Andy Herren and Aubry Bracco Talk BB28 Wednesday Veto Ep Recap, Week 9 Watch the podcast on YouTube! Big Brother 28 keeps the house buzzing as alliances face turning points, the Icons are targeted, and blindsides get planned. In this Recap episode, Rob Cesternino, Andy Herren, Maggie Morgan, and Survivor 50 winner Aubry Bracco, break […][00:00:08] Hey everybody, what's going on? Rob Cesternino and we are back and we have gotten an incredible loaded panel to talk about everything from Big Brother here tonight and we have a little bit of everything for you here tonight. It's the night of the crossovers, of course, here with us. First, let me introduce a woman who is going to help us through everything from the live feed tonight. It's Maggie Morgan. Maggie, how are you?
[00:00:38] I'm great. I'm so excited and honored to be here with two just incredible guests and I'll let you take it from there. A star-studded night, okay? A night of winners, of course, fresh off of winning Survivor 50 back with us. One time Big Brother commentator for EW Magazine. It's Aubry Bracco. Aubry, how are you?
[00:01:04] Great. I'm excited to be here. It's been a long season. Really rooting for my survivors. It's rough in those streets, but I'm still here and I can take it. Okay, and I'm very excited to welcome back the winner of Big Brother 15 gets brought up all the time on Big Brother Unlocked. It's Andy Herren. Hello. I'm so happy to be here. This is going to be very fun.
[00:01:29] Yeah, this is a fun panel to talk things through because I feel like that in Andy, I think that we have somebody who has been very vocal about, okay, I'm very excited about, okay, the vets are on their heels. And here in Aubry, we have somebody who's, hey, I am openly rooting for the vets. And I think this is going to be a very fun discussion to have together.
[00:01:54] But you two also have some history and are friends. How do you two know each other so well? Do you want to take it or should I? Oh, Andy, I want to hear your take on that. Yeah. So I was in LA in 2019 for Pride and it was right after Edge of Extinction. And so I truly, I think I was texting with Kelly Wentworth and Kelly was like, I'm here with Aubrey and Lauren and we should all meet up.
[00:02:19] And so we all met up. It was Kelly Wentworth's birthday. But while we were all hanging out, I feel like Aubrey and I just got to talking and we were like, oh, there's a connection here for sure. And there was such a strong connection that Aubrey then for like basically an entire afternoon of my vacation came and hung out in my Airbnb with me and my friends. And while we were together, we discovered that we have the exact same birthday down to the year. Wow.
[00:02:49] Which was very exciting. And then over the years, I feel like we, I mean, it ebbs and flows how we stay in contact, but we always will send like a long message. If we haven't talked recently, checking in and like saying that we love each other. It was so thrilling to watch her win Survivor 50. Yeah. I love her. I love Aubrey so much.
[00:03:12] I feel the same way about Andy. First of all, I never knew how like you can go to Pride in West Hollywood or you can do with Andy and his entourage. And it's like a life changing moment. I have such fond memories of that 48 hours hanging out in your Airbnb. I've never seen a crew like that. I loved all of you. And I just have that thing with Andy. I met Andy once. I felt like I knew him from a former life and then getting, I hadn't watched 15.
[00:03:39] I hadn't watched Andy's season. I know it's got its lore, but I just admire so much about Andy. I don't even, I don't know if you'd call it that. I'm just going to say what I love about it is that Andy's like, everybody loved Andy. Andy could stab you in the back almost in the way Sari could and he'd be like, do it again. Andy didn't do it. He's my best friend.
[00:04:04] So I think Andy's underrated, underrated across the board. He should be on every show. I love him. Maggie, have you ever met a birthday twin? Yes. I worked a serving job right before I moved to New York and four of us there had the exact same birthday. Oh my God. And I was one of them. Down to the ear? No, we all had different ears. So not, not like this. You two, it's a special connection.
[00:04:30] The ear truly, it was like a truly shocking, like gaggy moment when we figured it out. Yes. Okay. Well, we have a lot to talk about tonight. Plus we will preview tomorrow's big, big day tomorrow, as we say here on Wednesday, as an icon will go home on Thursday night and we could talk all of that through.
[00:04:52] Andy, let me start with you. And I'd love to get your take on Barrett and his HOH. I know you were very excited about what Barrett did this week. I think that there's also been some comparisons to is Barrett playing an Andy-like game? So what have you thought about Barrett?
[00:05:12] I mean, okay. So I have seen the vision all season. I've just really liked him as, I mean, in general, I just like him as a person, but also I'm just like this, this person clearly knows the game. He's smart. He has good sense for it. Let him cook. Like when people were like, he's just furniture. I never bought into that. I did not agree with that.
[00:05:31] I think that he has not played a perfect game. I think he has definitely had like stumbles, but I do. Sorry, Aubrey. I do think he did the right thing this week and he needed to put up the icons. It was time. I'm sorry. Like if we let them keep going as a unit, they are just going to get more and more powerful. He needed to do this.
[00:05:52] And people are like, I'm sorry. The icons have revisionist history. Dee and Angela were both talking about how they would like potentially put him up. And so this is ridiculous. Like hearing them. Yes. They like, yeah. But I will say if I may push back Andy, that maybe, maybe you might have revisionist history to say that I saw the vision the whole time. Had it not been for them pushing him and putting Mallory up on the block, he wouldn't be doing this.
[00:06:20] So, I mean, sure. But also what I will say is I just never thought that he was like the nothing burger of a player that a lot of people thought he was. I'm not saying that I thought he was going to like mastermind a bunch of great things, but I do think that he did not deserve to be like near the bottom of like every player ranking all season. And it does not shock me that he did this. And it's like, I like the, I like the comparisons to me. I think that, well, we know that.
[00:06:50] I think that a lot of them ring true. I think that some of them aren't as true, but I definitely. Let's before, before we go too far into that, let's wait till the spoiler section and I'll tell you how he's quite different. Yeah. Yes. Okay. Aubrey. Yeah. Did you feel like that Barrett made a wrong move this week? Now, I don't actually think Barrett made the wrong move, but I got to say, I was really shocked with the whole thing on the episode with Drew.
[00:07:21] I think I've been hearing a lot about the icon's privilege and arrogance. And I'm just like, I think Barrett's got a little HOH-itis. Like he made his move. I think it was the right move for him, but I think the way he's handled it a bit after, like Drew is pissed. Like Drew is with him. The veto draw? The veto draw with Drew. He's like a tight ally with him.
[00:07:45] I think there's a lot of like underestimating Barrett, overestimating Drew's itch to go to the other side. There's been a lot of miscalculation. And Drew's been like this odd, like smokescreen or anti-smokescreen, like Q was in 46 and distracting people. And I'm just like, Barrett, I thought that you got like the Drew social game of it all. For me, it was a social game, folly, the veto draw.
[00:08:12] And the social game was what Barrett has had the entire game. So I think that he made the right move. But I also think, I mean, I'm going to sound like such a hypocrite because I am. But the whole speech too, when he nominated the icons too, I was like, I don't know. For me, I'm like, it's a little over the top. We're trying to be showman a little bit too much here. I think he made the right move, not choosing Drew.
[00:08:38] I think there was a chance that Drew would have taken an icon down and he didn't want to have any chance whatsoever that that would happen. And I like understand it. But why? But he could have told him first. Yes. Okay. Someone clue him in. Yeah. Yeah. I totally disagree about Barrett's move in general. I just think that there's no way that you, he should have put up the icons, but he should have put up D, Devens and Yash. And then if Yash wins the veto, then Angela goes up.
[00:09:04] Like you just, you literally know that Yash is contractually obligated to get rid of you if he wins HOH. And you know, he's so capable and yeah, he's throwing them, you think, but also like he's lying to you about it. Like there's, there's just no way in Big Brother, if you are going to do something like put up the icons, make yourself a big target. You got to win out at that point. And you got to win out with the people that you can win out with.
[00:09:32] The people that he knows for sure will keep him safe are Drew and Melody. Melody can't win anything. Drew can win a lot of things. So like you just have to go hard at those three, hope one of it sticks and then you'll deal with the repercussions later. That's my opinion as somebody who like wouldn't really be able to win comps in Big Brother. You know, I think that putting up the three icons was the big move.
[00:09:58] You know, Andy, I saw on chat BCC, I believe you called him Barrett Milagros. I don't remember what his real last name is. Um, and he, that, I think that that was like, we've been waiting all season. Like that's what Mallory wanted, put up all three of the icons. And I think that, you know, I guess he was trying to pick a side of, okay, I'm going to side with the other.
[00:10:22] So rather than alienating Yash also in this whole week, uh, it didn't ultimately work that way. But I guess I see the vision of what he's, okay, I'm going to try to go all in on one side of the house. It's just not as clear cut as he would like to have been. I'd love to go back to, uh, we talked about the nominations at the start of the episode.
