro. That was dumb that was dumb that was a stupid thing. Okay we can play like that.

[00:20:11] [SPEAKER_02]: It's the wrong thing to do and I'm coming for you. I'll see you in the AI arena. I'm gonna I'm gonna come back for you. It's just like I'm just playing the game.

[00:20:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Very stupid move brother very stupid move but I'm ready. I'm ready to hop right in the AI arena with you and then I'm like there's an AI arena? Yeah. Is this like Tron? What happens? Do they get zapped in? No they don't get zapped in they walk in.

[00:20:34] [SPEAKER_10]: I felt bad for Cedric. Cedric's like I'm just playing the game and this dude Tucker's like yeah but I'm gonna punch you in the nose. Yeah. I'm okay when the cameras aren't looking I'm gonna go like this boom to your throat. I'm pretty impressed that Josh you took so much away because Taron I was gonna say I feel like that for Tucker being such a fan favorite I'll say more than a production favorite but by proxy you would think the production would like it. Oh I think production loves Tucker. Sure sure. I feel that we did not get a lot of Tucker in the recap.