[00:10:47] This is the third time this season that we've seen the nomination ceremony really devolve into, I've been calling, it's like a trader's round table in terms of like the arguing that ensues after these nominations. This is really something that we don't see in big brother. Andy is the meta shifting. Is that, is this something that we will see in future seasons of big brother? I like it.
[00:11:12] I, I like, so my first love of big brother is strategy, but man, a close second is fighting. And I really want them to be like screaming at each other and fighting. And so I like it a lot. Um, especially as someone who like, I, this season, I have stepped back a little bit from online just because it has been out of control. And so I really do like, I keep up with Tara and I keep up with you guys, but then I like watch the episodes.
[00:11:40] And I think that it's been really fun to see these in the episodes. Um, I don't know. I like it when people are screaming at each other. What can I say? Yeah. Aubrey, they drew said in the house recently that like the icons and the survivors just treat it like tribal council. Do you see that comparison? Oh yeah. I mean, I've been to like very live tribals. I've been to them all. I've been in Rick Devins tribals. I watched Rick Devins.
[00:12:09] It's, it's very similar to me. I just can't, I can't handle Angela when she just started saying, swear on your brother. I'm like, it's entertaining, but I'm like, put it on your brother, put it on your brother. You're win equity. Does she think about that? I like, I don't know. I, I, it's just, it's wild. Great TV, great pick, but I have a very different style, which I like to shut up and like let it roll. I'm like, what are you doing?
[00:12:39] Shut up. I mean, I know I sound like a hypocrite because like my season, all it was was fights and I'm just like sitting bug eyed in the corner. Like I don't say a word throughout any of them ever. So like, who am I to talk? But I like, although it's funny because I say that, but also living through them. That was when I was like, okay, I am on big brother. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, there's nothing better on reality TV than when you're in a room full of people that are fighting.
[00:13:03] I mean, that, that's like the, like the, the best feeling of just being like, like watching like a fight happen in real life and not being in it. It's, it's incredible. Yeah. And I loved Melody. I'm living for Melody keeping her lie. I love that little, her face. And she's just like, I didn't tell anyone it was me when she voted to evict Taylor. Um, wow. And didn't tell anybody. She's just, everyone's framing Yash. Yeah.
[00:13:33] I mean, it's the one, it's, it's the one good thing she's done all season. So we have to give it to her. She got Ashley out. She got Ashley out. Remember? I love Melody. I love her. I, Melody as a character is like my favorite person. For sure. Absolutely. But from a strategic standpoint. Don't forget. Abysmal. It was, I'll say it abysmal. Yeah. The art of doing nothing is just as valid a strategy. That they got rid of Lyric to keep her.
[00:14:02] And that was like what, imagine the sliding doors moment where that doesn't happen. And they keep Lyric. I don't want to. And the red corner sticks together. I'm so glad the red corner. She saved the season. Yeah. Melody. My, my main issue with Melody is that like you have given, been given a gift from the big brother gods, which is a man who can win competitions, who is obsessed with you.
[00:14:29] Like you better Morgan Pope that to the end, you know? And I'm not saying that like, it has to always, those types of big brother God gifts always have to come in the form of like, you are a woman and they are a man. Like, look at what Derek did with Cody. You know what I mean? In 16. Like, if you have a man who is obsessed with you, who will win you and you can't get him to do something good for you in that, like, what are we doing here? You know, like what? Come on, Melody.
[00:14:58] Get your head in the game. I don't know who you're talking about, bro. Bruh. Okay. So then tonight, as things were unfolding after the nomination ceremony, we saw a little bit of a tiff between Dee and Devin's. And this was where Dee was telling Devin's that Drew isn't with them.
[00:15:25] The reality is that we know that Drew still is. Uh, you know, I think that Rick has had his doubts of whether or not, uh, that, uh, Drew is actually with them. Aubrey, what did you make about this fight between Dee and Devin's? It's so interesting. I can see both sides of it. Like Dee is so knowing them both. Dee is so talented at like sniffing out what's ahead.
[00:15:51] I always say she's proactively defensive and she's like, wake up, wake up to what's going on. But then there's also like, at what point, especially when you're hanging out with Angela all the time, is it turning into paranoia? And so I can also understand how Devin's is like, stop it. I know I have a brain. Stop it. And like, I know them well enough to know that like, he wouldn't feel comfortable. I don't think saying it like that unless they were really close. And I could tell by the way kind of D reacted.
[00:16:19] She's like, whoa, but it's, I can see, I literally can see both. And it's like, you're in that game. It's when there's murky water and you're like, is it this or is it that? And, well, that was as wild, wild to see that little, it was like family having a little fight. Mm hmm. Yeah. But like family, it didn't seem like it was something that really stuck. I mean, I feel like there were other things. Yeah. He like laughed after it was, he laughed and it was fine. It definitely seemed like a like, like quick little argument among two people who love each other a lot.
[00:16:49] Yeah, I didn't. I was like, yeah. There's been times when she gets more annoyed with him when he's making a joke than when he's shouting at her. Yeah, totally. Yeah. OK. Um. One of the big things is the bribe and all of the discussion of the bribe and Yash trying to get away with it. Andy, I'd love to get your thoughts on the BB bribe. And, uh, do you, do you like what it's added to the season?
[00:17:18] No, I think it's stupid. I think it's a really bad power. That's just like, it doesn't make any sense. The rules are fast and loose. And I just think that like, like, so let's say someone gets it week two. Could they have been like, you can't nominate me and my 10 closest allies for the night? You know what I'm saying? Like, it's just, what are the, what are the limits here? And I guess it's like, it's on production, not on D, D like broke it and like figured out a good way to use it. And so I have to give D credit there.
[00:17:45] But I think that in production's like eyes, this was a short sighted idea that I do not think they really knew what to do with. And like, I think it's stupid. I keep hearing that like, it still is in play if D goes home, which I think is really stupid. Um, yeah, I think it's a dumb power. Although I also, I mean, as with everything with big brother, they have a good idea and then they just don't implement it very well. It's like these powers, it's fun, but giving one person a diamond power of veto and giving
[00:18:14] another person to never not pass is crazy. What are we doing? Yeah. Yeah. It's fair. There, it's just not, I'm like, I want like a checklist with it or rubric. Like, I don't know. Like I want, like, I need someone to spell it out for me. And I think someone, like I saw the letter and I still, I was like, how many people? Yeah. How many people? Like the confused woman meme on multiple occasions being like me trying to understand the BB bribe. Like I just do not get it. Yes. Yeah.
[00:18:44] Like Barrett even, I feel like his reactions to learning about it. He's just like, what? Like this, this is so stupid. Like, you know, and being like, so you could have kept me safe too. Why didn't you do that too? Like, you know what I'm saying? Like it just, all of it is dumb. Yeah. Maybe this is a hot take and it probably is. I think the bribe has been additive to the season. I think it's, I think it's, I think it's made the story interesting.
[00:19:09] And I think that especially if Yash wins the game, despite this bribe, like, I think this is such a cool story where that he, he made this deal. And at the time I was like, he should have just said, Hey, you know what? Screw all three of you. I'm not taking your bribe. Like people would have loved that, but he took it and he's in this bad spot and he, he has, he does not want to work with these people. He's incentivized to not work with these people, but he's also trapped. It's so interesting.
[00:19:38] We've never seen anything like this. Okay. I agree with that. I do. I agree that I think it has like made the show fun, but I think like from a logistics standpoint, sorry, I think from a logistics standpoint, it is dumb. If that makes sense. But I do think it is intriguing to watch what has been happening with it. Yeah. It's like D broke the thing. She made a deal that it was, uh, that was wild. Uh, but what's wilder is that it still could work out for Yash. Right. Yeah.
[00:20:07] I think he had, there's something about Yash where he just has it. Yeah. I'm like, I like, I think he's going to win. I felt that way for a few weeks. I'm like, what is it? He just, it oozes off of him. Like he just makes everyone comfortable. I'm like, I like feel it. Mm-hmm. I mean, I think if he gets to the end with, with any icon, he absolutely should win. Like they all had all these advantages. He was disadvantaged every advantage.
[00:20:35] Uh, I was talking about this earlier tonight. I did a podcast, uh, with Taryn, the BB mailbag on Patreon. And Maggie, I talked about this scenario though, where, okay. Yash and D go, are in the final three. They, that Yash and D have won part one and part two of the final HOH. D sits there, isn't even like turning in cards. She's blatantly throwing the final, the final HOH. Yash wins it.
[00:21:05] D has to now take D to the end against his wishes. D stands there. He's like, he didn't even want to take me. I had to, that he made a deal with me. He had to take me. How do you not vote for D? I'm voting for D. Oh. 1000% I'm voting for D in that situation. She's brilliant. Are you kidding? She trapped him all game. Also, like he could have, if Yash knows what's good for him,
[00:21:33] he would win like HOH next week. Yeah. Make it a wash, put up, put up the FAP side of the house, wash it away. And then he can start winning and targeting who he actually wants to target. I don't know if I agree with that. I still think she has gotten so much power through advantages and powers. Yeah. I would vote for D and Yash at the end. I mean, there's still a lot of game to play. I think if D wiggles her way out of eviction this week,
[00:22:00] she's moving up in my rankings. I should win. But like, I do think there would be a lot to overcome in my eyes. The fact that she was handed all these advantages and Yash was not. But he's a masterful player. But I see this jury. I see them like the edge of extinction people who couldn't say that the jury's not on, that they were pissed about the design of the game.
[00:22:24] And I think that people annoyed at the design of the game would outnumber the people who saw how masterful D was. And I think Yash wins. Rick won't bring the spirit of War Dog to the final two and say, Hey, the format's not on trial. You are. I don't know that this jury bites. Mm-hmm. Yep. Mallory's still their queen. Did you see Barrett salivating over Mallory still?
[00:22:54] I'm like, that happened like 10 years ago. Just to be specific, because I don't want people to get twisted. I'm talking about in the scenario where Yash has not won an HOH, and Taryn made a great point that Yash should win the final four HOH. That's a great one to burn. It affects nothing. But if he ends up in the scenario where he has not won an HOH yet, and he has to take D to the final two against his wishes, that's the one thing that looks so bad for him. Yeah, he's getting dragged by.
[00:23:24] I just don't think that's going to happen. But never say never. It would be interesting. That would be so fun, though. It would be interesting to see. I'd love to talk about Yash and Taylor. Okay, Yash tells this bold-faced lie about how, hey, I made a deal with D. I made the deal with D. It's only with D. Taylor twists his arm finally, and he tells her the truth that he has to, or he cannot nominate any of the icons.
[00:23:53] The only person that he reveals this to. And I like this moment for them. Me too. Yeah, I love them. I mean, I think that Taylor, if Taylor, like, if they last for a little bit and Taylor cuts him, that is, like, the move that I think Taylor needs to make to win. And I think she, like, has it in her. And so, and I would love to see that because I like her better than him. So. Wow. Yeah. I think, yeah.
[00:24:22] I like watching Yash, but I, like, don't, I don't relate to Yash whatsoever. I think I would not like Yash if I met him in everyday life. I like Taylor way more. Hmm. There must be some way that you relate to Yash. How do you feel about Chipotle? I do like Chipotle. Sure. Yes. I can relate to him in that regard. And, like, he's just a 24-year-old who says bro all the time. I just don't think I would really, like, I wish him well. I think he seems like a nice person. I just don't think I would really have much in common with him.
[00:24:53] Aubrey, would you get along with Yash? Yeah. I think I would. Yes. I think I could. I think I could. He seems fine. I've learned to get along with him. He seems fine, bro. Well, you know, whatever. It's all good. Mm-hmm. Yeah. I can't sit like that. I think he's, I think Yash can get along with pretty much everyone. That's what I think makes him so dangerous.
[00:25:13] One of the segments in the episode tonight was the storyline of Taylor took Drew's hairbrush. And, Maggie, that this is an incredible storyline that we're just finding out about now.
[00:25:31] And it's honestly, like, the reveal that where she hid it is in the DR in his personal bag is amazing. Because there is a chance one day he'll find it and gaslight himself into thinking he did that. Like, that's incredible, no? So good. It's so good. Andy, what is the function of those bags in the DR? Like, what exactly?
[00:26:01] I'm telling you, I, as I get older, I lose memories of things in the Big Brother house. I, for example, the other day, like, the CBS account tweeted pictures of Barrett's HOH fridge. And I was like, I remember in vivid detail what I got in my basket. I could not tell you a single thing that I got in my fridge, which is so weird. I also don't remember anything. I remember that there was, like, a bag in the DR for me. I could not tell you anything that was in it.
[00:26:31] Hmm. That's so funny. So, yeah. Clearly, you're not checking his bag. What's the purpose of that bag, though? There's, like, stuff for, like, I mean, I think it was a lot more for, like, girls if they wanted to, like, touch up makeup. You know what I'm saying? Like, there was, like, stuff like that. But I know that I had one, and I know that I reached for it on occasion, but I could not tell you what I was reaching for or what I was doing with it. Maybe some Kleenex if I was crying or something? I don't know. I don't remember. Yeah. Oh, that's so interesting.
[00:27:01] I had no idea that there was, like, a toiletry bag. Yeah, everybody has, like, a little bag in there. Yeah. Interesting. Yeah. It's not like the med kit on Survivor, Aubrey. Yeah, it sounds like that. I also don't remember having access to other people's. I don't know. Yet again, I don't know what I'm talking about because I just remembered tonight when they talked about it that those were even in there. So. Yeah. Maggie, how does she know he doesn't look at that all the time? Because he would have found the brush.
[00:27:30] I guess so. He would have come out and been like, oh, my God, it's still a storyline on the season. He's still on the feeds being like, yeah, I can't wait to find out who took my brush once we're done. Now, you know, Maggie, the real ones know this happened a couple of weeks ago. This happened a long time ago to the point where Thog thought it was Taylor and went through Taylor's stuff looking for the brush. That's how long ago it was. Which, like, yeah. So this was weeks and weeks ago.
[00:27:59] Clearly, we needed to focus on Drew's hair for his comic. Yeah. Yeah. So we had to introduce the storyline of a rebel without a comb. That is all that was for. I guess we had that. Maybe it was like, OK, we'll put it on unlocked. OK, we can't get to it. So here it was. I was going to say it was a fun segment. And honestly, it was something for Taylor to do on the show. It's a crime how she is being underrated. Mm hmm. Mm hmm. Totally agree.
[00:28:29] So, yeah, we can't we can't complain about old stuff being on the show that Taylor got something to do. Agreed. OK. Andy, tonight was BB Comics. I know that you are such a fan of the time modern tradition of BB Comics. No, I mentioned in chat or ramble tonight that I think BB Comics is boring and everybody was mad. BB28.chat. Yeah.
[00:28:58] And everybody was mad and I stand by it. I think any competition where you have to watch six people do the same thing over and over and over again is boring. It always is. And BB Comics, like they're not even that good anymore. Like a bunch of them were lame this year. They always are. And I like I said, I just I think it's boring. It takes up a huge chunk of the episode. And by the sixth person, it's just like, who cares?
[00:29:27] What was your BB comic, Andy? I didn't. I'm too old. My season didn't happen. They didn't invent it yet. Everyone claimed I was bitter that I don't have one. And it's not the case. It's not. They came one season after me. So I did not get a BB comic. BB16 kicked off the BB Comics. Yes. 10 years or 12 years of BB Comics.
[00:29:53] Andy, I must be bitter that I have never been on Big Brother and don't have a comic either because I agree with you. So I find it boring. Boring. Well, it's like I do. I will give them credit. I think they have been doing less of the competitions like that this season. There were a couple of seasons where like almost every veto was like everybody doing it one by one. And I was like, what are we doing? It's that season. Yeah. Aubrey, how do you feel about BB Comics? I mean, I feel like, you know, those highlights books for kids with the activities.
[00:30:23] It's like this one's green, this one's pink. And then the next person's like, that's a triangle. That's a square. I, I, it's just. Every so often you get like a fun freak out or like someone does something really stupid. And like, I always think of Zach Ransom, Big Brother 16 truly crashes out during it, which is funny. But for the most part. Why did he crash out? Because he just like couldn't get it right. Oh, got it. Yeah.
[00:30:51] Um, and so, yeah, I, it's, I don't care. Yeah. I look forward to it. Uh, my kids really get a kick out of BB Comics. They get very excited about it. And so that it's like they're, they're interested in the comics. But yeah, I guess the actual competition itself is not that exciting. Uh, there's a zip line. The kids also seem to like that. The fact that people are zip lining. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:31:20] There is this big drop that they have to do off of the zip line though. It feels like that they don't need that part of it. Yeah. I mean, as I get older, I'm just like, I feel like I would just bust my knee or something. Like I just, I don't like why it makes me nervous. Yeah. Um, were there any, uh, standout BB Comics that you saw tonight? I mean, the, like, I just think Barrett's was weird. Like I mentioned this also in chat BC, a ramble.
[00:31:48] Um, I, like all of them. Can we bring it up? I think we have the, the Barrett comic. Barrett's was like, Barrett's was the serial killer pun. Like Austin Gangler. Okay. Boston Strangler. I think that's what they were going for. Um, and so I just. Right. Don't do that one. Don't do that one. He's naked. Right. Is he naked? Uh, interesting. Don't do that one. Don't do that one. Don't do that one. Don't do that one. Don't do that one. He is naked. Oh, that's so weird.
[00:32:18] Yeah. You're talking about nipples in the, uh, Zinkbox. He's lanky, cranky, and he'll give you a spanky. It's so weird. It's really weird. Why didn't, like, well, I mean, he has, he has justifiably been, like, crashing out over it. Like, I feel like he's just like, what was with that? Mm-hmm. Yeah. Like, everybody's just like, is there this side of you that we don't know? Like, why was that your comic? And I feel so bad for him because he's just like, I don't know.
[00:32:48] Did you pass the background track? How? They're like, do you like to give spankies? Is that what you're saying in the DR? Mm-hmm. Oh, that's. I want to know what comes up with these. That seems like a fun job. It's just a plethora of odd choices, for sure. Yeah. I think I saw Devin's on the feed literally saying to someone, like, I don't know in production who Barrett pissed off, but his comic was bad. That's funny. I don't know.
[00:33:18] They might have ordered them, like, two weeks ago when he wasn't doing anything. Yeah. Maybe. Every once in a while, it's really funny when you can tell that they've done that. Like, someone will have, like, a huge moment and their BB comic will just be a total nothing. And it's like, oh, these were made, these were commissioned three weeks ago. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Well, the D one was from only a couple of weeks ago of when it was after the thousandth episode. So.
[00:33:42] I also love when they go, girl, give us nothing and the power is just whatever, like, costume they had to wear. Yeah. The guy was just like, oh, so you put no effort into this. Okay, got it. Yeah. That was Melody. Melody got the lady of the latrine. Did Derek X get the lord of the latrine? He did. Okay. The matching one. And he was giving them stuff. And Angela got her egg costume. Like, Angela, we can't get, you know, there's so many things from Angela that we could have
[00:34:12] gotten. Even this season. Last season, you know, like, there's so many things. I think it's really a huge upset if you wear a costume and it's not your comic. I think it's like, you have to really, it's like a costume curse of, if you wear a costume, that's what your comic is now. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. As with so much Big Brother stuff, it's like, good idea. The execution is just only okay. Like, same with Zingbot. It's like, it's a good idea. And then the zings all suck.
[00:34:40] And it's just like, damn, you got, you got so close and you couldn't, you just couldn't hit the finish line. But it is what it is. That's, that's the Big Brother we know and love. Mm-hmm. It's horrifying to me. Like, Devin's being old this, I'm like, yo. Yeah. What do you think of that? He's not that old. As a storyline. He was like, middle or, I mean, it's just weird because like, on Survivor 50, he's like, right in the middle with me. And I'm like, damn. He's like, what? He's like 42, right? He's like two years and three years old. 42. Yeah.
[00:35:10] He's 42. And I'm like, this, it's just weird. It's like, I'm living in another timeline. Well, I mean, I have fully accepted that in most Big Brother seasons, if I were on now, I would be the disgusting old person. But you know what? That's really a thing more of Big Brother than on Survivor. And you would think that Survivor, it's like, oh, hey, you're out in the elements. You really can't. But you know, you could be in your 50s and they don't talk about people like, like that are older on Survivor the way they talk about people who are over 40 on Big Brother.
[00:35:39] Or people don't never forget when Shelly Poole was 33. She was the oldest person. Shelly was 33? Shelly was 33. Wow. Are you kidding me? I thought Shelly was in her, like, I was a child watching. And I thought Shelly was in her late 40s. You're mixing Shelly's up. You're thinking of Shelly more. I am. Okay. Okay. Shelly Poole was literally like 33 years old on Big Brother 17 and she was the only person. You're right.
[00:36:09] I was thinking of Big Brother 13, Shelly. But yes, correct. Wow. Who just recently, I was like, I saw that, like, Shelly and Adam were like, I want to say like 38, 39, 40-ish on Big Brother 13. And I texted Judd from my season and I was like, we are the same age as Shelly and Adam on Big Brother 13 and I don't think he loved that. That's funny. That is funny. It was also a night of a very heated veto meeting.
[00:36:38] And this was really a night where we really do not see a lot of action at the veto meeting. Also, I guess this is spilled over from the nomination speeches in the season where the speeches are actually very exciting moments. And so we saw Rick talking about how he was planning something big and it came before the commercial where he's like, hey, America, get ready. I've got something. And I was not expecting to see a lot of fireworks at the veto meeting.
[00:37:08] But here they were where all three of the icons took their turns going after Barrett at the veto meeting. They're trying to sink him to the bottom of the ocean. Sink him to the bottom of the ocean. OK. So Angela went first and she had the most tepid of the three. And she said that, you know, she's going to have a great week. I thought she was talking about Haley at first, but she said that the person who's not going to have a great week is going to be Barrett.
[00:37:38] And then Dee comes up and Aubrey, this was wild from Dee, that I've never seen this before where during the veto meeting, a person comes up and really gets in the personal space of the HOH, not even the veto holder. She put her leg up and said that she's foaming at the mouth to take him out of the game. You're going to regret this decision for the rest of your life.
[00:38:10] Sorry, I don't even know what to say. I don't know if I have the words. I see it knowing Dee and I'm like, she's activated. There's like another level that I always have known is in there. I didn't see it when I played, but Dee is in like scorched earth. Don't F with me. Fueled doesn't care.
[00:38:36] And that's combined with like knowing these people so well after 60 something days. And it's just so personal. Yeah. She's just like unleashed. She had another moment in the episode that I had seen on social media, the clip in the kitchen where she's doing the cam talk and she called him so stupid. And she said that he's, he's six, five, but she's going, you ever, she's like, you ever put salt on a slug and see them shrink? That's what she's going to do.
[00:39:05] That's what Barrett is going to, it's going to happen to him. He's going to go from the Austin gangler to nothing. That was a quote. I liked it. Oh yeah. She's pissed. She is pissed. And when she is pissed, she locks in like no other. Like, you know those people where you're like, if they're pissed, it's good. She scares me. Yeah. She's activated. You said it.
[00:39:32] She's fueled right now by her hatred of Barrett. And she had said, Maggie, that she was going to take Barrett to the final two. That was the, she was never going to turn on him. I don't, I don't know. I think, well, no, I think that the reason that she's pissed is that he got her. Like she really underestimated him. Yep. And I think it's like, he really stabbed her in the back and like D would much rather be stabbed in the front. Like, yes, he is a bad bitch. Okay.
[00:40:02] Like she is like the definition of a bad bitch complimentary. Like she, if you, this is the way that I feel. If you are a big brother fan and you're not into D like, you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen. Like D is giving us everything right now. And I, I think that she just feels a little stupid for trusting him so much. Like, I don't know if she was going to take him to the final two, but when she says that
[00:40:30] she means like, I did not see him doing this ever. Like I, I thought he would be a goat for me and he's not. And I'm pissed. I think that's what it is. Like I, you know, I know everyone has their opinion, whatever, but I think they're having very intense, like the intensity of the emotion is sometimes channeled of like, I agree with you, Maggie. Part of her is like, damn, I can't believe you got me. Or like I even sat out with, and she was thinking of voting out Devin's.
[00:40:58] And then some of her like reactions after I'm like, that's cause like, you kind of feel guilty that you were thinking of voting him out. And now your emotions getting channeled over here in a different way. She's just super passionate. And she's, you're right. She doesn't like getting stabbed in the back. She wants it to be right in her face. She wants to see it coming. It's such an interesting relationship between those two where in the beginning of the season, people said like, oh, is this a brewing showmance? Is Bea a thing that they cuddled? Really?
[00:41:26] I think she felt very close to him. And the fact that, you know, he turned around and did this is unforgivable. I mean, okay, sure. But in his defense, she played in his face repeatedly. Come on. Like, it's like, I get where she's coming from, but it's also just like, girl, he can only, you could only like poke him so many times until he pokes back. Like, he was literally full sobbing in the DR before he had to vote to keep Mallory, but he knew Mallory was going.
[00:41:55] Like, there, like you said, Andy, she played in his face. She pushed him one too many times. Like, and I just think that goes to show how much she really underestimated him. She kind of thought she could do whatever she wanted to him. Like, he really was kind of her Austin from her winning season of Big Brother, where like she put Austin in a blender and he still was like, Dee, I love you. And I think that she just saw Barrett in the same way and he wasn't. Floridian Slip, you said her winning season of Big Brother.
[00:42:25] Oh, you're right. Wow. So Barrett during this ceremony is, he is going to be like doing the oven mitt puppet while Devin's is talking. I would have liked to have seen him try to do that when Dee was talking. He wears sunglasses also here at the veto meeting. Andy, I saw, and Quinn brought this up on Ramble as well.
[00:42:55] Since when are you allowed to wear sunglasses during this, the meeting? It's, yeah, we, I mean, I'm not a big sunglasses wearer in general. So don't fully quote me on this, but I don't think we were, we were allowed to do that. They really discourage sunglasses because like people can wear them and sleep and like, like you can be like laying on the couch and they can't see your eyes and you can discreetly sleep.
[00:43:20] But also I do think like for a TV moment, like a meeting like this, you want to see your eyes. And so I think it is a funny choice that they allowed him to do it. But I did think that Dee, sorry, that Barrett made all the icons look stupid. Like I think Barrett was the person who came out of that looking the best. I disagree. I thought Dee was right that said he was a coward when he did not take his glasses off. Like, listen, you made the big move.
[00:43:50] You're at the big kids table. You did it. But, you know, like own it. That's a cop out. I think him in the sunglasses was him just kind of being like, I'm unbothered by all of this. At least that's how I read it. But like I said, I liked it. I liked all of it. I liked all. I liked the icons coming on strong. I liked him having like a puppet like during like when Rick is like, I don't know. That's not coming across to me like I'm unbothered.
[00:44:19] Like it's coming across as immature. OK, well, call me immature because I liked it. They almost all did that at the ceremony. They almost all had a little puppet. And then Drew said he didn't want to do it. So then like Melody didn't do it. Yash and Taylor didn't do it. And then we got in trouble with Melody again because he didn't want to do something against icons.
[00:44:44] I don't think anybody who was prominently featured in that veto meeting was a prominent, like mature human being. I think that everybody was. What about Yash? I think everybody was acting a little immature. And so I don't know why we're dogging Barrett so much for it. D literally like got in his face. I said you're going to regret this for the rest of your life. That was classic. Yeah.
[00:45:12] Why are we asking like D was this beacon of glass? Yeah. It was a great moment. It was. She put her leg up on the couch to put D's nuts in his face. OK. D's nuts. That's what they said. I can't. Yeah. Oh, my God. Ultimately. Yeah. Oh, Rick's speech. Rick's speech, I thought, was a little bit.
[00:45:43] This is a little wordy. Like, I feel like we didn't really, you know, get to a big emotional beat or have like a great line. I just also feel like, I mean, Aubrey, you can attest to this more than me. I think he just doesn't seem like someone who like, he just seems like a nice guy in general. I feel like it probably was like not super easy for him to come up with like a speech where he's kind of mean. Does that make sense? Everything's kind of a joke. You know, there's always the joke.
[00:46:15] And I think, I mean, it's been interesting watching Rick. Like, I think he like gets the move and the lie, but he's also like really hurt. There's like, he's internal about it, too. I think he's like actually probably pretty hurt, but also not like overtly going to like come for someone who's younger than him that he like cares for.
[00:46:34] Yeah. Aubrey, I feel like the, I guess we didn't get this so much in Survivor 50, but I feel like like Edge of Extinction Rick Devins, like when he's like calling out Ron for trying to trick him with the fake advantage menu. Like, I feel like we have not seen Rick really like get to that gear. No, and it's interesting. I thought about that.
[00:46:59] Like I have, I've been actually very proud of him watching Big Brother that he's been able to like pace himself. I think that the stage is different in a way. It's like a different dynamic. I don't know what it is. I don't know if it's the elongated time, but I've been like pleasantly surprised for most of the season seeing him one-on-one with people. Like it just doesn't lend itself to that like show. I don't know if it's there's no idols or what it is, but it has been different. He hasn't quite been in that gear.
[00:47:29] He's been like more focused on positioning and the relationships along the way. He said it in the beginning of the season when he put Rome up on the block and I think that Rome was like coming up to talk to him. And he's like, you know what? He's like, I'm their dad. Like he's like, I'm America's dad. And I think that it's really hard for him to really like go scorched earth from that position of feeling like I'm the dad. Yeah. Yes. And he's also like, he is incredibly loyal.
[00:47:58] Like I would say to a fault at times, like David Wright, Christian Hubeck, he would do anything for Christian. Like in 50, he's that close to his people. And when you're in a house with people and it's like they're younger than you, like you're literally seeing like he's a dad. Like you said, he cares for them.
[00:48:49] Mmhm. We have to talk about the vote tomorrow. And I think we should bring in the spoilers at this time so we can have a full discussion of everything that may unfold tomorrow. Anything else from this episode, Maggie? I don't think so. Anything else that I would want to talk about, I think we need to wrap up in what's to come.
[00:49:13] All right, we still have a lot more to talk through, but let's do it on the other side as we talk through everything in this episode. Spoilers! The Office of Civil Defense has issued the following message. This is a spoiler. Warning. A spoiler. Warning means that an actual... Spoiler. ...against this country has been detected and that protective action should be taken. Yeah, I have an old Rick Devins puppet. He's unrecognizable.
[00:49:44] Yeah, it's totally different. It really is crazy how different he looks, yeah. Yeah. I'm gonna get played, he used to say. I couldn't see that that was on a stick, Rob, and I thought you had like a graphic incorporated into your... Wouldn't that be amazing? Maybe one day. Maybe one day we'll have that. Oh yeah, we didn't talk about all of Angela's tasks for Chuck. Oh my God, that was my favorite part of the episode in so many ways. It's Chuck time. Yeah. She keeps talking about Chuck. Like, I keep...
[00:50:14] I'm like, why is she talking about Chuck Chuck? And I'm like, oh, Chuck, her husband. And it's just... Every time. The other Chuck, she's like, wait, wait, is he from Texas? Is that a thing? Yes. I loved that segment. I found that to be very relatable. I would be stressing the hell out. What's happening at my house? Yeah. I'm doing the emotional load, the mental load from like my entrapment in the Big Brother house. I'd be the same way.
[00:50:38] It's so cool that you could send messages for people to do things of like, okay, here's a set of reminder. Do this. Like, you know, if I was on live feeds, I could run RHAP from the house. Just like, okay, do this. Okay, do this. Nicole wouldn't listen. But, you know, the people that... You know, the people at RHAP would have to. Okay. All right.
[00:51:01] We have a big blockbuster coming up tomorrow where one of the icons will go home. A lot will depend on what the competition is, Julie should tell us, at some point on Thursday afternoon. But Maggie, what are the scenarios looking like at this hour? So yesterday, Dee hit the campaign trail and started working on Yash and Taylor.
[00:51:28] And she was able to convince Yash that keeping her in the house would be the smart move for him so that she could go after Drew and Barrett for him. At the same time, Melody, in all of her wisdom, was saying that she thought maybe Angela should go over Dee, which I do sort of see that scenario for Melody if she's like, I need to be that final two goat spot. I don't want Angela taking that. Is that what she's thinking?
[00:51:58] I don't think so, no. Yeah. I'm not really sure what she's thinking. She couldn't really articulate it super well, in my opinion. But I'm interested to hear more from her maybe today. So as of this evening, like two hours ago, Yash and Taylor have confirmed that they will be voting. They will be keeping Dee in whatever scenario. They will be voting out Rick Devins in whatever scenario.
[00:52:21] And they do not plan on telling Melody, Drew or Barrett that they will be keeping Dee and they plan on blindsiding them at the vote. Oh, my God. And Dee is already speaking, already speaking with the icons about how she does not want to actually go after Drew because she's realizing that Drew and Yash are fighting so much that she's like, I want to keep Drew in the house so that he can go after Yash. And Yash will be going after Drew. So like, I'll go for Barrett. But I'll put up like Barrett and Melody.
[00:52:49] Or I'll put up like, you know what I mean? So like already she's, you know, wishy-washing around. But it's just like if Dee can do this, like I said earlier, that's a bad bitch right there. That's Big Brother. I know. I will absolutely give her her tens if she can get if she if the vote because here's the thing. It is Big Brother 28. We need to remember. And this will probably change four more times before the actual vote tomorrow. But he's not involved.
[00:53:19] Yeah. What? But he's not involved in the vote. So I don't know that. That's true. That's true. So, man, like I was talking about this a little bit the other day. But like Dee as a player, her like insistence on like crazy last minute moves would really make – I would be like you get one strike. Like, okay, we can do like one last minute vote flip because you're bored. But at the second one, I would be like you have got to go.
[00:53:48] Like what is like holding you back from doing this to me like in a week or two? I can't believe people are like so scared of her. Like if she – if I were in there, I would be like what are we doing? She must go at all costs. It should be Dee's top priority, a huge gap. Devins' priority, a huge gap. Angela. Voting out Angela over Dee is insane. It's crazy. It is. It's crazy. Like if that happens, then I am staunchly team Devins and Dee.
[00:54:18] And it's just like I'm not rooting for the new players anymore at all. Yeah. Completely agree. Also, the reason that they are so scared of Devins is – excuse me – his connection with Drew. Okay. Melody is deeply threatened by that. She wants to be Drew's number one. And she's pissed still. Yash is very threatened by that as well. So I think that like that's the main reason why Devins is so high because Dee like floats around and backstabs everybody kind of in that group.
[00:54:48] But they know that Drew – like Drew is obsessed with Daddy Devins. Okay. You know? So like I think that that's why Devins is their number one priority. Aubrey, I want to ask you about something that Taryn was mentioning on the live feed update. I think it was from today with Asia and he talked about how that something that really bothered Dee was that she talked about how in Survivor 50 she kind of just went out laying down.
[00:55:17] She didn't put up too much of a fight. She kind of accepted her fate that she was going to go out and she didn't fight as like tooth and nail. And in this game she is not getting taken out of this house alive. Yes. Yeah. That makes sense.
[00:55:38] You know they always say like whoever won the season you were just on or just won the season you were on you take that style a bit into your play or like they say that but you also take your mistakes and you undo them. I absolutely see that in her. When she went home she kind of like it was odd she like drew dead in this weird spot in the game where people didn't hadn't had a chance to talk to each other yet. Yeah. I don't know what she could have done but she did like she could she had to accept her fate it moved so quickly but she's got time now.
[00:56:07] And she knows that feeling and she doesn't want to have that feeling again. Yeah. Uh and she's gonna that the thing about her making the last minute moves though really struck me Andy because she does do that remember the Sifu vote in 45. But she has a steadiness to her that so many other players don't in the moment when you're talking to her so I think she can like go nuts and then like. So she's pulling on like 45 D and doesn't want the regrets of 50 D.
[00:56:36] And I saw her last night she was like crying reading her letters from home and I'm like okay you guys better watch out. There she goes. Well and I'm always gonna respect a player who goes down fighting in every way that they can. It drives me nuts when people just like in the especially like like you said in Survivor it happened so quick. In the Big Brother house. Yeah. Except on like Monday that you're going home on Thursday I lose like all respect for you. Try everything you can. And that's why I like respect you a lot in this moment.
[00:57:06] Let's talk about potentially this could be the Big Brother funeral for Angela. And this took me by surprise. I did not see Angela going out this week. I had been feeling like I was you know building a world where I could have seen Angela as the winner. I thought that she was rising in some ways and I think that if she does stay I do think she has final two potential and anything could happen.
[00:57:36] Andy how do you contextualize this run for Angela this season? I mean I think mostly Angela's been doing a good job of letting Dee and Devens be like shields in front of her. And I mean granted she's going to potentially get outplayed by Dee here but if she doesn't and she stays I fully agree with you that if she survives this vote I think she's like okay for a little bit. I don't think she's going to be a big time for the coming weeks.
[00:58:03] And so it'll be an interesting trajectory to see what happens if she does in fact stay. I mean if she goes it's it's if she goes it's less what she has done and more than everyone else is a dummy. Yeah. And so Maggie if she goes it's kind of the weird thing where she will place worse than Big Brother 26 Angela but in so many ways she played better than Big Brother 26 Angela. Yes.
[00:58:31] She's playing with better players in my opinion. Like she's like she's not leaving because she messed up. She's leaving because Dee is such a shark. Yeah. Like she she's with one of the best to do these types of games. So like you know if she leaves to me it's not like a knock on Angela in that way. Another thing I forgot to mention about Angela and like possibly why Melody may want to vote her out but this sort of was like after Melody brought it up.
[00:59:00] Angela caught Drew and Melody like canoodling in the pool. Yeah. And she has been spreading it all around the house and like going up to them to their faces being like I saw you guys touching on each other in the pool. Can you just make out in front of me Melody I know you like him which I do think is horrifying Melody and like humiliating both her and Drew.
[00:59:28] So I think like Melody would be like yeah get her out of here. She keeps painting a target on my back as like Drew's showmance and also it's humiliating like as a person. So I can see that also maybe factoring into if Melody does end up wanting to do this that being part of it. Like I said I'm not good. That's a good point.
[00:59:54] I didn't think about that but I did see like a clip where I'm like okay Angela like you said it are you going to say it again? You're saying it again. Why are you saying it again? She brought it up like four times. Like two of their faces. She brought it up last night in front of them and then she brought it up to Drew again in a huge group of people. She brought it up and was like we know you're kissing don't deny it whatever and he's like Angela we're literally not. Like stop. Please stop Angela. Keep going Angela.
[01:00:24] We love it. Do you want to see Angela out tomorrow night Andy? No. Well oh my god it's tough actually. Yeah you did. I think D makes things so fun. So I know like I can't believe I'm saying this but I feel like my optimal person to go tomorrow is Tevin's. All right well let's talk that through. It looked like that maybe a week ago we were going to be potentially saying goodbye to Rick Devins. We talked about that last Wednesday night.
[01:00:54] Here we are again. Aubrey last week you were very confident. Rick Devins was going to win the blockbuster. I was too. Are you feeling as confident this week? He's sick right? Right now? Isn't he sick Maggie? Yeah. What's going on? I didn't know this. He's sick. He has a bad cough and he's been like kind of running a little right fever. He's faking it. He's trying to get the knee. He's playing possum. Maybe. I want to believe that.
[01:01:24] I love that. I'm a little worried about him for that reason because I can tell his energies a little bit. Like I felt it in my bones last week. I still believe. I have seen him do. I mean I sat on that jury for the Edge of Extinction and it's like nine out of ten times he gets out of it. I believe. I believe. He is very good. If it's any carnival like game, he can do it. Yeah. By the way. He gets. He loves it. Chats got it. He was in the rain.
[01:01:54] Reveal the real. Oh, he was in the rain. He went out in the rain. He was in the rain but Drew was running in the rain. That's how you catch a cold. He was in the rain. I don't know. People are blaming it on the intern who played his blockbuster the week before. They're like see if she had the sniffles. Oh my gosh. Yeah. But I still believe in him. I think he can do anything. He's he like I would shit my pants having to do that and have like performance anxiety. He's fueled by it. You won some motion.
[01:02:25] Yeah. Well, that was like one times out of a hundred. I won something like that. It was the one time. I know. And I'm excited. I'm not trying to like fully knock myself, but like I'm saying stats on paper, Rick Devin makes it out of 90% of those situations. And I want to add that I genuinely have really loved him this season. I don't want to lose any of these people, but you know that I like like drama and strategy and fights. Yeah. And it's like D I think is going to really bring some like tough strategy and Angela is going to yell at people and cause trouble.
[01:02:56] And so that kind of leaves Devin's as the one who is not going to be as prominent in either of those aspects. Maggie, from an unbiased perspective for fun feeds, fun TV, what is the more fun outcome to have happen? The most fun outcome of all is Rick Devin's wins the blockbuster. D goes home. Angela immediately wins HOH, has nobody to calm her down and runs rampant in the Big Brother house. Yeah. But that's not good.
[01:03:25] That does not seem like that. That is a possibility at this hour. So the possible most fun feeds are Rick Devin's wins blockbuster. D stays in a four, four, one blindside because Drew thinks he's giving her sympathy vote. Devin's votes to keep her Taylor and Yash all vote to keep her. Melody's the only one left out of the vote again and Barry blindsided. And then we go into the HOH.
[01:03:54] That would be like most fun feeds. That's the way D would get me Barrett's face after that vote and be like, ha ha. Aubrey, while I feel like it does look dark for Rick Devin's, I could totally see him staying and winning in HOH tomorrow night. I believe. I really do. I do. I believe. This season is so like, it's so over. We're so back. It's over. We're back.
[01:04:24] I know it's such a like, off and off. It's been amazing. It's been a fun ride. I agree. I think it has been an amazing season. Yes. I've never been glued to feeds like this in my life. Like the feeds were on my TV before I came on. And I was like, I don't want to have the feeds on in the background of my podcast about Big Brother. Like, I, I'm so obsessed with it because we're going into final seven here and the playing field feels so wide open. Yes. When does it ever, ever feel that way? Yeah.
[01:04:53] Can I give you another fun outcome? Okay. Uh, Devin stays. Okay. Uh, new HOH is Yash. Yeah. Like that's, that's, that's fun. I agree. That is fun. And then, uh, uh, it was like, all right, it's time to put up or shut up. It's like, okay, the nominees are, uh, going to be, uh, Taylor, Drew and Barrett. Melody, Drew and Barrett, I guess. Yeah. Yeah. I hope it would be Melody, Drew and Barrett.
[01:05:24] What a time. Yeah. That'd be, that'd be crazy. Um, all right. But it could be also the Swan song for Rick Devins. And so I think we should potentially just talk about Aubrey, if this is the end of the road for Rick Devins and we may not want to say it, but if it was, how was the ride for you? Oh my gosh. Um, I am so proud of Rick.
[01:05:49] He is someone that I've played with and I've always said, I love watching him. Yeah. When I play with him, I'm like, you're my bud, but I also want to kill you. Cause you play the game in a way where I'm like, stop doing that. Be quiet. Don't tell the person that don't say that to Jonathan. Don't tell them. Don't lie. What are you doing? Um, and I think he's paced himself in a way that is like, not necessarily natural to him, but I've seen him mature and how he thinks strategically.
[01:06:18] And it's been fun for me, but it's so funny to be like a D and Angela and Devins. Rick is perhaps the most tame of those three. I never thought Andy that I would live in a world where that exists. It's strange to me, but I'm also really proud of him for playing that way. I think it's. And I mean, he just said for the love of the games. Like I do think as someone who takes everything too seriously and like survivor is life or death
[01:06:42] for me, no matter how many times I try to put it in perspective, the way Rick keeps it in perspective. And also like shout out to his wife. She's like a model for any player who plays these games. Becca Devins might be like the true goat of all of them. She's like a freaking St. Mother Teresa as people like pelt her. She is a rock star. I love the Devins. Rick, I'm proud of you. She's so funny on Twitter. Like she's one of the few bright spots on Twitter recently.
[01:07:12] She is. She makes me LOL. She does. She's wonderful. And no, she's had so many stones like Cersei Lannister on the street that he's been pelted with stones all season long. And I would have disengaged so long ago. And she's still out here in these Twitter streets. It's really commendable. But Aubrey, for you too, you've been such a great friend to Rick all season long out there.
[01:07:41] You know, I think he's going to be really proud to see just like how much you had his back during this run. We've been through a lot. I mean, Edge of Extinction, that thing was no joke. And I was there with him for a bit, like suffering. And he's just, it's been really cool to watch 38 Rick to now. I'm excited to see what he does. Andy, I'd love for you to give us Rick Devins, the big brother character.
[01:08:10] What has the experience been like for you? I really, I have had such an interesting relationship with him. Like I did not love him on the Edge of Extinction. If you go back and look at my tweets, I was a big Devins hater. Who were you a stan of? Chris Underwood? What? Chris Underwood? I wanted Gavin to win. Oh. So did Kelly Wentworth. So there you go. I know.
[01:08:36] But I was so pleasantly surprised with him on 50. I loved him. Like I remember yet again, when the 50 cast came out, I was a hater and I was just like, okay, Rick Devins, cool. And he shut me up and proved me wrong. And I loved him on 50. I thought he was like one of the brightest spots on that season. And I have loved him on the season of Big Brother. I am a Rick Devins fan. Oh, okay. Yeah. I love him.
[01:09:05] You know, I'm, I'm a big fan of Rick too. Um, I think, you know, I actually haven't seen Edge of Extinction. Sorry, Aubrey. Um, so I only know Rick from 50 and Big Brother. And he's just like, seems like such a wonderful man and like an incredible father. And like watching him on feeds. He talks about Becca and Jack and Juju once every hour.
[01:09:32] Like, so at the forefront of his mind, everything that he's doing. It's so clear. He loves them so much. And he's so grateful that he gets to be there and do these things. And I'm very grateful that he is like on our screen, giving us some really fun stuff. I would have been really happy if Rick was the winner of this season. I still would. I think he could be a great representative as like a Big Brother winner. He knows what's up. Like he, you know, so yeah. Yeah.
[01:09:59] And Aubrey, it was talked about a lot in the beginning of the season that Rick said, uh, that he talked to Sari all the time. And Sari said, do not do Big Brother. This is a mistake. Don't do it. Don't do it. I don't feel like that he has had that feeling of that. I've made a terrible mistake. No, I mean, that's the beauty of Rick too. Like, I mean, it's very, he's talked about it widely. He was an alternate for season 50.
[01:10:27] You know, the way, same way I was like cut and then re-added. I think we both shared. Josh was an alternate for Big Brother 28. I know. Isn't that why? I swear there's something to that. But there's this beauty of like when you have to like accept that. In Rick's case, like he thought he was going to go back and play right again. And then COVID happened and Survivor had the new era. And for him, I think he's playing with house money. And in a way, like it's just like a healthier perspective.
[01:10:56] And he's just grateful to do it. And he has, he's grounded and has life in perspective. I mean, look at his wife. Rick Devins was going to run the fire token stand on Survivor 41 until Mike White said that this is not a good idea. Wait, what? What? What? Yeah, I forgot about that.
[01:11:16] In the original Survivor 41 that Jeff Probst was working on, that there was going to be fire tokens, which is like Survivor money. Yeah. Yeah. And that Rick Devins was going to run the saloon where you would trade in your fire tokens to get advantages in Survivor 41. And Jeff Probst showed the whole whiteboard to Mike White. And Mike White said, but is it fun?
[01:11:45] And then Jeff said, you're right. He took the whole thing down and that was it. And Rick Devins was, he would have been on a totally different path. Yeah. You know, I have to be, I have to be thankful for Mike White on this one. I think he did great call. But now look, look how much fun we're having with the BB bribe. They could have had that with fire tokens. Sure. Remember when they extorted Tony? That's like what they tried to do to Yaj. He's like, oh my God, this is extortion.
[01:12:15] Now we got us to get Tony on Big Brother. That was the house. Couldn't hold Tony. I think people would have nervous breakdown. I mean, coming from experience, he would watch you while you slept and be like this. What? Can you imagine that? And have not room. You wake up. He's like perched in the corner. Yeah. I really do think it's very funny how much Siri hates Big Brother, though. She really. I like, okay. I'll say this. I'm 50. Like, I'm always like, why?
[01:12:45] Don't ask her about a reality. Don't do that. Don't do that when you're playing with her. Why are you doing that? But then Big Brother come up and just get a look where you're like, oh, she's like disassociating. I can tell when she puts her metaphorical sunglasses on and I stay away. Yeah. Her Big Brother sunglasses. Have you seen that clip of her rolling off the bed when she starts hearing somebody sing Happy Birthday? Oh, yeah. She says, oh my God. Happy Birthday. Happy Birthday.
[01:13:15] I just saw an incredible clip where she's talking to Felicia and it's kind of like to the live theaters. And she's just like, imagine you're at work and they tell you that in order to get a promotion, you're locked at work for like 100 days and everybody's trying to get you fired. And you realize that one of your co-workers farts every time he's near you and another person eats all your food and you get no escape. It was like a brilliant way to describe it all.
[01:13:41] Like, that's why I never I never like am mad at people for shit talking on the show because it's like you are with people who drive you crazy and you have absolutely no escape from them. Oh, God. If you're not annoyed by people, there is something wrong with you. Agreed. Andy. Is that the cat? That's my cat. Andy Jr. Andy Jr. Your son. Yeah. Anything else on your mind? Big Brother 28.
[01:14:09] I mean, I love it. I've been having such so much fun with it. Yeah, I do think that it's stupid that the blockbuster is still going. What are we doing? Like that should end like when jury starts potentially like going into having it until final six, I think is crazy. It's too long that the blockbuster everybody agrees blockbuster is a great twist. But it does it does go on like like two or three weeks too long. They don't need it. Yes.
[01:14:39] Yeah, but it's been great. I was sad that I wasn't able to go to the thousandth episode. But why not? I feel like that you would have been the toast of the alumni. I had a wedding. My best friend was getting married in Chicago and I had to be like at an event on Friday afternoon. And so there was just no chance. Like I would have had to fly out Friday morning with like nothing going wrong. And I think worst of all, we didn't get to see you play in the chat BCC battle royale. Oh my gosh. Andy, what a. That was.
[01:15:09] I'm sorry. That was the most embarrassing thing I've ever seen. I was seeing clips of that and I was just like, I am humiliated for everyone involved. This is this is so embarrassing. I mean, you maybe you didn't watch the same show I watch Andy. The I mean, like I will just say a certain cast member from my season was absolutely out of control. Acting in a way that was. I think that's why people are going back to BB 15 now. They're going back to rewatch it on Paramount.
[01:15:37] It did bring back some PTSD for how I felt towards that person on my season of Big Brother. I will just say that. I saw many members of your cast who I feel like don't agree about anything. Oh, my cast was we reunited for a few days to talk about that. Did the group chat come back together? We sure did. We were like, now a lot of people are seeing what we saw. I love when that happens. It really bonded the cast. Yeah.
[01:16:08] It truly gave me like PTSD seeing some of it. I like felt feelings that I had not felt since like 2013. Okay. Aubrey, any other thoughts that you have on Big Brother? I think it's been I think it's been fun. I think that we have an alive season. I think if you don't like the icons, that's fun. But you can't deny that they brought something to the table. And it's really more survivors on Big Brother.
[01:16:37] It's so fun watching Big Brother having like no rooted interest in anyone really. Like it's just like this weekend, like I love the newbies. And if Dee stays, I'm going to be like, Dee stays. I love her. She's my favorite player. And so I have no loyalty to anyone. But it's great. I got to say, I do. I will say this. I know I'm ride or die, but I have enjoyed all the other players. Like I am so fascinated by Melody. She's such a personality. She's got so many layers. I'm like, I feel like, like what's fully going on?
[01:17:07] I think Drew is a fascinating character. I could never have. I am obsessed. Aubrey. I love Drew too. And it's not safe on the streets. No. It's not. But she's so entertaining. I know. I've already been. Who's going to jump you, Maggie? Everyone online. I'm telling you, it's not safe on the streets. But what about all of the Melodruthers? The teenagers on Twitter hate you. I'm being a Drew fan, I feel. But like, I have never been so fascinated by someone.
[01:17:36] He's very young. Like, he's clearly not cooked. But like, there's so much. Like, there's so much happening with him. Yeah. And I'm literally like, what is going on? Like, and I do personally feel like liking the Melodruth of it all is very different than the way that I feel about like Melody and Drew as players, which is also very fascinating. It's fascinating. But I have a rooting interest in Drew a little bit also because I feel like everybody shits
[01:18:06] on him online when he is kind of just playing the game. And they don't like what he's doing. And it's not always good. But it is also like, not like he's that bad. I don't know. Like I said, I'm going to get jumped after this. I know. I'm with you. I am always empathetic to that player because that was me. Literally everything I said was picked apart and made that I had like negative intent and that I was evil. And so whenever that happens to somebody, I'm just like, it happened.
[01:18:35] Like, it makes me think of like Christine on Big Brother 16. I was like such a defender of her because I was like, the way that the audience is reacting to her is psychotic. And that is like how it's been with Drew as well. And I'm not saying Drew is perfect. But I'm just like, everything Drew does gets like absolutely picked apart piece by piece. And I think it's nuts. And I also want to say one final thing about Drew is that we defeated the evil this season pre-jury. Okay? Yes. You know, everybody needs somebody to hate.
[01:19:03] And so they're like, this person, like I said, Drew is not perfect. But the evil was defeated in this season. Okay? And he's annoying. So everybody's like, I hate Drew. He's got such a punchable face. Sure. But we're not dealing with some of the other stuff we could have done. Because it's a vacuum. So it's like the next person. I'm with you. I get you. Imagine if Chuck was still there. It's Chuck time. I do think Chuck is maybe the worst casting in the history of the show. And Yash was an alternate.
[01:19:33] Yeah. Thank God that guy. What did he do? He was the guy from the vineyard. Did something. And, uh, like, like was texting, telling people he was going to be on the show too early. Who's to know? Who's to know? Yeah. But, okay. Thank, thank goodness. We got Yash in there. Uh, but yeah, Chuck is a, Chuck's a, that is a head scratcher. Chuck was there. I think whoever is on the casting team who cast Chuck should get in trouble.
[01:20:06] All right. It was Chuck's watching. What the freak? Okay. All right. Uh, and Maggie, any other thoughts that you have about as we head into another big day tomorrow? I honestly feel like I've already said too much. Yeah. Uh, just about my opinions. They're not, they're not the, the held by. Why can't Maggie have opinions, everybody? No, I'm very validated by the fact that Aubrey and Andy agree with me. That, that feels very good. I have two winners who agree with me. Yeah.
[01:20:35] Um, and you know, I, I think that, uh, it's just the reason that this season, you can tell this season is so good because it's bringing out a lot of feelings. Like everybody feels a lot about what's going on. And like I said, it's so wide open. I'm having so much fun with it. I kind of just like, can't wait to see what happens. Yeah. All right. Well, we're going to see what happens on Thursday as we're going to start off the day
[01:21:03] with, uh, no, not, not the Austin Gangler. It's, uh, the summer of Stein. I will be back with Eric Stein early 915. We are going to take you all the way to the live feed update tomorrow morning and go over everything going on in the world of big brother with Eric Stein. And then over on Patreon, we've got all sorts of things for you. I mentioned the BB mailbag with Taryn.
[01:21:32] We updated the win share odds for all eight players left in the house. And that it was not easy to do. So, uh, check us out on the BB mailbag. Also, uh, the, uh, do we have the, do we have the slop also, uh, from Tuesday night, a very fun episode with the slop. Uh, some are saying an all timer of the slop from this past Tuesday night on Friday.
[01:21:58] I will be back to take your questions live on our patron Q and a coming up at 3 PM Eastern. A couple of weeks ago, Maggie joined me on a Friday and it was a delight. We had a great time. Okay. And then we're talking about that. Look at these people. They're playing survivor 51. Who are they? We don't really know. Aubrey, there's no interviews. I, I think that all the interviews happened in 50.
[01:22:28] Survivor 50 used all the interviews. And now Mike Bloom is piecing together who these people are. And I can tell you just to tease this podcast, there is a moment in this podcast where, uh, I, Mike, something Mike Bloom did absolutely killed me. The links that he went to, to research who these people are, uh, blew my mind.
[01:22:53] So, uh, you have to see it too, uh, on the survivor 51 cast preview part two. Uh, then also, uh, we played the traitors at RehapCon and you can check that out. Uh, why, why we're talking about tonight? I don't know. Remember this Maggie? I was there. Yes. I was there. Speaking of Mike Bloom, there he is.
[01:23:20] Uh, and then also for our patrons, pre-sale tickets are open. I'll be in Washington DC on October 14th. Uh, you could be there with us. Aubrey, you seem to have gasped. October or November? Uh, it's October. I don't know why we use the slide that says November 14th. Cause I was gonna say Andy, birthday, birthday trip, birthday trip. But it's the old slide. Okay. There you go.
[01:23:50] Uh, that's coming up. Uh, patron pre-sale tickets are happening. All right. Maggie, what's coming up for you? Um, I will be sticking around talking about Big Brother this upcoming week. Um, I am on blue sky at ML Morgan. I'm on TikTok and Instagram at Emma Morgan underscore. Um, but please don't jump me. Uh, I, I'm, I'm just a girl. Why do you keep saying that? Is it like, are we worried? I, I don't know. We'll see.
[01:24:20] Um, but, uh, yeah, I, I'm loving, truly loving this season. What are they gonna say that you, that Maggie said she liked watching Drew? Yeah. You know, Rob, you know what people can say. People just go crazy, you know? Um, they might also not like that I said earlier, you know, who knows, that I don't like BB Comics. You know, Andy and I will be in that together. We'll stand BB Comics. Screw you, Maggie. Join the party.
[01:24:49] So, um, yeah, I'm, I'm around. I'm talking about Big Brother. I'm loving it so much. And yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Um, let's see. Yeah. Is that, did they put up the wrong date on the graphic to see the BB Comics, that it was the wrong, to see if I could find the difference in the right date or the wrong date? I don't know what you're saying. Are you talking to me? It's like a BB Comic for Rob. Of, of, uh, oh, look, here's the right date.
[01:25:19] October 14th. Yeah. Got it. Okay. All right. Got it. Andy, where can we keep up with you? Um, I mean, I don't really do Twitter anymore. So, uh, Ramble is where I will. I'm around during an episode. I'll post on that. Um, and then I post on Instagram, but I don't really have a chat to see. Andy's very active on Ramble. Yeah.
[01:25:44] I love, I'm, I'm competitive and I like getting the top comment of the night because we get a bonus if we get it. And I like to see if I can get it. And that's for me. Um, and then, uh, I'm on Instagram, but I don't really ever talk about big brother. I post my cat a lot. It was right here. Oh my gosh. Um, he's been just like circling me the whole podcast and I will actually be able to watch tomorrow's episode live. I'm not going to a movie. So I will be on Ramble live. Do you have a movie recommendation for everybody?
[01:26:13] A movie recommendation right now. Oh my God. Um, my favorite movie of the year is teenage sex and death at camp miasma, which is like an independent movie. That's like maybe not even in theaters anymore, but it's really good. You should check it out. Um, the movie one night only, which is a rom-com that got only okay reviews and people like said it was bad and they're all wrong. It just came to streaming and it's one of my favorites of the year as well. Great rom-com. Um, yeah. Okay. Well, Andy, what a delight.
[01:26:41] What a tradition to have you here on the recaps for how many years running. I mean, it's probably been 11 since, or wait, I'm sorry. It's been 13 years since I was on big brother. So I would say it's probably been 12 years. I think I've been here like once a year. Yeah. I mean, I, I remember when I like got the call after I won from you and I was so excited. I was like, I know who you are. I know what this is. Yeah. And you're still here. And I hear any here. Yeah.
[01:27:12] Yeah. A pillar of our community. A pillar of the community. Andy Herron. All right. And then Aubrey Brocka, what's coming up for you? Same old, you know, where to find me. I've been doing a lot of these podcasts lately, which is very like, feels strange for me. Um, but it's been great. Uh, on Instagram, on Twitter, getting blasted. Join the party. Um, and. Get blasted on X. Been excited. Woo! Get excited for fall.
[01:27:39] I'm just, I'm ready for the next season of Survivor and seeing which of these, how many people are left? The open era. 21 people. Open era. In the open era. Did you ask how many people are left on Big Brother or how many people are left? How many people are on Big Brother? Is it eight? Eight. It'll be seven by tomorrow. It could be anyone. So I'm really excited to see how this all pans out. And I think we can get a double next week. It's looking like the double next week. Yep. Okay. It's been fun. All right. We got a lot to talk about tomorrow.
[01:28:09] So we will be here for Eviction Night in less than 24 hours. Take care, everybody. Have a good one. Bye.
